Megyn Kelly ripped into Sen. Lindsey Graham on her show this week, accusing him of overstepping his role by issuing threats to multiple countries as if he were the Commander-in-Chief.

Kelly highlighted Graham’s recent comments targeting Lebanon, Cuba, Saudi Arabia, the wider Arab region, and Spain.

“When did Lindsey Graham become our president?” Kelly asked during her show. “In the past 24 hours he’s threatened Lebanon, Cuba, the Saudis, the wider Arab region and now – checks notes – Spain.”

Kelly went on to describe Graham as “a homicidal maniac with a bloodlust that is insatiable,” urging President Trump to keep him “nowhere near” his orbit and not allow him “20 feet of the President’s orbit.”

WATCH:

The criticism stemmed from Graham’s recent appearances on Fox News.

On Monday’s Hannity, Graham addressed Spain, saying, “To our friends in Spain, man, you have lost your way. I don’t want to do business with you anymore. I want our airbases out of Spain.”

Earlier that day, Graham warned Saudi Arabia of “consequences” if it did not join the U.S. and Israel against Iran, and offered a mutual defense agreement.

“Here is what I wanna say to Saudi Arabia tonight: I am willing to make a mutual defense agreement with your country to give you protection in perpetuity… If you are attacked by Iran, we would go to war for you.”

Graham also pledged unwavering support to Israel, stating, “I will be with Israel until our dying day.”

On Sunday, the senator warned Cuba that it would be “next.”

Graham’s comments drew praise from the hawkish wing of the right, and contempt from others.

Daily Wire host Matt Walsh called Graham’s Israel pledge “an insane thing for a United States senator to say. Totally indefensible.”

Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna added, “There are some in the Senate that advocate for war everywhere. Lindsey Graham is one of them. He does NOT tell the President what to do, nor does he control Congress… If Senator Graham wants to go fight in a foreign conflict, let him be the first to volunteer.”

For her part, Kelly expressed concern over Graham’s influence on Trump, noting, “The problem with Lindsey Graham isn’t (just) that he’s a homicidal maniac, it’s that Trump likes and is listening to him, and Trump’s favorite channel is parading him around like a Hefner bunny in stockings on every show.”

The popular journalist and podcast host linked Graham to escalating U.S. involvement in conflicts, saying, “He got us into the Iranian war… Now he wants us to get involved in a Lebanese war… and he wants us to go into Cuba from the sound of it.”

Graham’s remarks have sparked debate on social media, with many questioning his authority to speak on foreign policy as if leading the executive branch.

DC Bar Files Disciplinary Charges Against DOJ Official Ed Martin – DOJ Responds

Justice Department official Ed Martin is facing ethics charges after he sent a letter to Georgetown University Law Center related to its DEI policies.

Ed Martin sent the letter last year while he was Interim US Attorney for DC.

The DC Bar is targeting Ed Martin for pushing to end the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies at Georgetown.

“The DC bar’s attempt to target and punish those serving President Trump while refusing to investigate or act against actual ethical violations that were committed by Biden and Obama administration attorneys is a clear indication of this partisan organization’s agenda,” a statement from the DOJ to CBS said.

CBS News reported:

The office that polices attorney misconduct in Washington, D.C., has filed ethics charges against Justice Department pardon attorney Ed Martin, after Martin last year sent a threatening letter to the Georgetown University Law Center that raised questions about its diversity and inclusion policies while he was serving as interim U.S. attorney, according to court filings made public Tuesday.

In a Feb. 17 letter to the law school, Martin told university officials that a whistleblower claimed Georgetown was teaching DEI and asked about the practice. Without waiting for a response, he told the school he was imposing sanctions by instructing his office staff not to employ any students from the school as fellows, interns or employees at the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington, D.C.

In response, the school’s now-former dean, William Treanor, told Martin, who is a devout Catholic, that his letter represented “an attack on the University’s mission as a Jesuit and Catholic institution.”

In filings made in the D.C. Court of Appeals’ Board on Professional Responsibility dated Friday and made public on Tuesday, Disciplinary Counsel Hamilton “Phil” Fox III of the D.C. Bar alleged that Martin’s conduct as a government official violated the First and Fifth Amendments of the U.S. Constitution by making demands that the law school change what it teaches students and how it teaches them.

Last week, Iran’s Women’s Soccer Team protested the Islamic Regime by refusing to sing the national anthem.

Following their act of defiance, Iranian state media branded them “wartime traitors,” in the midst of the ongoing conflict with Iran.

On Monday, President Trump announced that the Australian government was providing asylum to some members of the team.

He wrote on Truth Social, “I just spoke to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, of Australia, concerning the Iranian National Women’s Soccer Team. He’s on it!”

“Five have already been taken care of, and the rest are on their way.”

“Some, however, feel they must go back because they are worried about the safety of their families, including threats to those family members if they don’t return.”

“In any event, the Prime Minister is doing a very good job having to do with this rather delicate situation. God bless Australia!”

Australian Immigration Minister Tony Burke shared on X, “Last night I was able to tell five women from the Iranian Women’s Soccer team that they are welcome to stay in Australia, to be safe and have a home here.”

On Tuesday, as the remaining members of the team began the trek home, one member made a last-minute plea for asylum.

The New York Post reports:

The last-minute rogue player, who hasn’t been named, made her Hail Mary pitch as the remainder of the team boarded a flight at Sydney airport, sources told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

She was not forced to board the flight.

Yet another player also is seeking asylum — bringing the total number of the team’s soccer aces refusing to return home to seven, officials said.

Five of the seven players have already been officially granted humanitarian visas after leaving the team’s hotel on the Gold Coast under police protection Monday.

Unhinged Iranian IRGC Says Any Nation Who Expels US and Israeli Ambassadors Will Be ‘Allowed’ to Navigate the Vital Shipping Route of the Strait of Hormuz

Aerial view of the Strait of Hormuz, showcasing the coastal geography of Iran and Oman with clear water and surrounding land formations.
The vital waterways of Hormuz hold the key to a good share of the world’s oil transport.

Who will bow to Iran’s blackmail?

As the US-Israel military confrontation with Iran rages on, the world’s attention turns to the strategic navigation route of the Strait of Hormuz, through which runs around 20% of oil transports.

Any disruption in these waterways can have a profoundly detrimental effect on the global oil trade, leading to higher prices, therefore causing ripples in the world economy.

It is therefore obvious why the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has been threatening any cargo ships that attempt the crossing of Hormuz.

But today, the IRGC floated an unhinged statement saying that any Arab or European nation expelling US and Israeli ambassadors would gain ‘full authority and freedom’ to transit the Strait of Hormuz.

The statement, carried by state media, was first reported in the West by the Wall Street Journal (behind a paywall).

Right after the statement, President Donald J. Trump threatened to intensify attacks if Iran stops the flow of oil through the Strait.

International Business Times reported:

“The televised ultimatum attempts to use the world’s dependence on the crucial shipping lane to isolate Washington and Jerusalem. The demand comes as military strikes continue across the region, contrasting sharply with US President Donald Trump’s recent claims that the conflict is drawing to a close.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps outlined the new maritime policy during a broadcast on state television, placing a strict diplomatic price on regional navigation. Military officials stated that full authority and freedom to transit the waterway would be guaranteed to any nation willing to eject the specified ambassadors from their respective capitals.”

“The Strait of Hormuz serves as a critical artery for international energy markets, connecting Middle Eastern oil producers to the rest of the world.

[…] According to the broadcast, the proposal serves as a direct countermeasure to recent strategic moves by the United States. Iranian military officials alleged that President Trump is actively considering taking over the Strait of Hormuz in a bid to unilaterally secure the passage of commercial vessels.”

Devastating Israeli Strikes Destroy Oil Infrastructure, Converting Iran Into a Net Petroleum Importer

Thick smoke billows from a cityscape at dusk, indicating a possible fire or explosion in the area.

Thick smoke billows from a cityscape at dusk, indicating a possible fire or explosion in the area.

Iran is both a crude-oil exporter and a net importer of refined petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel, because its domestic refining capacity was already insufficient before the war.

Now that refining facilities are being struck, Iran will be able to produce even less refined fuel.

Iran holds fewer than 90 days of petroleum reserves. With production and distribution facilities now under sustained attack and no clear prospect of resupply at prewar prices, the regime faces growing resource constraints.

The closure of the Strait of Hormuz has effectively halted not just exports but maritime trade in the region, meaning Iran cannot easily import refined products either.

Iran depends on shipments moving through the Strait for gasoline imports, estimated at hundreds of thousands of barrels per day. The U.S. and Israeli strikes are not only creating shortages inside Iran but might also convert the country into a net oil importer.

Despite Iran’s membership in BRICS, there are no visible signs that any member state is moving to intervene militarily or economically on its behalf.

On day nine of the war, Israel crossed a significant threshold, striking Iran’s oil infrastructure for the first time.

On the night of March 7, the Israeli Air Force hit more than 30 fuel depots and refining facilities in and around Tehran, including the Aghdasieh oil warehouse in northeast Tehran, the Tehran refinery in the south, the Shahran oil depot in the west, and a depot in the city of Karaj in neighboring Alborz Province.

Witnesses reported oil from the Shahran depot leaking into nearby streets. Large fires burned through the night, visible for miles and blanketing the capital in thick black smoke. Residents reported oil-saturated raindrops falling on the city the following morning.

For years, Iran’s power across the Middle East has been built on oil revenue. That money funds the IRGC, Hezbollah, Hamas, and the broader network of proxy forces operating across the region.

Destroying the infrastructure that produces and distributes that revenue collapses the financial engine that has sustained Iran’s regional strategy.

The IDF framed the strikes as militarily justified. Sources confirmed that the targeted facilities are directly connected to Iran’s military-industrial complex, stating that Iranian military organs, including missile units launching strikes at Israel and across the region, depend on fuel drawn from these depots.

The oil strikes were part of a wider campaign that continued across multiple target sets over the weekend. Israeli and American forces struck more than 300 targets inside Iran and another 170 in Lebanon.

The IDF reported killing five IRGC commanders based in Lebanon and destroying Hezbollah infrastructure concentrated in the south and the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Weapons-production facilities near Parchin, south of Tehran, were hit, including factories producing explosives for ballistic-missile warheads and complexes assembling missile components.

The IDF also stated that it struck Iran’s two most central ballistic-missile production sites and destroyed 16 IRGC Quds Force aircraft at Mehrabad International Airport, which it identified as a hub used to transfer weapons and cash to Hezbollah and other proxy forces across the region.

Earlier in the conflict, airstrikes targeted an underground bunker built for Khamenei, with reports indicating that several entrances had been concealed beneath schools, mosques, hospitals, and sports stadiums.

Iran responded on multiple fronts. The IRGC announced that missiles struck the Haifa refinery in Israel in retaliation for the attack on the Tehran refinery.

The spokesman for the Khatam al-Anbiya military headquarters warned that continued strikes on Iranian oil infrastructure would trigger retaliatory attacks on energy infrastructure across the region. Iran also struck a desalination plant in Bahrain, drawing Gulf states deeper into the conflict.

The region depends on desalinated water for much of its drinking supply, making infrastructure of that kind a sensitive target.

Iran’s political succession proceeded in parallel with the military campaign. Following the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on the first day of the war, Iran’s religious leadership selected his son Mojtaba Khamenei as his successor.

The 56-year-old has close ties to the Revolutionary Guard, signaling continuity of the hard-line posture his father maintained for 37 years.

Prime Minister Netanyahu responded by stating that Israel would target the new leadership and those involved in the selection process. Netanyahu said Israel has an organized plan with many surprises to destabilize the regime and enable change.

As of March 9, Iranian state media have confirmed that the new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has been wounded, although the extent of his injuries is not yet known.

China faces its own exposure. As the world’s largest crude-oil importer, taking in roughly 10 to 11 million barrels per day, China has relied heavily on Iranian crude supplied at a discount through sanctions-busting arrangements.

Its combined strategic and commercial petroleum reserves are estimated at between 1.2 and 1.3 billion barrels, equivalent to approximately 75 to 80 days of consumption at current rates.

Those reserves cannot be replenished at equivalent cost. Once drawn down, China must reenter a market at war-premium prices, with Iranian supply disrupted, Middle Eastern flows broadly constrained, and Russian crude subject to its own sanctions pressure.

The United States faces no comparable constraint. Having become a net energy exporter in 2019, American producers benefit directly from elevated global oil prices.

Shale operators in the Permian Basin and LNG exporters gain margin as Europe and Asia compete for available supply, often at premium prices.

The structural asymmetry is significant. High oil prices impose a sustained cost on the world’s largest energy importer while generating revenue for the world’s largest energy exporter.

In a brazen early-morning attack, shots were fired at the United States Consulate in downtown Toronto on Tuesday.

The incident, which occurred around 5:30 a.m. local time, resulted in no injuries but has been labeled a “national security incident” by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), who are collaborating with Toronto Police and international partners to find the suspects and determine the motives.

According to Toronto Police, officers responded to reports of gunfire at the consulate located on University Avenue near Queen Street West.

Evidence of a discharged firearm was located at the scene, including bullet impact marks on the building.

During a press briefing on Tuesday morning, Toronto Police Deputy Chief Frank Barredo revealed that a white Honda CRV pulled up in front of the consulate, two individuals emerged, and one of them fired what appeared to be a handgun at the front of the building.

RCMP Chief Superintendent Chris Leather added, “The RCMP takes threats to the security of individuals living in Canada very seriously and wants to reassure everyone that there is no indication of an immediate threat to public safety at this time.”

WATCH:

Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

No arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly named.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford called the shooting an “unacceptable act of intimidation.”

“The shooting that took place at the U.S. consulate early this morning is an absolutely unacceptable act of violence and intimidation aimed at our American friends and neighbors,” Ford said in a statement. “Everyone at all levels of government and across Canada needs to make clear that there is zero tolerance for this sort of intimidating and dangerous behavior.”

U.S. officials, including representatives from the embassy in Ottawa and the Department of State, have not yet issued public statements, but they are reportedly in close contact with Canadian authorities.

Trump and Putin Hold Phone Call To Discuss Iran and Ukraine Wars

Trump and Putin spoke for over an hour.

More dialogue, fewer missiles.

As the US-Israel versus Iran war rages in Asia, and the Russia-Ukraine endures in its 5th year, a phone call between Donald J. Trump and Vladimir Putin comes at a vital time.

Axios reported:

“This was the first call between Trump and Putin since the beginning of the war with Iran.

Russia is a key ally of Iran and U.S. officials are concerned it is helping the Iranians in their war effort.

Trump downplayed that scenario, but White House envoy Steve Witkoff told reporters on Saturday that he has communicated to Russian officials that they shouldn’t share any intelligence with Iran.”

“He wants to be helpful [with Iran]. I told him you can be more helpful by ending the war in Ukraine.”

Reuters reported:

“The Kremlin said Trump had called Putin and, in their first telephone call this year, they discussed Russian ideas for a speedy end to the conflict in Iran, the military situation in Ukraine and the impact of events in Venezuela on the global oil market.

[…] Putin had said earlier that the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran had triggered a global energy crisis, while cautioning that oil production dependent on transport through the Strait of Hormuz near Iran’s coast could soon come to a halt.”
