Happy Labor Day: Marco Rubio Gives OMB Director Russ Vought One of His Four Jobs; Will Oversee ‘Closeout’ of USAID

Secretary of State, National Security Advisor and National Archivist Marco Rubio announced going into the Labor Day holiday weekend he has given his fourth job, that of head of USAID, to Russ Vought, the director of the Office of Management and Budget and acting director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

OMB Director Russ Vought on “Fox News Sunday” 6/8/25

Rubio posted on social media that Vought will oversee the “closeout” of the former independent federal agency that was shut down earlier this year by the incoming Trump administration amid accusations of gross mismanagement and fomenting political unrest under the cover of government.

I joked with @realDonaldTrump that I had four jobs. He told me to give one to my friend Russ Vought. So I did.

Since January, we’ve saved the taxpayers tens of billions of dollars. And with a small set of core programs moved over to the State Department, USAID is officially in close out mode. Russ is now at the helm to oversee the closeout of an agency that long ago went off the rails. Congrats, Russ.

Vought responded, “Happy to help! Let’s go!”

At Tuesday’s marathon cabinet meeting, Rubio broke up the room with his Labor Day comment on having four jobs in the Trump administration:

The Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft interviewed a European journalist about USAID earlier this year (excerpt):

In an explosive sit-down interview with The Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft back in March, European journalist Bernadette Conrads delivered a chilling exposé on the sprawling influence of USAID and its deep state-funded allies operating across the European continent.

Conrads, who currently serves as Head of Communications for MEP Petr Bystron of Germany’s populist Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), has spent the last five years tracing a tangled web of taxpayer-funded NGOs, censorship initiatives, and foreign election interference stretching from Washington, D.C. to Brussels.

While USAID may present itself as a harmless humanitarian initiative, Conrads warns it’s anything but.

“Foreign aid? No. It’s not about aid—it’s about control,” said Conrads. “It’s about censorship, regime change, and election interference.”

Her findings confirm what conservatives in America have long suspected: USAID and its sister organizations, like the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), according to Conrads, are merely fronts for the CIA and other unelected power centers in the U.S. government.

These groups allegedly launder influence through NGO cover operations, rig foreign elections, silence dissenting media, and export the very same “deep state” corruption President Donald Trump has vowed to dismantle.

“Pregnant People”: Scott Jennings Triggers CNN Panel Over “Politicized Science” at CDC After Protest Resignation of Woke, Pronoun Using Official

Republican commentator Scott Jennings triggered the CNN panel on Thursday night’s edition of News Night with Abby Phillip when he brought up the use of the term “pregnant people” by a woke CDC official in his protest resignation letter this week.

Screen image posted by Scott Jennings with Dr. Chris Pernell.

The resignation letter posted Wednesday night by “Demetre C. Daskalakis MD MPH (he/his/him)” over the firing of CDC Director Susan Monarez reads in part:

“I am unable to serve in an environment that treats CDC as a tool to generate policies and materials that do not reflect scientific reality and are designed to hurt rather than to improve the public’s health. The recent change in the adult and children’s immunization schedule threaten the lives of the youngest Americans and pregnant people.”

Jennings used the letter as an example of politicized science at the CDC, “Call me crazy, but if you tell me men can get pregnant, you have ZERO credibility with me on anything to do with health. Why would I listen to a word you say if you fail basic biology? Once again, I find myself being screamed at for taking the top side of a 97-3 issue”

CNN transcript excerpt:

JENNINGS: The criticisms from this person, I just — I just have to say he did use the term pregnant people in his resume.

PERNELL: Oh, come on, come on. That’s a ruse.

(CROSSTALK)

JENNINGS: I’m sorry, if that is like the way you’re — if that is like the way you’re presenting information —

(CROSSTALK)

PHILLIP: Hold on.

(CROSSTALK)

PERNELL: That’s a ruse.

(CROSSTALK)

JENNINGS: I have questions about your credibility.

(CROSSTALK)

PHILLIP: Is that — Scott — it’s like, it’s so amazing —

(CROSSTALK)

JENNINGS: It’s not a ruse. He really wrote it down.

(CROSSTALK)

PERNELL: It’s a ruse because people have —

(CROSSTALK)

PHILLIP: We are talking — we are talking about —

(CROSSTALK)

JENNINGS: This guy’s not credible to me. That’s all I’m telling you.

(CROSSTALK)

PHILLIP: Scott, are you serious?

PERNELL: Come on.

JENNINGS: That he is not credible —

PHILLIP: No, no. Are you serious that this is — that of all the things that we’re talking about here — immunizations, vaccines, autism —

(CROSSTALK)

PHILLIP: — research about — on communicable diseases, on cancer, and you are the most concerned about someone’s use of the word people.

JENNINGS: Yeah, because —

(CROSSTALK)

PHILLIP: That’s the most important thing to you?

JENNINGS: — because you were just complaining about the politicization of science —

(CROSSTALK)

PERNELL: That’s not politicization. That’s not —

(CROSSTALK) JENNINGS: — and I can’t think of — I can’t think of politicization of science more than that.

(CROSSTALK)

PERNELL: That’s not politicization. Come on, Scott.

(CROSSTALK)

JENNINGS: Or what some of these people said to the American people during COVID.

(CROSSTALK)

PERNELL: Come on.

JENNINGS: The credibility of some of these folks who are complaining — look.

PHILLIP: Okay so —

(CROSSTALK)

PERNELL: Well, well, I’m complaining and I’m public health and preventive medicine physician.

SKIP

(CROSSTALK)

JENNINGS: You realize that you’re accepting some politicization of science but not others, right?

(CROSSTALK)

PERNELL: What’s the politicization of science that’s been accepted?

(CROSSTALK)

PHILLIP: What is the — what is the politicization of science?

JENNINGS: Can men get pregnant or not?

PHILLIP: Scott —

PERNELL: Scott, we’re talking about — we’re talking about —

(CROSSTALK)

JENNINGS: If you’re in the CDC and you believe that, I’m saying —

(CROSSTALK)

PERNELL: — we’re talking about —

(CROSSTALK)

JENNINGS: — you’re not a very credible person.

(CROSSTALK)

PHILLIP: Listen —

(CROSSTALK)

PERNELL: The CDC —

(CROSSTALK)

PERNELL: — that is responsible for —

(CROSSTALK)

PHILLIP: Scott, Scott —

(CROSSTALK)

PERNELL: — the health and well-being of the nation.

(CROSSTALK)

PHILLIP: That has absolutely nothing to do with the conversation we are having.

Six minute video panel meltdown:

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt criticized Daskalakis at Thursday’s press briefing:

Daskalakis answered criticism of his use of the term “pregnant people” and pronouns in an appearance on CNN’s The Source with Kaitlin Collins:

Daskalakis: I very specifically use the term pregnant people, and very specifically added my pronouns at the end of my resignation letter to make the point that I am defying this terrible strategy at trying to erase people and not allowing them to express their identities. So I accept the note from the press secretary and counter that with I don’t care.

House Oversight Chairman Comer and Committee Members to Meet Privately With Jeffrey Epstein Survivors

The Jeffrey Epstein and the Ghislaine Maxwell prosecutions are under review by Comer’s Oversight Committee.

Oversight committee is doubling down on the Epstein investigation review.

The Chairman for the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Rep. James Comer, is set to meet privately with survivors of the late sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, as part of his ongoing review of the investigation.

The meetings are set to happen after Congress reconvenes from its five-week recess on Tuesday (September 2).

These meetings follow a series of subpoenas issued by the Committee to access documents related to Epstein’s federal sex-trafficking investigation.

These moves include a recent subpoena to Epstein’s estate for any documents or records tied to the disgraced financier’s sex trafficking ring.

Ghislaine Maxwell’s testimony to the Committee is expected soon.

Comer’s committee has faced pressure from Epstein’s victims, political actors and the public to release the files.

But the need to protect victims’ identities and sensitive child sexual abuse material is still being carefully weighed.

Washington Post reported (behind a paywall):

“The Committee intends to make these records public after thorough review to ensure any victims’ identification and child sexual abuse material are redacted.

[…] Comer, in a statement, said the committee’s goal is to ensure transparency while protecting the privacy of Epstein’s victims.”

The Oversight Committee’s other initiatives include a subpoena for Ghislaine Maxwell’s testimony, to be held after the Supreme Court examines her appeal against her prosecution and sentencing.

As Congress returns, Comer’s meeting with victims will be under the spotlight, as the Epstein saga continues to attract public scrutiny in the US.

“Epstein’s victims have been vocal in demanding the release of the documents, arguing that transparency is critical to understanding the full scope of Epstein’s crimes and any potential enablers.”

Ghislaine Maxwell jogs behind bars.

Forbes reported:

“The House Oversight Committee is conducting a broader investigation into Epstein’s alleged sex trafficking and sexual abuse of more than 100 women, which has so far included subpoenaing the Justice Department for its files on Epstein, subpoenaing Epstein’s estate and calling for a variety of former government officials to testify.

[…] Victims have also been particularly critical of the DOJ’s interview with Maxwell, accusing her of lying to prosecutors by denying she took part in Epstein’s abuse, and the government’s decision to transfer her to a facility with minimal security following her testimony.”

Democrat Governor Wes Moore CAVES to Trump Administration

Governor Moore participates in a fireside chat at the 2025 USBC National Conference by Polly Irungu at Historic Former BET Campus, 1900 W Place NE, Washington, DC 20018

Maryland Governor Wes Moore, a Democrat often described as a future presidential contender, just admitted what Democrats never like to say out loud: they can’t govern their own cities without federal support.

In a nationally televised interview, Moore declared he would “absolutely welcome federal support” to help clean up Baltimore.

That statement would never have been made if not for President Trump’s relentless pressure campaign exposing Democrat failures on crime.

For decades, Baltimore has been one of the worst-run cities in America, controlled entirely by Democrats. Between 2015 and 2022, the city averaged more than 300 murders per year, making it one of the deadliest big cities in the country.

In 2022, Baltimore’s homicide rate was 57 per 100,000 residents—higher than Chicago and nearly ten times the national average. Even with some recent declines, Baltimore still ranks among the most violent cities in America.

That record belongs to Democrats, not Republicans.

President Trump has made crime a centerpiece of his agenda and has forced Democrats to confront realities they would rather ignore.

Earlier this summer, Trump deployed the National Guard into Washington, D.C., after record levels of violent crime, arson, and carjackings.

Homicides in D.C. rose 35% in 2023 compared with the previous year, with nearly 950 carjackings.

Trump’s move sent a clear message: if Democrats refuse to enforce the law, Republicans will. Now he is threatening to do the same in Baltimore and Chicago.

WATCH: TEXAS Democrat INDICTED — STOLE Thousands from TAXPAYERS with SIBLINGS

Moore is already backpedaling. While attacking Trump for “scare tactics,” he simultaneously extended an invitation for Trump to walk the streets of Baltimore with him in September, an attempt to soften the criticism.

That invitation itself is proof that Moore knows Trump’s message resonates. Democrats cannot afford to be seen as indifferent to crime, especially as they try to hold on to working-class voters who live with the consequences of failed liberal policies every day.

The problems go beyond crime. The Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse in March 2024 created another test of leadership.

The bridge, which carried 11.3 million vehicles per year and supported a port that handles $80 billion in foreign trade, will cost an estimated $1.7 to $1.9 billion to rebuild.

Trump’s administration has raised serious questions about those cost projections, accusing Maryland Democrats of inflating figures to grab more federal money.

Moore wants Washington to write a blank check. Republicans are rightly demanding transparency and accountability before billions of taxpayer dollars are handed over to a state that has mismanaged its biggest city for decades.

Moore’s personal credibility is also under fire. Fox News host Will Cain recently pressed him on his military record, pointing to evidence that Moore falsely claimed he had received a Bronze Star years before it was actually awarded.

Cain said bluntly: “Governor, that’s stolen valor.”

Moore’s office dismissed the issue as an administrative mistake, but the controversy further undermines a politician Democrats are trying to present as their next Obama-style national figure.

Trump’s approach is simple: enforce the law, hold criminals accountable, and put the safety of law-abiding citizens ahead of political correctness.

Moore wanted to be seen as a leading Democrat voice for 2028. Instead, he just gave Trump one of his biggest victories yet: a Democrat governor admitting that his state needs Washington’s help to deal with crime.

No Summer Vacation: President Trump Skipped Traditional August Break to Work on World Peace and Solving the Nation’s Problems, Will Remain at the White House for Labor Day Weekend

President Donald Trump is scheduled to remain at the White House this Labor Day Weekend, like he has for the entire month of August in a break from presidential tradition of extended vacations while Congress is out for its August recess and the nation’s capital turns into a hot, muggy swamp.

President Trump speaks at a rally in Latrobe, PA, October 19, 2024, photo by Kristinn Taylor.

Rancho del Cielo, Kennebunkport, Martha’s Vineyard, Crawford, Bedminster, Rehoboth Beach. Those are places that became familiar to Americans as annual summer vacation destinations for presidents in recent decades.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced earlier this month that Trump would be foregoing a planned summer vacation at his Bedminster, New Jersey golf property to stay at the White House to put in the hard work on a peace agreement in Russia’s war on Ukraine.

Excerpt from The Hill, published August 19:

President Trump canceled his August vacation to his Bedminster resort to work on talks to end the Ukraine-Russia war, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Tuesday.

Leavitt said Trump considered continuing peace talks while at his New Jersey golf resort but decided to stay at the White House instead.

“This is normally the time when the president goes on vacation, but not this president,” she said. “There [were] discussions about him working from Bedminster for a couple of weeks, but he decided against it.”

“He’s a man on a mission. He wants to move. Get things done quickly,” Leavitt added. “He wants to strike when the iron is hot.”

Trump has also focused on cleaning up the nation’s capital of crime and grime, ordering National Guard troops and federal agents to work with D.C. police and the U.S. Park Service to stop crime, remove homeless camps, scrub off graffiti and pick up trash to prepare the city for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence next year.

On Tuesday, Trump held a marathon three-hour-plus long cabinet meeting at the White House.

On Wednesday, Trump held a White House meeting on the Hamas-Israel war, (Axios excerpt):

The meeting President Trump convened on Wednesday to discuss a post-war plan for Gaza involved two high-profile invited guests, Jared Kushner and Tony Blair, and an unexpected third one: Israeli official Ron Dermer.

Why it matters: Dermer told the assembled senior officials that Israel doesn’t want to occupy Gaza long-term, but needs an acceptable alternative to Hamas to govern the enclave. Kushner and Blair got Trump’s blessing to keep developing such a plan, but right now they don’t have an answer as to who would take over.

Behind the scenes: Wednesday’s meeting lasted over an hour, with Vice President Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, special envoy Steve Witkoff and several other senior administration officials in the room.

Trump is also firing officials for cause this month, most notably Federal Reserve Board of Governors member Lisa Cook and CDC Director Susan Monarez.

The Washington Times reported Trump even cancelled a planned short Labor Day Weekend getaway to Bedminster to remain at the White House (excerpt):

This year he’s passing over the traditional presidential summer vacation to focus on securing peace between Ukraine and Russia.

Typically, presidents head out of Washington around Labor Day to grab rest and relaxation away from the stress and daily grind of the White House. However, Mr. Trump canceled his plans to spend the final two weeks in August at his Bedminster, New Jersey, resort.

Instead, Mr. Trump will stay at the White House this weekend, scrapping his earlier plans to leave for Bedminster on Saturday and come back on Monday.

The U.S. has massed naval forces off the coast of Venezuela in recent weeks after declaring the Maduro government a narco-terrorist regime (excerpt):

After initially offering a reward offer of up to $15 million for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of Maduro in 2020, the Department of State on January 10, 2025, increased the reward offer to up to $25 million. On August 7, 2025, the Department announced the further increase in the reward offer to up to $50 million after the Department of Treasury sanctioned Cartel of the Suns as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist on July 25, 2025. As leader of Cartel of the Suns, Maduro is the first target in the history of the Narcotics Rewards Program with a reward offer exceeding $25 million.

There is no indication of imminent military action to capture Maduro.

Trump is not a hermit at the White House on the weekends when he stays there, usually heading out on Saturday and Sunday mornings to his nearby golf club in Northern Virginia and returning in the afternoon after golf and relaxation.

Pool video from August 17:

Trump has worked harder in the first year of his second term than any president in recent memory. Whether it is world peace and diplomacy, jobs and the the economy, health, crime, transportation, space flight, the arts, reforming government, strengthening the military, cutting taxes, lowering egg prices, increasing energy supplies, returning manufacturing back home or making improvements to the White House, Trump does not not stop. Not even for an August vacation.

$312 Billion in Chinese Money Laundering Networks Is Driving the Drug Crisis and Human Trafficking in the US

Chinese leader Xi Jinping. Photo courtesy of the Ministry of Justice of the People’s Republic of China.

The Treasury Department has confirmed a national security and public safety disaster: Chinese money-laundering networks have pushed more than $312 billion in illicit transactions through U.S. financial institutions in recent years.

That money financed Mexican drug cartels, enabled human traffickers, and supported organized criminal networks that have left tens of thousands of Americans dead from fentanyl overdoses and other cartel-driven violence.

According to FINCEN.gov, financial institutions filed 1,675 BSA reports in the dataset indicating suspicious activity potentially involving human trafficking or human smuggling.

FINCEN.gov also discovered funds potentially associated with healthcare fraud, elder abuse, and suspicious gaming activity.

What makes these Chinese Money Laundering Networks (CMLNs) especially dangerous is their coordination with Mexico’s most violent cartels, including the Sinaloa and Jalisco New Generation organizations.

Mexico’s strict limits on U.S. dollar deposits force cartels to look abroad, while China’s own capital controls make moving money out of the country nearly impossible through legal channels.

Criminals found the perfect solution: CMLNs convert cartel drug profits in dollars into Chinese renminbi and then cycle those funds back into the U.S. banking system.

The cartels get clean money. China’s elites get access to American assets. And Americans pay the price in drug overdoses, gang violence, and financial corruption.

Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) documented 137,153 suspicious activity reports between 2020 and 2024 linked directly to CMLNs.

These reports describe methods ranging from mirror transactions and trade-based laundering to the use of so-called “money mules.”

Students, retirees, and homemakers with little or no income were recruited to make large deposits that far exceeded their financial profiles. This layering of ordinary citizens into billion-dollar schemes makes detection more difficult and gives cartels longer lifelines.

FinCEN also found $53.7 billion in suspicious real estate transactions, much of it in major cities where foreign buyers already distort housing markets.

Another $766 million was tied to adult day-care centers in New York, which investigators believe could be linked to healthcare fraud, elder abuse, and even human trafficking.

More than 1,600 cases pointed to human smuggling and trafficking operations, while another 108 cases were tied directly to elder abuse and Medicare fraud.

Thankfully, the Trump Administration is right to treat this as both a law enforcement issue and a national security issue.

Fentanyl overdoses now kill more than 70,000 Americans each year—more than died in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan combined.

Every dollar cartels launder through U.S. banks is another dollar used to poison our communities, exploit children, and destabilize neighborhoods.

This should not be a partisan matter, but Democrats have shown more interest in protecting bureaucratic regulators than in dismantling the international financial pipelines that keep cartels alive.

America’s banks must never be safe havens for Chinese criminals and Mexican cartels. This is a test of national will, and Republicans are the only ones treating it with the urgency it deserves.

Exclusive: Letitia James Caught Harboring Fugitive! — Jailbird Niece is Hiding Out in Letitia’s “Primary Residence” Mortgage Fraud Home in Virginia

Guest post by Joel Gilbert

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is actively searching for Nikia Monique Thompson, the fugitive daughter of New York Attorney General Letitia James’s niece.

Screenshot: NC Department of Adult Correction

Thompson, listed as an “Absconder” (offender number 0898340) on the department’s official site, is wanted for violating probation terms. North Carolina authorities are urging anyone with knowledge of her whereabouts to call their tip line at 1-888-646-0024.

Where is Nikia Monique Thompson hiding? All indications, including from Letitia James herself, are that Thompson is hiding out at Letitia’s “mortgage fraud” home in Norfolk, Virgina.

This means that Letitia James herself could be charged with harboring a fugitive. And, because it involves interstate flight, James could be subject to federal harboring law which carries up to 5 years in prison.

As detailed on Sam Antar’s White Collar Fraud website, Letitia James co-signed for a mortgage for a property located at 604 Sterling Street in Norfolk, Virginia, alongside her niece, Shamice Thompson-Hairston in August 2023.

Despite being a permanent resident of Brooklyn and New York State Attorney General, as part of this transaction, James executed a notarized Power of Attorney (POA) which included a sworn declaration stating, “I hereby declare that I intend to occupy this property as my principal residence.”

William Pulte, Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, cited this declaration in an April 14, 2025, letter to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, alleging that James may have falsified bank documents and property records to acquire government-backed loans with more favorable terms, since her “primary residence” declaration was instrumental in securing lower mortgage rates.

In addition, James’s 2011 HAMP loan that I covered in The Gateway Pundit was also cited by Pulte for investigation.

On May 21, 2025 while speaking before the Association for a Better New York, Letitia James attempted to deflect the growing controversy over her criminal referral to the DOJ by claiming her motives were purely familial.

“In reality, the power of attorney was never used to determine my eligibility for a mortgage for my niece for a home in the state of Virginia,” James said. “My niece has children, and because I’m a good aunt, I wanted her to have a home.”

But as I detailed in The Gateway Pundit in Crime Runs in the Family! Letitia James Buys Home for Niece’s Jailbird Adult Kids, James’s explanation, that she is a “good aunt” merely helping her niece and her children, was misleading. The “children” whom James’s statement implied were minors, are both adults, and both have significant criminal histories.

Nakia Monique Thompson has a criminal record spanning 20 years in the states of Virginia and North Carolina, and include multiple convictions for contributing to delinquency of a minor, abuse of child, possession of burglary tools, third degree larceny, assault and battery,  trespassing, shoplifting, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana, driving with a suspended license, and even malicious conduct while incarcerated.

Her persistent criminal activity underscores the seriousness of James’s role in providing Thompson with a hide out while on the run from North Carolina authorities.

How close are Letitia James and Nikia Monique Thompson? On Thompson’s LinkedIn page she writes “Been working with Ms James for years from council member to Public advocate to Attorney General”.

Screenshot: LinkedIn

She even listed employment with Elect Letitia James for Attorney General during the 2018 campaign, and work with the Brooklyn Board of Elections between 2013 and 2016.

Today, Thompson’s Facebook page indicates that she is living comfortably in Jame’s Norfolk, Virginia in the home. What does Virginia law say about harboring someone wanted from another state for probation absconding?

Under VA Code § 18.2-472, if someone escapes from custody and you harbor them, you can be charged. Harboring in Virginia could make you an accessory after the fact. The penalty for Letitia James would qualify as a Class 1 misdemeanor, with a punishment of up to 12 months jail and a $2,500 fine.

Even more serious, because Nikia Monique Thompson’s case involves interstate flight, under 18 U.S.C. § 1073 (Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution or Confinement), harboring someone who fled across state lines to avoid justice could trigger federal charges against Letitia James. Federal harboring law carries up to 5 years in prison.

As New York’s chief law enforcement officer, Letitia James cannot claim ignorance or excuse when it comes to harboring a fugitive in her Virginia residence.

The appointment of Special Prosecutor Ed Martin by President Trump underscores the seriousness of the ongoing investigation into her mortgage fraud. Martin has already advised her counsel, Abbe Lowell, that resignation is the most prudent course of action.

Now, with credible evidence suggesting that James is sheltering her fugitive niece, the matter has escalated beyond financial misconduct into direct violations of both state and federal law. Harboring a fugitive is not a family favor, it is a crime. And, mortgage fraud is not a clerical error, it is a fraud against banks and taxpayers.

If James truly believes her own standards, that “we all must play by the same rules” and that “no one is above the law”, then she should prove it by resigning immediately, before prosecutors drag her into court.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST EXPOSED: Corrupt Judge Jia Cobb Who Blocked Trump’s Mass Deportations and Now Oversees Federal Reserve Mortgage Fraudster Lisa Cook Revealed as SORORITY SISTER!

You can’t make this up.

On Friday morning, embattled Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook, recently fired by President Trump over allegations of fraud and misconduct, appeared in federal court to challenge her dismissal.

The case was heard by none other than Judge Jia Cobb, a radical Biden-appointed judge already notorious for shamelessly blocking Trump’s lawful mass deportation orders.

It can be recalled that US District Judge Jia Cobb called President Trump’s expedited removal of illegal aliens from the interior of the US a “skimpy process.”

“The procedures the government currently uses in expedited removal, however, create a significant risk that it will not identify these disqualifying criteria before quickly ordering someone removed. And the lack of available review means that once the removal happens, it is largely too late to correct the error,” Judge Cobb wrote in a 48-page opinion on Friday.

The Gateway Pundit reported on Friday morning that Judge Cobb wasted no time holding an emergency hearing that dragged on for over two hours. Attorneys for Lisa Cook and the DOJ clashed as they desperately tried to salvage her cushy position on the Federal Reserve Board.

Cook’s high-powered lawyer, Abbe Lowell, the same guy who’s been defending Hunter Biden in his scandals, went full attack mode on President Trump, whining that the Commander-in-Chief makes his orders and policies via “tweets.”

During the hearing, Judge Cobb openly cast doubt on Trump’s executive order firing Cook, but she stopped short of issuing a ruling. Court will resume next Tuesday.

Lisa Cook, fired by Trump this week for alleged mortgage and financial misconduct, is suing to keep her cushy Federal Reserve seat. The lawsuit should have been randomly assigned.

But in a shocking twist, the case landed before Judge Cobb, who just so happens to be Cook’s sorority sister in Delta Sigma Theta.

Judge Jia Cobb confirmed in her official Senate Judiciary Committee Questionnaire for Judicial Nominees that she is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

  • In her Honors and Awards section, she listed:
“Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., National Collegiate Member of the Year (2002)”

  • In her Memberships section, she further disclosed:
“Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (2002 – present) — Member (currently inactive)”

The sisterhood also openly celebrated Lisa Cook’s confirmation in 2022, calling it a “historic moment” and bragging about her role in shaping American monetary policy.

On May 22, Delta Sigma Theta congratulated Cook on social media and tied her legacy to the organization’s century-long political influence.

The sorority wrote on their Facebook account:

“Congratulations to Soror Lisa D. Cook on being confirmed to serve on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. This historic moment marks the first time in the Federal Reserve’s 109-year history that a Black woman was nominated and confirmed to serve on the powerful board of governors.

Dr. Cook is a macroeconomist and professor of economics and international relations at Michigan State University. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, Indianapolis’s Federal Home Loan Bank, and Rende Progress Capital Community Development Financial Institution. Dr. Cook has previously worked for the Council of Economic Advisers, the Treasury Department, the World Bank, and several financial institutions. By assuming this role, Dr. Cook follows in the footsteps of Delta Sigma Theta’s 1st National President Sadie T.M. Alexander.

Soror Cook was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta at the Eta Kappa Chapter at Spelman College, where she was in the Honors Program and graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Philosophy. Additionally, she received her Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley. Soror Cook is a Diamond Life Member and member of the Eastern Region.

Join us in congratulating Dr. Lisa Cook! We wish her all the best as she makes monetary policy to empower the American people.”

Even more telling, the sorority doubled down again this week, releasing a glowing statement defending Cook and blasting Trump for daring to remove her.

The group declared that undermining Cook was a “threat to the independence of the Federal Reserve” and accused critics of trying to “silence Black women.”

The group wrote on their Instagram account:

“Dr. Lisa D. Cook was vetted, confirmed, and is uniquely qualified to serve on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. Undermining her role is not just about one individual — it is a threat to the independence of the Federal Reserve and carries grave economic implications for families and communities. We also see a troubling pattern of efforts to discredit leaders and experts who are eminently qualified and prepared to lead and to serve. As a women’s organization — and a champion of justice, scholarship, service, and economic development for 112 years — Delta Sigma Theta unequivocally opposes any measures that silence Black women, whose voices and leadership remain vital to the progress of our nation.”

A sitting U.S. President fires a Fed Governor for fraud, and the case magically lands before a judge who’s her literal sister in arms. If conflicts of interest this blatant are allowed to stand, the law itself becomes nothing more than theater—a farce designed to protect the elite while screwing over everyday Americans.

Portugal’s President Mocks ‘Supreme Leader’ Trump — Then Brands Him a ‘Russian Agent’ (VIDEO)

The president of Portugal needs some lessons in diplomacy.

President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who represents the Social Democratic Party, made the comments during a recent speech.

“The supreme leader of the world’s largest superpower is objectively a Soviet or Russian asset,” he declared.

“I am saying that, objectively, the new U.S. leadership has strategically favored the Russian Federation,” he continued.

De Sousa added that the U.S. administration “gone from being allies on one side to acting as referees in the conflict,” arguing that Trump only wishes to negotiate “with one of the teams.”

Although the Portuguese presidency is mostly ceremonial, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa has often used the office to inject himself into international debates.

A longtime television pundit turned politician, he has been in office since 2016. His reputation has suffered after being embroiled in various corruption scandals.

In Portugal, real executive power rests with the government led by Prime Minister Luís Montenegro of the Democratic Alliance (PSD-CDS coalition).

Since June 2025, he has headed a minority cabinet after winning the most seats in the May snap election but falling short of a majority. Montenegro and its ministers, not the president, direct day-to-day policy and foreign affairs.

However, the only real conservative force in Portugal comes from the Chega party, which is now the country’s main opposition. They control 60 out of the 230 seats in the country’s National Assembly.

The party has campaigned on a variety of conservative proposals, including hard-line law-and-order policies, strict immigration limits, and sweeping constitutional reform.

They have also called for life sentences and chemical castration for offenders, drastic cuts to government spending, and embracing a policy of free-market economics.
