A citizen-backed Voter ID initiative has officially qualified for the November 3, 2026 General Election ballot.

The Secretary of State’s office confirmed today that the Voter ID and Citizenship Verification Initiative (Proposition 1984) has officially qualified for the November 3, 2026 General Election ballot after grassroots warriors delivered a staggering 962,106 valid signatures, blowing past the required threshold of 874,641 with room to spare.

This was a true grassroots effort led by Reform California, Assemblymember Carl DeMaio (R-San Diego), and state Sen. Tony Strickland. Thousands of dedicated volunteers braved the leftist strongholds, the harassment, and the endless Democrat propaganda to get this done.

NBC News reported:

A proposal that would require California to verify proof of citizenship when a person registers to vote — and require voters to provide identification at polling places — will appear on the November ballot, state officials announced Friday.

The announcement comes amid a national debate over election security and what type of requirements voters should face to show they are qualified to cast a ballot. In Congress, Republicans are pushing a strict proof-of-citizenship proposal for residents to vote, encouraged by President Donald Trump.

The California plan — also backed by Republicans — is being pitched as a common sense idea to strengthen confidence in voting in a vast state with more than 23 million people registered to cast a ballot. State officials said its backers submitted sufficient petition signatures to qualify for the November ballot.

“We already show ID for everyday activities like flying, opening a bank account and picking up prescription medications. Thirty-six other states and many countries around the world already use voter ID,” said state Sen. Tony Strickland, a Republican from Huntington Beach.

“Californians deserve secure, transparent elections,” added Strickland, a proponent of the proposal.

If approved in November in the heavily Democratic state, other provisions would require those who vote through popular mail-in ballots would have to give the last four digits of a government-issued ID, such as a Social Security number.

NETANYAHU Concealed Tumor During Iran Showdown…

Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu disclosed on Friday that he secretly battled and defeated prostate cancer over recent months, revealing the diagnosis only after achieving complete recovery in what he framed as a parallel to confronting national security threats.

Strategic Silence on Health Crisis

Netanyahu controlled the narrative by choosing social media platform X to personally announce his cancer diagnosis and recovery on April 24, 2026. The timing of this disclosure—only after achieving complete recovery—allowed him to present strength rather than vulnerability. This approach stands in stark contrast to the typical political playbook where leaders face pressure for immediate transparency regarding health issues. By waiting until treatment concluded successfully, Netanyahu eliminated the risk of appearing weakened during a critical period of Israel-Iran tensions, though his stated rationale focused on his general approach to handling threats rather than explicitly citing propaganda concerns.

Early Detection Through Routine Monitoring

The discovery of Netanyahu’s malignant tumor occurred during a routine checkup approximately 1.5 years after he underwent surgery for benign prostate enlargement in late 2024 or early 2025. The small size of the tumor—less than one centimeter—and its non-metastatic status demonstrate the life-saving value of consistent medical monitoring, particularly for men over 70. Prostate cancer remains one of the most common cancers in older men, yet early detection through screenings like PSA tests yields cure rates exceeding 95 percent for localized tumors. Netanyahu’s case reinforces why even high-profile leaders with demanding schedules cannot afford to skip routine medical appointments.

Parallels Between Personal and National Defense

In his announcement, Netanyahu drew a deliberate comparison between managing personal health threats and protecting Israel from external dangers. “When I am given timely information about a possible threat, I want to deal with it immediately… That’s what I did,” he stated. This framing positions his cancer treatment as an extension of his decisive leadership style on national security matters. The analogy resonates with supporters who value proactive rather than reactive governance, though critics might question whether such messaging conflates personal medical decisions with complex geopolitical strategy. The statement also subtly reinforces his image as a leader who confronts challenges head-on, whether biological or geopolitical.

Leadership Continuity Amid Regional Instability

Netanyahu’s full recovery and resumption of duties without reported limitations provide stability for Israel during a period of heightened tensions with Iran and ongoing regional conflicts. The disclosure preempts speculation that might have arisen from leaked information or rumors, denying adversaries the opportunity to exploit perceived weakness. Historical precedents show how leader health can become weaponized in international relations—Ariel Sharon’s 2005 stroke created uncertainty, while various U.S. presidential health disclosures have sparked political debates. By revealing his cancer only after successful treatment, Netanyahu maintained operational control and prevented the kind of destabilizing speculation that geopolitical opponents might leverage for propaganda purposes, addressing concerns shared by citizens across the political spectrum about protecting national interests.

The announcement also serves as an unexpected public health message, potentially encouraging Israeli men and others worldwide to prioritize routine cancer screenings. Netanyahu’s experience demonstrates that even world leaders managing complex crises must make time for preventive healthcare, a lesson that transcends political divisions and speaks to the universal value of early detection in saving lives.

ESPN Slammed for ‘Absolutely Embarrassing’ Blunders During NFL Draft Broadcast

The first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday evening from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, produced its share of winners and losers.

Judging by reactions from fans and others, the ESPN broadcast of the event fell squarely into the latter category.

Throughout the night, viewers took to the social media platform X to complain about what one NFL analyst called an “absolutely embarrassing display” from the NFL and one of its major broadcast partners.

X users cited as troublesome the NFL’s decision to shorten the time between picks from 10 minutes to eight minutes. On the face of it, of course, the decision made sense, for it prioritized viewers’ experience. Selections happened more quickly and with less dead time in between them.

ESPN, however, littered viewers’ screens with the usual amount of fluff interviews and especially commercials. As a result, the broadcast fell behind in reporting player selections, in some cases ridiculously so.

“ESPN is so far behind on picks,” former NFL offensive tackle Mitchell Schwartz wrote on X. “They’re going to have to figure this 8 min thing out because they can’t be 10+ min behind real time. The whole tipping picks thing is irrelevant when you feel like you can’t be on social media because the TV is that delayed.”

In other words, fans who followed the event on social media knew the selections long before the ESPN audience did.

Likewise, NFL analyst Warren Sharp suggested that perhaps ESPN’s producers “slept thru the meeting where the NFL changed the time between picks to 8 minutes,” calling it an “absolutely embarrassing display.”

Alain Poupart, who covers the Miami Dolphins, blamed the commercials.

“It’s a joke, really … they’re like two picks behind because they have to fill the airtime and get in commercials,” Poupart wrote.

Meanwhile, on Friday morning, Zach Dean of Outkick joked that “ESPN is still trying to catch up on the picks.”

In addition to the broadcast’s molasses-like pace, someone forgot to keep ESPN host Mike Greenberg abreast of transactions.

As often happens, the San Francisco 49ers traded the 27th overall pick to the Dolphins. Miami then used the pick to select San Diego State cornerback Chris Johnson.

Despite the updated ESPN chyron and the Dolphins’ logo prominently displayed above NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s podium on stage, Greenberg still announced the pick as if the 49ers had selected Johnson.

Then, after Goodell announced that Miami had selected Johnson, Greenberg still behaved as if the trade had never happened.

“With the 27th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select Chris Johnson, defensive back, San Diego State,” Goodell said in a clip posted to X.

“All right, so the California kid stays in California,” the oblivious Greenberg remarked moments later.

Greenberg’s confusion notwithstanding, the Dolphins had a productive night by landing Johnson and Alabama OT Kadyn Proctor 15 picks earlier.

Likewise, the New York Giants snagged a pair of top-10 picks in Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese at #5 and University of Miami offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa at #10. And the New York Jets maneuvered their way into three first-round selections: Texas Tech defensive end David Bailey at #2, Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq at #16, and Indiana wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. at #30.

On the other hand, the Los Angeles Rams raised eyebrows by selecting Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson at #13. Los Angeles already has an established quarterback in reigning NFL MVP Matthew Stafford. And the team came within one touchdown drive of reaching the Super Bowl. Most fans, therefore, expected the #13 pick to be a player more likely than Simpson to help the 2026 Rams.

Of course, fans on social media knew all of this long before ESPN viewers did.

Guest Post By J6er Isaac Thomas

Pardoned J6er Vitali Gossjankowski is facing a new hardship after being seriously injured in a bicycle crash involving an SUV this week.

In Washington, D.C., Vitali was on his way to work when he was struck by a cab driver in a multi-vehicle accident. He was rushed to Howard University Hospital, where he was diagnosed with a Broken left clavicle, a bruised left lung, a hairline fracture in his upper spine, and severe back spasms.

He lost consciousness at the scene and has no health insurance or family support, and faces a minimum of 6 weeks out of work while he recovers.

Many in the J6 community know Goss’ story because, despite living with hearing challenges, he was still caught up in the Biden regime’s aggressive targeting of January 6th protesters.

During that time, fellow J6ers in the DC jail stood by him and helped him navigate one of the most difficult and uncertain chapters of his life.

Now he once again needs the support of patriots willing to help someone who has already endured so much. Medical bills, lost income, and daily expenses are already adding up as he fights to recover in the hospital.

His family has launched a GiveSendGo fundraiser to help him get through the weeks ahead.

Every donation and prayer would be greatly appreciated.

If you would like to help, please consider donating and sharing the fundraiser here.

Ghostwriter in a Hurry

Ghostwriter in a Hurry

Pity the hack who works for Gavin Newsom.

California Governor Newsom Speaks On State's School Safety And Covid Prevention Efforts

Young Man in a Hurry: A Memoir of Discovery, by Gavin Newsom. Penguin Press, 304 pages.

Let’s start with the acknowledgments, usually the best place to begin in a political memoir. Here the author admits that he is less composer and more collaborator. Although his name appears on the cover and the story is his own, the real work of compilation is done by a shadow army of ghostwriters, developmental editors, line editors, copy editors, and fact checkers. No one feels any compunction about this arrangement. It is just the way the business works. The writers and editors offer their services, the author accepts, and everyone who participated in the project gets half a line of thanks. Most people know you can’t judge a book by its cover. Only those in publishing understand that you must consult the acknowledgements.

Gavin Newsom is cognizant of this industry dynamic, and it suits him well. The governor of California is one of the most forthright fakers in American politics. He proudly declares in the acknowledgements of Young Man in a Hurry that he did not write his memoir. Instead, he “enjoyed the privilege” of hiring Mark Arax, a literary nonfiction journalist in California, to do the work for him. The idea was to produce something classier than a campaign book. Arax’s role “went beyond mere ghostwriter,” Newsom says. “He asked for one thing: that the memoir would go where it needed to go, no matter how personal and wrenching, and I agreed.”

That’s a big promise, especially coming from a guy who is eyeing the White House in 2028. Pity that Newsom doesn’t deliver. Young Man in a Hurry fails on its own terms. It is neither personal nor wrenching. Worse, neither author nor writer seems to understand how badly he has blundered. Nor, I should add, do most reviewers. The memoir has been praised for its literary qualities, for its humility, for its honesty. It possesses none of these things. It is a pastiche of introspection; unconvincing and shallow, like Newsom himself.

The problem of authenticity is one with which Newsom has struggled ever since he got into politics. His family is one of the most venerable in San Francisco, and he spent much of his childhood gadding about the world with the Getty children, whose family trust his father administered. His first political assignment was an appointed position, courtesy of Willie Brown, another friend of his father’s. Almost every position has occupied since has owed something to his family name and connections. Newsom does not deny nor downplay any of it. But he insists that he has known struggle too. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother had to work three jobs just to get by. He claims that as a child he was gangly, awkward, and afflicted by undiagnosed dyslexia. When he grew up, he became aware of a painful duality within himself that he has spent years attempting to understand.

“Before my image had been curated and projected onto the screen by the packaging of politics, I was some combination of genes and upbringings whose imprint I struggled to deduce,” Newsom says. “I began to tunnel backward, the questions more lucid in my head. I might have stopped at the first painful revelation, but my obsessive gear kicked in and I kept boring deeper into the past.”

Boring is the right word. Arax clearly tried to extract some admission from the governor, some telling anecdote that reveals the humanity behind his self-serious bluster. After all, the book is subtitled “A Memoir of Discovery.” But the ghostwriter came up short. So he was forced instead to insert vague circumlocutions where there should have been specific details. Thus, we learn that Newsom was ejected from third grade “for one shortcoming or another” and that his grandmother gave him a drawing lesson in “one thing and another.” He tells us that the past was “all too painful” for his father to recount, and when he did tell stories about it, he used a script that was “all too familiar” to his son. Yet Newsom still finds the voice of his father within him “all too alive.” And when Arax does manage to get a real story out of the governor, it is usually only insipid family lore. “Nobody could ever get me to eat peas. I would never eat peas,” Newsom recalls his father saying. But one day his grandmother “mashed them in the mashed potatoes, and I ate peas.”

This is not to say that the book is completely content-free. In some places it’s packed with facts, too many facts. Arax has a tendency, typical of political journalists, to mistake an overload of useless information for a stylistic flourish. Sometimes this manifests as fake descriptive writing. (On Gordon and Ann Getty: “They moved into a 1914 mansion set atop Pacific Heights with a one-of-a-kind view of the San Francisco Bay.”) Other times it surfaces as real descriptive writing that nevertheless does not tell the reader anything important. (On Treasure Island: “It had action, it had a place remote and mysterious, it had a one-legged pirate disguised as a cook named Long John Silver.”) At its most ludicrous, it employs the inane precision that I associate most readily with the novelist Dan Brown. (On touring Rome: “the rococo style of the 135 Spanish Steps,” On The Economist: “the London-based weekly that had been pushing its ‘radical centrism’ since the 1840s,” On Hilaire Belloc: “one of the Big Four of Edwardian letters.”) In the funniest of these howlers, Newsom declares that the movie Rocky “was the Metamorphoses for a kid like me”—perhaps the only time Sylvester Stallone has entered Ovid’s orbit.

So much for the book’s literary qualities. Young Man in a Hurry’s political content is equally flimsy. Newsom seems to have poured so much effort into portraying himself as a sensitive young man that he forgot that his memoir is also a campaign book. Maybe there just isn’t much to say. The governor treats his political career in San Francisco at some length, but he tends to focus on piddling achievements. While a city commissioner, for example, he changed the name of the people who hand out parking tickets from “meter maid” to “parking control officer,” a bureaucratization which he treats as a massive win for human dignity. Similarly, while mayor, he changed the paperwork in the issuance of marriage licenses such that the forms no longer read “man and wife” but “Applicant One” and “Applicant Two,” a decision that (for a time) made San Francisco one of the few places to marry gay people.

Once Newsom exits his hometown for state politics, he falls curiously silent. Little is said about his time as lieutenant governor. (He claims he was known simply as the “guns and weed dude.”) And almost nothing about his current office. The narrative strategically ends while Newsom is governor-elect, allowing him to skirt any discussion of his conduct during the pandemic, his management of the state’s budget, and a host of other difficulties he has muddled through since taking control of California in 2019.

But the book is not a total wash. There is actually one revealing anecdote, though I doubt Newsom and Arax intended it to land as it does. Around the time Newsom was courting his second wife, Jen Siebel, he was also evading a stalker in San Francisco. Han Sup Shin was a middle-aged psychotic who dressed in purple ties and latex gloves and who enjoyed taking pictures of the mayor’s pants. One night, Shin attempted to break into Newsom’s apartment building with a roll of duct tape in his hand. He was arrested, and the police confiscated his bizarre photo collection, as well as a video recorder on which he was taping a cassette titled “President Newsom.”Newsom reflects that he found the incident disconcerting. He’s right to. Only a madman would seriously consider him in the White House.

Is Our Problem Species Narcissism?

Is Our Problem Species Narcissism?

Man remains the only creature that engages in mass slaughter.

Israeli airstrikes continue on the 17th day in Gaza

War, i.e., the legalization of what in peacetime is first-degree murder, has been the imperishable scourge of the species since Genesis.  Joshua conquered Canaan by force and violence. The commandment “Thou shalt not kill” is honored in the breach rather than in the observance.  Thucydides in his History of the Peloponnesian War observed that the strong doing what they can and the weak suffering what they must is the key to unlocking the human narrative.  Geniuses like Albert Einstein and Sigmund Freud were clueless about arresting industrial-scale violence. The electrifying Sermon on the Mount has not stopped a single war. Edward Gibbon lamented, “History is indeed little more than the register of the crimes, follies, and misfortunes of mankind.”

At present, wars or violent conflict remain endemic: Sudan, South Sudan, Gaza, Lebanon, Iran, Ukraine, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Kashmir, Myanmar, the Philippines, Mozambique, Libya, Gaza, the West Bank, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Nigeria, Pakistan, India, and Afghanistan. In the physical sciences, mankind’s advances have been awesome. AI and space marvels are illustrative.  But no progress has been made in preventing war.

Species narcissism explains the discrepancy. We instinctively believe we are the superior species.  All species cultivate that trait. It promotes survival for the sake of survival unhandicapped by morals or ethics, the endgame of Darwinian evolution.

All theory may be in favor of human superiority. But all experience is against it. Humans kill each other on a scale unimaginable for other animals.  The annals of lions and tigers, for example, exhibit nothing comparable to Pearl Harbor, Hiroshima, the 872-day siege of Leningrad, the Holocaust, the Battle of the Somme, ad infinitum. No other species pointlessly kills for the sake of killing and power or to experience a juvenile adrenalin high.  Remember the words of the reptilian former national security advisor and secretary of state, Henry Kissinger:  “Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac.”

By any moral or ethical metric, humans are the worst species by orders of magnitude. Human inferiority is compounded by the fact that we are capable of better by subordinating our hormonal gratifications to our cerebral endowments.

Despite infinite evidence to the contrary, humans doltishly imagine that wars can be ended by prayers or oblations to a supreme being or beneficent rulers.  As Lord Acton noted, “power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” The Buddhist Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi ignored the genocide of the Muslim Rohingya. The oppressed become the oppressors at the first opportunity. Juxtapose the Holocaust with Gaza today.

James Madison, father of the Constitution, recognized the folly of believing men were angels naturally inclined towards peace and magnanimity.  Madison wrote in Federalist 51,

What is government itself, but the greatest of all reflections on human nature? If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself.

Madison’s solution was the Constitution’s separation of powers—a structural bill of rights to forestall tyranny.  The war power was entrusted exclusively to Congress with no incentive for adventurism.  In times of war, Congress becomes an acorn and the President a mighty oak wielding infinite power. As Madison noted, war is the nurse of executive aggrandizement, for example, warrantless dragnet surveillance of the “not-yet-guilty” and killing anyone deemed a national security threat without evidence.  Kissinger derided as “an act of insanity and national humiliation to have a law prohibiting the President from ordering assassinations.”

We have forgotten Madison’s constitutional wisdom in de facto transferring the war power from Congress to the president for at least 75 years. A plague of pointless presidential wars ensued and continue. We fantasize that we are made of angelic DNA with no need to arrest the human propensity towards killing for power.  Former secretary of state Madeleine Albright epitomized the delusion.  She sermonized, “If we have to use force, it is because we are America; we are the indispensable nation. We stand tall and we see further than other countries into the future.”  This is the same lady who told 60 Minutes that the deaths of 500,000 Iraq children was a price worth paying for America’s handcuffing of Saddam Hussein!

Any person afflicted with species narcissism should not be entrusted with power.

Mike Johnson’s Surveillance Push Has a Thomas Massie Problem

Mike Johnson’s Surveillance Push Has a Thomas Massie Problem

Republicans who care about civil liberties seek to block the renewal of FISA Section 702.

US-POLITICS-TRUMP-STATE OF THE UNION

Two years ago, Donald Trump wrote, “KILL FISA, IT WAS ILLEGALLY USED AGAINST ME AND MANY OTHERS. THEY SPIED ON MY CAMPAIGN!!!”

But these days, Trump favors renewing the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). On Thursday, Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana revealed a bill to do precisely that. Johnson’s push came one week after 20 Republicans voted against, and thus helped block, his prior FISA renewal bill.

Perhaps the most vocal Republican opponent of FISA renewal has been Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY).

Last week, Massie shared on X, “Last night between midnight and 2am, they tried to pass two bad versions of FISA.”

“They” being the House and its speaker, Johnson.

“Both would have allowed Feds to unconstitutionally spy on Americans,” Massie said. “We stopped both versions, but the fight isn’t over. Eventually, it was decided to give them two more weeks to fix FISA.”

Not just Trump, but also Johnson, used to make the same kinds of arguments against FISA surveillance. Nevertheless, Trump, Johnson, and the majority of Republicans now disagree with Massie and want an 18-month renewal of FISA’s Section 702, which allows the U.S. government to conduct surveillance of foreign nationals outside the United States—foreigners who are often in communication with American citizens who can get surveilled in the process.

Thanks to Massie and other Republicans who care about civil liberties, the FISA provision hasn’t been renewed. But neither has it been reformed or killed; it’s set to expire on April 30, and the fight certainly isn’t over.

Again, Massie’s opposition—being against warrantless surveillance of American citizens—is basically the same as Trump’s previous position.

Back in March 2018, Trump said on X,

The Mueller probe should never have been started in that there was no collusion and there was no crime. It was based on fraudulent activities and a Fake Dossier paid for by Crooked Hillary and the DNC, and improperly used in FISA COURT for surveillance of my campaign. WITCH HUNT!

Trump was talking about the now discredited “Russian collusion” conspiracy theory concocted by Democrats, which held that the president had worked in cahoots with Russia to turn the 2016 presidential election in his favor, for which an extensive two year investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller found no evidence.

During the 2016 campaign, the FBI applied for a FISA court warrant to conduct surveillance against Trump’s then-campaign advisor Carter Page, who was suspected of communicating with Russia because of allegations in the “Steele dossier,” which has since been revealed to have been bogus. Page was never charged with a single crime over this.

The government was spying on Trump’s campaign, something Trump must still know. The president shared on X in July 2018, “Looking more & more like the Trump Campaign for President was illegally being spied upon (surveillance) for the political gain of Crooked Hillary Clinton and the DNC.”

In a 2021 Senate committee hearing with then-FBI Director Christopher Wray, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said that in cases where the government was eavesdropping on a non-U.S. citizen overseas as part of an investigation, “I’m actually fine with the FISA standard.”

But Paul added, “I’m not fine with the FISA standard for Americans, particularly Americans that are running for office. Particularly for the person running for the highest office who is interconnected with all kinds of countries and always will be.”

Libertarian-leaning Republicans like Paul and Massie have long been critics of the warrantless surveillance of Americans in general, not just elected officials. Trump’s own Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard reportedly also has concerns about renewing FISA’s Section 702 without reforms.

Along with Massie, the 20 Republicans who opposed the 18-month FISA renewal last week were Reps. Tim Burchett (R-TN), Eric Burlison (R-MO), Michael Cloud (R-TX), Andrew Clyde (R-GA), Andy Harris (R-MD), Mark Harris (R-NC), Scott Perry (R-PA), Ralph Norman (R-SC), Keith Self (R-TX), Andy Ogles (R-TN), Warren Davidson (R-OH), Diana Harshbarger (R-TN), Mary Miller (R-IL), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), John Rose (R-TN), Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Victoria Spartz (R-IN), Sheri Biggs (R-SC) and Eli Crane (R-AZ).

Independent journalist Nick Sortor caught Massie on camera leaving the House after that vote early Friday morning with a video timestamp of 2:31 a.m.

In other words, it had been a long night.

Sortor asked Massie, “Why do you think that they are continuing to try to force this through?”

Massie didn’t hesitate. “It’s a deep state. It’s a deep state,” he replied. “That’s what it does.”

It is what it does. Expect Speaker Mike Johnson to keep doing what he does also, especially between now and April 30.

We should hope Thomas Massie and this minority of civil liberties-minded Republicans keep doing what they’re doing, too.

OF COURSE: Democrat Propagandist Stephen Colbert to Interview Obama at Opening of His Presidential Center

When Obama’s hideous new presidential center opens in June, he is going to do a televised interview. After all, we haven’t really seen enough of Obama on TV over the years, have we?

To facilitate this riveting discussion, Obama has chosen Stephen Colbert, host of the Democrat power hour formerly known as the Late Show.

It’ll be fun to see how many people don’t tune in for this.

FOX News reports:

Obama chooses supporter Stephen Colbert for debut interview at controversial presidential center

For his first televised interview from the controversial Obama Presidential Center, Barack Obama is turning to a familiar ally: Stephen Colbert.

The sit-down comes just weeks before Colbert is set to exit late-night television after CBS and parent company Paramount canceled “The Late Show.” Obama’s decision to sit down with Colbert, an adoring fan of the former president, drew derision from some conservative commentators.

Colbert has long been a Democratic supporter, notably emceeing a $26 million fundraiser for former presidents Joe Biden, Bill Clinton and Obama at Radio City Music Hall in 2024.

The former president has appeared multiple times on Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report” and “The Late Show.” During a 2020 interview, Colbert told Obama he needed to “drink [Obama] in” because he missed seeing a real president.

He also once cooed, “I miss you” to a clip of Obama on his show during Trump’s first term.

The announcement of the interview prompted criticism from Outkick writer Ian Miller, who argued Colbert has long traded comedy for partisan activism.

“Stephen Colbert going out the way he came in, absolutely refusing to do comedy and putting on the most boring, generic left wing talk show imaginable,” he wrote on X.

The one upside in all of this is that by the time this happens, Colbert will be off the air. Having killed the Late Show, he is going to have to find a new gig to ruin. Maybe he’ll end up at MSNOW. Isn’t that where he should have been all along?

Bernie Sanders Advisers Launching Campus Outreach Organization Because Apparently, American College Students Don’t Get Enough Exposure to Leftism

Senator Bernie Sanders – Screencap of Twitter/X video.

Advisers for Bernie Sanders are launching a new organization to reach out to and recruit college students. Apparently, they don’t think that American college students get enough exposure to far left ideas.

Is this the dumbest thing you have ever heard?

In fact, the reason they are doing this is because they are genuinely worried about the effective efforts of Turning Point USA, the conservative campus organization founded by the late Charlie Kirk.

The left sees what TPUSA is doing and it’s scaring the hell out of them.

The Washington Post reports:

Liberals launch college project to counter Turning Point USA

A liberal media outlet founded by advisers to Sen. Bernie Sanders launched a project Monday to counter Turning Point USA’s growing conservative influence and presence on college campuses.

More Perfect University, created by the advocacy journalism nonprofit More Perfect Union, will focus on recruiting and training liberal content creators on campuses across the country, organizers said.

“We’ve seen the success of the right, and we aim to rival it by being a thought leader on campuses,” Faiz Shakir, founder and executive director of More Perfect Union, said in a statement.

The group runs one of the fastest-growing, left-wing channels on YouTube and has attracted attention across the political spectrum.

The new effort will have three main components: on-campus events, including live interviews, debates and podcast tapings; a national digital community on email and Discord; and students trained to produce a pipeline of stories for the organization’s online platforms. The organization said it plans to prioritize public and working-class campuses.

Instead of creating local chapters with members and dues, More Perfect Union said the college students will film short videos, make podcasts and report stories in their local communities.

This is utterly pointless.

The whole reason that Turning Point USA is successful is because it offers an alternative to the left wing culture and thinking that dominates college campuses. What is the point of a left wing version?

What an absolute waste of time.

Watch Greg Gutfeld Take Down Jessica Tarlov Over the Fake Racism Created by the Southern Poverty Law Center (VIDEO)

Screencap of Twitter/X video.

Another epic battle between Greg Gutfeld and Jessica Tarlov unfolded on The Five yesterday.

Despite all of the evidence that the Southern Poverty Law Center manufactured racism with payoffs, Jessica is clinging to the stupid notion that there are white supremacists around every corner in the United States.

Gutfeld challenged her stupid position and the sparks flew.

Transcript via Real Clear Politics:

JESSICA TARLOV: Three Percenters, Oathkeepers, Proud Boys. You think they’re all fake?

GREG GUTFELD: You’re saying this wasn’t created? You’re saying this was just an organic event, just like every left-wing event—it just happened! All these right-wingers showed up? Nobody else knew about it?

JESSICA TARLOV: These people are real. The white supremacists are real. They got the call to action?

GREG GUTFELD: Let me do the simplest analogy. This is like when somebody says, on average, men are taller and weigh more than women, and then one woman goes, “What about her?” and points to a WNBA player.

Yes, I’ll give you—there is probably a bigot somewhere—but you guys created this ‘false flag’ that there was an immense white supremacist movement going on in this country, and that put targets on people like Charlie Kirk’s back, and he’s dead now. And a lot of other people were either threatened or physically attacked because of a false flag, which basically painted millions of people as ‘white supremacists.’ You guys ran with it.

Imagine if Trump had not won and Kamala Harris had won. Imagine where the SPLC would be now. Imagine how torn apart this country would be.

By the way, I hope that this thing mends, but I don’t know, because there are people like you, Jessica, who have such a sunk cost in this belief—this is a belief you were tricked into believing—that there is always all these racists hiding behind every Cracker Barrel.

No—you know where the racists were? The anti-racist Black activists who saw this as a way to go after whites. This racism that you created was designed to allow for a different kind of racism.

And I go back to the contrast: we don’t have to defend our racists because we don’t know who they are, because you create them. Meanwhile, we don’t have to make up your racists, because you’re standing there with Hasan Piker. These guys are right there in our face.

Here’s the video:

Poor Jessica. She just doesn’t get it. As usual.
