Jimmy Kimmel Criticized Tucker Carlson at Oscars Over Jan. 6 Footage

During the Academy Oscars on Sunday evening, Jimmy Kimmel attacked Tucker Carlson for characterizing the January 6 brawl as “calm” in his commentary.

Jimmy Kimmel Pushes Leftist Narrative

Without so much as referencing Carlson by his name, presenter Kimmel slipped in a joke about him when introducing the Oscars’ film editing category.

He remarked that everyone who’s ever gotten a text message on their phones from their dad understands how crucial editing is.

He said that video editors accomplish great things. He went on to claim that through editing, one could transform a violent riot into a seemingly peaceful guided tour of the building.

The crowd roared with laughter at the remark. Upwards of 40,000 hours of security video from the riot at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021 were provided by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

As a result, the Fox News host was able to pick and choose which portions of the right-wingers’ entry to portray as organized and innocent tourists.

“Editors can turn 44,000 hours of violent insurrection footage into a respectful sightseeing tour of the Capitol.”

Since then, both Democrats and Republicans, along with the Capitol Police, have reacted angrily.

The chief of the department, Tom Manger, said in an official letter that yesterday night, a commentary show aired material that was packed with disrespectful and false inferences concerning the January 6 incident.

He claimed that the software judiciously selected the more serene scenes from the 41,000 video clips. The remark fails to put the turmoil and brutality that occurred prior to or during some of the less stressful periods into context.

With his opening speech and connections between prizes, Kimmel covered a variety of topics.

This was Kimmel’s third time hosting the Oscars. During the evening he also made jokes about fearing for his safety; he was obviously referring to the famous Will Smith/Chris Rock slap that occurred at last year’s Oscar awards.

The disclosures made by Tucker Carlson, based on the more than 41,000 hours of uncut Capitol riot footage that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy made available, should raise some challenging issues.

Were the defendants on January 6 actually given fair trials? Also, do laws govern our country, or not?  Yeah, what occurred that day was totally unacceptable. It should have never happened at all.

Defendants Require Due Process

Though regardless of their alleged actions or their beliefs, offenders should get all the procedural rights and recourse that the Constitution guarantees them. On top of that, there are also many significant doubts about what the Jan. 6ers really did.

Now that the footage is available, we must call into question if the Jan. 6 committee was being fair and honest.

Jacob Chansley, a “QAnon Shaman,” was given a four-year term for impeding a legal action. It appears that Capitol police led him to the Senate floor, according to the footage.
