Why Let the Houthis Bleed Our Military Stockpiles?

Why Let the Houthis Bleed Our Military Stockpiles?

When DoD insiders are worried, you know something is wrong.

It is one thing for critics of U.S. military interventions abroad to say that a bombing campaign against the Houthis is wasteful and could put national security at risk—it’s another when military officials and their supporters in Congress say so.

Chalk it up to the growing understanding that Washington may be expending too many precious weapons on a small militant group with a history of outlasting its much bigger and more powerful adversaries. Chalk it up, too, to powerful interests inside the national security community that want Washington to refocus its American military assets away from the draining conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East and toward the Indo-Pacific.

According to the New York Times, “Pentagon officials have told allied counterparts, lawmakers and their aides in closed briefings that the U.S. military has had only limited success in destroying the Houthis’ vast arsenal of missiles, drones and launchers.” Moreover, “a senior Defense Department official recently told congressional aides that the Navy and the Indo-Pacific Command were ‘very concerned’ about how fast the military was burning through munitions in Yemen, a congressional official said.”

This comes only days after news that the DoD was deploying six B-2 stealth bombers—30 percent of the U.S. stealth bomber fleet—plus supporting aircraft and a Nimitz-class carrier, the USS Carl Vinson, to join the USS Truman carrier group in the Indian Ocean.

These concerns are not new. The military is burning through its stockpiles, and has been since the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the Biden administration’s insistence that the U.S. give Kiev “whatever it takes” to win the war there.

“Regardless of the merits or demerits of the Biden administration’s policies on the wars in Ukraine and Gaza and the wider Middle East, it has become clear that the United States has been using and giving away its missiles faster than it can produce them,” argued defense analyst Michael Fredenberg late last year. “It is also clear that from the perspective of missile inventories and production, the United States is far from prepared to engage confidently in a sustained direct conflict with a peer competitor like China.”

Since October 2023, when the Houthis began striking Israel-linked merchant ships in the Red Sea and threatening a blockade over what they said was Israel’s collective punishment of Palestinians in Gaza, the U.S. Navy has led “Operation Prosperity Guardian”—more or less by itself—expending more missiles and ammunition in conflict than at any time since the Second World War.

According to Jim Fein at the Heritage Foundation, the U.S.—as of August of 2024, before the most recent anti-Houthi campaign under President Trump—had fired 125 Tomahawk missiles, representing more than three percent of its Tomahawk arsenal, at the Houthis.

Meanwhile, according to his math, the maximum number of standard missiles in the U.S. inventory (the exact amount is classified) is 11,000. As of his report in August, the U.S. had fired 155 standard missiles, constituting about one percent of the maximum U.S. inventory, but probably closer to two percent “due to arsenal age and attrition.” Depending on the variant, standard missiles can cost from $2 million to $12 million per unit to build.

“In a war against China, these munitions are critical,” Fein wrote. “The Houthis are a comparatively small, less advanced, and less lethal threat than China, yet they’ve proven to be a persistent problem for the U.S. and its allies. If it takes hundreds of missiles to blunt Houthi attacks—with limited success—it will take even more to face the threat from China.”

He also points out that “expending munitions against the Houthis would be less damaging if the U.S. was backfilling those munitions in a timely manner. But we’re not.”

In January we got a better picture of all the weapons fired. According to Vice Admiral Brendan McLane, the Navy’s surface fleet had fired nearly 400 individual munitions while battling the Iran-backed Houthis in the Red Sea over the previous 15 months. That includes 120 SM-2 missiles, 80 SM-6 missiles, 160 rounds from destroyers’ and cruisers’ five-inch main guns, and a combined 20 Evolved Sea Sparrow Missiles (ESSM) and SM-3 missiles.

When the Trump administration secured the surprising ceasefire in Gaza in January, the Houthis did what they said they would do and stopped attacking ships. They began again when Israel broke the ceasefire and resumed its bombing and land incursions into the Strip. Washington responded by unleashing more widespread attacks on Houthi targets than the Biden strikes last year. For a month now, the U.S. military has been pummeling Yemen’s port areas and other alleged Houthi targets.

According to the Times story, the long-range weapons used in this Yemen campaign include Tomahawks, plus the AGM-154 Joint Standoff Weapon (which, depending on variant, can cost anywhere from $282,000 to $719,000 per unit) and the AGM-158 Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile ($698,000). They are probably being delivered to their targets by F-18s from the Navy fleet in the Red Sea.

All told, the U.S. may have already spent $3 billion to date, with $1 billion in munitions and operational costs in the recent Trump campaign alone, according to reports.

Mark Cancian, defense budget expert with the Center for Strategic and International Studies, told The American Conservative in an email that “it is true that the campaign in the Middle East against Iran, the Houthis, Hezbollah, and Hamas most affects readiness in the Pacific,” adding that “although equipment support to Ukraine is much greater, those items mostly support a ground war, which is not the greatest need in the Western Pacific. It’s also important to note that all four adversaries drive U.S. operations and weapons expenditures. It’s not just the Houthis.”

The U.S. has given Israel over $17 billion in arms and financing since Hamas attacked Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. Those weapons have been used in Israel’s war in Gaza, as well as in the Lebanon war against Hezbollah and retaliatory attacks and missile interceptions against Iran. This is in addition to the U.S. using its own assets in the Red Sea to intercept Iranian missiles targeting Israel last October.

And the flow of weapons continues. Just a week ago, it was reported in Israeli news that Washington was sending a third THAAD missile defense system, of which the U.S. only owns seven, to Israel.

“This would put almost a third of the U.S. THAAD systems in [Israel],” said Jennifer Kavanagh, Senior Fellow and Director of Military Analysis at Defense Priorities. “This incredible commitment of scarce resources is out of proportion with the limited U.S. interests in the Middle East and the Trump administration’s stated intent to focus on security threats in Asia.”

Dan Grazier, Director of the National Security Reform Program at the Stimson Center, told The American Conservative that he is less concerned about the ability to prepare for war with China (which he calls classic threat inflation) than about the strategic folly—and waste—of fighting a small militant group with what amounts to a trillion-dollar arsenal.

“We spend a fortune building a force for the worst possible case, and then so we have this big, bloated military with all these extremely fancy weapons that cost a fortune and don’t work as well as anybody expected them to … but then inevitably, we end up fighting a much lower level intensity scenario than what we plan for,” he said. “There’s a  financial mismatch where, you know, we’re sending a $2 million missile to defeat a $1,000 drone, that’s ridiculous.”

“We need to build a more balanced conventional force,” he added, “so that when we do face these kinds of situations, we don’t have this giant forced mismatch.”

For others, the depletion in the stockpiles is key. While analysts like Wes Rumbaugh at CSIS think the concern might be exaggerated, that annual procurement is cumulative so even if the budgets for 2025 aren’t adequate the cupboards are hardly bare, others are not as sanguine. The budgets and manufacturing capacity cannot keep up.

“That’s the problem: the weapons we’ve designed are too difficult to build for our industrial base,” Navy Commander (Ret.) Bryan Clark told Task & Purpose. And don’t think today’s tariffs and other trade disruptions won’t affect the timelines, too, given how much the Pentagon relies on materials, from semiconductors to steel, to build out its arsenal.

Writing in POLITICO last week, Joe Gould and Paul McLeary said, “The Pentagon has spent decades building, funding, and nurturing a global web of suppliers and companies that now face tariffs. With no carve-outs for defense, the administration could undo much of that work while delaying American-made weapons production for the country and other buyers.”

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has pledged to help rebuild the industrial base so that our national defense won’t rely critically on foreign supply chains. Until then, however, it might be worth taking down the tempo—whether it be for keeping the powder dry in the Indo-Pacific, or maintaining a more strategic posture overall.

In that regard, what the U.S. military is doing in the Red Sea right now, critics say, is just not smart.

A U.S.-Iran Deal Would Be Good for Israel

A U.S.-Iran Deal Would Be Good for Israel

In this case, American and Israeli interests overlap.

President Donald Trump’s efforts to get a nuclear deal with Iran have met a formidable obstacle: the Israel lobby.

Pro-Israel think tanks, lobbying groups, and analysts are urging Trump to ramp up sanctions on Tehran, make unreasonable demands, and issue more threats of war, rather than secure a landmark accord. They have also sought to delegitimize Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, who met with Iran’s foreign minister on Saturday to lay the groundwork for substantive negotiations. Witkoff, a trusted friend of the president, appears to have succeeded, with more talks scheduled for this weekend.

As the Israel lobby seeks to undermine the Trump administration’s diplomatic efforts, some Iran doves and MAGA conservatives have urged the president to pursue American, not Israeli, interests. This line of argument is compelling, but in the case of Iran negotiations, it overlooks an important consideration: A U.S. agreement with Tehran would serve Israel’s interests too.

Last Saturday, I laid out the basic reasons why in a post on X: “A deal would rein in Iran’s nuclear program, sideline its hardliners, stabilize the region, and avert a war that many Americans would blame on Israel.”

The same reasons also applied back in July 2015, when President Barack Obama struck the original Iran nuclear deal over strong objections from pro-Israel voices in America as well as the Israeli government itself. The lobbying group AIPAC burned tens of millions of dollars on a campaign to block that agreement, and in March 2015, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with astonishing chutzpah, gave an address to Congress opposing the U.S. president’s diplomacy. “That deal will not prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons,” Netanyahu declared.

A few months later, the U.S.—along with China, Russia, and Europe—signed the deal with Iran, and Netanyahu’s warnings soon proved ill-founded. Tehran, in exchange for sanctions relief, dismantled most of its centrifuges, shipped much of its enriched uranium out of the country, and granted inspectors broad access to verify that it wasn’t building the bomb. The Iranian government was still complying with the accord in May 2018, when Trump withdrew from it, and continued to comply for another year in hopes of keeping the deal on life support. In 2019, however, Tehran’s patience wore out, and it resumed enriching uranium beyond the limits set by the defunct agreement.

The nuclear deal, while it lasted, not only lengthened the “breakout time” needed for Tehran to build a nuclear weapon, but had a salutary influence on Iranian politics. Thanks to reduced sanctions and Iran’s improved diplomatic relations, the moderate president Hassan Rouhani won reelection in 2017 despite opposition from hardliners. Rouhani favored not only diplomacy with the U.S.-led West but also civil rights for women and minorities. But when the nuclear deal broke down, the political standing of Rouhani and other reformists diminished, and in 2021 the hardliner Ebrahim Raisi became president.

Evidently, the Iran nuclear agreement had worked, putting Tehran’s nuclear program in a box and nudging the regime in a more liberal direction. Moreover, it had been a good deal for the American people. The accord eased bilateral tensions, neutralized the problem of Iran’s suspected nuclear ambitions, and provided Washington an opportunity to disengage from the Middle East. For these reasons, Pat Buchanan, a co-founder of The American Conservative, hailed the agreement as the “seminal achievement of the Obama administration in foreign policy.”

It was also a good deal for Israel, as progressive pro-Israel groups in America have understood. J Street, for example, urged President Joe Biden to revive the accord, calling it “an historic diplomatic achievement” that had “blocked Iran from obtaining the world’s most dangerous weapons.” From the perspective of organizations like J Street, the Iran nuclear deal had accomplished a key aim of the Israeli government—preventing Iran’s acquisition of a nuclear weapons capability—and had done so without launching a war that could destabilize the region.

Even within Israel, several top officials welcomed the nuclear deal and later opposed U.S. withdrawal. “Without an agreement, Iran will be free to act as it wishes,” wrote Efraim Halevy, former head of Mossad, in July 2015. The same month, Isaac Ben-Israel, then-chair of the Israeli Space Agency, said, “The agreement is not bad at all. It is even good for Israel.” In 2017, Carmi Gillon, former head of Israel’s internal security service, wrote, “Thanks to the agreement, Iran’s nuclear program has been defanged and all its pathways to a bomb blocked.”

These figures were frustrated when the deal collapsed, and many blamed Netanyahu. In 2021 Ben-Israel said, “Netanyahu’s efforts to persuade the Trump administration to quit the nuclear agreement have turned out to be the worst strategic mistake in Israel’s history.”

Other Israeli officials didn’t go that far in criticizing Netanyahu but still questioned the wisdom of flagrantly obstructing U.S. foreign policy. The former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak warned in 2014 that such actions could turn Israel’s superpower patron against it.

One reason that Netanyahu ignored pragmatic warnings from Barak and others may be simple hubris. The longtime Israeli leader has tended to be supremely confident that U.S. support for Israel will continue indefinitely. During a casual meeting with Israeli settlers in 2001, he told a cameraman to stop recording, but for whatever reason, the camera kept rolling and captured Netanyahu’s boast that “America is a thing you can move very easily, move it in the right direction.” Explaining why the world’s only global superpower was so pliable, Netanyahu added, “Eighty percent of the Americans support us. It’s absurd!”

The absurdity didn’t last. A slim majority—53 percent—now hold an unfavorable view of the country, according to Pew Research. That’s an 11-point increase compared to March 2022, and Israel’s popularity among Americans seems destined to decline even further. While Republicans are much more likely than Democrats to favor Israel, half of those ages 18 through 49 do not. These numbers present a worrisome challenge to Israel, which is surrounded by hostile nations and dependent on American military and diplomatic assistance.

Israel would be prudent to try reversing the sharp decline in favorability, but its opposition to U.S.-Iran diplomacy risks accelerating the trend. If Trump makes a war rather than a deal with Iran—and he seems to believe those are the only two options—many Americans will blame Israel for dragging the U.S. into yet another conflict in the Middle East. The Democrats, in that case, could very well become a monolithically anti-Israel party, while the Republican establishment would need to avoid alienating conservative millennials and zoomers who do not share their grandparents’ affection for the Jewish state.

The Israel lobby increasingly responds to declining favorability not with smart public relations, but by pushing the U.S. government to suppress criticism of Israel on university campuses. Many commentators have argued that the crackdowns on free speech are not just unconstitutional, but politically inexpedient. Zaid Jilani, a progressive journalist, wrote on X that “Israelis should understand this will not help their reputations and disavow anti-speech measures.”

Conservatives are also becoming fed up with the influence of Israel and the Israel lobby on the Trump administration. After podcast host Thaddeus Russell wrote on X that “Israel will be the rock on which MAGA breaks apart,” he revealed that “prominent members of MAGA” had liked the post.

Now seems a good time for Israel and its American supporters to reassess political tactics. They should start by recognizing the benefits of American-Iranian diplomacy for Israel—and the political risks of sabotaging a top geopolitical priority of a U.S. president who can quickly turn against friends and allies who challenge him. For Israel, acquiescing to a preemptive nuclear disarmament deal with Iran would hardly be a sacrifice. As Biden once told Netanyahu, and as Trump should tell him now, Israel would be wise to take the win.

BREAKING: Secretary Pete Hegseth Removes Deputy Chief of Staff Darin Selnick Following Internal Leak Investigation

Secretary Pete Hegseth has placed Deputy Chief of Staff Darin Selnick on administrative leave. This action follows an ongoing investigation into unauthorized disclosures of sensitive military information.

Selnick, an Air Force veteran and former senior adviser to Concerned Veterans for America, was escorted from the Pentagon on Tuesday, according to Politico.

Politico reported:

Darin Selnick, the Pentagon’s deputy chief of staff, was also suspended as part of the same probe and escorted out of the building, according to one of the officials.

The leaks under investigation include military operational plans for the Panama canal, a second carrier headed to the Red Sea, Elon Musk’s controversial visit to the Pentagon and pausing the collection of intelligence to Ukraine, the other official said.

Reuters first reported Caldwell’s removal, but Selnick’s departure and the focus of the leaks have not been previously reported.

The suspensions come as the Trump administration seeks to root out leaks, including at the Defense Department. A March memo signed by Hegseth’s chief of staff asked the Pentagon’s director for defense intelligence to look into unauthorized disclosures, and approved the use of polygraphs.

His removal comes in the wake of similar actions taken against Dan Caldwell, a senior adviser to Hegseth, earlier the same day.

AOC Mocked for Affecting Strange Accent While Addressing Crowd: ‘The Kamala Playbook’ (VIDEO)

Far Left New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is still doing her ‘fight oligarchy’ tour with Bernie Sanders. This week, the dynamic duo was in Idaho.

People on social media have noticed that she is going down the same road as Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton by affecting different accents, depending on where she is and who she’s talking to. Obama has done this as well, it’s quite popular among Democrats.

In AOC’s case, it comes off as especially fake because it’s so obvious what she’s doing.

FOX News reported:

Social media erupts after AOC debuts another ‘strange’ accent at rally: ‘Kamala’s playbook’

Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez faced blowback from conservatives on social media this week after they accused her of putting on a fake accent at a rally.

The progressive New York congresswoman held a rally in Nampa, Idaho, with Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., who caucuses with Democrats, on Monday where she reportedly drew over 12,000 people and caught the attention of conservatives with one particular clip where she was accused of deliberately changing her tone of voice.

“Oh look, AOC is doing the interchangeable accents to fit the demographic she’s in front of,” conservative influencer account Gunther Eagleman wrote on X. “Did she take notes from Kamala?”

“Kamala Harris just introduced yet another new accent,” conservative influencer Benny Johnson posted on X. “Sike, this is AOC. Seems to be using Kamala’s playbook. I guess she didn’t pay attention during the 2024 election.”

This is exactly what Kamala Harris did on the campaign trail.

Why do they do this? pic.twitter.com/lXpOClW1rh

— Townhall.com (@townhallcom) April 15, 2025

Nothing about AOC is real. Some people have claimed that when she first ran for office, she had to basically audition for the ‘Justice Democrats’ who backed her campaign. Since being elected, all she has seemed to care about is expanding her national profile rather than doing anything for the people she is supposed to represent.

CREEPY: Fears Growing That New England Towns Are Being Hunted by a Serial Killer

Is there a serial killer hunting in small towns across New England? A growing number of people believe this is happening.

Human remains have been discovered in various places in the region and there is enough evidence to suggest that the crimes are connected.

It’s creepy to think that there is some evil person out there stalking and killing people for no reason but studies have shown that there are serial killers operating in the country at any given time.

Every once in a while, law enforcement connects the dots on certain cases and speculation grows.

The Daily Mail reports:

Fears gorgeous New England towns are being stalked by serial killer after three women found dead

Fears are mounting that a serial killer is stalking quaint New England towns after the remains of three women were found in the span of six weeks.

Residents across Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island are on high alert following the discoveries.

On March 6, the remains of 35-year-old Paige Fannon of West Islip, New York, turned up in New Haven. Her body had been found in a fast-moving Norwalk River the night after a heavy deluge.

Then on March 21, police found another set of human remains, later confirmed to be that of missing 59-year-old mother-of-two Denise Leary.

On March 25, Rhode Island State Police found another set of remains in a wooded area of Foster, which were later identified as missing 56-year-old Michele Romano.

Several other sets of unidentified remains have also been located in New England towns during a similar time period.

Other outlets have also reported the story:

CNN’s Scott Jennings Slams Democrats Over Defense of Harvard That’s Sitting on $53 Billion Endowment (VIDEO)

In the ongoing battle between President Trump and Harvard University, Democrats and the media are siding with Harvard, because of course they are.

Over on CNN, Scott Jennings, the lone voice of reason, recently knocked the Democrats, pointing out that once again, they are on the wrong side of a popular issue. The demands the Trump administration has made on the school are very reasonable and in line with public sentiment.

Jennings noted that while Democrats cry for Harvard over Trump withholding billions in funding, the school is sitting on an endowment that’s worth $53 billion. That’s bigger than the economy of some small countries.

The Daily Caller reports:

Jennings further said that politicians would “get their ass[es] kicked” if they told the American people that they must hand over $9 billion to an elite university, and stated that universities have posed a national security risk by admitting students who “fundamentally hate western civilization.”

“I think, as a political matter, if you went out to the American people right now and said ‘well, we’re just not gonna make it as a country unless we give $9 billion to Harvard, it’s sitting on $53 billion.’ You’d get your ass kicked, I imagine, in a political campaign,” Jennings said. “Now, don’t misunderstand. I with Harvard would actually work something out here.

I do agree that these universities are important. They do important work. But I don’t agree that we need to continue to fund people who don’t listen to us when we say ‘you have problems.’ I would argue that it’s a national security problem that these Ivy League colleges are turning out people who fundamentally hate western civilization. So there are points to be made here and they need to listen.”

Here’s the clip:

“If you went out and argued to the American people right now and said, well, we’re just not going to make it as a country unless we give $9 billion to Harvard, that’s sitting on $53 billion, you’d get your ass kicked. I imagine, in a political campaign.”

Scott Jennings is right. pic.twitter.com/9203Ev2EdG

If Harvard wants to continue to foster anti-American and antisemitic culture on their campus, they can do it on their own dime. The American people do not need to fund it.

BREAKING: Trump Administration Criminally Refers NY AG Letitia James to Justice Department for Mortgage Fraud

The tables have turned!

The Trump Administration criminally referred New York Attorney General Letitia James to the Justice Department over accusations of mortgage fraud.

The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) accused Letitia James of falsifying records, citing a 5-unit property in New York she claimed was only four units in order to get a more favorable loan.

TGP recently reported on this 5-unit property in Brooklyn that Letitia James purchased in 2001.

For more than 20 years, Letitia James repeatedly claimed her Brooklyn apartment building was a four-unit property on mortgage applications—despite official records proving it had five.

This is not a minor discrepancy. Lying to the bank about the unit count enabled Letitia James to secure more favorable loans, including a 2011 Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) loan that saved her tens of thousands of dollars annually.

The Certificate of Occupancy clearly states it is a 5-unit family dwelling.

Bill Pulte, the Director of the FHFA, also said Letitia James falsely claimed her Virginia property as ‘ owner-occupied’ even though she doesn’t live there.

“This is a person who prosecuted Trump for everything short of ripping a label off a mattress, and among the charges that were brought in New York, in just the civil but the criminal case, was making false or misleading statements to financial institutions,” Johnathan Turley said on Fox News. “As for James, if we apply the Letitia James standard that she created, there’d be little question here. This seems pretty straightforward.”

Fox News reported:

New York Attorney General Letitia James has been hit with shocking allegations by the Trump administration, accusing her of mortgage fraud.

In documents obtained by Fox News Channel’s The Ingraham Angle, the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) sent a criminal referral to the Department of Justice, accusing James of mortgage fraud.

FHFA Director William Pulte said in a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi that James appears to have falsified records in order to meet certain lending requirements and receive favorable loan terms.

Pulte cited a property in Virginia that James allegedly claimed as her principal residence, and a property in New York that she claimed as a four-unit structure instead of five, which he said could mean she was able to get a different and more favorable loan.

The Gateway Pundit also reported that Letitia James may have either married her father or falsified loan documents back in 1983.

According to New York City Department of Finance records, on May 20, 1983, Letitia James and her father, Robert James, took out a real estate loan from Kadilac Funding Ltd. for $30,300 as “husband and wife.” Letitia James’ mother is Nellie James.

Police Investigating “Shooting Incident” at Dallas, TX High School – 4 Students Wounded

Photo via Fox 4 Dallas

Police are currently investigating a “shooting incident” at Dallas, Texas’s Wilmer-Hutchins High School on Tuesday.

Police responded to the scene at approximately 1 pm CT.

Initial reporting showed a large police, fire, and paramedic response:

Per Fox 4 Dallas, “Three people have non-life-threatening injuries, and one person is in serious condition.”

This is reportedly the second shooting incident at the school. In April 2024, one student shot another inside a classroom.

Dallas Morning News reports, “The district would later blame both human error and systems failure for why a teenager was able to bring a gun into the high school. The Monday after the 2024 incident, which occurred in a classroom, students staged a walkout and said they did not feel safe at school. Multiple students said at the time that the school’s metal detectors were not regularly used and the school did not consistently enforce its clear bag policies, both points of frustration.”

Dallas Independent School District confirmed at 1:25 pm that a “shooting incident” occurred.

“Safety protocols have been implemented, and we are asking everyone to refrain from coming to the campus,” they shared.

Per Dallas Morning News:

An internal police message obtained by The News said the suspected shooter, who has not been publicly identified, was still on the lam as of about 3:30 p.m. Police provided a description of a suspected person and directed officers across the city to look for him.

Adonta Jackson, a senior at Wilmer-Hutchins, said he heard about eight gunshots and screaming about 1 p.m. He then said students began running out of the school.

Lashunda Edwards, Jackson’s mother, said she got a call from a friend that there was a shooting at the school. She said she dropped everything and left work immediately to get to the school.

This is a developing story.

Greg Gutfeld Dismantles the Media’s Non-Stop ‘Maryland Man’ Narrative About Illegal Deported to El Salvador (VIDEO)

You can always tell when Democrats and their media allies find a narrative or talking point that they think is effective because they all start repeating it over and over again.

In a recent example, the media will not stop talking about the ‘Maryland man’ who was deported to El Salvador. He was found to be a member of MS-13 and two separate judges ruled that he should be deported, but none of that matters to the left.

They think they’ve got a talking point that hurts Trump, so they’re just going to keep saying it.

On The Five of FOX News, Greg Gutfeld took on this narrative and broke it down.

Transcript via Real Clear Politics:

JESSE WATTERS: Greg, is this a constitutional crisis?

GREG GUTFELD: You know what’s funny? I don’t care.

I honestly don’t care. I bet the viewers at home feel this narrative at work. What is strange about this story?

What is the strange thing about this story? The majority of Americans favor deportation of illegals, especially those who are criminals, but they favor deportation of illegals. The last, what, 8 days?

7 days? Has been about one person. One person.

I don’t even know his name. I don’t care. If he’s here illegally, he’s gotta go.

We are not responsible for the faulty process that allowed him to be here before. Is he a terrorist? Is he not a terrorist?

I don’t care. Let me give you an analogy. This will be good for you because you like sports.

You walk down your box seats, there’s somebody sitting in your seat. And you go, why is this guy sitting in my seat? And they go, well, he’s not supposed to be there.

But you know he’s a family man. He’s got a job. That’s not on me.

That’s my seat. Don’t you have a process for having him leave that seat? Yes, we do.

Can he go back to his seat? Why doesn’t he go back to his seat? It’s not my concern where that seat is.

He’s gotta go. But did you know he’s been trying really hard to be a good citizen? He’s really quiet.

No, you don’t understand. He’s gotta go. We knew that this process wouldn’t be easy.

It was really easy for Democrats to open the floodgates and be seen as the heroes. Look how compassionate we are. It’s always going to be harder to send them back.

The irony of all of this is that the Democrats don’t even care about this person. They just see him a foil against Trump. Next week, they will have moved on to whatever the ‘new’ thing is.

First Adam Schiff, now New York Attorney General Letitia James.

Letitia James is looking into possible insider trading in connection with President Trump’s 90-day tariff pause.

CNN reported:

New York Attorney General Letitia James is looking into potential insider trading by Trump administration officials and associates around last week’s 90-day tariff pause, James’ office confirmed to CNN on Monday.

The review is in its earliest stages and is not yet a full investigation. It’s unclear if it will ultimately uncover evidence of wrongdoing.

How is posting on social media considered ‘insider trading’?

Last Wednesday President Trump took to Truth Social to calm fears amid his tariff blitz and a market drop.

“BE COOL! Everything is going to work out well. The USA will be bigger and better than ever before!” Trump said last Wednesday morning.

A few minutes later President Trump said it is a good time to buy since the markets were down.

“THIS IS A GREAT TIME TO BUY!!! DJT” Trump said.

Last Tuesday, in response to Trump’s original 104% tariff on China, the Chinese government announced it would retaliate by increasing tariffs on American products from 34% to 84%.

President Trump upped the ante and announced higher tariffs on China on Wednesday.

Later Wednesday Trump announced he is immediately raising tariffs on China to 125%. At the same time he put a 90-day pause on tariffs and lowered reciprocal tariffs on more than 75 countries.

The Dow Jones immediately jumped more than 2,800 points and the Nasdaq surged more than 10% on Wednesday afternoon.

“The S&P 500 skyrocketed 9.1%, on pace for its biggest one-day gain in five years. The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 2,861 points, or 7.4%, also its biggest advance since 2020. The Nasdaq Composite jumped 11.7%, its largest one-day jump in decades,” CNBC reported.
