An aircraft believed to be a $2 million Learjet 60 plunged from the sky in a high-speed dive on Sunday afternoon and slammed into a mobile home park in Greenacres, Palm Beach County, Florida, about nine miles from Mar-a-Lago.
The crash tore down power lines, left a large crater in the road, and erupted into a massive fireball that demolished at least one home.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue treated the scene as a mass casualty incident, with authorities reporting multiple fatalities.
The exact number of people aboard the jet or killed or injured on the ground remained unconfirmed as of Sunday evening.
The crash occurred shortly after 1 p.m. near Military Trail between Cresthaven Boulevard and 10th Avenue North, in a mobile home community just outside Palm Springs and not far from the Palm Beach area.
Witnesses described hearing a sharp whistle followed by a thunderous impact that some compared to a missile strike.
Shocking videos circulating on X captured the jet’s rapid nosedive and the fiery aftermath.
