Politicians, especially those who have been gifted by voters with the right to occupy the Oval Office for a term or two, often make huge sums afterward with books.

The online site Brooksy, for example, now lists the “10 best books on President Obama.” Not the 10 books on his presidency … the 10 BEST books.

Joe Biden’s legacy, however, is moving another direction, after a major publisher abruptly canceled its plans for a book about his term in office.

A report at Politico notes in a “further reflection of the soft market for books about President Joe Biden, publisher Simon and Schuster has withdrawn its contract with Alex Thompson, Axios’ national political correspondent, for a book about the Biden administration.”

The project was supposed to be published early this year, and likely would have been a benefit to Biden’s attempt to gain control of the White House for another four years.

Plans were for it to be “a comprehensive book on Biden’s presidency.”

The report explained, “Simon and Schuster’s decision comes as a series of Biden books have sold relatively poorly — compared, at least, to the standards set by a number of best-sellers about predecessor DONALD TRUMP. Thompson is now actively engaged in talks with other publishers and is still working on the draft, according to a person close to him.”

It continued, “GABRIEL DEBENEDETTI’s ‘The Long Alliance’ has sold around 1,500 hardcover copies, according to NPD BookScan, while CHRIS WHIPPLE’s ‘The Fight of His Life’ has sold around 5,000 and FRANKLIN FOER‘s ‘The Last Politician’ around 12,000. That compares to the nearly 1 million copies that MICHAEL WOLFF’s Trump-focused ‘Fire and Fury’ sold, also per NPD BookScan, and the more than 400,000 copies sold of BOB WOODWARD and ROBERT COSTA’s ‘Peril.’”

A report at the Post Millennial cited the “lack of market interest” in a Biden book.

“People don’t buy Biden books,” the report explained.

Pro-Trump electors in Arizona pleaded the Fifth before a grand jury as Democrat Attorney General Kris Mayes decides whether to bring criminal charges.

Arizona’s Democrat Attorney General Kris Mayes admitted last year she is investigating Trump’s 2020 alternate electors from Arizona.

Mayes’ office knew the alternate electors were going to invoke their Fifth Amendment rights but she made them appear before a grand jury anyway. This is a highly unusual and risky move.

The Fifth Amendment allows a person to exercise their right to remain silent to protect against self-incrimination.

Democrat prosecutors requiring the Pro-Trump alternate electors to plead the Fifth before a grand jury could unnecessarily prejudice the grand jurors.

Although the Fifth Amendment is not an admission of guilt, grand jurors may assume the pro-Trump alternate electors are guilty.

“The prosecutors’ decision to require these people to appear in person is the latest escalation of the long-running probe by the state’s attorney general, Kris Mayes, into election interference by Trump allies. The tactic is also highly unusual and risks biasing the grand jury against key targets of the probe, according to independent legal experts who have worked as both prosecutors and defense lawyers.” Politico reported.

“If the grand jury charges them, it could even provide a longshot basis for the targets to challenge the indictment,” Politico said.

“But prosecutors working for Mayes have required some of the false electors they’re investigating to physically appear before the grand jury and formally assert their Fifth Amendment rights — despite the fact that their defense lawyers told prosecutors they would take that step, according to two people familiar with the probe who were granted anonymity to share the details on the sensitive investigation,” the magazine reported.

When the Democrats cast alternate electors it’s called ‘dueling electors.’ When the Republicans cast alternate electors it’s called ‘fake electors’ and indictments come down from crooked Democrat attorneys general.

Democrat prosecutors in other states are also targeting Trump’s alternate electors.

In July Democrat Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel criminally charged 16 dueling ‘Trump electors’ in the state’s 2020 election.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis recently indicted three of Trump’s alternate electors in Georgia as part of her RICO and conspiracy case against Trump.

Leave it the ladies of “The View” to take the most hysterical interpretation of every utterance or action Donald Trump’s.

And on Wednesday, the ladies of “The View” were downright apoplectic upon learning of Trump’s new endeavor in selling, with country singer Lee Greenwood, his “God Bless the USA” bibles.

These Bibles, as The Hill explained in their story on the subject, cost about $60 each.

They included the King James translation of the Bible, copies of the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, the Constitution, the Pledge of Allegiance, and a handwritten verse of Greenwood’s song, “God Bless the USA.”

Now, while Trump has not generally been the most flawless example of good Christian living, and his initial announcement was somewhat awkward, he should at least be applauded for his attempt to “make America pray again.”

The ladies of “The View,” however, did not share this sentiment — in fact, they thought quite the opposite.

As shown in this snippet of the show shared by the Daily Caller, co-host Sunny Hostin even thought the whole enterprise was “blasphemous.”

Hostin began by joking, “You know, it’s Holy Week, and so I cannot say what I would like to say.”

Joy Behar, the co-host who has seemingly been in a competition with Whoopi Goldberg to embarrass herself the most times on television, then chimed in with her two cents.

Behar said, “There’s an old saying. … It’s a historical saying, that … ‘When fascism comes to America, it will be waving a flag and holding a Bible.’”

She then told the audience, “take a look” at the screen behind them, which dutifully displayed the famous picture of Trump hugging the flag together with another of Trump holding a Bible.

… And?

Many people have waved flags and held Bibles without being fascists, what exactly was her point?

Besides, Behar didn’t even remember the quotation correctly.

The quotation actually was, “When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross,” said to have come from author Sinclair Lewis.

Although, as fact-checking website Snopes noted, it did not actually appear in any of his writings.

Never mind that the most famous fascists, Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini, were quite areligious, even anti-religious (especially Hitler, seeing as Catholic priests and nuns were sent to the gas chambers along with the Jews).

Alas, though, the ladies of “The View” were not quite finished.

Behar ended her point, claiming “that is what we are looking at right now. Remember that in November.”

And Hostin threw in, as the last word, “It’s blasphemous!”

The crowning irony was that the ladies of “The View” have been arguably worse examples of good Christian living than Trump himself.

To begin with, all of them have been vocal in their support of abortion, a morally reprehensible position antithetical to Christian teaching, as well as for gay marriage.

Further, Behar once created outrage by calling strong Christian faith a “mental illness” on “The View” in 2018, and her co-host Hostin once made the blasphemous claim that “Jesus would be the grand marshal of the Pride Parade.”

And that was all to say nothing of the sick anti-Christian message Goldberg sported on her sweatshirt in the wake of the shooting at the Nashville Christian school, her unhinged rants accusing everyone and everything of racism (except Hitler, bizarrely), and her siding with a guest on the show who compared the “Christian right” to the Taliban.

Trump might not be the best Christian example out there in public life, but comparatively, he has been leagues ahead of the ladies on “The View.”

The ladies of “The View” had no room to talk when it came to the question of being a good Christian.

“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin was demolished Wednesday by writer and author Coleman Hughes after she accused him of being a “pawn” and “charlatan.”

Hughes was on “The View” to promote his book “The End Of Race Policies.” He argues in his literary work for a color-blind society centered on treating people “without regard to race.” Instead, he stresses the importance of using economics to better understand and help disadvantaged Americans.

Hughes emphasized these arguments throughout the segment. He also criticized the push on young people that “race is everything” and woke education under questioning from Whoopi Goldberg, who claimed race-based teachings were handed down to the younger generations because people like herself were never “educated” on racism.

“I think I view this notion of a colorblind society, similar to the idea of a peaceful society, which is to say it’s an ideal, it’s a North Star, said Hughes. “And the point is not that we’re never gonna get there, we’ll never touch it, but we have to know when we’re going forward and when we’re going backward, and we’re going backward when we’re doing woke kindergarten in San Francisco.”

He surprisingly received applause from the liberal audience for his politically incorrect statements.

Things were tense but civil until Hostin began her disgraceful interrogation of Hughes. Hostin, who was shocked to learn last month that her ancestors owned slaves, slammed Hughes’s commonsense and righteous advocacy as “fundamentally flawed” and falsely claimed that race is baked into socioeconomic disparity.

Hughes disagreed vehemently, saying a “Bill of Rights for the disadvantaged” based on what Dr. Martin Luther King pushed serves as a good plan to help all impoverished Americans.

Hostin proceeded to call Hughes a liar, claiming King pushed reparations while touting her friendship with King’s daughter, Bernice. She then personally attacked him as a charlatan and a pawn for conservatives.

“I think the premise is fundamentally flawed, said Hostin.” You claim that color blindness was the goal of the civil rights movement based upon Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech. You know, content of character versus color of skin. Bernice, Dr. King’s daughter points out that four years after giving that speech actually, Dr. King also said this, “A society that has done something special against the Negro for hundreds of years must now do something special for negroes.” He also said in 1968, it was about less than a week before he was assassinated, “This country never stops to realize that they owe a people kept in slavery for 244 years.”

“So, rather than class, he did write about that earlier on,” she continued. “Right before his death, he made the argument for racial equality and racial reparations, and so your argument for color-blindness, I think, is something that the right has co-opted. And so many in the black community – if I’m being honest with you because I want to be, believe that you are being used as a pawn by the right and that you’re a charlatan of sorts.”

There are just a couple of problems: Hughes is not a conservative nor a Republican. Yet Hostin proceeded to embarrass herself by insisting he was one for the next several seconds even after RINO “The View” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin attempted to correct her multiple times.

Once Hughes finally got the opportunity to speak again, he turned the tables and started dominating the conversation. He stuck to his guns regarding a colorblind society and slapped down Hostin’s lies regarding him being co-opted. He also pointed out King wanted a bill of rights for a broad class-based society.

“I think it’s very important,” Hughes said. “The quote that you just pointed out about doing something special for the Negro, that’s from the book Why We Can’t Wait that I just mentioned. A couple paragraphs later he lays out exactly what that something special was and it was the bill of rights for the disadvantaged, a broad class-based policy.”

“I don’t think I’ve been co-opted by anyone,” Hughes continued. “I’ve only voted twice, both for a Democrats. Although, I’m an independent.”

“I think that’s an ad hominem tactic people use to not address, really, the important conversations we’re having here…I have an independent podcast. I work for CNN as an analyst. I write for the Free Press. I’m independent in all of these endeavors and no one is paying me to say what I’m saying. I’m saying it because I feel it.”

Hostin could barely get in more than a few words in response to Hughes’s calm evisceration before Whoopi Goldberg cut her off.

Miraculously, during ballot counting for the Democrat primary results for Cook County state’s attorney, Chicago announced the existence of an additional 10,000 mail-in ballots that were “mistakenly” not mentioned until it became clear that Eileen O’Neill Burke was leading radical neo-Marxist candidate Clayton Harris III by just under 4,800 votes.

It’s just a coincidence.

But delusional Illinois Governor JB Pritzker is working hard to gaslight voters in the state.  He took to social media to say, “Here in Illinois, our elections are protected. We’re not scared of more of our people exercising their right to vote. That’s why we’ve expanded early voting, curbside voting, and made the vote-by-mail registry permanent to protect your fundamental right.”

Shortly after the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed, former fraud investigator and veteran Jimmy Corsetti took to X and pointed out that in Obama’s new Netflix movie “Leave the World Behind” there is a scene where a massive cargo ship crashes into the beach after losing power from a cyber attack.

Corsetti added in the thread that the cargo ship in the movie was named the “White Lion” and highlighted that the country of Sri Lanka has a lion on its national flag.

He then noted the Dali cargo ship was en route to Sri Lanka before it tragically crashed into the Key bridge.

In response to Corsetti’s theory, Matt Walsh released a video explaining how the scene in Obama’s movie was just a “coincidence.”

Walsh stated, “It is very, very stupid to theorize that Obama coordinated a cargo ship’s collision with a bridge and for some reason left a trail of clues for right-wingers on Twitter to discover.”

House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) on Thursday *invited* Joe Biden to testify before his committee on his family’s influence peddling scheme.

“The Committee has accounted for over $24 million that has flowed from foreign sources to you, your family, and their business associates. The Committee has identified no legitimate services to merit such lucrative payments. You have repeatedly denied playing any role in your family’s business activities, but the Committee has amassed evidence—including bank records and witness testimony—that wholly contradicts your position on these matters,” Comer wrote in a letter to Joe Biden.

Comer called Biden out for taking money from China.

“You have asserted your family has not made money from China. However, the Committee has identified approximately $10 million originating from China connected to Biden influence peddling. Former business associates of your family have testified that you personally met with multiple individuals from China who have collectively sent millions of dollars to your family. Many of these meetings and business development occurred while you were Vice President or campaigning to be President,” Comer said.

James Comer said Biden needs to answer for pressuring Ukraine to fire Viktor Shokin, the solicitor general who was investigating the Ukrainian gas company tied to Hunter Biden.

“You have asserted that your pressuring Ukraine in 2015 to fire a government official investigating a company in which your son had a financial interest was wholly in line with U.S. policy. The Committee has received bank records showing that your son was paid $1 million per year for his position on the board of the Ukrainian company Burisma until you left public office and then his salary was inexplicably cut in half. Additionally, the Committee has been obstructed by the White House regarding information necessary to evaluate action you took regarding the firing of the Ukrainian government official,” Comer said.

Chairman Comer called Biden out for his business dealings with Russia.

“You have asserted that you “never talked business” with your family’s business associates. However, the Committee has received testimony that you in fact regularly joined meetings by speakerphone, including with certain Russian individuals with whom your son did business. The Committee has identified several instances in which your involvement aligned with your family receiving money originating from Russia,” Comer said.

Comer added, “In February 2014, the richest woman in Russia paid into your son and his business associate’s company $3.5 million days before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, in an apparent attempt to avoid U.S. sanctions on Russian bank accounts. To date, the Russian oligarch has not been subject to any public sanctions.”

The Oversight Committee said it is open to accommodating Biden’s schedule but proposed April 16, 2024 for the hearing to occur.

“President Biden must answer questions about his participation in his family’s pay-for-influence schemes,” Comer said.

Both the Kansas House and Senate passed a bill banning sex change hormones and puberty blockers for minors on Wednesday — but Democrat Governor Laura Kelly is expected to veto it.

The legislature passed a similar bill last year, which Kelly also vetoed.

Despite a Republican supermajority, the legislature failed to override Kelly’s veto on that bill and one that would have protected girls’ sports by barring biological males from competing against them.

The Hill reports:

The state Senate on Wednesday passed this year’s bill, Senate Bill 233, with a veto-proof majority, while the House, which advanced the measure in an 82-39 party-line vote, fell slightly short. Two House Republicans that were absent for Wednesday’s vote — state Reps. Michael Houser and Samantha Poetter Parshall — have previously voted in favor of the legislation and would give the House the two-thirds majority needed to override a veto.

If Republicans succeed in overriding a likely veto from Kelly, Kansas will be the 25th state to ban gender-affirming care for minors, and the third to do so this year. Laws restricting access to care in at least four states are not currently being enforced because they are tied up in the courts.

“Today, the Senate took a firm stand in support of helping and not harming children by making it clear that radical transgender ideology and the mutilation of minors is not legal nor welcome in Kansas,” state Senate President Ty Masterson said in a statement after the vote.

It remains unclear if the Republicans can rally enough votes to override another veto.
