Trump Claims Migrants Are Living in Luxury Hotels

Former President Donald Trump has claimed that migrants released into the United States under President Joe Biden’s administration are being housed in luxury hotels across major cities. This assertion was made during a press conference where Trump criticized the Biden administration’s handling of illegal immigration, emphasizing the impact on American resources and communities.

A review of the situation in New York City supports Trump’s claim to some extent. Migrants have indeed been housed in hotels, some of which could be classified as luxurious.

For instance, New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ administration placed border crossers in the Watson Hotel in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen, a location not typically associated with budget accommodations. This arrangement has led to some controversy and resistance from the migrants themselves, who have at times refused to leave these hotels, demanding even more upscale accommodations on Billionaires Row.

Moreover, reports have emerged that homeless Americans have been displaced from hotels to make room for these migrants. The New York Post highlighted incidents where homeless individuals and even veterans were asked to vacate their rooms to accommodate migrants, further fueling the debate over resource allocation and fairness.

— Bostonians Against Mayor Wu (@AntiWuCoalition) June 27, 2024

The broader picture painted by the data from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shows a significant increase in the number of migrants from diverse regions beyond Central America and Mexico.

This influx includes individuals from Africa, China, Eastern Europe, and other far-reaching areas, highlighting the expanding scope of the immigration challenge.

Critics argue that the Biden administration’s policies have exacerbated the situation by creating incentives for illegal immigration. Programs such as the mobile app allowing migrants to schedule entry into the U.S. and the humanitarian parole plan, which opens up the possibility for hundreds of thousands of additional migrants to enter the country, are cited as factors contributing to the surge.

The situation underscores the ongoing debate over immigration policy in the U.S., with significant implications for both migrants and American citizens. As Trump continues to highlight these issues, they remain a contentious topic in the lead-up to the 2024 election, reflecting broader concerns over national security, economic impact, and social services strain.

INGRASSIA: Trump Won Thursday’s Debate Looking Stronger Than Ever, Biden Sends His Party Into a Frantic Search For Replacement

There was no question who came out victorious after Thursday evening’s debate.  On policy after policy, from the economy to the border to foreign policy, President Trump hit it out of the park.

Biden stuttered and mumbled all throughout the evening.  His voice sounded weak; his hands shook; he looked every bit the octogenarian in terminal decline conservatives portray him – but even worse.  Afterwards Team Biden attributed this to a “cold,” but no cold explains the mental lapses, irritability, and rank incoherence exhibited by the man all throughout those embarrassing ninety minutes on stage.

If it wasn’t already obvious, Biden is a mere figurehead for an administration that is beyond his control or capacity to understand.  He has no idea the destruction he has wrought upon our inner cities, the result of a wide-open border and chaos overseas that have flooded the nation with countless illegal aliens, many of whom are military age men that have ravaged every city in our country from coast to coast.

Nor does Biden recognize the harm caused by his fifty-year high inflation rates, or the weaponization of the justice system which has wreaked havoc upon an untold number of innocent American families who are being penalized for merely exercising their rights to speak and assemble by a vindictive regime out for blood.

President Trump is a genuine statesman and Biden a dithering fool.  President Trump has put everything into this presidential contest – he has been indicted by his political opponent, which is without precedent in all American history.  He faces a sham sentencing in less than two weeks, the product of a relentless witch-hunt that has been waged against him ever since the moment he entered the political arena nine years ago.

He has gone through all of that and stands stronger than ever.  Last night’s debate stood testimony to his own willpower, and the strength of the movement he leads.  He has reduced his opponent into a pathetic shell of a man.  To the point where even CNN and MSNBC, and really every major network, broke into panic calling for Biden’s resignation.  They need him to be replaced as their candidate because of how poor of a performance he gave.

Biden was the furthest thing from a competent leader.  Instead, he looked the part of central casting for a nursing home patient.  Undoubtedly, America’s enemies are emboldened by that grotesque display of weakness.  And our allies are shaking in their boots, counting down the days until the next Trump administration.

For his part, President Trump was very diplomatic even though he shared a stage with the man now attempting to put him behind bars.  He was also gracious, at one point saying that he wished Biden would do a good job for the country – because we all would be the better for it.  Yet, Biden is not someone who is aware of the devastation his policies have brought upon this country, and that was clear based on his struggles to form a coherent sentence.

At one memorable point, President Trump called out his adversary: “I don’t know what he said at the end of his sentence there and I don’t think he knows either!”  But it was apparent already within the first three minutes of that debacle that Biden did not have what it takes.

Some were concerned he would not even last the full ninety minutes, let alone four more years.  This was the first presidential debate in recent memory that had commercial breaks – part of the rules agreed to between CNN and Biden’s campaign beforehand.  These rules were of course designed to give Biden every advantage.

But even with the rules – and questions, which focused too much on irrelevant issues like climate change and Roe v. Wade, now settled law – rigged in Biden’s favor, he still failed.  Long before the debate had wrapped up, many Democratic operatives were pitching names for Biden’s replacement. Some were calling for an emergency meeting in Washington.  Expect there to be many discussions along these lines between now and the Democratic National Convention.

However, Biden himself does not appear willing to step down.  In his mind, he did a good job.  There are also logistical problems with swapping him out, particularly at this late stage.  With each passing day, it becomes more difficult for the Democrats to do a last-minute switcheroo.

There are tremendous risks to that as well: could they find a candidate who could match Biden’s popularity within the party at large?  Although Crooked Joe suffers from historically bad approval ratings, Kamala Harris is even less popular.  Who else do they have on their bench?  Gavin Newsome?  Hillary Clinton?  Michelle Obama?

Their bench is limited.  And creating a vacuum by removing him at this juncture only would lead to the prospect for party infighting, which nobody wants just months away from a critical election.

Regardless, all those questions do not really matter.  President Trump looked a formidable candidate: cool, calm, and collected.  The CNN debate forum helped facilitate a disciplined and focused performance on his part.  He was very knowledgeable on the major policy points that mattered, and adeptly used opportunities throughout to exploit Biden’s weaknesses.

President Trump has been for several months now enjoying some of the strongest poll numbers of his political career.  After that debate, his momentum will doubtlessly only gain in strength.  The Democratic Party remains as fractured as ever, and President Trump cuts the image of unity, which is exactly what our deeply divided country needs right now.

The 45th President’s closing remarks were some of his powerful of the night.  He dealt a fatal blow to Biden, while reassuring that he will bring America back up from near-extermination, close the border, end the weaponized justice system, reduce inflation, and have so many of the foreign conflicts – from Ukraine to the Middle East – resolved before he even steps foot again into the Oval Office and takes the oath as America’s 47th President.

Following the conclusion of the CNN Presidential Debate, Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif., fired back at reporters when asked if he would support the idea of replacing President Biden.

“I would never turn my back on President Biden. Never turn my back on President Biden. I don’t know a Democrat in my party that would do so. And especially after tonight, we have his back,” Newsom said.

“We run, not the 90-yard dash. We are all in. We’re going to double down in the next few months. We’re going to win this election,” he continued.

When questioned about Biden’s performance, Newsom said he cared about “the substance.”

McDonald’s Admits Customers Reject Fake Meat Burgers

McDonald’s has acknowledged the lukewarm reception of its plant-based McPlant burger, which was introduced in partnership with Beyond Meat. The fast-food giant began testing the McPlant in select markets in 2021, but customer interest has fallen short of expectations.

The McPlant burger features a patty made from peas, rice, and potatoes, aiming to offer a plant-based alternative to their traditional beef burgers .

McDonald’s Says Plant-Based Test Didn’t Pan Out in US. “A [2022] test of its McPlant burger in San Francisco and Dallas ‘was not successful in either market,'” according to the company. https://t.co/swYQBW4VXI

— Tom Vierhile (@TomVierhile) June 27, 2024

Despite initial excitement, the McPlant has not resonated well with American consumers. Franchisee feedback indicated that sales were underwhelming, averaging only 20 McPlants sold per day, compared to the target of 40 to 60 sandwiches. This tepid response has led McDonald’s to conclude that a national rollout is not feasible in the near future.

The broader context of the plant-based meat market shows similar challenges. While competitors like Burger King have found some success with their Impossible Whopper, the overall acceptance of fake meat products remains mixed. Factors contributing to this include consumer preferences for traditional meat flavors and skepticism about the taste and texture of plant-based alternatives.

— Hammerstone Markets (@HammerstoneMar3) June 26, 2024

In the aftermath of the McPlant’s trial, shares of Beyond Meat, the company behind the patty, have suffered. The stock has dropped significantly as investors question the long-term growth potential of the plant-based meat industry.

McDonald’s initial plan for the McPlant was ambitious. They hoped to expand the plant-based offering beyond just burgers to include other menu items like chicken nuggets and sausage. However, the current market response has put these plans on hold.

The trial’s results underscore a broader trend in the food industry, where plant-based alternatives, despite their environmental benefits and health claims, still struggle to achieve mainstream popularity. McDonald’s experience with the McPlant highlights the challenges that even major brands face when trying to shift consumer habits towards more sustainable options.

In summary, McDonald’s venture into the plant-based burger market with the McPlant has faced significant hurdles, reflecting broader industry trends and consumer preferences that currently favor traditional meat products.

Judge Cannon Grants Request For Hearing on Whether Jack Smith Improperly Pierced Through Trump’s Attorney-Client Privilege

Judge Aileen Cannon on Thursday granted Trump’s request for a hearing on whether Jack Smith’s prosecutors improperly breached Trump’s attorney-client privilege.

Jack Smith used a DC grand jury – and a radical Marxist Obama-appointed DC judge (Beryl Howell) in the classified docs case before quietly roving down to Florida to file the charges.

Judge Beryl Howell ruled against Trump at every turn!

In fact, Judge Howell previously ordered Trump’s lawyer Evan Corcoran to testify before a grand jury in special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into classified documents stored at Mar-a-Lago.

Judge Howell flipped Trump’s own lawyer Eric Corcoran into a witness when she obliterated Trump’s attorney-client privilege in a ruling.

Jack Smith had been using a grand jury in DC to investigate Trump’s classified documents case.

Out of nowhere, a Florida grand jury popped up and indicted Trump.

Jack Smith indicted Trump on 37 federal counts in Miami last June.

Trump was charged with 31 counts of willful retention of national defense information and 6 other process crimes stemming from his conversations with his lawyer.

INGRASSIA: The Supreme Court’s Attack On Free Speech Proves The Federalist Society Can No Longer Be Trusted As An Authority For Selecting Judges In A Second Trump Administration

In 2016, one of the issues that helped calm the nerves of ambivalent conservatives and get them to support President Trump, whom they perceived as an insurgent populist with questionable positions on social issues like abortion, was his commitment to selecting judges on a list provided by the Federalist Society.  The Federalist Society has long been considered a trusted authority, especially for conservative lawyers.  For years it was customary to believe that any judge that had the FedSoc stamp of approval was worthy of an appointment to the federal judiciary.  This was because FedSoc was supposed to stand for textualism and originalism, a faithful adherence to the Constitution’s intended meaning – its judges were widely perceived to be among the cream of the crop.

For years, the organization worked diligently behind the scenes to furnish the legal and jurisprudential handiwork to overturn Roe v. Wade.  With President Trump’s election, and the nomination of three FedSoc-approved judges to the Supreme Court: Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett – all that hard work became reality.  With these nominations, the Supreme Court finally delivered the fatal blow to Roe in the Dobbs case, returning the abortion question to the states after a long half-century, apparently vindicating all the Society’s work in the process.

That victory proved short-lived.

Since Dobbs, the Supreme Court’s conservative majority – particularly the decisions written by the three Trump nominations – has been, at best, mediocre. This was on full display this past week, with several disappointing decisions issued by the Supreme Court.  For one, despite being a 6-3 majority, the Court struck down an abortion ban in Idaho.  But the worst decision by far this week concerned free speech rights, and was written by Justice Barrett — and joined by Justices Kavanaugh and Roberts, along with the Court’s three liberals. This was the decision to punt the all-important issue of whether the government can censor social media platforms.

This should have been as straightforward an issue as one gets for the High Court.  It is not a stretch to say that it is a flagrant violation of the First Amendment for the government to harass private social media platforms, like Facebook and Twitter, to censor opinions it dislikes, such as views that go against the dominant narrative on vaccines or election integrity.  Rather than offering much needed clarity on the most important free speech decision in a generation, the Supreme Court looked the other way.

The majority opinion refused to address the issue squarely.  And it’s not as though this case involved highly complicated issues of law – such as construction of the tax code or a tangled administrative rule, over which reasonable minds may differ.  The First Amendment, compared to other constitutional provisions, is one of the most clear cut articles.  The issue presented before the Supreme Court in Murthy v. Missouri was simple: does the government have the right to coerce private companies what to say?  The answer, even simpler: Of course not!

And yet, the Court swung and missed.  It dithered and hid under a legal technicality – saying that the plaintiff lacked “standing” to bring the issue before it.  This is total nonsense.  First, the Court rarely grants certiorari, or review, on important constitutional considerations, above all First Amendment questions, unless at least some justices believe that it can rule on the underlying merits of the case. The Supreme Court docket is very selective; it does not have the time or resources to ponder trivial matters.

Certainly, at least three justices – Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch – felt that the Court was prepared to rule on the case’s merits, which they stated in their dissent.  But Justice Barrett, who was joined by her fellow Trump nomination in Justice Kavanaugh, did not.  Instead of deferring, as would have been appropriate, to the wisdom of Justices like Alito and Thomas, who have decades of more experience in the federal judiciary, Justice Barrett took it upon herself to run roughshod over the First Amendment – casting the most important guarantee in our Bill of Rights into a sea of doubt.

Although the judicial branch pretends to remain “above politics,” Supreme Court justices are not indifferent to political tides.  They may hide under the veil of “standing” all they want, but the practical implication of their non-decision is highly political: it gives license to the Biden government to – continue what they have been doing for years – weaponizing Big Tech to subvert conservative voices, including The Gateway Pundit, whose founder, Jim Hoft, was one of the injured plaintiffs, especially in a critical election year.

Amy Coney Barrett and especially, Brett Kavanaugh, should know more than anyone what it means to be targets of a political hit job and censorship by an out of control Left.  The fact that Kavanaugh would sign off Barrett’s decision, considering what he went through with his nomination process, is unforgivable!

Barrett’s 30-page spiel masquerading as a judicial opinion is legal sophistry of the worst kind; obscuring a critical issue beneath a tidal wave of technicalities because she plainly wants to avoid a matter she deems controversial and unworthy of her time.  What she did was disloyal and cowardly.

And a great deal of that fault is traceable to the Federalist Society itself, which nominated her, for one; and has plainly failed to equip its lawyers with the skill sets needed to tackle some of the most important constitutional issues of our time.

Abortion is fine and all, but the issue post-Dobbs is now settled law.  The Federalist Society placed all its eggs in the abortion basket, while ignoring other equally important issues, like immigration, religious liberty, criminal justice, and indeed speech.  Justice Kavanaugh has sided with the Court’s liberal wing on several noteworthy law enforcement and immigration decisions.  And Justice Gorsuch, who is widely held to be the best of President Trump’s three picks, wrote perhaps the most odious Supreme Court decision of our time – Bostock v. Clayton County (2020), which forced the government to recognize “gender identity” as a protected class, in the same category as race or sex, under the Equal Protection Clause. This would allow the government to discriminate against persons who do not recognize “fundamental rights” for transgenders.

Today, the Court may well release positive decisions on questions of presidential immunity and prevent the federal government from weaponizing obscure statutes to crackdown on January 6th protestors.  However, the rulings the Court hands down must be analyzed with a fine-tooth comb; the Court’s “conservative majority” always makes very narrow holdings; this is the expectation for both Fischer (the § 1512 decisions implicating rights of J6 demonstrators) and Trump v. United States (the presidential immunity decision), where the Court will likely only hand conservatives qualified victories (where they should be complete victories) on each.

Moreover, what should not be lost in all the noise, however, is the fact that we have only reached this dire place, where the Court is forced to rule on whether the leading candidate to become the 47th President of the United States should face jail time, because it failed to take up the issue of election integrity when given the opportunity to do so in the immediate aftermath of the 2020 election (again, using the guise of “standing”). Back then, the Court “punted,” much as it did again this week on the First Amendment.  The result of that cowardice has been four years of relentless witch-hunts and weaponized justice against not only President Trump, but thousands of his supporters.

That all could have been avoided had the Supreme Court taken up the election integrity question at the time it was brought before it — which would have cleared its docket of a litany of future cases, from presidential immunity to the Steve Bannon case, all byproducts of their failure to rule decisively on the merits originally.

The repeated failures are symptomatic of a High Court utterly ill-equipped to deal with some of the most important constitutional issues of our time.  In large part, those failures are directly traceable to the Federalist Society, which has been a disaster in vetting judges for the competence and character necessary to deal with the difficulties political realities our country now faces.  With this week’s slew of disappointing judgments, the chickens have finally come home to roost.

The judiciary is the third branch of government and is thus, by its very nature, political.  There is no escaping politics, even behind the cloak of a Justice’s robe.  For judges to think they are “above politics” is really an admission that they are more devoted to the institutions than the Presidents — and people — who appointed them.  The President, who is the most democratically representative member of the federal government because he is the only officeholder chosen by the whole country, is the one who gives his Supreme Court nominees their judicial mandate.

That is a lesson that has been clearly lost on The Federalist Society, many of whose members are still reticent about President Trump – even though he gave them more power (and victories — and, indirectly, money) than any president or politician in their entire forty-two-year history.  Whether owing to complacency or cowardice, or sheer incompetence, the Federalist Society and the judges it has anointed have proven woefully inadequate to meet the challenges of our times.  Instead of producing street fighters with the legal genius to sufficiently respond to a constitutional crisis of the magnitude our country is facing, and adapt their jurisprudential stances when necessary, they have instead yielded an unimpressive lot of squishy judges who cannot stand on principle whenever confronted with the slightest hint of controversy.

What more appropriate a conclusion than by paraphrasing the late Justice Scalia, whose portentous words that ended his dissent in Obergefell v. Hodges can be slightly adapted to be applied, with uncanny pertinence, to the Federalist Society today, as it did then to a Supreme Court drunk off its own pride: With each decision of the Federalist Society that takes from the People a question properly left to them—with each decision that is unabashedly based not on law …FedSoc moves one step closer to being reminded of their impotence.

Political prisoner Joshua Hernandez was sentenced to 24 months in federal prison for his participation in the January 6, 2021 protests.

Hernandez entered the US Capitol carrying an American flag and moved with the crowd through the Senate wing, Crypt, Speaker’s Lobby, Speaker’s conference room, and Rotunda. He committed no violence.

For this he was given two years in prison.

Note: That the lone insurrectionist that day Ray Epps was given NO TIME in prison earlier this year.

On Friday Joshua Nernandez was released from prison in Arkansas. Joshua was expecting to go home. The Biden administration bused him to Washington DC.

Now he is homeless and broke walking the streets in Washington.

Under Joe Biden we have witnessed the worst political abuse in US history.

Joshua wrote The Gateway Pundit from the street in DC.

Greetings Jim,

I’m FREEE!! I’m Joshua Hernandez, I was released from Forrest City Low in Arkansas on Friday the 21st.

The BOP left me homeless upon my release. I informed them of my family, my home and my job that is waiting for me.

I assumed I was going to be sent home. The last two months of my sentence I was requesting information on my itinerary, plus my probation officer contact information. I was told I would be given all I needed. Upon my release, I was given a Greyhound bus ticket to Washington DC. To my surprise, I was given that and only that. No probation info, no address where I was supposed to go, not even a printout of local resources. I wasn’t even given my ID back. I came in with nothing to prove who I am. All my property was ‘lost.’ All the books I was sent from friends and family, pictures family sent in the mail. Clothing and shoes I had bought. I had to leave shoes and clothing that was donated, unwashed.

Once I got my hands on a phone, I started to call the probation office and get an idea why I was being sent to DC. The supervisor did not know why. I was assigned to an officer that was no longer with the probation office. On a Friday afternoon on the Greyhound towards DC, being told I had to wait until Monday for a response. I was looking at a whole weekend without a roof and clean clothing. I received no help. I’m not expecting a red carpet treatment, but I would have really appreciated a printout of local resources.

My first visit with my probation was on the 26th of this month at 4 PM in the afternoon. I informed her of my ID issue, food, shelter, family, clothing, everything that I am lacking. I was told, “Get all that out of your head, you are here and we need to see what you need to become successful.”

No family, no kids, no resources and no ID to get a job, but “what do you need to become successful.”

So I’m stuck here in DC, anything helps. I have a plan for employment. I started to ask corner stores to stock up back rooms and clean floors for drinks and snacks and if they want to pay I’ll accept cash. I’m taking things one step at a time.

God Bless all the readers and Go Bless the Gateway Pundit.

I will not let hard times defeat me. I am powered my the Most High.

My unmatched perspicacity coupled with my sheer indefatigability makes me a feared opponent in any realm of human endeavor.

Feeble, Frail, Forgetful Biden

Feeble, Frail, Forgetful Biden

The president unravels on the big stage.

“Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God.” CNN’s John King was stunned. It was President Biden’s worst night as a politician—ever.

On Thursday evening in Atlanta, the already-lowered bar suddenly disappeared into the floor completely. Biden didn’t faint or trip, but his voice was so hoarse that he struggled to speak at times, and he faltered repeatedly, unable to retain his train of thought.

He looked pale and gaunt, he grumbled and stumbled. Van Jones, apparently on the verge of tears, called the performance “painful.”

Democratic leaders were already smashing the panic button by early Friday morning, only hours after one of the most embarrassing debate displays in U.S. history. One party strategist characterized the mood inside the Democrat campaign summarily: “We are f–ked.”

Vocal Trump critic Matt Drudge concurred. In big, bold lettering at the top of his eponymous Report read Biden’s political obituary: “OPERATION: REPLACE BIDEN. DEMOCRATS SCRAMBLE WITH 130 DAYS TO GO! DEBATE CATASTROPHE.”

For all of the discussion about Biden drinking “a whole gallon of energy drinks” as Speaker Johnson so elegantly put it, the president was low energy, confused, and combative from the start in all the ways a president mustn’t be. Hidden from the nation for a week to prepare, Biden looked and sounded like a shadow of the already faded man we’ve come to know.

From his very first words, Biden sounded and appeared befuddled, bemused, bewildered, and downright beaten-down. The former President Donald Trump was able to put the current White House occupant’s senior moments to good use.

“I really don’t know what he said at the end of that sentence,” quipped Trump after Biden struggled to complete his thought. “I don’t think he knows what he said either.”

In another stark exchange, Trump jumped on a Biden gaffe, agreeing with the confused president’s claim that he had “beat Medicare.”

“He’s right,” Trump responded. “He did beat Medicare. He beat it to death.”

Biden meant to say he “beat pharma,” a constant refrain during his campaign speeches, but he failed to find the words without a teleprompter or notecards to assist.

The late start time of 9pm EDT clearly hindered 81-year-old Biden, who appeared dissociated at times and seemed to rest his weight on the podium throughout the night, like a dazed boxer failing to find the ropes.

“They’re having conversations about the president’s performance which they think was dismal,” King continued in the after-debate coverage. “Some of those conversations include; Should we go to the White House and ask the president to step aside? Other conversations are about; Should prominent Democrats go public with that call?”

Trump wasn’t perfect, but he was more than good enough. The great irony of this first debate was that it was Trump, not Biden, who benefitted from a lowered bar of expectations.Trump essentially won by default. Both men were repetitive and redundant at times, but it was only Biden who appeared totally incapable of stringing together clear thoughts, let alone commanding the world’s superpower.

As if on cue, top media members rushed in to defend Biden on the hour mark. Fifty minutes into the debate, NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell tweeted, “Two sources familiar with the situation say ‘President Biden has a cold.’”

Biden didn’t appear sick at an after-hours party organized and led by First Lady Jill Biden. The eleventh-hour admission of Biden’s sickness seemed like a last-ditch effort from the Democrats to salvage what was very clearly a disaster night for the president.

“The voice, open-mouthed look, and visual contrast between President Biden and former President Trump all have Democrats I’m talking to nearly beside themselves watching this debate,” noted CNN anchor Kasie Hunt.

Biden read like a bruised, old man who should’ve been anywhere else other than on that CNN stage on a hot, muggy night in Georgia. He should’ve been at home with his family, or on a windswept beach in Delaware. But there he was. On the national stage. Again.  And this time he was all out of gas.

The former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) told Rachel Maddow that some elected Democrats have confided that they “feel like they’re confronting a crisis” following Biden’s performance. And the former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said members of Congress and operatives in the Democratic Party have already begun quietly asking if Biden can be replaced.

Republican VP hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy joked that Biden might’ve been given a lobotomy before the debate. Andrew Yang, who debated Biden seven times in 2020, said it was time to seek a different candidate to lead the Democratic ticket.

“He’s a different guy in 2024. #swapJoeout,” tweeted Yang in the middle of the debate.

Fittingly enough, there was California’s Gov. Gavin Newsom in the “Debate Spin Room” at CNN’s studios in Atlanta openly attacking Trump only minutes before the debate began. If anyone has the starpower and name recognition to challenge Trump at this late stage in the race, it’s most likely Newsom.

Newsom was hounded by press members following the debate. When asked if he anticipated replacing Biden at the top of the Democrat ticket, Newsom grinned.

“Our nominee is Joe Biden,” he replied. “I’m looking forward to voting for him in November. In a second interview, Newsom doubled down: “You don’t turn your back because of one performance.”

The former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley predicted Biden will be switched out before the Democratic Convention in Chicago this August. “Mark my words,” Haley said. “Biden will not be the Democratic nominee. Republicans, get your guard up!”

It’s been nearly 60 years since the last contested convention, when riot police clashed with protestors on the streets of Chicago. The Democratic Party spiraled into chaos over divisions over the Vietnam War and the assassination of then-Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy two months before the event in Chicago.

With massive pro-Palestinian protests planned for the convention and serious questions lingering about Biden’s cognitive abilities following his rough outing on Thursday, this year’s Chicago convention may bring more of the same.

Following Trump and Biden’s long anticipated debate, CNN reporter John King revealed Democrat donors and elected officials are panicking after Biden’s “abysmal” debate performance.

During CNN’s post-debate show, John King stated, “Right now, as we speak, there is a deep, wide, and very aggressive panic in the Democratic Party.”

King continued, “It started minutes into the debate, and it continues right now. It involves party strategists, It involves elected officials, it involves fundraisers, and they are having conversations about the president’s performance.”

Some of those conversations include: “Should we go to the White House and ask the president to step aside?” Others of the conversations are about “Should prominent Democrats go public with that call?” added King.

Per Mediate:

CNN’s John King reported that a “deep, wide, and a very aggressive panic” took hold within the Democratic Party during President Joe Biden’s debate with Donald Trump on a postgame show Thursday night.

“Right now, as we speak, there is a deep, wide and a very aggressive panic in the Democratic Party,” declared King just moments after the debate ended. “It started minutes into the debate, and it continues right now. It involves party strategists, It involves elected officials, it involves fundraisers, and they are having conversations about the president’s performance, which they think was dismal, which they think will hurt other people down the party in the ticket. And they’re having conversations about what they should do about it.”

He continued: Some of those conversations include: “Should we go to the White House and ask the president to step aside?” Others of the conversations are about “Should prominent Democrats go public with that call?” because they feel this debate was so terrible. They do say, in moments in the debate later, the president got better and got his footing.
