Riding high after a wave of Clark-mania that accompanied the NCAA women’s basketball tournament, Caitlin Clark has signed a megabucks shoe contract with Nike.

The eight-year deal will be worth up to $28 million, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources it did not name. The Journal summed it up as the “most lucrative and attractive shoe deal in women’s basketball—and yet another record for her collection.”

The endorsement deal dwarfs the controversial contract Clark signed with the WNBA team the Indiana Fever, which will pay her over $330,000 over four years.

Nike had Clark under contract in a deal that expired at the end of the season, but as she was climbing the pinnacle of achievement in an unrivaled spotlight, in the shadows there was some hard bargaining taking place.

The Journal report said that on Feb. 15, after Clark poured in 49 points, her agents were raising the stakes with Nike, Adidas, Under Armour and Puma.

Their proposal: Nothing under $3 million a year.

“Some of the brand reps were shocked by the number. It was a huge sum for a women’s basketball player, few of whom ever receive deals worth more than six figures,” the Journal reported.

Amid the bargaining, some shoe company executives were conditioning deals on Clark staying in college another year on the grounds that as a college phenomenon, she was more attractive to consumers than as a professional, the Journal reported.

Clark is set to graduate May 14, according to CNN. However, she has an extra year of college ball eligibility under an NCAA COVID exemptions, according to The Sporting News.

But Clark changed the conversation as she soared to new levels of achievement – and ratings.

“She played herself into a position where it wasn’t even contingent on staying in college,” a source told the Journal. “People just wanted her.”

Not Puma. It dropped out.

Adidas had its turn.

“While some athletes let their agents ask the questions or wade through details, this was one more area where Clark, an honors student in marketing at Iowa’s business school, liked to have the ball in her hands. Adidas executives were surprised by how engaged, curious and well-prepared she was on the call,” the Journal wrote.

The offer clanged on the rim: $6 million for four years.

Under Armour offered $16 million over four years along with a signature shoe. Close, but not enough.

Nike started with $3.5 million per year. The deal would last through the next three Olympic Games. But it took one more piece — a signature shoe – to close the deal, the Journal reported.

Diana Taurisi, the WNBA’s all-time leading scorer, said all the hype has been fun, but it is in the past.

The Women’s NBA season begins next month, and Clark is expected to see playing time right off the bat, according to USA Today, but the game she’ll be playing could be much different from her college competitions.

“You look superhuman playing against some 18-year-olds, but you’re going to come play with some grown women that have been playing professional basketball for a long time,” Taurasi told sports columnist Jay Mariotti for a Substack post.

“There’s a period of grace that you have to give rookies when they get to the league. We’ve had some of the greats to ever play basketball, and it takes two or three years to get used to a different game (against) the best players in the world. As long as everyone has expectations that are realistic, they should be fine,” she said.

But WNBA analyst Rebecca Lobo said judging Clark by anyone else’s norms sells her short.

“There’s no comparison that I can find on the women’s side, and I’ve been in this league since the very beginning,” she said.

“We haven’t seen a player drive ticket sales like this. We haven’t seen a player drive ratings like this. Look at the ratings, the last four or five games she played. I’ve never seen anything to this degree, and to me, what’s special is that she’s staying in the Midwest and going to Indiana. It’s such a perfect fit,” she said.

Mandatory queer indoctrination at school causes huge uproar

Schools across America many times are run by managers who come with baggage from the extreme-left ideologies of higher academia.

Their plans often include spreading those ideals to students – whether or not they or their parents want such indoctrination.

But one such plan, in a school in Minnesota, has been taken down a notch, according to a new report from Mat Staver, chief of Liberty Counsel.

The dispute developed in Osseo, Minnesota, where officials scheduled a “gay pride” indoctrination class for all students, prepared scripts from which teachers were to read word-for-word, under a scenario that required teachers to take part regardless of their religious beliefs and rights, and more.

“And the district went out of their way to make it nearly impossible for parents to review the material or to opt their children out of the indoctrination,” the report said.

The push for the far-left agenda came from “four radical school board members,” Liberty Counsel reported.

“Teachers were not allowed to ‘opt out’ of teaching the ‘LGBTQIA+ History and Culture’ lesson, and the district deliberately made it difficult for parents to review the lesson materials in advance, or opt their children out of the politically charged, nonsensical course.”

Parents, in fact, had to apply for permission to see the materials, had to appear in person at the school, and had to document their identity, the report said.

The actual curriculum conflicted with science and used pop culture to push students to adopt fake pronouns and more.

“The lesson then encouraged students to question their own sexuality, asking the children if they are ‘confused’ about, ‘curious about,’ and ‘questioning’ their sexuality, fitting within at least one of the ‘Q’ categories in its lengthy acronym: ‘LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer & Questioning, Intersex, & Asexual),’” the report said.

Students were to be told failure to “embrace” the ideology risked having their assignments labeled “incorrect.”

But then Liberty Counsel notified the school district of its need to allow students, parents and teachers to exercise their right to opt out of such ideologies.

The district caved, and, “as a result of our work, more than 1,000 students were allowed to opt out of the indoctrination classes at just one school. At another school, over 400 students opted out. In fact, so many parents opted their children out of the lesson that schools had to open their cafeterias and auditoriums to accommodate the teachers and students who refused indoctrination,” Liberty Counsel’s report said.

“In addition, at least 500 other children did not attend school at all on the day of the instruction.”

A senior policy advisor in former president Barack Obama’s administration is facing potential jail time for crimes involving children.

The Daily Mail reported Sunday that 46-year-old Rahamim Shy was arrested by British police in Bedfordshire in late February. Court documents obtained by the Mail reveal Shy is accused of arranging the commission of a child sex offense.

Shy has also been charged with possession of two category C indecent images of children and possessing a prohibited image of a child.

The Mail reports he appeared at Luton Crown Court via video on Friday wearing a grey prison-issue tracksuit.

Shy is an American citizen who lives in New Jersey. He worked for the White House under Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. While working in the White House, Shy was responsible for directing the US government’s strategy to combat Islamist terrorists such as Al Qaeda and the Taliban.

Shy specifically worked in a senior role at the US Treasury Department from 2008 to 2014, advising officials on countering the financing of terrorism and assisting foreign governments to impose sanctions on hostile regimes. This probably explains why he was brought into contact with Clinton since the State Department imposes sanctions on foreign powers.

He also provided strategic policy analysis to chiefs of staff at the Department of Defense (DOD)according to to the Mail.

As part of his work with the DOD, he went to Afghanistan to provide “expertise” to the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), a NATO-led group responsible for maintaining stability following America’s invasion more than two decades ago.

After leaving the White House, Shy went to work for Citi Bank, where he held a variety of top executive positions according to his Linkedin page. A spokesman at the bank told the Daily Mail that Shy is no longer employed there.

Like a typical woke leftist, Shy’s pronouns are proudly displayed in his LinkedIn bio, as one can see below.

The Mail reveals Shy has not entered a plea at this time and is currently in police custody ahead of hearing in June. He is scheduled to go on trial in August.

Video of Biden’s entrance shows two children and their mother seated, silently watching Biden, with the sound of the in-store music heard quite clearly over the small talk by Biden and the supporter.

There were no cheers, no chants of “Four more years!” Just muzak.

With few supporters to talk to, Biden was in and out in just two minutes according to the pool report.

EEOC Sues Sheetz, Inc. For Racially Discriminatory Hiring Practice
Federal Agency Charges That Employer’s Criminal History Screening Causes Discriminatory Impact Against Black, Native American and Other Workers
BALTIMORE – Sheetz, a large convenience store chain, violated federal law by denying employment to a class of job applicants because of their race, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit filed today.

The EEOC filed suit against Sheetz, Inc.; Sheetz Distribution Services, LLC; and CLI Transport, LP (collectively, Sheetz), which together operate a chain of convenience stores with over 600 locations in six states. According to the lawsuit, Sheetz has maintained a longstanding practice of screening all job applicants for records of criminal conviction and then denying them employment based on those records.

The EEOC charges that Sheetz’s hiring practices disproportionately screened out Black, Native American/Alaska Native and multiracial applicants. Sheetz’s companywide hiring practices violated provisions of Title VII that prohibit disparate impact discrimination, the EEOC says. The lawsuit does not allege that Sheetz was motivated by race when making hiring decisions.

Such alleged conduct violates Title VII, which prohibits facially neutral employment practices that cause a discriminatory impact because of race when those practices are not job-related and consistent with business necessity or where alternative practices with less discriminatory impact are available. The EEOC filed suit in U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, Northern Division (U.S. EEOC v. Sheetz, Inc., et al., Civil Action No. 1:24-cv-01123-JKB, after first attempting to reach a pre-litigation settlement through its conciliation process.

“Federal law mandates that employment practices causing a disparate impact because of race or other protected classifications must be shown by the employer to be necessary to ensure the safe and efficient performance of the particular jobs at issue,” said EEOC Regional Attorney Debra M. Lawrence. “Even when such necessity is proven, the practice remains unlawful if there is an alternative practice available that is comparably effective in achieving the employer’s goals but causes less discriminatory effect.”

EEOC Philadelphia District Office Director Jamie R. Williamson said, “This highlights the significance of the observance of April as Second Chance Month, underscoring our nation’s commitment to reintegrating individuals with criminal records into society by ensuring they have fair access to employment and other essential services. To that end, the EEOC is dedicated to making sure that individuals with criminal records are not unlawfully excluded from employment opportunities because of race.”

Republican Senator Ted Cruz was on Sunday Morning Futures earlier today with Maria Bartiromo to discuss the ongoing border crisis.

He explained the reasons why the Democrats are allowing the invasion to continue.

“Democrats are willing to abuse power and defy the law in order to stay in power,” Cruz Said.

“Why would they allow this invasion? And the answer is simple, they view those 11 million illegal immigrants as future Democrat voters,” Cruz continued.

He also discussed that the Democrats were intentionally blocking the impeachment of DHS secretary Mayorkas.

“On the impeachment trial, why would they utterly ignore the text of the Constitution and 200 years of precedent because they desperately did not want the facts of this invasion at our southern border before the American people,” Cruz continued.

In addition to buying votes and covering up the invasion, the open border has increased the dangers of terrorism. Some illegals that have crossed the border are on terror watchlists and were released with “tracking technology.”

A Pakistani man who entered the US illegally in California in November of 2023, was released into the US in January with “tracking technology.” This was after he was confirmed as a match on the US terror watchlist.

This technology was part of the government’s ‘Alternatives to Detention’ program. So, with this logic, an illegal alien who has ties to terrorists was let go with a digital babysitter.

In March, a Hezbollah terrorist was caught at the border near El Paso, Texas. When questioned by the Border Patrol, he said “I’m going to try to make a bomb.”

In February, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was on NBCs “Meet the Press” and blamed the border crisis on a broken system.

“Do you bear responsibility for what is happening at the border?” Kristin Welker asked.

“We don’t bear responsibility for a broken system,” Mayorkas continued.

New York Democrat congressional candidate Nate McMurray wished death on Trump supporters on Saturday in a post on X.

McMurray is running to represent New York’s 26th congressional district – and Ukraine.

The unhinged Democrat posted the death wish to social media after the House of Representatives passed a foreign aid package that allocated billions of dollars to Ukraine and Israel.

Lawmakers waved Ukrainian flags on the House floor which angered many conservatives.

McMurray wished death on Trump supporters after the America last bill passed the House.

Nearly 700 migrants from the People’s Republic of China have been apprehended in just one week for illegally crossing the California border from Mexico, according to a new report.

The number only includes those busted in the San Diego region during the third week of April.

Breitbart News reports:

A CBP source, not authorized to speak to the media, told Breitbart Texas the number of Chinese migrants apprehended represents a more than threefold increase from the same time last year. The source told Breitbart that China is now within the top ten nationalities encountered by the Border Patrol along the southern border. The bulk of the Chinese nationals are released into the United States almost immediately the source says as China adamantly refuses to take their citizens back.

“We have only conducted one repatriation flight back to China recently,” the source lamented. “Until that changes, unless we have specific derogatory information about an individual, we are releasing. There’s just no other option.”

The agency remains baffled by the continued increase in Chinese migrant arrivals. Twice as many PRC nationals entered Southern California during the third week of April than the entire 2021 fiscal year when a total of 342 PRC nationals were encountered by the Border Patrol along the entire Southwest border. According to the source, intelligence debriefings yield little information about the migrants and their purpose for entering. The language barrier and the sheer volume of crossings and apprehensions is a major challenge according to the source.

“We want to focus on the threats posed by the Government of China and not cast aspersions on all the people of China, but governments are people and at this point,” the CBP source told the outlet. “We are in the dark concerning who is a foe and who is a friend.”
