Major Victory: Texas AG Ken Paxton Crushes Biden’s Overreach, Blocks Radical ‘Transgender’ Policies in Schools Nationwide

In a landmark decision, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has secured a major win against the Biden regime’s Department of Education (DOE), halting its efforts to enforce radical “transgender” policies in Texan educational institutions.

This move effectively challenges the administration’s attempt to reinterpret Title IX to include “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” as protected classes, in clear violation of both state and federal laws.

In June 2023, Paxton filed a lawsuit against DOE for an illegal attempt to coerce schools into adopting “transgender” ideology by threatening the loss of federal education funds.

According to the press release:

Title IX is a federal statute that prohibits discrimination “on the basis of sex” in educational institutions. Under Biden, the Department of Education has issued guidance arbitrarily expanding this category to include “sexual orientation” and “gender identity.” The guidance risks federal education funding for Texas colleges and universities as well as all Texas K-12 schools receiving any amount of federal funding by unlawfully asserting that these conceptions promoted by the extremist transgender movement are covered by Title IX protections.

Examples purported by the Biden Administration to be violations of Title IX include teachers failing to forcibly compel students to use classmates’ so-called “preferred pronouns,” schools’ policies enforcing separate bathroom facilities for biological males and females, and schools’ policies refusing to allow biological males to compete on female sports teams. Under this doctrine, Texas schools would be investigated by the federal government for following Texas law, including Chapter 33 of the Education Code protecting the integrity of school athletics participation on the basis of biological sex.

Texas is challenging this blatant attempt to misuse federal regulatory power to force K-12 schools, colleges, and universities in our state to accept and implement “transgender” ideology—in violation of state law—by misusing the Title IX statute to threaten the withholding of federal education funds. The Administration’s unlawful guidance could put at risk over $6 billion in federal funding that supports Texas K-12 and higher education institutions.

In April 2024, the Biden regime announced that women will be forced to allow men in their locker rooms and bathrooms with a new 1577-page Title IX ruling. Women will be forced to compete against men, and accept men on their sports teams. Women and young girls will be required to share locker rooms and bathrooms based on gender identity rather than biological sex.

Now, the court has ruled in favor of Paxton, stating that the “Department lacks authority to redefine “sex” in a way that conflicts with Title IX.”

“Joe Biden’s unlawful effort to weaponize Title IX for his extremist agenda has been stopped in its tracks,” said Attorney General Paxton. “Threatening to withhold education funding by forcing states to accept ‘transgender’ policies that put women in danger was plainly illegal. Texas has prevailed on behalf of the entire Nation.”

The court order explains: “[The Biden Administration] failed to follow the proper procedures here. Rather than promote the equal opportunity, dignity, and respect that Title IX demands for both biological sexes, [the DOE’s] Guidance Documents do the opposite in an effort to advance an agenda wholly divorced from the text, structure, and contemporary context of Title IX.… Thus, to allow [the Biden Administration’s] unlawful action to stand would be to functionally rewrite Title IX in a way that shockingly transforms American education and usurps a major question from Congress. That is not how our democratic system functions.”

Arizona House Committee Seeks to Impeach Democrat Attorney General Kris Mayes After Finding That She Abused Power, Neglected Legal Duties, and Committed Malfeasance in Office

Arizona AG Kris Mayes

The Arizona House Ad Hoc Committee on Executive Oversight recently released a report finding that Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes “abused her power, neglected her duty, and committed malfeasance in office” and recommended her impeachment.

Recall that the 2022 election in Arizona was rigged and stolen when 60% of machines failed on election day in the state’s largest county. Trump-Endorsed Republican Arizona Attorney General Nominee Abe Hamadeh reportedly lost by 280 votes out of more than 2.5 million ballots.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, calls to impeach Kris Mayes grew last year after news that she had targeted conservative county election officials who questioned her fraudulent election and are fighting for honest elections moving forward.

An Arizona grand jury indicted Republican Cochise County Supervisors Tom Crosby and Peggy Judd on felony charges of Interference with an Election Officer and Conspiracy — all because they wanted to ensure accuracy with a hand count audit of the stolen 2022 election before officially certifying.

This is perfectly legal as ARS 16-622(A) gives Arizona County Supervisors discretion over canvassing election results, and ARS 16-602(B) requires County Supervisors to conduct a hand count audit of “at least two percent of the precincts in that county.”

The political persecution of Judd and Crosby, as well as a frivolous 2023 lawsuit against Cochise County for attempting to expand their 2022 election hand count, are cited in the report as examples of Mayes’ abuse of power.

Additionally, according to the Ad Hoc committee’s report, “In November 2023, Attorney General Mayes threatened the Mohave County Board of Supervisors with criminal and civil penalties if they voted contrary to her legal opinion,” warning that “an illegally expanded hand count may result in various felony and misdemeanor penalties.”

More recently, a grand jury convened by Kris Mayes and stacked with Trump-hating leftists indicted Trump 2020 alternate electors, Trump attorneys, and GOP activists for casting an alternative slate of electors after the 2020 election.

The report also cites Mayes’ weaponization of her office to further her pro-abortion agenda, attack Arizona farmers, and refuse to defend state laws in court, namely the Save Women’s Sports Act, which would have prevented biological males from competing against females in school sports.

Mayes also “hindered the Committee’s work by failing to timely respond to information and records requests and by refusing to testify.” In a statement to ABC 15, a spokesperson for the Attorney General’s office said, “This partisan stunt by far-right members of the legislature makes a mockery of real legislative oversight. It is based on nothing more than political and policy disagreements that legislators like Rep. Jacqueline Parker have with Attorney General Mayes.”

More below:

Arizona Sun Times reports,

Five Republican committee members on a special House panel initiated impeachment proceedings against Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes on Friday. The lawmakers accused her of abuse of power, neglect of duties, and malfeasance in office.

State Representative Jacqueline Parker (R-Mesa) (pictured above, foreground), who chairs the panel, announced the release of a 102-page report detailing these allegations, which has stirred significant political controversy.

The committee’s investigation highlighted Mayes’ use of legal resources to target political opponents, described as “law-fare.” Mayes has dismissed the report as a partisan attack by “radical Republicans aimed at undermining her work.” Democrats assigned to the committee refused to participate. Mayes spokesperson said, “The investigative report released today by the sham House ad hoc oversight committee isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on. This partisan stunt by far-right members of the Legislature makes a mockery of real legislative oversight.”

Parker said, “The people of Arizona deserve better from the state’s chief legal officer. … I hope all House members will thoroughly review the Committee’s report and findings and agree to impeach Attorney General Mayes…”.

Per the report:

The House Ad Hoc Committee on Executive Oversight has investigated Attorney General Kris Mayes for misconduct in office. The Committee finds that Attorney General Mayes has abused her power, neglected her duty, and committed malfeasance in office.

1. Attorney General Mayes threatened the Mohave County Board of Supervisors in November 2023 with personal criminal and civil penalties if they voted contrary to her unsolicited legal opinion. Attorney General Mayes’ threat affected at least one vote in the Board’s 3-2 decision. The Attorney General does not have authority to declare existing law or to threaten public officials with criminal or civil penalties if they vote against her wishes. The Committee finds that Attorney General Mayes abused her power and committed malfeasance in office.

2. Attorney General Mayes used the legal system to attack her political opponents by suing Cochise County and its Board of Supervisors and making irrelevant and inflammatory accusations against them. The Committee obtained some evidence relating to this lawsuit, but Attorney General Mayes has not fully produced records that the Committee requested more than eight weeks ago. The Committee finds that Attorney General Mayes abused her power.

3. Attorney General Mayes issued a consumer alert filled with deception, fraud, and misrepresentations about Arizona organizations providing health care services to women. Attorney General Mayes failed to produce any Arizona evidence supporting the statements in her alert. The Committee finds that Attorney General Mayes abused her power by issuing an alert that runs contrary to the Consumer Fraud Act.

4. Attorney General Mayes hosted town halls, threatened public nuisance lawsuits, and advocated for ballot measures relating to groundwater use. Arizona law protects farmers from such litigation and prohibits electioneering with public funds. The Committee finds that Attorney General Mayes abused her power by using public resources to attempt to influence an election and proposing action—filing a lawsuit or referring a measure to the ballot—the Attorney General does not have authority to take.

5. Attorney General Mayes refused to defend the Save Women’s Sports Act when challenged in court by disqualifying her office, and she refused to explain her decision to the Committee. Attorney General Mayes also has refused to defend other state laws. The Committee finds that Attorney General Mayes neglected her duty by failing to defend state laws.

6. Attorney General Mayes hindered the Committee’s work by failing to timely respond to information and records requests and by refusing to testify. The Committee finds that Attorney General Mayes neglected her duty by failing to adequately respond to the Committee.

For these reasons, the Committee finds that Attorney General Mayes has committed impeachable offenses. The Committee recommends the House adopt a resolution impeaching Attorney General Mayes and appointing a board of managers to prosecute her at a Senate trial.

RIP David Boaz, Libertarian Nonpareil

RIP David Boaz, Libertarian Nonpareil

Boaz was the first to try to push the GOP past Bushism.

David Boaz was long the public face of both the Cato Institute and Beltway libertarianism, arguing for free markets and civil liberties across multiple media platforms for more than 40 years.

Like the think tank he served, Boaz was a non-fusionist libertarian. That means, to put it simply, that he didn’t work within the conservative framework or necessarily try to balance the tensions between liberty and virtue. He was on team liberty.

Nevertheless, Boaz was arguably somewhat conservative within the broader libertarian movement, though it is certainly not a label he would have accepted. Inside the Libertarian Party, he would have been a relative pragmatist, aligned with the wing of the LP that frequently supports ex-Republicans for office. But a Mises Caucus type he pointedly was not.

More importantly, Boaz frequently worked with conservatives on areas of common ground. He also frequently pushed his small-government message to center-right audiences, which were usually at least receptive when Democrats control the White House or Congress, though less so when Republicans hold power.

To my surprise, it’s been 16 years since I reviewed Boaz’s The Politics of Freedom: Taking on the Left, the Right, and Threats to Our Liberties alongside Grover Norquist’s latest book at the time for The American Conservative. George W. Bush’s second term was wrapping up and it was not a good time for the Republican Party or the country.

The economy was in recession amid the worst global financial crisis since the Great Depression. The surge, while declared a success by the White House and its media allies, had failed to solve the fundamental problems with the Iraq War. Bush’s job approval rating would soon bottom out at 25 percent in the Gallup poll.

It was apparent to all but the most partisan that what the Republican Party was doing wasn’t working. (Donald Trump would later tell Jeb Bush in a debate that, by the time his brother was done as president, Abraham Lincoln couldn’t have won the next election.)

Bush had tried a few things Boaz might have recommended. “Republicans win when they cut taxes,” he wrote. But Bush’s No Child Left Behind became more of a boondoggle than a victory for school choice. Medicare Part D, the biggest new entitlement program since Lyndon Johnson was president, was a high (deficit-financed) price to pay for the meager accompanying free-market reforms. Partial Social Security privatization didn’t go anywhere at all despite Republicans holding 55 Senate seats after the 2004 elections, though that might have been a blessing given the stock market collapse that was soon to come.

Boaz argued that there was an important swing vote of small-l libertarians that Republicans had alienated through their record of “war, wiretapping, and welfare-state social spending.” He and David Kirby, then of America’s Future Foundation, found Bush lost 13 points among such voters between 2000 and 2004, though it should be noted that he improved his overall national vote share.

Still, libertarians were the first political force to try to push the Republican Party in a non-Bush direction, even if Ron Paul was not exactly Boaz’s particular flavor of libertarianism. What perhaps more permanently disassociated the GOP from Bushism was a good bit less to Boaz’s liking.

When the Tea Party was all the rage, it looked like populism was going to be channeled in a more libertarian form. Middle American Radicals appeared to be more animated by fiscal concerns and worries about the waning constitutional character of the federal government than social issues or the culture war. That now seems as quaint as Gerald Ford Republicanism all these years later. The GOP cannot live by tax cuts alone.

Boaz fought as much over the years about some of these overriding issues with his rivals inside of libertarianism as he did with his conservative friends. He was, in the classical sense, a liberal at heart. And while the Right is especially moving away from some of the emphases and attitudes of Boazian libertarianism in a more populist and communitarian direction, his impact will still be felt long after his death.

There are many people who got their start in politics, policy, and ideas from Boaz, some of them conservative, though perhaps at least as many of them not. This was especially true during the time period when doves were not permitted to fly near the conservative think tank world.

Not a bad legacy to leave behind.

Political Disagreement Could Lead to Greater Freedom

Political Polarization Could Lead to Emancipation

When there’s no agreement on policy at the national level, the states can—and will—step in.

Credit: RHONA WISE/AFP via Getty Images

Only one thing we know for sure about the upcoming presidential election: Whoever wins in November, half the country is going to be outraged.  Perhaps beyond outraged—incensed to the point of violence and threats of secession.

Such extreme polarization troubles believers in harmony—which should be all of us.  However, in the course of human events, there are times when the terms of harmony need to be renegotiated.

In fact, there’s an upside to polarization.  A silver lining—even a pot of gold—if we think through the constitutional angles.

Let me explain.

Polarization at the national level brings policy paralysis, as the two sides, red and blue, so mistrust each other that they can’t agree on anything.  Consider: Next year, a hypothetical re-elected President Joe Biden announces some new policy, foreign or domestic.  Immediately, the red half of the country derides it as a dastardly plot by the senile figurehead of the woken.  Similarly, what Democrat will support anything from a hypothetical re-elected bad orange felon?

Yes, presidents of both parties can seek to take bold executive action, and yet here the Congress, the courts, the deep state, the 50 states, the media, the mob, and possibly the U.S. military, will get a “vote” and perhaps a veto.

Amidst all this suspicion and mobilization, the basic purposes of the federal government will be called into question.  Maybe we’re so divided that it’s just not possible for the feds to do much of anything—certainly not anything new.  Consider various signature Biden policies: green energy, electric vehicles, transgenderism, and open-bordersism.  And, oh yes, that Gaza pier.  Each is hitting a wall of opposition in red (and purple) zones, such that Biden’s reelection prospects are diminishing.

But ask yourself: If Trump wins, would MAGA play any better in blue?  We seem to be on a seesaw of recriminations and…criminations.

In fact, this paralyzing hostility is already being “priced in” to national policy, as common support for res publica, the public thing, decays.  A 2023 Pew poll found that just 16 percent of Americans have confidence in the federal government.  That percentage is a fifth of what it was in the 1950s and a third of what it was in the early 2000s.

This era of bad feelings has had fiscal consequences: In 2023 federal revenues stood at just 16.2 percent of GDP, below the average for the last five decades, especially in a non-recession year—even as the deficit and debt continue to pile up.  (Federal spending is more popular than federal taxing.)  Oren Cass, familiar to TAC readers, argues we should raise taxes to get federal revenues up to 19 percent of GDP.

But what if Americans, across the spectrum, recoil at the thought of rendering more to Caesar, be he blue or red?  Republican opposition to tax increases is well documented, and Democratic opposition to anything with Trump’s name on it is also well documented.  This is not the basis for a successful budget deal.

Maybe, in its bones, the country senses that the proud tower of Washington, D.C. is too proud.  Republicans loathe the deep state, including the lawfarers at the FBI, while Democrats despise the Alito-fied Supreme Court and whatever might emerge from the Trumpy Project 2025.

In such a precariously top-heavy situation, the wise course is planned deconfliction.  That is, carefully remove some jenga blocks from the stack—make the federal government less powerful—to lessen the potential harm that Biden or Trump (depending on your point of view) could wreak.

In fact, both sides, red and blue, would benefit if the federal government could not be wielded as a hammer against its political foes.  Does Oregon want to be part of any Trump “drill, baby, drill” energy plan?  Will Massachusetts enlist in Republican transgender policy?  No more than Arkansas or Wyoming will embrace Biden prescriptions on, well, anything.

We hold this truth to be self-evident: In a diverse country of 340 million, there’s no national consensus on a host of issues—so why pretend otherwise?  Why phony up a lame national policy that merely wet-blankets heaving tides and animal spirits?

The recognition of difference, after all, is the beginning of constructive experimentation among the states and other jurisdictions.   Different variables are needed, of course, to compare and contrast the results.

So polarization can actually be good if it brings with it the emancipation of policy creativity: the liberty of opportunity.

Interestingly, the MAGA man himself has anticipated this direction. Defying Republican orthodoxy on abortion, he has advanced a popularist platform—let each state decide its abortion policy.  To be sure, this semi-faire approach angers Right to Lifers, but it has the wisdom of realism.  You want trouble in America?  Try prosecuting an abortion doctor in Portland—either Portland.

This is federalism, also known as states’ rights.  It’s exactly what the Founders had in mind, and it also grooves with the thinking of one of the great liberals of Supreme Court history, Justice Louis Brandeis, who maintained the states should be the “laboratories of democracy.”

So what if this neo-Calhounian idea of states’ rights were to spread?  In fact, it already has: Blue states have spearheaded progressive victories that Trump, as president, and the GOP barely touched; 24 states let the good times roll on marijuana. Yet revealingly as to Uncle Sam’s impotence, marijuana is still illegal under federal law; one Congressional report politely refers to this disjuncture as a “policy gap.”  These days, the Bidenized Justice Department looks the other way as people puff—would a Republican attorney general really start looking to prosecute tokers?

In fact, the left as well as the right love to celebrate state-based acts of #resistance to federal power. Democrats recall that back in the day, California Governor Gavin Newsom sued the Trump administration more than 100 times—and no doubt stands ready to do it all over again.

Meanwhile, Republicans savor the success of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who became a star in opposition to Biden’s feds. Today, a whopping 49 percent of K-12 students are now enjoying some form of school choice; as a result, many Sunshine State public schools are closing or consolidating. This trend, viewed with alarm by Team DEI, is causing genuine economic, as well as political, losses to the unionized left—and commensurate gains for private schoolers, home schoolers, and entrepreneurs.

Yes, a laboratory of democracy is also a laboratory of prosperity.  So investors should be paying close attention to these policy trends, eyeing opportunity as it sprouts up from liberty.

For example, this June 5 headline: “Texas Stock Exchange: A potential game-changer for investors, economy in Dallas.”  This TXSE assays to be a rival to the NYSE—the New York Stock Exchange.

For sure, the NYSE is prodigious, valued at $28 trillion.  And yet the backers of the TXSE are well-funded as well, including Citadel, run by Ken Griffin, a Republican, and BlackRock, run by Larry Fink, a Democrat.

Yet now Griffin and Fink are looking past their partisan differences, jointly focused instead on building an investment hub in a state with a pro-business climate, no Alvin Bragg, and zero income tax—in contrast to Manhattan, where the combined state and city top tax rate is an anti-Lafferite 14.7 percent.

This is the new political economy of MAGA: polarization > differentiation > state-based maximization.  BlackRock will remain in Manhattan, where it has become a sort of BlueRock, solicitous of Democratic priorities.  Yet at the same time Fink & Co. are helping to spawn a RedRock in Texas. (Nobody should think that capitalism lacks for flexibility; it can be blue, it can be red, it can be any color the customer wants.)

It’s possible to foresee the TXSE leveraging its geographic location in lucrative ways.  For instance, the TXSE could seek a carveout from the strictures of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).  How so?  Maybe by looking to the Southwest Airlines precedent.  Founded in Texas in 1967, the airline declared itself exempt from the dirigiste hand of the federal Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) because it only operated only intrastate, not interstate.  Litigation followed, and Southwest won.  Only in 1980, when the dead-handed CAB itself was finally interred, did Southwest go national.

In the meantime, the SEC grows more imperious, as bureaucracies are wont to do. Pushing on new frontiers of red-taping and green hectoring, the agency now monitors companies’ carbon dioxide.  But that’s not enough: The SEC is also power-grabbing a consolidated audit trail (CAT), which gives it surveillance powers rivaling those of the National Security Agency and the Centers for Disease Control.  In the words of one plaintiff, “The unconstitutional CAT is the largest government-mandated mass collection of personal financial data in American history. Without any statutory authorization from Congress, SEC is forcing brokers, exchanges, clearing agencies and alternative trading systems to capture and send detailed information on every investor’s trades in U.S. markets to a centralized database, which SEC and private regulators can access forever (but whose security they cannot ensure).”

Of course, there’s more than one opinion on this new reg.  CAT will likely play better in Vermont than it will in Idaho.

So we should be able to say to Blue: If you like your SEC, you can keep it.  But if you don’t, go to Texas and the TXSE.  Let state-based laboratories prove up the right regulatory formula, confident that if there’s a teachable moment of damage done, at least it will be compartmentalized.

There’s more: We could make a list of political passions that are also economic and investment projects, including cryptocurrency, medical innovation, and desalination.

Arrayed against this polymorphism is the federal monolith.  But let’s ask: Does the record of the federal government—led by red, or led by blue—fill the reasonable person with confidence that the central state knows what it’s doing?  And if there’s four more years of either Biden, or Trump, the centrifugality on the federal government will be, well, unhinging.

So why not draw inspiration from Nevada, that profitable pioneer in state-based subsidiarity?  Back in 1931, when there were more tumbleweeds than residents, Nevada flouted federal gambling inhibitions, opening the door to casinos. The rest is glittering enterprise-zone history.

To be sure, sins of chance are not for everyone.  Happily, there are plenty of other ways to think about economic development.  And yet many of them—financial, pharmaceutical, geological—would require  some sort of exemption from Uncle Sam’s lowest bureaucratic denominator.

Here’s the bottom line: The same polarization that stops the feds from acting at the national level could also stop the feds from squelching a state that’s innovating.  Indeed, net national wellbeing would be increased as the negative energy of Procrustean enforcement was replaced by the positive vibes of Apollonian achievement. We’d actually get along better if we weren’t so much in each other’s business.

Probably nobody has ever thought of Trump as a harmonizer, and yet, however inadvertently, MAGA could be the torque that tinkers the nation, and the states, into a better, lower-pressure, arrangement.  More sustainable, one might say.

When Leviathan slumbers, the citizens, and their fresh visions, can rise and shine.

Europe Votes Against the Ukraine War

Europe Votes Against the Ukraine War

In Sunday’s elections, the continent’s national-conservative parties took an important step forward, breaking out of their narrow focus on immigration.

Credit: Sean Gallup/Getty Images

Just before voters delivered a stunning rebuke to the parties of the Establishment in the June 9 European Parliament elections, internal pollsters for the Alternative für Deutschland (Alternative for Germany) reported that the Ukraine war was the top concern for German voters. Twenty-six percent of respondents said that “securing peace” was their number one concern, followed by social security (at 23 percent) and immigration at 17 percent, according to an AfD internal document.

Germany’s peace parties—the AfD and the left-wing Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance—won 16 percent and 6 percent of the vote respectively, while the governing Social Democrats polled just 14 percent, while the Greens—now the most vociferous supporter of the Ukraine War—fell to 12 percent from 20.5 percent in the 2019 elections.

France’s President Emmanuel Macron, the European leader most anxious to send troops to Ukraine, suffered a surprise humiliation. His party polled less than 15 percent of the vote, while the right-wing National Rally gained 31 percent. Unlike Germany, where the peace parties were the biggest winners, the French right has fudged its position on the Ukraine War. But the repudiation of Europe’s leader most willing to commit Western troops is a gauge of antiwar sentiment.

Sunday’s vote was a protest, but not yet a revolution. Western Europe’s national-conservative parties have broken out of the one-issue, anti-immigration mold, but they are not yet ready to govern their respective countries. In Eastern Europe, Hungary, Slovakia, and Serbia comprise an antiwar bloc, probably to be joined by the Czech Republic after the October 2025 elections.

Nonetheless, the political earthquake that shook Europe on Sunday could have far-reaching consequences before the end of this year.

The next milestone for Europe’s national conservatives comes in September, with provincial elections in three German states—Saxony, Brandenburg, and Thuringia—where the AfD has a decisive lead. Germany’s Establishment parties declare that they will not form a coalition with the AfD under any circumstances, but a possible AfD plurality in three German states might break the blockade.

Mainstream commentators dismiss the national conservative upsurge in Europe as a knee-jerk response to immigration, but the data indicates otherwise: Sunday’s electoral earthquake was a response to voter concern about the danger that the Ukraine war will escalate into a European conflict.

Europe’s Parliament has limited powers, and Germany’s Ursula van der Leyen, a politician of the Establishment, will retain a majority despite the populist upsurge. More important than the European Parliament as such is the tectonic shift in national politics in Europe’s two largest countries, Germany and France.

Only 30 percent of Germans voted for the Social Democrats, Greens, or Free Democrats, the parties that form the governing coalition. The worst performer was the Green Party with 12 percent of the vote, down from nearly 20 percent in the 2019 European Parliament elections. The Social Democrats, once Germany’s largest party, had only 14 percent. A new party formed by Sara Wagenknecht—the wife of the former left-wing SPD leader Oskar LaFontaine—took 6 percent. The small Free Democratic Party came in at just 5 percent, right at the threshold for parliamentary representation.

If these numbers hold until Germany’s next national election in October 2025, there is no political arithmetic by which the Establishment parties could form a parliamentary majority. The Christian Democrats, led by the former Blackrock executive Friedrich Merz, take a more hawkish position on Ukraine than the governing Social Democrats, who have refused to send “trainers” to Ukraine or to allow Germany’s Taurus cruise missile to strike targets inside Russia. But a CDU/CSU coalition with the Greens would have only 42 percent of parliament. The Free Democrats may not cross the 5 percent mark and drop out of the Bundestag. It is theoretically possible for the battered mainstream parties to form a government with a bare majority, but the country would for all purposes be ungovernable.

That’s why September’s regional elections may be a turning point in German politics. In Saxony, the largest East German state, the AfD came in first in the European Parliament elections with 31.8 percent of the vote, with the Christian Democrats in second place at 21.8 percent. In Thuringia, the AfD has 30 percent and the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance has 16 percent, vs. just 20 percent for the Christian Democrats and 7 percent for the SPD. It also leads with 25 percent of the vote in Brandenburg. It is quite possible that the AfD and Wagenknecht’s party may have enough votes to govern one or more of these three states. It is more likely that one of the major parties will have to break the blockade and form a governing coalition with the AfD.

The AfD’s success at the polls on Sunday is all the more remarkable after months of vilification by Germany’s mainstream press and security agencies. The country’s equivalent of the FBI, the Federal Office for Protection of the Constitution, labeled the AfD a “right-wing extremist organization” earlier this year. The AfD sued the government agency, but lost the case in a May 13 court ruling. The AfD’s lead candidate for European Parliament, Maximilian Krah (interviewed in this publication last October), has taken more criticism than any political figure not named Donald Trump. On April 23, an employee in Krah’s parliamentary office was arrested for alleged spying for China; subsequently Bild-Zeitung revealed that the alleged spy, a naturalized German of Chinese origin, was a longstanding informant of Germany’s security services.

Der Spiegel, Germany’s top newsweekly, entitled an April 26 cover story on the AfD, “High Treason,” alleging—without proof—payments from Moscow and Beijing. “The AfD presents itself as patriotic,” Spiegel declared, “but possible payments from Russia and an alleged Chinese spy expose them as traitors to their country.”

The harrowing of the AfD followed the familiar script of Trump’s Russiagate, amplified through the echo chamber of the German media for a month before the election. Nonetheless the AfD did better in Sunday’s election than its leadership expected. Most important, as many young Germans voted for AfD as for the Christian Democrats. That 30 percent of the youth vote, according to exit polls, reflects deep disaffection among young Germans. They don’t want to go to war over Ukraine. They confront aggressive immigrant gangs in their daily lives. And they grumble about the Euro 3,000 per month Bürgergeld, or welfare payment, that their government hands out to a family of four, more than a typical university graduate takes home after taxes. Three-quarters of Bürgergeld recipients are foreigners.

“Why is there such a negative reaction from some about AfD?” tweeted Elon Musk June 9. “They keep saying ‘far right,’ but the policies of AfD that I’ve read about don’t sound extremist. Maybe I’m missing something.” The AfD’s offense isn’t right-wing extremism, but its promotion of German sovereignty in place of an Atlanticist agenda.

In an August 2023 exchange with Tucker Carlson, Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán observed that Germany’s failure to remonstrate with the United States over the bombing of the Nord Stream gas pipeline was “in actual fact, proof of a lack of sovereignty.” The Hungarian prime minister was speaking with precision: The American Deep State has inordinate influence in Germany’s security services, media, think tanks and other institutions of public life. The United States has only 38,000 troops in the country, down from 200,000 at the peak of the Cold War, but the virtual occupation remains in place.

AfD policies can’t be pigeon-holed into pro- or anti-Western categories. Its leaders agree with Hungary’s Orbán about the futility of the Ukraine war. Like Orbán, the AfD has expressed staunch support for Israel throughout the Gaza conflict. It is open to trade and investment with China—but so is Social Democratic Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who took a dozen German CEOs to Beijing in mid-April.

Most AfD leaders are former Christian Democrats who identify with the party of the late Helmut Kohl, the underrated Chancellor who presided over the country’s reunification. Under Angela Merkel’s 16-year-reign, the CDU drifted to the left, supporting the “We can do it” mass immigration of 2016 and shuttering Germany’s nuclear energy industry to appease the Greens.

The AfD wants to be the party that the Christian Democrats should have been. Some of its top leaders concede that it doesn’t yet have the depth of leadership to govern. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint,” one AfD leader told me. Its likely election victories in the three states voting in September, however, will give the AfD its first chance to wield power at the state level. AfD leaders hope this will prepare the party to govern at the national level.

Boston’s Logan Airport is Starting to Look Like a Refugee Camp and the Illegals Just Keep Coming (VIDEO)

Boston’s Logan Airport has been used as a makeshift shelter for illegal immigrants for months now and the numbers have grown to the point where it is starting to look like a refugee camp.

This is a health and safety hazard, not to mention a massive inconvenience for people traveling to and from Boston by plane.

The Democrat Governor Maura Healy is in completely over her head. She clearly has no idea how to deal with this and she can’t say anything negative because that is considered taboo by members of her party.

The New York Post reports:

Boston’s Logan Airport sheltering over 100 migrants with more families arriving ‘at all hours’

The number of migrants being sheltered at Boston Logan Airport appears to have increased, with throngs of families lining a baggage claim surrounded by suitcases and using sparse blankets for makeshift mattresses.

Over a hundred migrants are currently spending their nights sleeping on the floor at the Boston airport, The Post’s new photos show — an apparent uptick in recent weeks from the dozens who were being housed there a few months ago.

“We continue to see migrants at the airport. They come to Logan a number of ways. They also arrive at Logan at all hours,” a representative from MassPort previously told Boston 25 News when the numbers of migrants behind housed at Logan spiked.

But without the proper staff or resources to properly take care of a large population of residents, the migrants are transported out of the airport to state welcome centers daily, then brought back by night, MassPort said.

See the videos below. This is simply not sustainable.

This is inside Logan Airport in Boston. These are illegals. This is insanity.

Do you know how stupid you have to be to vote for a democrat at this point? Voting has consequences. You’re paying for this! pic.twitter.com/qQaq3ZMe2n

At what point do Democrats admit that we can’t do this anymore? It’s not even sanitary.

REPORT: House Democrats Are Already Scrambling to Prepare for a Trump Victory in November

It looks like even House Democrats are expecting Trump to win the 2024 election in November.

They are scrambling to prepare for ways to prevent Trump from putting his agenda in place. This is why it’s important not only for Trump to win but for Republicans to win the House and Senate.

Democrats would not even bother with any of this if they thought Biden was going to sail to reelection. Their fear is very telling.

Politico reported:

House Democrats launch group to respond to possible second Trump term

A group of House Democrats is launching a new task force to respond to the possibility of former President Donald Trump’s return to office.

The group is reacting to the so-called Project 2025, a policy road map for the next presidential administration compiled by the conservative Heritage Foundation. Democrats have sought to turn the blueprint and its government overhaul proposals into a foil as campaign season ramps up.

“This stuff is going to be coming at us at lightspeed. And if we are on our heels and reacting to it, we could lose our democracy. So we’re going to need to be ready to confront it in real time. And those plans need to begin now,” said Rep. Jared Huffman (D-Calif.), one of the lawmakers spearheading the effort.

Democrats want their task force to be a hub for members of Congress, advocacy groups and others to coordinate and respond to a future Trump administration — and to raise awareness during the campaign. Huffman said it would be composed of lawmakers from across the caucus like Reps. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), Mark Pocan (D-Wis.), Diana DeGette (D-Colo.), Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) and Nanette Barragán (D-Calif.).

What happened to the importance of our sacred democracy, Democrats?

If this were a group of Republicans, @politico would be positioning it as a “coup” or “insurrection.” https://t.co/CXSlcdVyHP

Democrats will never again accept a president from the GOP. It’s their intention to harm the nation if they can’t be in control. https://t.co/aVsnLydsFW

New Polling Finds Most Americans Don’t Approve of Biden’s Student Loan Bailout Scam

Most Americans do not approve of Joe Biden’s student loan bailouts, according to new polling.

It’s hardly a surprise. Biden’s plan favors the wealthy and is nothing more than a vote-buying scam meant to appeal to young voters, who he needs and who are abandoning him at a rapid pace.

It’s also important to remember that the U.S. Supreme Court told Biden that he could not do this and he did it anyway and then bragged about defying the nation’s highest court. People see this.

The Washington Examiner reports:

Biden’s loan forgiveness faces low approval

Only 3 in 10 adults approve of President Joe Biden‘s student loan debt forgiveness, according to a recently released poll from the University of Chicago and the Associated Press.

Four of 10 say they disapprove. Combine that with the rest of those respondents saying they are either neutral or don’t know enough to say, and it is clear this move by Biden has failed.

And I mean “failed” in two different contexts.

First and foremost, the initiative was struck down by the Supreme Court in June 2023. The court ruled by a vote of 6-3 that the program doesn’t comply with federal law. Chief Justice John Roberts opined that the decision was nothing more than a simple interpretation.

Biden essentially made and broke a promise.

Yet despite the court’s decision, Biden has refused to give up on the matter and continues to claim that student loan forgiveness is on the horizon for many people. Instead of respecting the judicial branch and focusing his attention elsewhere, he has reiterated boasts about how he will push through with the program in spite of the Supreme Court.

Imagine the outrage from Democrats and the media if Trump bragged about ignoring a ruling from the Supreme Court.

Biden is ripping off taxpayers, many of whom didn’t go to college, in order to buy the votes of college students.

Is there any wonder why this is not popular?

DOJ Exonerates Themselves — Agency Investigates Themselves and Finds No Contact Between Matthew Colangelo and Alvin Bragg’s Office

Joe Biden‘s DOJ hatchet man Matthew Colangelo, and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has conducted an internal investigation and allegedly found no evidence of collusion between its officials, including Joe Biden‘s DOJ hatchet man, Matthew Colangelo, and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office.

The Gateway Pundit reported in April 2023 that Colangelo was the linchpin in the “get Trump” movement in New York, hired by Bragg’s office in December 2022 to spearhead politically motivated investigations against former President Donald Trump.

Bragg’s top prosecutor, Matthew Colangelo, was the Former Acting Associate Attorney General for the U.S. Department of Justice and is a lifelong left-wing activist.

Colangelo’s past is littered with partisan actions, from his role in indicting Americans for praying outside abortion clinics to his involvement in numerous witch-hunt investigations into President Trump.

According to the House Judiciary Committee, Colangelo has taken part in numerous witch hunt investigations into President Trump. Colangelo was hired to “jump start” Alvin Bragg’s unprecedented garbage indictment against Trump.

Colangelo, a former Biden DOJ official and senior attorney at the New York Attorney General’s Office, has previously taken part in multiple investigations into President Trump and was reportedly hired to “jump start” Bragg’s stalled investigation into President Trump.

— House Judiciary GOP (@JudiciaryGOP) April 7, 2023

Attorney Mike Davis, along with Steve Bannon, exposed this apparent deep-state operation in the War Room, detailing how Colangelo, an Obama White House alum, was seemingly recruited to manufacture charges against President Trump.

WATCH:

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) launched an investigation in April 2024 into potential coordination between the Biden DOJ and DA Bragg’s politicized prosecution of President Trump. Jordan called out Colangelo for his role in this apparent abuse of prosecutorial authority.

Under Jordan’s leadership, the House Judiciary Committee has requested numerous documents and communications associated with Colangelo’s position in the DOJ and his involvement with DA Bragg’s office.

1. All documents and communications for the period of January 2021 to December 2022 between or among Mr. Colangelo and any employee, agent, or representative of the New York County District Attorney’s Office, the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, the New York Attorney General’s Office, or the Department of Justice’s Special Counsel’s Office, referring or relating to:

a. President Donald J. Trump;
b. The Trump Organization; or
c. Any other entity owned, controlled by, or associated with President Donald J. Trump;

2. All personnel files related to Mr. Colangelo’s hiring, employment, and termination at
the Department of Justice, including all documents and communications with the
Office of Presidential Personnel about Mr. Colangelo’s hiring;

3. All documents and communications between or among the Justice Department and the New York County District Attorney’s Office referring or relating to the prosecution of President Donald J. Trump;

4. All documents and communications referring or relating to Michael Cohen’s conviction in United States v. Cohen, No. 18-cr-602 (S.D.N.Y. 2018), including any decisional or pre-decisional memoranda relating to the case; and

5. All documents and communications referring or relating to Michael Cohen’s conviction in United States v. Cohen, No. 18-cr-850 (S.D.N.Y. 2018).

Following the guilty verdict against Trump, House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan called Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and Joe Biden‘s DOJ hatchet man Matthew Colangelo to testify before the Weaponization Committee on June 13.

Despite this mounting evidence, the DOJ has decided to turn a blind eye. They’ve conducted what they call a “comprehensive search” for email communications between their leadership, including Colangelo, and the District Attorney’s office regarding any investigation or prosecution of President Trump. Of course, they found none.

Biden’s gestapo DOJ claimed that it did not supervise the work of the District Attorney’s office or approve its charging decisions. It also highlighted that it did not control the District Attorney just as much as the District Attorney did not control the Department.

Read their response to Jim Jordan’s letter:

This responds to your letter to the Department of Justice (Department), dated April 30, 2024, regarding a state criminal trial brought exclusively by the Manhattan District Attorney (District Attorney). This also responds to questions regarding that prosecution and jury verdict posed to the Attorney General during his appearance before the Committee on the Judiciary (Committee) on June 4, 2024.

The Committee has demanded information from the Department because of what you describe as a “perception that the Justice Department is” behind the District Attorney’s so-called “politicized prosecution” and a “perception that the Biden Justice Department is politicized and weaponized” to that end.

The Department does not generally make extensive efforts to rebut conspiratorial speculation, including to avoid the risk of lending it credibility. However, consistent with the Attorney General’s commitment to transparency, the Department has taken extraordinary steps to confirm what was already clear: there is no basis for these false claims.

The Department has conducted a comprehensive search for email communications since January 20, 2021, through the date of the verdict, between any officials in Department leadership, including all political appointees in those offices, and the District Attorney’s office regarding any investigation or prosecution of the former President.2 We found none. This is unsurprising.

The District Attorney’s office is a separate entity from the Department. The Department does not supervise the work of the District Attorney’s office, does not approve its charging decisions, and does not try its cases. The Department has no control over the District Attorney, just as the District Attorney has no control over the Department. The Committee knows this.

The Department’s search included the email account of Matthew Colangelo, a former Department official about whom the Committee has raised numerous unfounded questions. The Department did not identify any instances of Mr. Colangelo having email communications with the District Attorney’s office during his time at the Department. This is also unsurprising.

As a member of the Associate Attorney General’s Office, Mr. Colangelo’s job was to oversee the civil litigation components that report to the Associate’s Office, including the Civil Division, Antitrust Division, Civil Rights Division, and the Environment and Natural Resources Division. Mr. Colangelo departed the Department on December 2, 2022.

Department leadership did not dispatch Mr. Colangelo to the District Attorney’s office, and Department leadership was unaware of his work on the investigation and prosecution involving the former President until it was reported in the news.

The self-justifying “perception” asserted by the Committee is completely baseless, but the Committee continues to traffic it widely. As the Attorney General stated at his hearing, the conspiracy theory that the recent jury verdict in New York state court was somehow controlled by the Department is not only false, it is irresponsible.

Indeed, accusations of wrongdoing made without—and in fact contrary to—evidence undermine confidence in the justice system and have contributed to increased threats of violence and attacks on career law enforcement officials and prosecutors. Our extraordinary efforts to respond to your speculation should put it to rest.

Indeed, the Department’s actual role with respect to the District Attorney’s office regarding this matter is already a matter of public record. As court filings show, both the District Attorney’s office and the former President’s defense team made requests for documents from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York (SDNY).

In response to these requests, SDNY produced records to both parties, including the defense.  The documents were produced to the former President’s attorneys under a protective order imposed by the trial court. In any event, information-sharing between a U.S. Attorney’s Office and local prosecutors is standard and happens every day all over the country.

“This Is Going to be a Mushroom Cloud When We’re Done” – John Solomon on FBI Targeting and Harassing Conservative Agents (VIDEO)

John Solomon and Grant Stinchfield discuss the FBI targeting and expelling conservative agents.

Just the News founder John Solomon joined Grant Stinchfield Tuesday on Stinchfield Tonight to discuss his latest explosive investigation into FBI corruption and political bias.

According to attorney Tristan Leavitt from the Empower Oversight organization, the FBI is purging agents who support President Trump or conservative causes. Tristan discussed the whistleblower who was suspended indefinitely without pay after the Agency discovered he attended the protests on January 6, 2021 at the Ellipse and US Capitol.

On Tuesday John Solomon told Grant Stinchfield that much more is coming – “There is going to be a mushroom cloud when we’re done.”

John Solomon: Well, there are definitely other security clearances have been pulled. One of those were restored this past week as a result of a deal. Actually, last week, the FBI had to admit that they wrongly took it away from Marcus Allen, who was a Marine, a great FBI employee, but they took away his security clearance because he dared to question that maybe the FBI director had given an inaccurate testimony. He just simply wanted to correct the director’s testimony. For that trouble, he went without pay for a long time, two plus years.

So yes, we know what the security plans are. The bigger question is, how many times were security plans called because a political preference question was placed into the documents. When you look at those documents you had, these questions were typed by someone. Then an agent goes out and asks witnesses to answer them. Who typed those questions? Who decided that being a supporter of President Trump, going to our Second Amendment rally, that was another one, a Richmond rally, Second Amendment rally, or expressing skepticism about a vaccine that even Dr. Fauci admits didn’t really work the way they thought it was, that that poses a security clearance.

Who posited these questions? Who made the agents go out and ask these questions? Then the second time is, how often were they asked? The Inspector General of the Justice Department, I expect tomorrow, will announce that he’s opening a full-scale investigation that this is wrong, and then it may be more widespread. We have the lawyers on the show tonight, just before you, and they said they have strong reason to believe many other people ask questions like this during the security clearance. I think this is going to get much bigger. It’s going to be a mushroom cloud when we’re done.

Does this really surprise anyone?

This is the same police force that forces pregnant women outside in freezing weather with their children as they ransack her home because her husband attended the January 6 protests and picked up trash.
