The Washington Post reported Tuesday that the U.S. withdrew its bombers from the British Fairford air base over the weekend because of concerns about a potential Iranian drone attack.
The withdrawal of about a dozen B-1 planes, which was first reported Sunday, followed British authorities announcing that several men had been arrested for plotting an attack on the base. The Post, citing a British official and “two people familiar with the decision,” said that the U.S. had received intelligence about potential attacks. Vice President J.D. Vance said the planes had been moved out of “an abundance of caution.”
Despite improved numbers of transits through the Strait of Hormuz, the Islamic Republic struck 11 ships in the past week. Iran has also been operating in the southeast of the country to suppress unrest from separatist elements in its Baluchistan province.
The Iran-aligned Yemeni Houthis claimed strikes on airports in the Saudi cities of Riyadh and Abha and in the Yemeni central government’s temporary capital of Aden.
Brent crude opened Wednesday at $101 per barrel. AAA reported continued easing in still-elevated consumer prices with national averages of $4.37 per gallon of regular gas and $6.30 per gallon of gasoline.
President Trump on Wednesday said he has “no regrets at all” about his endorsement of Ken Paxton after the media’s attempts to ruin his campaign for U.S. Senate through various leaks from closed-door meetings.
Trump is also scheduled to hold a rally for Paxton in San Antonio, Texas, tonight.
The Texas Senate race has been rocked by a number of leaked audio recordings of Paxton during private events with GOP operatives, donors, and lobbyists, in which he candidly discusses his campaign. The knives are out for Paxton, but Trump isn’t turning his back on the star Texas Senate Nominee.
In one audio tape, Paxton said during a meeting with conservative donors and lobbyists late last month that the RNC midterm convention hurt him in the polls and that “everybody’s numbers dropped,” following the convention. An attendee recorded the comments at a private fundraiser in Washington and leaked the recording to the New York Times.
Still, Trump responded last Wednesday to the recording by brushing off the comments, defending the convention, and noting the massive viewership it generated.
“I haven’t heard that, but I can tell you that the convention was amazing. As you probably know, we had 107 million views,” he said. “The NFL had 25 million views, so we had four times what the NFL did.”
He went on to campaign for Paxton in Denton, Texas, the next day, unfazed by the recording.
This week, two more audio tapes emerged. In one, obtained by Politico, Paxton is heard telling donors that he has “little control” over his messaging and “it’s all coming from DC,” creating a challenge with getting his message out to regular Texas voters. The snippet appears to show Paxton expressing his frustrations with the national GOP and the current Senate Republican leadership trying to control him.

In another tape, obtained by Axios, Paxton simply admits that his biggest obstacles in the race are the war in Iran and high gas prices, and explains his plan to alleviate voters’ concerns on the campaign trail. “I’m just trying to figure out ways that I can help people,” including “proposing legislation,” he said, while acknowledging that he can’t stop the war.
This is clearly a targeted campaign by the left-wing media and anonymous leakers to infiltrate and stop Paxton and drive a wedge between him and Trump. In the recordings, which are made out to be far more damning than they truly are, Paxton does not attack Trump or say anything negative about the Republican Party.
When asked if he has any regrets about endorsing Paxton in the primary race against RINO John Cornyn, Trump doubled down, praising the Texas Republican and saying, “not at all.”
“No, no, no, not at all,” Trump said, describing him as “the best, or certainly one of the few best, but the best attorney general in the whole country,” who “will be a great Senator.”

An Iowa city council opened its regular meeting this week by standing for an invocation addressed to a “dark father,” praising the “luciferian impulse,” and closing with “Hail Satan.”
The City of Ottumwa’s official YouTube channel posted the October 6, 2026, regular meeting.
After the mayor called the 5:30 p.m. session to order and invited those who wished to participate in the invocation to stand, the scheduled speaker began: “Let us pray. Dear dark father, let us stand now unbowed and unfettered by arcane doctrines born of fearful minds in darkened times.”
He continued by urging the room to “embrace the luciferian impulse to eat of the tree of knowledge and dissipate our blissful and comforting delusions of old,” to judge people by “concrete actions” rather than “arbitrary social norms,” and to hold “only to that which is demonstrably true.”
He closed with the line that set off the room: “It is done. Hail Satan.” The Pledge of Allegiance followed immediately.
The city’s own invocation schedule lists the October 6 speaker as Matthew Dalbey, organization “None.” Dalbey is also listed for September 1 and November 3. The schedule is posted on the city’s website.
The clip spread after it was posted by Libs of TikTok, which tagged the city’s official account.

During the official recording of the meeting, a man identified as Rick called on city leaders to “reverse that curse that was just put on our city,” referring to the invocation that ended with “Hail Satan” and an appeal to a “dark god.”
Cara Galloway objected, telling Mayor Ben Foote, “Yeah, Mayor, this should be done at EER at the end.”
Rick pushed back.
“I appreciate what Miss Galloway is saying, but that was a curse put on a city when he said, ‘Hail Satan’ and ‘oh dark god.’ Most of you know that, and we need to just stop and reverse it,” he said. “It needs to be done now.”
Mayor Ben Foote then called for 30 seconds of silence so those in attendance could pray or reflect.
Galloway immediately interrupted.
“No, we are at consent agenda. I’m sorry, but it’s time to move forward. The invocation happened,” she said.
Foote refused to be deterred.
“As the mayor of Ottumwa and the one running this meeting, I’m going to ask right now that we have a moment of silence to reflect on whatever it is we need to reflect on at this time, and then we will move to the consent agenda,” Foote said.
Federal agents arrested Sheikhdoon Abdullahi Mohamud at gunpoint in the Twin Cities after he allegedly took possession of a rifle and ammunition he intended to use in a terrorist attack at the Mall of America.
According to Alpha News, which covered a U.S. Attorney announcement of a significant counterterrorism action in Minnesota on Wednesday, federal authorities have charged Mohamud with plotting a mass-casualty attack in support of ISIS at the Mall of America later this month. He allegedly hoped to kill “30 to 60 people.”
Reports of the federal case identify Mohamud as an 18-year-old Somali “American.”
The criminal complaint and 23-page affidavit of FBI Special Agent Keegan Rupenthal were unsealed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Minnesota.
Mohamud is charged under 18 U.S.C. § 924(h) with knowingly receiving a firearm and ammunition on or about October 6, 2026, knowing or having reasonable cause to believe they would be used to commit a felony and a federal crime of terrorism, including providing, attempting to provide, and conspiring to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization.
The weapon listed in the complaint is a Norinco AK-47, model Mac-90 Sporter, serial number 94145360, plus roughly 200 live rounds of 7.62×39 ammunition. The FBI rendered the rifle inert before the handoff. The ammunition was live. He never got the chance to use either.
According to the affidavit, the Minneapolis Joint Terrorism Task Force opened the case in December 2024 after Mohamud began trading hundreds of messages with a confidential human source on Telegram, Signal, Discord, TikTok, and later SimpleX. Handles included “@misterdoon,” “Mister Miser,” “mistermister,” “misterman240,” and a Discord account named “baaqiyah_31485,” “baaqiyah” being an ISIS slogan meaning the caliphate remains.
The source is described as a paid informant known to the FBI since 2017. Over 21 months Mohamud laid out the plan in his own words.
In January 2025, after Shamsud-Din Jabbar rammed a truck into a New Year’s crowd on Bourbon Street and killed 14 Americans, Mohamud called the attacker a “real muslim” and wrote, “May Allah grant him jannah.” When the source asked how school was going, he answered: “Its terrible man but i gotta keep doing it and if i fail its straight to just killin kuffar. And im already failing so if i dont pass in a yr ill probably save up for a gun.”
In March 2025 he was more explicit: “get a gun here and just start killing a bunch of white ppl (because a lot of white ppl are kuffar).” He said he would “just shoot a club,” but what he really wanted was to “fight in Somalia support the isis in puntland.” He also wrote that if he were jailed he feared being raped, so “if im gonna do it in america i better die in any way other than that.”
In May 2025, FBI agents tried to interview him at the family home. His mother, identified in the affidavit only as A.O. (year of birth 1978), said he was at school and would be back by bus. His father, A.M.W., told agents he would not talk and would hand their card to an attorney. The case kept running.
By December 2025 he was pledging the trip: “When i make hijrah insha Allah i will go to ISIS in somal no matter how tempting going to Al Shabaab is.” He sent Al-Kataib propaganda, al-Shabaab’s media wing, showing fighters, mortars, and the black flag. His Telegram account was banned, he said, because he was “in al shabab channels to watch the videos and news.”
Mall of America. Christmas. Then October 24.
The overseas plan collapsed over money. In July 2026 he told the source, “so i will do attack here,” and “if i do an attack here im not doing it for any worldly matter im doing for the sake of Allah only.”
The targets: “i might buy two pist. ols online and go to malll of america or valley fair on Minnesota on christmas time.” He broke up the word “pistols,” the affidavit notes, the way suspects try to dodge platform filters.
He then zeroed in on the Mall of America “because its owned by jewish [sic] so if i kill even 30 people noone would go there anymore. I want to harm the jew just like the brothers in australia bondi beach harmed the jews.”
He figured an assault rifle and “260 ammo” could kill “maybe 30-60 people insha Allah.” A bomb, he said, was “too complicated.” He would “drive straight to the crowded place and start shooting.”
He described himself to the source as a “5’11 dark somali guy” who would be “wearing green jacket,” and sent photos, one in a blue polo with a “Parking Patroller” logo, another in a black balaclava.
In September he moved the date. “I can’t wait until I kill kuffar man. October 24 is the day insha Allah.” The draw, he said, was a “Hmong Arts Celebration” at the mall: “yeah it’s a bunch of asians [sic] Chinese Vietnamese and other kuffar celebrating. it will be a lot of people.”
He told the source he had watched the Omar Mateen Pulse nightclub video and “i think i can do the same thing omar matteen did. i just walk in and shoot.” Mateen used 30-round magazines. Mohamud said he was “not complaining.”
He filmed a bay’ah, a pledge of allegiance, on what he said was his little brother’s iPad, face covered with a red-and-white keffiyeh, swearing loyalty to ISIS caliph Abu Hafs al-Hashimi al-Qurashi. The caption: “i made the video so dawlah know that i do attack, i give my allegiance to amir al mu’mineen Abu Hafs al Qurayshi.”
When the source pressed him on whether he was sure, Mohamud answered: “wallahi i want to do this, i am very serious i don’t care about anything in this world, i am 100% commited [sic] to the cause of dying for the sake of Allah only.” He said he had about $600 total, including “100 bucks for ammo,” and sent a video counting out $601 in cash.
On October 6, surveillance watched him leave his residence and meet the man he believed was the ISIS brother the source had introduced.
It was an FBI undercover employee. Inside a vehicle, audio- and video-recorded, Mohamud paid $600 cash. The agent counted it in front of him, confirmed he wanted an “AK,” and Mohamud said he did.
The agent told him he was an active member of ISIS and asked about the plan. Mohamud said he had looked at al-Shabaab, al Qaeda, and ISIS and settled on ISIS.
He said he would shoot a “kuffar festival” at the Mall of America, that part of the motive was Jewish ownership of the mall, and that he was angry about the treatment of Muslims after a May 18, 2026 shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego that killed three people.
He planned to wait nearby so his mother would not be home when he returned with the rifle.
He stepped out of the vehicle with the duffel bag. The FBI arrested him at gunpoint.

One of America’s most notorious crime-ridden cities is giving a literal get-out-of-jail free card to a boy driving a stolen vehicle.
As WBAL reported, Baltimore police on Friday said that a 12-year-old youth was driving a stolen car on Sept. 30 and collided with an elderly motorcyclist around 1 p.m. on North West Avenue.
The motorcyclist, 69-year-old Barry Wright of Baltimore County, died at the scene.
The boy was driving the car with a 15-year-old female passenger. According to WBAL, officers found them near the intersection of North Dukeland Street and West North Avenue, where the car became disabled.
Video shows the two getting out of the vehicle and trying to run away. They were later apprehended.
Witnesses revealed more details about the horrific and avoidable accident to WBAL. These included the victim flipping into the air upon impact and the fact that the 12-year-old boy blew through a red light.
“I was at the corner of North (West) and Dukeland waiting for the light for me to go across. I seen the car hit the motorcycle and I was just like ‘oh my God,” and debris was coming over on the side,” A woman named Trina told the outlet. “I seen the guy flip in the air (and) then these two cowards going to get out of the car and run.”
“The teenagers decided to run a red light,” said Viola Church. “I was actually there when the ambulance was performing CPR and at that time you just knew there was nothing else they could do for him.”
WBAL reported that the young boy will face no criminal charges for the incident. Instead, police submitted a Child in Need of Supervision (CINS) referral and met with the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services.
The department will decide in 15 days what comes next for the boy. This could mean counseling or court-ordered supervision for the child.
The 15-year-old girl, however, was arrested and charged with motor vehicle theft. She is being held at the Baltimore City Juvenile Justice Center.
Church called out what she understandably viewed as completely lackluster punishment for the children.
“I think it does a disservice when you’re not holding these kids accountable. I think it’s imperative that not only the parents are held accountable but the kids as well,” Church told WBAL. “I absolutely think (the victim’s family) is going to want some type of justice and if you’re not going to charge these young people, there has to be an alternative.
“You have to keep in mind the victims, he didn’t ask for that.”
A 67-year-old woman was arrested for drunkenly doing donuts on an Indiana courthouse lawn on Monday afternoon.
The woman was intoxicated at the time of the arrest.

The Gateway Pundit reported that last week, off-duty NYPD detective Jose Mercedes was brutally attacked during a robbery attempt in broad daylight.
While Mercedes was clearing out the trunk of his car, two men on an e-bike approached him and reached for his gold chain.
Mercedes fought back and was brutally stabbed at least seven times to the neck and leg.
The accused slasher was identified as 25-year-old D’Angelo Caraballo, and his getaway driver was ID’d as 24-year-old Sneider Mejia.
Fox News’s Bill Melugin reported that both suspects are alleged to be Dominican illegals.
”I’m told by DHS sources that the two suspects wanted for attempted murder in connection to the stabbing & robbery of an off-duty NYPD detective in NYC on Friday are both Dominican illegal aliens who were caught and released at the AZ border by the Biden administration & both have lengthy criminal histories in NYC, including an ignored ICE detainer.”
The two have been on the run since the attack, but the officials announced the duo is in custody after being found in a basement in Massachusetts.
UPDATE: NYPD detectives assigned to the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force with support from the Boston Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested D’Angelo Caraballo and Sneider Mejia overnight in Lynn, Massachusetts for the attempted murder of an off-duty NYPD detective last Friday. The suspects were hiding in the basement of a house when they were apprehended.

President Trump makes an announcement on Trump Accounts automatic enrollment
President Trump will make an announcement this afternoon on the automatic enrollment of children in his Trump Accounts program.
The program, which officially launched on July 4, provides a tax-advantaged investment account for children to get a head start on saving for adulthood. A $1,000 federal pilot contribution is also available for children born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028, and additional benefits are available for children born in low-income areas.
Trump spoke in the Oval Office alongside Dell CEO Michael Dell, who pledged a $6 billion donation to the program, and his wife, Susan, to officially launch his Trump Accounts program in July.
Now, Trump is expanding the program to ensure that every American child is enrolled and able to reap the benefits before he leaves office.
“Trump Accounts are a life-changing initiative that will jump-start the American dream for generations to come,” White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers told the Daily Signal.
“With automatic enrollment now complete, every American child under the age of 18 has a Trump Account in their name, making it easier than ever for families to participate. Nearly 70 million Trump Accounts have already been created, giving young Americans a new opportunity to build lifelong financial security.”
Millions of children have already been automatically enrolled in the program since automatic enrollment began.
Prior to the auto-enrollment, Trump accounts had been established for roughly 7 million children. As many as 70 million may qualify, according to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
The Treasury Department confirmed Thursday that automatic enrollment had been completed.
“This is a transformative milestone in the Trump Administration’s effort to give every American child the opportunity to build generational wealth and jump-start their financial future,” Bessent said in a press release.
Parents can now claim their children’s accounts and begin making contributions with tax-deferred earnings through the Trump Accounts app.
