White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt delivers press briefing on April 8, 2025
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is set to deliver a press briefing at 1 pm today as President Trump receives his annual physical at Walter Reed Hospital.
The President announced his visit to Walter Reed earlier this week, adding that he’s “never felt better.”
I am pleased to report that my long scheduled Annual Physical Examination will be done at Walter Reed Army Medical Center on Friday of this week. I have never felt better, but nevertheless, these things must be done!
Earlier this week, Leavitt addressed the political and economic fallout from Trump’s tariffs.
Since then, Trump has announced a 90-day reduction on tariffs against more than 75 countries but slapped China with 145% tariffs due to their refusal to come to the table and make a deal and their “lack of respect for the World’s Markets.”
Leavitt is expected to be questioned on Trump’s tariff negotiations and lack thereof with China, new inflation data, and potential peace talks with Russia and Ukraine as Special Envoy Steve Witkoff meets with Putin.

Far-left host Bill Maher announced his lineup for Friday, April 11th’s show, which will feature conservative firebrand and War Room host Steve Bannon.
Maher is fresh off meeting with President Trump at the White House; although Maher has not spoken much about it, Kid Rock, who arranged the meeting, said it went great.
On Chris Cuomo’s podcast, Maher praised Trump for being authentic and noted that voters can tell if a person is a phony.

The despicable pro-abortion extremist who attacked a pro-life reporter in Harlem will now be facing the music.
As The New York Post reported, the NYPD arrested 30-year-old Brianna J Rivers on Thursday for sucker-punching Savannah Craven Antao during a street interview regarding the subject of abortion last week.
Rivers has been charged with one count of second-degree assault for her actions, which some might view as a slap on the wrist. She is set to be arraigned next Thursday afternoon according to the Post.
Craven Antao celebrated news of her attacker’s apprehension on social media.
“Just got word from detectives Brianna J Rivers was arrested! God is good!” she wrote in an Instagram post.
The Post also reveals Rivers has launched a GoFundMe page, begging for money to hire a defense attorney.
The Gateway Pundit previously reported pro-life activist Craven Antao was viciously attacked in broad daylight by an unhinged pro-abortion radical simply for speaking out in defense of the unborn.
Savannah was on the streets of Harlem conducting peaceful interviews with New Yorkers for a video project titled “What Does Planned Parenthood Do? Perception vs. Reality?” when the attack occurred.
According to Savannah and her husband, Henry Antao, Rivers initially engaged in polite conversation—even offering compliments. But the moment she realized Savannah was pro-life, her tone shifted dramatically. Then she snapped.
Without warning, Rivers began to violently punch Savannah in the face—twice—before attempting to attack her again. Thankfully, Henry Antao intervened and placed himself between his wife and the assailant before calling 911. Rivers then left the scene, yelling, “S**k my d**k” at Savannah’s husband.
Savannah was rushed to the hospital, where she received stitches for her injuries.
Rivers offered a non-apology for her cruel actions in a Facebook post following the attack, blaming Craven for the attack and portraying herself as the victim.
“To Savannah, I sincerely apologize but cannot sit around and allow you to continue pushing this one-sided narrative. I understand hands being put on someone is never the answer, but throwing rocks and hiding hands is worse,” she wrote.
“She knows the truth and needs to release the footage in its entirety,” Rivers added. “Savannah is a professional antagonist, not a ‘reporter,’ and the truth will be told.”

Under Joe Biden, approximately 8,000 service members were discharged from the military for refusing to take the COVID-19 vaccine.
In January 2025, President Trump ordered a full reinstatement to any service member who was expelled from the armed forces due to the COVID vaccine mandate, restoring them to their former rank with full pay.
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth joined Fox News to discuss efforts to welcome back these service members who were discarded and treated so badly by the Biden administration.
Hegseth stated, “We’re psyched. This is one of the made promises kept from President Trump. We have followed through at the Defense Department. If you are a person of conscience, a person of faith who believe that you shouldn’t have to take an experimental vaccine in order to serve in our military, we will apologize to you.”
“We will recognize the wrong that’s been done.”
“We will welcome you back with rank and back pay, and we want your service.”
“We started it as quickly as possible. As you can imagine, sometimes these things take a little bit of time to work out. All the letters are out to the folks who were pushed out, and we welcome them back as quickly and robustly as possible.”
“These are some of our best and brightest. We were kicking out folks with 17 years in, 18 years in, 19 years in, saying, ‘Sorry, you won’t take the jab. You can’t serve.’ That was an outrage.”
“President Trump got elected and immediately mandated us. We’re welcoming, in fact, here at the Office of Secretary of Defense, I hope to get to meet soon a number of these troops that have lifted that. It’s changed the whole environment.”
“You can hold your religious beliefs and that view and serve as well. That pertains to these COVID vaccines, and we welcome them.”

One day after the diplomatic meetings in Istanbul and the prisoner swap in Abu Dhabi (UAE), U.S. President Donald J. Trump’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff flew today (11) to Saint Petersburg, Russia – and it is expected that he will hold talks with President Vladimir Putin.
There’s no denying: despite the nay-sayers in the liberal establishment, in Europe, and in the media, the peace talks are picking up in pace.
Reuters reported:
“The Kremlin confirmed Witkoff’s arrival, and the Izvestia news outlet released video of Witkoff leaving a hotel in Russia’s second city St Petersburg, accompanied by Kirill Dmitriev, Putin’s investment envoy.”

“Kirill Dmitriyev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), has met with US Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff at the Grand Hotel Europe in downtown St. Petersburg, a TASS correspondent reported.
[…] The flight carrying Trump’s envoy landed in St. Petersburg at around 10:00 a.m. Moscow time (7:00 a.m. GMT), flight tracking data from Flightradar showed. Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Witkoff had arrived in Russia and said that the Kremlin would provide information in due course should Russian President Vladimir Putin receive Witkoff.”
A Trump-Putin meeting ‘may be’ on the agenda.
The Kremlin has confirmed that Putin will hold a meeting with Witkoff – and that a summit between the Russian leader and President Trump ‘may be’ discussed.
Sputnik reported:
“Putin-Trump meeting may be on the agenda, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.
Putin’s meeting with Witkoff is an opportunity for Russia to convey its concerns to Trump, Peskov added.”
This will be the third meeting of Witkoff with Putin, as he emerges as a key figure in the ongoing détente between Washington and Moscow.
There has even been overtures from the Russians about joint investments in the Arctic and in Russian rare earth minerals, while a peace deal in Ukraine remains elusive for now.

Musk’s critics want him gone tomorrow and are thrilled that, as a Special Government Employee, his tenure is legally capped at 130 days in a 365-day period. But President Trump has several options if he wants to keep Musk on past the expiration date.
Elon Musk’s role as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is formally designated as that of a Special Government Employee (SGE), a status that limits his service to 130 days within any 365-day period. His tenure is expected to end around late May 2025, when that cap is reached.
While the White House has expressed interest in keeping Musk involved, any extension would require either legal adjustments or a change in his employment classification.
Under current law, he cannot be rehired as an SGE until enough time has passed to reduce his total days of service below the threshold. However, Trump could bring him back in another role—such as a full-time federal employee or unpaid presidential adviser—provided he complies with applicable ethics and conflict-of-interest rules.
Of all the options available to Trump, reclassifying Musk as a presidential adviser—especially in an unpaid or informal capacity—would offer the least legal resistance. These advisory roles can be created ad hoc, require no Senate confirmation, and are not bound by the 130-day limit. As long as the adviser does not draw a salary or directly control federal contracts, legal scrutiny is lighter.
However, even unpaid advisers are not entirely exempt from oversight. If they influence policy in ways that benefit their private business interests, especially without divesting or recusing, they may still face ethics investigations, media backlash, or congressional review. Musk’s position as CEO of SpaceX—a company with significant federal contracts—raises clear concerns in this regard. While SGEs and unpaid advisers enjoy more flexibility than full-time federal employees, any decisions Musk makes that could impact SpaceX would remain subject to ethical review.
Reflecting those concerns, several bills currently under review in Congress aim to block or limit Musk’s continued government involvement.
Representative Mark Pocan introduced the “ELON MUSK Act,” which would prohibit federal agencies from awarding contracts to companies where an SGE holds a significant ownership stake. Representatives Dan Goldman and John Larson introduced the “Ending DOGE Conflicts Act,” requiring SGEs to file public financial disclosures and undergo ethics reviews before entering service.
Representative Maxine Dexter’s “Stop Musk Act” would bar federal contracts or grants to any company in which an SGE holds more than a 5% stake. Collectively, these proposals appear less focused on DOGE’s mission and more on legislating Musk out of office by targeting his eligibility to serve.
As of April 11, 2025, the U.S. national debt stands at approximately $36.56 trillion—a staggering figure that poses a serious and imminent threat to the nation’s fiscal stability. Interest payments are consuming an increasingly unsustainable share of the federal budget, pushing the country toward a financial precipice. Confronting this crisis is no longer a matter of political preference—it is an economic imperative. That is why initiatives like the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) are so critically important.
Under Elon Musk’s leadership, DOGE has uncovered fraudulent contracts, identified billions in redundant federal programs, and curtailed waste across multiple agencies—eliminating millions in unused office leases and terminating overlapping software subscriptions that had long evaded oversight. These are measurable, documented achievements. Yet the mainstream media continues to portray DOGE as ineffective or unserious, disregarding its accomplishments and reducing it to a political punchline.
Whether one approves of President Trump and Elon Musk or not, they are addressing a national crisis that previous administrations have repeatedly failed to confront. If this effort is to continue, maintaining Musk’s involvement in some capacity—whether formal or informal—may be essential.
The media may persist in dismissing the initiative, but to date, no alternative plan has been proposed with comparable ambition or effectiveness. Reducing waste and tackling the debt is no longer merely bold policy—it is a national necessity.

Alina Habba has opened a criminal investigation into New Jersey Governor Chris Murphy.
Habba, who worked as Trump’s personal lawyer before recently being appointed U.S. Attorney for the state of New Jersey, announced during an appearance on Hannity on Thursday evening that Murphy was actively obstructing efforts by law enforcement to deport illegal aliens.
Her warning came after Murphy and New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin instructed state troopers to ignore thousands of arrest warrants listed on a federal database.
She explained:
We know that the governor has on his website currently do’s and don’ts for his local state of law enforcement.
Those do’s and don’ts instruct them not to cooperate with illegal immigrants who have administrative warrants that have been issued by the court after due process saying that they are no longer welcome here.
They have gone through the court system. They are to be deported. It is instructing them to go against our federal rules, our executive orders.
I am unfortunately going to announce on your show tonight, Sean, and I want it to be a warning for everybody, that I have instructed my office today to open an investigation into Governor Murphy, to open an investigation into Attorney General Platkin, who has also instructed the state police not to assist any of our federal, and they list our federal agencies that are under my direction, the FBI, the DEA, all these individuals that are trying to clean up our streets in New Jersey not to cooperate.
That will no longer stand. Pam Bondi has made it clear and so has our president that we are to take all criminal, violent criminals and criminals out of this country and to completely enforce federal law, and anybody who does get in that way, in the way of what we are doing, which is not political, it is simply against crime, will be charged in the state of New Jersey for obstruction, for concealment, and I will come after them hard.
Those investigations will start immediately.

New Jersey is one of many Democratic-controlled states that is actively resisting the Trump administration’s efforts to deport the tens of millions of illegal aliens currently residing across the United States.
Just today, President Trump threatened to withhold federal funds from so-called “sanctuary cities” that are protecting illegal immigrants from their lawful deportation.
“No more Sanctuary Cities! They protect the Criminals, not the Victims. They are disgracing our Country, and are being mocked all over the World,” Trump wrote on his social media platform.
“Working on papers to withhold all Federal Funding for any City or State that allows these Death Traps to exist!!!”
