CNN is now reporting that the Trump Camp was made aware of an Iranian assassination plot against Trump before Saturday’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

According to the report, Secret Service ramped up security after receiving intel about the assassination plot.

Saturday’s would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks had no connection to the Iranian assassination plot, according to CNN.

“Secret Service learned of the increased threat from this threat stream,” the official told CNN. “NSC directly contacted USSS at a senior level to be absolutely sure they continued to track the latest reporting. USSS shared this information with the detail lead, and the Trump campaign was made aware of an evolving threat. In response to the increased threat, Secret Service surged resources and assets for the protection of former President Trump. All of this was in advance of Saturday.”

The Trump campaign refused to comment on the threat.

“We do not comment on President Trump’s security detail. All questions should be directed to The United States Secret Service,” the Trump camp told CNN.

US authorities obtained intelligence from a human source in recent weeks on a plot by Iran to try to assassinate Donald Trump, a development that led to the Secret Service increasing security around the former president in recent weeks, multiple people briefed on the matter told CNN.

There’s no indication that Thomas Matthew Crooks, the would-be assassin who attempted to kill the former president on Saturday, was connected to the plot, the sources said.

The existence of the intelligence threat from a hostile foreign intelligence agency — and the enhanced security for Trump — raises new questions about the security lapses at the Saturday rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and how a 20-year-old man managed to access a nearby rooftop to fire shots that injured the former president.

If the intel report is true, the Secret Service did not ramp up its security at Saturday’s rally.

According to NBC News, the Secret Service identified the rooftop next to Trump’s Butler, Pennsylvania event as a security vulnerability days before the rally.

The agents failed to secure the building so a man with a rifle was able to climb up to the roof, position his scope, and fire several shots at President Trump.

In a video posted to X the would-be Trump assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks was seen bear crawling on the roof as bystanders pointed him out to law enforcement.

An officer was right next to the building as bystanders alerted him to the potential threat.

One Trump rallygoer told CBS News, “I was just standing there like everyone else, just waiting for Trump. And as Trump started, I noticed two officers looking for something or somebody.”

The witness added, “So I was looking around myself and seen a guy on top of one of the buildings go in between one building to the next and went and told the officer he was up there.”

Another witness who spoke to BBC News said the gunman was ‘bear crawling’ up the roof of the unsecured building. The witness said he was pointing at the gunman for two to three minutes and trying to alert police to the potential threat.

Star Wars actor Mark Hamill has mocked Donald Trump’s injuries in the wake of the assassination attempt against him on Saturday.

Trump, who miraculously survived an assassination attempt carried out by Thomas Matthew Crooks, appeared at the Republican National Convention wearing a bandage on his right earlobe, fragments of which were blown off by gunfire.

However, Hamill appears to believe it is all for show.

“1st APPEARANCE of ludicrously oversized ear bandage, apparently not needed prior to tonight,” Hamill wrote on the X platform, which he uses mainly to promote Joe Biden’s presidency.

Following the attack, Hamill said there was no place for violence in politics but blamed him for refusing to support aggressive gun control measures.

“There is no place for violence in politics- EVER. I’m grateful the former president is okay,” he wrote. “That said, never forget that this is the guy who promised the NRA he would do ‘nothing’ on gun control & told victims of shootings to ‘just get over it.’”

Back in May, Hamill made a cringeworthy appearance in front of the White House press corps where most of his jokes fell flat. “I called him ‘Mr. President.’ He said, ‘You can call me Joe,’” he quipped at the time. “I said, ‘Can I call you Joe-B-Wan Kenobi?’”

Tensions are running high after an out-of-town police officer fatally shot an individual early Tuesday afternoon near the RNC perimeter security in Milwaukee, according to local law enforcement sources, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Brian Steel, president of the Fraternal Order of Police Capitol City Lodge No. 9, confirmed the involvement of Columbus police in the Milwaukee shooting.

The incident occurred approximately 1.2 miles from Fiserv Forum, the primary venue for the RNC, at the intersection of 14th and Vliet Streets.

According to WISN 12 News, witnesses reported that two men were involved in a confrontation in King Park, during which one of the individuals pulled out a knife.

The situation escalated rapidly when a significant number of police officers, including Secret Service agents, responded to the scene. Witnesses claim that the man with the knife was shot by several officers, though official confirmation from police is pending.

Witnesses say the man with the knife was fired on by numerous officers. This has not yet been confirmed by police.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office has not confirmed if it has responded to the scene, but multiple people have told WISN 12 News the person shot has died.

The officers involved in the shooting are not from the Milwaukee Police Department but are from Columbus, Ohio.

A statement from the Columbus Fraternal Order of Police says no officers were injured.

Police from 63 departments in 24 states and Washington, D.C., along with 44 Wisconsin agencies are in Milwaukee this week for the Republican National Convention.

WISN 12 News Political Director Matt Smith talked to Mayor Cavalier Johnson at the RNC who said he was just being briefed on the situation.

The incident itself does not appear to be related to the RNC.

According to WISN 12 News sources, the police line has been expanded to 17th and Vliet streets.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that “Crowds have been gathering at the scene. More than 100 officers have been seen in the area.”

The rapper Amber Rose has ripped into MSNBC’s resident wacko Joy Reid, describing her as a “race baiter” after she suggested that Rose had built her entire career on black culture.

Following Rose’s speech at the Republican National Convention on Monday, Reid was clearly triggered by such a popular mixed race woman’s support for Trump’s candidacy.

She complained:

I don’t know anyone who takes their political cues from Amber Rose, but just in case you do, you might want to duplicate doing your own research, because she might not have done it thoroughly.

They brought somebody whose whole career is based on Black culture — she used to be on a show on BET, that’s the reason most people know who she is, she dated one of the most prominent African American rappers in the business, in the history of hip-hop — so her whole culture came from Black culture, even though she says she’s not a Black person herself,” Reid said, referring to Rose’s relationship with Ye, the rapper born Kanye West.

The fact that she is now the person they’re using to try to recruit young people of color, and to say that this is the person who is the endorser of Donald Trump when she won’t even claim the culture that brought her to the table, I’m dubious that this will work.

Rose quickly fired back at Reid, stating that she will not invalidate her white father.

“I’ve never said I wasn’t black I said I identify as biracial,” she wrote. “I’m not going to invalid my white father to make you feel more comfortable. Stop being a race baiter ur president does enough race baiting for all of us.”

Joe Biden sat down for an interview with NBC’s Lester Holt to discuss the assassination attempt against President Trump.

A bullet grazed President Trump’s ear on Saturday during his Pennsylvania rally.

A gunman was able to climb on top of a roof next to Trump’s Butler, Pennsylvania rally and put Trump in his scope.

The assassination attempt happened just one week after Biden issued veiled threats to Trump.

In a phone call with Democrat donors on July 8, Biden said “it’s time to put Trump in the bullseye.”

Joe Biden also issued a veiled threat during his interview with George Stephanopoulos just one week before a gunman attempted to assassinate President Trump.

Lester Holt confronted Joe Biden about his threatening and dehumanizing language that led to the attempted assassination against President Trump.

Of course, Biden denied he used that ‘type of rhetoric.’

Lester Holt also asked Joe Biden about his cognitive decline.

“If you were to have, continue to run and be officially nominated, what happens if you have another episode like we saw during the debate?” Lester Holt asked Biden.

And just like that Joe Biden had another ‘episode.’

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on Tuesday afternoon called on Senator Bob Menendez to resign after a jury convicted the New Jersey Senator on bribery, corruption and extortion charges.

In October Bob Menendez was charged with acting as a foreign agent in a superseding indictment.

The indictment filed by a federal grand jury in Manhattan claims Menendez “provided sensitive U.S. Government information and took other steps that secretly aided the Government of Egypt.”

In January Menendez was hit with a second superseding indictment for praising Qatar in exchange for luxury watches.

In March Bob Menendez and his wife Nadine Menendez were charged with obstruction of justice in an 18-count indictment.

Special agents discovered $500,000 of cash stuffed into envelopes in closets. “Some of the cash was stuffed in the Senator’s jacket pockets. Menendez’s wife Nadine Menendez was given a “no-show” or “low-show” job, a Mercedes Benz and other things of value, US Attorney Damian Williams said last year.

A jury on Tuesday convicted Senator Bob Menendez on all bribery and corruption charges.

The jury returned the verdict following a 9-week trial. Menendez did not testify.

Schumer called on Menendez to resign after allowing him to attend classified briefings for the last several months even though he was charged with acting as a foreign agent.

“In light of this guilty verdict, Senator Menendez must now do what is right for his constituents, the Senate, and our country, and resign,” Schumer said on X.

“This case has always been about shocking levels of corruption, hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes in the form of cash, gold bars, a Mercedes Benz. Democrats in Congress are back at it with another round of attacks on Joe Biden after taking a break following the assassination attempt against Trump.

Nearly two dozen Democrat lawmakers have called for Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 race following his disastrous debate performance.

The rebellion took a back seat for a few days after a bullet grazed Trump’s ear at a Pennsylvania rally on Saturday.

But the Democrats are back at it with an effort to sabotage the DNC’s plan for an early ‘virtual roll call.’

The DNC scheduled a virtual roll call as early as July 21 to nominate Joe Biden before the DNC Convention in Chicago in response to Ohio’s ballot access rules.

Congressional Democrats are circulating a letter addressed to the DNC. They argued that there is no legal justification for an early virtual roll call because the Ohio legislature changed the ballot rules to accommodate Joe Biden.

The Democrats want to leave room for ‘debate’ before the DNC Convention in August.

In his home state of Wisconsin, Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) gave a speech Monday at the Republican National Convention in which he highlighted the transformation of the GOP under the former President Donald Trump. 

Centering his speech around the Democrat’s leftward shift on social issues, Johnson told the audience, “Today’s Democrat Party is not the party of our parents or grandparents, that party cared about workers and people struggling to get by. Now they are the party of open borders, reckless spending, weaponized government, and weakness on the world stage.”

“This fringe agenda includes biological males competing against girls and the sexualization and indoctrination of our children,” said Johnson. “Democrats have forgotten American families, they have abandoned the hard working middle class, but with President Trump’s Republicans, those forgotten Americans are forgotten no more.”

Shortly after his speech at the Republican National Convention, Senator Ron Johnson talked with The American Conservative’s Bradley Devlin about the center of gravity in the Republican Party shifting towards the Midwest, highlighting the decision to host the RNC in Johnson’s home state this year. 

Johnson argued that Trump’s background has given him a particular strength in the former Blue Wall, stating:

Think of his background, he’s a developer, right? So he’s into construction. He goes to construction sites, he loves the workers. And he talks to the workers. And they like the fact that he talks to him. So he has that connection with workers.

Johnson reiterated his claim about the Democrats abandoning the working class, stating that they “used to be the party of workers and people struggling to get by,” but that they have become “the party of wokeness.” 

“We’re the party that represents the forgotten men and women of this country,” Johnson said.
