Well, it turns out not every liberal actor in Hollywood harbors unhinged hate for conservatives.

(Though many certainly do.)

Marvel actor Sebastian Stan — perhaps best known for playing the Winter Soldier — appeared on “The Daily Show” to discuss his upcoming film “Fjord.”

And, somewhat surprisingly given what we know of Stan’s politics, the actor actually had a very easy pathway to attack conservatives — and didn’t.

Michael Kosta, one of the rotating hosts of “The Daily Show” — a progressive parody of cable news — spoke to Stan on Wednesday about his upcoming movie.

And before we go any further, here is a quick recap of “Fjord.”

Mihai Gheorghiu, who is portrayed by Stan, and Lisbet Gheorghiu, portrayed by Renate Reinsve, are a devout evangelical Christian couple with five children who move from Romania to a remote Norwegian fjord, where Lisbet was originally from.

The Gheorghiu family’s faith means they raise their children in a conservative manner — putting them at immediate odds with the fjord’s liberal populace.

Things come to a head when Mihai’s daughter shows up to school with bruises, and the entire town immediately casts aspersions on the family, with authorities eventually hauling all five children away.

And now a spoiler warning: Lisbet struggles mightily to cope with the loss of her children, while Mihai rallied other conservative Christian networks across the world to support his case.

Interestingly, the movie deliberately avoids answering the question of who, or what, caused the daughter’s bruises. The movie intentionally leaves this ambiguous — maybe Mihai is abusive, maybe the daughter got bruised while wrestling at school, or maybe the daughter got hurt while playing games with neighbors.

The movie ultimately seems more interested in exploring what happens when cultures clash — the liberal fjord folks are not presented in an especially gracious manner, often seeming rigid and paranoid — instead of ascribing villainy to any side.

But that brings us back to Wednesday’s Daily Show appearance.

“Some people might characterize the themes of this movie as fairly conservative,” Kosta said. “What’s your response to that? Are people overthinking it?”

“No, I mean, I think that’s a pretty fair assessment, but that shouldn’t necessarily cancel out the issues that this family is facing or that the feelings that they have and the desire that they have to raise the kids in the best way they can,” Stan replied.

“I think there’s probably always, on either side, that there needs to be an opening of a door, you know, for more of a back and forth to happen,” he continued.

“Like, when did conservative become so wrong, I guess? I didn’t really grow up in that kind of a religious environment, but as long as there’s curiosity, at least, instead of immediate judgment, maybe there’s something else there,” Stan said.

“But if a family is trying to stay together, we should at least give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they’re trying to do it for the right reasons.”

That… is a shockingly good response, especially for a liberal actor who was flamed for his antagonistic portrayal of a young Donald Trump in the biopic “The Apprentice.”

Fair is fair, and I genuinely wish more actors adopted Stan’s approach to conservatism.

(Which, I should note, is a fairly new approach, given that Stan once told The Hollywood Reporter that Trump was a “paranoid, scared little man.”)

The most refreshing part of Stan’s response is that he didn’t endorse conservatism, renounce liberalism, or pretend that ideological differences don’t matter.

He simply acknowledged that conservative Christians are human beings whose beliefs deserve to be understood before they’re condemned.

In today’s Hollywood, that’s a surprisingly radical concept.

Stan’s politics may not have changed, and that’s perfectly fine. If more Americans approached their ideological opponents with the same curiosity instead of reflexive contempt, perhaps we’d discover that disagreement doesn’t have to mean disdain.

“Fjord” hits theaters on Oct. 9.

BREAKING: President Trump Announces Major Diesel Agreement with Russia After Latest Phone Call with Vladimir Putin

President Trump on Friday released a statement on his latest phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Trump said the US will now be importing diesel fuel from Russia.

The President secured several million tons of Russian diesel ahead of the midterm elections in additional to his executive order to slash prices.

Full statement from President Trump:

I have just concluded a highly successful discussion with President Vladimir Putin, of Russia, wherein it was agreed that Russia will immediately supply over 300,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel to the American and Global Marketplace, another 500,000 Tons during the month of November, and 1,000,000 Tons immediately thereafter.

Additionally, based on the condition of their Diesel Refineries, Russia will then deliver, within a short period of time, 3,000,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel.

Between our TOTAL CONTROL of the Strait of Hormuz, and this great announcement on Russian Energy, Diesel Prices for Americans and, indeed, the World, will be COMING DOWN, IN RECORD NUMBERS, AND FAST! Lower prices for Americans, especially our Great Farmers, Ranchers, and Truckers, is my Greatest Priority.

This is a very big and important announcement. Additionally, it must be understood, that Iran will not have a Nuclear Weapon! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP

Over the summer, President Trump announced a historic deal with Venezuela.

The US government secured a 35% equity stake in the parent company of NABEP, a firm controlled by Venezuelan billionaire Alejandro Betancourt – and major off-take rights over 65 billion barrels of Venezuelan oil.

Video posted to social media shows anti-ICE activists blocking federal vehicles and confronting ICE agents after the officer-involved shooting.

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed an ICE agent shot a criminal alien gang member in the Bronx on Thursday.

The wounded alien was transported to a local hospital.

“ICE officers immediately rendered aid. The individual is alive and at a local hospital. The FBI and HSI are on the scene. The incident remains under investigation. More information will be shared as it becomes available,” the DHS said in a statement.

Trump Escalates Effort to Oust Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook, Launches Investigation Into Allegations of Mortgage Fraud

President Trump is escalating his effort to oust embattled Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook over allegations of mortgage fraud.

Trump announced his administrations has established a committee to investigate Lisa Cook.

“By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby establish a committee of inquiry (Committee) to investigate allegations that Federal Reserve Governor Lisa D. Cook made false statements in connection with one or more mortgage instruments. The Assistant to the President for Economic Policy, the Chairman of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Director of the Office of Government Ethics shall serve as members of the Committee,” Trump said in a memorandum.

In August, President Trump renewed efforts to fire Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook after the Supreme Court ruled she could keep her job.

In June, the US Supreme Court said President Trump cannot fire Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook.

The high court, in a 5-4 vote, ruled that Trump cannot remove Cook.

Chief Justice Roberts wrote the majority opinion.

“To accept any of those arguments would in effect transform the Federal Reserve’s for-cause protection into at-will employment,” Roberts wrote.

DOJ Solicitor General John Sauer, in his petition to the Supreme Court, said the lower courts have interfered with the President’s authority to remove members of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors for cause.

Lisa Cook apparently owns three properties, and she allegedly committed mortgage fraud on all three properties.

According to housing regulator Bill Pulte’s first criminal referral, Lisa Cook committed mortgage fraud by lying on her mortgage application and falsifying bank statements when she designated her out-of-state Atlanta condo as her “primary residence”—just two weeks after taking a loan on her Michigan home, which she also claimed as her “primary residence.”

Last August, Pulte sent a second criminal referral on Lisa Cook after she was allegedly caught lying about a third property.

Lisa Cook’s attorneys laughably claimed there would be an inflation crisis if Trump were allowed to fire Cook.

France Riots: 715 Police Injured, €40 Million in Damage as Organizers Call for Nationwide Mobilization

This image of the 2007 Paris riots is a reminder of how often France erupts into protests and violence. Photo: Mikael Marguerie, Paris, France, CC BY 2.0, via Wikimedia Commons.

The violent riots in France have officially been characterized as student protests, while some conservative commentators describe them as a Muslim uprising. One piece of evidence supporting their claims is the video footage on social media showing a disproportionate number of Muslims and young people from immigrant families among the rioters.

Those who maintain that these are student protests argue that the visible presence of immigrants reflects local demographics: the urban areas where the riots have been fiercest have immigrant populations that constitute a majority or a sizable minority. For many conservative commentators, this demographic shift is itself further cause for concern.

You’re right. I smoothed the wording without properly reorganizing it.

In addition to migration, commentators and researchers have pointed to nihilism as an explanation for violent lawlessness among young people in Europe. This interpretation has appeared in discussions of youth riots for more than a decade.

After the 2011 riots in England, Labour MP David Lammy called the violence “an explosion of hedonism and nihilism,” while London Mayor Boris Johnson blamed the nihilism and exclusion the riots revealed. Philosopher Slavoj Žižek described the violence as a “zero-degree protest,” a violent action that demands nothing. Sociologist Zygmunt Bauman called the rioters “defective and disqualified consumers,” young people shut out of a consumer society they wanted to join.

Similar explanations emerged after the 2023 French riots. A government inspection found that participants acted mostly out of opportunism, curiosity or a search for adrenaline, rather than a desire to attack symbols of authority. Some commentators argue that the current unrest was never really about schools and has become an exercise in nihilistic resentment, with students filming themselves and spreading the revolt online.

Political scientist Olivier Roy also applied the concept of nihilism to jihadism in France after the 2015 terrorist attacks. He described jihadism among young French Muslims and converts as a “generational and nihilist revolt,” arguing that their radicalism preceded their adoption of Islam as its label.

Surveys point to a broader malaise among European youth. The European Commission’s 2024 EU Youth Report found that nearly half of young people reported emotional or psychosocial difficulties in the previous year. A 2025 survey across 23 EU countries found that 77% believed the next generation would face a harder life.

However, conservatives still question how pessimism about the future explains the scale of destruction in France, and how the young people involved believe that burning schools and attacking police will resolve their problems.

The riots began September 17 at Saint-Exupéry high school in Créteil, in the Paris region. Students there protested a lack of teachers, nurses and supervisors, and overcrowded classrooms. The blockades spread to Marseille, Lille, Grenoble, Lyon and other cities. On October 1, 1,027 high schools were affected. On October 2, 564 schools were still disrupted. On October 6, at least 250,000 people marched across France, and the Interior Ministry counted 891 high schools disrupted.

Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu told the National Assembly on October 6 that 715 police and gendarmes, 215 students and 85 education staff had been injured since the movement began. He said most of the students were injured “following assaults or, to a lesser extent, accidents.”

The injured staff included 34 principals and deputy principals. Police made 6,059 arrests between September 28 and October 6, mostly of minors. The government has not released a breakdown of how many students were injured by rioters, by police or in accidents.

In Bordeaux on September 29, a firefighter responding to a fire at a student barricade on Rue Sainte-Catherine, near Lycée Montaigne, was engulfed in flames when an aerosol can exploded. He suffered burns to his legs, and authorities opened an investigation into arson causing serious injury. Video circulating on social media shows people at the scene filming and mocking him.

In Paris on October 1, about a dozen young people chased a trainee police lieutenant near Place Auguste-Métivier in the 20th arrondissement. They threw her to the ground and kicked her while shouting “Tuez-la!” (“Kill her!”).

In Ingré, in the Loiret department, the principal of Lycée Genevoix was punched in the face at the school entrance. The regional education authority filed a complaint. In La Ciotat, a teacher said pupils doused him with petrol as he tried to extinguish a fire outside a school.

In La Rochelle, rioters attacked a bus and threw Molotov cocktails. Eight people were taken into custody, and gatherings were banned around two schools.

Education Minister Édouard Geffray said 24 schools had been burned or ransacked. He estimated the cost, including damage to staff housing, at between €20 million ($22.4 million) and €30 million ($33.6 million). More than 100 schools suffered severe damage. Régions de France, the association representing the regional governments responsible for France’s 3,700 high schools, issued an initial estimate of about €20 million ($22.4 million).

Regional presidents reported estimates for their own territories. Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes estimated damage at between €25 million ($28 million) and €30 million ($33.6 million), including damage to school surroundings and vehicles. Île-de-France reported €7 million ($7.8 million), including about 50 destroyed gates.

Pays de la Loire reported €3 million ($3.4 million), at least €2 million ($2.2 million) of which resulted from the arson attack on Lycée Nelson-Mandela in Nantes. Occitanie also reported €3 million ($3.4 million), while Hauts-de-France and Grand Est each reported about €1 million ($1.1 million). Normandy’s president said damage there would reach tens of millions of euros. Combined, the regional estimates exceed €40 million ($44.7 million). Justice Minister Gérald Darmanin instructed prosecutors to hold parents liable for damage caused by their children.

Further violence was reported on October 6 and October 8. On October 6, the Interior Ministry reported 488 arrests and 43 police and gendarmes injured. On October 8, it reported 504 arrests and 48 police and gendarmes injured, and noted “an increase in urban violence.” That day, a deputy principal in Saint-Chamond was burned in the face by a firework mortar, several dozen people ransacked a school cafeteria in Saint-Étienne, and mortar fire hit teachers in Bayonne. In Toulouse, an adult demonstrator struck a principal. A police vehicle was set on fire in Strasbourg, and someone attempted to set fire to a police station in Bordeaux.

Student organizers have called for another nationwide mobilization on October 13, with school blockades and marches planned across France.

Beloved Chicago Bears Legend Mike Ditka Dead at 86

Legendary Chicago Bears coach, Mike Ditka, has passed away at 86.

Before coaching the 1985 team to their Super Bowl championship, he had a tremendous career as a player.

He was drafted by the Bears in the first round in 1961. As a rookie, he caught 56 passes for 1,076 yards and 12 touchdowns, the first tight end to top 1,000 yards in a season, and was the NFL Rookie of the Year.

He made the Pro Bowl in each of his first five seasons, helped the Bears win the 1963 NFL title, and started every game in six years in Chicago.

After playing for two other teams, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys, he moved into coaching.

After serving as an assistant coach in Dallas, he was hired by the Bears as head coach in 1982, and the legend of “Da Coach” was born.

His 1985 team, with Walter Payton and the 46 defense, went 15–1 and beat New England 46–10 in Super Bowl XX.

The Hall of Famer tight end was one of only two people to win a Super Bowl as a player, an assistant coach, and a head coach.

Jarrett Payton, the son of beloved Bear Walter Payton, shared a statement from the family.

“It’s with a heavy heart that I’m sharing the Ditka family has announced the passing of Mike Ditka this morning. Da Coach. Hall of Famer. The heartbeat of the ’85 Bears and a Super Bowl champion. Chicago won’t be the same. Prayers to Diana and the family. RIP, Coach.”

“Here’s a statement from the family: It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Mike Ditka. While the world knew Mike as a Hall of Fame football player, legendary coach, and leader of the Chicago Bears’ Super Bowl XX championship team, we knew him as the heart of our family. Mike will be missed beyond measure and remembered forever. With love and gratitude, The Ditka Family.”

Ditka became a cultural phenomenon, spawning his devoted crew on Saturday Night Live.

Ditka was also outspoken about his beliefs.

During the kneeling epidemic in the NFL, Ditka blasted the America-haters in the NFL.

“If you can’t respect this country get the hell out of it.”

Pro-Life Citizens Gather to Pray for the Courts as Supreme Court Begins New Term

Guest Post by Pro-life Leader Frank Pavone, National Director, Priests for Life
WASHINGTON, D.C. — We’ve all been in gatherings where we’ve sung Christian hymns, and we’re all familiar with so many of them. But when was the last time you heard a verse of a Christian hymn say, “And here comes judicial reform?”

For me, it was this past Monday, as I gathered with Christian conservative leaders and prayer warriors at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC to speak and lead prayer at third annual National Consecration of Our Court. This annual event focuses on prayer for the entire judicial branch of government, from the U.S. Supreme Court to federal appellate and district courts and state courts.

Monday was first day of the Supreme Court’s new term, and the event was organized by the Judicial Action Group (JAG), headed by Phillip Jauregui. JAG works to help citizens understand the judicial branch of our government, including the process of selecting, confirming and electing judges.

The gathering is an important reminder that the courts are just as consequential to the protection of unborn children as the legislative and executive branches. Most people have some experience in dealing with those two branches but are unclear on how to affect the judicial branch.

The way to do that is through keeping informed about specific judicial nominees and paying attention to judicial confirmation processes and elections.

At the gathering, different faith leaders prayed for the various levels of the American judicial system. Retired Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Tom Parker led prayer for the state courts, while Mike Berry from First Liberty Institute prayed for the federal district and appellate courts. Those courts deserve particular attention because – simply for practicality — well over 99% of court cases are resolved without ever reaching the Supreme Court.

Different faith leaders were assigned to pray individually for each justice and I was given Justice Brett Kavanaugh. In my remarks, I began by thanking God for President Trump, who reshaped the Court for the good of the prolife movement. I also thanked God for the US Senate Republicans who got rid of the filibuster for Supreme Court nominations. That was essential for reversing Roe, because none of President Trump’s three Supreme Court Justices got more than 54 votes.

The reversal of Roe, which Justice Kavanaugh helped accomplish by his vote, was an act of humility and repentance by the Court. His separate concurrence made the point that nine Justices should not presume to decide such a crucial issue for all the people.

I also noted that during his time on the DC Circuit Court of Appeals, Kavanaugh had previously sided with Priests for Life in our challenge to the federal HHS mandate requiring us to participate in a process that could facilitate the provision of contraception and abortion-inducing drugs to our employees.

Although a three-judge panel ruled against Priests for Life, Kavanaugh dissented from the denial of the organization’s request for an en banc hearing by the full appeals court. He said he would side with us, recognizing that the government had a less burdensome way of accomplishing its objectives without requiring Priests for Life to participate in a process that violated our beliefs.

(We ended up in the Supreme Court, and ultimately won that whole battle thanks to the election of President Trump.)

We all remembered the intense attacks he endured during his confirmation process, as well as the attempted assassination, and prayed for the protection of all the Justices.

The event sponsor, Judicial Action Group, researches and vets judicial candidates before they are nominated, confirmed or elected, helping citizens understand who the candidates are and what judicial philosophies they hold. Citizens can then communicate with their senators during federal confirmation processes and become informed participants in state judicial elections.

Let’s pray regularly for America’s courts (see ProLifePrayers.com) and make prayer for judges and the judicial system an ongoing part of the pro-life movement.

Bodycam Footage of Georgia Cop Who Gunned Down Adorable Baby Donkey is Released – Blows Up His Stated ‘Reason’ for Killing the Animal (VIDEO)

Credit: Cedartown Georgia Police Department

Police have finally released the body camera footage of the despicable Georgia cop who gunned down a baby donkey back in late August, and it destroys the disgusting lie he was trying to sell to the public.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Elsberry farm owner Hannah Israel revealed that Cedartown, Georgia police officers entered her family’s pasture and killed her donkey HeeHaw after they perceived him as a “threat.”

In a post on Facebook, Israel wrote, “At 12:45 am cops entered my pasture searching for a missing person WITHOUT permission or warning and shot and killed my bottle-raised BABY donkey.”

She added, “HeeHaw was raised in the house and did petting zoos; he never knew a stranger. And was shot and killed in his OWN pasture for doing what donkeys do. Alerting to a stranger.”

At the time, the police had been reportedly called to assist a bloodhound team that was searching for a missing 12-year-old girl.

Trenton Garner, the officer who killed Heehaw, claimed taking the animal’s life was the only way to protect himself, the K-9 officer, and the team of bloodhounds.

Garner later stated that he informed his sergeant and the animal’s owner.

Now, the body camera footage, released Thursday night, CONFIRMS that Gardner’s statement was a complete lie. The footage PROVES that Heehaw was not threatening anybody.

In the video, a curious HeeHaw walks up to greet what he thinks is a ‘friendly’ police officer. The K-9 handler then shoots Heehaw with a taser.

The donkey walks away, seemingly into the night.

But Garner, who is to the side, is not satisfied and proceeds to unload a hail of bullets into the innocent animal, causing it to fall to the ground several feet away.

Garner then gets on his radio to announce he has shot a donkey and that it was trying to attack him and the other officer in the pasture.

But the video makes clear this was a cold-blooded killing.

Based on this horrifying video and other facts in the case, the firing of Officer Gardner is nowhere near enough. He deserves a lengthy prison sentence and a massive fine.

Our nation also needs far more stringent animal welfare laws to deter crooked cops and others from killing innocent animals in cold blood.

Iowa Republican Congressional Candidate Leaves Democrat Opponent Flustered By Her Own Radical Record During Debate (Video)

State Rep. Lindsay James (L) debates Joseph Mitchell (R) in Iowa./Image: Video screenshot.

Joseph Mitchell is running in Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District to replace Republican Ashley Hinson, who is running for Senate.

During a debate with his opponent, Democrat state Rep. Lindsay James, Mitchell left James stumbling by simply reminding voters of her radical record in the State House.

Mitchell stated, “So this is before she made her home LA and San Francisco, Massachusetts, before she conveniently moved to Iowa just 10 years ago, immediately ran for office.”

“She gets in office, she missed over half her votes this last legislative session.”

“And when she was there, which was probably worse, she was voting to give illegal immigrants state-funded Medicaid, food stamps, housing assistance, sex changes for kids. She hasn’t seen a tax raise she didn’t like.”

“She was letting criminals off, violent criminals that we were trying to penalize and give the three strikes law to.”

“So again, we don’t judge her for being from Portland, Oregon.”

James, who looked like a deer in headlights, interjected, “These are absurd claims and absolutely misleading.”

Mitchell shot back, “It is not. And you know that’s true.”

He then dropped a simple line that left James looking haunted when he reminded her that all of her votes are on the record for voters to see.

“Well, we’ll have everything on our page after this, every single bill that she voted on that we just listed off.”

Watch:

Mitchell took to social media to share some of her radical votes and her dereliction of duty by missing 177 of 342 votes in the state house since launching her campaign.

James voted against a bill requiring noncitizens to verify immmigration status and Iowa residency to receive public assistance.

In 2023, James voted against a bill prohibiting the mutilation of minors through sex reassignment surgeries. In 2025, James voted against a bill prohibiting state funds from being used for sex reassignment surgeries, forcing taxpayers to foot the bill.
