Trump Must Not Waste His Immigration Mandate

Trump Must Not Waste His Immigration Mandate

While there are sympathetic points to the tech billionaires’ H-1B stance, it would be a mistake to miss the restrictionist moment.

Most people have nuanced views on immigration. That includes President-elect Donald Trump, whose political resilience is in no small part a product of the American electorate’s rejection of open borders. Yet the man who led chants of “build the wall” and has spoken hyperbolically at times about Muslim immigration has been noticeably slow to rein in his tech bro pals on H-1B visas, though they have done some backtracking of their own.

The Trump phenomenon is at its best an attempt to push back against the excesses of proposition-nation talk, treating America as a real place that is the home of real people and not just an abstraction. You can, of course, push too far in the opposite direction, and some Trump allies do—particularism has excesses that are as ugly as universalism can be divorced from reality—but most Trump voters take the words inscribed on the Statue of Liberty seriously, not literally.

In other words, you can simultaneously believe the immigration has enriched the American experience and been an important part of this country’s story without rejecting the need for an orderly border and strong mutual bonds of citizenship. As the founders of this magazine once put it, “We believe that America has gained and still does from new immigrants. But we also, after two decades of intense immigration, believe that the nation needs a slowdown to assimilate those already here.”

Except you can now revise that to more than four decades of intense immigration, much of it illegal, with the biggest surge in U.S. history taking place under President Joe Biden. The Biden border crisis was sparked in part by that wealthy, historically Western countries do not have the right to keep out migrants who outscore (some of) the native-born on various intersectionality tests. Similar cultural self-doubt has plagued our allies in Europe and elsewhere, often leading to political upheaval.

Most Americans, including vast numbers of citizens and lawful permanent residents of recent immigrant stock, reject this idea in theory. Even more reject it in practice, as it leads to chaos and strained social services, often most acutely felt in homegrown communities of color. That’s how Trump broke George W. Bush’s record (for a Republican presidential nominee) Hispanic vote share despite speaking rather differently about immigration, bilingualism, and multiculturalism.

The broken border has prompted the American people to contemplate deportation programs that might have triggered blowback as recently as Trump’s first term. The Biden administration itself has quietly had to step up deportations, even as the outgoing president once said that Barack Obama’s deporter-in-chief posture—adopted to build credibility for a congressionally enacted amnesty—was a “big mistake.”

The big mistake was really allowing the transfer of wealth and power from the working class to a globalized elite under the guise of woke language. If liberals are vulnerable to defending the importation of a cheap, perpetually marginalized servant class on these grounds, conservatives and libertarians easily fall victim to descriptions of programs like H-1B as some kind of pure free-market solution to American labor problems.

Elon Musk is a centrist Democrat who became a relatively recent convert to libertarianism. Vivek Ramaswamy is younger, but he is a more entrenched representative of America First’s more libertarian wing. Saved By the Bell references aside, in another context much of his recent cultural commentary would have been at home in conservative (and neoconservative) publications since at least the 1980s. And while vastly oversimplified, it isn’t wrong in every particular.

Ramaswamy and especially Musk played important roles in getting Trump reelected. Their Department of Government Efficiency could play a crucial role in his administration. Trump himself, as I’ve written before, mixed populist and nationalist instincts about foreign cheating with the sensibilities of a pre-Reagan moderate business Republican. It’s no wonder he’s less of a systematic thinker on immigration policy than Stephen Miller.

But it will be a variation of the same error Biden made, and given the multiracial working-class coalition that elected Trump in 2024 potentially a far graver one, to accept the bizarre argument that solidarity with one’s fellow citizens when evaluating foreign-worker programs is somehow closer to DEI than conservatism. It would at least represent the latest triumph of sloganeering over thinking on immigration policy.

Why Is the UK So Invested in the Russia–Ukraine War?

Why Is the UK So Invested in the Russia–Ukraine War?

Genuine Western admiration for Ukraine’s struggle has morphed into a proxy war against Russia.

Donald Trump’s victory in the U.S. presidential election of November 2024 has shredded the liberal script about the Ukraine war. That script was to offer unconditional moral and material support for a Ukrainian victory, defined minimally as recovery of the invaded territories of Crimea and Donbass. In Britain, it was considered almost treasonable to suggest otherwise.

Even before Trump’s election, the script had subtly changed into “doing what it takes” to put Ukraine in the best possible bargaining position in peace talks with Russia. This shift recognized that, unless the level of Western support were massively beefed up, Ukraine faced imminent military defeat. In the face of military reverses and with no expectation of further military aid from the Biden administration, President Volodymyr Zelensky too has abandoned his maximalist position and now pins his hopes on diplomatic pressure to induce Russia to negotiate.

Since the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on February 22, 2022, I have been one of a handful of advocates in the UK of a negotiated peace.  On March 3, 2022, I co-signed a letter to the Financial Times with the former British Foreign Secretary David Owen which urged NATO to put forward detailed proposals for a new security pact with Russia. On May 19, 2022, I called for the resumption of the “Ankara peace process” in the same paper.  I didn’t then know that bilateral peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, hosted by the Turkish government, had been aborted by the visit of Britain’s then–prime minister, Boris Johnson, to Kyiv on April 6, promising Ukraine all the help it needed to go on fighting. There were several further peace calls by myself, sometimes in good company, in the next two and half years, with increasing emphasis on the danger of escalation unless peace were quickly secured. But the only front-line British politician who agreed with this line was Nigel Farage, the leader of the Reform Party. From the non-NATO world came peace initiatives from China and Brazil.

Trump’s second coming will bring about a shift from a passive war policy to an active peace policy. This is bound to bring about a ceasefire, possibly by the spring. That the peace terms remain vague is less important than that the killing will stop. Once stopped it will not easily be restarted. The question is why it has taken so many hundreds of thousands of lives, killed and wounded on both sides, to reach this moment. And what lessons can we learn?

The most obvious lesson is the importance of diplomacy. All nations have their own story to tell. The clash of their stories can cause or inflame wars.  It is the traditional task of diplomacy to reconcile conflicting stories so that like can live in peace with unlike. The Ukraine war resulted from the catastrophic failure of diplomacy—in fact the disappearance of the global class of diplomats—leaving the leaders of belligerent countries free to pursue their ambitions without accurate knowledge of others’ reactions. In the run up to the invasion of 2022, Putin’s pronouncements looked too much like sabre-rattling; the United States and its NATO allies made little effort to try to settle the security issue which lay at the heart of the conflict with Russia. After Russia’s seizure of Crimea in 2014, there was a complete breakdown of trust. Chancellor Angela Merkel is reported to have said to Vladimir Putin: Can you guarantee that you will not attempt to make further changes of borders? To which the Russian president is said to have replied: Can you guarantee that NATO will not expand further?

It is generally believed in the West that Putin’s stated fear of NATO’s eastward expansion was simply an excuse for Russia to try to regain lands it had lost with the collapse of the Soviet Union. This is too simple. For centuries Russia had seen these “lost lands”—the Baltic states, Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia—as part of its empire’s shield against foreign invaders. Putin’s story is not just propaganda. Its roots are to be found in the mixture of 19th-century Russian nationalism and the geographic vulnerability of the Tsarist empire.

Most of us in the West simply cannot recognize in NATO the “encircling claws” of Borodin’s Prince Igor, or the “insidious enemy” of Prokofiev’s opera War and Peace. NATO, we insist, is a purely defensive organization; countries join to defend themselves against Russia, not to attack it. This, however, is not the general view of NATO in the world outside the alliance, where its extension is largely, though not universally, viewed as an extension of Western imperialism.  The Russian Federation’s hostility to the eastward expansion of NATO has been the most consistent thread in its foreign policy in the quarter century since the collapse of the Soviet Union. How could we in the West, with the notable exception of diplomats like George Kennan and Henry Kissinger, not have understood that when Russia had regained strength this was one wrong it would seek to put right?

We have here two opposing stories, each with some claim to truth, and no diplomatic mechanism for reconciling them.

Britain has been Biden’s cheerleader in stoking the Russia–Ukraine war. We must turn to history to understand why. Modern Britain has never been truly “isolationist” because, until well into the 20th century, it had a world empire that needed defending. Outlining the principles of British foreign policy in 1852, the Foreign Secretary Lord Granville wrote that “it is the duty and the interest of this country, having possessions scattered over the whole world, and priding itself on its advanced state of civilization, to encourage moral, intellectual and physical progress among all other nations.” This self-image of Britain as both global policeman and mentor bred a conflict between the muscular and pacifist wings of British liberalism, with non-interventionists like John Bright and Richard Cobden arguing that it was free trade which would civilize the world and the interventionists saying that free trade was only possible in a world made civil by British power and British values. What is striking today is the collapse of that pacifist tradition

So, when Tony Blair, Britain’s Prime Minister said in Chicago in 1999 that “the spread of our values makes us more secure,” he was proclaiming a continuing mission of British foreign policy. The claim to the higher moral ground of democracy and human rights would justify attempts to spread western values to those areas that remained mired in dictatorship and autocracy. Arguably Britain’s most successful export was the export of its moral evangelism  to the United States as America emerged from its isolationism.

Nevertheless, this historical story does not exhaust the causes of Britain’s exceptional belligerence.

One needs to add the shame of the British establishment over the Munich Agreement of 1938, by which Britain ceded the Sudetenland of Czechoslovakia to Hitler and thereby helped unleash the Second World War. One can hardly overstate the strength of Britain’s Munich reflex. Thus, when the Egyptian leader Col. Gamal Abdel Nasser nationalized the Suez Canal in 1956, both Prime Minister Anthony Eden and the Labour leader Hugh Gaitskell were quick to compare him to Hitler. And the Tory MP Sir Robert Boothby provided the rationale for a military response, which reasoning also underlies the current British reaction to Putin: “If we were to allow him [Nasser] to get away with it, it would be a damaging blow to the whole concept of international law.” Where does the devil stop?

The comparison of Putin with Hitler comes from a sweeping generalization that sees democracy as the peaceful form of the state and autocracy as its warlike form. Against this we should counterpose the notably “realist” summary of historian A.J.P. Taylor: “Bismarck fought ‘necessary’ wars and killed thousands; the idealists of the twentieth century fought ‘just’ wars and killed millions.” It’s the idealists who are more likely to want to win at all costs, the autocrats who want to stop wars before their thrones crumble.

At some point genuine western admiration for Ukraine’s struggle for its independence has morphed into a proxy war against Russia, with only a tacit bow to Ukraine’s own best interests. The West’s promise of unconditional support for a Ukrainian victory undoubtedly prolonged the war by blinding Ukrainians to the realistic prospect of a limited victory which nevertheless secured genuine independence Unforgivable is the British and American promise to give Ukraine “all it takes” for victory, when they had no intention whatsoever of doing so, Ukraine was sold a pup by Boris Johnson in 2022 and has been bleeding ever since.

Which brings us back to Trump. Both those who applaud and those who attack his approach to international relations describe it as “transactional.” Supporters argue that it will enable Trump to “do deals” with dictators in America’s interest; opponents deplore precisely its lack of a moral dimension. What both sides miss is that peace itself is a moral objective—in Christian teaching, it is the highest good. Pope Francis has frequently called for negotiations to end the Ukraine war, most recently in his Christmas message.  It is the refusal of our hawks and their passive camp-followers to recognize the paramount claims of peace which is the biggest danger facing the world today; Trump offers the most promising escape from an increasingly dangerous future.

Liberal News Outlet ‘Hollywood Reporter’ Still Going After George Clooney for Forcing Joe Biden Out of 2024 Race

The 2024 election was two months ago and the left is still angry at George Clooney for writing the New York Times op-ed that called for Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 race.

Remember, at the time he wrote the piece, many people on the left saw him as a hero for forcing Biden out. Once they lost, Clooney became their scapegoat overnight.

Do these people really believe they would have won with Joe Biden? Many people believe the loss by Democrats would have been even worse.

Townhall reported:

The Hollywood Reporter Tears George Clooney Apart for Role in Forcing Biden Out of the Race

As 2024 comes to an end, we’re seeing plenty of wrap up lists of “best of” and “worst of,” as well as memorable moments from the year. Among those participating included The Hollywood Reporter, and not just when it comes to their slew of articles to do with movies and film performances from the year. Last week, the outlet posted about George Clooney and his impact on the 2024 presidential election.

When it comes to THR remembering “all we’ve been through in 2024,” one such example includes “when George Clooney wrote the dumbest op-ed ever[.]”

Check out these sour grapes.

THR remembers all we’ve been through in 2024…

Like when George Clooney wrote the dumbest op-ed ever: https://t.co/Lswt49uiaW pic.twitter.com/dcCwisDJsd

— The Hollywood Reporter (@THR) December 23, 2024

From the piece:

At the time, it seemed like a sensible enough idea. After all, during his 90-minute senior moment at the June debate against Donald Trump, Joe Biden looked like a surefire loser. So why shouldn’t Clooney, a major Democratic fundraiser, write an op-ed for The New York Times prompting the president to step aside and let a younger candidate run? What could possibly go wrong? Oy. But to be fair, Clooney wasn’t the only left-leaning celebrity who underdelivered this election cycle. Beyoncé, Will Ferrell, Richard Gere, Katy Perry, Dick Van Dyke — none of them were able to move the needle of public opinion enough to get Kamala Harris into the White House, not even Taylor Swift. In the end, America listened to Hulk Hogan.

The left may never get over this loss. They may never forgive George Clooney either. Sad.

Chris Cuomo Goes Off on Leftists for Downplaying First Trump Assassination Attempt: ‘This is Why You Lost’ (VIDEO)

Leaving CNN may be the best thing that ever happened to Chris Cuomo. It freed him up to tell the truth once in a while.

He doesn’t always get things right, but he deserves credit for this recent rant where he went after the left for downplaying the first Trump assassination attempt where he took a bullet in the ear. Cuomo talked about this back in September, too.

Cuomo correctly points out that if this had happened to Harris, the left would have lost their minds.

Transcript via Mediaite:

Fuck you! You get nicked in the ear by a bullet and tell me that it’s no big deal. I’m good. I’m good. Nah, nah, that’s crazy. If that had happened to Harris, you guys would have talked about it for three days nonstop about how we’re in helter-skelter mode or whatever it is. And then you call me a bigot for saying that this is why you lost the election. That’s exactly why you lost the election. You are out of touch. You lost the plot about how people feel in the majority. That’s what you did.

And that was a perfect example of it. That situation? Well, I think it was just a teleprompter. You would have never assessed it that way if you didn’t wish the guy had died. How fucked up is that? That you wished he had died? That you played down that he was shot. It was disgusting. And I, for one, felt a measure of satisfaction that you were punished for it politically because there is no place for that. He would have – he is not the standard of any kind of virtue. Okay. And he still beat you.

Watch the clip below:

.@ChrisCuomo on “lefties” downplaying the Trump assassination attempt:

Ford Recalls Thousands of Electric Vehicles After Dangerous Defect Is Discovered

Car manufacturing titan Ford appears to be ending 2024 the same way it started — having major issues with its fleets of electric vehicles.

Ford recalled thousands of its electric-powered F-150 Lightning pickup truck series, according to a release from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

“Ford’s team reviewed assembly plant records to determine the population of affected parts,” the release stated. “The front upper control arm ball joint on affected vehicles may not have been properly secured during assembly.”

The release further explained the defect at hand: “Certain vehicles may have an improperly torqued nut on the ball joint which secures the front upper control arm to the knuckle assembly.

“An improperly torqued nut on the ball joint can result in separation of the front upper control arm from the knuckle assembly.”

As to the dangers of that improperly torqued nut, the release called out that “[i]f the upper control arm ball joint nut is loose or missing, the front upper control arm can separate from the knuckle assembly, which can cause the driver to experience a partial loss of directional control, increasing a risk of a crash.

“The nut on the upper control arm ball joint may not have achieved the correct torque due to variation in the alignment or orientation between the fastening tool and the fastener that may have induced lateral forces on the tool, preventing it from properly seating on the fastener.”

The recall notice did call out one telltale sign of the defect.

“If the ball joint nut is loose or missing, the driver may experience vehicle vibration and hear a clunk or rattle noise during suspension jounce and rebound,” the release stated.

Ford claimed that it “is aware of one accident attributed to this condition.”

According to the timeline provided, Ford was first notified of this issue in a September 2024 incident report.

Just a month later, in October, Ford launched its investigation into the issue.

By November, it had identified the ball joint issue.

Ford is offering a remedy, free of charge.

“Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to inspect the torque of the left and right upper control arm ball joint nut,” the recall stated. “If the torque inspection passes, dealers will replace the nut. If the torque inspection fails, dealers will replace the knuckle and nut.

“There will be no charge for this service.

“Ford provided the general reimbursement plan for the cost of remedies paid for by vehicle owners prior to notification of a safety recall in May 2023. Owners who have paid to have these repairs completed at their own expense may be eligible for reimbursement, in accordance with the recall reimbursement plan on file with NHTSA.”

According to WKRC-TV, a mail notifications will be sent to owners by Feb. 3, 2025.

A total of 11,922 trucks have been recalled, including 8,017 F-150 2023 models and 3,905 F-150 2024 models.

This latest EV-related issue comes on the heels of a rough 2024 for Ford.

In May, the company announced that its electric vehicles were being sold at a staggering loss.

In July, Ford pulled a 180 and converted a Canadian EV plant into a traditional car plant.

That all peaked in August, when reports surfaced that Ford was projected to lose $5 billion due to its electric vehicle business and that the plan was to “pivot” away from it.

FBI Discovers Largest Homemade Explosives Cache in History at Virginia Man’s Home — Allegedly Used Biden Photos for Target Practice

Brad Spafford was arrested on Dec. 17.

A Virginia man, Brad Spafford, 36, was arrested earlier this month after authorities discovered what they claim is the largest stockpile of homemade explosives in FBI history.

Spafford, who reportedly used images of Joe Biden for target practice, is being labeled by federal agents as an “extreme danger to the community.”

During a search of Spafford’s 20-acre property, authorities found over 150 homemade explosive devices, including pipe bombs labeled as “lethal.”

The arrest initially stemmed from a comparatively minor charge of possessing an unregistered short-barrel rifle, Court Watch first reported.

In a sworn affidavit, an FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force agent alleged that Spafford had disfigured fingers from a homemade explosion dating back to July 4, 2021.

The agent also noted suspicions that Spafford was stockpiling weapons and ammunition for some time, making him a “clear and present danger.”

More from the criminal complaint:

“On or about January 17, 2023, a confidential human source (CHS) provided information that SPAFFORD disfigured his hand on or about July 4, 2021 while working with a homemade explosive device, and was stockpiling weapons and homemade ammunition.

The CHS observed SPAFFORD’s hand both before and after the event, and saw that several fingers were missing after the event.

The CHS reported that SPAFFORD and his friends are preparing for something that SPAFFORD would not be able to do alone. SPAFFORD told the CHS that he makes approximately 50 rounds of ammunition per day.

On or about May 20, 2023, the CHS and SPAFFORD went to a gun range in the City of Suffolk and went shooting. Both the CHS and SPAFFORD brought their own weapons. The CHS brought a registered short barrel rifle and SPAFFORD also brought a rifle in addition to other weapons.

The CHS advised that based on their prior experience the rifle SPAFFORD brought to the range appeared to be under 16 inches.

The CHS was unable to lay their registered short barrel rifle beside SPAFFORD’s for confirmation but believes this was in fact a short barrel rifle.

The CHS provided additional information that SPAFFORD created a “go box” for the back of his vehicle. From my training and experience, I know a “go box” to be a box or bag that has been modified with medical supplies, weapons, ammunition, food and water in the event one needs to act fast to a situation because it is staged for quick access and movement.

SPAFFORD sent pictures of the “go box” in the back of a SUV to the CHS on or about September 14, 2023. This vehicle appears to be a car known to be owned by SPAFFORD.

The pictures showed several rifles, of which one appeared to be a short barrel rifle, ammunition, medical kits, Tyvek suits, food, water, and other weapons inside the “go box”.

On or about November 27, 2023, SPAFFORD informed the CHS that he has a 10″ barrel rifle. Federal law defines a short-barreled rifle as a rifle with a barrel shorter than sixteen inches in length.

On or about December 21, 2023, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) responded to a request from the Norfolk FBI in reference to SPAFFORD having a tax stamp.

The ATF responded that SPAFFORD does not have any tax stamps or registered short barrel rifles on file.

On October 19, 2024, the CHS met with SPAFFORD at SPAFFORD’s residence in Smithfield, Virginia. During the meeting SPAFFORD informed the CHS that he has a short barrel rifle which is not registered because he does not believe in registration.

SPAFFORD informed the CHS that he moved many hundred-pound boxes of ammunition to the SUBJECT PREMISES, but he does not have 10,000 rounds yet.

On or about December 6, 2024 the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) responded to a request from the Norfolk FBI in reference to SPAFFORD having a tax stamp.

The ATF responded that SPAFFORD does not have any tax stamps or registered short barrel rifles on file and does not have a license to have explosive materials.

On or about November 20, 2024, the photograph of the short barrel rifle from the “go box” was sent to Agent Megan Shumaker who is a FBI Special Agent and is a Federal Task Force Officer at the ATF and she advised based on her training and experience, this appears to be an SBR based off the photograph. The barrel is not likely to be 16 inches.”

The FBI found the largest cache of “finished explosive devices” in the bureau’s history during the arrest of a Virginia man earlier this month. Investigators recovered “a stockpile of more than 150 homemade improvised explosive devices.” https://t.co/xysXdrsbEn pic.twitter.com/b1l9cw2ijZ

As the year comes to an end, it brings thoughts of what is to come in 2025.

We are at a crossroads for our nation and the rest of the world. Will we succumb to the dark powers trying to end freedom forever, or will the newly awakened “vocal majority” demand an end to the corruption that pervades every aspect of modern life? Will we force our squishy elected officials to do the right thing and support Trump and his team of patriots to make America great, healthy and safe?

In his “Threat Assessment November 6, 2024-January 20, 2025,” General Flynn warned “There is good reason to believe the Deep State has been involved in frustrating or overriding critical decisions made by American Presidents for at least three decades.  Nearly eight years ago, Senator Schumer warned, or threatened, incoming President Trump not to criticize the Intelligence Community because ‘they have six ways from Sunday of getting back at you.’  This threat has even greater relevance for his second term.”

Charles Wills agrees. “The shadow government did everything they could to sabotage the first Trump presidency, and they have been running Congress and the presidency since Biden and Harris assumed their roles as president and vice president. In addition to owning Congress and the puppets pretending to be president and vice president, the deep state (U.S. shadow government) owns the corporate media, all international corporations, the European Union, and the Canadian government.”

For the last six weeks, I’ve been sharing my puzzlement over the Drone Scare PSYOP. What is their goal?

The Deep State, Globalists and Chinese will stop at nothing. If intimidation, lawfare, and election rigging don’t work, they have a nasty habit of killing off anyone who opposes them, whether in Africa, Europe, South America, or even the United States.

They lied about COVID in order to push the vaccines, which have killed and maimed millions.

They lied about J6 to push through tainted election results to unseat President Trump. Thousands of average Americans have been put through Hell by a corrupt committee, and their bogus investigation is an example for anyone else who dares to speak up against them.

They’ve allowed hundreds of thousands to die from fentanyl and millions of illegal aliens, including perhaps five million military-aged men, to cross our border.

They’ve allowed the destruction of our inner cities and ignored the plight of thousands impacted by recent hurricanes, simply because they’re from conservative parts of the country.

They cheated the elections, particularly in California, to get the House to a razor-thin margin, there was more cheating in several Senate races, and the “conservative” Speaker is clearly working with the Left behind our backs, but they still would prefer that Trump not take office.

It’s clear there’s no limit on what they’ll do to remain in power.

Donald J. Trump is standing in their way.

I clearly remember the first time I took a commercial flight after the horrors of 9/11. Everything was different. People were quiet – and watchful. We remembered the twin towers, but most of all we thought of the heroes of Pennsylvania. Their example of heroism is why there have been very few successful hijackings in the United States since then.

Passengers now understand they’re not just flying on an airplane for business or pleasure, they’re inside a flying bomb that could do untellable damage if it was taken over by someone with evil intent.

I recall walking down the aisle to my seat and looking for those who would help me if anything went wrong. Our eyes would briefly meet and there was even a little “guy nod” of the head in recognition. “If something goes wrong on this flight, I’m with you. 9/11 is not going to happen again on this flight!”

Think of the “Insurrection” of January 6, 2021. It’s obvious that this was a long-planned operation to start a riot to bypass the required certification procedures for the bogus election counts. What would we do differently if we saw Ray Epps and knew he was a fake patriot and instigator? What if we saw agents in the crowd trying to stir up trouble and get people to rush the Capital?

Think of the horror of Butler, Pennsylvania. Patriots spotted the shooter hours before anything happened. The incompetence of the Secret Service – from their need to bring on untrained agents because of an unusual number of other events nearby, to their failure to set up overwatch and other basic security, to their keystone cops’ response to citizens’ repeated warnings – means this could only have been a planned assassination attempt. The shenanigans after the fact – the quickly cleaned up crime scene, the rapid cremation of the body, and the stonewalled and incomplete investigation, mean this was planned at the highest levels of the Deep State.

What if you’d known the security was inadequate and none would stop the shooter? Instead of shouting to the police, the Butler Miracle might have been you.

The next January 6th is upon us. What will we do differently?

We know Trump won the election despite massive cheating – again. But what about the cheating in the House and Senate elections? Will we just accept the results or will we demand an honest accounting? Will the people who called in fake bomb scares and spent weeks counting ballots without proper custody or supervision be taken to justice?

After Trump is declared the winner of the 2024 election, the next step is the Inauguration. This will be the Deep State’s last chance to stop him before he’s the President.

If I was Trump I’d cancel the whole thing and be sworn in under battlefield conditions and then spend the rest of the day in a bunker signing Executive Orders.

But Donald Trump is a man of the people. He knows it’s Patriots and reawakened Democrats and independents who elected them, and he will want to express his appreciation. He won’t show weakness in the face of bold Evil.

I’m sure his security will be top-rate. It’s still very likely that the Deep State will try something desperate anyway. They stand to lose everything they’ve managed to steal over the last 40-50 years.

Talk is cheap, action is priceless.

I am suggesting that we Patriots take the post-9/11 and post-Butler attitude if we go to Washington for the Inaugural. The event and the celebrations afterward will be exciting, but could also be dangerous for our country’s future.

It may not be as much fun, there may not be as much joy. This is a serious time in our country’s history and one or two Vigilant people could save everything.

As you head to an event, look for uniformed security officers. Ask them what you should do if you see something suspicious. Our enemies have a history of trying to blend bad actors into the crowd, but they are not perfect.

It’s hard to be joyful when you’re plotting something horrible. If you see someone who looks out of place, be friendly and pretend he’s another happy Trump supporter. You and a buddy can do the “Isn’t this great! and where are you from?” routine and see what happens.

If you’re staff working at the event as a technician or caterer, you may not even be a Trump fan, but you don’t want to be in the middle of violence. Be alert for fellow staff members who don’t fit in, or equipment that is unusual or in the wrong place. Make note of existing security personnel and report your concerns immediately.

Have a good time, enjoy the win, but keep your head on a swivel. Don’t be disappointed if you don’t get that handshake and photo with the new President.

North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper (D) commuted death sentences for 15 inmates on his last day in office.

On Tuesday Cooper announced that he has commuted the sentences of 15 people on death row in North Carolina to life without the possibility of parole after a thorough review of detailed petitions for clemency.

“These reviews are among the most difficult decisions a Governor can make and the death penalty is the most severe sentence that the state can impose,” said Governor Cooper. “After thorough review, reflection, and prayer, I concluded that the death sentence imposed on these 15 people should be commuted, while ensuring they will spend the rest of their lives in prison.”

Cooper’s office said no executions have been carried out in North Carolina since 2006 because of ongoing litigation.

Roy Cooper commuted the sentences of the following North Carolina inmates -ALL convicted of First-Degree Murder:

Hasson Bacote, 38, convicted of First-Degree Murder in Johnston County in 2009
Iziah Barden, 67, convicted of First-Degree Murder in Sampson County in 1999
Nathan Bowie, 53, convicted of First-Degree Murder in Catawba County in 1993
Rayford Burke, 66, convicted of First-Degree Murder in Iredell County in 1993
Elrico Fowler, 49, convicted of First-Degree Murder in Mecklenburg County in 1997
Cerron Hooks, 46, convicted of First-Degree Murder in Forsyth County in 2000
Guy LeGrande, 65, convicted of First-Degree Murder in Stanly County in 1996
James Little, 38, convicted of First-Degree Murder in Forsyth County in 2008
Robbie Locklear, 52, convicted of First-Degree Murder in Robeson County in 1996
Lawrence Peterson, 55, convicted of First-Degree Murder in Richmond County in 1996
William Robinson, 41, convicted of First-Degree Murder in Stanly County in 2011
Christopher Roseboro, 60, convicted of First-Degree Murder in Gaston County in 1997
Darrell Strickland, 66, convicted of First-Degree Murder in Union County in 1995
Timothy White, 47, convicted of First-Degree Murder in Forsyth County in 2000
Vincent Wooten, 52, convicted of First-Degree Murder in Pitt County in 1994.

Governor Cooper’s decision to pardon 15 inmates on death row comes after Joe Biden prioritized child killers and murderers on his way out the door by commuting the death sentences of 37 of the 40 men on federal death row.
