British Government Caught Handing Out Thousands of Hijabs to Illegal Boat Migrants

The British government has handed out more than 1,000 taxpayer-funded hijabs to migrants arriving illegally across the English Channel.

According to internal Home Office figures reported by The Daily Mail, officials distributed 974 of the Islamic head coverings to small-boat migrants, an average of 162 every month between January and June.

At that rate, the total handed out at taxpayer expense is likely in the thousands

“The Government must stop handing out hijabs to illegal immigrants immediately,” Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp said.

“It’s an insult to hard-working British taxpayers that they’re funding religious items for people who have broken into our country. It should not be for us to fund someone else’s religious practices.”

Many are also wondering why British taxpayers are paying to promote a symbol of female subservience.

Shadow Education Secretary Laura Trott recently came out against hijabs forming part of school uniforms.

“I do not believe the state should be party to an instrument of female suppression,” she said.

The taxpayer-funded clothing is being distributed as Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s government refuses to stop the boats despite promises to do so.

More than 19,000 migrants have made the journey so far this year, with hundreds, if not thousands, more arriving every week.

Although overall crossings are down from 2025, boats have become increasingly crowded, carrying an average of 67 people per vessel.

The Home Office defended the practice by claiming it has obligations to provide appropriate basic clothing to migrants in short-term holding facilities.

“All arrivals receive a basic dry clothing pack where required,” a spokesman said. “The items available form part of standard welfare arrangements.”

Government figures also reveal the enormous quantity of other types of clothing being provided to illegal migrants.

Officials handed out 10,694 male clothing packs, alongside 2,670 female packs, 773 for boys, and 829 for girls.

The taxpayer-funded supplies also included hundreds of beanie hats and babygrows.

“Illegal immigrants crossing the Channel are breaking into our country,” Philp added. “They have no legitimate reason to flee France, which is clearly safe.”

President Trump Calls for Mandatory Prison Sentences for Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security Fraudsters – Says Crooked Politicians Who Cover It Up Must Face Real Consequences

President Trump calls on Congress to impose mandatory prison sentences for Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security fraud

President Donald Trump is calling on Congress to finally put real teeth behind the government’s war on fraud, mandatory prison sentences for criminals caught stealing from Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.

In a video released Saturday, Trump demanded legislation establishing mandatory minimum sentences for fraudsters who loot the federal programs millions of Americans depend on.

Under Trump’s proposal, probation would no longer be an option for covered fraud offenses.

“Today, I’m calling on Congress to pass legislation to address fraud in Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security programs,” Trump said.

“First, Congress must impose mandatory minimum sentences on fraudsters who steal from critical benefit programs designed to take care of the sick, feed the hungry, care for our children, and protect our senior citizens’ retirements.”

“Under our proposal, probation is no longer an option for the fraudsters. If you steal from the American people, you will go to prison and for a long period of time. And the more you steal, the longer you’ll stay in that prison,” he said. “If you’re a convicted fraudster who gets caught stealing from the American people a second time, your sentence will be doubled.”

Then he went after the politicians.

“Second, Congress must make sure that crooked and corrupt politicians who willfully turn a blind eye to fraud finally face real consequences,” Trump said.

“Under our proposal, if a state or local politician knows about fraud and has the ability to stop it, but does nothing about it, they can be personally liable for the full loss of the American taxpayers’ money that they should have stopped and they should have saved.”

The White House published the president’s announcement Saturday under the title “Minimum Sentences on Fraudsters.”

WATCH:

One 2026 Justice Department operation charged 455 defendants tied to more than $6.5 billion in alleged false claims, CRBC News reported.

House Republicans, according to Fox News, have been pushing a package of Medicaid-fraud bills after warnings that improper payments in federal health programs are running into the hundreds of billions. Rep. Jodey Arrington has described the losses as roughly $1 million a minute.

Nowhere has the rot been more obvious than Minnesota.

The Gateway Pundit has reported for months on the Medicaid and welfare schemes that flourished under Governor Tim Walz.

In January, CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz ordered a full federal audit of Minnesota Medicaid billings and told Walz fraudulent claims would be clawed back, after state programs were tied to more than $1 billion in suspected theft.

In April, The Gateway Pundit reported that Abdirashid Said, the lead defendant in an $11 million personal-care-assistant Medicaid scheme, fled the country before trial after a Hennepin County judge let him keep his passport on a $150,000 bond.

In May, legal scholar John Yoo told Fox News that Minnesota officials who knew money was moving to terrorist-linked networks could face prison for material support.

In June, Vice President JD Vance referred Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison to the Justice Department’s fraud division after a House Oversight report said senior officials had credible fraud warnings as early as 2019 and still kept the money flowing, including in the $250 million Feeding Our Future case, where state officials kept paying for months after flagging deficiencies.

In September, The Gateway Pundit reported that a longtime associate of Democratic Senate candidate Peggy Flanagan was running an autism center the state had already kicked off Medicaid.

DHS Says 4 of 11 Men Arrested in Indiana Child Sex Sting Are Illegal Aliens — One Was Caught and RELEASED at Biden’s Open Border

More than a third of the men snared in a Hamilton County, Indiana, child-sex sting are illegal aliens from four different countries, the Department of Homeland Security confirmed, including a Senegalese national the Biden administration caught and released at the border in 2023.

According to Fox News, DHS told the network that 4 of the 11 suspects arrested in the operation, 36 percent, are in the country illegally. Police say the men believed they were chatting online with young girls, then drove to a meet-up for sex. Undercover detectives were waiting.

The Hamilton County Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, working with officers from Greenwood, Westfield, and Lebanon, ran the three-day undercover chat operation from September 22–24.

Each suspect traveled to the Westfield area expecting to meet a child. All 11 were charged with child solicitation, a Level 4 felony. Several face additional counts.

ICE has lodged detainers on all four illegal aliens. A DHS spokesperson told Fox News the department is calling on Indiana to honor those detainers: “All of their claims will be heard by an immigration judge, and they will receive due process. This administration will not ignore the rule of law.”

Per DHS, the illegal-alien suspects are:

  • El Hadji Babacar Ndiaye, 26, of Indianapolis, a Senegalese illegal alien caught and released at the Lukeville, Arizona border by the Biden administration in September 2023. Local charging documents list one count of child solicitation. He is accused of messaging someone he believed was a 15-year-old girl and saying he wanted to have sex with her.
  • Lucky Philip Udoudo (also rendered Odoudo in the DHS confirmation), 30, of Carmel, a Nigerian illegal alien who entered as a gotaway at an unknown time and location. He is charged with child solicitation and attempted sexual misconduct with a minor after allegedly arranging to meet a 15-year-old for sex.
  • Filomeno Ricardo Flores Marin (booked as Ricardo Flores), 43, of Indianapolis, a Mexican illegal alien who first entered illegally in Arizona in 2002. He faces child solicitation, attempted sexual misconduct with a minor, and attempted dissemination of matter harmful to minors. Local reporting says he sent a nude photo and a sex video to someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl. Court records also show a prior stolen-property arrest; ICE picked him up in Indianapolis on January 18, 2019 while assisting the DEA, then he was released on bond on March 7, 2019.
  • David Josue Gomez-Posada, 21, listed as from Texas, a Salvadoran illegal alien who first crossed illegally as a juvenile in 2017. He is charged with child solicitation.

The other seven suspects were not identified by DHS as illegal aliens.

Indiana is not a sanctuary state. DHS is still publicly pressing local authorities to honor the four detainers so these men are transferred to ICE after the criminal cases, not released back into Hamilton County.

Baltimore Rock Opera Society Fires White Director for ‘Cultural Appropriation’ Because She Wore Cornrows to Burning Man

The Baltimore Rock Opera Society has fired its new executive director, Kelly Carnes, after a video showed the white arts executive wearing cornrows at the Burning Man festival, and leftists complained that the hairstyle was cultural appropriation.

Carnes had only been on the job for about two weeks when she was canned.

The volunteer-run theater group, which has staged original rock-and-roll shows in Baltimore since 2009, welcomed her on Instagram on September 14, writing that it was “excited for the new stories about to unfold under AWOL’s leadership as she supports us in our 7,000-year mission of incredible rock theater.”

Less than two weeks later, they fired her.

An email to volunteers, obtained by the Baltimore Banner, announced the firing and said four of the six board members would step down on December 31.

“For BROS to continue, there is an URGENT NEED for qualified people to step up and take these responsibilities from the current board immediately,” the email said.

WBAL reports:

The organization added it was revising its Anti-Discrimination Policy to address cultural representation and dress and enforcing anti-racism leadership training.

“The mission of this group will focus on initiatives and systemic changes related to community culture, anti-racist practices, inclusion, accountability, equity, and access within BROS,” the statement posted on social media adds.

The scandal began with a video from a BROS public event.

Carnes had just returned from Burning Man, the annual arts festival in the Nevada desert. She said she had her hair put in cornrows as a “protective style” against the wind and dust, and that she kept the braids because she did not have time to take them out before her first event with the group.

The style featured cornrows along the top, then longer braids and extensions.

She told The Banner that she had checked with fellow campers, including people of color, and with people she works with at home, before wearing it.

The group later removed the video.

Before a September 22 meeting, the board posted that it had “received many heartfelt and concerned messages from members of our community regarding a video circulated on social media showing our new Executive Director, who is white, wearing cornrows at a recent BROS public event.”

The statement said the board shared “the weight of these concerns” and took the matter seriously.

Carnes said the termination letter did not mention the hairstyle. It said she was “not a good fit,” but she does not accept that explanation.

“People can have different opinions about my hairstyle,” she wrote to the Banner. “But someone’s personal opinion about my hairstyle is one thing. Making an employment decision based on my physical appearance is another.”

The ousted director added, “I believe the circumstances surrounding my termination raise serious questions about discrimination, governance, and whether the values BROS presents publicly are actually extended to the people it employs.”

She said that she is “exploring those issues with counsel” and told WBAL she understands the concerns and is sensitive to them, but that she wears the style only for the two weeks she camps at Burning Man.

“I’m disappointed that I never even got the chance to do my job,” said Carnes. “It’s kind of a classic judging a book by its cover story instead and, of course, that’s incredibly disappointing, especially coming from an arts organization whose part of their ethos is that radical and fearless self-expression is a part of their dynamic.”

Her lawyer, Owen Bement, said she may be protected by the state’s CROWN Act, which was created to prevent discrimination against black women based on their hairstyles and textures.

Bement explained, “In Maryland, BROS may not lawfully separate my client because it believes one group of people may have a certain hairstyle while others may not. That is as clear cut a violation of Maryland’s anti-discrimination laws as I have ever seen.”

Bruce Springsteen Headlines Anti-Trump Rally Featuring Socialists, ‘Free Palestine’ Chants and Attacks on ICE (VIDEO)

Washed-up rocker Bruce Springsteen headlined a star-studded left-wing political festival Saturday as musicians and activist groups joined forces to mobilize opposition to President Trump ahead of the midterms.

The “Power to the People” festival was held at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland.

The event featured Springsteen, Dave Matthews, and Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello alongside a collection of progressive activist organizations.

Although marketed as a music festival, politics dominated the event.

The festival promoted voter registration and political organizing while declaring its intention to harness the power of ordinary people to “shape” the country “on, and beyond, Election Day.”

A hip-hop group opening the festival led chants of “Free Palestine,” denounced Immigration and Customs Enforcement as a “terrorist organization” and railed against “Western imperialism.”

Morello, a longtime left-wing activist, used his appearance to attack “fascists and the would-be dictators” as well as wealthy “oligarchs.”

The festival grounds also contained a “Freedom Village” featuring activist organizations including Indivisible, the ACLU and Third Act.

Indivisible has played a major role in organizing anti-Trump demonstrations, including the “No Kings” and “Hands Off” protests.

Springsteen himself has become increasingly involved in Democratic politics and anti-Trump activism.

The rock star endorsed Kamala Harris and Tim Walz during the 2024 presidential election and performed at a Harris campaign rally in Philadelphia.

He has since used many of his shows to rally against Trump, ICE, and the conflict in Iran.

‘Let ‘Em Hear You in the F*cking White House!’ Bruce Springsteen Unleashes Profane Six-Minute Anti-Trump Meltdown at D.C. Concert (VIDEOS)

Most of the performers had close ties to the Democratic Party.

Matthews previously participated in a concert promoting Joe Biden, Harris, and Democratic candidates, while also expressing support for Bernie Sanders.

Festival DJ Shepard Fairey, meanwhile, created Barack Obama’s famous “Hope” poster before producing political artwork supporting Harris in 2024.

Saturday’s festival comes just weeks before Americans vote in midterm elections that will determine control of Congress.

The concert ultimately resembled less a conventional music festival than a massive left-wing political rally.

Dr. McCullough On COVID-19 Vaccine Detoxification – “How Do I Get This Out Of My Body?”

(Note: Thank you for supporting businesses like the one presenting a sponsored message below and working with them through the links below which benefits Gateway Pundit. We appreciate your support!)

Every single day, more and more evidence comes out about Long COVID and Vaccine Injury syndrome and every single day we learn more about the culprit behind both:  spike protein.

From Dr. Peter McCullough’s substack:

the primary cause of Long Covid & Vaccine Injury Syndromes—namely, the Spike Protein.

There is a steadily increasing body of evidence that the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 and the spike protein induced by COVID-19 mRNA vaccines linger in the body for an indeterminate period of time.

If it seems like Long COVID and Vaccine Injury syndrome are closely related, it’s because they are:

Long Covid Syndrome and Vaccine Injury Syndrome seem to be closely related and to amplify each other. Because the vaccine does NOT prevent infection, we have seen cases in which the patient is repeatedly exposed to the viral spike protein and the spike protein induced by the vaccine and boosters. Moreover, we are concerned that the vaccine may actually be impairing the immune system’s ability to mount an effective response when it is exposed to new variants. The trouble with the viral spike protein seems to be related to the fact that it did not arise through natural evolution, but was optimized in a laboratory to infect humans.

The good news is that there is a way to fight back against the damage being done by spike protein, thanks to the work of Dr. McCullough and his team of experts at The Wellness Company:

For the last three years, Dr. Peter McCullough has tirelessly sought to find any safe and effective molecule or combination of molecules that could eliminate the spike. While no silver bullet—such as penicillin against syphilis—has been found, he has assembled Spike detoxification protocol, consisting of over-the-counter Nattokinase, Bromelain, and Curcumin.

Dr. McCullough said that the most common question he gets asked is “how do I get this out of my body”:

Far and away the most common question I get from those who took one of the COVID-19 vaccines is: “how do I get this out of my body.”

Florida Teacher Arrested After Surveillance Video Allegedly Shows Her Dragging a Seventh-Grade Student 20 Feet by the Arm

Fada Concepcion (Credit: Seminole County Sheriff’s Office)

A longtime Florida public school teacher has been arrested on a felony child abuse charge after authorities say she grabbed a seventh-grade student by the arm and dragged him roughly 20 feet out of her classroom and into a hallway.

Fada Concepcion, 52, a seventh-grade science teacher at Tuskawilla Middle School in Seminole County, was arrested by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office following the September 29 incident.

Concepcion has worked for Seminole County Public Schools for 29 years, according to FOX 35 Orlando.

She now faces a third-degree felony charge of child abuse without great bodily harm.

According to an arrest report obtained by WFTV, investigators allege Concepcion grabbed the student from his seat during third-period science class and dragged him by the arm at least 20 feet into an exterior hallway.

The alleged incident was reportedly captured on the school’s surveillance camera system.

School officials became aware of the allegation the following day after Assistant Principal Cynthia Woods received a statement from a student. Woods then notified Principal Randy Shuler, child protection officials and a school resource deputy.

Another assistant principal later reviewed surveillance footage and contacted deputies.

Investigators subsequently interviewed 15 students who had been marked present during the class.

The student involved also provided a sworn statement, while his father reportedly told investigators that he had not given Concepcion permission to physically handle his son and wanted authorities to pursue the matter.

Concepcion, however, disputes investigators’ version of events.

During questioning, Concepcion reportedly told deputies she did not remember “dragging” the student and maintained that she had instead escorted him from the classroom while he repeatedly slumped over.

Her attorney also challenged prosecutors’ characterization of the encounter during a bond hearing.

The defense argued that the student had been misbehaving and had not suffered bruising or other physical injuries, drawing a distinction between investigators describing the encounter as “dragging” and Concepcion describing it as “escorting.”

But prosecutors pushed back, and the judge ultimately found probable cause for the case to proceed, according to WFTV.

Parents send their children to school expecting teachers to educate and protect them, not to have allegations like this emerge from inside a classroom.

And in this case, investigators say there is surveillance footage that could become a critical piece of evidence as the case moves forward.

Prosecutors initially sought a $5,000 bond, but the judge reduced Concepcion’s bond to $1,000.

She was also ordered to have no contact with the student and prohibited from returning to Tuskawilla Middle School for the time being.

Seminole County Public Schools placed Concepcion on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

The district said in a statement that it takes allegations concerning student safety seriously and will continue cooperating with law enforcement and its Office of Professional Standards.

Concepcion is scheduled to return to court on November 10.

HORROR: 7-Year-Old Girl Fatally Stabbed in the Back by Stranger on Chicago Sidewalk in Broad Daylight Attack

Meanwhile in the Democrat hellhole of Chicago…

A 7-year-old girl was repeatedly stabbed in the back on a Chicago sidewalk on Saturday morning in the city’s East Chatham neighborhood.

The child was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The suspect, an unidentified woman who was not known to the victim, was taken into custody.

The attack appears to be random. Police still don’t have a motive.

NBC Chicago reported:

Surveillance video captured the aftermath of a broad daylight stabbing on a Chicago sidewalk that left a 7-year-old girl dead on Saturday morning.

Witnesses can be seen rushing over to what is assumed to be the area where the young girl was stabbed several times by a woman who is now in custody in the video obtained by NBC Chicago from a business on the block.

The incident occurred around 11:55 a.m. on Saturday on South Cottage Grove Avenue near East 86th Street in the city’s East Chatham neighborhood. The girl was walking down the sidewalk when a woman who did not know her approached her and stabbed her in the back multiple times, police said.

The girl was taken a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The video also shows several witnesses running away from the scene to chase down the suspect. Police said the bystanders detained the woman, and she was later taken into custody after receiving treatment at a local hospital for injuries she sustained while being detained.

Surveillance video shows the immediate aftermath of the fatal stabbing.

Why Was Christa Pike Spared? What the Failed Execution Reveals About State Power

Why Was Pike Spared? What the Failed Execution Reveals About State Power

Republished with Permission from AbleChild

The Roman Colosseum made violence a public spectacle, displaying the condemned and the power of the state. Today, the courtroom and the media arena play that role: crime, claims of mental illness, government drugging of its population, expert testimony, and punishment become spectacles for the public to watch and judge. The spectacle can obscure the questions: what happened before mental-health treatment began, and which parts of government failed?

Understanding what led to a murder does not excuse it. It can show whether the systems responsible for treatment, oversight, and public safety failed, and whether the public can see who was accountable.

Lindsay Clancy’s trial shows how treatment histories and expert testimony can shape a public account of criminal responsibility. In four months, five providers prescribed 13 psychiatric medications to Clancy. The defense argued that the shifting regimen of psychiatric drugs worsened Clancy’s condition and impaired Clancy’s reasoning. Prosecutors called Dr. Gregory Saathoff, a senior psychiatrist with the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU), who testified that Clancy had the capacity to know right from wrong. Saathoff had no problem with the conflicting diagnosis and cocktail of mind-altering drugs. Experts failed to agree on Clancy’s diagnosis and psychosis. The jury deadlocked, and the judge declared a mistrial.

As influencers and the media pulled the crowd into opposing camps, the treatment system behind Clancy’s case receded from view, though it reaches far beyond one courtroom. In 2024, nearly one in five U.S. adults took at least one psychiatric drug. Why care? Mass killings and family murder-suicides are surging, while millions of people take psychiatric drugs that may put themselves and others at risk.

After Pike survived Tennessee’s failed execution, the public has an opportunity to confront behavioral health’s ties to government and work on reform that protects public safety and curbs killings.

At Pike’s 1996 trial, forensic psychologist Dr. Eric Engum testified about his evaluation of Pike. Vanderbilt psychiatrist Dr. William Bernet testified that the crime contained “satanic elements,” but characterized the elements as adolescents “dabbling in Satanism,” not an organized occult practice. A pentagram had been carved into Colleen Slemmer’s chest. Co-defendant Tadaryl Shipp testified that he carved the pentagram because he “felt like it.” Bernet had reviewed reports and statements, but had not spoken with Pike or the other witnesses. Bernet also acknowledged that Bernet lacked enough information to opine on whether Pike acted intentionally or with premeditation.

The same psychiatrist who testified in a death-penalty case later became part of a case establishing a legal limit on families’ ability to sue an expert after losing custody of their child. A father sued Bernet, Vanderbilt University, and others, alleging that their actions interfered with his parental relationship. In 2005, the court ruled that an adverse expert witness could not be sued for relevant testimony or participation in custody proceedings. The court reasoned that cross-examination and the fact-finder, not a later lawsuit by the losing party, should test expert evidence. The ruling did not determine whether Bernet’s testimony was right or wrong; it established civil immunity for relevant expert testimony.

Psychiatric experts can influence decisions with profound consequences, while the law protects experts from certain civil suits over relevant testimony. How well can cross-examination expose error when expert opinions carry authority, records are incomplete, or an expert has never examined the person being judged?

Pike’s record also raises an accountability question: what can the public know when the available accounts of treatment conflict? In post-conviction proceedings, Pike’s mother testified that Pike took a Tylenol overdose in third grade, received outpatient psychiatric care, and was prescribed medication that made Pike feel worse. The published opinion does not name the psychiatrist or the medication. Yet a later evaluation reportedly says Pike had no psychiatric medication before incarceration. The available sources do not resolve the discrepancy.

Pike’s lawyers also describe child-welfare involvement: Pike’s removal from home at 13 and a three-month residential placement after an assault by Pike’s mother’s boyfriend.

The court record says Pike spent about a year at a North Carolina juvenile facility called “Swannoa.” After returning, Pike became interested in Job Corps. Pike arrived at Knoxville Job Corps in fall 1994.

On January 12, 1995, Pike and Tadaryl Shipp murdered fellow Job Corps student Colleen Slemmer. Shadolla Peterson was also charged in the killing. Police reported that the three had some association with the occult and investigated satanic worship among Job Corps students. Investigators said a pentagram had been cut into Slemmer’s chest. After the killing, investigators recovered a piece of Slemmer’s skull; a Satanic Bible and an altar were reportedly found in Shipp’s dorm room.

Both the psychiatrist and the police chief involved in the case downplayed the satanic connection. Bernet described the crime as adolescents “dabbling in Satanism.” Police Chief Phil Keith said there was no evidence the murder itself was satanic or ritualistic, describing it instead as a love-triangle killing.

The question of accountability extends beyond expert testimony to the federal center’s oversight of student safety. In the week after the murder, the Associated Press reported a history of assaults, rapes, and other violent incidents at or involving the Knoxville center since 1991. The center’s deputy director said Job Corps was not a detention facility. A national deputy director said the national office was scrutinizing the center.

The Knoxville Job Corps center later closed permanently following the murder, amid community concerns about the crime.

Reports of violence preceded Slemmer’s murder, and the Knoxville center closed within months afterward. What did its operators and federal overseers know about student safety and reported occult activity, and what did they do before and after the murder? Those questions demand scrutiny of the administrative state.

Behavioral-health evaluations, diagnoses, prescriptions, monitoring, and records may later shape court decisions about competence and criminal responsibility. Records may be incomplete and withheld, yet expert opinions carry weight.

After Pike survived Tennessee’s failed execution, the public may have the opportunity now to confront behavioral health’s ties to government and demand reform that protects public safety, obtain full psychiatric records to help curb killings.  Maybe God spared Pike’s life so humanity could focus on who exactly is in the arena with the lions, and look more closely not only at the execution system, but also at state powers and the worst actors within who abuse and harm children.

The administrative state’s response is very revealing: bring back the electric chair, saying it would deliver justice swiftly.

Electric chair, lethal injections, firing squads, a colosseum with lions: the spectacle should not obscure the question of who exercises the state’s power over life and death, and how the public can hold that power accountable.

U.S. spending on mental-health and substance-use-disorder treatment reached $139.6 billion in 2021.

Mother Charged With Homicide After 1- and 2-Year-Old Children Found Starved and Dehydrated to Death — Authorities Received 13 Welfare Calls as Relatives Warned of ‘Another Lindsay Clancy’ Tragedy

Credit: Charleston County Sheriff’s Office

A South Carolina mother has been charged with two counts of homicide by child abuse after authorities discovered her two young daughters dead inside their home, and the horrifying case is now raising serious questions about how repeated warnings from family members apparently failed to save the children.

Justine Marie May, 31, of Ladson, was arrested after deputies conducting a welfare check on September 29 discovered her daughters, 33-month-old Emory Deacon and 15-month-old Harlow Deacon, dead inside the family’s Pinewood Drive residence.

2-year-old Emory Deacon and 15-month-old Harlow Deacon (Credit: Live 5 News)

The Charleston County Coroner’s Office determined that both little girls died from starvation and dehydration due to neglect and ruled their deaths homicides, according to WCIV.

The details contained in the probable-cause affidavits are absolutely sickening.

According to the affidavit, deputies responded to the Ladson home for a welfare check and encountered May outside, where she was reportedly crying and speaking incoherently.

When authorities entered the residence to check on the children, they found both girls already dead.

May allegedly told detectives that the previous two weeks had been a “blur” and that she could not remember the last time she had fed her daughters or given them anything to drink.

Investigators wrote that May acknowledged that failing to feed the children was neglectful and said she had been their sole caregiver during the preceding weeks. The affidavit alleges her failure to provide the children basic sustenance demonstrated “extreme indifference for human life.”

But the story gets even more disturbing.

Family members and acquaintances had reportedly been sounding the alarm about May and the children for weeks.

The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office acknowledged that it received 21 calls involving the Pinewood Drive residence beginning August 10 and that deputies responded 13 times before the children were discovered dead, according to WCIV.

Those contacts reportedly included welfare checks, follow-up visits, supervisory reviews, and coordination with the South Carolina Department of Social Services and mental-health officials.

The Sheriff’s Office said deputies and partner agencies actually interacted with May and the children during several visits on August 25, August 26, September 8, September 11 and September 12, but officials reported seeing no signs of an immediate threat to the girls.

Then came September 29.

A concerned caller reportedly told dispatch that May was walking around without her daughters and that “no one has seen her kids.”

The caller asked authorities to at least physically see the children because they were reportedly always said to be “napping.”

In radio traffic subsequently released, a deputy could be heard saying, “we’re no longer conducting welfare checks at that address.”

Hours later, Harlow and Emory were found dead.

The Sheriff’s Office is now defending its handling of the case, saying Saturday that the deputy followed supervisory instructions and agency policy. Sheriff Carl Ritchie said the department stands behind the deputy and argued that the history shows repeated responses and assessments rather than authorities simply ignoring the residence.

But the girls’ family is telling a much different story.

Gedney M. Howe IV, an attorney representing the children’s father, Zack Deacon, said the deaths “could and should have been prevented.”

Howe said neighbors, friends and family repeatedly tried to get help for the two little girls.

“Zack was sounding the alarm and was arrested for it.”

That arrest came on September 11, when Deacon was charged with second-degree harassment after May accused him of continuing to contact her.

Records reported by Live 5 News show Deacon had described May as “delusional” and “spiraling” while raising concerns about her and the children. He was later released on a $25,000 personal-recognizance bond.

Perhaps most chilling of all, relatives had reportedly become so worried about May’s mental state that one family member referenced the nationally publicized Lindsay Clancy case while warning about what could happen.

WCIV reported that messages posted publicly before the deaths showed relatives pleading with May about her isolation from family and expressing growing concern about access to her children.
