Trump said Schumer’s comments were some of the most “egregious, incorrect, unpatriotic, and dangerous statements” ever uttered by a sitting politician.
Schumer made the vile remarks while criticizing a Republican-led funding blueprint that would provide billions more for ICE and Border Patrol operations.
“America is crying out for relief from high costs, and you’re here adding $140 billion to an agency that nobody — two groups — Border Patrol and ICE, that nobody respects in this country,” the Democrat politician claimed.

Trump demanded an immediate apology to the men and women of Border Patrol and ICE, writing:
“Wow! Cryin’ Chuck Schumer just said, for the whole World to hear, that ‘NOBODY RESPECTS BORDER PATROL OR ICE.’ That is one of the most egregious, incorrect, unpatriotic, and dangerous statements I have EVER heard from a ‘professional’ politician. HE MUST IMMEDIATELY APOLOGIZE TO THESE GREAT PATRIOTS, AND I MEAN NOW!”
Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso responded that ICE and Border Patrol agents are not the problem, “Democrats are.”
“Today’s Democrats are a rogue and radical party,” Barrasso said. “You deserve better than reckless Democrat hostage-taking. You deserve the tools and support from Congress necessary to carry out the mission Congress has given you. Our country depends on you.”

The Senate GOP’s plan would fund both agencies for the remainder of President Donald Trump’s term. Republicans want to front-load the agencies with over $70 billion out of concern that Democrats would never agree to allocate taxpayer dollars to them again.
Lawmakers dashed through amendment vote after amendment vote, with Democrats teeing up several add-ons to the budget blueprint designed to attack Republicans.
Several of the Democratic amendments targeted affordability and economic issues in the country, and all failed along party lines.

Humans act like they’re at the very top of the food chain – until a bear walks by.
A Ursine encounter is one of the most terrifying experiences in the natural world.
There are various schools of thought about what a person should (or should not) do when faced with such a situation.
Yesterday (22), a terrifying video surfaced showing a massive brown bear charging toward a hiker in California’s Angeles National Forest.
One peculiar aspect of the video is that the hiker makes the unusual – and apparently unadvisable – decision to move towards the animal, instead of backing down.
The New York Post reported:
“In the video, a man dressed in hiking gear and wearing a hat is seen walking toward the bear—not away—and shaking bells in an apparent attempt to scare it off.
Instead, the agitated animal appears to charge toward him before the video cuts off. The close, face-to-face encounter—just feet apart—was captured by another hiker nearby.”

“’I was thinking this guy is crazy, and I hope nothing happens to him’, Erin Chiu, who recorded the video, told NBCLA. ‘I’m not sure what was going through his mind, to be honest, because the last thing you would expect is for someone to actually walk toward a bear. At that point, I was a little concerned for his safety.”
Chiu reportedly hikes the same trail three times a week and had never seen a bear before.
“The hiker was eventually able to slowly back away as the bear moved toward him. Experts say the most important thing to remember if you encounter a bear is simple: do not run.”
Terrifying footage captured the moment a hiker came face-to-face with and was charged by a brown bear on a hiking trail in Sierra Madre.

Jenna Bush Hager interviewed Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Joe Biden, and her father, George W. Bush.

Former Presidents Joe Biden, Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton are sharing a message of optimism with Americans as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary.
The four presidents each spoke individually with Jenna Bush Hager in a TODAY exclusive on April 21 in which they expressed their hope for the future and affirmed the principles they believe are a bedrock of American government and civic life.
Jenna spoke with Biden, 83; Obama, 64; Clinton, 79; and her father, 79, at a private event in Philadelphia over the weekend called “History Talks,” which was hosted by The History Channel.
The event traditionally features former presidents and was done in partnership with Comcast, the parent company of NBCUniversal. President Donald Trump is also working with The History Channel on an America 250 project that they plan to announce later this spring.
Joe Biden, 83, regurgitated old talking points.
“We’re the most unique country in the world,” Biden said.
“Most unique country in the world in the sense that we really do think democracy is dictated by the rule of the Constitution. And we do believe and we act, we do well, that all men are created equal,” Biden added before they cut his clip.
“I’m not sure we’re as divided as we portray,” Biden said.
“I’m sure there’s anywhere from 15% to 30% of the people who are on the one end here. But I think the vast majority of people are coming around to conclude that those things that they don’t even think about it directly, but are the safeguards in the Constitution,” Biden said.

One of the most endangered members of Congress has seemingly vanished over the last month and his colleagues are completely bewildered over what is going on.
As Politico reported, Rep. Tom Kean Jr. (R-N.J.) has not been seen by his fellow House members for over one month. He was last spotted on Capitol Hill back on March 5, which is the last time he voted.
Since then, Kean has missed almost 50 roll call votes.
More alarmingly, his GOP colleagues have heard only “radio silence” when trying to reach out to him. No calls or texts.
From Politico:
The other two Republicans in the New Jersey delegation, Reps. Chris Smith and Jeff Van Drew, said they have called and texted Kean out of concern for his health. But so far, neither said they have heard from him. Van Drew said it’s been “radio silence.”
Several New York Republicans who have worked with Kean on key issues said similarly. Kean’s absence has largely fallen under the radar and GOP leaders haven’t addressed the issue to the conference, according to several Republicans.
One Republican, Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.), said he didn’t even realize Kean had been missing until he tried to find him on the House floor Tuesday.
“I was looking for him,” Bacon said in an interview Wednesday. “I didn’t know it was that long.”
Democrats have noticed as well.
“It’s been a long absence,” New Jersey Democrat Rep. Rob Menendez told Politico. “I hope he’s doing all right. But I haven’t heard anything.”
Kean’s supporters, though, claim he is experiencing some “health issues” and will return soon.
“Everyone understands from their own family experiences that people run into unexpected health issues,” Bill Palatucci, a Republican National Committee member and attorney to the Kean campaign, told Politico.
“Voters will be completely sympathetic, and it’s so early in the year that it will be long forgotten come the fall.”
One can only hope Kean emerges from wherever he is soon, for his own sake and for the Republican Party’s.
Kean is considered one of the top Democrat targets this fall. Politico notes four major Democrat candidates have lined up for the right to take him on.
Kean represents New Jersey’s 7th Congressional district, a swing seat that voted for President Trump by a mere two points during the last presidential cycle. Joe Biden won Kean’s seat by four points in 2020.

Tiffany Score and Steven Mills, both Caucasian, underwent IVF at the Fertility Center of Orlando in Longwood, Florida, in 2020. They created and stored three viable embryos.
In April of last year, one embryo was implanted in Score’s uterus.
On December 11, she gave birth to a healthy baby girl, whom they named Shea.
Immediately, the couple noticed Shea displayed the physical appearance of a racially non-Caucasian child.
Genetic testing later confirmed that Shea has zero biological connection to Score or Mills.
DNA results showed she is 100% South Asian, according to a report from NBC News.
On Wednesday, the couple announced through their attorneys that genetic testing has now definitively identified Shea’s biological parents, a South Asian couple whose identities they are keeping confidential out of respect for their privacy.
As of now, the biological parents have made no request for custody, and Shea is now four months old.
In a joint statement to NBC, Score and Mills said:
“The results of testing delivered to us today confirm that our baby’s genetic parents have been identified… This ends one chapter in our heartbreaking journey, but it raises new issues that will have to be resolved. In addition, questions about the disposition of our own embryos are still unanswered and are even more unlikely to ever be answered.
Only one thing is as absolutely certain today as it was on the day our daughter was born — we will love and will be this child’s parents forever.”
Their attorney, Jack Scarola, added that the couple has an “intensely strong emotional bond” with Shea and plans to raise her as their own while acknowledging she “should legally and morally be united with her genetic parents” if they are fit, able, and willing.
The couple filed a lawsuit in January against the Fertility Center of Orlando and its head reproductive endocrinologist, Dr. Milton McNichol.
The lawsuit alleges gross negligence in the implantation of another patient’s embryo instead of one of the couple’s own stored embryos.
The clinic has already announced it will permanently close by May 20, citing “thoughtful consideration.”
Attorney Scarola noted that the lawsuit will remain open to address the fate of the couple’s unaccounted-for embryos, as well as compensation for the family’s massive expenses and “severe emotional trauma.”

When Viktor Orbán was voted out in Hungary, on April 12, liberals celebrated. His replacement, Péter Magyar, however, immediately pushed back against accepting migrants and appears to be the worst outcome for the left: a relative conservative who also holds broader internal support than Orbán ever had.
Magyar’s Tisza Party secured 138 seats in the 199-seat parliament on 53.6% of the vote, while Orbán’s Fidesz took just 55 seats with 37.8%. Magyar had been a high-ranking Fidesz insider and former husband of the Justice Minister, which allowed him to appeal to conservative rural voters while promising structural reforms to liberals, restoring the rule of law, combating corruption, and joining the European Public Prosecutor’s Office.
On the issues that defined Orbánism, Magyar is not breaking with his predecessor. He stated flatly that Hungary takes a “very strict stance on illegal migration,” that it will not accept “any pact or allocation mechanism,” and that the southern border fence will be kept and reinforced. From June 1, 2026, all work permits for non-European migrants will be terminated, with the aim of reducing new arrivals to zero. On sovereignty, Magyar stressed that Hungary’s history “is written by the Hungarian people, not in Moscow, not in Brussels, and not in Washington.”
Analysts have noted that Magyar’s positions on border control and demographics “remain in line with the anti-immigration and pro-family policy developed by Orbán, sometimes even appearing more radical than his predecessor.” Where he genuinely differs is on corruption, rule of law, and media freedom, and to a lesser degree on Russia. He has pledged to lift Hungary’s veto on the €90 billion EU loan to Ukraine, which Orbán had blocked, and has described Russia as a security risk.
But his positions on Ukraine stop well short of the EU mainstream. He opposes arms deliveries to Ukraine, opposes deploying Hungarian troops or transferring weapons from Hungarian territory, and insists Ukraine can only join the EU following a referendum in Hungary, according to the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. He has also said the rights of the Hungarian minority in Transcarpathia are being eroded.
On Russian energy, structural constraints are severe regardless of Magyar’s intentions. Hungary expanded its reliance on Russian crude from 61% in 2021 to 93% by 2025, according to the Center for the Study of Democracy. Magyar has promised to end Russian oil imports by 2035, but the country remains locked into long-term Gazprom contracts and the TurkStream pipeline. The Carnegie Endowment notes that the circle of Hungarian beneficiaries from energy dependence on Russia extends well beyond Orbán, meaning Magyar will face domestic resistance to any rapid shift.
Magyar now holds a 138-seat supermajority, the central question is whether he will use it to rebuild democratic checks and balances or manage the existing centralized system more efficiently. The Hungarian electorate, even while voting out Orbán, did not vote for open borders.
Just a week later, on April 19, Bulgaria held its eighth snap election in five years. Former President Rumen Radev’s Progressive Bulgaria party won 44.7% of the vote, securing roughly 130 of 240 parliamentary seats, and Radev will become prime minister. He ran on an anti-corruption, anti-oligarchy platform and, despite the party name, governs from a sovereigntist position rather than a conventional conservative one.
His positions on record include opposition to EU sanctions on Russia, resistance to cutting Russian gas and oil imports, and opposition to military and financial support for Ukraine. Bulgaria joined the eurozone in January 2026 but remains dependent on Russian energy, and Radev has signaled he will resist EU pressure to accelerate the transition away from it.
He opposes the EU Green Deal’s emissions timelines, arguing they damage the Bulgarian economy, and has pushed back against EU budget conditionality, the mechanism Brussels uses to attach policy requirements to funding. On social policy, he holds traditional positions on family and gender issues, resisting the progressive agenda advanced by Western EU members. The European Council on Foreign Relations assesses his posture as similar to Slovakia’s Robert Fico, willing to criticize Brussels and resist specific directives while remaining inside EU and NATO frameworks.
Immigration did not feature in the campaign. Bulgaria’s geography makes it a transit country rather than a destination, with migrants moving on to wealthier Western European states rather than settling. As the EU’s poorest member state, Bulgaria does not attract asylum seekers looking to remain, and Radev has no notable public position on the issue.
The common thread in both countries is voter exhaustion with established political elites and fragile coalitions. Both Magyar and Radev won on anti-corruption platforms, both resist Brussels dictating domestic policy, both oppose the EU Green Deal’s imposed timelines, and neither supports sending weapons to Ukraine.
Across the Channel, Nigel Farage’s Reform UK has taken the lead in Westminster voting intentions at 27% as of April 21, 2026, polling 10 points ahead of both the Conservatives and Labour, running on an anti-immigration, pro-sovereignty platform pulling voters from both traditional parties.
At the EU level, even with Orbán’s personal defeat, the European Conservatives and Reformists and the Patriots for Europe groups are projected to hold significant positions. In Poland, Greece, and Lithuania, center-right EPP member parties have consolidated as the strongest national forces, and in Denmark the Danish People’s Party saw significant inroads in recent elections.

Reality star turned Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt joined the Adam Carolla Show to discuss the shocking realities of the city’s homeless crisis and how ‘medical street teams’ fuel the problem.
Pratt told Carolla, “If you fund public safety and quality of life, guess who loses billions of dollars? The NGOs that give the kickbacks, that get these people elected, that come up with the fancy names.”
“The billions aren’t missing, they’re spent. But how they spend them is to increase the problem.”
“I was talking to this law enforcement guy that was at this community event. He said yesterday….crazed dude peeing, pooping everywhere on the street in front of all these kids at school. And they get ’em under control. And then one of the health people comes, and they go, ‘Would you like a pipe or a needle?’”
“And this law enforcement goes, ‘Excuse me?’ Like, ‘Yes, we can give them a pipe or a needle.’ He’s like, ‘What?’ And this is what we’re talking about. These are the medical street teams that Nithya and Bass to give them pipes and needles. It’s insane.”
“And what the reality is, every one of these people is breaking the law. You cannot live on the street. You cannot do drugs on the street. You cannot be naked on the street. And people go, ‘Well, what are you gonna do, Spencer? Where are you gonna put these people?’”
“Well, first off, most of these people are not from California. They’ve been bussed in by body brokers because it’s such a business. These people make so much money. So once you shut down the business, and you go in and you unplug all these NGOs, they’re gonna go to Seattle, or they’re gonna go out and they’re gonna grab all these people, are gonna put them on busses themselves, because these are their products. This is where they make the money.”
“So yes, again, homeless has different boxes. There are sad stories. People miss a rent here and there. You got to help these people and get them housing. We have housing for these people, people that are fentanyl addicts, they need more fentanyl. People are meth addicts, they need more meth. You could give them the Four Seasons right now, master suite, they don’t care.”
“They’ll rather hang sideways on the sidewalk till they sober up and get new fentanyl. So these people need mandatory medical treatment. We need to bring asylums back. We need to have places that treat people for mental health conditions, not just say we need more affordable housing, we need more beds.”
Carolla added, “Well, okay, here’s what they do. They give something a title. The title should be street junkies, but they call them homeless, and then they call them the unhoused community. So if you’re an unhoused person, then you need a house. After the fires, you were unhoused, and so were thousands of people in the Palisades and thousands of people in Malibu and in Altadena.”
“So you and your family are technically the definition of unhoused because your house has burnt to the ground. Did you sleep on the street that night? And have you been on the street since? Or do you have a network? Did you go somewhere?”
“I was unhoused. I went to a hotel. I gave them my credit card. I checked in. I had friends calling me from Kimmel to Mark Garrigos to Dr. Drew asking if I needed to stay with them in their guest house or in their home because I’m not a junkie.”
