During much of the Cold War, America placed a high priority on defense of the American Homeland.  Radars, Missiles, and Jet Interceptors were pervasive across the Continental United States.  These capabilities withered greatly with the fall of the Wall dividing Berlin and Germany in 1989.  Since that time, the American Homeland has been largely barren of defenses against hostile aircraft, cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, drones, or rockets.  The existing missile interceptors in California and Alaska are small in number and the rest of the defenses in the United States are spotty and almost insignificant.

President Trump announced an end to this era of defenselessness on January 27, 2025 with his Executive Order entitled, “The Iron Dome for America”, which he now refers to as “Golden Dome”.  Iron Dome references the Israeli systems that were originally designed to knock down simple, small rockets fired from the Gaza Strip, West Bank, and Lebanon, but has evolved into a much larger, tiered network of capabilities that proved an integral part of the historic events of 2024 where two mass volleys of different weapons were launched at Israel from Iran and other locations.

In past missile defense initiatives, the technology was just not ready

 President Eisenhower created an urgency for air defense of the United States, and Congress responded with a well funded appropriation.  Nike Missile bases sprouted up everywhere.  I grew up close to several Nike sites and remember the White and Green, nuclear tipped missiles on duty, raised toward the sky.

Jet Interceptor bases were pervasive, and the old Paine Field in Everett, Washington, now crowded with pre-delivery Boeing airliners, also had nuclear armed jets and was prepped to receive the nascent forebear of hypersonics, the long range BOMARC anti-aircraft missile system.  As the threat from the Soviet Union evolved toward the ballistic missile issue, Nike attempted to pivot toward a missile defense mission.  This shortly became the first generation of a broad missile defense program called “Sentinel”.  This is not to be confused with the current Sentinel Ground Based Deterrent system designed to replace the aging, floppy disk fed, Minutemen III ballistic missiles – the same ones the Chinese spy balloon mapped out in 2023.

The Sentinel Missile Defense System had several shortcomings such as very short range and also a nagging, low probability of intercept.  Liberals went berserk with Sentinel and honed their skills in lawfare and contrived outrage trying to block Sentinel which became Safeguard under President Nixon.  Ft. Lawton, very close by to downtown Seattle was one of the initial sites chosen for Sentinel and the young Hippies who decades later would set up the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) swarmed the gates and fence lines of Ft. Lawton.

The Hippies did have astute operational opinions.  Why put the anti-ballistic missile system right in the middle of the target and why have them at all when the probability of intercept was maybe in the 20-30% range?

The experts in strategic weapons realized the shortcomings of strategic missile defense and arrived at “Mutually Assured Destruction” as the national policy.  President Reagan introduced the “Star Wars” concept for a holistic missile defense solution in the 1980s.  Star Wars missile defense of the 1980s made significant improvements over Sentinel and Safeguard but still fell short of a very high confidence of successful defense.

2024 showed that mass missile and drone attacks could be defeated with high confidence

The Iranians threw everything they had at Israel and partner nations and facilities in April and October 2024.  The Iranian fusillades were the largest ballistic missile, cruise missile, and drone barrage in history.  The integrated and layered defenses included Israel, the United States Navy and Army, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan.  Bottom line, with several hundred weapons launched by Iran and their proxies, the intercept rate was almost 99.9%.  This success was remarkable and shocking.  Missile Defense of 2024 drew upon decades of operational and technological development back to the early days of Nike.

The Hippies from Ft. Lawton days were probably mad over the successful defense of Israel, but even more upset because their USAID money laundering operation was being shut down.  The overwhelming success of the defensive efforts in 2024 had been in place for almost 20 years with Contingency Plans tested repeatedly.  Iran received vigorous and successful Israeli retaliatory strikes which showed off the success of the F-35 in methodically destroying the Chinese and Russian supplied air defense systems.  Iran was neutered in both their offensive and defensive capabilities.  It is very possible Chinese “advisors” at the Iranian sites may have taken casualties.

What will Trump’s “Golden Dome” look like?

In some ways, “Golden Dome” will be a return to the glory days of Eisenhower’s Nike Plan only this time, more reliable, higher levels of effectiveness, and perhaps not as noticeable.  “Golden Dome” will be a layered defense of missiles, cannon, electronic warfare, and lasers defending dozens of America’s cities, ports, airfields, factories, and sensitive strategic sites.  Some of these capabilities will be on the ground and some may be in orbit like the Star Wars concept of operation.  Sensors such as radars, electro-optics, heat, and motion sensors will be linked to regional and national command centers to conduct engagement decisioning with advanced Artificial Intelligence at cyber speed.

Because of ranges and reliabilities, the modern day “Golden Dome” sites will not have to be right in the middle of the target areas.  The success of layered missile defenses in 2024 showed that an integrated and networked constellation of sensors and “shooters” where large numbers of targets can be taken out with very high levels of confidence is not only possible, but now to be considered routine.  America’s days of defenselessness from aircraft, missiles, rockets, and drones are coming to a close with “Golden Dome”.

In a case that has shocked the United States, Brenda Spencer, a woman from Alabama, faces serious charges for keeping her teenage daughter in captivity, chained and locked in a dog cage for years.

Alongside her, Brandon Mosley, her partner, has also been accused of participating in this heinous crime, which includes physical, emotional, and sexual abuse.

The victim, a young girl who was in sixth grade when her ordeal began, managed to escape and report the events, triggering an investigation that has revealed chilling details about her suffering.

The Beginning of a Nightmare.

The teenager, whose identity remains protected due to her status as a minor, was removed from school at the age of 11, in the middle of sixth grade.

According to reports from Univision, it was then that her mother, Brenda Spencer, began subjecting her to a regime of extreme isolation.

The young girl was initially confined in a dog cage, an inhumane space where she spent long periods chained, without access to basic hygiene or adequate food.

Authorities have noted that this was not an isolated incident but a prolonged pattern of abuse that spanned several years.

The victim was deprived of education, social contact, and fundamental freedoms, living in an environment of constant terror.

The Horrifying Reality of Captivity.

The case came to light when the teenager, now in her late teens, managed to escape her confinement. The young girl recounted the horrors she faced to the police.

In addition to being locked in the cage, she was subjected to physical abuse that included beatings and food deprivation as a form of punishment. Emotional abuse, described as psychological manipulation to keep her submissive, was a constant in her life.

Worse still, the accusations include sexual abuse perpetrated by both defendants, Spencer and Mosley. According to the preliminary investigation, these acts occurred repeatedly, exacerbating the victim’s trauma.

The Alabama police, upon receiving the report, acted swiftly, arresting both suspects and gathering evidence at the residence where the events took place.

The case is being handled by authorities in Mobile County, Alabama, where the defendants’ residence is located. The charges against Spencer and Mosley include aggravated child abuse, unlawful detention, and sexual assault.

The investigation continues, with experts examining the crime scene for additional evidence, such as records of the cage’s conditions and other elements to corroborate the victim’s testimony.

The young girl, now under state protection, is receiving psychological and medical care to help her process the trauma. Local organizations supporting abuse victims have offered resources for her recovery, highlighting the teenager’s resilience in finding the strength to escape and report the abuse.

The charges against Spencer and Mosley could lead to decades in prison if they are found guilty. In Alabama, aggravated child abuse and sexual assault are serious crimes that carry severe sentences. However, the judicial process is just beginning, and the defendants will have the right to a trial where the presented evidence will be evaluated.

This case is not just an individual tragedy but a reminder of the systemic failures that allow horrors like this to go unnoticed.

As a society, we must ask ourselves how to protect the most vulnerable when the perpetrators are those they should trust the most: their own parents.

The courage of this young girl in escaping and reporting her abusers is a beacon of hope amidst the darkness.
But her story also compels us to look forward: to strengthen community vigilance, educate about the signs of abuse, and ensure that the full weight of the law falls on those who commit such atrocities.

Only then can we prevent another cage, in some forgotten corner, from becoming a child’s prison.

President Donald Trump has called out Walmart for announcing that it will raise prices in response to the tariffs.

The president pointed out that the company made billions of dollars last year and can afford not to pass the tariffs on to customers.

On Thursday, the multi-billion dollar company announced that price increases could come as soon as next month.

“We have always worked to keep our prices as low as possible and we won’t stop,” a Walmart spokesperson told The Hill. “We’ll keep prices as low as we can for as long as we can given the reality of small retail margins.”

Walmart CEO Doug McMillon claimed that the company is not “able to absorb all the pressure.”

Trump wrote:

Walmart should STOP trying to blame Tariffs as the reason for raising prices throughout the chain. Walmart made BILLIONS OF DOLLARS last year, far more than expected. Between Walmart and China they should, as is said, “EAT THE TARIFFS,” and not charge valued customers ANYTHING. I’ll be watching, and so will your customers!!!

Earlier this week, Trump lowered tariffs on China from 145 percent to 30 percent for 90 days.

China, in response, lowered tariffs on the United States from 125 percent to 10 percent.

Illegal alien Jiver Alejandro Melo Dominguez, 19, from Mexico, indicted on May 16th, 2025, by DeSoto County DA for attempted murder.

An illegal alien has been indicted for attempted murder this past week by the DeSoto County DA’s office.

19-year-old Jiver Alejandro Melo Dominguez, who is from Mexico, allegedly sliced a man’s neck with a box cutter during a construction project back in March of this year. Dominguez was taken into custody by the Hernando Police Department and is currently in DeSoto County jail.

Ah, the poor little rich people at Harvard.

At one of our nation’s most elite institutions (unless you’re a Kennedy, then it’s a safety school if Stanford rejects you), President Donald Trump’s Department of Education had a few simple requests. While the list was detailed so as to eliminate loopholes, the gist was basically this: Stop hating Jews and whites, and stop students who hate Jews and whites from harassing them.

This would include transparency procedures so that notorious student groups and departments which inculcated and incubated anti-Semitism can be subject to transparent external monitoring, and so that DEI programs at the university can be dismantled. In addition, admissions preferences based on race or identity had to be thrown out the window.

Harvard wouldn’t do this, either assuming the Trump administration would blink or that the school would win in court. The Trump administration has proved remarkably adept at this staring contest and while the case will no doubt work its way through the court system, I do not remember private universities receiving federal money being a constitutionally guaranteed right, particularly when said private university has an endowment worth tens of billions of dollars.

That being said, the school has already lost $2.2 billion in grants, and the administration is considering revoking the institution’s tax-exempt status. So, naturally, the university is recons… ahaha, no, they’re just taking pay cuts because hating Jews and whites is more important than educational excellence.

Harvard University President Alan Garber will voluntarily cede 25 percent of his salary for the 2025-26 school year, according to a Fox News report earlier this week.

The outlet also noted that a “Harvard University spokesperson told Fox News about the pay cut, adding that other leaders across the institution are making their own voluntary contributions, given the significant challenges the school faces.”

No merit pay increases will be given to staff during fiscal year 2026, as well, and capital projects and other spending deemed “non-essential” will be put on hold.

This comes after a hiring pause in March and a request for “schools and administrative units to scrutinize discretionary and non-salary spending, reassess the scope and timing of capital renewal projects, and conduct a rigorous review of any new multi-year commitments,” per the spokesperson.

Now, let’s leave aside the fact that we were giving over $2 billion in taxpayer money to an institution where non-essential capital projects and “discretionary and non-salary spending” could tighten the belt enough where tens of billions in endowment cash can’t. Let’s also leave alone the fact that, while Garber’s exact salary isn’t known, the Harvard Crimson has reported past presidents of the university have taken $1 million salaries, leaving him with a salary at least in the high six figures.

First, if you’re doing this so you can continue hating Jews and whites, why not just zero out your salary? I mean, I know you have bills to pay, but this is apparently some sort of academic freedom hill that the university has decided to die on — at least until a friendly administration takes the White House. (If that doesn’t happen in 2028 — if this act of #Resistance2.0 lasts that long, that is — watch this quietly change in a hurry.)

Fine, die on that hill — but don’t take money for it. Other CEOs, in times of dire crisis, have taken that step. In many of those cases, they weren’t the ones who caused the issue in the first place. Garber, I’m sure, is not a poor man — and while $250,000 is a lot to any individual not running, say, Oracle, it’s still a small price to pay if this really is about a life-or-death principle of academic freedom.

Of course, it isn’t, which brings us to the second possibility: Why not just, like, stop hating Jews and whites?

There is no educational imperative for DEI leviathans or “From the River to the Sea” radicals at America’s elite institutions. They serve no purpose other than setting the ideological tone, not the intellectual standards, of a school. We are not bettered by them.

The ivory towers have been mostly insulated from political interference because, despite their leftward slant, they are supposed to produce the best and the brightest — and while that mission hasn’t always been an unalloyed success story, it has worked well enough that conservatives have grumbled but gone along. William F. Buckley may have started the American conservative movement by writing “God and Man at Yale” as a criticism of the intellectual backsliding of his alma mater, but we must remember that Yale and schools like it produced William F. Buckley and many other luminaries.

The radicalization of the ivory towers, however, has rendered this devil’s bargain largely moot. Harvard is now teaching incoming students remedial math because its admissions standards reflect not excellence, but the ideological and identitarian make-up of what the academic left wants the elite to be. It isn’t scholastics so much as social engineering.

Harvard was merely asked to end the most pernicious aspects of it. It refused. The poor little rich university now must go without because it simply couldn’t stop institutionally hating people.

At least one fatality has been reported after a car exploded outside a California fertility clinic just before 11 a.m. local time on Saturday.

The massive explosion blew out windows on buildings as far as half a mile away from the American Reproductive Centers on N Indian Canyon Drive in Palm Springs. The clinic provides in vitro fertilization, advanced reproductive treatments, artificial insemination, egg freezing, surrogacy services, “LGBTQ family building,” and more.

Law enforcement has not provided information about the cause of the blast, but has not ruled out terrorism.

“Everything is in question, whether this is an act of terrorism,” Lt. William Hutchinson told reporters at the scene.

What appeared to be human remains were seen in the middle of the street outside the clinic in photos shared on social media. The Gateway Pundit has opted not to share the images due to their extremely graphic nature.

Emergency crews, including firefighters and police, were dispatched to the scene immediately after the explosion.

According to a report from The Desert Sun, the blast was powerful enough to rattle homes, and some residents reported smoke and a strong odor in the aftermath.

The identity of the deceased has not been released, and it remains unclear whether additional injuries or deaths were reported.

Residents have been urged to avoid the area around North Indian Canyon Drive and follow updates from official sources.

Putin is winning the war, and his conditions fully reflect that fact.

The MSM is filled with ‘leaks’ regarding the Russian demands for peace in Ukraine.

The Kremlin has responded by saying that the negotiations are being held behind closed doors, and therefore the Russian will not comment, but for once we can be pretty sure that the list being circulated is legit.

Only it isn’t much of a leak at all.

Unlike the ever-changing Ukrainian conditions and red lines, Vladimir Putin’s Russians have been very consistent in their demands since the beginning of the war, with one exception: the territorial demands.

While in the 2022 negotiations in Istanbul Russia demanded the totality of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, with the evolution of the war the demand now also includes Zaporozhie and Kherson regions.

It’s been reported that when yesterday’s Istanbul talks broke down, the Russian delegation warned that ‘next time’ (if it takes years to meet again) the number of Ukrainian regions conquered can be 6 or 8.

Intel Slava reported on the Russian conditions that the MSM is ‘revealing’:

“1. Ukraine must adopt a neutral status without the presence of foreign troops or weapons of mass destruction on its territory.

Kiev must renounce its demands for reparations from Moscow.
Ukraine must come to terms with the loss of Crimea and four other regions.
Putin will agree to a ceasefire only after Ukraine withdraws its troops from these regions.

5. The Kremlin wants all five regions to be recognized as Russian at the international level.”

Variations of these demands have appeared on multiple media outlets.

While this is a more informal formulation, it does include the respect for the Russian-speaking populations, a fundamental reason for the war, and a real-life problem in Ukraine that also affects the Hungarian minority.

The restoration of the banned Ukrainian Orthodox Church – for alleged Russian ties – is another real issue.

Russian troops on the move: for Kiev, alternative to peace is to risk capitulation.

Going back to the hardest issue of all, the territorial concessions: these present an almost insurmountable problem, as Russia demands that Kiev withdraw from portions of the four regions that it has not yet conquered.

Just to illustrate how dramatic that is, this would include, for example, Zaporozhie City – with 700+ thousand inhabitants.

The only reason for Volodymyr Zelensky and his regime to even entertain these draconian conditions is that, if they do not, they risk a much worse settlement later on, or even total capitulation.

President Trump has kept his promise to seal the border. Illegal crossings are down over 99 percent, but four years of Biden has created a crisis in this country. Millions of illegals are still within the borders of the United States.

Texas DPS pursued a human smuggler earlier this week in Webb County carrying three illegal aliens in a red Ford Taurus. Aliyah Diaz from Laredo tried to evade DPS troopers on a high-speed chase. She slowed down to let all three illegals out of the vehicle and then took off speeding, eventually crashing into a semi-truck.

Diaz attempted to escape on foot but DPS troopers chased her down and arrested her. She is looking at charges related to human smuggling and evading arrest. Border Patrol was able to find two of the illegals, who were from Mexico, and took them into custody.

DPS troopers regularly deal with situations like this due to the numerous illegal aliens living in Texas. TGP reported earlier this month that DPS pursued a human smuggler on a high-speed chase while letting an illegal alien bail out of a moving car.

Texas has led the way in pursuing illegal aliens and securing their State even during the hostile Biden regime’s efforts to stop them. Operation Lone Star was launched in 2021 by Republican Governor Greg Abbott in an effort to stop deadly drugs like fentanyl from entering the US. In addition, the operation included efforts to deter illegal immigration with the support of Texas DPS and the Texas National Guard.

Article IV, Section 4 of the United States Constitution clearly states the US Government’s responsibility to protect the nation from an invasion. It was intentionally ignored for four years under the Biden regime.

“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.” Article IV, Section 4 of the US Constitution.

Rule of law is back.

A new poll has found that Democrat and left-leaning voters view either progressive Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez or “no one” as the face of their party.

The party has faced a serious identity crisis after Joe Biden’s disastrous presidency and Kamala Harris’s failed presidential campaign.

A newly released Co/efficient poll of approximately 1,400 voters found:

“Currently, there is no consensus on the face of the Democrat Party, as a majority of voters either give the title to AOC (26%) or simply say there is none (26%). Bernie Sanders falls in a distant second, followed by a handful of others who fail to reach double digits.”

There has been growing speculation that the congresswoman from New York might be preparing for a 2028 presidential bid.

A recent AP/NORC poll found that 55 percent of Democrat voters hold a positive opinion of Ocasio-Cortez.

“Fifty-five percent of Democrats have a positive opinion of Rep. Ocasio-Cortez of New York, compared with only 8% of Republicans,” the AP reported.

In a matchup between Democratic primary candidates, a Data for Progress poll found that 75 percent of New York Democratic primary voters favored Ocasio–Cortez over many other candidates, including Chuck Schumer.

Party favorability is likely linked to Ocasio–Cortez’s aggressive anti-Trump stance, which polling and fundraising have consistently shown voters want.

She pushes back against Republicans in congressional hearings consistently, uses social media to criticize the Trump administration and recently embarked on a tour with Senator Bernie Sanders to boost Democratic morale.
