Nineteen Killed in Terrorist Attacks on Churches in Dagestan

On Sunday, June 23, Islamic extremists launched coordinated attacks on churches across Russia’s Muslim-majority Republic of Dagestan, killing 19 people. Included among the dead is an 66-year-old Orthodox priest, Fr. Nikolai Kotelnikov, who was killed in Derbent when terrorists armed with automatic weapons entered his church and set fire to an icon.

In the city of Makhachkala, gunmen attacked a traffic police station and the Assumption Cathedral. The terrorists also set fire to a synagogue in Derbent.

These attacks on Christian and Jewish places of worship follow recent bouts of Islamic extremism across Russia. In March, IS-affiliated Tajiks killed over 140 in an attack on a concert in Moscow, and in October, a mob waving Palestinian flags rampaged through Makhachkala’s airport looking for Jews on a flight to Tel Aviv. Dagestan saw similar terror attacks around the time of the second Chechen War, after the Chechen leader Shamil Basayev led fighters in support of Dagestani Wahhabists in 1999.

Sergei Melikov, the leader of Dagestan, has announced that June 24 through 26 will be days of mourning, and that the attack was an “attempt to cleave apart our unity” (between Muslims, Christians, and Jews).

Putin’s Russia has maintained a complicated relationship with Islam. Since taking power, Putin has worked to include Muslims in Russian society, emphasizing Russia’s “multiethnic and multifaith history,” giving speeches in Tatar, and joining the Organization of Islamic Cooperation as an observer state. Migration from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, however, have slowly altered Russia’s Muslim population, as radical ideologies are prevalent in those nations.

DOJ: Assange Accepts Plea Deal

Julian Assange, founder of WikiLeaks, has accepted a plea deal offered by the Biden administration, according to new documents from the Justice Department.

As part of the deal, the U.S. will seek a 62-month prison sentence for Assange. As Assange has spent that amount of time incarcerated in Great Britain and the plea deal would include that as time served, it could potentially allow Assange to immediately be freed and return to his native Australia. Recently, the British government failed in its attempt to extradite Assange to the U.S. when London’s High court ruled that Assange can appeal his extradition.

Assange has been under indictment since 2019 for allegedly persuading Bradley “Chelsea” Manning into providing classified information to WikiLeaks on subjects such as the Iraq War, Guantanamo Bay, and information related to confidential sources. The U.S.has been attempting to try to prosecute Assange under the Espionage Act of 1917, which was infamously used by the Wilson administration to crush public dissent. The act precludes public interest as a defense.

According to CNN, the FBI and DOJ will not accept any plea deal from Assange other than a guilty one.

Trump Campaign Hit with Gag Order by CNN Days Ahead of Network’s Presidential Debate

Screenshot: Fox News

On his primetime Fox News show, Jesse Watters reported that CNN has issued a gag order against the Trump campaign just days before they are set to participate in the network’s upcoming presidential debate.

“CNN just slapped a gag order on the Trump campaign, days before the debate,” Watters said.

“We knew Trump’s mic would be muted during the debate, but we didn’t know his campaign’s mic would be muted before it. You can go on CNN and lie about Trump, Russia, call Republicans racist, Nazis, but you can’t say Tapper’s biased. If Jake’s not biased, why is he celebrating Trump losing?” Watters questioned.

Watters continued, expressing his dismay and concern over the fairness of the upcoming debate.

“They’re not only gagging the Trump campaign but also feeding Biden tips,” he added, suggesting a double standard in the treatment of the presidential candidates.

Podcaster Tim Pool also chimed in on this issue, stating, “CNN is now threatening any social channels that provide commentary on the debate stating they will not allow the use outside of CNN Commentary on a presidential debate is the epitome of fair use and we fully intend to provide insight and real-time fact-checking Thursday LIVE.”

This revelation comes after CNN’s Kasie Hunt abruptly cut off Trump’s spokeswoman, Karoline Leavitt, after she brought up Jake Tapper’s history of comparing Trump to Hitler.

Leavitt blasted Kasie Hunt following the interview. “You cut off my microphone for bringing up the debate moderator’s history of anti-Trump lies,” Karoline Leavitt said. “This proved our point that President Trump will not be treated fairly on Thursday.”

President Trump and Joe Biden are scheduled to face off in the first presidential debate on Thursday evening at 9 pm ET. The debate will be hosted by CNN in Atlanta with Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, both known for their critical views of Trump, as moderators. It’s certain that Trump will face unfair treatment on this radical network.

Judge Cannon Admonishes Jack Smith’s Prosecutor, Almost Tosses Him From Courtroom During Hearing Over Proposed Trump Gag Order

Judge Aileen Cannon Monday afternoon held a hearing on Jack Smith’s proposed gag orders against President Trump. Jack Smith was in the Fort Pierce courtroom on Monday taking notes.

After Monday’s hearing concluded, the judge did not issue a ruling on the gag order.

Earlier this month Jack Smith filed a motion seeking another gag order on Trump related to his statements on law enforcement over the Biden DOJ’s deadly force policy during the Mar-a-Lago raid.

President Trump’s lawyers lashed out at Jack Smith earlier this month in response to the special counsel’s second request for a gag order.

“In Jack Smith’s most recent shocking display of overreach and disregard for the Constitution, the Special Counsel’s Office asks the Court to enter an unconstitutional gag order as one of the release conditions on the leading candidate in the 2024 presidential election,” Trump’s attorneys wrote.

Last Friday night Special Counsel Jack Smith added to his gag order request against President Trump ahead of Monday’s hearing.

In a Friday night filing, Jack Smith reinforced his request for a gag order against Trump by claiming the federal agents involved in Hunter Biden’s care are receiving threats.

Jack Smith’s prosecutor David Harbach was so nasty and rude during Monday’s hearing on the proposed gag order that he was almost tossed out of the courtroom.

Judge Cannon admonished Harbach and warned him he would have to leave the courtroom if he couldn’t act appropriately.

Judge Aileen Cannon

“Mr. Harbach, I don’t appreciate your tone. I expect decorum in my courtroom at all times. If you cannot [act appropriately], one of your colleagues can,” Cannon said to Harbach according Julie Kelly who was inside the courtroom on Monday.

Harbach apologized to Judge Cannon after she threatened to throw him out of her courtroom: “I didn’t mean to be unprofessional.”

President Trump’s lead lawyer Todd Blanche argued that Jack Smith’s gag order would have a “chilling effect” on President Trump.

David Harbach argued that Trump isn’t allowed to lie about the FBI.

“Lies. Lies about the FBI coming to do violence to your family. In our opinion, that is way over the line,” Harbach said according to ABC News.

Trump didn’t lie about the FBI but lies are First Amendment protected speech.

Harbach threw a tantrum over protected speech and argued that Trump called for violence against the FBI.

“The most important thing is it talks about an event that is central to this case in utterly misleading terms,” Harbach said according to ABC News. “The government is at a loss to conceive any possible reason Mr. Trump would say something so false … and inviting of retributive violence.”

Judge Cannon wasn’t buying it and called him out.

“Where on the attachments do you see a call for violence?” Cannon said.

From FLA courthouse: Gag order hearing just ended. Will have details shortly.

Overall, the bad behavior by Jack Smith’s team continues. David Harbach, one of the lead prosecutors, almost got himself tossed out of court this afternoon.

The publisher was facing charges under the Espionage Act for publishing the Iraq and Afghan War Logs that were given to him by whistleblower Chelsea Manning. If convicted, he faced a maximum sentence of 175 years in prison for publishing the leaked materials.

On Monday evening, NBC News reported:

Assange was charged by criminal information — which typically signifies a plea deal — with conspiracy to obtain and disclose national defense information, the court documents say. A letter from Justice Department official Matthew McKenzie to U.S. District Judge Ramona Manglona of the U.S. District Court for the Northern Mariana Islands said that Assange would appear in court at 9 a.m. local time on Wednesday (or, 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday) to plead guilty and said that DOJ expects Assange will return to Australia, his country of citizenship, after the proceedings.

U.S. charges against Assange stem from one of the largest publications of classified information in American history, which took place during the first term of Barack Obama’s presidency. Starting in late 2009, according to the government, Assange conspired with Chelsea Manning, a military intelligence analyst, to disclose tens of thousands of activity reports about the war in Afghanistan, hundreds of thousands of reports about the war in Iraq, hundreds of thousands of State Department cables and assessment briefs of Guantanamo Bay detainees using his WikiLeaks website.

The court documents revealing Assange’s plea deal were filed Monday night in the U.S. District Court for the Northern Mariana Islands.

The Northern Mariana Islands are a U.S. territory in the Pacific Ocean.

Under the deal, Assange will appear in that court to be sentenced to 62 months in prison, with credit for the time he has already served in Belmarsh. This will allow him to return to his home in Australia.

The charges he will plead guilty to fall under “Conspiracy To Obtain and Disclose National Defense Information.”

Sharika Soal: Mayor Sheng Thao Disappeared After Raid And Is Accused Of Allowing DEI Boyfriend To Call The Shots

The truth is finally coming out about Oakland, California, and Mayor Sheng Thao.

BREAKING: FBI Agents Raid Home of Democrat Mayor of Oakland

READ: https://t.co/0rQ9hOqUVF pic.twitter.com/B9S3UdUXh8

— The Gateway Pundit (@gatewaypundit) June 20, 2024

After incumbent Libby Schaff’s term expired on November 8, 2022, Sheng Thao, a Democrat, was elected Mayor.

On January 20, 2023, Sheng Thao was sworn in as Mayor.

After the FBI raid on Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao’s home Thursday, a former chief of staff said she thinks the Mayor should resign.

Renia Webb, former Mayor’s chief of staff and trusted advisor, speaks out about pay-to-play allegations despite the FBI not linking Thao to illegal activity.

Renia Webb

CBS News reports,

Webb worked closely with and had access to Thao that few people had for a year and four months. Webb served as Thao’s right hand person working as chief of staff when Thao was the District 4 councilmember.

Webb said she volunteered and spent countless hours on Thao’s mayoral campaign in 2022. She said she also led Thao’s transition team after Thao won the election.

“A lot of what’s coming out now is the reason I resigned shortly there after winning the election that we fought so hard to win,” said Webb.

She said was more sad than surprised about FBI agents raiding Thao’s home on Thursday.

“I wasn’t surprised. I was like, ‘Finally. Finally the truth is coming out,’” recalled Webb.

Webb accuses Thao’s boyfriend Andre Jones of being the mastermind and running pay-to-play schemes during Thao’s campaign for mayor and after she won.

“I had found out that Andre, her boyfriend, was promising people jobs in our administration, promising people appointments on different commissions and boards.” said Webb. “I definitely believe that, out of the mouth of the people that told me, they were promised positions, they were promised board positions. And [they would always say] Andre, you know? That’s who they would say, ‘Andre promised me this.’”

Andre Jones and Sheng Thao

According to Webb, Jones was in control and “calling the shots.” She said Thao followed his lead.

“It’s sad. He’s making her do things, pushing her to do things that I don’t believe she would do otherwise. I just really don’t,” said Webb.

Andre Jones and Mayor Sheng Thao – Flicker

Jones and Thao met while working for Councilmember Rebecca Kaplan. Jones was Kaplan’s chief of staff, and Thao was an intern.

“When I first mentioned to Sheng, at that house that got raided [on Thursday], that people were coming to me on what Andre had promised them,” explained Webb. “And her response to me was, ‘Just ignore Andre. You’re going to be making close to $200,000. Just ignore it.’ And it just hurt my heart. I just looked at her and told her ‘I don’t care about the money.’”

After Thao won the election in November, Webb said she resigned on New Year’s Eve 2022. She said in early 2023, she complained to the city council and the Public Ethics Commission about the pay-to-play allegation.

She said the council ignored her complaint. The ethics commission sent a follow-up email requesting evidence, but Webb could not produce physical evidence, so that complaint went nowhere.

No one is shocked: Thao, already facing a recall vote, is under heavy pressure following the recent raids. Even the Oakland chapter of the NAACP, a well-known left-wing group, is calling for her to step down. This emphasizes her failures as a leader and the overall disgust with how she handled proceedings.

When Conservatives said that DEI meant death to integrity in our government, this is what they meant.

Maybe we should stop calling everyone racist for not wanting thugs in control of a Mayor’s office just because they are not white.

Temp. Worker for Maricopa County Elections Arrested for Stealing “Security Fob and Keys” From MCTEC Tabulation Center

Walter Ringfield

On Thursday morning, a temporary election worker, Walter Ringfield, allegedly went into the Maricopa County Tabulation and Election Center (MCTEC) and stole a security fob and keys.

The theft was discovered when election workers conducted a daily inventory.  Surveillance footage appears to show Ringfield taking items from a desk around 5pm on Thursday evening.

According to KTAR News:

Ringfield was seen on surveillance camera footage taking the missing item from a desk around 5 p.m. Thursday, according to court documents.

“On the desk there was a red scrunchy wrist lanyard with a security fob and keys attached,” the probable cause statement for Ringfield’s arrest says. “Walter stops at the desk, grabs the lanyard with security fob and continues walking. Walter then puts the security fob and lanyard into the right pocket of his shorts.”

Detectives served a search warrant at Ringfield’s Phoenix home Friday and found the security fob inside a bedroom dresser and the wrist lanyard in his car, according to the arrest report.

The probable cause statement said, “Walter stated the reason for taking the fob was because he wanted to ‘clean up’”

Election workers are in the process of reprogramming the tabulators and reconducting Logic and Accuracy Testing.

MCTEC sent a statement to abc15:

“Maricopa County Elections has referred a matter to law enforcement that involves an alleged theft of an item by a temporary election worker from the Maricopa County Tabulation and Election Center.

On Friday morning, when completing a daily inventory, Maricopa County elections workers identified that an item was taken from the Ballot Tabulation Center on Thursday evening, and staff took immediate action to investigate the matter and contacted the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. The stolen item has been recovered but to ensure the integrity of Maricopa County Elections, election workers are reprogramming and re-conducting logic and accuracy testing of all equipment.

Due to the on-going criminal investigation of this matter, we cannot provide any additional comment or details. For information, please contact Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Office.”

Safe and secure… right?

UPDATE: More Details Emerge as President Trump Narrows Running Mate List to Three Candidates

Anticipation over selection over who President Trump will select as his running-mate reached fever pitch over the weekend as the 45th President proclaimed just before a rally in Philadelphia he had already made the pick in his mind.

Now, reports have emerged that the list of contenders for the coveted number two spot has narrowed.

NewsNation has learned Trump has finalized his list to three candidates: North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, Ohio Senator J.D. Vance, and Florida Senator Marco Rubio. CNN and NBC have also revealed the same three names are finalists on Trump’s list.

Trump’s original list also included Senators Tim Scott (R-SC) and Tom Cotton (R-AR), Representatives Byron Donalds (R-FL) and Elise Stefanik (R-NY), as well as former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson in addition to the three finalists.

NBC further reports that the choice will likely come down to Burgum and Vance. NBC notes that Burgum has made a massive impression on Trump, particularly with his loyalty, looks, and wealth.

Another point in Burgum’s favor is that his understated demeanor means there’s no risk of him outshining the 45th President. Trump wants workhorses to help advance his agenda, not folks looking to rush to the cameras.

Moreover, Burgum will also be in attendance at Trump’s debate with Joe Biden this Thursday according to NewsNation. This is potentially significant because Trump has said that his pick would be at the showdown.

It is unknown at this point whether Vance and Rubio will be in attendance as well.

Vance has powerful MAGA forces in his corner, including Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., and Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk. Key arguments advocates of Vance make on his behalf are his blue-collar appeal and youth.

“JD is the only person in the final three — Rubio, Burgum, JD Vance — that is a popular elected official in the blue wall, and he’s also under the age of 40,” Kirk told NBC last week. “So I’m on Team Vance.”

Rubio remains in the game due to his relationship with top Trump campaign strategist Susie Wiles and other Florida GOP insiders who are assisting Trump’s campaign. But NBC says concerns remain about his ability to obtain residency outside of Florida along with his overall enthusiasm for the job.

There is also that nasty 2016 campaign where both mean trading colorful insults at one another. The corporate media and Democrats will be sure to air those clips to split Republicans.

Trump has consistently stated his choice will be revealed at the GOP convention next month. One can be sure America’s ultimate showman will ensure the announcement is must-see television.

UPDATE: Four Other States to Launch Massive Lawsuits Against Pfizer, Accusing the Pharma Giant of Deceiving the Public About COVID Vaccine Safety and Efficacy

Screenshot

Four additional states will follow Kansas’s lead by filing large-scale lawsuits against pharmaceutical giant Pfizer. These states allege that the company misled the public regarding the safety and efficacy of its COVID-19 vaccine.

Last week, Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach announced that he is suing pharmaceutical giant Pfizer for misleading Kansas residents about the safety and efficacy of its COVID-19 vaccine.

During a press conference in Topeka, alongside Deputy Attorney General Fran Oleen and Assistant Attorneys General Kaley Schrader and Melanie Jack, Kobach detailed the allegations lodged against Pfizer.

“Kansas is filing a civil suit against the Pfizer Corporation under the Kansas Consumer Protection Act, seeking enhanced civil monetary penalties, damages, and injunctive relief for misleading and deceptive statements made in marketing its COVID-19 vaccine. Pfizer also violated previous consent judgments with the state of Kansas, in which Pfizer promised never to use deceptive information to market their products,” said Kobach.

The complaint, lodged today in Thomas County District Court, accuses Pfizer of misleading Kansans about the vaccines’ risks, including potential harm to pregnant women and the risk of myocarditis. The suit further alleges that Pfizer falsely claimed its vaccine was effective against COVID variants, despite evidence to the contrary.

The State of Kansas outlines several specific allegations in its lawsuit:

1. Pfizer misled the public that it had a “safe and effective” COVID-19 vaccine.

2. Pfizer said its COVID-19 vaccine was safe even though it knew its COVID-19 vaccine was connected to serious adverse events, including myocarditis and pericarditis, failed pregnancies, and deaths. Pfizer concealed this critical safety information from the public.

3. Pfizer said its COVID-19 vaccine was effective even though it knew its COVID19 vaccine waned over time and did not protect against COVID-19 variants. Pfizer concealed this critical effectiveness information from the public.

4. Pfizer said its COVID-19 vaccine would prevent transmission of COVID-19 even though it knew it never studied the effect of its vaccine on transmission of COVID-19.

5. To keep the public from learning the truth, Pfizer worked to censor speech on social media that questioned Pfizer’s claims about its COVID-19 vaccine.

6. Pfizer’s misrepresentations of a “safe and effective” vaccine resulted in record company revenue of approximately $75 billion from COVID-19 vaccine sales in just two years.

7. Pfizer’s actions and statements relating to its COVID-19 vaccine violated previous consent judgments with the State of Kansas.

8. Pfizer’s actions and statements relating to its COVID-19 vaccine violated the Kansas Consumer Protection Act, K.S.A. 50-623 et seq., regardless of whether any individual consumer ultimately received Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine.

9. Pfizer must be held accountable for falsely representing the benefits of its COVID19 vaccine while concealing and suppressing the truth about its vaccine’s safety risks, waning effectiveness, and inability to prevent transmission.

During the conference, Kobach mentioned that Kansas is among the first five states to file a lawsuit against the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer.

“Kansas’s case is the first of a multi-state collaboration, with Kansas being the first of five states to file suit,” Kobach said during the press conference.

When a reporter asked about the number of damages that could be in this lawsuit and whether they are seeking a jury trial or a bench trial, Kobach said, “The damages depend. I think ultimately, when you’re talking about five states, then you’re talking about much greater numbers of people than the 2.9 million or so that live in Kansas. I hesitate to offer a prediction, because we don’t seek a certain number. It’s ultimately going to be the judgment of the court in that case. We have not yet made a determination whether to seek bench or jury.”

It remains unclear which states will join Kansas, but during the press conference, Kobach revealed that Idaho will be one of the four other states involved.

“Some of them have said they want to announce it on their own. Idaho is one of the other states who said that we may let you know,” Kobach said.

It can be recalled Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has initiated legal action against pharmaceutical giant Pfizer, Inc., citing allegations of deceptive practices related to the company’s COVID-19 vaccine.

The lawsuit asserts that Pfizer engaged in misrepresenting the vaccine’s efficacy, particularly challenging the claim of 95% effectiveness, and accuses the company of trying to stifle public debate on the matter.

Attorney General Paxton accuses Pfizer of violating the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act through “false, deceptive, and misleading acts and practices.”

The lawsuit highlights the company’s claims that the vaccine has a 95% efficacy rate against COVID-19 infection, stating that this was based on “relative risk reduction” in Pfizer’s initial short-term clinical trial results.

It is argued that this figure is a misleading statistic that should not be used to unduly influence consumer choice, especially since the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has indicated that long-term vaccine protection could not accurately be predicted at that point.

Furthermore, the lawsuit alleges that Pfizer misrepresented the durability of the vaccine’s protection and failed to disclose information that contradicted its claims. Additionally, it is claimed that Pfizer did not measure whether the vaccine prevents transmission but still promoted it as necessary to protect others.

As the vaccine’s efficacy came under scrutiny, Pfizer is accused of taking aggressive measures to suppress critics and silence truth-tellers, who the company labeled as “criminals” spreading “misinformation,” according to the lawsuit.

“A Separation of Powers Concern” – Judge Cannon Grills Jack Smith’s Prosecutor Over Funding For Special Counsel

From left: Special Counsel Jack Smith, U.S. District Court Judge Aileen M. Cannon and former President Donald Trump. (@axios / X screen shot)

Judge Aileen Cannon early Monday held a hearing on the constitutionality of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s appointment.

Judge Cannon grilled Jack Smith’s prosecutor James Pearce over funding for the special counsel, oversight of the team, and whether Jack Smith is a superior or inferior officer.

The Justice Department claims Jack Smith is an inferior officer who answers to US Attorney General Merrick Garland.

The special counsel has not released a financial report since September 2023 which is a violation of the 6-month reporting requirement, investigative reporter Julie Kelly said.

Jack Smith’s team of angry Democrat prosecutors is much larger than Robert Mueller’s team – and there is virtually no oversight.

Judge Cannon grilled Jack Smith’s prosecutor over the limitless funding of the special counsel’s operation.

Trump’s lawyer Emil Bove argued that Jack Smith’s operation requires “interaction between Congress” but it is “nonexistent.”

“There is no oversight by Congress for the extraordinary and unprecedented things that are happening in this case,” Emil Bove said, according to Julie Kelly who was in the Fort Pierce courtroom on Monday.

“When it’s limitless, I think there is a separation of powers concern,” Cannon said to James Pearce.

ABC News reported:

Defense lawyer Emil Bove argued Monday that the funding of the special counsel’s office was unconstitutional because it relies on a “permanent indefinite appropriation” that is outside of the normal budget process.

“Is there any cap to the funding?” Judge Cannon asked.

“No, and I think that is part of the reason … to be very wary of who can access it and why,” Bove said. “There is no check on the scope of what’s going on here.”

As Bove hammered at the constitutionality of the special counsel’s office, Smith himself sat just feet away in the courtroom, occasionally jotting down notes during the argument. Smith did not attend Friday’s hearing.

While Cannon appeared skeptical of Bove’s argument at times — including accusing him of doing a “flip flop” on his position about the independence of the special counsel’s office — she pressed assistant special counsel James Pearce about the office’s budget.
