Jose Medina-Medina, the Venezuelan illegal alien who shot and killed 18-year-old Loyola University student Sheridan Gorman earlier this month, is unable to read or write and has severe brain damage, according to his attorney.
Not only is he a criminal who was released back onto the street after a prior arrest, but he’s mentally incompetent.
This is the “best and brightest” who Biden and the Left want to flood our country with.
The teen was shot and killed near campus in Chicago, Illinois, over the weekend by the 25-year-old illegal alien who entered the US under the Biden Regime and was later arrested, then released from local custody under Chicago’s sanctuary city policies.
According to Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, whose policies allowed this violent killer to roam free, however, Trump is to blame for Gorman’s death. As The Gateway Pundit reported, Pritzker credited “a failure to have comprehensive immigration reform” and “a failure of the president to follow his own edict to go after the worst of the worst” for the murder.
During a court hearing on Friday, Medina, who is charged with one count of first-degree murder, one count of attempted first-degree murder, one count of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon, and three counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, reportedly became “sick off camera” and closed his eyes several times.
His public defender, Julie Koehler, told the court that he grew up in Venezuela and attended school only until he was seven years old. He is completely illiterate.
As a teenager, he was allegedly shot in the head during a 2018 robbery while living in Colombia, and he now has brain damage, stunted development, and memory problems.
He also allegedly contracted tuberculosis in a migrant shelter after he illegally entered the United States, the attorney said.
Kholer is requesting that he remain in detention pending trial in order to evade a detainer and pending arrest from ICE upon his release. She claims that he could be deported to a third country “without the benefit of due process.”
The victim’s family said in a statement that “nothing said in that courtroom” changes the reality they face of losing a young daughter. They further questioned, “How does something like this happen in a place where a young woman should have been safe?” noting, “That is not a political question. It is a human one.”
She was 18 years old. She was exactly where she was supposed to be—living her life, surrounded by friends, doing something entirely normal. There was nothing reckless, nothing unusual, nothing that should have placed her in danger. And yet, she is gone. That is the reality we are forced to confront. And nothing said in that courtroom changes it.
What we heard today forces a broader question that cannot be ignored: How does something like this happen in a place where a young woman should have been safe?
That is not a political question. It is a human one. Because if we allow ourselves to accept this as inevitable—as something that simply happens—then we are accepting a world where young people cannot safely live their lives in the most ordinary ways. That is a standard no family should be asked to accept.

President Trump once again called on Republican Senators to end the filibuster amid ongoing gridlock and partial government shutdown.
The Senate very early Friday morning, after a marathon session, unanimously approved a voice-vote package to fund the Department of Homeland Security, except for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and key parts of Customs and Border Protection.
Democrats flat-out refused to support full funding without gutting immigration raids and deportation operations.
Instead of fighting for the full funding, Thune and the Senate GOP folded in the dead of night, when no one was watching.
The House of Representatives late Friday night passed a short-term DHS funding bill.
The House voted 213-203 to fully fund the Department of Homeland Security for 8 weeks.
However, the bill is likely dead on arrival in the Senate because it won’t get the 60 votes needed to pass the measure.
The SAVE America Act is still stalled in the Senate.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune and others have floated passing the SAVE America Act through reconciliation which only requires 51 votes.
This requires approval from the Senate Parliamentarian and she would immediately slash the SAVE America Act from the reconciliation package because it is not a budgetary item.
The only option is to nuke the filibuster and pass bills with 51 votes in the Senate.
The president once again called on Senators to nuke the filibuster.
Trump said it is time to expose the Republican Senators who stand in the way.
“It is time for the Senate Filibuster to END. Those weak and ineffective Republicans Senators that stand in the way of this should be exposed to the public. The Democrats are CRAZY!” Trump said in a Truth Social post.

Vice President J.D. Vance on Saturday won a key straw poll for the 2028 Republican presidential nomination. But the results indicated that Vance is no longer the clear front-runner in the race.
Fifty-three percent of voting attendees at the Conservative Political Action Conference selected Vance. Secretary of State Marco Rubio finished second at 35 percent. No other candidate cracked three percent.
Last year, Vance led the poll with 61 percent and populist firebrand Steve Bannon, who was not on this year’s ballot, came in second with 12 percent. Rubio garnered only 3 percent.
This year’s results bolster the view that Vance remains the favorite to succeed President Donald Trump in 2028 but has lost ground to Rubio. The latter has been an active figure in the White House due to his role as both top diplomat and national security adviser.
Many analysts believe the Trump administration’s militarism abroad—especially the war with Iran—raises political risks for Vance, who has built a reputation advocating for a more restrained foreign policy.

Dowsett was described as a ‘cancer on the ship’.
Earlier in the week, TGP reported on the rather unusual case of Sian Dowsett, a British female sailor being court-martialed for sexually assaulting both male and female shipmates on the destroyer HMS Dauntless.
Yesterday (27), news arose that Dowsett has been convicted of six sexual assaults while serving aboard the Royal Navy ship.
She picked the four victims because she thought they would not complain, the prosecution argued.
An ‘intimidating’ female sailor has been found guilty of a string of six sexual assaults against her male and female shipmates.
Able Seaman Sian Dowsett, 25, was said to be a ‘cancer on the ship’ after she groped four of her Royal Navy colleagues – two men and two women.

The Sun reported:
“The prowling predator carried out attacks on her female colleagues including smacking their bottoms and squeezing their breasts while they were changing. Dowsett grabbed the crotches of male sailors, stroked their arms and even pinched the nipple of one colleague.”
Dowsett previously claimed allegations were ‘made up’ because her colleagues didn’t like her, but the prosecution successfully argued that ‘it was unlikely that all 10 of the witnesses were making up allegations’.
“The attacks were carried out on HMS Dauntless from 2023 to 2024 and Dowsett was described as a ‘cancer on the ship’ by one male victim in his police interview.”
“In an incident, Dowsett grabbed the breasts of a naked Petty Officer, a senior rank, while she was changing and asked: ‘Do you like that baby girl?’
While taking lessons with a male leading hand she ‘pinched his left nipple’ on and off for around half an hour, while keeping eye contact with him, the court heard. She had previously told him ‘I like my coffee how I like my men, big and strong’.”
She was found guilty of six out of seven counts of sexual assault, and is to be sentenced at a later date.

On Friday J. D. Vance told Benny Johnson in their interview that radical leftist congresswoman Ilhan Omar committed immigration fraud. Vance promised the White House will go after Ilhan for her crimes.

David Steinberg published an extensive report on the alleged crimes and history of Rep. Ilhan Omar and the “Omar” family.
In his report, David found that the Omar family changed their name in order to enter the United States.

In 1995, Ilhan entered the United States as a fraudulent member of the “Omar” family.
That is not her family. The Omar family is a second, unrelated family which was being granted asylum by the United States. The Omars allowed Ilhan, her genetic sister Sahra, and her genetic father Nur Said to use false names to apply for asylum as members of the Omar family.
Ilhan’s genetic family split up at this time. The above three received asylum in the United States, while Ilhan’s three other siblings — using their real names — managed to get asylum in the United Kingdom.
Ilhan Abdullahi Omar’s name, before applying for asylum, was Ilhan Nur Said Elmi.
Her father’s name before applying for asylum was Nur Said Elmi Mohamed. Her sister Sahra Noor’s name before applying for asylum was Sahra Nur Said Elmi. Her three siblings who were granted asylum by the United Kingdom are Leila Nur Said Elmi, Mohamed Nur Said Elmi, and Ahmed Nur Said Elmi.

This ties in to The Gateway Pundit’s previous report by Joe Hoft on Ilhan Omar’s father.
The Gateway Pundit obtained information that is damning for Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.
Omar’s father, Nur Omar Mohamed (aka Nur Said Elmi Mohamed), is connected to the former dictator in Somalia, Said Barre. Nur and other former Barre accomplices are living in the US illegally.
Omar’s father Mohamed, is living in the US. He and other Somalians like Yusuf Abdi Ali, who killed thousands for Barre, escaped to the West and were not vetted properly before entering the country. Barre was a dictator and was connected to Cuban dictator Fidel Castro as well as other dictators around the globe.
Ali is a convicted war criminal who did the killing himself. Ali has been located in the US working as security at Dulles International Airport and driving for Uber in 2019. He reportedly lived at one time in Alexandria, Virginia. Ali was a Colonel in the Somalian Army’s 5th Mechanized Brigade in 1987 and was a graduate of the Pentagon’s Program for Foreign Officers in 1986. He’s also a war criminal in response to his actions in Somalia.
Nur, Representative Omar’s father, appears to have been a party propagandist under the dictator and was responsible for ‘ideological’ aspects of the Red-Green revolution. (He worked for the Marxist/Stalinist regime under dictator Baare as a teacher of teachers.) This could have included providing the ideological/political justification for the massacres of the late eighties.
It is not a secret that Ilhan Omar’s father illegally entered the United States.
The Nur family was well connected in the country led by the Marxist regime. Young Omar went to kindergarten at age four, their family lived in a secure compound in Mogadishu. When the regime was overtaken, the family caught a plane to escape the country. The average GDP per capita in Somalia was only $187 dollars in 2010 twenty years after they fled the country when the regime fell. Obviously, Nur’s family was a privileged family.
According to a 2016 article on Omar, when the Marxist regime was being overtaken the secure compound that the family lived in was under attack by 20 armed men, somehow the family escaped. It is not clear how. Either the family had superior armed guards within their compound or they bribed the attackers and sent them on their way (or the story is a complete fabrication).
Both Ali and Nur escaped Somalia after the fall of Barre. Because they were no longer safe there and would have been put on trial and shot if caught, they exited the country. Both ended up in the US and both hid the fact that they worked for a totalitarian regime. Both lied on their Form N-400, Application for Naturalization about their communist background. (They had to or they wouldn’t be here.)

The Immigration and Nationality Act (I.N.A.) contains a prohibition on naturalization for anyone involved, within the last ten years, with a group that advocates or teaches opposition to all organized government; or involved with the Communist Party or any other totalitarian party of the U.S. or any foreign state; or who advocates world communism or totalitarian dictatorship even without formal group membership. (See I.N.A. Section 313).”
Both Nur and Yusuf should be disqualified from permanent US residency and a revocation of their US citizenship should take place.
Representative Omar reportedly lied after she married her brother in order to assist him in obtaining US citizenship.
This would obviously disqualify Omar and her brother from legal citizenship.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz delivered remarks at the “No Kings” protest at the Minnesota State Capitol on Saturday.
“No Kings” protests erupted across the country on Saturday.
Organizers of the protests claimed that 9 million people would participate in more than 3,000 events across the US.
But the protests were a major flop.
Most of the No Kings protestors are old white liberal women.
Tim Walz trashed President Trump and pledged his allegiance to Somali Minnesotans.
“We’ll never leave the side of Somali Minnesotans. Here’s our pledge to you: your great-grandchildren will be here when that orange clown is in the dustbin of history!” Tim Walz shouted.
“We’re damn sure about this. We need no damn kings! But we do need a boss,” Walz shouted before introducing Bruce Springsteen to the stage.
