The WNBA leadership circus has somehow found another way to embarrass itself.

The league’s official social media account posted a video on Wednesday, appearing Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers and Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese agreeing to a $400 wager on the outcome of a game between their own teams.

Yes, the WNBA itself promoted the apparent bet.

The clip, recorded during the league’s All-Star Weekend in Chicago, showed Reese holding a stack of $100 bills while discussing the wager with Bueckers.

“This is how the rich stay rich,” Bueckers joked during the exchange.

The WNBA later shared the footage ahead of Wednesday night’s Dream-Wings matchup with a laughing caption referencing “the bet” between the two players.

There was just one enormous problem.

The WNBA’s own rulebook explicitly prohibits players from wagering on league games.

After fans began highlighting the apparent violation, the post vanished but not before users captured and circulated the video across social media.

The controversy only grew after Atlanta rallied from a 15-point deficit to defeat Dallas 82-81.

Reese finished with 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Bueckers recorded 17 points and six assists.

Following the victory, Reese appeared to reference the wager on X, writing, “DUBS IN THE MF CHAT” with the hashtag “#cuatrocientos,” Spanish for 400.

She also reportedly joked during her postgame press conference that she would be requesting her Apple Pay from Bueckers.

Article XIV, Section 5(c) of the league’s newly negotiated 2026 Collective Bargaining Agreement prohibits players from directly or indirectly wagering—or attempting to wager—money or anything of value on any aspect of a WNBA competition.

The commissioner is authorized to impose a fine, suspension, dismissal or permanent disqualification following a hearing.

This was not an obscure rule buried in an outdated handbook. The current agreement became effective in March 2026.

The WNBA later admitted that its social media post “missed the mark” and said the matter had been “addressed internally.”

The league claimed the exchange was intended to be lighthearted and said players receive annual training about its anti-gambling policies.

According to the statement obtained by Fox News:

“While the social media post was intended to be lighthearted, WNBA players are well aware of the league’s policies prohibiting betting on WNBA games and receive training every year reinforcing those policies. We recognized that the post missed the mark, removed it shortly after it was published, and addressed the matter internally. We will also use this as an opportunity to reemphasize with the players involved that conversations about wagering on WNBA games, even when intended as a joke, can have negative consequences.”

According to The Associated Press, however, Bueckers and Reese will not be punished. So there it is.

Commissioner Cathy Engelbert apparently chose to treat the league’s rulebook as optional after her own social media staff promoted the apparent violation to the public.

Italy’s conservative government is considering extraordinary border controls as Spain’s socialist open-borders experiment erupts into chaos.

The Gateway Pundit reported earlier that Spain’s border police were overwhelmed as thousands of mostly young men poured into the Spanish enclave from Morocco, forcing businesses to close and local officials to demand troops.

Spain’s border with Africa descended into “absolute chaos” Thursday as thousands of migrants stormed into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta from neighboring Morocco.

Videos from Tarajal Beach showed enormous crowds swimming around breakwaters, scaling barriers, breaking through a border gate, and running through the streets. Most appeared to be young men, although women and children were also among the arrivals.

Spain’s national broadcaster TVE reported that between 2,000 and 3,000 migrants crossed into Ceuta within hours.

A Spanish Guardia Civil spokesman said migrants were “massively entering from the sea” after completely overwhelming border authorities.

“The situation is absolute chaos,” Rachid Sbihi, who leads the association representing Guardia Civil officers in Ceuta, said. “There are thousands of migrants crossing.”

Sbihi said the border had “totally collapsed.”

Footage showed migrants using inflatable tubes and other flotation devices to reach Spanish territory. Others reportedly broke through a gate or climbed the heavily fortified border fence.

Ceuta’s leader, Juan Jesús Vivas, declared an “absolute humanitarian and social emergency.” Facilities for unaccompanied minors are operating at 2,400% of capacity.

Hundreds are sleeping outdoors. Vivas begged Madrid to declare a national emergency and deploy the army to restore control of the border, warning the situation risks matching the 2021 crisis when roughly 10,000 people flooded the enclave in days, according to Reuters.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is threatening to suspend Schengen travel arrangements with Spain after thousands of illegal migrants overwhelmed security forces and poured into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta from Morocco.

Meloni issued a blistering statement following the border collapse:

“The images coming from Ceuta are striking and demonstrate, once again, that uncontrolled illegal immigration poses a concrete threat to the security of Europe’s borders.

“I have spoken with Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi. Italy will not stand by and watch. We are convening the relevant bodies, and following these meetings, we are prepared to intervene with extraordinary measures to defend the borders and the safety of citizens, including the suspension of the Schengen Area with Spain.

“On illegal immigration, we will not yield an inch: defending the borders, stopping human traffickers, and ensuring effective repatriations will continue to be the line of this Government.”

Meloni’s government is reportedly considering temporarily reinstating checks on travelers arriving from Spain. Although officials have described the proposal as “suspending Schengen with Spain,” the practical effect would be the reintroduction of internal border controls rather than the cancellation of visas.

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani immediately backed the proposal.

“I am in favor of closing the Schengen Area with Spain,” Tajani wrote, warning that “irregular and uncontrolled immigration represents a danger to national security.” He also blasted Madrid’s mass-regularization policy, arguing that it encourages additional human trafficking. ANSA reported that Tajani expressed full confidence in Interior Minister Piantedosi.

Ceuta and Melilla, both Spanish territories located on the North African coast, form the European Union’s only land borders with Africa.

As The Gateway Pundit reported in June, Meloni directly confronted Sánchez during an EU leaders’ meeting and warned that Spain’s unilateral immigration policies would inevitably affect the rest of Europe.

Those warnings were ignored. Now the border has erupted.

The victim found dead at a home owned by Democrat Rep. Ayanna Pressley’s was identified last week as 18-year-old Yoseliani Marte.

Marte was found shot to death on July 18.

On Thursday, the medical examiner ruled the victim’s death a homicide.

As TGP previously reported, a death investigation was underway earlier this month at a home owned by the husband of far-left Democrat Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) after a body was discovered on the property, according to Boston police.

Authorities responded to the Mattapan residence after reports of a deceased individual on the grounds of the property. The home is owned by Pressley’s husband, Conan Harris, Boston Globe first reported.

Harris and Pressley do not reside at the Mattapan property.

The victim’s family revealed that Marte lost her life as a result of domestic violence.

“With shattered hearts, I share the unimaginable loss of my beloved daughter Yoseliani, who tragically lost her life at just 18 years old as a result of domestic violence,” the GoFundMe said.

“No words can truly express the pain of losing someone so young, with so many dreams, hopes, and milestones still ahead of her. Yoseliani was deeply loved by her family, friends, and everyone whose life she touched. Her kindness, beautiful spirit, and bright future will never be forgotten,” the GoFundMe said.

“Domestic violence has taken a beautiful young life far too soon. We hope that, through the love and support of this community, my family can find comfort in knowing we are not facing this tragedy alone,” they said.

An 18-year-old woman who was found dead inside a home owned by the husband of Massachusetts Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley was murdered, authorities announced Thursday.

Officers responding to the home at 25 Malta Road in the city’s Mattapan neighborhood just before 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, found Yoseliani Ann Marte Ocasio suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, according to the Boston Police Department.

Ocasio was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner officially ruled her death a homicide on Thursday, according to police.

Ocasio’s mother, Elenie Ocasio, previously told Boston 25 News on July 20 that she believed her daughter was the victim of a homicide.

“This coward killed my baby. He put a gun to her head, took my baby in that house and left her to die,” Elenie said.

Pragmatism is very welcome.

Many think that the former Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham is a Premier without a real popular mandate, since during the general election the leader was the failed Keir Starmer with a different set of policies – and that he should call snap elections to submit his name and program to the people’s will.

And that’s very much true.

But it’s also true that, along with a lot of leftist damaging policy ideas, Burnham also has taken some defensible decisions: be it allowing the US use of the Diego Garcia airbase for strikes against Iran, or halting the insane ‘early release’ of criminals, or even defying his own party to cut pension waste, there are some good, common-sense decisions.

One of the most promising of these positive developments arose today, as reports indicate Burnham is signaling that he’s ‘ready to ditch Ed Miliband’s Net Zero stance’ and admits Britain ‘can’t ignore’ North Sea oil and gas.

President Trump announced on Thursday that his Board of Peace has reached an agreement to disarm Hamas and “all other armed groups in Gaza,” Trump said. 

According to Axios, Hamas is expected to sign in the coming days, multiple sources say.

Trump announced the “Board of Peace”, which he heads and chairs, to run the Gaza Strip, in his 20-point Gaza Peace Plan last September.

This comes amid continued fighting between Israel and Hamas in Gaza since the collapse of the ceasefire. Video from earlier this week shows Israeli forces launching an airstrike against a mosque in Gaza City. The Israeli Defense Forces said the mosque was being used as one of Hamas’s “weapons storage facilities.”

As disarmament is completed, Israeli forces will withdraw, and the International Stabilization Force will work with a new Palestinian police force to take responsibility for Gaza being safe for its residents and its neighbors.”

According to Axios, Israeli officials are “highly skeptical” of Hamas’s commitment to disarming. Israeli forces, under the agreement, will withdraw to the “Yellow Line” in the Gaza Strip, and any further withdrawal will be contingent on Hamas’ complete disarmament.

“This is a good deal for Israel because it takes care of the Gaza problem,” a source involved in the negotiations said. “If Hamas cheats, everything stops, and Israel will not have given up anything.”

Senator Thom Tillis lashed out at Trump on Thursday after the president announced a plan to confirm Todd Blanche as Attorney General after the Senate Judiciary Committee delayed a key vote.

President Trump on Thursday announced a plan to circumvent RINO Senators Cornyn and Tillis after they tried to derail Todd Blanche’s confirmation for Attorney General.

The Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday evening postponed a key vote to advance Todd Blanche’s nomination for Attorney General.

The Senate Judiciary Committee was set to vote on Blanche’s nomination on Thursday morning.

However, Chairman Chuck Grassley postponed the markup vote as RINO Senators Tillis and Cornyn make demands from the DOJ on its language related to restricting Trump’s IRS agreement.

Per Grassley’s spokesperson: “Chairman Grassley works to set President Trump’s nominees up for success in committee, not failure. Senators Cornyn and Tillis want written assurances from the Department of Justice regarding the Trump-IRS settlement. Tomorrow’s markup is postponed as work continues to secure sufficient support in committee to favorably report Attorney General-nominee Todd Blanche, who is highly qualified for the job.”

On Thursday morning, President Trump said he may temporarily withdraw Todd Blanche’s nomination until Senators Cornyn and Tillis leave office.

Tillis lashed out at President Trump later Thursday.

“The president’s getting bad advice. He should listen to Blanche and others who think if it’s dead, it should be rendered completely dead,” a pompous Tillis told CNN’s Manu Raju.

Tillis attacked Trump’s ‘advisor’ who supposedly wants to bring back the weaponization fund.

An infuriating tragedy unfolded this month as an illegal migrant killed a Connecticut police officer and his girlfriend in a traffic ‘accident,’ and the news gets even more outrageous.

As The New York Post reported on Tuesday, 27-year-old Melissa Ramirez, who is from Mexico, was speeding in a 45 mph zone when she smacked into 38-year-old Connecticut policeman Cooper Whiteside’s Harley Davidson on July 13.

This sent Whiteside and his 34-year-old girlfriend, Brittany Islami, flying through the air. Both were killed.

Per the Post, police stumbled upon a horrific scene:

Whiteside, a Bridgeport police officer, was found “lying in a supine position” and he sustained “significant injuries to his head, upper extremities and torso,” police said in their report.

“His right femur was protruding through the skin,” cops added, noting there was a “large pool of blood” in the road.

Islami — a mom to three children aged 7, 10, and 12 — suffered “significant injuries” and “had blood around her face,” police said, noting she wasn’t wearing a helmet.

When cops searched Ramierez’s vehicle, they found beer spilled all over the place. They also discovered a THC vape cartridge.

Cops found that Ramirez’s blood alcohol content was 0.14, which is almost twice the legal limit (0.08). She also tested positive for cannabis.

Aaron Wolen, one of the responding cops, revealed that he “noticed that her eyes were watery and bloodshot and that a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from her person.”

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed to The Post that Ramirez entered America illegally.

“Melissa Esperanza Ramirez-Romero is a criminal illegal alien with charges for Vehicular Manslaughter and DUI. On July 26, 2026, ICE lodged a detainer against her,” the department told the paper.

To make things even more infuriating, Ramirez is not only registered to vote in Connecticut but has voted REPEATEDLY.

We can all guess which party she has supported.

In addition, the Democrat-appointed judge LOWERED Ramirez’s bond from $500,000 to $300,000, citing her “deep ties to the community.”

Yet another black-robed tyrant who needs to be removed from the bench.

Ramierez has been charged with two counts of manslaughter, along with a DUI.

She appeared in court on Monday and is scheduled to make a second appearance on August 31.

The U.S.-Iran conflict has been playing out not only on the battlefield but also on the internet as an intense propaganda war. This extends to the parallel conflict between the United States and the Houthis, with Houthi media supporting Iran’s false narratives and Iran amplifying, as well as outright manufacturing, Houthi disinformation.

In Saada, the Houthi stronghold in northern Yemen, a rally billed as “Warning and Mobilization Friday” drew what Houthi official Yahya Nabih described as an unprecedented jihad undertaken “for God’s sake.” He said it was also a rejection of servitude to “the tyrants and criminals of the age.” Participants chanted slogans built around the rhyme, “aggression for aggression, siege for siege.”

Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi went further than Saree’s narrower framing in a separate address, declaring that “all Saudi oil facilities and vital installations are targets for our missiles and drones.” He also described Saudi inspections of incoming wheat and medicine shipments as an intolerable humiliation.

He further asserted that the Saudi enemy had “trapped itself” through its aggression against Yemen, a framing picked up nearly verbatim by Iran’s state outlet IranPress. Kremlin-backed RT Arabic also used similar language in its coverage.

Verification desks at CNN Arabic and Al Jazeera had to debunk footage claiming to show the Houthis’ July 13 missile-and-drone strike on Abha International Airport in southwestern Saudi Arabia. One widely shared clip traced back to 2019 coalition-released CCTV footage of an earlier Houthi attack on the same airport. Another traced to a 2022 Aramco storage fire in Jeddah.

Iran state and IRGC-linked propaganda apparatus has run a largely separate  campaign focused on the wider war rather than Houthi-branded material specifically, and it has leaned heavily on artificial intelligence. The IRGC’s official Telegram channel released an AI-generated video titled “One Vengeance for All” on March 24, depicting an Iranian ballistic missile strike on the United States, with Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB credited alongside the IRGC.

Two days later, Iran’s messaging apparatus had built a campaign mocking President Trump, including a Lego-style animated video depicting Iranian soldiers taking revenge on miniature Lego figures of Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, closing on a black screen reading, “your grave mistake of attacking us will be judged by history, and it won’t be in your favor.”

MEMRI’s Cyber & Jihad Lab, a project that monitors and translates cyber jihad activity across the Middle East, Iran, South Asia, and North and West Africa, has documented a growing pattern of AI-generated propaganda from Iran-aligned outlets.

In one case flagged by the lab, Iran-linked accounts posted AI-animated videos mocking President Trump and urging the IRGC to resume the war, released within hours of the U.S.-Iran ceasefire. The clips used cartoonish characters and symbolism to push anti-U.S. messaging and project readiness for renewed conflict.

The Houthis have followed a similar pattern. According to MEMRI Executive Director Steven Stalinsky, AI tools are being used by a rising generation within Hizbullah, Hamas, and Yemen’s Ansar Allah Movement to recruit new supporters, with members discussing AI strategy on closed encrypted platforms.

One Telegram channel tracked by the lab posted AI-generated images of Trump humiliated and defeated by the Houthis, standing before wreckage pierced by a jambiya, the traditional Yemeni dagger. A separate channel tied to Iran-backed militias in Iraq published an AI poster showing the Houthi military spokesman standing over a submissive Trump, foot on his neck.

The same Iraq-linked network has gone further than mockery. MEMRI documented an AI-generated video depicting an Iranian attack on U.S. forces in the Middle East, carrying a direct warning to American troops that their coffins were already on the way.

By July, the productions grew more targeted and personal. The clips were captioned on Telegram “who’s next.” The channel followed with a video titled “Bullseye Loomer” targeting commentator Laura Loomer, then created similar Lego-figure threats against Mark Levin, Miriam Adelson, Randy Fine, and Ben Shapiro. Loomer stated publicly she holds the IRGC directly responsible for the channel’s output.

Deadline’s reporting on the war’s information dimension cited the analytics firm Cyabra documenting a pro-Iran campaign that generated over 145 million views within days using tens of thousands of fake accounts. A Clemson University study cited in the same report found IRGC-linked accounts pushing AI-generated content across X, Instagram, and Bluesky to audiences in the millions. The reporting also noted the White House ran its own parallel campaign of “hype videos” blending real strike footage with Call of Duty and Top Gun imagery.

In May, Europol announced a 19-country operation targeting over 14,200 posts and links tied to the IRGC. The operation described AI-generated videos glorifying the corps alongside material linked to allied groups it named explicitly: Hezbollah, the Houthis, Hamas, and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Europol also confirmed the IRGC’s main X account, with over 150,000 followers, had been withheld in the EU.

Sen. Rand Paul, chair of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, announced that his panel will hold a vote next week on whether to certify Dr. Anthony Fauci in contempt of Congress after Fauci refused to answer questions at his high‑profile hearing. During Wednesday’s hearing, Fauci, appearing under subpoena, repeatedly invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self‑incrimination, declining to respond to more than 90 questions about issues including the destruction of federal records and the origins of COVID‑19.

Paul argued that Fauci’s reliance on the Fifth is “unsupported” because former President Joe Biden granted him a broad pardon for potential federal offenses between 2014 and early 2025, and said the committee would move forward with a contempt resolution despite the claimed privilege. At the hearing, Paul pressed Fauci on whether he had destroyed emails or other records during the period covered by the pardon, emphasizing that Fauci would face no federal criminal jeopardy for truthful answers but still refused to respond on counsel’s advice which raised questions.

In the wake of Fauci’s testimony, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of Florida took to X to urge attorneys general and governors in Florida, Texas, West Virginia and Arkansas to pursue state‑level charges against Fauci, accusing him of “crimes against children” and broader “crimes HE committed against HUMANITY” related to COVID‑19 vaccination policies. Responding publicly, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced that his office is opening an investigation into Fauci’s conduct during the pandemic to examine potential state offenses not covered by Biden’s federal pardon, calling Fauci’s repeated refusals to answer senators’ questions “unbelievable.”

Separately, former Deputy Assistant Attorney General John Yoo told Fox News viewers that any lies Fauci might tell under oath at Paul’s committee would constitute new federal crimes not shielded by the earlier pardon, because presidential clemency can only cover past, not future, acts. Yoo noted that perjury before Congress is prosecutable under federal law and underscored that if investigators can prove Fauci knowingly made materially false statements during this week’s testimony, the Justice Department could still bring criminal charges despite his preemptive pardon.
