In the Bible’s New Testament, there is a very famous parable told by Jesus known as the story of the prodigal son. In this story a young man with a rich father asked his father if he could have his share of his father’s property. The son, one of two, wanted his inheritance before his father died. I’m not sure if it was even customary for a son to ask for this. Certainly in today’s times this would not be an appropriate request of one’s father. I suspect it was the same in that time. Anyway, the father gave his son half of his property. He must have been a very giving father to do this.

The young man took his father’s money and began to spend it, blowing away his entire share of his father’s assets. He drank, spent the money on his friends, and had lots of fun. Eventually, the young man ran out of money and ended up working for a farmer in a pig sty, taking care of pigs and living off the food prepared for the pigs.

One day the young man realized that the slaves on his father’s land were treated better than he was in his predicament. So he decided to go back to his father’s house and ask to work for his father. His father, upon seeing his son walking toward the house, ran out to meet his son, hugged him, and said, “Let’s have a party to celebrate my son’s return.” The other son, who had been by his father’s side all these years, became upset and told his father this. His father agreed with the good son that he’d been very good and reliable. He added that the reason for his joy was that his other son was lost, but now he was found.

For anyone who has ever found recovery, this story is very relatable. A recovering individual can relate to the prodigal son. An alcoholic or drug abuser is like the prodigal son in that he or she trashes his or her life with booze or drugs and abuses all the good gifts God has given him or her. Then in the end, when life has gotten to a point of no return, the addict or alcoholic, on his or her last legs, decides to find recovery and ask God for help. Sure enough, God is there to celebrate his or her return to life.

(I say life because the life of a practicing alcoholic or addict is really nothing more than a fast-paced death march.)

The part of the prodigal son’s story that I always had a problem with was the role the other brother played. He worked hard for his father, never asked for much, and was a reliable, good, and subservient son. He did all a father could ask, and he watched his brother hurt his father, take half of his father’s property, and blow it all away, only to come back and be celebrated by his father.

Any anger or disgust that the other brother had, I could certainly understand. I did not understand how Jesus could tell this story with this great flaw in it. Then one day I found the answer in an old book. The author explained that the prodigal son represents the sins of the body, while the other son represents the sins of the soul. Sins of the body include sex, drugs, alcohol, and food; when used in an abusive way, they cause bodily harm to an individual or others. Sins of the soul are deeper and more painful in that they are the emotional, mental, or spiritual pains that we experience, often due to others’ actions or our perceptions of others’ actions.

The story of the prodigal son is more about the other son, for he had to overcome the challenges in his life imposed on him by the actions of his brother. His prodigal brother had wasted his father’s inheritance and had gone wild while this brother had helped his father. This other son understandably had resentment toward his prodigal brother and was even more hurt by his father celebrating when his prodigal brother came home.

Russian propaganda has made it to the House floor—at least, so says Representative Mike Turner.

“There are members of Congress today who still incorrectly say that this conflict between Russia and Ukraine is over NATO, which of course it is not. Vladimir Putin having made it very clear, both publicly and to his own population, that his view is that this is a conflict of a much broader claim of Russia to Eastern Europe, including claiming all of Ukrainian territories as Russian,” Turner told CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday morning. “To the extent that this propaganda takes hold, it makes it more difficult for us to really see this as an authoritarian versus democracy battle, which is what it is,”

Turner’s comments are ill-informed, as this magazine has laid out time and time again. The United States’ incongruent, duplicitous diplomacy with Russia since the end of the Cold War, of which NATO expansion is at its center, has led to the current moment. Turner would have the public believe the war started in a vacuum—there was nothing until the big bang. 

What’s more, Russia has not shown the ability to go deep into western Ukraine. Of course, Turner and his ilk say that’s because the unerring Ukrainians beat the Russians back. If that is the case, then why does Turner believe a Russian military that stalled outside of Kiev would be capable of and interested in marching on Warsaw.

There is a straightforward explanation for Turner’s Sunday morning screed. The most powerful hat Turner wears in Congress is the chair of the House Intelligence Committee. As Congress comes back from Easter recess, Congress will have to confront FISA Section 702 renewal. The Intelligence Committee, backed by Biden’s law enforcement and intelligence agencies, is in a war with the House Judiciary Committee, which wants to provide Americans more protections against government surveillance.

If Russian propaganda has made it to the House floor, where else might it be? Wouldn’t Mike Turner and the National Security Agency like to know.

You would think that, given the cost of living and the exodus already underway from the Golden State, nobody would be trying to make California more expensive than it already is.

But this is California, a state where Jerry “Governor Moonbeam” Brown can be considered a relative political moderate in the whole scheme of things because he occasionally kept an eye on the state budget.

So of course somebody’s trying to make it more expensive — and not only that, that somebody is a group of environmentalists looking to shut down nearly 10 percent of the state’s energy production. And not only that, that energy comes from one of the cleanest, most reliable sources of energy we have.

Welcome to California, as they say.

According to a Wednesday report from The Associated Press, an environmentalist group called Friends of the Earth is suing the U.S. Department of Energy over its decision to award funds to keep California’s last remaining nuclear power plant, Diablo Canyon, open.

The DOE awarded $1 billion to keep the plant open past its planned 2025 closure date after Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom said shuttering Diablo Canyon, which provides 9 percent of the state’s power, would leave California vulnerable to blackouts, according to regional conservative outlet The Center Square.

“As we experienced during the record heat wave last September, climate change-driven extreme events are causing unprecedented stress on our power grid — the Diablo Canyon Power Plant is important to support energy reliability as we accelerate progress towards achieving our clean energy and climate goals,” Newsom said in a 2023 statement.

In 2022, Newsom signed a bill to allocate $1.4 billion in loans to keep Diablo Canyon, located in San Luis Obispo, to extend its service life to 2030.

“Climate change is causing unprecedented stress on California’s energy system and I appreciate the Legislature’s action to maintain energy reliability as the state accelerates the transition to clean energy,” Newsom said at the time.

The move came after the state announced earlier in the year that it would ban sales of gas-powered cars by 2035; just days afterwards the California Independent System Operator, the non-profit organization which manages most of California’s energy grid, put the Golden State on notice that the stress charging electric vehicles would put on the grid would simply be too much to close a source of reliable, carbon-free energy generation.

CISO pleaded with EV owners to not charge their cars during “flex alerts” because it was “likely to strain the grid with increased energy demands, especially over the [Labor Day] holiday weekend.”

In January, the Biden administration chipped in $1.1 billion to extend the plant’s service life. So, naturally, the environmentalists sued, because reality doesn’t have to matter when you’re a privileged ideologue.

“The environmental impacts from extending the lifespan of this aging power plant at this point in time have not been adequately addressed or disclosed to the public,” the group’s lawsuit said.

While a safety assessment concluded there weren’t risks to keeping the nearly 40-year-old plant alive, Friends of the Earth called that “grossly deficient.”

“[Pacific Gas & Electric] has long said the twin-domed plant is safe, an assessment endorsed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission,” the AP noted.

So, just to get this straight: A non-carbon-based source of energy generation that provides roughly a tenth of a state’s electricity is going to stay open thanks to government spending. This is in a state where, according to EnergySage, residents already pay an average of $3,060 a year on their electricity bill — 34 percent higher than the national average.

The state is hemorrhaging residents and revenue thanks, in part, to the cost of living — making that 2035 EV mandate more unlikely than ever, especially if there are rolling blackouts due to lack of electricity.

Friends of the Earth should be doing a coordinated group dance at Burning Man to celebrate this development. Instead, they’re suing. Why? Because nuclear is super-duper evil — even if it’s safe and clean.

Enviros may invoke the specter of Chernobyl or Three-Mile Island, but outliers like that have been sorted. The real issue is that they want scarcity. They desperately want us all to do without. That’s why wind, solar and other renewables — despite the fact that they can’t reasonably provide for our energy needs — are the only types of electricity generation these types of radicals will accept. If we could do away with the grid, period, that would be even better!

Americans shouldn’t have to listen to the piffle. Neither should the courts — and one hopes this suit is tossed as soon as feasible.

Brazilian tyrannical Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes and X owner Elon Musk

On Saturday, X Corp was forced by court decisions to block certain popular accounts in Brazil.

X Global Affairs responded with a statement:

We do not know the reasons these blocking orders have been issued.

We do not know which posts are alleged to violate the law.

We are prohibited from saying which court or judge issued the order, or on what grounds.

We are prohibited from saying which accounts are impacted.

We are threatened with daily fines if we fail to comply.

We believe that such orders are not in accordance with the Marco Civil da Internet or the Brazilian Federal Constitution, and we challenge the orders legally where possible.

The people of Brazil, regardless of their political beliefs, are entitled to freedom of speech, due process, and transparency from their own authorities.

X owner Elon Musk responded to Communist Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes: “Why are you doing this Alexandre?”

But he wasn’t finished!
Elon then threatened to publish every illicit request by Moraes and to explain how those requests break Brazilian law.

And then Elon reposted investigative reporter Michael Shellenberger who is in Brazil.

Michael Shellenberger: BRAZIL IS ON THE BRINK

I’m reporting to you from Brazil, where a dramatic series of events are underway.

At 5:52 pm Eastern Time, today, April 6, 2024, X corporation, formerly known as Twitter, announced that a Brazilian court had forced it to “block certain popular accounts in Brazil.”

Then, less than one hour later, the owner of X, @ElonMusk announced that X would defy the court’s order, and lift all restrictions.

“As a result,” said Musk, “we will probably lose all revenue in Brazil and have to shut down our office there. But principles matter more than profit.”

At any moment, Brazil’s Supreme Court could shut off all access to X/Twitter for the people of Brazil.
It is not an exaggeration to say that Brazil is on the brink of dictatorship at the hands of a totalitarian Supreme Court Justice named Alexandre de Moraes.

President Lula da Silva is participating in the push toward totalitarianism. Since taking office, Lula has massively increased government funding of the mainstream news media, most of which are encouraging increased censorship.

What Lula and de Moraes are doing is an outrageous violation of Brazil’s constitution and the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights.

At this moment, Brazil is not yet a dictatorship. It still has elections and the Brazilian people have other means at their disposal to confront authoritarianism.

But the Federal Supreme Court and the Superior Electoral Court are directly interfere in those elections through censorship.

Three days ago I published the Twitter Files for Brazil. They show that Moraes has violated the Brazilian Constitution. Moraes illegally demanded that Twitter reveal private information about Twitter users who used hashtags he considered inappropriate. He demanded access to Twitter’s internal data, violating the platform’s policy. He censored, on his own initiative and without any respect for due process, posts on Twitter by parliamentarians from the Brazilian Congress. And Moraes tried to turn Twitter’s content moderation policies into a weapon against supporters of then-president Jair Bolsonaro.

I say this as an independent and non-partisan journalist. I’m not a fan of either Bolsonaro or Trump. My political views are very moderate. But I know censorship when I see it.

The Twitter Files also revealed that Google, Facebook, Uber, WhatsApp and Instagram betrayed the people of Brazil. If such evidence is proven, the executives of these companies behaved like cowards: they provided the Brazilian government with personal registration data and telephone numbers without a court order and, therefore, violating the law.
When Twitter refused to provide Brazilian authorities with private user information, including direct messages, the government attempted to sue Twitter’s top Brazilian lawyer.

When I lived in Brazil in 1992, I was very left-wing. At the time, Lula and the PT’s slogans were “Without fear of being happy”.

In recent days, I have spoken to dozens of Brazilians, including professors, journalists and respected lawyers. Everyone tells me they are shocked by what is happening. They told me that they are afraid to speak their mind and that the Lula government is complicit in creating this climate of fear.

Brazil belongs to the Brazilians. It is not my country. As such, there are limits to what I am capable of doing.

But I can say things that many Brazilians do not feel safe saying: Alexandre de Moraes is a tyrant. And the only way to deal with tyrants is to confront them. It is up to Brazil’s senators to confront the tyrant. And it is up to the people of Brazil to demand that their senators do so.

Reuters reported:

X Corp, formerly Twitter, has been “forced by court decisions” to block certain popular accounts in Brazil and is prohibited from giving details of the order, the company said on Saturday.

X owner Elon Musk said in a post on the platform, that this order could lead to a total loss of revenue and shut down of the offices in Brazil, promising that he would legally challenge it where possible.

The social medial company said it is unaware why the blocking orders have been issued and is barred from giving details of the impacted accounts, adding that it is threatened with daily fines if it fails to comply.

“This judge has applied massive fines, threatened to arrest our employees and cut off access to X in Brazil,” Musk said when referring to a user’s post on Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes‘ “free speech crackdown.”

Last year, Moraes also ordered an investigation into executives at social messaging platform Telegram and Alphabet’s Google, who were in charge of a campaign criticizing a proposed internet regulation bill.

All over Europe, nations are rebuilding their military forces to respond to an increasingly dangerous and unpredictable world.

The Nordic countries are no exception, with Sweden, Denmark, and Finland all beefing up their capabilities to face what they see as a growing Russian threat.

Now, Norway also joins the trend, with plans to raise its military spending by an accumulated $56 billion through 2036.

The goal is to bolster its defense against Russia and other security challenges, the NATO founder country’s government said.

Reuters reported:

“‘This plan represents a historic boost in defense spending, and involves a significant strengthening of all branches of the armed forces’, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere told a press conference.

The planned annual defense spending in 2036 will, on a comparable, inflation adjusted basis, be around 83% higher than the current level, the finance minister said.”

The war in Ukraine shifted the country’s stance on military spending, triggering a debate on how to guard against eventual aggression by the Russian neighbors.

Norway shares a border with Russia in the Arctic – but historically, it has never been involved in a conflict with them.

“‘We must expect that Norway will live with a more dangerous and unpredictable Russia for many years’, the government said in a paper delivered to parliament on Friday.

‘The relationship with Russia will for a long time to come be demanding, and in many ways defining for Norwegian security and defense policy’, it added.

Thanks to its rainy-day sovereign wealth fund, the world’s largest with assets of 17 trillion crowns, Norway has access to the cash it needs to fund the increased defense spending without cutting down on hospitals or schools, the prime minister said.”

Norway plans to finally ramp up the defense budget to 2% of its gross domestic product, the spending target set by the military alliance.

Politico reported:

“’We need a defense that is fit for purpose in the emerging security environment’, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store said in a speech Friday. ‘As our security environment is deteriorating, we need to spend more on and pay more attention to defense and preparedness’.”

Norway’s deputy defense minister, Anne Marie Aanerud:

“The context is that we see that we need major investments in our forces, and 12 years will allow for a longer planning cycle and more predictability.

[…] It might not sound like something extraordinary, but it’s very, very unusual that a government goes to the opposition parties in parliament and talks to them about how to make a plan before they even have designed the plan [internally]. Usually, you just make the plan and then you hand it over and they work on it. But we have a very good tradition in Norway of coming together when the stakes are high and this is definitely one of those times. We think it’s very, very important that we start building our armed forces back up.”

We will make America great again. Friends, welcome. Pro-life Leader Frank Pavone here, Director of Priests for Life, one of the nation’s largest pro-life groups. Thank you for coming to Praying for America. That’s what we’re going to do here. We have a lot to pray about. We know how to make our country great again. We know how to win elections. We’ve got to work on this harder than ever before. I’m going to give you a little bit of an insight into some of the developments on some of the issues that have some people scared, but we really shouldn’t be afraid at all. We’ve got to take new courage and move forward in this battle. So just a few reflections on some of the the cultural issues involved in this election. I want to go to, as we always do, to the word of God to start our program off tonight. Matthew 10, starting with verse 26. Jesus says, So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed or hidden that will not be made known. What I tell you in the dark, say in the light. And what you hear whispered, proclaim on the rooftops.

Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your father. But even the hairs on your head are all numbered. Fear not then. You are worth more than many sparrows. Everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies me before men, I will also deny before my Father who is in heaven. Let us pray. Lord, we acknowledge tonight that making America great again requires speaking up. Saving our nation and praying for America requires speaking for America and speaking up for the gospel values on which America has been based from its founding. Lord, give us your spirit of courage, the spirit who gives speech to our lips. As we recall his coming at Pentecost, Lord God, we remember that he came as tongues of fire, tongues imparting passionate speech to those men who until then were afraid. Passionate speech that enabled people to hear the good news in their own languages.

Passionate speech that has continued for over 2000 years of the proclamation of the gospel. Bless us, Father, that the praying that we do for America may always translate into speaking for America with the courage and with the confidence that you ask us to have in your word and in your message. We pray through Christ our Lord. Amen. Friends, they’re cowards. Those who are on the wrong side of the social issues in this election, in this nation, are essentially cowards. And I want you I want to understand that and let it inspire you with the confidence that we should have. I’m going to start here by referring to a post that Charlie Kirk put up recently. We just had this ridiculous scenario at Easter time with Biden proclaiming it as the day of transgender visibility. Now, is this not just a confirmation of everything that we’ve been saying that the Democrat Party hates our values and that this election is, as more and more citizens have been saying, clearly just good versus evil. It transcends all other divisions that we have, and therefore it demands a spiritual response.

This is a presidential election year. Far more people come out to vote in a presidential election year. We are redder and redder here in Florida. We’ve been breaking all kinds of records in terms of the numbers of Republicans registered and the margin of advantage that we have over Democrats. And there’s another element in this presidential election year, of course, which is that President Trump is on the ballot, and that will bring out a lot of unlikely Voters. We do a lot of polling based on likely voters. You got to look at the unlikely voters. He brings out a lot of unlikely voters. And by and large, I’m not saying that this is the case 100%. It’s not 100%. But by and large, these people are going to be on the right side of these social and cultural issues. We’ve got a lot of work to do to educate people as to what these things mean. But what do I mean when I say the other side are cowards? Two things. One of them I’ve explained to you before is that, look, they’re bypassing the legislative process. When you put something into the Constitution, you’re not just setting a policy.

You’re saying all the laws going forward from this point on have to be within these boundaries. And if you say you can’t limit or restrict or delay abortion, then no pro-life laws can be introduced to do anything like that. So why would you stifle the debate? Because they’re cowards. They don’t want to have the debate. That’s what we got to see through here. They’re angry that Roe v Wade was reversed because now the issue is actually thrown back to the American people and their lawmakers to debate. The other side doesn’t want to have a debate on this. And listen, you understand well, this is the same thing with the other issues, too. They don’t want to have an honest debate about what’s going on at the border. They don’t even want to look at the border. The Democrats don’t want to go to the border. They don’t want people to see what’s happening at the border. They don’t want to admit what’s happening at the border. Understand, they’re cowards about that. They’re cowards about all these other issues, and they are the same way on abortion. Don’t think that, Oh, they can’t win by talking about the border, so they’ll win by talking about abortion.

No, no, no, no, no, Just as cowardly about that. They put on a bravada. Oh, yeah, let’s talk about… Let’s bring the abortion issue front and center because we can win on it. Except that they don’t talk about abortion. The strategy, the cowardness is the same, and their modus operandi is the same. It’s just a little twist of difference is that they make a pretense of talking about abortion, but they don’t talk about it. They don’t talk about it. Reproductive rights, reproductive freedom. You look at the speeches. They’re doing this abortion tour. Kamala Harris is going around, Oh, Reproductive Freedom Tour. Given all these speeches, she visited an abortion facility. Biden gives his speeches about reproductive freedom. He mentions it in the State of the Union, mentions that. What is the killing of these babies? He didn’t express it in those terms. Before he mentions the overriding problem of the border, immigration, crime, etc. Their priorities are all screwed up. But they don’t talk about what abortion is. And that’s how we make this a winning issue for us. It’s like, you guys want to describe what you defend? They never describe what they defend.

They’re cowards about it. That’s our strength. That’s their weakness. Women don’t get abortions because of freedom of choice. They get them because they feel they have no freedom and no choice. You want to talk about abortion? Let’s talk about how to help these women choose life. We’re the ones who are serving them. We have four times as many pregnancy centers as the other side has abortion clinics. We’re the ones that are helping these people. And most Americans agree that it’s a good thing when a mother has her baby instead of kills her baby. We’ve got the people with us on that, brothers and sisters. And when a politician comes forward, when a candidate comes forward and says, Look, I’m pro-life, and I want to help moms say yes to the life of their babies. I want to help them. Yes, I admit, of some exceptions, President Trump has been saying that. All the pro-life presidents have said that, and just about every pro-life candidate. That doesn’t mean that they’re saying it’s morally acceptable. They’re saying, I can’t make progress in the political arena without taking account of where the people actually are at, because that’s how politics and public policy making work.

“Fat is fine” is the new mantra of those who want fat people to be accepted in spite of how they look and despite health problems associated with obesity. “Body positivity” is defined as “a movement where people whose bodies may not be seen as acceptable by society feel good about themselves and their looks.” The body positive movement, along with a related “anti-diet” movement and “health at every size,” are normalizing fat, which is discouraging people from losing weight or getting fit. The New York Times decried social media, such as Instagram, where influencers are pushing the notion that boys should be muscular or girls should be slim.

Obesity in the US has reached epidemic proportions, affecting 34% of adults and 15-20% of children, according to data from the National Institute of Health (NIH). Additionally, 17% of children and 68% of adults qualify as overweight, marking the first step toward obesity.

America leads the world not only in terms of obesity rates but also in athletic people, fat foods, and diet foods. So, food manufacturers, weight loss companies, and fitness equipment manufacturers can make money whether people lose weight or not. The food companies can even make people fat and then sell them the cure.

WebMD said, “People who are overweight can be considered healthy if their waist size is less than 35 inches for women or 40 inches for men, and if they do not have two or more of the following conditions: High blood pressure, high blood sugar, and high cholesterol.” It goes on to recommend that overweight people not gain additional weight and that they should “lose a few pounds.” However, a 40-inch waist for a man would suggest that he needs to lose a lot more than a few pounds.

Even the standards of research are being changed. WebMD stated, “Obesity and its related diseases claim many lives each year. The annual figure was initially estimated at 400,000, but was recently revised to 112,000, according to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.” It seems a bit odd that established research needed such a broad adjustment. Additionally, if roughly 51% of the population is obese, then there are over 173 million obese people in America. If only 112,000 of them die of obesity, it doesn’t seem like as much of a threat. And this is consistent with findings of a study cited by WebMD: “One thing that came as a huge surprise was that the study found no increased risk of death for overweight people.”

At the same time that articles are telling people that they can be fat and healthy, and WebMD claims that fat people do not run a higher risk of death, the University of Chicago Medicine reports that “Thirteen types of cancer and 200 other health conditions are related to obesity.”

It seems counterintuitive that being fat is healthy, and it is a bit suspicious that the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United States NIH both declared obesity an epidemic, but WebMD and other sources are claiming that there is little or no connection between fat and poor health. The recent rise of “wokeism” has also infiltrated the obesity issue, using the term “fat shaming.” According to The Washington Post, doctors can be guilty of fat shaming, and “fatphobia persists in medicine.”

This bizarre movement of not being able to say things that are true but offensive is at such an extreme that a morbidly obese fashion model named Tess Holliday, who weighs 260 pounds and wears a size 22, told the media that she identifies as anorexic. The news story was edited on YouTube because the word “anorexic” cannot pass the censors. Now, we aren’t even allowed to say the names of health problems or identify them as health problems.

A quick Google search reveals any number of articles with titles like “There’s No Such Thing as ‘Junk Food‘” and “Why There’s No Such Thing as ‘Good’ or ‘Bad’ Foods.” There have been allegations that fast food companies have been funding researchers and influencers to promote the anti-diet and body-positive image.

It is well-documented that fifty years ago, sugar companies paid researchers to promote the notion that dietary fat, not sugar, was the cause of obesity and ill health. More recently, The Washington Post reported that General Mills, the company which makes Cocoa Puffs and Lucky Charms cereals, has been pushing the anti-diet movement. The company sponsored a campaign citing anti-diet research and condemning “food shaming.” They offered giveaways and sponsorship to registered dietitians who tagged their cereal endorsements with the hashtag #DerailTheShame. General Mills went so far as to pay lobbyists to influence federal policies to keep health information off food labels.

The profit incentive of fast-food companies, combined with the rejection of reality often associated with the “Woke” movement and the notion that no one should ever be held accountable for their actions, is contributing to the demise of an entire generation by encouraging them to be overweight.

Often, analogies are made between smoking and obesity. The cigarette companies tried to push scientific studies that claimed cigarettes did not cause cancer. Fortunately, the government was not convinced and launched anti-smoking campaigns, stressing the health threat of smoking, eventually leading to a reduction in the percentage of adults who smoked. In 1965, 42% of adults smoked. In 2021, it was only 11.5%.

By pushing a narrative that fat is healthy, the exact opposite is going to happen. The percentage of obese Americans will increase. Fortunately, the fast food companies can fund new research, adjusting the statistics to reduce the number of deaths.

On Sunday, the Israeli military said it has reduced its ground troops in the southern Gaza Strip following the conclusion of its monthslong operation in the city of Khan Younis.

In the statement, the IDF said it was pulling its 98th commando division “to recuperate and prepare for future operations.”

NBC News reports, “The Nahal brigade and the 162nd division remain in Gaza, which the IDF describes as ‘a significant force’ that will continue to ‘operate in the Gaza Strip, and will preserve the IDF’s freedom of action and its ability to conduct precise intelligence based operations.’”

The Nahal Brigade is focues on securing the “Netzarim Corridor,” which crosses Gaza from the Be’eri area in southern Israel to the Strip’s coast.

The Times of Israel reports:

The corridor enables the IDF to carry out raids in northern and central Gaza, prevents Palestinians from returning to the northern part of the Strip, and allows humanitarian organizations to deliver aid directly to northern Gaza.

Hours after the withdrawal, five rockets were fired from the Khan Younis area at communities near the Gaza border.

According to the IDF, some of the rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system. There were no reports of injuries or damage.

Chanel Rion: The Department of Injustice is playing cleanup for the Biden family of perverts, and you are paying for it. Case in point, on April 3, 2024, the DOJ asked a Southern district of New York, Judge, to sentence a single mother of two, Aimee Harris, to 10 months in prison for having found first daughter, Ashley Biden’s diary, in a Florida halfway house.

Immediately after this announcement, I noticed something strange. The news media, dutifully parroted the DOJ’s exact language from their press release, describing the situation and labeling the woman who found the diary as the Diary Thief, describing it as a “diary thief”, referring to it as “a stolen diary.”

To be clear, this is not a story about some perverted diary of another drug addict Biden family member. This is a much bigger and more disturbing trend.

The DOJ and the Southern District of New York have this habit of it, of going after the people who expose the crimes, not the people who commit them. When this story first broke in 2020, Aimee Harris found the diary in what was described as a halfway house. Ashley Biden was in rehab in Palm Beach, Florida, and stayed at this house before moving to Philadelphia in 2020.

Aimee Harris, also out of rehab, moved in a few weeks later and found Ashley Biden’s diary stashed between a mattress. The diary included Ashley Biden’s explains explosive claims of taking showers with her dad, Joe. Ashley Biden would, like her half brother Hunter, suffer with drug and sex addictions from her early and inappropriate familial relations. The diary was so disgusting, we hoped it was fake. We wouldn’t be so lucky. Aimee Harris sold this diary to the investigative team at Project Veritas. Ashley herself confirmed it was her diary.

Reporter: “There’s a diary here. It starts in January. It says, January at the end of a New York month, I’m sitting on a bed at the I building.”

Ashley Biden: “Yeah. So if you could just give everything that you have to Eric, that would be really great.

Reporter: “I don’t want to give this to the wrong person. I mean, I want to make sure…”

Ashley Biden: “At this point, and I don’t mean to… I don’t want to have to get Secret Service involved in this, right? Because it’s a whole process. But I am Ashley Biden. It is my stuff.”

Project Veritas never published the full diary. And while even The New York Times had to admit the diary was real, but they failed to mention its deeply disturbing contents. They did, however, confirm the FBI was on the case. The Daily Mail next reported that the FBI wasn’t investigating Aimee Harris for theft at all. There was nothing illegal about finding the diary in a halfway house where Ashley left it. Nor did the the FBI say, Amy stole the diary. Rather, the FBI was investigating Aimee Harris for selling the diary to the media.

We find out later, Ashley Biden’s lawyer called for the Southern District of New York to get involved. That same day, the Southern district of New York opened an investigation into the journalists at Project Veritas.

Pre-dawn FBI raids on journalists followed. No Project Veritas journalist was charged with a crime. But all their devices were seized.

The SDNY is the Biden’s personal Gestapo. They’re not even hiding it anymore.

So now the DOJ wants you to think that Amy burgled a diary out of Ashley Biden’s night stand. The reality is, Amy found Ashley Biden’s diary in a halfway house, abandoned, like Hunter’s laptop. That’s not theft.

So the DOJ had a PR problem. Either they needed to admit that Joe Biden was a pedophile or the diary wasn’t Ashley’s. The DOJ did neither. No one at the DOJ or in the media, for that matter, are curious about the claims made in the journal. But the woman who exposed all of this, she goes to jail, and you pay for it.

The diary confirms three things:

** Joe Biden is a pedophile who produces drug addicts for children.
** The DOJ will stretch the truth like taffy to protect the Biden name, and
** The DOJ is willing to throw anyone under the bus who exposes crimes against their dirty China doll politicians.

This Ashley Biden diary story is yet another fine example of how the Southern District of New York and the DOJ are operating as the private legal defense firm of the Biden family. Why is the DOJ protecting the Bidons at our expense?
