I reach out to my fellow Americans to help me. I urgently need to raise legal funding to sue CBS and other “news” outlets for libel and defamation of character.
The statute of limitations runs out in late December. If I don’t file a lawsuit by then, they will escape justice for their lies.
There have been many parts of the January 6th ordeal that were absolutely horrific – from losing 3 years of my youth, my house being raided by the FBI, and enduring torture and starvation.
Then, there was the resulting stress this put on my parents: their youngest son faced over 100 years in prison for pushing a fence at a political protest.
It was also brutal coming to terms with losing my law school scholarship and my career as an aspiring attorney as I wrongfully sat in jail.

But what keeps me up at night and enrages the most is the damage to my reputation by the mainstream media.
In my original indictment by the Department of Justice, I wasn’t charged with assault – because pushing a bicycle rack that doesn’t touch anyone has never been considered assault in any jurisdiction.
Yet, prosecutors soon realized federal judges would give them guilty verdicts on whatever they asked for with January 6th cases. So months later, the government charged me with a superseding indictment for the assault on Capitol Police Officer Caroline Edwards.
Meanwhile, I was at least 20 feet and more than two full bike racks away from Edwards when a crowd of hundreds began pushing the barrier.
Not only was Edwards far away from where I stood, she’s not even visible on frame in camera footage taken from dozens of yards back.
Edwards testified under oath at my trial that she had no memory of me and had never seen me before.
Thankfully, U.S. District Federal Judge Jia Cobb fully exonerated me of assaulting Officer Caroline Edwards. I was found not guilty on 5 of 9 trumped-up charges in total.
But what’s the point of being acquitted at trial if the media can blatantly lie and say you’re guilty anyway?
CBS published an article that does just that.
In the state of North Carolina where I reside, a defendant only needs to prove negligence for a successful defamation lawsuit. We have way more than that here.
First, CBS’s headline itself, “Cary man sentenced to 3 years in prison for January 6 Capitol breach, DOJ says,” is false.
The outlet reports that I am from Cary, but I have never lived in Cary in my life.
CBS then egregiously reports that I “was found guilty of assaulting an officer with a deadly or dangerous weapon, assaulting an officer with a deadly or dangerous weapon and inflicting bodily injury” – a charge I was explicitly acquitted of at trial.
At trial, the government admitted the fence I pushed did not touch anyone.
Yet CBS willfully and wrongfully reports to the world that I was convicted of injuring a female officer. The not-guilty verdict was given on February 2nd – which means the correct information had been out for 7 full months.
CBS ignored readily available public information that was published on the DOJ website for over 7 months by the time the CBS bogus article was published.
As if that wasn’t enough, CBS chose the most misleading picture to use in its report.

The CBS reporter also used a deceptive picture of me in which I was trying to pull my co-defendant back from attacking a Capitol Police Officer.
As you can see from this angle, I never touched the officer — I was trying to assist him.
Footage from the incident shows illegal police brutality as Capitol Police Officer Loman sucker punches me while I was doing my best to assist the officer – struggling to pull back another demonstrator from launching an attack on the cop.
Shockingly, this video is never shown during any footage of the initial breach.
Officer Loman never showed up to court to testify about assault in which he landed a brutal blow to my face that could have blinded me and nearly fractured my cheekbone. I don’t even know Loman’s first name and he has no online footprint or identifying photographs on the web.

I stood feet away from a protester who was shot in the face by police that day, one of several who were shot in the neck and face after police began indiscriminately shooting and bombing the crowd. Others were killed.
I’m grateful that I survived all of this and I thank God that I am still here.
As an aspiring attorney on a law school scholarship, the damage to my reputation and career from these lies is irreparable.
Not only have I and other J6ers been deemed “white supremacists,” “insurrectionists,” and “terrorists” by sitting President Joe Biden, but now national media outlets deliberately ignore the results of a federal trial to damage my reputation.
The media’s ill intent is further proven when we consider that I was acquitted of most charges at trial – but not one mainstream news outlet bothered to note this. The only news outlet to mention this fact is The Gateway Pundit and court reporter Alicia Powe.
The mainstream media completely ignore reporting the verdict because it doesn’t fit their narrative.
I’m sure if I was found guilty on all counts, they would have included that at the top of every article.

The same “journalists” who smeared my name don’t even bother to correct it when proven wrong. Or worse, they openly lie like CBS did.

The statute of limitations is quickly running out for this lawsuit – as I spent years in jail waiting for a trial. I have until the end of December, or they will be off the hook completely.
This case has serious promise. I am in talks with a law firm and have a meeting scheduled on December 3rd, but I don’t have the funds to retain them.
