U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins took bold action to protect America’s food supply and ranching industry from an imminent biological threat.

Effective immediately, all live cattle, horse, and bison imports through U.S. southern border ports of entry have been suspended in response to the reemergence of the New World Screwworm.

The New World Screwworm (Cochliomyia hominivorax) is a parasitic fly whose larvae (maggots) are flesh-eating parasites that infest warm-blooded animals, including cattle, wildlife, pets, and humans. It is considered one of the most destructive parasites known to livestock.

According to the CDC:

NWS infestations are very painful. If you have an NWS infestation, you may see maggots (larvae) around or in an open wound. They could also be in your nose, eyes, or mouth. Tell your healthcare provider of any recent travel to Central or South America, or the Caribbean.

Symptoms can also include

Unexplained skin lesions (wounds or sores) that do not heal.
Skin wounds or sores that worsen over time.
Painful skin wounds or sores.
Bleeding from open sores.
Feeling larvae movement within a skin wound or sore, nose, mouth, or eyes.
Seeing maggots around or in open sores.
A foul-smelling odor from the site of the infestation.

Secondary bacterial infections sometimes occur and may cause fever or chills.

“Due to the threat of New World Screwworm, I am announcing the suspension of live cattle, horse, & bison imports through U.S. southern border ports of entry effective immediately,” Rollins announced on Sunday.

“The last time this devastating pest invaded America, it took 30 years for our cattle industry to recover. This cannot happen again.”

On Fox News Sunday, Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton expressed support for the Trump administration’s foreign policy and for what he called the “unified position” that Iran cannot enrich uranium as part of a nuclear energy program.

The White House is trying to get a nuclear deal with Iran to replace and improve upon the Obama-era deal that President Donald Trump withdrew from in 2018. 

Cotton, a hawkish Republican who has advocated attacking Iran, praised special envoy Steve Witkoff, saying he’s been “very clear” that Trump believes that “Iran cannot have the ability to enrich uranium.”

The administration’s position on the matter has in fact been highly ambiguous, with officials sometimes indicating that a new deal with Tehran should end Iranian enrichment and other times saying merely that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. The Wall Street Journal reported last week that Trump “hasn’t decided if Iran can enrich uranium in a new deal.”

Iranian officials have said that Tehran’s right to enrich uranium is “not negotiable.” Many analysts say that a U.S. demand for Iran to stop enrichment and dismantle its civilian nuclear energy program would likely doom negotiations. 

Cotton’s apparent expression of support for the administration’s Iran policy may be a subtle attempt to steer Trump toward a hardline stance that would complicate ongoing talks.

U.S. and Iranian officials met in Oman Sunday for a fourth round of nuclear negotiations, with both sides agreeing to hold additional talks on technical matters. A senior Trump official said the U.S. side was “encouraged by today’s outcome.” The Iranians were more ambivalent, with a government spokesman calling the talks “difficult but useful to better understand each other’s positions.”

Democrat members of Congress and Newark Mayor Ras Baraka stormed the ICE facility in Newark on Friday.

Democrat Reps. LaMonica McIver, Bob Menendez, and Bonnie Watson Coleman were all fighting for the release of dangerous criminal aliens.

Newark Mayor Baraka was arrested and charged with criminal trespass, but the Democrat lawmakers who engaged in riotous behavior have not been charged yet.

Democrat Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman ran to CNN to defend their criminal acts at the ICE facility.

“If anything, we were pushed and shoved!” Rep. Bonnie said acting like a victim.

The Department of Homeland Security responded to Rep. Bonnie’s lies by posting bodycam footage of the violent altercation as New Jersey Democrats stormed the ICE facility.

A Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman on Saturday said that members of Congress bodyslammed a female ICE agent.

Tricia McLaughlin, Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs, appeared on CNN to discuss the violent confrontation between New Jersey Democrats and ICE Agents at the Delaney Hall detention facility.

“There will likely be more arrests coming. We have bodycam footage of some of these members of Congress assaulting our ICE enforcement officers, including bodyslamming a female ICE officer. We will be showing that to viewers very shortly,” Tricia McLaughlin told CNN.

“If you have that video, are you suggesting members of Congress will be arrested?” CNN asked the DHS spox.

“That is definitely on the table,” Tricia McLaughlin said.

In our own day, the Church offers to everyone the treasury of her social teaching in response to another industrial revolution and to developments in the field of artificial intelligence that pose new challenges for the defence of human dignity, justice and labour.’”

At first glance, Pope Leo XIV’s selection for his papal name, based on a reaction to artificial intelligence, may appear an overblown response to this secular issue of technology.

On the contrary, however, Pope Leo XIV clarified his intention to simply offer a Christian perspective on this secular matter, by saying,

“In our own day, the Church offers to everyone the treasury of her social teaching in response to another industrial revolution & to developments in the field of artificial intelligence that pose new challenges for the defence of human dignity, justice and labour.”

At the age of 69, which is considered young for a Cardinal, Pope Leo XIV will preside over a swiftly changing international labor and technology landscape.

With the advent of Artificial Intelligence, Elon Musk has predicted that all jobs could be replaced by Artificial Intelligence.

In May, 2024, Elon Musk claimed:

“In a benign scenario, probably none of us will have a job. There will be universal high income — and not universal basic income — universal high income. There will be no shortage of goods or services.”

This week, Musk proposed that Artificial Intelligence should replace the US Federal jobs slashed by his Department of Government Efficiency.

Later this week, a new report published by Fortune predicted, “Nearly 20 million jobs are on the chopping block to be replaced by Artificial Intelligence.”

Evidently, as strongly as Christian conservatives may prefer to ignore Artificial Intelligence, this form of technology has now become seeded into our culture – with certain upsides, such as the capacity to eliminate redundant human labor needs, saving taxpayers money.

Should Musk’s envisioned technology landscape become a reality, then millions of citizens may eventually receive a government-backed universal high income to offset the lack of labor needs.

With nothing but free time for citizens, the Catholic Church could then offer an unparalleled sense of refuge for Catholics, and non-Catholics, alike, searching for meaning.

From this perspective, Pope Leo XIV’s papal name selection appears apt.

As it relates to previous Popes named Leo, from 1878-1903, Pope Leo XIII presided over the Catholic Church during the onset of the Industrial Revolution. Notably, Pope Leo XIII’s reign was the fourth-longest by any Pope. At age 93, Pope Leo XIII historically became the oldest-aged Pope.

Most famously, from 440-461, Pope Leo the Great preserved the sanctity of the Catholic Church, and Europe, by convincing Attila the Hun not to invade Rome.

In a striking parallel to Pope Leo the Great’s era, Europe must currently defend against a continental invasion by millions of illegal immigrants, who are increasingly upending Europe’s traditional culture without any jurisdiction.

If Pope Leo XIV seeks to uphold the honor of Pope Leo the Great’s lineage, he must be persuaded against his recent commentaries in support of illegal immigration.

Pope Leo XIV is generally regarded as a centrist within the Catholic Church, blending progressive social outreach with doctrinal conservatism, according to College of Cardinals Report.

President Donald Trump is reportedly set to receive a lavish Boeing 747-8 jumbo jet from Qatar’s royal family.

The nearly brand-new aircraft, originally commissioned by Qatari royals, will be temporarily used as Air Force One during Trump’s second term and then donated to the Trump Presidential Library Foundation upon the conclusion of his presidency, according to sources familiar with the arrangement who spoke to ABC News.

The aircraft, which has flown only a handful of times, is estimated to be worth upwards of $400 million and features gold-plated fixtures, private suites, and luxury lounges fit for royalty.

President Trump reportedly toured the jet in February at Palm Beach International Airport and expressed keen interest in its potential as a presidential aircraft.

This unprecedented arrangement — believed to be the most valuable foreign gift ever extended to the United States — has already triggered a meltdown on the Left.

Rasking wrote, “Trump must seek Congress’ consent to take this $300 million gift from Qatar. Of course, Raskin conveniently ignores key facts and legal precedent.

According to ABC, Trump’s legal team — including White House Counsel David Warrington and Attorney General Pam Bondi — proactively sought clearance from the Department of Defense and the DOJ to ensure the arrangement was above board. Sources familiar with their findings say both departments concluded the plan is “legally permissible.”

Bondi reportedly provided a legal memorandum to the White House last week affirming that the Department of Defense could accept the aircraft as a gift and subsequently transfer it to the Trump Presidential Library Foundation without violating the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution or federal bribery laws.

The Constitution (Article I, Section 9) does prohibit federal officials, including the president, from accepting gifts from foreign heads of state without Congressional consent.

But federal law — namely the Foreign Gifts and Decorations Act of 1966, and amendments passed in 1977 — already provides a framework for handling such gifts.

According to the Reagan Library, citing the General Services Administration (GSA), gifts from foreign governments exceeding a set “minimal value” must be treated as property of the United States.

Recipients can only retain them by purchasing them at fair market value. Otherwise, the gift becomes part of the National Archives or GSA-managed property.

In this case, the gift is being accepted by the Department of Defense, not Trump personally, and then transferred to a non-profit presidential foundation — not his personal garage. The White House Gift Unit and appropriate legal channels are reportedly involved every step of the way.

Even the Obama Presidential Library states that foreign gifts not personally retained become federal property — exactly what’s happening here.

According to the Obama Presidential Library, “At the end of the administration, gifts accepted on behalf of the United States and not personally retained become property of the United States Government and are turned over to the General Services Administration, or to the National Archives to be managed as federal property in the Presidential Libraries.”

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has reportedly secured a significant trade agreement with China, signaling a potential end to the protracted tariff war between the two economic powerhouses.

Over the weekend, high-level talks were held in Geneva between Secretary Bessent, U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng.

Saturday’s meetings lasted eight hours. At one point, the Chinese took a break, but talks resumed shortly afterward. The talks resume on Sunday.

Trump wrote on Truth Social Saturday, “A very good meeting today with China, in Switzerland. Many things discussed, much agreed to. A total reset negotiated in a friendly, but constructive, manner. We want to see, for the good of both China and the U.S., an opening up of China to American business. GREAT PROGRESS MADE!!!”

The discussions aimed to address the escalating trade war, which has seen the U.S. impose tariffs as high as 145% on Chinese goods, with China retaliating with 125% tariffs on American products.

Following the second meeting on Sunday, Secretary Bessent stated that substantial progress had been made, and both sides described the discussions as productive.

While specific details of the agreement have not been disclosed, officials indicated that further information would be released on Monday.

“I think that led to a great deal of the productivity we’ve seen. We will be giving details tomorrow, but I can tell you that the talks were productive. We had the Vice Premier, two Vice Ministers who were integrally involved, Ambassador Jamieson, and myself. I spoke to President Trump, as did Ambassador Jamieson last night, and he is informed of what is going on. There will be a complete briefing tomorrow morning.”

President Trump’s U.S. Trade Representative, Jamieson Greer, hinted that the newly struck deal could play a key role in ending the ongoing tariff war between the two global powers.

I want to echo the Secretary’s remarks with respect to the Swiss government. They’ve been so welcoming—they hosted this, and everything has gone off flawlessly, and we appreciate that.

Again, to the Chinese negotiators, who worked very diligently. These are very tough negotiators. A couple of them I know from before and have had past interactions with them.

This was, as the Secretary pointed out, a very constructive two days. It’s important to understand how quickly we were able to come to an agreement, which reflects that perhaps the differences were not as large as previously thought. That being said, there was a lot of groundwork that went into these two days.

Just to remember why we’re here in the first place: The United States has a massive $1.2 trillion trade deficit. The President declared a national emergency and imposed tariffs. We’re confident that the deal we struck with our Chinese partners will help us to work toward resolving that national emergency.

“He’s not very smart.”

That’s how President Trump’s former Acting ICE Director Tom Homan described Newark Mayor Ras Baraka after the Democrat politician was caught red-handed storming a federal immigration detention facility alongside three far-left House Democrats in what many are calling a brazen act of political theater — and even criminal trespassing.

The incident, now dubbed the “ICE-surrection”, erupted Friday afternoon when Baraka and his entourage physically confronted federal agents at an ICE detention center in New Jersey, screaming about “due process” and waving the Constitution like a prop in a political circus.

But bodycam footage released Saturday tells a much different story — one of aggression, disorder, and dangerous ignorance.

According to News12NJ, Baraka was shouting at agents after he gained entry through the gate.

Interim US Attorney for the District of New Jersey Alina Habba said Mayor Baraka was taken into custody after he ignored multiple warnings from DHS agents.

“The Mayor of Newark, Ras Baraka, committed trespass and ignored multiple warnings from Homeland Security Investigations to remove himself from the ICE detention center in Newark, New Jersey this afternoon. He has willingly chosen to disregard the law. That will not stand in this state. He has been taken into custody. NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW,” Alina Habba said.

Mayor Baraka was arrested and charged with federal trespass on Friday, however, more arrests are imminent, the DHS confirmed on Saturday.

“There will likely be more arrests coming. We have bodycam footage of some of these members of Congress assaulting our ICE enforcement officers, including bodyslamming a female ICE officer. We will be showing that to viewers very shortly,” Tricia McLaughlin told CNN.

“If you have that video, are you suggesting members of Congress will be arrested?” CNN asked the DHS spokesperson.

Baraka, who is reportedly eyeing a 2025 run for New Jersey governor, didn’t waste a second exploiting the incident for airtime. Within hours of his confrontation with ICE agents, he appeared on CNN, painting himself as a hero for justice — a laughable performance now completely dismantled by footage of the event and Homan’s fiery response.

During the segment on Fox News Live, Homan minced no words, pointing out the total hypocrisy of Democrats pretending to champion “due process” while interfering with lawful immigration enforcement.

Alicia Acuna: Just watching that body cam video, absolutely incredible to see that that went down. And before we get to it, I’d like you to also hear what the Newark Mayor had to say also in his defense.

Ras Baraka (Clip): We ask them to obey our laws, to obey the policies and rules here in the city and the state of New Jersey, not to run roughshod over the Constitution of the United States, the Bill of Rights, the Fourth, the Fifth, the Fourteenth Amendment, that everybody on this soil deserves due process.

Alicia Acuna: Tom, he’s saying they’re the good guys here.

Tom Homan: Well look, he’s not very smart. I mean, bottom line is, that’s what the facility’s all about. This facility’s about due process.

This facility is where we put illegal aliens, people in the country illegally, first of all, they’re in the country illegally, they’re being detained. And they were screaming and yelling about due process, and fourteenth, and all this in the Constitution. This is where due process happens.

We have to detain them to go through the due process – You know, sometimes seeing a judge, sometimes they already have final orders. It’s ranging removal to their countries and getting travel documents to their country and making sure all the administrative processes are followed. So this is exactly what that facility means.

And I’ll tell you this: I can guarantee you, this facility has higher detention standards than any New Jersey facility. This facility has highest detention standards in the industry. You compare that to any jail in New Jersey and you’d be shocked how high these detention standards are.

NASA scientists have calculated the date a lunar eclipse occurred in A.D. 33 that may pinpoint the day of Jesus’ crucifixion.

In Genesis 1, we read that God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years.”

So it’s not surprising there would be a least one sign in the heavens to mark the death of Jesus as a sacrifice for the sins of the world.

The New York Post reported that NASA’s “astronomical models suggest that a lunar eclipse turned the moon red over Jerusalem on Friday, April 3, 33 AD — a date many scholars tie to Jesus’ death.”

In the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 27, we read, “Now from the sixth hour [noon] there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.”

But extra-biblical texts indicate that in addition to this daytime darkness, a blood moon occurred the night of Jesus’ death.

“At his crucifixion the sun was darkened; the stars appeared and in all the world people lighted lamps from the sixth hour till evening; the moon appeared like blood,” read a passage from the Report of Pilate — part of the New Testament apocrypha, the Post said.

The Bible answer site Got Questions reported that A.D. 33 is the likely year of Jesus’ crucifixion, based on a prophecy in the book of Daniel.

In Daniel 9, the prophet writes of being visited by the angel Gabriel while he and his fellow Jews were being held in Babylonian captivity. Gabriel told him that the time from the decree to rebuild Jerusalem is issued until the “anointed one” (i.e., Jesus) is cut off, will be 69 weeks of years, or 483 years.

King Artaxerxes of Persia issued the decree to “restore and rebuild Jerusalem” c. 444 B.C.

“Converting the 360-day year used by the ancient Jews, 483 years becomes 476 years on our solar calendar. Adjusting for the switch from B.C. to A.D., 476 years after 444 B.C. places us at A.D. 33, which would coincide with Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem (Matthew 21:1–9). The prophecy in Daniel 9 specifies that, after the completion of the 483 years, ‘the Anointed One will be cut off’ (verse 26). This was fulfilled when Jesus was crucified,” according to Got Questions.

The late Dallas Theological Seminary professor Harold Hoehner calculated April 3, A.D. 33 as the date of Jesus’ crucifixion in his seminal book “Chronological Aspects of the Life of Christ” employing the Daniel prophecy.

Additionally, author Andreas Köstenberger wrote a piece titled “April 3, AD 33: Why We Believe We Can Know the Exact Date Jesus Died” for the Center for Biblical Studies at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

“In the Pharisaic-rabbinic calendar commonly used in Jesus’s day, Passover always falls on the fifteenth day of Nisan (Exodus 12:6), which begins Thursday after sundown and ends Friday at sundown. In the year a.d. 33, the most likely year of Jesus’s crucifixion, Nisan 15 fell on April 3, yielding April 3, a.d. 33, as the most likely date for the crucifixion,” he explained.

The number three is significant in the Bible. Got Questions explained that it stands for divine perfection.

We know that Jesus rose on the third day, and that he is the second Person of the Trinity.

So it would not be shocking that God, knowing the Gregorian solar calendar would become the world’s calendar, would choose April 3,  A.D. 33 as the date he redeemed sinners.

And NASA may have helped verify the date.
