Two Years After Dobbs: What’s Next?

To mark the two-year anniversary of Roe v. Wade being overturned, hundreds of pro-life advocates from across the nation braved the blazing D.C. summer heat Saturday at the Lincoln Memorial for the second annual National Celebrate Life rally.

The rally, which was hosted by various pro-life coalitions including Students for Life, Young Women for America, Live Action, and 40 Days for Life, celebrated the anniversary of the momentous Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization Supreme Court decision that overturned the previously established precedent constitutionally guaranteeing a right to abortion.

The event featured many notable pro-life speakers, such as Kristan Hawkins of Students for Life of America, Rep. Bob Good (R-VA), Abby Johnson of And Then There Were None, Jon Schweppe of the American Principles Project, Dr. Haywood Robinson of 40 Days for Life, and Thomas Kearns, a post-abortive father.

Hawkins addressed the crowd first, emphasizing how important it will be for government officials to continue to stand for life going into the 2024 election cycle: “We have come here to demand that our leaders, especially those in the Republican party, lead on life and not get sucked into maelstroms or whirlpools of abortion moderation or toleration that will only lead to destruction.”

She stressed, “The tide has already turned once with the fall of Roe, so therefore we know that the predictable tides will turn again in our lifetime.”

Good, whose political future hangs on a recount of his contested primary election, declared that politicians like himself are in unique positions of power to fight for life. He praised the bravery of the Supreme Court justices who were instrumental in the Dobbs decision and said that it was now up to the people’s representatives to protect the sanctity of life in their individual states.

“After Roe v. Wade, some became hyper-federalists and…many in Congress tried to abdicate their responsibility to deal with this most important of issues,” he said. “But why do we try to win elections if not to save life?”

Robinson, a medical doctor who used to perform abortions, said he knew what it was like to be part of the “abortion cartel.” After time spent in the industry, he realized that he was taking part in an immoral act that he likened to slavery. He remained optimistic that more people like him will see the sin of the abortion industry: “We will plunder hell to populate heaven. No more mothers will cry, and no more babies will die.”

The most emotional speech came from Kearns, who, three months ago, lost his daughter Clementine to the abortion industry. According to Kearns, Clementine’s body had been ripped apart while she was still alive and was subsequently sold for parts to a research facility on the West Coast.

“People tell me she’s not a human, or she was not alive. People tell me I’m crying over someone I never met before,” he said. “The abortion facility preyed on Clementine’s mom’s uncertainty and vulnerability. She had no money, but they promised to take care of her…. They got what they wanted.”

“I love Clementine. I will find her and give her a resting place…. Even after my death, Clementine will live on,” Kearns told the tearful crowd. A junior at the University of Virginia gestured to a small group of protestors gathered to the side of the rally and told The American Conservative, “I’m so glad they’re here to hear this.”

Biden Seen for the First Time in a Week After Hiding Out at Camp David Perfecting His Debate Doping Cocktail (VIDEO)

Joe Biden on Thursday emerged from hiding after not being seen publicly for a week.

President Trump and Joe Biden will face off in the first presidential debate of the 2024 election cycle Thursday night at 9m pm ET.

The debate is rigged to benefit feeble Joe Biden.

Thursday night’s CNN debate in Atlanta will be hosted by Trump haters Jake Tapper and Dana Bash.

The microphones will be muted except when it is the candidate’s ‘turn’ to speak.

Of course, they will likely only use this feature to mute Trump.

After being holed up at Camp David in Maryland for a week perfecting his doping cocktail, Biden was seen heading to Atlanta, Georgia.

Governor Serving on Biden Advisory Board Buckles, Sends Officials to Border to Beg for Less Migrants

A state chock-full of sanctuary cities is now begging for a stop to the constant flow of illegal immigrants surging through the southern border.

Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey — a Democrat — dispatched top state officials to the United States’ border with Mexico earlier this week in an attempt to slow the mass movement of people into the Bay State.

The state administrators had a simple and clear message once they reached areas along Texas’ southern line: Massachusetts is full.

The Massachusetts delegation, led by Emergency Assistance Director Scott Rice, was sent to numerous locations along the southern border to disseminate the message.

“This trip is an important opportunity,” Rice said according to WCVB, “to meet with families arriving in the U.S. and the organizations that work with them at the border to make sure they have accurate information about the lack of shelter space in Massachusetts.

“It is essential that we get the word out that our shelters are full so that families can plan accordingly to make sure they have a safe place to go.”

The trip includes stops at various border locations such as the San Antonio Airport, a McAllen migrant processing center, Hidalgo Port of Entry, and the Brownsville migrant complex.

Massachusetts is not a sanctuary state itself, but contains many cities and municipalities that have declared themselves as “sanctuaries” for people breaking the law by entering America illegally.

According to CBS News, some of the state’s major cities that have sanctuary laws on the books include Amherst, Boston, Cambridge, Concord, Newton and Somerville.

The desperate attempt to stem the flow of migrants into the state is even more ironic considering Governor Healey’s position within the political machine of President Joe Biden.

According to the Boston Globe, in May of 2023 the Biden campaign named Healey to a national advisory board fighting for the president’s reelection. Their work, in part, is to engage voters to support Biden.

Leading up to the delegation in Texas, Massachusetts was already buckling under pressure from illegal immigrants.

The state legislature recently approved a 9-month limit on immigrant families’ s stays in emergency shelters.

According to the state’s Office of Health and Social Services, initial notices informing shelter residents of the impending benefit terminations will begin going out in July. Although the state offers extensions and other housing assistance, it’s clear the governor is simply running out of space to put people.

This seems to be the case all over the state.

In recent years, illegal immigrants have surged to become a substantial portion of the Massachusetts population.

According to Axios, a sharp increase in undocumented people has been underway in the state since the administration of former President Barack Obama. As of 2021, illegal immigrants make up 4.3 percent of the state’s total population.

In a state of 6.9 million people, this comes out to roughly 300,000 individuals.

This cohort dwarfs the population of every city in the state save for Boston, according to data compiled by Massachusetts Demographics.

How Biden and Trump Have Prepared for Their Debate Rematch

How Biden and Trump Have Prepared for Their Debate Rematch

President Joe Biden has been holed up at Camp David preparing for a week. The former President Donald Trump has been on the trail. Sound familiar?

Hillary Clinton makes no effort to hide her disdain for the American electorate, especially since her loss to Donald Trump in 2016. Fearing that the upcoming election in November could be a repeat of 2016, she has taken to the pages of the New York Times to explain to the uninitiated what she’s looking out for in Thursday night’s debate—and what any truly savvy voter should be looking for as well.

In a piece that is part self-promotion, part struggle-session, and part Biden surrogacy, Clinton creates a tripartite rubric: First, “pay attention to how the candidates talk about people, not just policies”; second, “try to see through the bluster and focus on the fundamentals at stake”; and third, “when you see these two men side by side, think about the real choice in this election,” which she says is between “chaos and competence.”

In other words, Hillary Clinton wants you to ignore almost everything that happens during the debate. Never mind that Biden’s tenure when it comes to the economy, the border, and foreign wars. Disregard any Biden gaffes. Put aside all questions on whether or not Biden is senile. Pull the lever for Biden because democracy is at stake for real this time.

But Biden isn’t preparing as if Americans will take Clinton’s advice. Since June 20, Biden has been holed up at Camp David prepping for tonight’s debate. Camp David’s movie theater and an airplane hangar have been transformed into a full debate training ground, stage lights and all.

For the past week, Biden has been surrounded by more than a dozen current and former aides, immersing himself in politics’ own sweet science. Ron Klain, Biden’s former White House chief of staff and long-time staple of the president’s corner, is heading up the debate prep. Jeffrey Zients, Biden’s current chief of staff, as well as several communications strategy aides like Anita Dunn and communications director Ben LaBolt, are attending Biden’s training sessions.

Aside from Klain, however, Mike Donilon, the Biden campaign’s chief strategist and a senior advisor to the president, is playing the largest role. Donilon is the mastermind behind the campaign’s main theme: American democracy is at stake if Trump wins in November. It’s anything but original, but it has secured Donilon the catbird seat in Biden’s reelection operation.

Other names helping the former president prepare for Thursday night include National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, the Biden counselor Steve Ricchetti, Biden’s former Director of the National Economic Council Brian Deese, and White House deputies Annie Tomasini and Bruce Reed. Campaign aides, such as Jen O’Malley Dillon, Cedric Richmond, Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Quentin Fulks, Michael Tyler, and Rob Flaherty, have also descended on Camp David.

As was the case in 2020, Biden’s sparring partner playing the role of Trump is his personal attorney Bob Bauer. Bauer is reportedly bringing his A game.

“This is not a Saturday Night Live impression,” Bauer told POLITICO. “You don’t want to detract from the serious business of prepping the candidate… You have to immerse yourself in a huge amount of material so that you don’t wind up offering an argument that they might conceivably make, but they never did.” And Bauer might be the one responsible for Biden deciding to shirk the standard presidential debates hosted by the Commission on Presidential Debates. In his book, The Unraveling: Reflections on Politics without Ethics and Democracy in Crisis, Bauer criticizes the commission as antiquated and irrelevant.

Debate prep is a rather secretive process, and Biden’s camp has arguably given the press more pre-debate access than any presidential campaign in recent memory. Yet, only the most expected lines of attack against Trump—on Trump’s felony conviction in New York, on January 6 and election fraud, and on abortion, for example—and defense—the Biden economy, Biden’s immigration policies, his age and mental capacity—have made the light of day. Meanwhile, Biden is, unsurprisingly, expected to aggressively defend his tenure. Outside groups are encouraging the president to lean in on Biden’s immigration policies, especially the recently unveiled pathway to residency for married illegal immigrants, and the Biden economy. The Trump campaign surely hopes Biden listens to these outside group’s advice.

How the debate prep (and the press’s access to it) bodes for Biden is anyone’s guess. In 2020, Biden was mocked for being feeble in body and mind. “Biden’s basement campaign” became a common GOP refrain. To such low expectations, Biden emerged from the basement and managed to make it through the first 2020 debate without any major episode. Thanks to the naysaying the Biden campaign was able to chalk the debate up as a W.

In their continued attacks on Biden’s faculties, the Trump campaign and the GOP have backed themselves into the same corner—which they appear to have realized. They have attempted at the last minute to raise expectations for Biden’s performance in the lead-up.

It’s a difficult spot for the Trump campaign: how to raise expectations for Biden without, first, granting the incumbent undeserved strength, and, second, without suggesting they were wrong for attacking Biden’s ability to do the job. But the Trump campaign has come up with a clever, and on-brand, escape. Trump, they now argue, is entering a three-on-one cage match. On paper, Trump is debating Biden, but he’ll also be debating CNN’s moderators, Jake Tapper and Dana Bash. When Karoline Leavitt suggested as much during a CNN interview, CNN cut her microphone and ended the interview, which only seemed to prove the Trump campaign’s point (and could be a sign of things to come Thursday night with the mic-muting feature).

CNN might not be alone in helping Trump raise expectations for Biden. The access the Biden team has given the press during the week-long debate preparations at Camp David is designed to show a president set not only on keeping his job but capable of finishing his term. In doing so, the Biden team is squandering the one thing that allowed them to declare victory in the first debate of 2020: low expectations.

Trump has taken a different approach to preparing for Thursday night’s debate with Biden.

Unlike Biden, Trump has not been holed up at Mar-a-Lago for a week taking part in mock debates. Instead, the president has been on the trail, honing his message in front of rally crowds even though there will be no audience at the CNN debate.

“Well, this is really the best strategy right here,” Trump told Fox News before a Philadelphia rally last weekend. “We have all these people out here, and they are screaming questions. I look forward to the debate.”

Trump mocked Biden for holing up in Camp David: Biden has gone “to a log cabin to ‘study,’” Trump told the crowd. Later, Trump said Biden would get “jacked up” with medication before hitting the debate stage.

Beyond the campaign, Trump has held meetings to prepare for Thursday night’s debate—but don’t call it “debate prep.” The Trump campaign says observers should call it a “policy refresher.” Between campaign events, Trump is meeting with aides and allies to discuss current events and compare his policy record and achievements to Biden’s. The approximately hour-long meetings include trusted members of Trump’s inner circle: the communications adviser Jason Miller, the co-campaign manager Susie Wiles, and the policy advisers Stephen Miller, Vince Haley, and Ross Worthington.

Each meeting has had a rotating cast of Trump allies. From the Senate, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) has been brought in to discuss foreign policy, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) has met with Trump about populist economic and domestic policies, and Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-MO) has been called in to discuss government weaponization. Other longtime Trump advisors have attended the meetings as well, such as Trump’s U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, the former Acting Director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Tom Homan, and Kellyanne Conway.

Trump is expected to go after Biden on the border, inflation, America’s involvement in foreign wars, and, surprisingly, Biden’s withdrawal from Afghanistan. Furthermore, in forcing Biden to vigorously defend his tenure as president, Trump can appear as the “common sense” candidate on issues like immigration, the economy, and abortion without having to sacrifice his long-help positions. Trump has tilted the political landscape, especially on the right, and has a chance to deploy it to his favor Thursday night.

“It won’t be like last time,” Trump reportedly promised in one of the policy-refresher meetings. “It’s not 2020.”

New Hampshire Man on Trial for Threatening to Kill Presidential Candidates, Found Dead While Jury Was Deciding Verdict

A New Hampshire man who was charged with threatening to kill presidential candidates last year has been found dead as a jury was deciding his verdict.

Tyler Anderson, 30, of Dover, was charged with three counts of sending a threat using interstate commerce has found dead as a jury was making a verdict.

A court filing from Anderson’s trial reads, “The government has learned that the defendant is deceased.”

One of the threatening texts was sent to former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.

Court documents revealed after Anderson received a text message from Ramswamy’s campaign inviting him to a breakfast event in Portsmouth, Anderson responded by writing he would ‘shoot Vivek in the head, and the other message threatened to kill everyone at the event and desecrate their corpses.’

The FBI reported that Anderson sent similar texts to “multiple other campaigns” but did not specify which campaigns received the threats.

Per NBC Boston:

A New Hampshire man charged with threatening the lives of presidential candidates last year has been found dead while a jury was deciding his verdict, according to court filings Thursday.

The jury began weighing the case against Tyler Anderson, 30, of Dover on Tuesday after a trial that began Monday. A message seeking comment from Anderson’s lawyer was not immediately returned. A court filing said “the government has learned that the defendant is deceased.” Prosecutors have moved to dismiss the indictment having learned Anderson has died.

Anderson was indicted by a federal grand jury in December on three counts of sending a threat using interstate commerce. Each charge provides for a sentence of up to five years in prison, up to three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000.

The U.S. Attorney’s office did not name the candidates. When Anderson was arrested, a spokesperson for Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy said that texts were directed at his campaign.

UPDATE: CNN Responds to Minute Delay Report

CNN has responded that the CNN has clarified that they will not implement a one or two-minute delay.

Leading Report reporter Patrick Webb claimed that there would be a 1-2 minute delay.

BREAKING: CNN will implement a 1-2 minute delay for tonight’s presidential debate instead of the standard 7-second delay, potentially allowing time to edit parts of the broadcast.

— Patrick Webb (@RealPatrickWebb) June 27, 2024

Brian Stelter wrote, “Watch out — it’s wild out here today — lots of people are falling for misinfo about the prez debate production. To address one of the B.S. claims, no, CNN is not putting the live feed on a 1/2 minute tape delay to somehow protect the elderly candidates.”

— Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) June 27, 2024

The debate is scheduled to last 90 minutes and begin at 9 p.m. Eastern time (6 p.m. Pacific) — with two commercial breaks.

The Seattle Times notes:

That is a normal length for a presidential debate, but the commercial breaks are noteworthy: General-election debates in past cycles, sponsored by the Commission on Presidential Debates rather than an individual news organization, did not have them.

The candidates will not be allowed to talk to their aides during the commercial breaks, but they will have time to take a breather and collect themselves in a way they would not have in past years.

Unlike past debates, there will also be no live audience. The Biden campaign demanded this, likely because it was worried that former President Donald Trump would feed off of audience excitement.

The Times report also pointed out, “CNN will allow two minutes for each answer and one minute for rebuttals. The moderators, CNN hosts Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, will be able to grant extra time at their discretion.”

“The candidates’ microphones will be muted when it isn’t their turn to speak. That was another Biden request, intended to guard against Trump’s penchant for interrupting and speaking over debate opponents.”

WHOA! White House Press Corps Forced to Watch Feed of CNN Debate From Building Across the Street Because They Believe There May Be a “Medical Emergency” Involving One of the Candidates Requiring On-Scene Coverage

According to Real Clear Investigations reporter Paul Sperry, the White House press corps is being forced to watch feed of the CNN presidential debate Thursday night from a building across the street because they believe there may be a “medical emergency” involving one of the presidential candidate (Joe Biden).

“White House press corps has petitioned CNN to open up the debate studio to reporters, who for now have to watch a feed from a building across the street, b/c they believe there may be a “medical emergency” involving one of the prez candidates requiring on-scene coverage,” Paul Sperry said.

Recall that Joe Biden had a medical emergency during a CNN town hall in September 2019. His eye filled with blood during the climate town hall.

Trump Slams Biden Over Debate Avoidance, Suggests He Might Skip Too

Former President Donald Trump has ramped up his criticism of President Joe Biden, focusing on recent signals from the White House that Biden might skip a proposed debate. Trump, campaigning for the 2024 election, suggested he might follow suit if Biden continues to avoid direct confrontation.

Trump’s fiery remarks were delivered during a rally in Dayton, Ohio, where he accused Biden of being a “great threat to our democracy” and labeled him as incompetent and corrupt. Trump took aim at Biden’s reluctance to participate in a debate, calling it a sign of weakness and a tactic to avoid public scrutiny of his policies and record.

Joe Biden didn’t agree to a drug test before the debate tonight.

Trump did.

Joe Biden didn’t agree to debate a third party candidate.

Trump did.

Joe Biden requested there not to be a live audience.

Trump didn’t.

Now – who is more fit to be President?

— Steve (@SteveLovesAmmo) June 27, 2024

The Biden campaign has hinted that the president might not attend the debate, a move that has sparked controversy and accusations from Trump’s camp. Trump seized this opportunity to question Biden’s ability to defend his administration’s actions and policies in a public forum. “If Joe Biden is too afraid to debate, maybe I won’t waste my time either,” Trump declared to a cheering crowd, emphasizing his readiness to challenge Biden directly.

Trump’s comments reflect his broader strategy of portraying Biden as unable to handle the demands of the presidency. The former president criticized Biden’s handling of the border crisis and accused him of using the Department of Justice to target political opponents, including Trump himself. These accusations are part of Trump’s ongoing narrative that the current administration is weaponizing government agencies for political gain.

Trump: “No you were on number two”

Biden: No… pic.twitter.com/2hsTkNFSQV

— johnny maga (@_johnnymaga) June 26, 2024

In addition to his attacks on Biden, Trump continued to highlight issues such as crime and immigration, blaming Biden’s policies for recent violent incidents. Trump pointed to the tragic murder of a Georgia nursing student, allegedly by an illegal immigrant, as a consequence of what he called Biden’s “savage attack on America.” He argued that such crimes are a direct result of the president’s lax immigration policies.

The debate over who poses the greater threat to democracy has become a central theme in the 2024 election campaign. Trump and Biden have each accused the other of undermining democratic institutions, creating a stark choice for voters. Trump’s allegations against Biden, coupled with the president’s counter-accusations, underscore the deep divisions within American politics.

As the election season heats up, the issue of debates and direct confrontations between the candidates is likely to remain in the spotlight. Trump’s suggestion that he might skip the debate if Biden does adds another layer of complexity to the already contentious race. Both candidates are using every opportunity to rally their bases and discredit their opponent, setting the stage for a highly charged and divisive campaign.

Trump’s strategy of framing Biden’s debate avoidance as a sign of fear and weakness is designed to question the president’s competence and readiness to lead. This narrative is likely to resonate with Trump’s supporters, who view Biden’s reluctance to debate as indicative of broader issues within his administration.

As the 2024 election approaches, the political rhetoric from both sides is expected to escalate, with each candidate leveraging their platform to paint the other as a fundamental threat to the nation’s future. The ongoing battle between Trump and Biden highlights the high stakes of the upcoming election and the significant impact it will have on the direction of the country.

Mad Mullahs at it Again: Ahead of Iranian Presidential Election, Brutal Regime Renewing Crackdown on Headscarves

The mad mullahs in Iran are renewing their headscarf crackdown and revving up their brutality against Iranian women.

According to ABC News, nearly every afternoon in Iran’s capital, police vans rush to major Tehran squares and intersections to search for women with loose headscarves and those who dare not to wear them at all.

From ABC:

Enforcement began ramping up in April, with videos spreading online showing women having violent encounters with female enforcers dressed in the all-encompassing black chador alongside uniformed police officers.

While police haven’t published arrest numbers about the crackdown and media haven’t given it major attention, it’s widely discussed in Iran. But still, many women continue to wear their hijabs loosely or leave them draped around their shoulders while walking in Tehran.

In 2022, 22-year-old Iranian woman Mahsa Amini died from injuries sustained at the hands of regime thugs after her arrest for the “improper” wearing of a hijab; Iran has been engulfed in massive protests against the brutal regime.

Iranian men and women protested against the regime’s brutality and paid the price for daring to speak up.  Protestors faced being fired on with an AK-47 , the indiscriminately firing on protesters in the street from moving vehicles, the murder of Hadis Najafi , a powerful symbol of the uprisings, the kidnapping, torture, rape, and murder of Nika Shakarimi,  and a woman being dragged by police and sexually assaulted by a gang of Islamic Republic oppressive forces.

More than 500 protesters have been killed and almost 20,000 more detained, although those numbers are likely higher.

Never forget that the Biden administration extended a sanctions waiver allowing Iran to collect another $10 billion in funds.

Biden has now gifted the Iranian regime with $80 billion since entering the White House.

While they are using their time and their increasingly flush coffers to foment violence across the globe, the brutal regime has also stepped up executions of anti-regime activists and brutalizing more women who dare to push back against hijab rules.

Can Biden Resist Calling Trump a Nazi?

Trump vs. Biden debate image

This article originally appeared on WND.com

Guest by post by David Kupelian

It’s not just ‘the Charlottesville lie,’ it’s his ongoing compulsion to tie DJT to Hitler

It’s been perhaps the most damning and most repeated allegation President Joe Biden has made regarding his predecessor, President Donald Trump – that Trump is a Nazi, or approves of Nazis. Biden made the charge when he first accepted the nomination to be the Democrats’ presidential candidate in 2020. In fact, according to the Washington Post in “For Joe Biden, Charlottesville defines the Trump presidency,”Biden claimed it was his very reason for running for president. He repeated it in his inauguration speech. And he has probably repeated it more often than any other accusation toward Trump.

Unfortunately for Biden, his favorite method of tying Trump to Nazis and Hitler – the so-called “Charlottesville lie” – was recently shot down, for the umpteenth time, by the leftwing factcheck site Snopes.

“No, Trump Did Not Call Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists ‘Very Fine People’” announced Snopes, a full seven years after the incident occurred that gave rise to the allegation. In reality, Snopes’ clarification shouldn’t have been necessary, since many other news and factcheck entities, on both left and right, have long ago debunked the absurd claim that Trump praised Nazis and Klansmen.

With the CNN debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump looming, and the lie that Trump praised Nazis one of Biden’s favorite attack lines to fire at Trump, will Biden be able to resist using it again?

Of course, the real question doesn’t concern just “the Charlottesville lie” – one particular iteration of what is in truth a serial compulsion on the part of not only Biden, but other prominent Democrats and their media allies, to defame conservatives by comparing them with Nazis and fascists. The question is, will Biden succumb to this deeply ingrained habit of maligning the 45th president as somehow akin to Hitler?

Legendary columnist Charles Krauthammer once crystalized the issue in the Washington Post: “To understand the workings of American politics, you have to understand this fundamental law: Conservatives think liberals are stupid. Liberals think conservatives are evil.”

And the method of choice those on the left have long gravitated to for illustrating the supposed evil of those on the right has been to compare them to Nazis.

Thus, Hillary Clinton’s controversial June 6 D-Day post on X – obliquely but unmistakably comparing Trump to Hitler – was not the exception, but the rule.

Eighty years ago today, thousands of brave Americans fought to protect democracy on the shores of Normandy.

This November, all we have to do is vote.

— Hillary Clinton (@HillaryClinton) June 6, 2024

Indeed, as columnist and talk host Larry Elder has documented, “Comparing Republicans to Nazis has long been a national pastime of the Democratic Party”:

About Ronald Reagan, Steven F. Hayward, author of “The Age Of Reagan” wrote: “Liberals hated Reagan in the 1980s. Pure and simple. They used language that would make the most fervid anti-Obama rhetoric of the Tea Party seem like, well, a tea party. Democratic Rep. William Clay of Missouri charged that Reagan was ‘trying to replace the Bill of Rights with fascist precepts lifted verbatim from Mein Kampf.’”

After Republicans took control of the House in the mid-’90s, Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., compared the newly conservative-controlled House to “the Duma and the Reichstag,” referring to the legislature set up by Czar Nicholas II of Russia and the parliament of the German Weimar Republic that brought Hitler to power.

About President George W. Bush, billionaire Democratic contributor George Soros said, “(He displays the) supremacist ideology of Nazi Germany,” and that his administration used rhetoric that echoes his childhood in occupied Hungary. “When I hear Bush say, ‘You’re either with us or against us,’” Soros said, “it reminds me of the Germans.” He also said: “The (George W.) Bush administration and the Nazi and communist regimes all engaged in the politics of fear. … Indeed, the Bush administration has been able to improve on the techniques used by the Nazi and communist propaganda machines.”

Former Vice President Al Gore said: “(George W. Bush’s) executive branch has made it a practice to try and control and intimidate news organizations, from PBS to CBS to Newsweek. … And every day, they unleash squadrons of digital brown shirts to harass and hector any journalist who is critical of the President.” …

NAACP Chairman Julian Bond played the Nazi card several times. Speaking at historically black Fayetteville State University in North Carolina in 2006, Bond said, “The Republican Party would have the American flag and the swastika flying side by side.” …

After the 2012 Republican National Convention, California Democratic Party Chairman John Burton said, “(Republicans) lie, and they don’t care if people think they lie. As long as you lie, (Nazi propaganda minister) Joseph Goebbels – the big lie – you keep repeating it.”

Notwithstanding the Democratic Party’s long history of concocting outrageous Hitler parallels with Republicans, the U.S. president eliciting the most extreme and widespread Hitler comparisons – by far – has been Donald J. Trump.

As noted earlier, Joe Biden has endlessly repeated “the Charlottesville lie,” which falsely held that Trump had praised “very fine” neo-Nazis at a rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. Then, when a federal courthouse in Portland, Oregon, was being attacked night after night by violent radicals attempting to burn it down, and Trump sent federal law enforcement agents to secure the building, as was his right and duty, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said: “The use of stormtroopers under the guise of law and order is a tactic that is not appropriate to our country in any way.” Get it? “Stormtroopers”? Trump must be Hitler.

House Majority Whip James Clyburn echoed the same Hitler comparison, telling CNN, “This president and this attorney general seem to be doing everything they possibly can to impose Gestapo activities in local communities.” CNN’s Don Lemon compared Trump to Hitler on-air, as did Democratic presidential candidate Robert “Beto” O’Rourke. The truth is, throughout Trump’s presidency, Democrats and media personalities continually likened the 45th U.S. president to Hitler, demonized Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers as Nazi guards, and border detention facilities as “concentration camps.”

So the question is, will Joe Biden in Thursday’s CNN debate be able to resist his almost compulsive tendency to defame the 45th president of the United States, Donald J. Trump, as sympathetic to Hitler, neo-Nazis, fascists and Klansmen?
