While we, the American people, appreciate President Trump’s efforts to address unfair global trade practices, us patriots are deeply concerned that the Administration may be overlooking an unintended consequence that will infringe on our 2nd amendment. Many assume that tariffs on imported firearms won’t affect them, but that’s not the case. These tariffs are directly impacting American businesses and gun owners alike, as a significant portion of the firearm industry depends on essential imported parts that are assembled domestically.
The right to bear arms is one of the most important amendments in the U.S. Constitution, and we should not pick and choose which manufacturers Americans trust when it comes to protecting their homes and their ability to affordably exercise this right.
Firearms assembled in the United States from imported parts, along with imported firearms themselves, are a cornerstone of America’s national security and public safety. My favorite firearm, the Glock 19, are primarily assembled in Austria and are also a favorite choice for self defense amongst my colleagues. Additionally, these tools equip our law enforcement officers and military personnel with reliable, mission-ready firearms built to meet the uncompromising standards required on the front lines of defense and policing.
But this supply chain does more than safeguard our nation. It sustains thousands of American manufacturing jobs, drives innovation, and strengthens domestic industry. When tariffs inflate the cost of imported components, they don’t just raise prices, they directly threaten the affordability, availability, and quality of firearms assembled here at home.
Maintaining a strong, stable supply chain for firearms isn’t optional, it is a matter of national security, public safety, and American economic strength
From finished product to small components, firearm companies often source critical pieces from overseas suppliers. This isn’t about cutting corners; it’s about balancing supply chains and keeping costs manageable so American consumers can afford the final product. However, with tariffs driving up the price of these parts, manufacturers and firearm retailers are forced to absorb higher expenses—expenses that ultimately get passed down to the American gun-owner.
That means even when you’re proudly buying a firearm at your local mom-and-pop shop, you’re still feeling the impact of international trade policy. For the average working American, this translates to higher price tags on handguns, rifles, and shotguns that were once affordable options for personal protection, hunting, and recreational shooting.
Firearm tariffs create financial strain on manufacturers and reduce the affordability of firearms for everyday citizens. The wealthy won’t struggle to buy a gun, but middle- and working-class families may find it harder to exercise their constitutional right to defend themselves.
The truth is simple: tariffs on imported parts don’t just affect global companies—they hit gunmakers and their customers hardest. And once again, it’s the average Joe who pays the price.
The right to bear arms is arguably the most important amendment in the U.S. Constitution. Why are we taxing the one product that established this country? Why is the United States making the Second Amendment Unaffordable?
We need to seriously consider making firearms more affordable and not less in such a time as this.

There is an inevitable constant between the civil population and onerous tyrants. A friend’s required presence at a European State dinner provides an interesting point. The brutal sadistic despot and even cannibal Idi Amin Dada Oumee was visiting. The host spoke English.
Amin boisterously declared his proficiency in English having worked with Britian for decades. After the meal he stood intending to express his favor to the host’s good meal. Amin said, “I’m ‘fed up’ with this food.”
Properly used this metaphor describes how the populace becomes “fed up” with the shenanigans of evil. Even the evil Amin faced this inevitability. Amin personifies the inevitable end for politicians, rulers, and nations controlled by evil.
It only takes a “spark” to undo years of evil cunning. The “Manchurian” takes decades to embed but its exposure and elimination is quick. And the “end” is not good.
Invariably the populace becomes “fed up” with the foolishness of those trying to cram the unacceptable and unnatural down its throat!
The historical validation is endless. From all epochs, all continents, all languages, and all governing systems, the citizens become “fed up” and then a “spark” from the most innocuous event, ignites the simmering fury and “the hunters become hunted.”
The American Revolution officially began on in April of 1775 when the Colonial militia and British military exchanged gunfire for the first time during the Battles of Lexington and Concord.
The causes of the American Revolution are rooted in years of political intrigue, protest against governmental overreach, and social unrest.
In the simplest of terms, the American Revolution was the result of disagreement over how the Colonies should be governed. This tension grew to all-out war and born was the marvelous structure of our Representative Republic’s governing!
Just before the outbreak of the American Revolution, John Adams wrote: “Human nature itself is evermore an advocate for liberty. There is also in human nature a resentment of injury, and indignation against wrong…These amiable passions are the latent spark.”
The “spark” Adams references ignited a revolution. The Colonists believed they deserved basic human rights.
This expectation was supported by the 1215 Magna Carta stating that subjects of the Crown “should not be compelled to contribute to any tax, tallage, aid, or other like charge not set by common consent in Parliament.”
The unjust taxation became the “spark” igniting American resentment. Americans were “fed up” with the tyrannical intrusion into their daily life. The resentment was deep. The “spark” came when the citizens had enough!
The “sleeping tiger”
Attributed to Japan’s Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto is the quote, “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.” The factual foundation for this quote is suspect.
However, the reality expressed by this quote is unquestioned. Some suggest that Yamamoto believed that Pearl Harbor was a blunder strategically, morally, and politically. However, interpreted, Pearl Harbor was the “spark” inflaming Japan’s inevitable destruction. American were “fed up”!
The Bud-Lite Beer Fiasco
Among historic fails is the brainless marketing of Alissa Heinerscheid, vice president of marketing and her boss, Daniel Blake, group vice president for marketing. The effort was to recruit “new” customers.
The result disrespected the “old” customers. The “spark” was struck and disaster resulted. The product’s new target group was defined by the tyranny of DEI and ESG.
The announced partnership with the trans MALE Mulvaney (the absolute pronouns are He/His) was the “spark” igniting controversy. The loyal consumer was “fed up.”
Consider this quote, “I think that’s one of the most interesting parts about this story is that they lost 30% of their customers…Millions of customers, billions of dollars of shareholder value over the last couple of years.”
The Bullets for the Overlord’s Tyranny
This cunning manipulation irritates me the most. Innocent children are pawns furthering the propaganda of the Marxist/Lenin missionaries cloaked as “Politicians.”
The recent shooting in Minnesota is another tragedy used by evil to manipulate Americans. This was quickly seized by DC politicians advocating unconstitutional governance. These blithely ignore the real cause (their own progressive, ungodly agendas). Examples include Ilhan Omar, and Charles Schumer.
ALL DEMS and RINOS insensitively play the blame-game manipulating the murders of school children in order to support their desire for gun removal.
However, Americas are getting “fed up” with this constant messaging cramming unconstitutional tyranny down our throats.
The murderous act was a true hate crime. It is not some fictious story of a noose. “The alleged Minneapolis shooter displayed his hatred for Christianity in multiple ways, which included pinning a picture of Jesus on a body target and drawing himself talking to a ‘demon’ in the mirror.”
The abysmal failure of the previous Administrations and Congress and Judges, are urging Adams’ “spark” among the citizenry. BUT the Democrat Tyrants elected to Congress continue to “double-down.”
These same shrieking voices in Congress will not condemn the many hate crimes perpetrated against innocents but will fabricate hate crimes regarding opponents.
These same Tyrants relish the insane violence their progressive agendas nurture in adherents. Where are the DEMS and MSM announcing that these heinous actions are deliberately chosen to be in “no gun safe zones.”
The hypocrisy of politicians and media is nauseating. They will not reveal why the Second Amendment is so critical to our nation’s security.
They will not mention that the loudest voices clamoring for abolition of the second amendment have separated themselves from the consequences by having a strong security force protecting them!
AND they use tax dollars for their safety while using tax dollars to threaten, coerce and prosecute the law-abiding citizen following Constitutional Law.
Today’s POLS are guided by the old situational ethic of “the means justify the end”! The end is the outlawing and removal of personal arms so the State is in total control enabling the State to amass more riches at the expense of the citizen.
The “bullets” of the Progressives reminds me of the Bolsheviks in Russia 1917. The tyranny of Marxist/Leninism degrades human life to the level of “cannon fodder.”
The Rulers do not care about the ruled as long as they are used to serve the Elites’ fiendish purposes. An article titled, “Cannon fodder for the revolution: the Russian proletariat in 1917” details how the State used the common people for its devilish objectives.
The manipulations were “combined with skillful propaganda and large-scale, effective organizational work allowed the Bolsheviks to mobilize the proletariat to serve as the cannon fodder of the revolution and later the Civil War.”
Violence was the main element furthering the State’s evil. Casualties between 1918 and 1922 estimate a range of 14-21 million deaths! With an indifferent shrug these were sacrificed so the State’s objectives would be realized.
The article concludes, “As we can see, the proletariat’s suffering at the hands of the ‘revolutionary fever’ was especially great because they more than any other social group served as the battering ram for the achievement of the Bolsheviks’ political objectives.”
The troubling reality is that the evil manipulation and sacrifice of innocents by the Bolsheviks, is reflected in today’s politics in the USA! The innocents are sacrificed “as the battering ram for the achievement of political objectives.” America—are you “fed up” with this action by the political and judicial positions?
Whether it is 18th Century Russia or 21st Century Minnesota, you can boil down evil’s agents striving to achieve the same objective—elevate the State’s governing above the citizen’s inalienable rights!
When the citizens are “fed up,” a “spark” ignites the simmering resentment. At that point the ire of the citizenry demands accounting from and punishment for those who have wronged the nation!
Congress will be unable to “blue slip” accountability!
Adams was correct in the 1700’s and remains correct today, “There is also in human nature a resentment of injury, and indignation against wrong…These amiable passions are the latent spark.”
The Amazing Biscuit Blunder
The marketing blunder of Cracker Barrel’s CEO Julie Felss Masino and CMO Sarah Moore is known worldwide. I have received communication from Asia, Europe, South America, Central America and Australia expressing unbelief.
All ask, “What is CB doing? We ate there and loved what it was. Why change?” The explanation is they wanted to reach a “new consumer group” that identifies with DEI.
They celebrate PRIDE and want to cram it down customers throats. They thoughtlessly disrespect the loyalty of their historic consumer group. They want the “new” not the “traditional.” Ask Bud Light how the new target base consumer outreach works?
The “fed-up” have reached the “spark”
Here is an absolute, inescapable, inevitable truth…putting Uncle Herschel back at the barrel is a flippant band aid cure for the cancer in the organization.
Removing guns and erasing the Second Amendment rights will not stop the malignancy nurtured by the political progressives. Erasing the poster faces, on beer cans, applauding acts that are against nature will not soothe the incensed.
Adams was, and still is, correct in observing that Americans will tolerate evil for only so long and then a “spark” ignites the pent-up resentments. And that spark awakens the sleeping tiger.
An explosion reverberates throughout the nation demanding retribution for injuries sustained and expressing outrage demanding that wrongs be righted!
This is the historical cycle. Only the arrogant believe they are excused from their part in history’s cycle.
So, Politicians, whatever strip you are, Judiciary, regardless of your elevated self-importance, Bureaucrats, regardless of your ensconced positions, understand that ALL are on the verge of personally validating Adams’ point.
It takes only a spark from a biscuit, a bullet, or a beer to expose their self-serving arrogance and awaken the sleeping tiger.
Listen you Politicians! Take heed you Judges! Realize you Bureaucrats! Correction is possible and security can be restored. But! it requires true sincerity in confessing one’s role in evil and real change in actions.
A superficial response only aggravates the situation. Your trifling justice increases the coming destruction from the “spark.”
A long time ago, another nation was in peril of self-destruction. The remedy was available, but its flippant band aid cures did not work.
The cure was announced with conditions, “Return to Me with all your heart…and rend your heart and not your garments” (The Bible, the Prophet Joel 2:13). If the cancerous evil is to be remedied, the poison must be removed so the healthy can once again grow. Band aid responses only invite the “spark.”
Hesitancy to act only strengthens the malignancy. The longer evil is allowed to continue, the more destruction it accomplishes (See The Bible, Ecclesiastes 8:11). Do not be “kind” to evil.
The arrogance of those positioned in our Republic to Execute, Legislate and Judicate must be controlled. If it is not controlled, national erasure will occur.
A once great ancient nation dissolved into total erasure. What was the cause for erasure? The leaders became arrogant. The ego of its political leaders doomed the nation.
“Say to the leaders… because your heart is lifted up and you have said, ‘I am god, I sit in the seat of gods’…yet you are a man and not God…You have acquired riches for yourself and have acquired gold and silver for your treasuries…You have increased your riches, and your heart is haughty because of your riches you were internally filled with violence…you corrupted your wisdom by reason of your position… you will cease to be forever” (The Bible, the prophet Ezekiel 28).
Should the nation fail to remove evil, there is adjudication from an Authority that transcends mortal arrogance.
This Supreme Authority speaks today to those positioned in national matters, “I will not relent…I will not pity…I will not be sorry…according to your ways and according to your deeds I will judge you” (The Bible, the prophet Ezekiel 24).
The MSM, DEMS, RINOS and DEEP STATE BUREAUCRATS remain shell-shocked at the 2024 elections.
They were so blinded by egotism and secure in their assumed entitlement, they did not see how “fed up” Americans have become! Even today they are still blind to this fact. And that blindness leads only to the historical “spark” which Adams correctly noted.
Another apt warning to all seeking to undermine the Constitutional Law of our Representative Republic and to all seeking to betray the previous loyalty of customers in order to gain the unnatural “new” customer base, “Be afraid. Be VERY afraid!” The “spark” will soon strike.

Vice President JD Vance has taken a blistering shot at one of the White House’s most notorious rivals: the media.
On Friday, Politico released a critical report that took aim at one key member of President Donald Trump’s administration — and Vance wasn’t standing for it.
Alongside the blaring headline of “‘His inexperience shines through’: Steve Witkoff struggles to manage Russia as Trump peace envoy,” Politico spilled quite a bit of digital ink calling out the alleged inefficacy of Trump’s special envoy for Peace Missions.
Specifically, Politico’s Felicia Schwartz chronicled the struggles that Witkoff was purportedly having while trying to bring about an amicable end to the Russia-Ukraine war.
“Some frustrated U.S., Ukrainian and European officials say part of the problem is the go-it-alone style of Witkoff, Trump’s special envoy for peace missions and go-to negotiator on Ukraine,” Schwartz reports. “He has refused to consult with experts and allies, leaving him uninformed at times and unprepared at others, according to seven people familiar with internal discussions.”
The report added, “Two said he misses the mark by viewing the conflict through a real estate lens, like a land dispute.”
The vice president took to X shortly after the report’s publication and did not mince words when it came to what he thought of the Washington, D.C.-based outlet — and Schwartz.
“This story from Politico is journalistic malpractice,” Vance posted Friday. “But it’s more than that: it’s a foreign influence operation meant to hurt the administration and one of our most effective members.
“Notice how all of the people attacking Steve are on background? That means it’s two or three deep staters who are angry that Witkoff has succeeded where they’ve failed.
“You know what this ‘reporter’ left out to make room for anonymous quotes? The full quote from the sitting vice president, on the record. A quote from the secretary of the state, on the record. A quote from Jared Kushner, on the record.
“The full quote from the UK’s Jonathan Powell, one of the most respected national security people in the Western World, who defended Steve vigorously from these malicious smears.”

Vance then set his sights on Schwartz, and what exactly she was trying to accomplish with this “journalistic malpractice.”
“Aside from the failure to include on the record information directly contradicting her reporting, I wonder if she ever asked herself why these anonymous sources came to her at this moment with this particular story,” Vance continued.
“They have an agenda to blow up the president’s efforts to make peace, and they saw her as a useful vessel to launder garbage into the conversation, truth be damned.
“There are two possible explanations: Felicia is just not very smart, and allowed herself to be used by deep state con men. Or she’s in on it, and used her position to willingly participate in a literal foreign influence operation. Either way, it’s disgraceful.
“To set the record straight: Steve Witkoff is an invaluable member of our team. He did not mislead anyone on what the Russians told him and what the Russians conceded. (Trust me, I’ve seen the intel.) The fruits of his negotiations are that we have narrowed the list of open issues in the Russia-Ukraine war to a set of clearly defined issues–specifically, security guarantees and territorial concessions.
“Maybe we make peace, and maybe we don’t. If we do, it will be because Steve Witkoff and the President of the United States worked their tails off, in the face of outright lies from the mainstream press.”
It’s unclear if Schwartz has responded to these accusations against her.
This week, the dominoes began to fall at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Back in September 2023, the floundering Biden administration tapped Daskalakis—a self-proclaimed “trusted voice for the LGBTQ community”—to lead the White House’s national monkeypox response as Deputy Coordinator.
Fast-forward to Wednesday, and Daskalakis bolted from his role as Director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at the CDC.
His exit came mere hours after CDC Director Susan Monarez was unceremoniously ousted, and on the very day RFK Jr. announced sweeping reforms to dismantle the vaccine mandates that crippled our economy and freedoms.
RFK Jr., true to his word and President Trump’s “Make America Healthy Again” agenda, declared victory in fulfilling key promises:
“I promised 4 things:
to end covid vaccine mandates.
to keep vaccines available to people who want them, especially the vulnerable.
to demand placebo-controlled trials from companies.
to end the emergency.”
This decisive action was apparently too much for the deep-state holdovers like Daskalakis, who couldn’t stomach the truth finally seeing the light of day. In a rambling, pronoun-laden resignation letter (signed “he/him”), Daskalakis whined about “non-transparency” and “manipulation of data.”
But the true revelation came in a follow-up interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker, where Daskalakis let slip the “crux of his concern.”
Welker pressed him on RFK Jr.’s longstanding warnings about vaccine risks, including the debunked-by-establishment-but-never-truly-disproven link to autism.
Kristen Welker: “Well, to boil down what you’re saying: Secretary Kennedy has long pushed the disputed claim that there’s a link between vaccines for children and autism. This has been debunked by science for more than two decades now. Is that the crux of your concern? And is that the crux of the argument with Susan Monares—that there’s going to be an attempt to push that type of policy forward, an ideology forward?”
Demetre Daskalakis: “I mean, let’s make a list. The secretary went on a video and said that the mRNA vaccines didn’t do anything in the pandemic and are the most dangerous vaccines known to humanity. That’s wrong. That’s untrue. The vaccines for COVID helped end the pandemic, and their safety track record is strong.
There are safety issues—yes, people do have adverse events. There’s no such thing as a zero-risk vaccine, nor is there such a thing as a 100% effective vaccine. That’s number one.
We can also talk about the fact that I think we have signals that there’s going to be retrofitting of data—or analysis of data—that really isn’t based on any good scientific methods, and that’s going to come to a conclusion that something is causing autism as well as other diseases related to vaccines.
I think alum is going to be pointed at. That’s another part of the vaccine that makes sure it causes the immune system to react appropriately to protect people from the pathogen they’re being vaccinated against. They’re going to have a story about alum.
They already had a story about thimerosal that led to the removal of thimerosal from the 4% of influenza vaccines that had it.
That’s not a very big win. Based on science that is really debunked, the FDA website right now is very clear in showing that thimerosal—that preservative—does not have any adverse events associated with it, especially in the space of autism and other neurocognitive issues.
Nevertheless, because there’s a half-truth somewhere in there—that maybe it’s great to prevent people from being exposed to anything extra they don’t need—we get to the place where a hunch is enough to remove a vaccine from the market. That is not a good precedent.”

Shrewbury, Massachusetts father Kevin Doherty was shot and killed Thursday by Snehal Srivastava after he confronted the trans man who was spraying graffiti on a bridge – before 9 AM in the morning!
Doherty had just dropped his six-year-old so off at school when he saw Snehal spray-painting graffiti on the bridge near Jordan Pond.
The father of the young boy took pictures of the vandalism and an argument broke out. So, Doherty call 911 for assistance.
The 911 operator was on the phone with the father when shots were fired.
Snehal Srivastava shot the victim dead.
Snehal, who was born a man, currently used the name “Sasha”.

Democrat megadonors are contributing big money to push California Governor Gavin Newsom’s redistricting campaign.
The latest Democrat megadonor to support the redistricting campaign is Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings.
A new report by Politico has revealed that Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings has donated $2 million to Newsom’s plan to redraw congressional maps in California.
This isn’t the first time Hastings has backed Newsom financially.
In 2021, Hastings dropped $3 million to help Newsom win a recall attempt.
Netflix co-founder and Democratic megadonor Reed Hastings has given $2 million to help California redraw its House maps in the latest indication of the campaign’s outsize stakes.
Hastings is a stalwart supporter of Democratic causes and an ally of Gov. Gavin Newsom, who has championed the push to counter Texas’ GOP gerrymander with a new map designed to oust California Republicans. He also spent $3 million to help Newsom beat back a recall attempt in 2021.
A Nov. 4 special election will give Californians an up-or-down vote on new House maps, drawn in concert with national Democrats, that would help Democrats flip a half-dozen seats in next year’s midterm elections as the party seeks to neutralize Texas’ new lines.
Enormous sums have already poured into both sides of a race that has thrust California into the epicenter of American politics. Labor unions, wealthy Californians and House Democrats’ super PAC have already contributed millions of dollars while an affluent independent redistricting advocate, Charles Munger, Jr., has dropped more than $10 million to defeat the measure.

Last year, Hastings donated $7 million to former Vice President Kamala Harris.
Hastings’ move resulted in thousands of Conservatives canceling their subscriptions with Netflix.

After two children were killed and seventeen others, mostly children, were wounded by transgender shooter Robin Westman, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey held a press conference where he vilified “thoughts and prayers,” exposing his anti-Christian stance. His words sparked a backlash, as prominent voices from Bishop Robert Barron and Bishop Leah Daughtry to Vice President J.D. Vance spoke out in defense of the faith.
Frey’s vile statement was even amplified by former Vice President Kamala Harris, who has made her opinion of Christianity clear in the past when she mocked believers, saying, “If you are shouting ‘Jesus is Lord,’ you are at the wrong rally.” After the Minneapolis shooting, Harris said she had spoken with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to “share Doug and my grief for the families impacted and our gratitude for the first responders and law enforcement on the scene.” She then quoted Mayor Frey directly: “Mayor Jacob Frey said it clearly: ‘Don’t just say this is about thoughts and prayers right now. These kids were literally praying.’”
As abhorrent as Frey’s “thoughts and prayers” remark was, he went on to make another comment that was equally anti-Christian but received less attention. “I have heard about a whole lot of hate that’s being directed at our trans community,” Frey said. “Anybody who is using this as an opportunity to villainize our trans community or any other community out there has lost their sense of common humanity.”
He insisted that he hated to see any community attacked. This was puzzling, since it was not the transgender community that was attacked but the Catholic community, and nineteen people, mostly children, paid the price. Frey seemed more concerned about the possibility of a hateful word directed at transgender people after the fact than he was about the murder of Christians.
By contrast, President Trump responded with both prayers and decisive action for the Catholic victims. On Truth Social he wrote: “I have been fully briefed on the tragic shooting in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The FBI quickly responded and they are on the scene… Please join me in praying for everyone involved!” He also ordered flags lowered to half-staff as a mark of respect for the victims of the “senseless acts of violence perpetrated on August 27, 2025,” and spoke with Governor Tim Walz after the shooting.
FBI Director Kash Patel announced that the Bureau was investigating the attack as both domestic terrorism and a hate crime targeting Catholics. This marks a sharp departure from the Biden administration, which came under fire after the FBI’s Richmond Field Office memo labeled “radical-traditionalist Catholics” as potential domestic terrorists and even proposed infiltrating Catholic churches. Under Biden and previous administrations, hate crimes against Christians were rarely classified or prosecuted as hate crimes.
In February 2025, Trump issued Executive Order 14202, “Eradicating Anti-Christian Bias.” The order reaffirmed that federal hate-crime laws prohibit offenses motivated by religious animus and directed federal agencies to enforce those protections for Christians. It also established a Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias in the federal government, led by Attorney General Pamela Bondi.
At its first meeting, Bondi stressed that the administration would enforce the law and protect religious freedoms, criticizing the previous administration for “largely ignoring” more than 100 attacks on Catholic churches and pro-life centers.
The key change was not the creation of new hate-crime laws but the directive to enforce existing ones when Christians are targeted.
Unlike Frey, President Trump and the FBI recognized that the Catholic community—not the transgender community, were the victims of this attack. Political and religious leaders also rallied in support of the Catholic victims, condemning Frey’s misplaced concern for the transgender community.
Charlie Kirk was blunt in his response: “No, Mr. Mayor. Anybody who is more concerned about the ‘trans community’ after this tragedy than the Catholic community that just lost two little kids to this monster has lost their sense of common humanity.”
Commentator David Marcus observed: “Minneapolis Mayor Frey says he is deeply concerned that the trans community will be vilified after this shooting. What he really means is that he, and Democrats, don’t want it mentioned.”
Vice President J.D. Vance also implicitly criticized this approach, defending prayer and asking: “Why do you feel the need to attack other people for praying when kids were just killed praying?”
Online commentators echoed similar outrage. Journalist Nick Sortor wrote on X: “I have heard about a whole lot of HATE being directed to our trans community.” HOW ABOUT THE HATE DIRECTED TOWARD CHRISTIAN KIDS, @MayorFrey?! Others blasted Frey for his dismissiveness: “If your first move after kids are murdered is to defend the ideology of the killer, you’re unfit to lead.” Another post read: “Just incredible how dismissive he is of the Catholics who died yesterday. When it’s a right-wing white man, all Republicans are at fault.”
Mary Katharine Ham noted the broader pattern of media and political responses, comparing it to the Tennessee “Three,” who disrupted the state capitol with bullhorns and chants that framed the shooter as a victim, and became the stars of that story.
Conservative media also criticized Frey’s misplaced concern. The Daily Caller ran the headline: “Jacob Frey Chews Up Entire Minute Virtue Signaling To Trans Community Following Catholic School Shooting.” The Daily Wire likewise noted: “While the city of Minneapolis reels in the aftermath of the tragic Catholic school shooting on Wednesday morning—during which two children were killed and nearly 20 were wounded—Mayor Jacob Frey took a moment to remind people that they should be careful not to attack the ‘trans community.’”
