Joe Biden has addressed reports of people trying to push him out with one simple message: not on my watch. But in true Dementia Joe style, he could not go one day without proving why he is a national embarrassment.

NBC News Senior Correspondent Gabe Gutierrez reported that during a campaign staff call Wednesday, Biden vowed to continue running until the bitter end, and no one would stop him.

During the call, Biden said, “Let me say this as clearly as I possibly can, as simply and straightforward as I can: I am running. No one’s pushing me out. I’m not leaving.

“I’m in this race to the end and we’re going to win.”

White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients also begged people during the meeting to ignore the “noise” and focus on governing.

But Biden could not go through a simple call with the friendliest possible audience without humiliating himself again. Trump Communications advisor Steven Cheung, who infiltrated a Biden campaign internal call yesterday, managed to get on the campaign staff call. He revealed that Dementia Joe had another distressing “episode” when he and Harris called in.

It turns out Biden forgot the name of HIS OWN CHIEF OF STAFF. Afterward, there was a long pause and awkward silence on the line as Biden’s “brain” froze again.

Atlantic writer Adam Serwer is calling on Joe Biden to resign the presidency in a column published Wednesday. Serwer makes the point that has been studiously ignored by wobbling Biden supporters and the media in conversations about whether Biden should drop out of the presidential race after his debate debacle against President Trump last Thursday: That is Biden is not fit to run for president, then he is unfit to be president and must resign.

Biden’s resignation would mean hello President Kamala Harris. And that’s the point for Serwer. He believes the American people would warm up to voting for Harris in the fall after seeing her as president for the previous few months in order to save the nation from the liberal nightmare of a Trump presidency.

Joe Biden must resign the presidency. The last person to do so was Richard Nixon, who left in disgrace after abusing the powers of his office. Nixon had to resign because he led an assault on American democracy. Biden must resign for the opposite reason: to give American democracy its best chance of surviving.

The American right has spent every day since Biden was nominated in 2020 presenting him as an incompetent, doddering old fool, incapable of discharging the responsibilities of the office. Biden’s task at the first presidential debate, on Thursday, was to dismiss those allegations as mere smears, as he did in 2020. Instead, he confirmed that he has aged dramatically over the past four years. Biden was very old to begin with, and at the debate he appeared far more visibly diminished than he has in the past.

The Trumpified Supreme Court’s decision on Monday granting imperial powers to any president unscrupulous enough to use them has raised the stakes of the election tremendously, and they were already too high. As it stands, Donald Trump’s advisers are already indicating that a Trump victory in November would result in not the inauguration of a president but the coronation of a caesar. If Trump wins, he will have the presidency Nixon wanted, one in which nothing the president does is illegal. Kevin Roberts, the president of the Heritage Foundation, which aspires to staff a future Trump administration, has made clear that the MAGA right contemplates using this newfound imperial power to employ political violence against its opposition. “We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be,” Roberts told the far-right network Real America News. Trump’s supporters seem less to wish to govern than to rule indefinitely by force, and they believe that the Court has given them its blessing.

For that reason, Democratic Representative Lloyd Doggett of Texas on Tuesday called for Biden to withdraw from the race. But that is insufficient. If Biden is incapable of campaigning because of his deterioration, he is also not capable of being president. And if he is incapable of being president, then he should resign and allow Vice President Kamala Harris to take the oath of office.

Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) made the same point on X Twitter Wednesday morning, “Democrat Party elites and their media mouthpieces are now obsessed with replacing Biden on the ballot. But if he’s unfit to run for president, he certainly isn’t fit to *be* president. If he doesn’t run again, he needs to resign as Commander in Chief.”

Several liberal newspapers led by the New York Times have called on Biden to step down from the race, but none have called on him to resign.

Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) who became the first elected Democrat to call on Biden to drop out of the race on Tuesday did not call on him to resign.

Yet as Serwer correctly observes, Biden’s presidency is on the line.

French President Emmanuel Macron and Jean-Luc Mélenchon, the leader of the leftist New Popular Front, have decided to collaborate in the second round to prevent the conservative Rassemblement National party from winning a majority. The two parties have agreed to drop some candidates in races that would otherwise have three-way runoffs between the NFP, Macron’s Ensemble Party, and the RN.

The move sparked outrage among many in France, with RN’s candidate for prime minister, Jordan Bardella, calling it “an alliance of dishonor,” citing Mélenchon’s extremism. Likewise, Stéphane Le Rudulier, a senator of the center-right Les Républicains, likewise condemned Macron’s decision as “morally insupportable and democratically abject.” Le Figaro, a center-right newspaper, ran an article describing the Macron-Mélenchon alliance as “la coalition des Tartuffe,” using a word meaning a faux-virtuous hypocrite. 

Recently, the New Popular Front has been criticized for some of the extremist actions of its candidates, which include lengthy criminal files for anti-police activities, defenses of Hamas, anti-white racism and antisemitism, and violent threats directed at women attending a vigil for a teacher slain by ISIS. Last week, Mélenchon came under further criticism for defending signs such as one stating “one dead cop = one less vote for the RN.” Mélenchon has also accused “those who call themselves the ethnic French” of “posing a serious problem to the cohesion of society.”

Macron’s decision to collaborate with parties to his left is a reversal from his previous position. Macron and his Prime Minister Gabriel Attal criticized the Socialist Party this week for working with the far left. Attal referred to the Socialist pact with the left as an “accord of shame.”

Macron and Attal, however, are still ruling out forming a governing coalition with the left, insisting that they will work to pass legislation on a case-by-case basis.

Governor Glenn Youngkin announced recently that Virginia would decouple from California’s onerous mandate requiring all new vehicles sold in the Commonwealth to be electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles (EVs) by 2035. This regulation—a ban on sales of new gas, diesel and traditional hybrid vehicles—promulgated by the California Air Resources Board (CARB), would have taken effect as soon as next year when 35% of all model year 2026 cars sold would be required to meet California’s definition of “zero emission.”

This all stems from a 2021 bill championed by then-Governor Northam and his allies in the General Assembly. They enacted policy directing the Virginia Air Pollution Control Board (APCB) to adopt regulations tying Virginia law to California’s vehicle emission standards. And if you can believe it, the law was intentionally exempted from the Administrative Process Act, denying Virginians any opportunity to give input on the regulatory process and dodging larger economic review for the policy.

It sounds brazen, but that’s exactly what happened: the previous administration in Richmond put Virginia vehicle policy in the hands of Californians.

In November 2022, California finalized entirely new regulations at the direction of their Governor Gavin Newsom. Under the new California policy, selling any new gas, diesel, flex-fuel or traditional hybrid cars and trucks would be unlawful and subject to severe penalties, whether in California or in states aligned with California.

California’s gas car ban would have been devastating for Virginia drivers and small businesses and damaging to U.S. national security. Consumers would have paid dearly under the ban, facing higher costs in both the new and used car markets and finding more and more vehicles simply priced out of reach for families. Any compliance penalties levied on automakers—roughly $20,000 per vehicle—would also likely be passed on to Virginia consumers.

The absurd and un-American mandate to “go electric” on California’s timeline would also have increased Virginia’s and the U.S. dependence on China, since China controls the global EV battery and mineral supply chain.

Make no mistake: criticism of California’s gas car ban and EV mandate policies—and fervent opposition to the spread of those policies in the Commonwealth of Virginia and to any other state—should not be construed as an indictment of EVs themselves. EVs are a good choice for many Americans, and if those cars and trucks work for a family’s needs and fit within their budgets, that’s wonderful. Families have every right to make the choice to buy an EV, but no government mandate should compel them toward that purchase or restrict their access to other vehicle options.

When the stakes are absolutely clear and the choice is between government mandates and consumer freedom, the right move is to err on the side of consumers. And that’s exactly what Governor Youngkin did when he chose to end California’s control over the vehicles that can and cannot be sold in Virginia. Virginia drivers, not California regulators 3,000 miles away, should be able to choose for themselves which vehicles to purchase. When people are free to choose, they make decisions that work best for them, their businesses and their families.

Other states tethered to California’s EV mandate should follow Governor Youngkin’s bold and necessary leadership and free their residents, too, from the tyranny of California’s gas car ban.

The White House press pool on Wednesday continued to grill Karine Jean-Pierre about Biden’s mental state.

White House reporters from Fox News, CBS, CNN, ABC, Reuters, AP, Bloomberg, Newsmax, and NBC on Tuesday repeatedly grilled Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about Joe Biden’s cognitive decline following his disastrous debate performance.

They did not let up on Wednesday and continued to pepper KJP with questions about Biden’s cognitive decline, light schedule and reported daily naps.

“Why are we not seeing [Biden] out there every single way in an unscripted way without teleprompters?” one reporter asked KJP.

KJP was visibly irritated.

According to a Tuesday report from Puck News, an internal poll commissioned by the Democrats through the polling firm Open Labs, the former President Donald Trump holds a wide lead against Biden in many swing states.

The poll shows Trump with a commanding lead in all swing states. In Georgia and Arizona, which Biden won in 2020, Trump leads by 10.1 and 9.7 percent respectively. In Michigan, which has become the focus of attention in the election due to its large Muslim minority, Trump leads by 6.9 percent. Per the poll, in many normally non-competitive states, such as New Hampshire, Virginia, and New Mexico, Trump holds a lead.

According to the poll, Trump also holds a 6 percent lead against Biden in the national popular vote when third parties are included. The incumbent president is pulling 37.6 percent. The tipping-point state in the election currently is Pennsylvania, where Biden trails by 7.3 percent. 

The poll comes at a time when several Congressional Democrats have become increasingly pessimistic about Biden’s chances. Yesterday, Rep. Jared Gold (D-ME) published an op-ed about how he thinks Donald Trump will win and is at peace with that. Likewise, Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA) also gave an interview stating that she believes Trump will defeat Biden.

Joe Biden’s former non-binary Department of Energy employee Sam Brinton will avoid jail after he pleaded guilty to petit larceny in a sweetheart plea deal with prosecutors.

Brinton, a gender-fluid ‘pup handler,’ was facing up to 20 years in prison on felony grand larceny charges related to the baggage theft of an African dress designer.

Asya Khamsin, the Houston-based Tanzanian fashion designer alleged Sam Brinton stole her luggage in March 2018.

Brinton will undergo mental health treatment, complete 50 hours of community service and write an apology letter as part of his plea deal with prosecutors.

Under a civil lawsuit settlement, Brinton agreed to pay Khamsin an undisclosed settlement and wrote her an apology letter, the Free Beacon reported.

Brinton previously avoided jail in a sweetheart deal with prosecutors in connection with the other two baggage theft cases.

Sam Brinton is a free man. The disgraced former Department of Energy official pleaded guilty to petit larceny as part of a sweetheart deal that will see him serve no jail time after facing felony charges that carried a sentence of up to 20 years.

State prosecutors quietly announced the plea deal during a hearing last week in Arlington General District Court, which is just an eight-minute drive from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport where Brinton stole a Tanzanian female fashion designer’s luggage containing her custom designs six years ago.

According to prosecutors, Brinton entered into an adult diversion program, which requires him to undergo mental health treatment, write a letter of apology, and complete 50 hours of community service helping the elderly. As part of the deal, the charges against Brinton were amended from grand larceny, a felony offense, to petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

Sam Brinton was also charged for stealing women’s luggage at two other airports – Minneapolis and Las Vegas but he avoided jail for those charges as well.
