The European Union could be staring down the barrel of a massive economic hit—up to $1.25 trillion—if President Trump follows through on proposed tariffs, according to a new report by Germany’s top economic think tank.

The study, released by the German Economic Institute (IW), sounds the alarm over what could happen if the EU refuses to level the playing field. Trump’s America First trade strategy, which includes a 20% blanket tariff on EU goods and a 25% tariff specifically aimed at car imports, is designed to claw back advantages handed to Brussels in past one-sided deals.

If the tariffs go into effect and no agreement is reached, the EU economy could bleed between €780 billion and €1.1 trillion from 2025 to 2028. The blow would have catastrophic consequences for the Old Continent.

Germany—Europe’s economic heavyweight and one of the biggest beneficiaries of the current trade imbalance—would take the biggest blow, with GDP potentially dropping by up to 1.6% annually.

That’s not just theoretical. The report projects Germany could lose a staggering €180 billion (around $205 billion) in output by 2028. Export-heavy industries like auto manufacturing and pharmaceuticals would suffer the most—industries that have profited for decades off access to the American market.

In 2024 alone, trade between Germany and the United States hit €253 billion ($287.5 billion), making the US Berlin’s top trading partner. But the good times may be over, as President Trump looks to secure better terms for American workers and industries.

While Trump has paused the tariffs for 90 days to allow time for negotiations, talks with EU officials have gone nowhere fast. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen offered a “zero-for-zero” industrial tariff deal, but Trump wasn’t buying it, rightly demanding the EU commit to $350 billion in US energy purchases before backing off.

So far, Brussels isn’t budging. But with the clock ticking, the EU might soon have to decide: protect its outdated globalist trade model, or face an economic storm of its own making.

Meanwhile, there may be a glimmer of hope for cooler heads to prevail. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, widely seen as a rising star among Europe’s nationalist leaders, met with President Trump in Washington today, launching what some are calling a diplomatic charm offensive.

Over lunch at the White House, Meloni—arguably the only European leader besides Hungary’s Viktor Orbán with a friendly personal rapport with Trump—voiced optimism about striking a deal, telling reporters, “I’m here to help with that.” Trump echoed her confidence, saying he believed a deal was “100 percent” possible, as long as it’s fair.

Meloni criticized the initial tariffs but stressed unity and reaffirmed America’s role as a “reliable partner.” As the first European leader to meet with Trump amid the trade dispute, her visit could signal a shift in tone—and possibly a path forward—if Brussels is willing to come to the table.

Santa Fe authorities released the full police bodycam of the Gene Hackman investigation.

In late February, actor Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, were found dead along with the family dog.

At first TMZ reported that carbon monoxide poisoning was to blame for the deaths, however, they tested negative.

The Daily Mail later reported that Hackman and his wife were found ‘mummified’ in their Santa Fe, New Mexico, compound.

Authorities were unable to immediately identify the bodies because they were poorly decomposed.

The Daily Mail reported that prescription pills were scattered on the bathroom counter near Arakawa’s body.

Groundskeepers said they hadn’t seen the couple in two weeks.

Santa Fe Sheriff Adam Mendoza revealed Hackman’s pacemaker recorded its last activity on February 17, which authorities now suspect was the day Hackman died.

Last month a representative from the Santa Fe medical examiner’s office revealed Gene Hackman’s cause of death was hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiac disease.

Arakawa’s cause of death was hantavirus pulmonary syndrome.

Police bodycam footage from inside Gene Hackman’s home showed one of the dogs protecting his deceased wife’s body.

Santa Fe authorities discovered Betsy Arakawa’s body first in one of the bathrooms. Gene Hackman was later discovered in the kitchen.

The student who created an ‘art’ work inciting the assassination of President Donald Trump that was displayed in a window of a campus building at Kent State University in Ohio has “agreed to remove the display” according to a university spokesman in a statement emailed to TGP.

Kent State had previously said the Trump assassination ‘art’ would remain up.

Kent State initially stood by the display. Frantz posted an image of an email from the university stating the art display was part of a student’s “art thesis” and was protected by the Constitution and Ohio law, and would not be taken down:

Thursday afternoon, Eric Mansfield, Assistant Vice President, Content Strategy and Communications at Kent State, emailed a response to a query by TGP, stating the student had agreed to take down the ‘art’:

The Kent State student whose art class exhibition included depictions of violence toward elected officials has agreed to remove the display.

The university supports the student’s decision and the work of the faculty to bring about a resolution to this matter.

Curiously, the statement appears to say the student’s art work targeted several elected officials with violent imagery.

Frantz posted a message Thursday afternoon from Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) that the ‘art’ would be taken down by 5 p.m.

The Secret Service told TGP the agency was aware of the assassination inciting art but would not comment on whether it was investigating. Frantz earlier reported that Portage County Sheriff Bruce Zuchowski was also aware.

The US Supreme Court agreed to hear oral arguments in response to President Trump’s emergency request to stop nationwide injunction against his birthright citizenship executive order.

President Trump asked the Supreme Court to stay the nationwide injunctions issued by the federal judges.

The high court agreed to an expedited schedule and set arguments for May 15.

ABC News reported:

The Supreme Court on Thursday said it would hear expedited oral arguments next month over President Donald Trump’s emergency request to rollback nationwide injunctions against his executive order to end birthright citizenship.

The nation’s highest court set arguments for May 15 at 10 a.m.

The move by the justices sets the stage for a decision by this summer on three separate district court injunctions that had blocked the administration from moving forward with its plan to create a new standard for establishing citizenship to children born on U.S. soil to parents who do not have permanent legal status.

Trump had asked the Supreme Court to allow the administration to, at the very least, begin planning for the change. He also took aim at the universal lower court mandates that he argued exceeded their authority.

Last month President Trump asked the US Supreme Court to intervene in the birthright citizenship fight.

Four federal judges have blocked President Trump’s birthright citizenship executive order.

According to President Trump’s order, the 14th Amendment is being misinterpreted by the left to give citizenship to ‘anchor babies.’

“It is the policy of the United States that no department or agency of the United States government shall issue documents recognizing United States citizenship, or accept documents issued by State, local, or other governments or authorities purporting to recognize United States citizenship, to persons: (1) when that person’s mother was unlawfully present in the United States and the person’s father was not a United States citizen or lawful permanent resident at the time of said person’s birth, or (2) when that person’s mother’s presence in the United States was lawful but temporary, and the person’s father was not a United States citizen or lawful permanent resident at the time of said person’s birth,” Trump’s order stated.

Trump’s order argued the 14th Amendment has always excluded babies born to people in the US illegally.

“[The] Fourteenth Amendment has never been interpreted to extend citizenship universally to everyone born within the United States. The Fourteenth Amendment has always excluded from birthright citizenship persons who were born in the United States but not “subject to the jurisdiction thereof.” Consistent with this understanding, the Congress has further specified through legislation that “a person born in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof” is a national and citizen of the United States at birth, 8 U.S.C. 1401, generally mirroring the Fourteenth Amendment’s text,” the order stated.

The Appeals Court last month said it couldn’t end birthright citizenship so President Trump took the fight to the US Supreme Court.

O’Keefe Media Group, Jonathan Ferrer HR at Summit Public Schools in California

The O’Keefe Media Group released undercover video of Jonathan Ferrer, the HR Director for Summit Public Schools, a charter network operating in California and Washington, admitting to race-based hiring.

Ferrer admitted to violating Title VII, California FEHA (prohibits discrimination) and school policy.

“You get presented with, on equal merits, like a white person or a black person or whatever. Yeah, we’re going with the black person,” Ferrer told the undercover OMG reporter.

“Whenever there’s a qualified candidate and they happen to identify differently or present differently, we’re probably going with that person… That’s what DEI is all about,” Ferrer told the undercover journalist.

“We have one trans teacher in our district, and, so, I think it’s just culturally, we just naturally look for those folks,” he said.

When asked if Summit Public Schools would ever hire a Trump supporter, Ferrer said, “I don’t think we would hire them.”

“We do have DEI questions built into our selection process,” Ferrer said. “We have a rubric… if they say any of these things, this is not someone who’s answering the question the way we’re aligned to answer the question.”

Luigi Mangione—the radical left-wing activist turned alleged assassin—has been indicted by a federal grand jury on four federal charges, including crimes that make him eligible for the death penalty.

The indictment comes just weeks after Mangione’s name exploded across the headlines following the cold-blooded murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, a husband and father of three.

Prosecutors allege that Mangione meticulously planned the ambush as a political statement against what he described as the “corporate medical regime.”

Despite leftist commentators and even some media figures bizarrely romanticizing Mangione as a “revolutionary,” the federal government isn’t playing games. The charges include:

Interstate stalking resulting in death
Use of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death
Conspiracy to commit murder
Murder of a federal witness

According to ABC News, these charges make him eligible for the death penalty if convicted.

Attorney General Pam Bondi described the act as a “cold-blooded assassination” and emphasized the administration’s commitment to restoring the federal death penalty as a deterrent against heinous crimes.

“Luigi Mangione’s murder of Brian Thompson — an innocent man and father of two young children — was a premeditated, cold-blooded assassination that shocked America. After careful consideration, I have directed federal prosecutors to seek the death penalty in this case as we carry out President Trump’s agenda to stop violent crime and Make America Safe Again,” Pam Bondi said.

Mangione, an Ivy League graduate from a prominent Maryland family, shot Thompson in the back outside a Manhattan hotel during UnitedHealthcare’s annual investor conference last December.

Evidence includes surveillance footage of the masked shooter and bullets inscribed with “delay,” “deny,” and “depose,” phrases associated with insurance claim denials.

The shooter who killed two innocent souls and injured six others at Florida State University has been identified, and the details are disturbing.

As NBC News reported, Leon County Sheriff Walt McNeil revealed that the person in custody for the horrible crime is Phoenix Ikner, the 20-year-old son of a female sheriff’s deputy in Leon County. Ikner is also an FSU student.

Sheriff McNeil noted Ikner had access to one of his mother’s weapons, and it was found at the scene. He vowed to investigate how the weapon was used and what other weapons Ikner may have had access to.

McNeil went on to call the event “tragic” but assured the country the suspect would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

“This event is tragic in more ways than you people in the audience could ever fathom from a law enforcement perspective,” McNeil said. “But I will tell you this, we will make sure that we do everything we can to prosecute and make sure that we send a message to folks that this will never be tolerated here in Leon County, and I dare say, across this state and across this nation.”

As The Gateway Pundit’s Jordan Conradson reported, five people were injured and two were killed after a mass shooting at Florida State University.

Police responded to an active shooter situation at Florida State University’s Tallahassee campus on Thursday shortly after noon ET.

Early reporting on the situation showed police running into the campus in tactical gear with weapons drawn at the intersection of Tennessee Street and Woodward Avenue.

Another video shows officers apprehending somebody who is believed to be the shooter being hauled away by law enforcement.

As global tensions climb and Europe’s leadership continues to drift away from the interests of its people, Russia is sounding the alarm over Germany’s latest flirtation with war.

The Kremlin issued a clear warning on Thursday: if Berlin green-lights the transfer of Taurus long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine, it will mark Germany’s full-blown entry into the conflict, bringing with it severe consequences, Deutsche Presse-Agentur reported.

Maria Zakharova, the outspoken spokeswoman for Russia’s Foreign Ministry, pulled no punches, per usual. Speaking at a press conference Thursday, she stated bluntly that if Taurus missiles—capable of hitting targets 300 miles away—are used on Russian infrastructure, like the Crimean bridge, it will be considered a direct act of war by Germany against Russia.

“This will be considered direct participation by Germany in hostilities on the side of the Kyiv regime, with all the consequences that this entails for Germany,” Zakharova warned, making it clear that Moscow won’t turn the other cheek.

The timing is no accident. Germany is on the verge of a political shift as right-liberal globalist CDU politician Friedrich Merz prepares to take over as chancellor on May 6. A former BlackRock executive and longtime darling of Brussels and Berlin’s globalist establishment, Merz has made no secret of his willingness to escalate the war in Ukraine.

He recently floated the idea of handing over Taurus missiles—some of the most advanced in Europe’s arsenal—and even endorsed the destruction of the Crimean Bridge, a critical Russian supply line.

Merz’s position sharply contrasts with that of outgoing Chancellor Olaf Scholz, a left-liberal globalist who, to his credit, consistently and despite intense pressure at times, refused to send Taurus missiles to Ukraine, warning it could pull Germany into a war the German people neither voted for nor want.

Even members of Scholz’s own Social Democratic Party believe Merz may walk back his reckless stance once he’s briefed on the full consequences. Matthias Miersch, the party’s General Secretary, hinted that the reality behind closed doors could temper Merz’s saber-rattling.

But the Kremlin isn’t taking chances. Russian media have already published leaked conversations between top German military officers discussing how the missiles might be used against Russian targets. The message from Moscow is crystal clear: Germany’s deepening involvement won’t go unanswered.

What we’re seeing here isn’t just another foreign policy blunder by European elites; it’s a glaring example of the same globalist arrogance that nearly started World War III under the Biden regime.

While American and European families are grappling with inflation, and a continuous flood of illegal immigrants from alien cultures making their neighborhoods unsafe, European warmongers like Merz are cozying up to the military-industrial complex and playing nuclear chicken with a major world power.

Even the Kremlin recognizes what many Americans already know: sending more weapons to Ukraine won’t end the war—it’ll expand it. Russia also aimed the latest insane proposal coming out of Paris and London: sending European “peacekeepers” into Ukraine after a ceasefire. Zakharova called the plan delusional, warning that it would only inflame tensions further.

With President Trump advocating for peace and diplomacy, not endless foreign entanglements, the contrast couldn’t be starker.

If Merz wants to play with fire, that’s his call—but President Trump would be wise to make it crystal clear that he won’t support or underwrite such recklessness.

A former US Attorney found a glaring abuse of power in Judge Boasberg’s latest court order in the Alien Enemies Act case.

Former US Attorney Jay Town pointed out that it appears Boasberg just appointed the ACLU as counsel for every single Tren de Aragua member in the United States.

On Wednesday evening lawyers for the ACLU representing Tren de Aragua gang members in the Alien Enemies Act case asked Judge Boasberg in DC to keep his case going by allowing them to file ‘habeas claims’ for gang members deported to El Salvador.

The ACLU asked Boasberg to grant them a TRO that forces the US government to provide 30 days notice for removal of any ‘class member’ AND the ACLU under the Alien Enemies Act.

“This Court continues to have jurisdiction over all class members’ claims that adequate notice is required under the Supreme Court’s ruling, the AEA, and due process—whether those individuals are in immigration custody, in criminal custody, or not detained,” the plaintiffs’ motion for TRO said.

“This Court is the proper venue for habeas petitions from class members detained in CECOT,” the ACLU argued.

On Thursday Judge Boasberg went along with the ACLU’s scheme and ordered the government to file a response to the plaintiffs’ motion for TRO by April 19.

Former Trump-appointed US Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama Jay Town said it appears Boasberg just appointed the ACLU as counsel for EVERY TdA member in the US regardless of whether they are in DC (Boasberg’s district) or not.

The ACLU said “class members” are in at least four different districts throughout the country.

“The “class” he’s referring to is unclear to me, but seems to be every TdA member in the U.S,” Jay Town said.

“If so, this is an arbitrary and capricious abuse of power,” he said.
