Modern Age is furthering the vision of its founder, the late Russell Kirk, by making a new foray into the digital world this fall. Under the helm of Dan McCarthy, its current editor, the journal has refurbished its website under the aegis of its parent organization, the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI). To celebrate this step, ISI hosted an in-person debate in Washington, D.C., on October 31, seeking to mimic the insightful give-and-take that takes place in the pages of Modern Age, “the forum for stimulating debate and discussion of the most important ideas of concern to conservatives of all stripes.”

The event was moderated by McCarthy himself. His two guests were Henry Olsen, the Washington Post columnist, and Donald Devine, a senior scholar at the Fund for American Studies. The questions at hand: Is Reagan’s brand of conservatism fundamentally libertarian or populist? Was he a champion of the working class, and should conservatives apply his example today? Olsen argued that Reagan was more of a populist than people realize; Devine contended that Reagan’s preference for federalist solutions was fundamentally libertarian. Both interlocutors were armed to the teeth with supporting quotations and articles, bringing the idea of “zombie Reaganism” to life in that short hour.

And that is what is so special about Modern Age itself. Like TAC, it is designed to make readers think critically about conservatism’s place in today’s changing world, and gives license to its writers to share their ideas professionally and enthusiastically.

The sanctity of a free press and the protection of journalistic sources have come under direct fire in the Lone Star State, according to Sarah Fields, Director of Advocacy for the Texas Freedom Coalition and a reporter for The Publica, after exposing the possible existence of a Hamas training camp near the US-Mexico border.

Fields recently made public a harrowing account of ‘corrupt’ FBI agents arriving unannounced at her doorstep—not once, but twice—in a brazen attempt to intimidate and extract information about her confidential sources.

It began on October 17th when, according to Fields, FBI agents appeared at her doorstep while she was away. She recounts that the agents later contacted her, insisting on a private meeting at their local office to discuss her reporting—particularly stories related to war and the border. Fields, true to the ethos of journalistic integrity, refused.

“It became harassment after I didn’t show up to their private meeting,” said Fields.

Fields wrote on X/Twitter:

I’ve been debating on whether to share about this or not. But because they showed up to my house unannounced AGAIN today, I decide to go ahead and let you all know. The FBI showed up to my door unannounced on October 17th. I was not home and I won’t share the whole video for the sake of protecting others in my home. They called me later in the day, and wanted to arrange a meeting in private at their local office.

They wanted to speak to me about certain stories I have reported on (with special interest regarding anything war or border related) and the only conclusion I can come to is that they would like access to my sources. They also told me they were “uncomfortable speaking about these topics on the phone”. I did not meet with them.

I DO NOT and WILL NOT share sources, especially when they have requested to remain anonymous. Such is the right of a journalist in the United States of America. I understand that the FBI has a few “good guys” spread through out their agency. However, it’s impossible to know who is good and who is corrupt. The FBI is corrupted beyond repair and you will never see me cooperate with them. Right now, they’re acting like a desperate guy who got turned down and has now turned stalker. If the FBI is reading this, kindly stick it.

Speaking exclusively to The Publica, Fields claims that the core of the FBI’s interest seems to center on Field’s coverage of a former training ground for Hamas in Matamoros, Mexico, just across the border from Brownsville, Texas.

On October 7, Fields reported:

For years, in Matamoros, Mexico, directly across the border from Brownsville, Tx, Hamas had a training center. Once a large factory, the building was used to train young, military age men. Dressed in all black, these men would wait for the river to be low enough to cross over the border and illegally infiltrate the US for further training. Hamas has training camps in Mexico, and has for a long time.

Thousands of jihadists have crossed the border and disappeared into the US. Some given rooms and cell phones (courtesy of your tax dollars). Many have been flown to multiple cities through out the United States including Hartford, Tampa, Atlanta and Houston. The majority that travels into this country illegally are not women and children, they are military age men.

America needs to wake up. Thousands of sleeper fighters are in our backyard and the Biden Administration is not only aware, they’re complicit. The attack on Israel is only the beginning. Get your households in order.

Fields maintains that despite other media outlets dismissing the story as unfounded, her sources—which have proven reliable in the past—affirm that the site was operational until sometime between 2021 and 2022.

Feilds’ refusal to cooperate with the FBI culminated in another unannounced visit to her residence on November 7th.

She claims the agency’s methods are akin to stalking, highlighting a broader misuse of power to suppress freedom of speech and press.

After refusing to meet, FBI agents once again turned up at Fields’ home on November 7th.

“The only conclusion I can come to is that they would like access to my sources,” Fields argued.

While not at the border, Fields said she uses a team of “boots on the ground undercover journalists” who provide her information and videos of what’s happening “almost on a daily basis.”

“One of them very specifically does not want their identity shared,” Fields said. “It would compromise them and if the wrong people intervene, they would no longer be able to share the information that they share. Sharing their identity and location could also place them in danger of the cartel discovering who they are.”

“My source has NEVER been wrong,” she continued. “And I don’t think the FBI would be harassing me if it was false to be honest. I have journalistic integrity and I will never give up a source. I will go to jail first.”

The FBI has made several attempts to contact our reporter @SarahisCensored over stories she has covered.

She notes they have a special interest in her coverage of war and border-related issues and believes they are after her sources.

In a statement to The Gateway Pundit, Fields has detailed her experiences and observations at the US-Mexico border, which have included disturbing cartel activities and foreign threats.

In the past couple of years, I have visited the border a few times. I observe, take photos and learn. I have shared about the open border issue since 2021. Wrist bands given by the cartel, pregnant women having their babies removed and left on the ground and their stomachs stuffed with drugs.

Portable ultrasound machines that are being used by the cartel because pregnant women are more valuable. And when I’m not there, I have boots on the ground undercover journalists who are there and providing me info and photos almost on a daily basis. If it’s newsworthy, I share about it and I do not share their identity.

One of them very specifically does not want their identity shared. It would compromise them and if the wrong people intervene, they would no longer be able to share the information that they share. They have been weaponized against good Americans and seek to silence those who want to expose the truth. I would never work with them. And I want everyone to think about this… They’re more interested in knowing WHO my source is and not the info they have to share so that it can be investigated. That says a lot.

President Trump is the Republican Party and America’s clear frontrunner. However, with the recent election shenanigans in Pennsylvania and Arizona, two states that were rigged and stolen in 2020; the lawfare to remove Trump from the ballot in numerous states, politically motivated prosecutors indicting Trump, and the threat of World War III, who knows if we’ll even have an election next November?

The Justice Department on Wednesday announced arrests in a high-end brothel network used by elected officials, military officers, doctors and more.

“Three individuals have been arrested in connection with operating sophisticated high-end brothels in greater Boston and eastern Virginia. Commercial sex buyers allegedly included elected officials, high tech and pharmaceutical executives, doctors, military officers, government contractors that possess security clearances, professors, attorneys, scientists and accountants, among others,” the US Attorney’s Office of the District of Massachusetts said.

According to the DOJ, the following defendants have been charged with conspiracy to coerce and entice to travel to engage in illegal sexual activity:

Han Lee, a/k/a “Hana,” 41, of Cambridge, Mass.;
James Lee, 68, of Torrance, Calif.; and
Junmyung Lee, 30, of Dedham, Mass.

According to the charging documents, the defendants operated an interstate prostitution network with multiple brothels from July 2020 to present in Cambridge and Watertown, Massachusetts, as well as in Fairfax and Tysons, Virginia.

The US Attorney’s Office did not disclose the client list.

“This case goes back to the summer of 2022 when investigators identified several buyers through surveillance phone records and interviews,” Acting US Attorney for Massachusetts, Joshua Levy said. “The buyers who made up this ring hail from an array of professions.”

He added: “They are doctors, they are lawyers, they are accountants, they are elected officials, they are executives of high tech companies and pharmaceutical companies, they are military officers, government contractors, professors, scientists. They are the men who fuel this commercial sex ring.”

“There are potentially hundreds of individuals who took these services as commercial sex buyers,” Levy said, noting the investigation into the brothels is still ongoing.

“Alleged prospective sex buyers in this scheme first had to respond to a survey and provide information online, including their driver’s license photos, their employer information, credit card information, and they often paid a monthly fee to be part of this.”

The third Republican debate is set to take place in Miami, Florida, with five candidates ready to take the stage. Several candidates who participated in the previous debates failed to qualify for the third round. North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, despite qualifying for the first two debates, did not meet the nationally polling requirements for the third debate. It is speculated that he may withdraw from the race in the coming weeks. 

Governor Hutchinson, who was on stage at the first debate, also failed to qualify for the second and third debates. Despite this setback, he has not yet withdrawn from the race. Other candidates, including Ryan Binkley, Suarez, Pence, Elder, Johnson, Hurd, and former Montana Secretary of State Corey Stapleton, have all dropped out of the race.

In an interesting twist, conservative radio host Larry Elder and author Perry Johnson, both of whom have withdrawn from the race, have endorsed Trump. Former U.S. Rep. Will Hurd, who also withdrew from the race, has endorsed Haley. Pence and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez have not yet announced their endorsements.

On the eve of the debate, Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who served as Trump’s White House press secretary, issued her official endorsement of Trump. In her statement, she praised the policies of the Trump era and criticized the current administration.

In the lead-up to the debate, candidates have been taking shots at each other. Haley released a video titled ‘These Boots are Made for Lying,’ which criticizes DeSantis’ record on energy and his stance on fracking. The Nikki Haley for President campaign accused DeSantis of being willing to lie during the upcoming debate.

To qualify for the third debate, candidates needed to garner 70,000 unique donors, including 200 from at least 20 different states. They also needed to earn 4 percent in two different national polls or 4 percent in one national poll and 4 percent in two separate statewide polls in two of the four early primary states – Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina.

As the third Republican debate approaches, it is clear that the race for the 2024 GOP nomination is heating up. With Trump choosing to hold a rally instead of participating in the debate, the remaining candidates will have a chance to make their case to the American people without his dominating presence on the stage.

Seven Nashville police officers have been placed on administrative leave following the leak of the ‘manifesto’ of school shooter Audrey Hale, who fatally shot three nine-year-olds and three teachers before being shot dead by police.

The manifesto, which was shrouded in secrecy since the shooting, revealed Hale’s plan to target ‘little crackers’ and ‘white privileged’ individuals, which sparked a heated debate over whether it should be made public.

The local authorities and FBI refused to release the manifesto to the public following the mass shooting by Hale in March.

It can be recalled that Nashville Police told FOX News in late April that they would finally release the manifesto of the trans shooter that they recovered from her car following the attack on March 27, 2023.

The release of the manifesto was delayed again in early May. Michael LaChance reported, “The excuse this time is that there is ‘pending litigation’ around the document. Does anyone believe any of this?”

The Daily Mail reported in May that the manifesto is now in the judge’s hands.

A judge in Nashville has been provided with an unredacted copy of the trans shooter manifesto. And it could be soon released to the public.

According to Fox News 17, the judge was given two versions of the manifesto to review: one with no redactions and another with proposed redactions made by city attorneys.

However, lawyers at The Covenant School filed a motion of intervention to prevent the release of trans shooter Audrey Hale’s manifesto, arguing that doing so would compromise the safety of the school, its staff, and its students.

Radio talk show host Michael Patrick Leahy, who has filed a lawsuit to release the manifesto, received an ugly threat on July 9, according to Just the News.

The release by Steven Crowder sent Nashville officials scrambling, with the city’s mayor requesting an investigation into the concerning leak.

“I have directed Wally Dietz, Metro’s Law Director, to initiate an investigation into how these images could have been released. That investigation may involve local, state, and federal authorities. I am deeply concerned with the safety, security, and well-being of the Covenant families and all Nashvillians who are grieving,” said Democratic Mayor of Nashville, Freddie O’Connell.

The Chief of Police in Nashville, John Drake, has acknowledged the authenticity of the documents in a public announcement, expressing his deep concern over the unauthorized disclosure of three pages from the manifesto.

“I am greatly disturbed by today’s unauthorized release of three pages of writings from the Covenant shooter,” said Drake in a release. “This police department is extremely serious about the investigation to identify the person responsible.”

“We are not at liberty to release the journals until the courts rule,” he said. “Our police department looks forward to the ultimate resolution of the litigation concerning the journals.”

On Tuesday, Candace Owens said that two police officers are reportedly facing potential terminations following the leak of a manifesto.

“I just got word that two officers are due to be fired over the release of the Nashville Manifesto pages. Allegedly, the documents were sold by one of the officers,” she wrote.

On Wednesday, the Nashville Police Department confirmed to local news outlet WSMV that seven police officers were suspended in relation to the leak of the manifesto.

The news outlet reported:

As WSMV4 Investigates continued to dig into the leak, investigative reporter Stacey Cameron received information that multiple officers had been placed on leave this week in connection with the department’s investigation into the source of the leak.

When WSMV4 reached out to MNPD to confirm that information, department spokesperson Don Aaron wrote back stating that “seven individuals are on administrative assignment to protect the integrity of the active, progressing investigation.”

Aaron emphasized that the administrative move was “absolutely not-punitive” and that out of fairness to the officers, the department would not be identifying them.

According to Aaron, all seven officers continue to have full police power as the investigation moves forward.

Steven Crowder responded to this new development, saying, “The powers that be are more concerned about finding the leaker than they are about the contents of Audrey Hale’s anti-white manifesto. Interesting.”

Gregory Yetman, was a military police sergeant in the New Jersey National Guard at the time of the riot.

Yetman is accused of picking up a large canister of pepper spray from the ground and spraying it toward Capitol police and protesters! For this crime – something that happens each weekend at your local antifa riot – the FBI launched a major manhunt for Yetman!

The FBI tipped off local New York news and a helicopter with a sky cam was sent out to film the raid this morning!

Rep. Rich McCormick (R-GA) introduced the resolution to censure the disgusting anti-Semite as Jim Hoft previously revealed. McCormick pointed out that Tlaib embraced the pro-Hamas phrase “from the river to to the sea” which is a call for a Nazi-style genocide of Jews in Israel and correctly noted she was “promoting false narratives” after she called Israel an “apartheid” state.

The final vote was 234-188. 22 Democrats voted in favor of censuring Tlaib while four RINOs voted against doing so.

Before the vote, Tlaib offered a vile and pathetic defense for her sick remarks while blaming everyone but herself. She then started sobbing in the middle of her speech and needed fellow Jew-hater Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) to help her recover.

She portrayed herself as victim throughout the tirade and falsely accused Israel of committing war crimes while ignoring the proven atrocities committed by Hamas.

Her fit was made even worse by the fact she used her grandmother living in Gaza as a prop to defend herself. Absolutely shameless.

President Biden must listen to and represent all of us not just some of us. I urge the president to have the courage to call for a ceasefire and an end to the killings.

At no point did Tlaib express empathy for the Jewish families burned alive in their beds, the young people slaughtered, and the helpless women raped by Hamas savages. She did not even bother mentioning the October 7th terrorist attack which started the war.

The House Oversight Committee on Wednesday subpoenaed Hunter Biden, James Biden and their former business associate Rob Walker for in-person depositions as part of their impeachment inquiry.

Comer also requested transcribed interviews from Hallie Biden – Beau Biden’s widow-turned-Hunter Biden’s girlfriend, Sara Biden (James Biden’s wife) and Melissa Cohen (Hunter’s current wife).

A transcribed interview from Biden Crime Family whistleblower Tony Bobulinski was also requested.

This is the first time subpoenas have been issued for testimony. Comer previously subpoenaed bank records for Hunter and James Biden.

James Comer recently uncovered a $200,000 direct payment to Joe Biden after he received James and Hunter’s subpoenaed documents.

In 2018, Jim Biden received $600,000 in ‘loans’ from Americore Health LLC, a failing/bankrupt rural hospital operator. According to bankruptcy documents, Jim Biden received the loans “based upon representations that his last name Biden could open doors and that he could obtain a large investment from the Middle East based on his political connections.”

On March 1, 2018, Americore Health LLC wired a $200,000 payment to Jim and Sara Biden’s personal bank account. On that very same day, Jim Biden then wrote a $200,000 check to Joe Biden, AKA, “The Big Guy.”

Jim Biden wrote the check to Joe Biden as a so-called “loan repayment.” Does Joe Biden have documents proving he lent his brother such a large sum of money? “What were the terms?” Comer asked.

Last Thursday House Oversight Chairman James Comer demanded Joe Biden provide loan documents (loan payment, loan agreement) and IRS filings regarding the $200,000 “loan repayment” James Biden said he made to Joe “The Big Guy” Biden in 2018.

Last Friday night, the Republican-led Oversight Committee said Joe Biden is refusing to provide applicable loan documentation to show he loaned his brother James Biden money.

Joe Biden also received $40,000 in laundered China money.
