The Vatican’s doctrinal office has announced that transgender people can receive baptisms, serve as godparents and be witnesses in religious ceremonies in the Roman Catholic Church.

The Vatican’s new stance stems from Brazilian Bishop Jose Negri asking the Church’s Dicastery of the Doctrine of the Faith six questions regarding LGBTQ people and their ability to participate in matrimony and baptisms.

In response to Bishop Negri’s six questions, the Church’s Dicastery of the Doctrine of the Faith posted three pages in Italian on its website that answered Negri’s questions.

According to BBC the response on the department’s website stated “A transgender person – including those who have undergone hormonal treatment and gender reassignment surgery – can receive baptism under the same conditions as other believers “if there are no situations in which there is a risk of generating public scandal or disorientation among the faithful”.

The Church’s Dicastery of the Doctrine of the Faith continued to declare that transgenders may be a godfather or godmother.

The new updated stance on transgenders was signed by Argentine Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández and had the approval of Pope Francis.

Transgender people can be godparents at Roman Catholic baptisms, witnesses at religious weddings and receive baptism themselves, the Vatican’s doctrinal office said on Wednesday, responding to questions from a bishop.

The department, known as the Dicastery of the Doctrine of the Faith, was vague however, in response to a question of whether a same-sex couple could have a Church baptism for an adopted child or one obtained through a surrogate mother.

Bishop Jose Negri of Santo Amaro in Brazil sent the doctrinal office six questions in July regarding LGBT people and their participation in the sacraments of baptism and matrimony.

The three pages of questions and answers were signed by the department’s head, Argentine Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández, and approved by Pope Francis on Oct. 31. They were posted on the department’s website on Wednesday using the Italian word for “transsexuals”.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has recently made a significant breakthrough in dismantling a high-end brothel network that was allegedly frequented by individuals from various professional backgrounds, including elected officials, military officers, doctors, and more. This illicit operation was not confined to one location but spanned across multiple states, with brothels operating in Cambridge and Watertown, Massachusetts, as well as Fairfax and Tysons, Virginia.

The investigation into this interstate prostitution network began in the summer of 2022. The clientele of this illegal operation was diverse, hailing from an array of professions.

Acting US Attorney for Massachusetts, Joshua Levy, revealed that the clients included doctors, lawyers, accountants, elected officials, executives of high-tech and pharmaceutical companies, military officers, government contractors, professors, and scientists. These men, according to Levy, were the ones fueling this commercial sex ring.

Levy further noted that there could potentially be hundreds of individuals who availed these services as commercial sex buyers. However, he did not disclose the client list, maintaining the confidentiality of the ongoing investigation. The probe into the operations of these brothels is still underway, indicating the complexity and vastness of this network.

The alleged prospective sex buyers in this scheme had to go through a process before they could avail the services. They were required to respond to a survey and provide information online. This included their driver’s license photos, employer information, credit card details, and they often paid a monthly fee to be part of this network.

Three individuals have been arrested in connection with operating these sophisticated high-end brothels in greater Boston and eastern Virginia. The arrested individuals include Han Lee, a/k/a “Hana,” 41, of Cambridge, Mass.; James Lee, 68, of Torrance, Calif.; and Junmyung Lee, 30, of Dedham, Mass. They have been charged with conspiracy to coerce and entice to travel to engage in illegal sexual activity.

This case serves as a stark reminder of the pervasive issue of human trafficking and commercial sex trade in our society. It underscores the need for stringent laws and effective enforcement to combat such heinous crimes. The involvement of individuals from high-ranking professions is particularly alarming, raising questions about the moral fabric of our society.

On Thursday, G/O Media announced that the trash radical leftist rag Jezebel, launched in 2007 by Gawker Media, is shutting down and 23 staffers are being laid off.

G/O Media, Jezebel’s parent company, failed in their attempt to sell the site.

Jezebel, masquerading as a “news and cultural commentary” site “geared toward women”  once published a column titled, “I Will Personally Be Thrilled If Stephen Miller Dies of Covid-19” wishing death on one of President Trump’s advisors after Miller’s wife came down with Covid.

In the announcement, G/O Media CEO Jim Spanfeller explained the decision, “Unfortunately, our business model and the audiences we serve across our network did not align with Jezebel’s. And when that became clear, we undertook an expansive search for a new, perhaps better home that might ensure Jezebel a path forward. It became a personal mission of Lea Goldman [G/O Media deputy editorial director], who worked tirelessly on the project, talking with over two dozen potential buyers. It is a testament to Jezebel’s heritage and bonafides that so many players engaged us. Still, despite every effort, we could not find Jez a new home.”

Variety reports:

“As of this week we are making the very, very difficult decision to suspend publication of Jezebel,” G/O Media CEO Jim Spanfeller wrote in a memo to staff Thursday announcing the shutdown. “Few decisions over the course of my career have been as excruciating, and I want to make clear this is in NO WAY a reflection on the Jezebel editorial team.”

The shutdown of Jezebel and the G/O Media editorial restructuring will result in a layoff of 23 editorial staffers (including the Jezebel team), Spanfeller wrote in the memo, adding that “Over the longer term we will be adding new positions with updated or perhaps new goals in mind.”

Joe Biden is currently lagging behind Trump in five of the six most crucial battleground states as the 2024 election approaches, according to new polls by The New York Times and Siena College.

It turns out Americans aren’t happy with persistent inflation, high gas prices (Bidenomics) and wars/rumors of wars, military-aged males invading the southern border.

The New York Times poll shows Trump leading by ten points in Nevada, six in Georgia, five in Arizona, five in Michigan, and four in Pennsylvania. Only in Wisconsin does Biden seem to maintain support, holding a slim 2-point lead.

Doocy confronted Biden about the new poll.

“Why you think it is that you’re trailing Trump in all these swing states?” Doocy asked Biden.

An angry Joe Biden snapped at Peter Doocy.

“Because you don’t read the polls out! There’s 10 polls! 8 of ’em I’m beating him in those states! 8 of them! You guys only do two. CNN and New York Times. Check it out! We’ll get you a copy of those other polls!”

Another reporter chimed in, “You don’t believe you’re trailing in battleground states?”

“No! I don’t!” Biden said.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Honest Reporting, a watchdog organization steadfast in its mission to  “expose anti-Israel media bias” within global journalism, has unearthed unsettling evidence against several photojournalists.

These photographers, previously known for their contributions to far-left news agencies such as The Associated Press (AP) and Reuters, have also been linked to freelance work for CNN and the New York Times.

These leftist media featured photos from reporters who were effectively embedded with Hamas terrorists amidst their killing spree.

One such journalist, Hassan Eslaiah, captured images and video footage while collaborating with Hamas during the massacre.

It was also reported that Eslaiah was seen in a previously unseen photo with a Hamas leader, Yahya.

In the hours following our expose, new material is still coming to light concerning Gazan freelance journalist Hassan Eslaiah whom both AP & CNN used on Oct. 7.

His images were featured by several far-left media outlets, including the AP, CNN, the New York Times, Reuters, and the Wall Street Journal.

The most chilling revelation is that Eslaiah was with the Hamas operatives during their onslaught at Kfar Azza’s kibbutz.

And here is footage of Eslaiah after he crossed into Israel and took photos of a burning Israeli tank. He then captured infiltrators entering Kibbutz Kfar Azza.

In response to the investigation by Honest Reporting, far-left CNN took measures to distance itself from Eslaiah, stating to Israeli outlet Ynet that while they found no immediate fault with his work, they would suspend their ties with him pending further investigation.

“We are aware of the article and photo concerning Hassan Eslaiah, a freelance photojournalist who has worked with a number of international and Israeli outlets,” CNN wrote in a statement, according to Ynet.

“While we have not at this time found reason to doubt the journalistic accuracy of the work he has done for us, we have decided to suspend all ties with him,” the network added.

Hones Reporting responded to CNN’s statement stating, “Not employing journalists who appear to be complicit in a massacre is the absolute lowest bar. Regardless of “accuracy.””

Both Reuters and the AP issued vehement denials of any prior knowledge of the Hamas attack or intentional embedding of journalists with the terror group, according to YNet News.

“The Associated Press had no knowledge of the Oct. 7 attacks before they happened. he first pictures AP received from any freelancer show they were taken more than an hour after the attacks began. No AP staff were at the border at the time of the attacks, nor did any AP staffer cross the border at any time. We are no longer working with Hassan Eslaiah, who had been an occasional freelancer for AP and other international news organizations in Gaza. AP uses images taken by freelancers around the world. When we accept freelance photos, we take great steps to verify the authenticity of the images and that they show what is purported. The role of the AP is to gather information on breaking news events around the world, wherever they happen, even when those events are horrific and cause mass casualties,” AP said in a statement.

Reuters also said in a statment, “We are aware of a report by HonestReporting and accusations made against two freelance photographers who contributed to Reuters coverage of the Oct. 7 attack,” Reuters said in a statement. “Reuters categorically denies that it had prior knowledge of the attack or that we embedded journalists with Hamas on Oct 7. Reuters acquired photographs from two Gaza-based freelance photographers who were at the border on the morning of Oct. 7, with whom it did not have a prior relationship. The photographs published by Reuters were taken two hours after Hamas fired rockets across southern Israel and more than 45 minutes after Israel said gunmen had crossed the border. Reuters staff journalists were not on the ground at the locations referred to in the HonestReporting article.”

According to Honest Reporting, their website became the focus of a cyberattack following the expose.

Political violence in Spain is making headlines once again, as the deadlocked parliamentary election results leave the country without an elected government.

The socialists are trying to attract the Catalan separatists as a last resort to try to form a coalition to govern, promising in turn to release members of their movement from prison.

But now, an assassination attempt of a Catalan leader may put Spain on the road to further political turbulence.

The former head of Spain’s People’s Party in the Catalonia region, and one of the founders of the conservative ‘Vox’ party,  was shot in the face today (9). Vidal-Quadras is said to oppose the socialist plan to form a new government.

Reuters reported:

“Alejo Vidal-Quadras was shot in the wealthy Salamanca area of central Madrid at about 1.30 p.m. and taken to hospital.

Spanish police said they were hunting two men in connection with the shooting who were on a black Yamaha motorbike. The gunman, who was wearing a helmet, stopped and got off to shoot Vidal-Quadras.”

After the shooting, both men escaped on the motorcicle. Police cordoned off the area where the shooting happened, but no arrests have been made yet.

Euronews reported:

“Vidal-Quadras was a long-time member of Spain’s conservative Popular Party, its regional leader in Catalonia and a member of the European Parliament before breaking away to help found the far-right Vox party.

He left Vox shortly after a failed attempt to win a seat in the European Parliament in 2014.”

Witnesses to the attack rushed to attend to the victim, followed by two police officers who tried to plug the wound.

Politico reported:

“Local emergency services said Vidal-Quadras was struck in the jaw, leaving an entry and exit wound, around 1:30 p.m. in the Salamanca district of the Spanish capital. Spanish news agency EFE reported that he was approached by a motorcyclist and shot at point-blank range. The shooter remains at large.

The Spanish politician, a former vice president of the European Parliament and early member of the far-right Vox party, was transferred to a local hospital, where he is currently ‘stable and conscious’, according to Spanish outlets. Vox leader Santiago Abascal said that Vidal-Quadras was out of danger.”

Spanish provisional Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, expressed his ‘solidarity’ with Vidal-Quadras, wishing him a ‘speedy recovery’.

“’All my thoughts at this time go to him and his family’, Sánchez said on X. ‘We trust that the investigation can clarify the facts as soon as possible and those responsible will be arrested’.”

Gregory Yetman, US Army Captain and J6 protester

From yesterday’s report–
The FBI was attempting to arrest Yetman and serve him a warrant for his actions two-and-a-half years ago on January 6, 2021.

Gregory Yetman, was a military police sergeant in the New Jersey National Guard at the time of the riot.

Yetman is accused of picking up a large canister of pepper spray from the ground and spraying it toward Capitol police and protesters! For this crime – something that happens each weekend at your local antifa riot – the FBI launched a major manhunt for Yetman!

The FBI tipped off local New York news and a helicopter with a sky cam was sent out to film the raid this morning!

The FBI is hunting retired Army Sergeant Gregory Yetman like violent killer!

The search continues Thursday for a New Jersey man the FBI says is wanted in connection with the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Gregory Yetman fled Wednesday morning when authorities were attempting to execute a federal warrant in Helmetta, a borough in Middlesex County, according to statements from the FBI and Jamesburg Police Department.

Multiple law enforcement agencies are involved in the ongoing search. Yetman has previous experience in the New Jersey Army National Guard and U.S. Army, according to a public LinkedIn profile.

The public will continue to see an increased law enforcement presence around the Helmetta area, said a spokeswoman for the FBI’s Newark field office.

Heavily armed SWAT teams, armored trucks, and police K-9s remained in the Helmetta neighborhood Thursday morning, according to video footage from the scene.

Anyone with information on Yetman’s whereabouts is asked to call FBI’s Newark Field Office at 973-792-3000. Those with tips may also call a local FBI office, the nearest American Embassy or Consulate or can submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov.

One of the great cinematic artifacts of the Bush era and the Global War on Terror, Burn After Reading, concludes with a CIA supervisor and one of his analysts musing on the bloody, stupid series events they have just witnessed. “What have we learned, Palmer?” the supervisor asks.

“I don’t know, sir,” Palmer replies.

“I don’t f***ing know either,” the supervisor says. “I guess we learned not to do it again.”

This is also the main insight to be derived amid the early-morning wreckage after last night’s Republican presidential debate, hosted by NBC News at Miami. Who watches this stuff? I’m getting paid. What’s anyone else’s excuse? You’d hope we’d have learned not to do it again. (Unfortunately, the next debate is already scheduled for Tuscaloosa on December 6.)

The presenters and the candidates were well aware of the crushing futility of it all. Lester Holt began by asking why the presumptive candidate, Donald Trump, should not be the candidate, despite his prohibitive lead for the nomination and polls showing him surprisingly dangerous in the general contest. 

Nimrata “Nikki” Haley sounded less shrewish than she had in the first two debates; Ron DeSantis sounded marginally less like an off-track bookie. (Has somebody been coaching him on how not to talk at the top of his register? Did he start smoking? In either case, well done.) Yet neither of them had me hot and bothered to go out and exercise the franchise. Tim Scott, the last pleasant non-entity standing on a stage that once also held Doug Burgum and Asa Hutchinson, grew to fill the space: He seemed twice as pleasant and less of an entity than ever. Chris Christie did not grow, we imagine to his doctor’s relief. Vivek Ramaswamy also appeared to be his usual size (compact) and mien (feisty).

Ramaswamy remains the only participant in these things who is dedicated to giving the audience—which, even on a Wednesday night after baseball season, must be composed disproportionately of jaded and anhedonic journalists—a good time. He was in full mud-wrestling mode, interrupting moderators and other candidates, saying he was going to tell viewers things that nobody else would tell them, and generally getting into the spirit of the thing. He told the moderators that they rigged the election and invited Ronna McDaniel onto the stage to resign and made fun of Haley and DeSantis for wearing high heels. (DeSantis looked down at his feet after this snipe—somebody in his office should tell him not to do that.) He scolded Haley because her daughter uses TikTok, earning boos from the audience and the former ambassador’s retort, “You’re just scum.” That’s great TV!

Yet you can’t exactly say it’s edifying. So who had a good night? Elbridge Colby had a good night, I guess. DeSantis smirkily invoked the “strategy of denial” by name while dodging a question from Hugh Hewitt about how many ships and of what types we need to build to get our fleet capacity up to snuff, and where to build them. Scott echoed Colby’s persistent complaints about the collapse of the defense industrial base while similarly dodging. 

The answer to the first part, by the way, is that we need a fleet of about 400 if you agree with the Navy—this was the number I could remember off the top of my head—and about 500 if you agree with Mark Esper. If you think Taiwan is going to be the disco hosting the party, which the candidates more or less assented to, you need to build frigates. (Christie, the only person who named a kind of ship, made an argument for nuclear submarines that improvised, if competently so.) As to where to build them—good question. The destruction of the shipyards of the two great Western maritime powers, the U.K. and the U.S., is perhaps the most shameful legacy of the free trade era. There’s even a song. 

Nevertheless, particulars aside, it is an encouraging sign that the GOP consensus has shifted towards containing China and doing something about the shambolic state of American industry. Less encouraging was the gung-ho attitude toward direct military intervention in the Middle East. Scott and Haley invoked the recent attacks on American troops in Syria as a justification for direct military action against Iran. Only DeSantis cautiously floated a version of the obvious question: Why do we have troops in Syria? Of all our little foreign adventures, this one has made the least sense; it doesn’t make more sense now. Perhaps, Palmer, we haven’t learned not to do it again.

There is one candidate who has actually tried to reduce our direct military involvement in the Middle East. He even tried to remove American troops in Syria, although he was stymied by slow-walking generals. He was not on the stage at Miami; why should he have been? Donald J. Trump, 45th president of the United States of America, remains the winner. Nothing that happened in Miami suggests otherwise.
