Joe Biden slurred through remarks at the dinner.

At one point Joe Biden said Barack Obama is a member of the African diaspora.

“Jill and I are honored to have you here and we’re representing, including many members of the African diaspora. One just left — Barack,” Biden said.

The attendees sat there in shock for a few seconds before erupting in laughter.

Buying and selling carbon credits has become a great way for companies to signal their commitment to the environment, allowing them to keep polluting while also earning a profit on trading carbon credits.

If you pay a poor country not to cut down their forests, you can earn a lot of carbon credits. These credits can then be used to burn coal and produce more emissions. Whether the country actually planned to cut down the forest is irrelevant. Investigators have found that at least part of the carbon-neutral claims by airlines are backed by credits earned from preventing deforestation of forests that were never under threat.

The goal of most participants in the climate farce is not effectiveness. By writing a check, they can claim they just “saved” the world. Moreover, the amount of carbon credits they earn is not based on the money they spent, but on an estimate of how much pollution they supposedly averted.

Every year, China leads the world in coal consumption, burning 4,319,921,826 tons for everything from electricity generation to steel production. But it is deemed acceptable because China also plants a lot of trees and has created a market for trading carbon credits. China’s State Council Information Office assures us that “China’s sustained afforestation efforts green the world.” According to climate logic, China’s State Council is correct. By planting trees and establishing a market for tradable carbon credits, China has “signaled” its commitment to the environment. And signaling appears to be the new goal.

Carbon credits allow companies to meet Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards and virtue signal, without necessarily reducing global emissions. Meanwhile, these credits and environmental standards add costs to companies and countries that comply, while countries like China continue to emit pollutants and produce cheap products. Even Greenpeace agrees that carbon credits are a scam, calling them “greenwashing” and “window dressing.”

“Net zero” and “carbon neutral,” the mantras of the climate crowd, do not necessarily mean that companies stop producing emissions. These terms mean that companies balance their emissions by reducing what they can and buying enough carbon credits to offset the remaining pollution. However, there is no standard for how much they must reduce versus how much they should offset. So theoretically, they could offset 100% without reducing emissions at all.

In cap-and-trade systems, a government or regulatory body sets a cap on the total amount of greenhouse gases that can be emitted. Companies are issued a certain number of carbon credits and can trade them in a market. If a company emits less than its allotted amount, it can sell its excess credits to other companies that are exceeding their limits. Organizations can also purchase carbon credits voluntarily to offset their emissions.

When companies have already used up their credits but still need to create pollution, they can earn more carbon credits by planting trees, preventing deforestation, and developing wind, solar, or hydroelectric power to replace fossil fuels. Additionally, they can collect methane from landfills or agriculture to prevent its release into the atmosphere. These credits are often generated through projects that reduce or sequester greenhouse gases, such as reforestation, renewable energy projects, or energy efficiency improvements.

The irony of earning carbon credits by developing wind, solar, and alternative energy projects is that the company itself doesn’t need to switch to renewable energy. Instead, it can finance the installation of a windmill in a village in Bangladesh, thousands of miles away. There is no requirement that the village was previously burning coal or even had electricity. Furthermore, whether the village actually uses the windmill is not directly relevant. The company earns the credits based on the estimated amount of carbon emissions saved by the project, which is calculated and verified during the certification process. This certification can be done by a variety of institutions or organizations.

Carbon credits have faced criticism due to concerns about the proper verification of projects and the reality and permanence of the claimed reductions. Many of these reductions are highly subjective. For example, it is unrealistic to estimate the pollution that would have been created to power a village that did not previously have electricity.

There is generally no follow-up to see if the claimed reductions actually took place. As with taxes, accounting tricks can be used to exaggerate the amount of carbon reduction. However, unlike taxes, there is no overarching authority to audit the climate books. At the same time, do we really want an overarching authority with the power to audit and punish based on climate calculations?

Shell Oil became the target of international media when it was discovered they were playing a massive carbon credit shell game in China. Shell claimed thousands of credits for convincing Chinese farmers to use a carbon-saving farming method that about half of them had been using before the project even began. Even more comical was that the broker for these credits was PetroChina, a Chinese state-owned oil company. While numerous investigators and media have called these credits questionable, there is no mechanism in place to recoup the money Shell made in this process.

Ultimately, carbon credits incentivize the buying and selling of carbon credits, rather than reducing the amount of pollution companies produce. Shell is a classic example of this; the company now has a very lucrative business line of creating and selling carbon credits.

Nintendo’s new “Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door” video game will feature a transgender character.

The transgender character, Vivian, was a biological male who was bullied for identifying as female in the original 2004 Japanese version — but was bullied for being “ugly” instead in the version released in the United States.

“Truth is, it took me a while to realize I was their sister… not their brother,” the character says in the game. “Now their usual bullying feels heavier.”

ComicBook.com explains, “When Vivian is first introduced to players, the character starts out as a villain working for the X-Nauts alongside her sisters. While Vivian refers to the group as The Three Shadow Sisters, Beldam corrects her, insisting that the name is less ‘mysterious and scary’ compared to The Three Shadows. Vivian, saddened, tells Beldam that ‘it makes me really happy when you call me your sister.’ This leads to some bullying from Beldam, who calls out Vivian for being ‘insufferably sappy.’ This scene lays the groundwork for Vivian joining Mario’s party later, where things are more firmly established. ”

The New York Post reports:

The main difference in the new 2024 edition is that the teasing is toned down, with game-makers adopting a more celebratory attitude towards Vivian’s trans identity.

Meanwhile, Vivian is not the first transgender video game character to grace the console screen of late.

In February 2023, Harry Potter video game “Hogwarts Legacy” featured the HP world’s first ever trans character: Sirona Ryan, a barkeep who runs the Three Broomsticks tavern in Hogsmeade village.

The game will initially be available on the Switch.

The greeting ceremony on the South Lawn earlier Thursday was a disaster. Biden struggled with simple directions and could barely walk.

Later Thursday evening Jill and Joe hosted the Kenyan president for an entertainment reception on the South Lawn.

Jill Biden donned an ill-fitting tacky blue sequin dress to the State Dinner.

Morgan Spurlock, the filmmaker of the hit documentary “Super Size Me,” has died at 53.

According to a statement from Spurlock’s family, the award-winning director died after having complications with cancer.

His brother Craig Spurlock told the press, “The world has lost a true creative genius and a special man.”

Morgan Spurlock rose to fame after releasing the hit documentary film Super Size Me, a documentary of him eating McDonald’s food for 30 days in a row for every meal.

At the end of the documentary, Spurlock revealed he gained 24.5 pounds, increased his body mass by 13%, increased his cholesterol, and experienced sexual dysfunction.

Morgan Spurlock, the filmmaker behind the award-winning documentary “Super Size Me,” died from cancer complications, his family announced on Friday.

“Morgan gave so much through his art, ideas, and generosity,” his brother, Craig Spurlock, said in a statement. “The world has lost a true creative genius and a special man.”

Spurlock died Thursday, according to his family. He was 53 years old.

The documentarian and director from West Virginia famously ate fast food for 30 days to create his hit 2004 film, during which Spurlock claimed to only consume McDonald’s menu items for all three meals, which highlighted the radical impact that diet had on his physical and psychological health.

This was the largest political rally in New York’s bluest borough in years. At least 10,000 and up to 30,000 supporters came out to see President Trump.

During his speech in Cotrona Park, popular rappers Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow joined him on stage. The rappers endorsed Donald Trump for president – during his Bronx rally!

Governor Gavin Newsom has introduced legislation to allow Arizona abortion providers to give their patients the procedure in California.

The California bill will fast-track abortionists to be able to operate in the state and went into effect immediately upon being signed by Newsom.

Nearly all abortions were set to be banned in Arizona on June 8, except to save the life of the mother — but it has since been repealed by the state legislature. The state will now revert to allowing abortion up until 15 weeks.

The California bill, introduced by Newsom last month, will allow Arizona abortionists to be approved to work in the Golden State within five business days of submitting their application.

According to a report from The Hill, the bill “passed in California’s state Senate in a 30-8 vote on Tuesday, with the backing of the California Legislative Women’s Caucus.”

“Arizona Republicans tried to turn back the clock to 1864 to impose a near-total abortion ban across their state. We refuse to stand by and acquiesce to their oppressive and dangerous attacks on women,” Newsom said in a statement on Thursday.

Newsom, a surrogate for President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign, has been extremely focused on abortion access.

The Associated Press reports, “Using money left over from his 2022 reelection campaign, Newsom started a political action committee he calls the “ Campaign for Democracy ” that has paid for billboards and TV ads in Republican-led states to criticize their leaders’ attempts to outlaw or restrict access to abortions. In February, he launched ads in multiple states to criticize proposals there that aimed to prohibit out-of-state travel for abortions.”

Alabama’s abortion ban has no exceptions for rape or incest.

There are questions but no answers as of yet regarding an early May shooting that involved a member of the U.S. Army Special Operations Command and a native of Chechnya.

What is certain is that on May 3, Ramzan Daraev, 35, of Chicago was killed in Moore County, North Carolina, after a trespasser was reported, according to WNCN-TV.

The shooter is part of Army Special Operations Command, according to Army representative Jacqueline Hill, although his name and rank are not being disclosed.

Daraev was shot multiple times and was found on private property near a power line. He is alleged to have been a subcontractor with New Jersey-based Utilities One.

However, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office said Daraev had no utility equipment, utility clothing or identification on him when he was killed.

Agencies including the U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration and FBI are all involved.

“Investigators are diligently working to gather all relevant information prior to concluding the investigation, including autopsy reports and findings from the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office,” a news release from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office said.

“Once all facts have been collected and reviewed, the case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office for a determination on whether criminal charges will be pursued. The Moore County Sheriff’s Office is committed to conducting a thorough and impartial investigation,” the statement said.

The shooting took place at about 8:15 p.m. in Carthage, according to the Fayetteville Observer.

The Observer said the alleged shooter is stationed at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.

The U.S. Army Special Operations Command had no comment on the incident.

“Per policy, we do not comment on active investigations to protect the process’ integrity. We appreciate the dedication of the Moore County Sheriff’s Department as they investigate,” the USASOC statement said.

There was comment by way of an accusatory Change.org petition that said the victim was a native of Chechnya and was “killed in cold blood.”

“Ramzan was not armed and did not show any aggression towards the killer,” the petition said.

“We are Ramzan’s family, we ask you to support this petition so that the culprit in Ramzan’s death receives the deserved punishment. The police, after a short interview with the killer, released the killer home,” the petition said.

The petition said the victim was hit four times. “One of the bullets hit the hand, two in his back and one, which we see as ‘the last one’ was made in the face,” the petition claimed.

President Donald Trump expressed severe doubts about Joe Biden’s capability to serve, let alone run in the 2024 November presidential election.

Speaking on WABC 770 AM’s “Cats & Cosby Show,” Trump launched a vehement attack on Biden’s mental acuity and leadership, suggesting that Biden is not only unfit to govern but also unlikely to be the Democratic contender this November.

Host John Catsimatidis discussed Biden’s foreign policy, saying, “We can’t take care of the whole world. I don’t understand what President Biden is doing and why he’s doing it.”

“He’s shot, and he doesn’t understand it either,” Trump said.

Trump suggested that Biden is merely a puppet in the hands of more radical elements within his administration.

he’s surrounded by a bunch of Marxists, a bunch of fascists, and they want to keep their jobs, and they want to destroy our country. But he has no clue, he doesn’t, if you look at him, he doesn’t know where he is,” Trump said.

Trump cast significant doubt over Biden’s participation in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. “And I doubt he will even be running frankly, I just can’t even imagine it.”

Earlier this year, an article by New York Post legendary gossip columnist Cindy Adams reported Barack and Michelle Obama are angling to replace Joe Biden with former First Lady Michelle as the Democrats’ 2024 presidential nominee.

Adams reports Michelle Obama has surveyed “Dem biggies” about her potential candidacy and in 2022 reportedly told a gathering of CEOs in New York City she was running.

Adams reveals that a secret plan has emerged to throw Old Joe under the bus. She claims it comes from “credible sources few have access to and usually not meant for the noses of the media.”

Per Adams, here is how the plot will work:

Around May, Biden announces he’s not running (even mentally). The so-called plot is that come the August convention, ­Michelle gets nominated.

Next step, Hunter’s father — the temp — drops out just before that convention.

For now, he still play-acts like he’s a real candidate.

According to ABC News, “Washington state has just joined Ohio and Alabama in signifying through election officials that President Joe Biden could be left off their general election ballots due to conflicts between the dates of the Democratic National Committee’s nominating convention and state ballot deadlines.”

“On Thursday, the director of elections at the office of Washington’s Secretary of State sent a letter — obtained by ABC News — to DNC Chair Jamie Harrison, warning that the deadline for ballot certification under state law falls on Aug. 20, the day after the DNC convenes in Chicago to nominate their presidential and vice presidential selections. Stuart Holmes, the Director of Elections under Democratic Secretary Steve Hobbs, signaled that their office would make an exception for the party if they submit a provisional certification of nomination no later than Aug. 20, according to the letter,” the news outlet added.
