On a Tuesday trip to the scene of a gun massacre in Monterey Park, California, President Joe Biden will make a broad executive order announcement. This will boost the number of background searches performed on gun buyers and tighten regulations on gun sellers.
Biden Wants More Gun Control
When he presents the proposal in the city where 11 individuals were gunned down and murdered on January 21, Biden wants to get the United States “as near to full background checks as feasible” without going through Congress.
While thousands of people gathered outside to enjoy the Lunar New Year, gunman Huu Can Tran, 72, started shooting within the Star Ballroom Dancing Studio.
Also, the president will take action to be certain that gun dealers without valid licenses cannot continue to sell weapons. He will request that the Federal Trade Commission provide information on how gun makers advertise to children.
This is Biden’s most recent attempt to reduce gun violence by executive action, rather than through legislation.
Members of Biden’s Cabinet are also instructed under the executive order to concentrate on educating the public about red flag regulations, proper weapons storage, and the problem of handgun loss and theft.

He increased calls for an assault weapon prohibition, thorough background screening for all gun purchases, and the revocation of the immunity from accountability granted to gun makers.
By giving the public and decision-makers more knowledge on federally licensed gun dealers who are breaking the law, the directive will also keep the gun manufacturers responsible, according to the White House.
Biden will direct Attorney General Merrick Garland to ensure all gun sellers are following the law in order to boost the number of background checks. Those who don’t adhere to the law or who deliberately violate it will be punished.

This action would result in fewer firearms being sold without background checks, which would mean fewer firearms would get into the hands of felons and domestic abusers, according to a statement from the White House.
Biden put a bill into law last year that requires gun buyers under the age of 21 to take into account their juvenile mental health histories. It came after the murders of 19 kids at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas and ten customers at a supermarket in Buffalo the previous year.
Though, Biden thinks that more needs to be done to stop gun violence.
Too Many Lives Lost
Gun violence has claimed too many lives, according to White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
The 26-year-old guy who took the firearm away from the assailant in Monterey Park was called to Biden’s State of the Union speech; the vice president commended the young man for his bravery.
He prevented deaths. In his address to Congress, Biden stated it is time for us to take similar action.
