The United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Friday rejected President Trump’s authority to impose sweeping tariffs in a 7-4 decision.

“The Government appeals a decision of the Court of International Trade setting aside five Executive Orders that imposed tariffs of unlimited duration on nearly all goods from nearly every country in the world, holding that the tariffs were not authorized by the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), 50 U.S.C. § 1701 et seq. Because we agree that IEEPA’s grant of presidential authority to “regulate” imports does not authorize the tariffs imposed by the Executive Orders, we affirm,” the Federal Appeals Court said.

A court battle over President Trump’s tariffs is playing out in a district court and the Court of International Trade.

In May, The Court of International Trade in New York said President Trump exceeded his authority to impose tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act of 1977 (IEEPA).

“The order halts Trump’s 30% tariffs on China, his 25% tariffs on some goods imported from Mexico and Canada, and the 10% universal tariffs on most goods coming into the United States. It does not, however, affect the 25% tariffs on autos, auto parts, steel or aluminum, which were subject to Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act – a different law than the one Trump cited for his broader trade actions,” CNN reported earlier this year.

Earlier this year the federal appeals court temporarily reinstated President Trump’s tariffs after the Court of International Trade in New York said President Trump exceeded his authority to impose tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act of 1977 (IEEPA).

However, after further consideration, the same federal appeals court in June ruled that President Trump’s sweeping tariffs could remain in effect while the Trump Administration mounted a legal challenge.

The federal Circuit Court heard arguments on the case on July 31 and the tariffs remained in effect until Friday’s decision.

President Trump responded in a Truth Social post.

An American hero performed another act of service by utterly destroying far-left Fox News hack Jessica Tarlov so thoroughly on Thursday while speaking about the Minneapolis Catholic School Shooting and guns that all she could manage was a cheap shot at the end.

As The Gateway Pundit’s Jordan Conradson reported, a shooting occurred Wednesday morning at Minneapolis, Minnesota’s Annunciation Church and Catholic School.

According to reports, students were attending an all-school mass on Wednesday morning when the gunfire started. Two children were killed, and 14 were injured, while three adults were also wounded.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara confirmed that the shooter, who died of a self-inflicted wound, was a male in his early 20s. He has been identified as Robin Westman, a deranged transgender leftist who wrote “kill Donald Trump” on one of his firearms.

A manifesto also emerged following the shooting, which was primarily written in Russian for some reason. It revealed Westman’s hatred for not only Trump but Christians as well. He also praised previous school serial killers and expressed regret for transitioning.

Of course, Tarlov, like the rest of her fellow leftists, decided to make the evil crime all about guns, especially AR-15s. But Joey Jones, a Fox News contributor and Marine Corps veteran who lost both of his legs in Afghanistan, delivered an epic takedown of this garbage argument based on hard facts.

In the end, a defeated Tarlov could only manage a nasty shot at Jones’s disability. How disgusting.

In DC, 250 child deaths from handguns since 1999. In that same period time, less than 200 children died in what we call a mass shooting and not all of those were from an AR.

I bring this up beucase Democrats are 100% not concerned at all about saving the lives children because if you are, you’re going to President Trump and begging him to please bring the National Guard to Chicago.

Because of DC vs Heller and the Brune rule, handguns are the most contituionally protected guns out there. Democrats can’t go after them so they’re going after the 5% of guns used in 4% of homicides because that’s the political win (for them)!

The actual win is what President Trump is doing in DC right now. The actual win is mandating fortification of our most precious individuals in this country.

The left’s favorite utopian scheme is hitting a wall of reality. Universal Basic Income (UBI) programs, long promoted by progressives and Silicon Valley billionaires as a silver-bullet solution to poverty, are failing spectacularly, and even their own supporters are being forced to admit it.

Put simply: studies consistently show if government pays people to do nothing, they end up choosing to then do nothing, and the free money does not increase their quality of life.

According to reporting by Kelsey Piper highlighted by The Argument and summarized on Substack by S. T. Karnick, multiple gold-standard scientific studies, randomized, controlled, and large enough to remove doubt, show that UBI simply does not work.

Piper argues, “Homeless people, new mothers and low-income Americans all over the country received thousands of dollars. And it’s practically invisible in the data. On so many important metrics, these people are statistically indistinguishable from those who did not receive this aid.”

The Political Push for UBI
The idea of simply cutting everyone a government check has been pushed into the mainstream over the last decade. Former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang made UBI the centerpiece of his 2020 campaign, calling it the “Freedom Dividend” and promising $1,000 per month for every American adult. Members of the progressive wing of Congress, such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib, have floated pilot programs or endorsed the idea in principle.

On the tech side, billionaires Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jack Dorsey have all spoken favorably of UBI as a way to deal with automation or as a supposed social safety net of the future. Their backing gave the movement a cultural megaphone.

Musk has said that the technological benefits of the “A.I. revolution” will guarantee the public “universal high income.”

Other than small, local, pilot programs testing UBI, most governments have not yet adopted it on a wider basis. The ruling party in South Africa, the Communist-linked African National Congress or “ANC,” which is alleged to be pushing an ongoing genocide against the white minority in the country, is proposing to convert its COVID social relief grants into a full UBI within two years. If successful, it could mark the first national-scale adoption of UBI.

Vox has said UBI is ‘not radical’ and, despite what the science shows, says people would be ‘better off’ and the only consequence would be ‘less poverty and higher taxes.’ Vox discusses this left-wing fantasy as a permanent solution to poverty simply held up by privileged rich people who don’t want to pay higher taxes.

Left-wing groups have said efforts to ban UBI payments ‘undermine American values’ and falsely claim every study validates their conclusion that handing out money to the poor with no strings attached, results in better policy outcomes.

Far-left political figures like former President Barack Obama, former Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers, and former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, have complained about the potential cost of UBI policies, saying that they do not solve enough of the problem to justify their costs.

Noted Economist Thomas Sowell, in interviews, has also warned that UBI programs that promise to replace the onerous costs of administering the welfare state, will, in fact, never be removed. Instead, he warns, UBI will simply end up as another program in addition to all the others.

Yet the Results as Studied: Failure Across the Board
In trials and studies, recipients were given thousands of dollars in U.S. trials. The hope was that this free money would cause their lives to improve and their measurable life’s quality to increase. But the data is crystal clear that it did not work:

• No improvements in mental health or stress levels
• No gains in physical health or sleep
• No better education, jobs, or child development outcomes
• No increase in overall life satisfaction

At best, participants worked a little less, but that did not make them any happier. Early stress relief from the cash vanished quickly.

Studies from last year have also shown, in Western countries, that such programs even when well-administered, lead to a reduction in the labor force participation rate. The reduction in work typically correlated with the amount they were being given by the government, meaning that when participants were given $500 from the government, they reduced their working hours so that they typically earned $400 less, netting an average of $100 in greater net wealth.

Media Cover-Up
The most shocking part is not just the failure of UBI, but the media’s coordinated effort to hide its failures. As Karnick notes, these damning results are consistently obscured by journalists and activist researchers desperate to salvage their ideological dream. Press releases spin “tiny positives” while ignoring the overwhelming null results.

Take Denver’s Basic Income Project. Reports boasted of “significant improvements in housing outcomes.” In reality, homeless people receiving $1,000 a month were barely more likely to find housing than the control group.

A Noble Lie
Karnick quotes study author Sarah Miller, who admitted that when the results are disappointing, reporters are not eager to cover them. “People aren’t interested in reading null results,” she said. This leads to what Piper, the analyst cited in the piece, calls “noble lies,” a culture where the media deliberately conceals reality to protect progressive narratives.

Defenders of UBI are now trying to shift the proposals away from wide-implementation, and, instead, focus on smaller societal segments such as pregnant women, domestic violence survivors, or people recently released from prison.

UBI proponents are also now trying to say that the policy works in poor countries, but that rich countries have ‘complex’ problems that money alone cannot solve.

The evidence shows UBI does not deliver on its promises. It does not improve lives, it does not fix poverty, and it does not justify the trillions of dollars in redistributive spending that Democrats and their allies in Big Tech dream of funneling into such schemes.

As Karnick concludes, the honest approach is to let the truth come out, however uncomfortable it may be: simply giving money to the poor will not make them rich.

In a 2-1 decision against “voter assistance” organizations, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals has overturned an October 2024 district court’s decision that would have gutted Texas’s Senate Bill 1.

The bill was passed following the 2020 Presidential election and implemented new restrictions and requirements, mainly for mail-in voting.  For example, the bill banned drive-thru and 24-hour voting centers and set acceptable hours for early voting centers, which were challenged in the lawsuit.

Among other provisions that were challenged were the criminalization of compensated mail-in ballot assistance and banning certain canvassing activities, such as canvassing a voter while in possession of a mail-in ballot.

The law also required a voter to provide matching ID numbers on mail-in ballot applications and returned ballots.

It also made it a felony for election officials to send out mail-in ballot applications without them first being requested.

The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals panel stated:

Several voter-assistance organizations claimed those provisions are preempted by Section 208 of the Voting Rights Act…The district court agreed and permanently enjoined the challenged provisions.

We reverse.

Some of the challenged provisions require assistors to disclose information such as name, address, relationship to the voter, and whether they are compensated.  Another amends the existing oath assistors must take.  Contrary to the district court’s ruling, we conclude that none of the plaintiff organizations has standing to challenge these provisions.  In particular, fears that their members will be prosecuted for violating them are speculative and so fail to show Article III injury.

While those issues were dismissed on standing, other issues were dismissed on the merits, finding that Section 208 did not preempt these state election laws.  The Court writes:

Other challenged provisions bar assistance from persons who are compensated or are paid ballot harvesters.  The district court correctly ruled that two of the plaintiff organizations have standing…because there is a credible threat that their members will be prosecuted for violating them.  So, we address whether those provisions are preempted by VRA Section 208.

They are not.  Nothing in Section 208 shows that Congress wanted to preempt state election laws like these.  To be sure, the federal law is an important one – guaranteeing blind, disabled, and illiterate voters assistance from “a person of [their] choice,” with certain exceptions.  Contrary to the district court’s ruling, though, this federal right does not vaporize all additional state voter assistance regulations.

Regarding the oaths that assistors must take, the Texas legislature added “I swear under penalty of perjury that the voter I am assisting represented to me they are eligible to receive assistance…”  It also added the oath that they will not “pressure or coerce the voter into choosing me to provide assistance.”  Lastly, it added that the assistor must swear not to disclose how the voter has voted and that if they provide assistance to an ineligible voter, the vote may not be counted.

It also made violations of that oath punishable by up to two years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine, and/or a rejection of the voter’s ballot.  The block on both the added text and criminal sanctions was overturned.

In October 2024, the same appellate court had issued a temporary injunction against the district court’s ruling, citing that the ruling came in the middle of an election when mail-in ballots had already been mailed out.

A federal appeals court on Friday blocked the Trump Administration from ending protections for 600,000 Venezuelans.

The three-judge panel on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals included: Judge Kim McLane Wardlaw (Clinton), Judge Salvador Mendoza Jr. (Obama), and Judge Anthony Johnstone (Biden).

Earlier this year, an Obama-appointed judge in San Francisco ruled in favor of the plaintiffs and ordered a freeze on ending the protections.

The appeals court judges upheld the lower court’s decision to give 600,000 Venezuelans ‘Temporary Protected Status’ (TPS).

“In the TPS context, Plaintiffs are likely to succeed in their claim that Congress has displaced any inherent revocation authority by explicitly providing the procedure by which a TPS designation is terminated,” they wrote.

CBS News reported:

A federal appeals court on Friday blocked the Trump administration’s plans to end protections for 600,000 people from Venezuela who have had permission to live and work in the United States.

A three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in California upheld a lower court ruling that maintained temporary protected status, or TPS, for Venezuelans while the case proceeded through court.

An email to the Department of Homeland Security for comment was not immediately returned.

The 9th Circuit panel found that plaintiffs were likely to succeed on their claim that the department had no authority to vacate or set aside a prior TPS extension because the governing statute written by Congress does not permit for it.

“In enacting the TPS statute, Congress designed a system of temporary status that was predictable, dependable, and insulated from electoral politics,” the court wrote.

Several hundred CDC workers left work to protest outside of the CDC headquarters on Thursday to salute the top officials who resigned following the firing of the pro-vax CDC chief.

The protesters were sad to see this freak go who was hired as Monkey Pox czar by Joe Biden.

In 2025, HHS Senior Adviser Dr. Steven Hatfill revealed that RFK Jr. pulled mRNA vaccine funding after the data showed getting vaccinated was MORE dangerous than COVID itself.

Back in the early days of the COVID vaccine emergency we already knew the vaccines were dangerous and ineffective to the spread of the disease.

The VAERS data at the time revealed:

** 21,002 reported deaths from the COVID vaccine
** 110,609 reported hospitalizations
** 3,435 miscarriages
** 10,640 heart attacks
** 22, 117 developed myocarditis/pericarditis
** 35,650 permanently disabled
** 23,892 life threatening condition.

The number of deaths linked to the CDC-promoted vaccines has absolutely skyrocketed since 2022, according to the CDC’s own data.
In fact, the VAERS system was reporting so many deaths that the CDC made the results more difficult to find.

And yet, these fools protesting at the CDC on Thursday support these deadly vaccines!

Imagine this: you go to your doctor, and they give you ten minutes. You say, “Hey, Doc, I got a problem. How do I fix it?”

The doctor writes you a prescription, you take it to the pharmacy, and then you take that pill for life—until you die.

This is what most people experience when they see a doctor.

But RFK Jr. is changing that with a bold new vision to improve the doctor-patient relationship for good.

He announced that he’s leading a team at HHS to overhaul the medical education system and finally put a focus on what’s been ignored for too long—nutrition training.

 

“The leading cause of death in the United States is poor diet,” claiming 1 million American lives every year.

You’d think training doctors to help patients improve their habits would be a top priority. Sadly, it’s near the bottom.

In today’s corrupt system, “most medical students receive less than 20 hours of nutrition education over four years of medical school.”

That lack of focus, Kennedy says, is woefully inadequate—and he plans to fix it.

“We pour more than $4 trillion annually into treating these preventable diseases. And we continue to graduate physicians unprepared to confront their root cause,” Kennedy lamented.

“The good news,” he says, is that “diet not only causes these conditions, it can also PREVENT and REVERSE them.”

“We can reverse the chronic disease epidemic simply by changing our diets and lifestyles,” Kennedy declared.

Kennedy said in order to fix the problem, “We need nutrition to be a basic part of EVERY doctor’s training.”

So he’s proposing a move that directly threatens the “pill for every ill” approach to medicine that has devastated the health of Americans for decades.

Kennedy announced, “We’ll start by embedding nutrition directly into college pre-med programs and testing it on the MCAT.”

“Every future physician should master the language of prevention before they even touch a stethoscope,” he stressed.

Kennedy says that under President Trump’s leadership, this move will “systematically transform nutrition education throughout American medicine for more than 200 of America’s medical schools, 13,000 residency and fellowship programs, and ultimately each of the nation’s 1.1 million practicing physicians.”

“In the future, doctors won’t just prescribe drugs, they’ll be able to PRESCRIBE DIETS as well,” Kennedy explained.

“By confidently screening for diet-related diseases and collaborating with nutrition experts to recommend food-based solutions, our reforms will save our country hundreds of billions of dollars and prevent millions of debilitating chronic diseases.”

“This is an approach that is both radical and common sense,” Kennedy continued.

“We’re going to reconnect medicine with its roots. Hippocrates, the father of medicine, said, ‘Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.’ His advice remains true today.”

This is Big Pharma and Big Medicine’s worst nightmare. Healthy Americans mean less sickness to profit from.

And when doctors start prescribing diets that work instead of a pill for every ill, Big Pharma’s gravy train—and its influence on politics—starts going down in flames.

This is a huge move that anyone who cares about humanity can applaud and celebrate.

The Trump Administration is reportedly preparing to send federal agents and National Guard troops into Chicago as soon as next week, as he ramps up threats against leftist governors and mayors to replicate his takeover of Washington, DC.

Per the New York Times, 200 Homeland Security Officials will be deployed and housed at Naval Station Great Lakes near Chicago, potentially for the entire month of September.

The enforcement operations will be centered on arresting illegal aliens in the sanctuary state of Illinois, but the National Guard could be used to quell violent rioters, as done in Los Angeles, or to deter crime, as we are seeing in Washington, DC.

Trump deployed federal law enforcement, National Guard troops, and he federalized the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC, earlier this month. Over 1,300 criminals have been arrested, and the district has seen a sharp decline in crime, including a 30% reduction in violent crime and a 57% reduction in homicides.

The President said on Truth Social last night that carjacking is down 87%. “DC will soon be a CRIME FREE ZONE, in only 14 days, far faster than scheduled,” he said.

Sources familiar with the Chicago plans told CNN that the President is going to move in on Chicago as soon as next week.

The President has recently spoken about potential plans to deploy the National Guard and federal forces in other cities, such as Baltimore, Chicago, New York, and San Francisco.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Trump told reporters on Friday, “I think Chicago will be our next, and then we’ll help with New York.” He added, “Now, you look at what the Democrats have done to San Francisco. They’ve destroyed it… We’ll clean that one up, too.”

Chicago was among the first cities targeted in immigration enforcement operations when Trump took office in January. The administration also sued the city over its so-called sanctuary policies, though the case was dismissed when a judge ruled the federal government lacked the legal standing to bring the challenge, and threatened to withhold federal funding, which was also blocked by a judge.

Now, the anticipated operations in Chicago are expected to be at a larger scale, using personnel from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Customs and Border Protection, and possibly other agencies. Officials are preparing the National Guard to help if a peacekeeping presence is needed, akin to what unfolded in Los Angeles following protests, the sources said.

Preparations for Chicago are already underway, including sending armored vehicles to the city in the coming days and surging federal agents by next Friday, Sept. 5, when, according to two sources, the operation is expected to kick off. Discussions, however, are still ongoing and planning is in flux.

White House officials have made clear that these plans are distinct from the idea the president has suggested over the past week to use federal law enforcement and National Guard troops to carry out a broader crime crackdown in Chicago, similar to the current surge in Washington, DC.

This comes after President Trump teased sending federal authorities into Chicago, telling America to “STAY TUNED!”

Per CBS, 6 people were killed and 27 were injured in shootings over the weekend. The victims’ age range reportedly 5 to 48 years old.
