Two State Capitals Adopt LGBT Flags as Official City Flags in Bid to Circumvent Law

“Cutting off your nose to spite your face” is a metaphorical expression.

I’m not letting most of you, our infinitely wise readership, at home in on this self-evident fact. Instead, this is more of a public service announcement to the family, friends, and co-workers of those employed or elected by the cities of Boise, Idaho, and Salt Lake City, Utah: Keep sharp objects away from these people for the next few weeks or anytime you hear someone saying something about their visage. Thank me later.

I mention this because, within hours of each other, lawmakers in both state capitals, 330 miles away, passed laws that made the LGBT rainbow “pride” flag and other flags official city flags in order to sidestep state laws that would have barred the display of such flags.

According to KSL-TV in Salt Lake City, “[t]he new flags would add the sego lily logo from Salt Lake City’s city flag to the Juneteenth, Progress Pride and transgender flags” in order to make them official city flags, essentially a move to sidestep a bill that would ban flying most flags that were not the official national, state, city, or school flags.

BoiseDev reported a similar reasoning behind the move “retroactively designating the Pride flag and the Donate Life flag, commemorating April as Donate Life Month, honoring the benefits of organ donation, as official flags of the City of Boise. This puts these two flags alongside the traditional blue City of Boise flag featuring the Idaho State Capitol as official flags of the city’s government.”

“This move comes after weeks of tension over [the mayor’s] decision to continue flying the Progress Pride flag in front of city hall in defiance of HB 96 brought by Rep. Heather Scott, R-Blanchard.

“That bill, passed in the 2025 legislative session, restricted the flags local governments in Idaho can fly to a specific list of flags, including the United States flag, the State of Idaho flag, official city flags, the POW/MIA flag, branches of the U.S. military, Indian tribal flags, flags for colleges, universities or public schools and the flags of other nations for special occasions.”

Now, it’s worth mentioning that, when conservatives protested against the universal protection for killing babies in the womb and for same-sex marriage, the Supreme Court miraculously discovered in the Constitution — we were reminded that we were one nation and should respect the law of that nation — “penumbras” and “emanations” conveniently located in a vaguely written amendment, which originally dealt with the aftermath of the Civil War but is now used as a cudgel for every left-wing cause that cannot pass muster at the ballot box.

Now, two states have passed perfectly legal and clear laws about what flags may be displayed, a clear shot across the bow of liberal locales that put rainbow or transgender flags atop poles across the city for “pride” month, often overshadowing or ignoring the flag of the nation or state and alienating the electorate.

Very well, Boise and Salt Lake City are saying after the massive backlash: We’re going to make symbols of enforced acceptance of sexual deviance official city flags because nyahhhh!

“The feedback we have gotten since we ventured into this space has been overwhelming from local Boiseans in support of this because we know that’s not just a flag. We know it says who we are, and we know that this bill was about just one flag,” Boise Mayor Lauren McLean said.

“We now have three official flags in this city in response to this bill, but most importantly, that action demonstrates who we are, the values we hold, our commitment to those seen and unseen to show you are welcome and wanted here.”

Unless you hold to scripturally held views of gender and sexuality that go back thousands of years, then you can go to hell. (Well, perhaps not in the afterlife, but at least in Boise.)

Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall expressed similar sentiments.

“These city flags represent the ideas and principles Salt Lakers know as core tenets — belonging and acceptance, or better stated: diversity, equity, inclusion,” she said.

But of course: “The new flags would not replace the city’s primary flag, which was adopted in 2020,” KSL reported.

Not that these are anywhere near as evil as the  “segregation academies” adopted in the South after the federal government had the temerity to enforce integration and equality under the law — ostensibly “private” schools that could still segregate until a later Supreme Court decision applied Brown v. Board of Education to all schools, but which were funded by the community and, in some cases, governments as a workaround and were basically public to white students — but the principle and the motivating spirit is the same: If the government stops you from divisive social policies, don’t listen, don’t learn, find loopholes.

Have 60 flags, while you’re at it. Just make sure none have a cross on it. And a Star of David? Burn that thing, lest the local Islamic community see it. (Crescent and star flags are OK for right now, just so long as Muslims keep voting Democrat. Once they stray off the plantation, hoist the Charlie Hebdo flag high.)

This is all quite silly, doubly so when you consider these are light blue cities in dark red states where a small group of Karens with “Coexist” bumper-sticker-bedecked Subarus have decided they can’t coexist with the law, so they’re making a mockery of it. That’s how sacred they believe these flags to be — and what we can expect as the wave of woke crests and rolls back into to the ocean.

Mark my words: Just as the South had segregation academies, the lefty enclaves will eventually have 23 official city flags, 22 of them celebrating sin and one of them being the actual flag.

The latter may seem trivial compared to the former — but if you think politico-sponsored mockery of equality under the law is bad, just wait until you see where bureaucratic mockery of God takes us. This is just one of the sillier symptoms of a deadly disease upon the American body politic.

Come to think of it, if we can stop the metastasis by removing the nose, maybe there’s hope. Keep those sharp objects around after all, my Boise and Salt Lake City peeps. Just don’t let your lawmakers near you with them.

Liberal Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor Takes Veiled Shot at Trump After Roberts Public Rebuke

United States Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor speaking to attendees at the John P. Frank Memorial Lecture at Gammage Auditorium at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona/ Gage Skidmore

Without mentioning his name, liberal Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor took a veiled shot at President Trump on Thursday evening.

During remarks at an event for the American Bar Association in DC, Sotomayor told lawyers in attendance to stand up and fight against unprecedented attacks.

“Our job is to stand up for people who can’t do it themselves. And our job is to be the champion of lost causes,” Sotomayor said referring to Trump’s executive actions against Deep State law firms.

“But right now, we can’t lose the battles we are facing. And we need trained and passionate and committed lawyers to fight this fight,” Sotomayor said according to AP.

Sotomayor’s comments come after Chief Justice Roberts on Wednesday evening rebuked President Trump AGAIN in a rare public appearance.

This is the second time Roberts has publicly lashed out at President Trump in recent months.

In March Justice Roberts defended the rogue judiciary and slammed Trump’s call for impeaching judges.

Speaking at a fireside chat to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the US District Court for the Western District of New York, Justice Roberts lashed out at Trump for his calls to impeach radical judges.

“Well, I’ve already spoken to that and, you know, impeachment is not how you register disagreement with decisions,” Roberts said in front of hundreds of judges and lawyers.

“That’s what we’re there for,” Roberts said.

“The judiciary is a co-equal branch of government, separate from the others, with the authority to interpret the Constitution as law and strike down, obviously, acts of Congress or acts of the president,” he said.

NIH Insider Blasts ‘Don Corleone’ Anthony Fauci: ‘I admired Fauci in his earlier career, but I can’t say that anymore’

A guest essay at Disinformation Chronicle, written by an anonymous infectious disease researcher at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) reveals that the agency was a tightly controlled fifedom where Anthony Fauci behaved “like a medieval Italian Signoria, where his every word was law, his every whim obeyed.”

Although the author initially admired Fauci for his strong leadership, that view soured after watching how Fauci handled the origins of COVID-19 and research funding.

Several incidents caused me to change my view beginning in March 2020 when a group of renowned virologists published a paper in Nature Medicine that falsely concluded a lab accident could not have started the COVID pandemic.

The author notes a fear of speaking out publicly against the paper, which was widely accepted by the media. Dissenters feared a career-ending backlash in the toxic NIH environment Fauci allowed to flourish.

At the time, people were being called “conspiracy theorists” for even asking if the virus could have had a lab origin. There was a real fear of saying what you thought—shame, humiliation—and I was worried about getting fired. I believed the entire virology and the NIH-funded scientific communities would have banded together to discredit me if I said anything, and my career would have been over. Dr. Fauci was the most powerful man in the scientific community at that time and his word was undisputed.

The author was further dismayed when Fauci denied funding gain-of-function research in Wuhan during 2021 congressional hearings, despite evidence suggesting otherwise.

A year later, I watched in disbelief as Dr. Fauci testified before Congress where he strongly denied allegations about dangerous virus research he was funding at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. I realized that the Fauci-led NIAID had participated in a classic Washington ploy: satisfy your critics by pretending to regulate activity that can harm the public, while actually letting your friends do whatever they want. In this case, I’m talking about gain-of-function virus studies, research that should end tomorrow to protect us from future man-made pandemic disasters.

The author also raised concerns about large grants awarded to potentially to maintain loyalty and deflect lab-leak scrutiny.

Instead of pausing to investigate whether a lab leak had occurred, Fauci awarded Daszak a new multi-million-dollar CREID grant dedicated to hunting for novel viruses in bats—not just in Chinese caves, but across Southeast Asia and parts of Africa. From 2020 to the present, Daszak and EcoHealth Alliance received $4,474,707 for his CREID grant plus another $3,353,628 for similar virus hunting grants.

At the same time, NIAID also awarded the authors of the Proximal Origin paper—Scripp’s Andersen and Tulane’s Garry—large CREID grants which have cost American taxpayers $11,322,650. By handing out awards to political allies, Don Fauci maintained a web of allegiances.

The author concludes by calling for an end to gain-of-function research and redirecting funds to safer methods, like computational modeling, to prioritize public safety.

It is no wonder Joe Biden gave Fauci a preemptive pardon.

A Conservative Catholic Resurgence Meets a Moderate Pope

Credit: Franciscans of the Immaculate / Flickr

Liberals, many of whom are not Catholic, have welcomed the election of Pope Leo XIV, formerly Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, who now becomes the first American-born pontiff in the Church’s history.

Their enthusiasm stems in part from his past criticism of President Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance, along with his reputation as a theological and political moderate. Some interpret his moderate tone as a signal that he may lead the Church in a more liberal direction; however, they may be disappointed.

While Pope Leo XIV appears to share Pope Francis’s concern for migrants and the poor, early signs suggest he remains firmly committed to Church teaching on key moral issues such as abortion, traditional marriage, and the male-only priesthood.

Like his predecessor, he is expected to extend pastoral care and welcome all individuals into the Church, including offering blessings to those in irregular situations, which is consistent with Fiducia Supplicans, the December 2023 document that permitted blessings for individuals in same-sex unions, though not for the unions themselves.

At the same time, he is also likely to uphold the Church’s clear opposition to gender ideology.

The 2019 Vatican document Male and Female He Created Them criticized gender theory as an attempt to “annihilate the nature of the human being,” and Pope Francis has repeatedly called gender ideology “a form of ideological colonization” that distorts creation and undermines the family.

As Francis put it: “It is one thing for a person with homosexual tendencies to be welcomed in the Church; it is another thing to promote gender ideology.”

In recent years, many mainline Protestant denominations in the United States have adopted increasingly liberal theological positions, including the ordination of women and LGBTQ+ clergy, performing same-sex marriages, and adopting contemporary music and worship styles.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and the Presbyterian Church (USA) have long supported the ordination of openly gay clergy and the blessing of same-sex unions. The United Methodist Church recently lifted its bans on same-sex marriage and LGBTQ+ clergy.

Some congregations have even removed traditional Christian symbols, like the cross, to appear more inclusive. While these changes reflect an effort to align with modern cultural values, they have also caused internal divisions.

The United Methodist Church’s reforms, for example, led to the creation of the Global Methodist Church by congregations seeking to preserve traditional teachings on marriage and sexuality.

In contrast to liberalizing trends in many Protestant denominations, the Catholic Church has maintained its traditional teachings and liturgical practices, emphasizing continuity with its origins dating back to 33 AD.

While critics claim the Church is out of touch, its steadfastness has appealed to many, particularly those seeking stability amid widespread societal change.

The growing movement toward conservatism among Catholics is evident in several trends, most notably the resurgence of the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM), also known as the Tridentine Mass.

Between January 2019 and June 2021, average attendance at TLM services rose by 34%, and the number of parishes offering it increased by 27%.

Surveys show TLM attendees are overwhelmingly conservative: 77% identify as Republican, 85% believe abortion should be illegal in all cases, and 98% affirm belief in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist.

Not only are existing Catholics gravitating toward a more traditional Church, but conversions are also rising among the general population. In 2025, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles welcomed 5,587 new Catholics during the Easter Vigil, the highest number in over a decade.

Nationwide, dioceses like Fort Worth, Texas, reported conversion increases of up to 72% from 2023 to 2024. Many of these new Catholics are young adults in their 20s and 30s, drawn to a faith that offers moral clarity and a strong sense of community.

Their decisions are often influenced by disillusionment with secular culture, the aftermath of the pandemic, and exposure to Catholic content online.

A similar trend is unfolding in the United Kingdom, where Catholicism is experiencing a resurgence among young Britons, especially men aged 18 to 34, who are drawn to the Church’s adherence to traditional beliefs.

By contrast, the national Church, the Church of England, has gone full woke, allowing clergy to enter same-sex civil partnerships since 2005, approving blessings for same-sex couples in 2023, and advancing proposals in 2024 to permit gay clergy to marry.

Alongside these changes, some Church institutions have removed traditional Christian symbols to appear more inclusive. For example, a primary school in Huddersfield removed the cross from its uniform to avoid offending non-Christian students.

As a result, the Church of England has seen a steady decline in membership. In 2013, average weekly attendance was just over one million; by 2023, it had fallen to 685,000.

Across Europe, the pattern is the same: Protestant churches continue to liberalize, with examples like a bishop in Sweden suggesting the removal of crosses from churches to accommodate Muslim visitors.

Meanwhile, Catholicism is on the rise in countries such as Austria, Belgium, Sweden, and Kosovo, with adult baptisms increasing by as much as 85% in some areas.

Analysts suggest that the Church’s structured beliefs and rituals are attracting people who are searching for stability and meaning in an increasingly secular world.

In the U.S., a growing number of young Catholic women are emerging as influential voices, blending traditional Catholic faith with conservative politics and enthusiastic support for Donald Trump.

Once dominated by evangelical Protestants, the female face of conservative politics now includes Catholic social media influencers like Isabel Brown and Jayme Franklin, as well as staffers at pro-Trump institutions.

These women promote a vision of Catholicism that aligns closely with Trump’s policies on abortion, religious liberty, and gender roles.

Notably, this shift toward conservatism coincides with the death of Pope Francis and the election of Pope Leo XIV, placing the Church at a crossroads between progressive and conservative futures.

REPORT: Israeli Officials “Shocked” over Trump’s Houthi Truce – Trump Reportedly Upset with Netanyahu for Trying to Get U.S. involved in Military Conflict with Iran Ahead of Nuclear Talks and Visit to Middle East

President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hold a press conference at the White House Feb. 5, 2025

President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are seemingly at odds amid a U.S. truce with Houthis in Yemen and the President seeking to peacefully negotiate a nuclear deal with Iran without plunging the United States into another endless war.

According to Axios, Trump met with Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer in private on Thursday to discuss upcoming nuclear talks with Iran and Israel’s Gaza campaign. Dremer also met with Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and special envoy Steve Witkoff.

Trump is expected to visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates on Monday, as Steve Witkoff is expected to hold nuclear talks with Iran on Sunday. Trump reportedly does not plan to visit Israel despite efforts by Israeli officials to host Trump for a visit.

This comes as the U.S. entered a cease-fire with the Houthis this week after stopping their threat against global shipping in the Red Sea and deterring Iranian lethal support to the Houthis. This development left Israeli officials “shocked,” according to an unnamed Israeli official.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump announced on Tuesday that the U.S. “will stop the bombing” against the Houthis in Yemen after the Houthis told the U.S. that “they don’t want to fight anymore,” said Trump. Per the truce, neither side will attack the other, including U.S. vessels in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait.

He further teased a major announcement that he will make before he departs for the Middle East next week. “We’re gonna have a very, very big announcement to make, like, as big as it gets,” the President said.

WATCH: President Trump Teases “Very, Very Big Announcement” Before Trip to Middle East – “One of The Most Important Announcements that Have Been Made in Many Years”

“The episode raised concerns about the likely limits of Israel’s influence on the U.S. approach to nuclear talks with Iran. Netanyahu is skeptical of diplomacy and wants Trump to consider a military option,” Axios reports.

The Times of Israel further reports that Trump is disappointed with Netanyahu over his push for war, citing Hebrew-language outlet Israel Hayom’s discussion with “senior sources close to the President.”

More from Times of Israel:

According to the Hebrew-language daily, in closed-door conversations Trump said he was going to make progress on his objectives in the Middle East without waiting for Israel.

On a deal with Saudi Arabia, Trump wants Israel to be a central part of an agreement, but “Netanyahu is delaying making the necessary decisions,” writes Israel Hayom’s Ariel Kahana, who interviewed Trump at Mar-A-Lago last year.

Trump is also still upset with Netanyahu and his circle over what he sees as an attempt to push the White House into military action against Iran’s nuclear program, say the sources.

After the Houthi ceasefire announcement, Netanyahu and senior ministers have been emphasizing in recent statements that Israel “can defend itself by itself.”

This also comes as reports suggest that former National Security Advisor Mike Waltz was ousted from his position over a clash with top U.S. officials on potential military action against Iran. According to an unconfirmed report from the Washington Post, an anonymous administration source said Waltz “wanted to take U.S. policy in a direction Trump wasn’t comfortable with because the U.S. hadn’t attempted a diplomatic solution.”

WaPo reported that “Waltz also upset Trump after an Oval Office visit in early February by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, when the national security adviser appeared to share the Israeli leader’s conviction that the time was ripe to strike Iran, two of the people said.”

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Waltz was removed from his post last week after he added anti-Trump editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, Jeffrey Goldberg, to a secure Signal group chat where top Trump administration officials discussed military operations against Iran-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen in March. President Trump announced he will be nominating Waltz to be the next U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations after his ousting as National Security Advisor.

This is a developing story.

Trump Wants The Cartels Destroyed… While Mexico Protects Them! (VIDEO)

President Trump’s bold stance on deploying U.S. military forces into Mexico to combat drug cartels signals a decisive shift toward prioritizing American safety and sovereignty. Frustrated by the relentless flow of fentanyl and illegal immigration fueled by cartel operations, Trump argues, what we all know, that Mexico’s inability to curb these criminal enterprises threatens U.S. national security, justifying direct intervention.  The President of Mexico is refusing to accept Trumps offer to destroy the Cartels.

On this Episode of “Stinchfield,” we applaud President Trump’s aggressive approach, seeing it as a necessary response to a crisis that has claimed countless American lives and strained border communities. While the Mexican President raises issues of sovereignty violations and diplomatic fallout, Trump’s supporters view his willingness to act unilaterally as a testament to his commitment to protecting the homeland, unapologetically putting America first.

Plus Congressman Jay Obernolte (R) joins us. He offers up strong criticism of the way many of his Republican collogues are handling the quest to curb Washington’s out of control spending.

Democrat MA Governor Healey “Grateful for the Opportunity” to Cozy Up to CCP Official

On Wednesday, Democrat Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey proudly boasted about cozying up to a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) diplomat.

Healey took to X to boast about rubbing elbows with Chen Li, the consul general of the People’s Republic of China in New York, saying she was “grateful for the opportunity” to spend time with him.

Healey shared pictures of the meeting on X, with a broad smile and pointing to matching bracelets, stating, “Massachusetts is home to a vibrant Chinese-American community, and China is one of our largest trading partners.”

“Glad to welcome Ambassador H.E. Chen Li of the People’s Republic to China to the State House, and grateful for the opportunity to discuss future collaboration!”

In a press release, Governor Healey said, “Today we welcomed Ambassador H.E. Chen Li to Massachusetts. We discussed our shared economic and cultural ties, and our commitment to continuing to work together for the benefit of our people and our economy.”

“Massachusetts is home to a vibrant community of nearly 200,000 people of Chinese heritage, and they make valued contributions to our communities and our economy.”

Mike Kennealy, a Republican who announced in April that he is challenging Healy for governor, chided the embarrassing move.

“Why is Maura Healey rolling out the red carpet for the Chinese Communist Party? This is embarrassingly naive.”

“The CCP sends fentanyl to the USA to kill our kids. They steal the intellectual property of American inventors. They were paid $1 billion to produce defective and undelivered MBTA cars.”

Globalist Billionaire Bill Gates Vows to Give Away 99% of His Fortune by 2045

Globalist billionaire Bill Gates has announced he plans to give away 99% of his fortune by the year 2045—mostly to international health, climate, and population control programs.

Gates also took the opportunity to chastise America-First leaders like President Trump and Elon Musk for cutting off the spigot of taxpayer-funded global aid.

In a statement released Thursday, the Microsoft co-founder revealed that the Gates Foundation will spend down its remaining $200 billion over the next two decades before shutting down permanently, according to the Financial Times.

The news outlet reported:

Now Gates, who turns 70 this year, is doubling down. Over the next 20 years the Gates Foundation, renamed last year after his 2021 divorce, will give away a further $200bn. On December 31 2045, by which time Gates would be 90, it will shut down permanently. By then, Gates has committed to have spent 99 per cent of his fortune, leaving himself enough money, as he once quipped, “for my tennis racket”.

In a letter announcing what he called “the last chapter of my career”, Gates quotes Andrew Carnegie, the 19th-century steel magnate and philanthropist, saying: “The man who dies thus rich dies disgraced.” People might say many things about him, Gates writes. “But I am determined that ‘he died rich’ will not be one of them.”

Gates has generated nearly as much criticism as praise over his quarter of a century of philanthropy, with people accusing him of everything from shielding his wealth behind a tax shelter and buying influence to implanting chips in people’s brains. He has stuck to his guns. He argues that by spending his money more urgently, he can now help solve once and for all some of the world’s biggest health problems.

Among his many lofty goals for the next two decades are to eradicate polio (and perhaps malaria and measles), come up with a cure for HIV and halve child mortality from levels that have already halved since 2000 — partly thanks to programmes he catalyses or bankrolls.

The new strategy is better, he argues, than drip-feeding money and prioritising the longevity of the foundation over the problems it is trying to solve. “It gives us clarity,” he says in an interview with the Financial Times. “We’ll have a lot more money because we’re spending down over the 20 years, as opposed to making an effort to be a perpetual foundation.”

In his announcement, Gates accused Musk of “killing the world’s poorest children” by cutting funds to international vaccine and health initiatives. That’s right.

According to Gates, American taxpayers who want to fund roads, border security, and local schools instead of malaria research in sub-Saharan Africa are now responsible for mass infanticide.

The arrogance is stunning.

Gates presents his foundation as a nonpartisan humanitarian vehicle. But under the hood, it’s anything but. The foundation has backed a laundry list of left-wing initiatives—from the UN’s radical “Sustainable Development Goals” like gender equity and climate action, to controversial global education reforms that sideline parental rights and national sovereignty.

The same Gates Foundation has also pumped money into questionable vaccine campaigns, “climate resilience” propaganda, and gene-editing experiments that sound more like science fiction than public health.

Bill Gates admits that President Trump pulled all funding from his vaccination initiative following their dinner meeting.

“Gates is blunt in his view of Musk, who he says will be responsible for “killing the world’s poorest children” through his demolition of USAID. But he is much more reluctant to criticise Trump directly. Last December, Gates flew to Mar-a-Lago for a three-hour dinner with the then president-elect, after which he told The Wall Street Journal that he was “frankly impressed” with Trump’s interest in innovation in vaccines and HIV.

Since then, Gates has maintained this position despite the evidence that Trump fully backs the assault on global health. After Musk’s decision to gut USAID, Trump said the organisation had been run by a bunch of “radical lunatics”.
