A ten-year-old girl was found dead inside a residence in Piedmont, Alabama, late Friday night, just minutes after her family reported her missing.

Another juvenile has been taken into custody and charged with the murder of the child, Aliceanna Bigbee.

Piedmont Police Department officers responded to a call about a missing child shortly before 11 p.m.

They arrived at the home and tragically discovered Katheryn inside less than an hour later.

On Tuesday, it was reported that the little girl was stabbed to death.

Calhoun County Corner Pat Brown says Katheryn Aliceanna Bigbee was stabbed multiple times.

Authorities responded to Bigbee’s home Friday night, April 17, just before 11 p.m., Chief Nathan Johnson says his department got a call about a missing child. Officers responded to a home in the Asberry church area where they say they found Bigbee inside the home.

Chief Johnson says first responders treated her at the scene. She was then taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead. Johnson says another juvenile was taken into custody and is being charged with murder.

“When the parents were alerted by some noise and they got up to see what the noise was, the child wasn’t in the bedroom, and that’s what led to the missing person’s call,” said Johnson.

“I couldn’t imagine coming home to some news like that, you know it would just break my heart, and I feel for the family that’s going through what they’re going through right now, and we’re praying for them,” said Adrian Fitten of Piedmont.

Piedmont Police Chief Nathan Johnson addressed the incident in a statement, saying officers “tragically discovered a deceased juvenile inside the home.”

Following a swift investigation, another juvenile was taken into custody and formally charged with murder.

Due to the ages of both the victim and the suspect, authorities have withheld additional details, including the suspect’s name, exact age, gender, and any relationship to Katheryn.

Katheryn’s family is devastated.

Blake Trammell, who is in a relationship with Katheryn’s mother, shared an emotional post on Facebook:

“Our family has been torn to pieces, and we have lost the most amazing, sweetest little girl. She was a light in any room she walked into. I cannot express the pain, guilt, and emptiness that has come from all of this. We don’t have answers, only more questions.”

A GoFundMe has been launched to support the family with funeral and final expenses.

Katheryn was a beloved student at Piedmont Elementary School.

The school released a statement saying, “We are heartbroken to share the loss of one of our precious students, Katheryn Bigbee. Our entire Piedmont Elementary School family is grieving as we remember a sweet little girl who brought smiles, kindness, and a bright light to our halls each day. Katheryn had a joyful, spunky personality that made her truly special. She was an enthusiastic reader and will be remembered for the happiness she shared so freely.”

Two US Embassy officials were among four people killed in a fiery car crash in Chihuahua, Mexico, over the weekend after a raid on a massive drug lab.

The New York Times later reported that the two US officials were CIA officers. Their identities have not been publicly released.

According to CBS and the Associated Press, two Mexican officials were in the vehicle with the CIA officers when it veered off a road, went down a ravine, and exploded in a rural, mountainous area in Northern Mexico.

The CIA officials were not a part of the drug lab raid. According to reports, the US officials were part of a ‘training.’

US Ambassador to Mexico, Ronald Johnson, released a statement on the tragic deaths.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of two U.S. Embassy personnel, the Director of Chihuahua’s State Investigation Agency (AEI), and an AEI officer in this accident. We honor their dedication and tireless efforts to confront one of the greatest challenges of our time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and their loved ones,” Johnson said.

“This tragedy is a solemn reminder of the risks faced by those Mexican and U.S. officials who are dedicated to protecting our communities. It strengthens our resolve to continue their mission and advance our shared commitment to security and justice, to protect our people,” he said.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum demanded answers after the deadly crash. She said she was unaware of a joint operation with US officials and Mexican officials.

CBS News reported:

Four people, including two American embassy workers, were killed in a car accident following a major drug raid in northern Mexico, prosecutors said Sunday.

On Friday and Saturday, six clandestine synthetic drug labs were raided in Morelos, in the northern state of Chihuahua, after a three-month investigation, state prosecutor César Jáuregui told reporters.

Jáuregui initially said the accident happened while the officers were returning from the drug raids, but after Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said she was unaware of any U.S. participation in the operations, the prosecutor later said the Americans weren’t involved in those operations.

“It was not an operation that the security cabinet was aware of,” Sheinbaum told journalists on Monday, according to The Associated Press. “We were not informed; it was a decision by the Chihuahua government.”

Sheinbaum said she would demand an explanation and noted any such collaboration would need to be approved by the federal government, “as established by the Constitution,” the AP reported.

A Democratic senator is coming under fire for appearing to cheer on the Iranian military as American soldiers’ lives remain at risk.

On Monday night, a report from an outlet called Lloyds List alleged that 26 Iranian shadow fleet vessels had bypassed US blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. As TGP readers know, the U.S. has implemented a naval blockade after negotiations between Iran and the United States failed to produce an agreement.

Iran, of course, has tried to use the Strait as a piggy bank, making ships pay a toll to pass through in an effort to rebuild their defenses.

Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) gloated after seeing the Lloyd’s List report, replying that the news was “awesome.”

Harvard law professor and constitutional attorney Alan Dershowitz has officially ditched the Democrat Party after 67 years and registered as a Republican.

In a powerful Wall Street Journal op-ed published Monday, Dershowitz blasted today’s Democrat Party as increasingly hostile toward Israel and dangerously consumed by radical ideology, warning that its current trajectory poses a serious threat to the country.

Over the past year, Dershowitz repeatedly warned that Democrats were abandoning core American values. He even pledged to campaign for Republicans in the 2026 midterms, saying he was “totally frightened” by the prospect of Democrats regaining power.

“I’m going to be supporting the Republicans in the midterm election. I’m hoping that the Republicans maintain control both of the House and the Senate,”

“The last thing I want is Chuck Schumer to be head of the Senate or Liz Warren to be chairperson of a committee or AOC to be chairperson of a committee.”

“The Democrats have not only lost my votes, but they have made me an enemy, essentially, by how they’ve moved away from American values, Israeli values and values of decency,” he continued. “I’m not a Republican, but I am a very anti-Democrat. I’m against the Democratic Party. I will do anything to see Mamdani defeated.”

On Monday, Dershowitz officially left the Democrat Party.

Dershowitz wrote in WSJ:

I am a lifelong Democrat. I started campaigning for the party’s local candidates as a teenager in Brooklyn, N.Y., have been a registered Democrat for 67 years, made speeches for John F. Kennedy as a college student, and can count on one hand the number of Republicans I’ve ever supported for any office.

I still disagree strongly with the GOP on abortion, the separation of church and state, immigration, healthcare and taxes, among other things. Yet I’ve decided to bite the bullet and register as a Republican.

I believe that the Democratic Party’s hostility to Israel represents a deeper and more dangerous shift away from the center and toward a radical approach that is bad for America and the free world. So I intend to work hard to prevent the Democrats from gaining control of the House and Senate, and I urge those who share my concerns about the increasing influence of radicalism in the Democratic Party to vote, campaign and contribute for continued Republican control of Congress. I will contribute money to Republican candidates, campaign for them, make speeches at Republican events, and urge pro-Israel Americans to change party affiliation or at least vote against Democrats. Until something changes, I will vote Republican for representative, senator and president.

I wish I could designate myself as a “foreign-policy Republican,” but there’s no such option, so I have to go whole hog. By registering as a Republican rather than an independent, maybe I can have some influence on moving some Republican policies toward the center. I have given up on trying to change the Democratic Party. My main goal is to send a message that many traditional Democratic voters can’t accept what it is becoming—a replica of left-wing European parties that are hurting their countries.

John Thune is determined to bring Democrats into power for decades to come.

He hates MAGA voters so much that he will not pass the Save America Act.

In yet another blatant betrayal of President Donald Trump and the America First agenda, Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) has once again shown his true RINO colors by flatly refusing to make any changes to Senate rules that would allow the critical SAVE America Act to pass.

This comes as Trump ramps up pressure on the GOP establishment to secure our elections before the midterms, but Thune is more interested in protecting the swamp than fighting for the American people.

“Yeah, that’s not going to happen,” Thune said on Monday when pressed by ABC News about altering the Senate’s 60-vote threshold to advance legislation.

This stonewalling directly undermines Trump’s urgent call to pass the SAVE America Act, which would crack down on voter fraud and ensure only American citizens vote in our elections.

“The president clearly is very interested in getting the SAVE America bill up and voted on, although he wants a modified version of it, and so we’ll do our best to do that,” Thune said, paying lip service to Trump’s demands while admitting he can’t – or won’t – guarantee results.

“But the one thing I’ve said all along is, and I’ve told him and others, that I can’t guarantee an outcome. I can’t guarantee a result. If the result is only achieved by nuking the legislative filibuster, we don’t have the votes to do that and so that’s not a — that’s just not a realistic option.”

This spineless stance follows Trump’s explosive Sunday post on his social media platform, where he threatened to veto all legislation until the SAVE America Act lands on his desk.

“Great Job by hard working Scott Pressler on Fox & Friends talking about using the Filibuster, or Talking Filibuster, in order to pass THE SAVE AMERICA ACT, an 88% issue with ALL VOTERS. It must be done immediately. It supersedes everything else. MUST GO TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE.

“I, as President, will not sign other Bills until this is passed, AND NOT THE WATERED DOWN VERSION – GO FOR THE GOLD: MUST SHOW VOTER I.D. & PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP: NO MAIL-IN BALLOTS EXCEPT FOR MILITARY – ILLNESS, DISABILITY, TRAVEL: NO MEN IN WOMEN’S SPORTS: NO TRANSGENDER MUTILIZATION FOR CHILDREN! DO NOT FAIL!!!”

Trump even floated the idea of a “talking filibuster” to bypass the current rules.

But Thune poured cold water on that too, warning that without rule changes, it could turn into a “monthslong” ordeal wasting precious Senate time, according to ABC News.

“Our time in the Senate is a finite resource and it’s something that we need to use wisely and well to get as much done as we can,” Thune lectured, as if protecting our democracy from fraud isn’t the top priority.

Last month, Thune admitted that his colleagues from the RINO club are “not unified” on using the talking filibuster to force a vote on the SAVE Act.

This isn’t Thune’s first rodeo in backstabbing Trump. Senate Majority Leader John Thune unveiled a procedural scheme to block President Donald Trump from making any critical appointments during the August recess, effectively aiding the Democrats’ obstructionist agenda.

Under the U.S. Constitution, the president can make “recess appointments,” temporary appointments to federal positions, if the Senate is in recess and not conducting business. These appointments don’t require immediate Senate confirmation and can last until the end of the next session of Congress.

But there’s a loophole: if the Senate holds pro forma sessions, very short, symbolic meetings where no actual business is conducted, then technically, the Senate is still in session. That means the president cannot legally make recess appointments during that time.

In its fifth year, the conflict seems somewhat less intense, but while Ukrainian forces did claim some victories on the ground, the Russian advance towards fulfilling its goals in the war is ongoing.

Top General Valery Gerasimov announced that Russian forces have conquered 656 square miles of territory in Ukraine this ‌year, and are in the process of advancing on the Slavyansk- Kramatorsk fortress belt in Donetsk – the last bastion held by Kiev in the region that’s the cradle of this war.

Reuters reported:

“’Since the ​beginning of this year, a total of 80 settlements and more than 1,700 square kilometers of territory have ​come under our control’, Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, said in footage released by the defense ministry on Tuesday.

While the advance of the Eastern Donetsk takes place, the Russians are also advancing in the north, creating a ‘buffer zone’ in Sumy and Kharkov regions.

Democratic Representative Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick stands at the center of a congressional storm as House leaders debate expulsion following a two-year ethics investigation that uncovered how she allegedly funneled millions in COVID relief funds into her 2022 campaign. Speaker Mike Johnson declared the facts “indisputable” and predicted her removal from Congress.

The COVID Money Trail

The investigation centers on a Florida state error that sent roughly $5 million in pandemic disaster relief to Cherfilus-McCormick’s family health care business. Ethics investigators spent two years examining how she received that money from the business and allegedly used it to finance her congressional campaign through a network of family members and related companies. She maintains her innocence on all charges, both criminal and ethical.

The House Ethics Committee conducted an exhaustive probe that included 59 subpoenas, 28 witness interviews, and review of more than 33,000 pages of documents. Community leaders in her South Florida district sent letters to committee leadership warning that expulsion could leave hundreds of thousands of constituents without representation during a critical period. Faith leaders and union officials urged the committee to proceed carefully.

Constitutional Threshold For Removal

Florida Republican Representative Greg Steube announced plans to move for expulsion once the Ethics Committee issues its punishment recommendation. The Constitution requires a two-thirds House vote for expulsion, a threshold historically difficult to reach and requiring enormous bipartisan support. House Democratic leaders have declined to condemn Cherfilus-McCormick publicly, saying they want the ethics process to conclude first.

What Happens Next

The Ethics Committee faces several punishment options including reprimand, censure, or financial penalties before considering the nuclear option of expulsion. Congress historically prefers letting voters decide lawmakers’ fates rather than removing elected representatives. Speaker Johnson’s prediction of expulsion suggests Republican leadership believes they can secure the necessary votes. The congresswoman continues serving while facing separate criminal charges related to the same alleged campaign finance violations.

The two called for the 25th Amendment to remove President Trump from office.

This is the same Buckley Carlson who helped write Trump’s speeches and defended him for years. Now he’s openly calling for his removal.

Tucker Carlson also said he regrets helping propel Donald Trump to the presidency, claiming the decision will haunt him for years to come.

TUCKER CARLSON: He can survive. So looking back— because you and I and everyone else who supported him, you wrote speeches for him, I campaigned for him. We’re implicated in this for sure. It’s not enough to say, “Well, I changed my mind,” or “Oh, this is bad, I’m out.” It’s like, in very small ways, but in real ways, you and me and millions of people like us are the reason this is happening right now.

So I do think it’s a moment to wrestle with our own consciences. We’ll be tormented by it for a long time. I will be. And I want to say I’m sorry for misleading people. It was not intentional. That’s all I’ll say.

But anyway, the question does present itself immediately. Like, what is this? Was this always the plan? You don’t want to be a conspiracy nut, but clearly there were signs of low character. We knew that.

BUCKLEY CARLSON: Yes. But it didn’t—

TUCKER CARLSON: There are tons of people of low character who outperform their character.

BUCKLEY CARLSON: It doesn’t have to be sort of the norm, actually, these days. Right.

TUCKER CARLSON: I’ve outperformed my character a lot. I don’t have especially high character, right? But you try your best. But what was this? Was this always the plan?

BUCKLEY CARLSON: Looking back after the last year and a half, it seems like it kind of was. And it’s easy— Well, you could get really deep about it and say, “What was Butler?” Like, how was it that he— And Ryan Routh. I mean, he was subject to two legitimate assassination attempts. Have we ever gotten to the bottom? I know you’ve talked a lot about this, but have we ever gotten to the bottom?

TUCKER CARLSON: I haven’t talked a lot about it. I don’t know the answer, but I know that those investigations have been stymied.

BUCKLEY CARLSON: Fact. Yeah, stymied from the very top, from people who actually would have the power to get to the bottom and the motive. Yes. Yeah, very much. The enormous amount of money he got from Miriam Adelson now seems suspect. A lot of people at the time, you know, there’s a lot of money in politics. To run for president requires an enormous— I mean, Kathleen Hamilton went through $2 billion in 4 months. Sure, there’s an argument to be made that you get money from those who will give it to you. It’s just the nature of that game.

But it’s still reprehensible, and it’s still a big question mark. Why would someone who has this obvious and demonstrated allegiance to a foreign power give Donald Trump $250 million while he’s running for president? I mean, how is that defensible? It’s really not. If Russia had given a PAC for Trump, if the mayor of Moscow had somehow assembled an enormous amount of money and put it in a 501(c)(3) for Trump’s benefit, would that have been acceptable? Of course it wouldn’t have been.

So what did someone— it comes back to the money. What did they get in return for that amount of investment? And it’s clear. I get it.

I just think, given his behavior and his demonstrated disloyalty and viciousness to previous supporters, why didn’t he display the same lack of loyalty to Miriam Adelson? I mean, that’s kind of the question. The only people he’s been loyal to are the neocons and his donors.

So he attacks Islam. Some of us stand up and say, probably shouldn’t be attacking a religion. “Oh, you’re a Muslim, secret Muslim. You love Muslims.” No, I like reverence, and I don’t think you should attack people on the basis of their religion.

BUCKLEY CARLSON: You don’t attack the religion. Yes.

TUCKER CARLSON: And all these evangelicals are like, “Oh, you see, you’re a Muslim.” The next week he attacks Jesus. Wow. Okay, because it’s all connected, right?
