126 House Republicans joined Democrats on Friday to renew the FISA warrantless spy program by a vote of 273 to 147.

The final vote on Section 702 of the Foreign Surveillance Act was 273-147, with 126 Republicans in favor of betraying the American people. The legislation now heads to the Democrat-led Senate where it will presumably pass and then be signed into law by Joe Biden.

Section 702 is scheduled to expire on April 19.

Shortly before final passage, the House rejected a commonsense amendment from Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) which would require a warrant to spy on Americans. 86 Republicans voted for authoritarianism, with Speaker Mike Johnson casting the decisive vote.

Former Trump official Kash Patel reminded Americans of the hundreds of thousands of times the DOJ-FBI used FISA to spy on Americans.

According to an official intelligence document the FBI illegally used FISA 278,000 times to spy on Americans including their political enemies like President Trump, Trump donors, and January 6 families.

This comes from the 2022 memorandum on FISA abuses.

On page 29 of the report: 23,132 separate queries on J6 protesters to find evidence of possible foreign influence despite having no indication of foreign influence related to the query terms used.

On page 31 of the report the analysts admitted to 278,000 non-compliant FBI queries of raw FISA-acquired information.

‘Rule Britannia, Britannia rules the waves…’ Those were the days for the United Kingdom, as its fearless vessels crossed the planet furthering the British Empire ‘on which the sun never sets’.

But O, how things have changed – up until the point where the UK has lost so much of its influence in the world, and – according to former Defense Minister David Miliband, has become ‘one of many mid-level powers.’

Not only that, but lately, the British warships have been plagued by many problems described as a ‘nightmare that won’t end’.

But now, the British defense ministry means to install modern lasers on warships designed to ‘cheaply shoot down’ drones.

This is supposed to take place in 2027, under reforms designed to accelerate the deployment of this new technology.

Reuters reported:

“Britain’s Ministry of Defense (MOD) said that the lasers could fire at any target visible in the air at the cost of around 10 pounds ($12.52) a shot, and had equivalent accuracy to hitting a pound coin from a kilometer (0.62 mile) away.

The DragonFire lasers had previously been expected to be rolled out from 2032, and can use an intense beam of light to cut through a target, the MOD said, meaning it could prove to be a long-term low-cost alternative for shooting down drones.

‘In a more dangerous world, our approach to procurement is shifting with it … our widespread reforms will deliver the latest kit and weaponry for our Armed Forces faster’, Defense Secretary Grant Shapps said in a statement on the laser, known as DragonFire.”

‘DragonFire shows the best of the UK at the forefront of military technology, and we will not delay in getting it in the hands of our military to face down the threats we’re facing’.”

UK aircraft carriers are plagued by never-ending problems.

The laser is a precise and cost-effective way of targeting drones, which in modern warfare have become a cheap and deadly way to take out expensive military targets that cost hundreds or thousands of times more than the drones.

Not only can drones destroy high-tech weapon systems, but there’s also the problem that it’s expensive to shoot them down.

Sea Viper missiles used by Britain to shoot down Houthi drones in the Red Sea can cost as much as an estimated 1 million pounds ($1.26 million) each.

This comes at a point where the legendary British navy is NOT in its ‘finest hour,’ primarily because of lingering problems with UK aircraft carriers HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales.

The two ships have faced an endless number of technical malfunctions and operational restrictions.

Besides that, the Royal Navy’s auxiliary fleet, which provides the fleet with supplies at sea, is in an ‘even worse mess’ than many could think, according to the Telegraph.

According to Sky News, the eagerness of the British civilian sailors to strike due to a significant decrease in pay could affect both the nation’s military operations on a global scale, as well as NATO’s activities.

Experts believe the situation with the navy reflects the UK’s internal crises, namely the political and economic problems the country is facing today.”

At least 16 people were injured after a driver of a stolen 18-wheeler intentionally plowed into the Texas Department of Safety building on Friday morning.

Police said it happened around 10:41 am.

Three of the victims had to be airlifted to a hospital.

According to reports, the driver was recently denied a commercial license.

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are reporting at least 16 injuries after they say a stolen 18-wheeler crashed into one of their offices on Friday.

According to officials from Texas DPS – Southeast Texas Region, the vehicle intentionally ran into the Brenham DPS Office at about 10:41 a.m.

SkyEye video shows extensive damage to the front of the office and 18-wheeler.

Of the more than a dozen people injured, DPS said three were flown to the hospital in critical condition.

The suspected driver of the 18-wheeler was arrested at the scene and refused treatment, officials said.

James O’Keefe has released footage from his cell phone confrontation in Washington, D.C., with a principal economist at the Federal Reserve who nervously paced away, followed by cameramen, from the public pier near Nationals Park baseball stadium.

Economist Aurel Hizmo thought he was meeting the undercover journalist he was dating at a bar when OMG cameramen approached him, saying, “Are you [redacted]’s friend? She’s on the phone right here.”

But she wasn’t on the phone; James O’Keefe, working on a project at the California/Mexico border, was!

Earlier this week, O’Keefe Media Group released a stunning report of a top economist for the Federal Reserve admitting in an undercover video that Jerome Powell was a Trump-hater who wanted to be remembered in history for undermining President Donald Trump.

O’Keefe’s reporting on this comes years after and confirms The Gateway Pundit’s previous reporting of Jerome Powell raising the interest rates AGAIN under President Trump, following Trump’s 102nd stock market record in October 2018. The Dow Jones then crashed  1,501 points in just one week.

Right after Barack Obama was elected President, on December 16, 2008, the Federal Reserve (The Fed) lowered the Fed Funds rate by an entire percent, from 1% down to 0%.

The Fed had not lowered the Fed Funds rate by such a large amount (1% ) since at least before 1990, if ever. The Fed kept this 0% rate for most of Obama’s eight years in office.

President Trump said the “Fed is crazy.”  He was right.

CNBC reported in December 2015 that President Obama oversaw “seven years of the most accommodative monetary policy in U.S. history” (from the Fed). The Fed Funds rate was at zero for most of Obama’s time in office. Finally, in December 2015, the Fed announced its first increase in the Fed Funds rate during the Obama Presidency.

The Fed Funds Rate significantly impacts the economy:

Lower interest rates usually spur the economy by making corporate and consumer borrowing easier. Higher interest rates are intended to slow down the economy by making borrowing harder.

As liberal fed economist Aurel Hizmo stated, “Trump wanted him to lower interest rates because when you lower interest rates, it stimulates the economy, and Trump was President. He wanted to stimulate the economy, but [Powell] wouldn’t do it. And he started raising interest rates, and doing the opposite of what Trump wanted.

When James O’Keefe confronted Hizmo with his statements that Powell wants to go down in history as “someone who held the line against Trump,” Hizmo replied, “I never said that.” He continued to double down after it was revealed they have him on tape, and said, “No, I never said that, I would never say that… I’m not commenting on any of this.” He continued to deny the statements he made as he walked away from cameramen holding a phone with James O’Keefe on the other line.

Clearly nervous that he was busted revealing the truth about the politically weaponized federal reserve, Hizmo slipped up, saying, “I’m not giving you any comments. I haven’t said anything about Jerome Trump… I don’t talk about Jerome Trump.”

He even desperately claimed that he is “not a Federal Reserve official” and “cannot talk for anybody at the Federal Reserve” before getting into his car and driving away.

While it is unclear if he is considered a “Federal Reserve Official,” Aurel Hizmo, a former finance professor, now works as a subject matter expert and even writes speeches for Jerome Powell. 

After the undercover footage was released earlier this week, Hizmo deleted his LinkedIn profile, which says he works as a “Principal Economist at the Federal Reserve Board.”

Gold prices have been soaring to new heights, reaching a historic $2,400 per ounce this week. Renowned economist David Rosenberg, President of Rosenberg Research, believes that the momentum could carry the precious metal to $3,000 before the next business cycle shift, marking another 25% increase from current levels.

Rosenberg attributes this surge to strong demand, particularly from central banks reembracing gold as a reserve asset. Central banks have been steadily increasing their gold holdings, with a notable turnaround from -77 tonnes in 2022’s third quarter to 361 tonnes in the same period of 2023. This trend is driven by a desire for security amidst geopolitical risks and a fear of overreliance on the US dollar, especially as the Chinese yuan loses its grip as the world’s second reserve currency.

Gold’s allure is also bolstered by rising industrial usage, particularly in the electronics sector, which is experiencing a boom due to the demand for AI-related models. Furthermore, the precious metal’s safe-haven status is reinforced by global geopolitical risks and unpredictable macroeconomic outlook, with the US debt-to-GDP ratio at 120% and the looming possibility of a fiscal crisis.

Rosenberg isn’t alone in his beliefs. Jonathan Rose, CEO of Genesis Gold Group, also sees $3,000 gold on the horizon.

“We look at precious metals as long-term hedges against tumultuous markets, but major gains obviously make them even more attractive,” Rose said. “It is extremely encouraging to see gold moving up now because it bodes well for our clients who get into physical precious metals soon.”

Genesis Gold Group specializes in rolling over or transferring retirement accounts into Genesis Gold IRAs backed by physical precious metals.

In both a “soft landing” and a typical bear market scenario, Rosenberg sees a 15% upside for gold, with a potential 30% increase in play as central banks begin to cut rates. He cites the historically negative correlation between gold prices and real interest rates, predicting that a decline in real interest rates would lead to a 10-15% increase in gold prices.

“If Bitcoin, an invisible man-made token, can reach $70,000 then what’s stopping gold, a limited precious resource with a proven track record, from surpassing $5000?” Rose asked.

Rosenberg appears to agree. In light of these factors, Rosenberg advises investors to include gold in their portfolios and overweight it, as the downside risks are well contained but the upside is significant.

Shortly before final passage, the House rejected a commonsense amendment from Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) which would require a warrant to spy on Americans. 86 Republicans voted for authoritarianism, with Speaker Mike Johnson casting the decisive vote.

As previously reported by Jim Hoft, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) revealed that Congress gave its members a special carve out in the latest version of the FISA bill.

Via the proposed legislation, here is the special gift that members of Congress tried to give themselves:

Requirement: The Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation shall promptly notify appropriate congressional leadership of any query conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation using a query term that is reasonably believed to be the name or other personally identifying information of a member of Congress, and shall also notify the member who is the subject of such query.

Congress gives itself a carve out in the reauthorization of FISA 702 warrantless spying on Americans.

The bill requires the FBI to notify and seek consent from Congress before violating the privacy of Congressmen.

Chaos unfolded at the home of a Jewish law school dean this week after he invited pro-Hamas students for dinner.

As Berkeleyside reported, UC Berkeley Law Dean Erwin Chemerinsky and his wife, law professor Catherine Fisk invited roughly 60 graduating law students for a celebratory dinner at their home Tuesday in what they assumed would an uneventful evening.

But the occasion quickly went south when Malak Afaneh, co-president of Berkeley Law Students for Justice in Palestine, rose to whine about the school’s investment in arms manufacturers for Israel. According to Berkleyside, she was joined by ten other students for the protest.

Afaneh opened with a Muslim greeting to mark the final night of Ramadan before proceeding with her rant.

Chemerinsky interrupted her and repeatedly demanded she vacate the premises. “Please leave! No. Please leave. Please leave,” he said.

Fisk then got physical with Afaneh. She is seen trying to snatch the Islamist agitator’s cellphone out of her hand as she filmed, pulling at her clothing, including her hijab, and angrily putting her arm around Afaneh as she pushes her to leave.

“It is not your house. It is my house! And I want you to leave!” Fisk says.

Fisk then threatens to call the police before saying she prefers not to.

Afaneh threatened legal action in response before the three-minute altercation finally ended after she and the other protesting students walked out of the yard.

Chemerinsky defended trying to force the despicable protesters to leave in an interview with the Los Angeles Times, pointing out that their actions were not protected by the First Amendment.

“No one has the right to come into my house, or yours, and disrupt a dinner,” Chemerinsky explained. “As a matter of constitutional law, this is absolutely clear.”

UC Berkeley spokesperson Dan Mogulof released a statement Thursday denouncing the unruly protest and expressed sympathy for Chemerinsky.

I am appalled and deeply disturbed by what occurred at Dean Chemerinsky’s home last night. I have been in touch with him to offer my support and sympathy.

While our support for Free Speech is unwavering, we cannot condone using a social occasion at a person’s private residence as a platform for protest.

Afaneh told KQED she was left shaken by the incident and was upset that Fisk dared to lay hands on her.

“No one thought that this woman would put her hands on me,” she said. “I didn’t expect this reaction, of course. I didn’t expect it when it happened. I didn’t even get the chance to talk about Palestine or UC complicity.”
