According to a recent poll, previous President Donald Trump has lost 25 basis points to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in the race for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024.
Big Lead Over Trump
Based on a university poll issued last week, DeSantis has the backing of 52% of Florida conservatives who were entitled to vote. Also, the popular governor is now trailed by the previous president at 27%.
The governor had a 31 percentage point advantage over Trump in a direct comparison.
Previous South Carolina governor and announced contender Nikki Haley, former Wyoming representative Liz Cheney, and former Vice President Mike Pence each received 4%, 3%, and 2% of the vote, correspondingly.
In a recent turn of events, Florida Governor DeSantis wound up criticizing the media for linking him to a big government, controversial bloggers’ bill
In the same poll, participants were questioned about who they would support if President Joe Biden faced off against either DeSantis or Trump in the upcoming presidential race.
I see this a lot.
DeSantis hasn’t attempted a coup. DeSantis has not, as far as I can tell, been accused of personal corruption.
Trump attempted a coup. Trump was hands down the most corrupt president, and openly, cheerfully so, in at least the past century. https://t.co/rWJu6iIMUx

By nine percent, the Florida governor defeated Biden with a notably larger margin than Trump did. DeSantis and Biden each received 43% of the participants who said they were of a highly or somewhat positive opinion of them.
DeSantis has also criticized Biden for preventing tennis legend Novak Djokovic from competing in the United States, due to a COVID vaccine mandate.
As the state’s session of Congress got underway this week, many Floridians were also questioned about a number of bills that had been introduced. 75% of Florida voters said they slightly or vehemently oppose a bill that would outlaw abortions in the state after six weeks of pregnancy.
The poll was conducted from February 25 to March 7. This poll also included 1,452 eligible Florida voters, 550 of whom were conservative voters. The error rate was documented as 2.57 percent respectively.
His Previous Success
Ron DeSantis secured the crucial support of former President Donald Trump in the 2018 GOP Florida primary election, thereby letting Putnam turn into what is now yesterday’s national party news.
In the end, DeSantis defeated Putnam handily, winning the Florida 2018 GOP primary election by 20 points. “He consciously chose a very Fox News-focused approach,” says Seth Masket, a social scientist at the College of Denver.
DeSantis V. Trump
DeSantis is more of the same that voters experienced with that man with dictator-like tendencies, former President Donald J Trump

It also appears that DeSantis reasoned gaining as much airtime on Fox News as possible would be his best chance of winning the party’s nomination for governor. At the time, this was the case because DeSantis wasn’t the most well-known or well-supported contender.
The same thing is taking place right now.
DeSantis won’t declare his candidacy for president until late in the springtime. However, he is a media-savvy candidate who has appeared not only on Fox News, but also on other channels.
He has found topics and strategies that make him a household name.
