Another day, another Democrat calling for violence against the Trump Administration.

As WUSA reported, a rally was rally held Monday outside the Social Security Administration Headquarters to protest the actions of DOGE and President Trump’s efforts to downsize government. The concerns primarily centered around supposed cuts to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid by DOGE.

The rally was organized by Democrat Maryland Senators Chris Van Hollen and Angela Alsobrooks along with Representatives Kweisi Mfume, Johnny Olszewski and Sarah Elfreth organized this rally, which started 12:30 p.m. in Woodlawn, Maryland. This is a city just outside Baltimore.

During the rally, Mfume called for his followers to take to the streets to apparently physically fight members of the Trump Administration.

The footage was captured by Trump’s rapid response team.

“This will be a congressional fight, a constitutional fight, a legal fight,” Mfume said. “And on days like this: a street fight!”

Mfume also described DOGE, which stands for Department of Government Efficiency, as the Department of Government Evil.

This is not the first time Democrats have threatened violence against Trump and Musk. The Gateway Pundit previously reported Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Rep. Monica McIver (D-NJ) also threw tantrums that day over Musk and the Trump Administration at the rally.

McIver then made this comment regarding Musk:

“We will not take this!” she yelled. “We will fight back! And godd**n it shut down the Senate! We are at war!”

President Trump on Monday signed an executive order that encourages the government and businesses to purchase plastic drinking straws instead of the highly inconvenient paper straws that radical environmentalists demand we suffer with. 

“We’re going back to plastic straws,” the President declared.

President Trump has long been a fan of plastic straws over their soggy counterparts. In 2019, the Trump reelection campaign triggered liberals across the world by selling plastic Trump drinking straws, The Gateway Pundit reported.

It’s unclear why they are so opposed to plastic straws a recent study discovered that paper straws may contain “forever chemicals,” harmful to both humans and the environment.

“This is an executive order relating to the use of paper straws. As you’ve consistently identified, nobody really likes paper straws,” the President’s staff secretary, Will Scharf, said while presenting the order.

“Number one trending! Can you believe it? The paper straws. It was number one trending for three days or something,” the President interrupted.

Sharf resumed, “The environmental impact of plastic straws versus paper straws is entirely unclear. This has cost both the government and private industry an absolute ton of money and left consumers all over the country wildly dissatisfied with their straws. So, we’re asking aspects of the federal government, federal departments, and agencies to look at their existing procurement processes. And we’re asking your domestic policy council to look holistically at this issue to address it, and it really is something that affects ordinary Americans in their everyday lives.”

Before signing the order, President Trump said, “We’re going back to plastic straws. These things don’t work. I’ve had them many times, and on occasion, they break, they explode. If something’s hot, they don’t last very long, like a matter of minutes, sometimes a matter of seconds. It’s a ridiculous situation.”

“So we’re going back to plastic straws. I think it’s okay,” he continued.

After putting his signature on the order, the President added, “I don’t think that plastic is going to affect a shark very much as they’re eating, as they’re munching their way through the ocean.”

A shooting at high-crime Washington, DC’s Amtrak station, Union Station, left one victim who was discovered unconscious and not breathing. 

The victim was reportedly pronounced dead just before 7 pm ET Monday. No arrests have been made as the shooter fled the scene.

The station is located less than a mile from the U.S. Capitol and about two miles away from the White House.

The DC police department confirmed shortly after 5 pm ET that the shooting investigation is ongoing, and there is no active threat at the station.

According to Fox 5 DC reporter Allison Papson, Amtrak said in a statement, “Amtrak is working with MPD to investigate a shooting near the escalators leading to the USPG-owned parage garage, located in the upper level at Washington Union Station. There are no reported injuries to customers or employees. The safety of all people who use Washington Union Station, including Amtrak customers and employees, is a top priority. MPD is investigating the incident.”

Per Fox 5 DC:

A man was shot inside Union Station on Monday afternoon, prompting a large police response and road closures in the area as authorities investigated the incident.

Law enforcement officials, along with emergency crews, remain on the scene assisting with the investigation. Authorities have urged the public to avoid the area while they respond to the potential security threat.

As a precaution, Columbus Circle between Louisiana Avenue and First Street NE is shut down, and low-flying helicopters can be seen overhead.

What we don’t know: Officials have not yet released details about a suspect or any potential arrests. The motive for the shooting has not been disclosed.

Scott Jennings, CNN’s token conservative, said he was in the train station during the shooting. “They ran right past me,” he said:

The Trump administration announced on Monday an expansion of tariffs, raising levies on aluminum imports from 10 percent to 25 percent while maintaining the 25 percent tariff on steel. The move also reintroduces tariffs on certain allies that had previously negotiated exemptions or quota-based agreements, with no exceptions outlined in the new policy.

The decision is intended to bolster domestic metal industries in accordance with the administration’s commitment to supporting American manufacturers. The original tariffs, introduced in 2018, were justified on national security grounds, with the administration arguing they were necessary to ensure a stable supply of critical materials.

The expansion of tariffs is expected to have broad implications for global trade, including potentially raising tensions with steel-exporting U.S. allies such as Canada, the European Union, and Japan. It will also fall hard on Chinese steel producers, which have long exported their production at below-market prices, a practice known as “dumping.”

A federal judge blocked the Trump Admin’s move to cut billions in funding to the National Institute of Health (NIH).

US District Judge Angel Kelley, a Biden appointee, issued a temporary restraining order to block Trump from slashing funding for universities and other research centers.

Last week, the NIH said it would cut wasteful spending on administrative overhead.

“The United States should have the best medical research in the world,” NIH said in a statement last week. “It is accordingly vital to ensure that as many funds as possible go towards direct scientific research costs rather than administrative overhead.”

ABC News reported:

A federal judge temporarily blocked the Trump administration’s move to drastically lower some of the funding that universities and research institutions receive from medical and scientific grants.

U.S. District Judge Angel Kelley — nominated to the bench by President Joe Biden — issued a temporary restraining order that blocks the National Institute of Health from taking any steps to implement or enforce their rate change notice.

Judge Kelley ordered the NIH to issue a status report within 24 hours – then at bi-weekly intervals – to confirm “the regular disbursement and obligation of federal financial assistance funds.”

A hearing to evaluate next steps has been set for Feb. 21.

Last year the National Institutes of Health finally admitted to funding gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the ground zero for the COVID-19 pandemic.

This admission directly contradicts previous statements made under oath by Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

This confession comes after years of denials from senior health officials, including Tabak and Fauci himself, about their involvement in such controversial experiments.

On Monday, the Trump Justice Department moved to drop federal charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

“You are directed to dismiss” the case against Adams,” Emil Bove, Trump’s Acting Deputy Attorney General wrote in a letter to the US Attorney’s Office in Manhattan, according to The New York Times.

Adams was recently indicted on charges including wire fraud, bribery and conspiracy out of the Southern District of New York, becoming the first sitting New York City mayor to face criminal prosecution.

Charges include conspiracy theory, wire fraud, bribery and solicitation of a contribution by a foreign national. Read the indictment.

According to federal prosecutors Adams accepted $10 million in illegal “straw” campaign contributions and bribes from foreign countries, including Turkey, Israel, China, Qatar, South Korea, and Uzbekistan going back nearly a decade.

“For nearly a decade, Adams sought and accepted improper valuable benefits, such as luxury international travel, including from wealthy foreign businesspeople and at least one Turkish government official seeking to gain influence over him,” the indictment reads.

“As Adams’s prominence and power grew, his foreign-national benefactors sought to cash in on their corrupt relationships with him, particularly when, in 2021, it became clear that Adams would become New York City’s mayor,” the filing said, according to The New York Post.

“Adams agreed, providing favorable treatment in exchange for the illicit benefits he received.”

On Monday night, President Trump’s pick for Director of National Intelligence (DNI), former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, passed through a key Senate vote for her confirmation. 

The full Senate voted 52-46 to invoke cloture and advance Gabbard’s confirmation as DNI to a final Senate vote.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Gabbard passed in a Senate Intel Committee vote last week.

This came after two potential GOP holdouts who could have derailed Gabbard’s nomination, Todd Young (R-IN) and Susan Collins (R-ME), announced in the 11th hour that they’d support Gabbard.

Vice President JD Vance, the tie-breaking vote in the case of an unlikely 50-50 vote, is currently traveling abroad to attend the AI Summit in Paris, France, and the Munich Security Conference in Germany.

Last Thursday, CNN’s “Erin Burnett OutFront” dedicated an entire segment to what they deemed a critical issue: Edward Coristine’s online nickname.

While government waste and inefficiency run rampant, CNN and Wired chose to zoom in on Coristine’s adolescent alias rather than more substantive matters affecting Americans.

“This is a 19-year-old high school graduate who has used the unfortunate nickname, uh, ‘Big Balls’ online,” Drummond revealed.

“He is now working at Musk’s behest inside DOGE and we looked into his background, and so we found, you know, several notable things, Erin.

“One of which is that this individual has founded multiple companies, including one with another unfortunate name, uh, “Tesla Dot Sexy LLC,” which he established in 2021. He would have been around 16 years old,” she added.

Now, the Washington Post has further escalated the hysteria by reporting that Coristine has been appointed as a senior adviser at the State Department’s Bureau of Diplomatic Technology.

The news outlet reported:

A 19-year-old acolyte of Elon Musk known online as “Big Balls” is listed as having taken on a new role at the State Department, raising concerns among some diplomats about his potential access to sensitive information and the growing reach of his tech billionaire boss into America’s diplomatic apparatus, said U.S. officials familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive issue.

Edward Coristine, who briefly worked for Musk’s brain-chip start-up Neuralink, is posted as a senior adviser to the State Department’s Bureau of Diplomatic Technology, a critical hub for data — both sensitive and nonsensitive, officials said. Coristine, who also holds positions at the U.S. DOGE Service and the Office of Personnel Management, has attracted significant attention across Washington for his edgy online persona and the relative lack of experience he brings to his new federal roles.

But his new position could give him visibility into far more than just tech.

Some U.S. officials expressed alarm about Coristine’s new perch at the bureau, which serves as the IT department for Washington’s diplomatic apparatus. All of the department’s IT and data management functions were centralized at the bureau during an overhaul before President Donald Trump returned to office, making it a treasure trove of information.

“This is dangerous,” said one of the U.S. officials, noting Coristine’s youth and a report by Bloomberg that he was fired for leaking a data security firm’s information to a competitor.

His colleague, Luke Farritor, a former SpaceX intern, is also now listed in the State Department’s directory, alongside Coristine. The Washington Post notes that these young engineers, all under 25, have rapidly accumulated power within the DOGE framework, worrying the bureaucrats.
