Denver’s Democrat mayor, Mike Johnston, has cut funding to the city’s police department by $8 million in order to take care of people who entered the country illegally.

This is not the first time Johnston has done this. He was already making cuts to city services back in February for the same reason.

So the influx of illegal aliens makes the city less safe and then the mayor cuts funding to the police making the city even less safe.

What could possibly go wrong?

A Democrat-controlled city announced $45 million in funding for programs to help deal with the skyrocketing number of migrant arrivals it is facing, resulting in over $8 million in budget cuts for the police department.

Denver Mayor Mike Johnston announced last week a package of $45.9 million to fully fund programs for “newcomers” for 2024 and avoid worst-case scenarios projected by the city. That’s in addition to $44 million in spending already secured for the program through previous budget moves.

Spending on migrants in the city skyrocketed last year from $2 million a month in August to $15 million in December. In January, migrant numbers peaked at around 5,000 in shelters but have since dropped to around 1,000, according to official figures.

“After more than a year of facing this crisis together, Denver finally has a sustainable plan for treating our newcomers with dignity while avoiding the worst cuts to city services,” Johnston said.

The mayor’s office says it will avoid layoffs or furloughs of employees, but there will still be cuts to find the extra $45.9 million in funding. The mayor’s office will see its budget cut by nearly 10%.

Taxpayers in Denver should be outraged.

Now, I wake up every morning in a panic that our last best hope of ending the monopoly of power on the Left rests on the imperfect shoulders of Donald Trump.

So I guess that finally makes me a Trump supporter.

It was a long, slow slide that started with simply humanizing Trump and the MAGA movement and believe me, just that alone upset my friends and family. They’re evil, they believe, because that’s what the media tells them every second of every day…

I spent a lot of time saying, “I’m not a Trump supporter, but…” I said it so much I began to feel like a coward for saying it. Trump is no better or worse than any politician in America. But we’ve never lived through an entire oligopoly scaring people against a former and half the country.

John Legend claimed that Donald Trump is ‘benefiting’ from the two-tiered justice system, during an interview with former Joe Biden spokeswoman Jen Psaki on her propaganda MSNBC show.

This is a glimpse into the deranged mind of a TDS afflicted liberal celebrity.

Legend justifies this by noting that Trump has access to lawyers who are delaying trials. He fails to note that the trials are all completely political and are being brought against Trump just because he is Trump.

Legend, a critic of Trump, argued the former president is part of a two-tiered justice system but that it is one from which he is benefiting.

“He is getting way more concessions than the average criminal defendant would get,” Legend said in an upcoming interview with MSNBC’s Jen Psaki. “He’s getting delays, he’s got access to all kinds of lawyers that are filing this and filing that, delaying every trial, and most people don’t have access to that kind of lawyering, don’t have access to the kind of concessions that the justice system will provide to you if you can afford it.”

On Tuesday, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) obliterated far-left Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm over lying about owning individual stocks and proclaimed her the face of “institutionalized corruption” at the department.

As the New York Post notes, Granholm last year admitted to delivering false testimony to the panel last April by claiming she didn’t own any individual stock.

Granholm, the former Democratic governor of Michigan, laughably claimed during the hearing she made a “mistake” and had no clue she owned several stocks when she took over as Energy Secretary. In other words, she said she did not know her own stock portfolio.

Granholm then claimed she informed the committee as soon as she realized her testimony was false. But Hawley was having none of her nonsense. He introduced a board with a timeline showing Granholm quietly sold her individual stocks and then waited nearly a month before writing to the committee.

Hawley continued to pepper her with questions that left her flustered and stammering, including one about stocks in at least six companies that she offloaded in May 2023. He also pounded her questions regarding the foreign billionaires funding the Energy Department conferences and whether she was actually running the department. This just made her more flustered and angry.

As one will see, the destruction was so through that not even Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) could save Granholm.

Hawley: When you were here last, I talked with you about the fact that more than 130 officials in the Energy Department reported more than 2,700 trades of shares, bonds, and options, and companies that ethics officers said were directly related to the agency’s work. This is institutionalized corruption, and I asked you point blank if you own any individual stock, and you told me no.

It turns out that was false. You owned multiple individual stocks, and you neglected to report them to this committee for months afterward. Why did you mislead this committee?

Granholm: I believed that I had sold all individual stocks, and I was incorrect, so I came back…

Hawley: You just don’t know your portfolio?

Granholm: Um, pretty much.

Hawley: It’s a big one I guess, huh?

Granholm (chuckling nervously) No, it’s extremely small, um…

Hawley: Apparently not, for someone manages it for you?

Granholm: So I came back as soon as I found out that, in fact, I had not sold all individuals…

Hawley: That’s not true either. Let’s just look at the timeline. You testified you didn’t own any individual stocks, you didn’t sell the stocks for another month, and after you sold the stocks, you waited another month before you informed this committee.

Why did you mislead us, and what were you hiding?

Granholm: I did not hide it because I brought it forth to the committee when I realized that we had made a mistake…

Hawley: Really? What explains the delay? Why did you wait for a full month to explain your actions to this committee?

Granholm (hesitates a bit): Uh, that’s less than a month and I sent a letter explaining what had happened because I owned a Ford stock that was…

Hawley: You misled this committee. What were the stocks that you owned?

Granholm: It was a Ford stock that my husband had owned since he was very young, and uh, I was just not aware of it.

Hawley: And what were the others? You sold six stocks what were the other five?

Granholm (stammering): Uh, I sold, uh, non-conflicting stocks.

Hawley: What were they?

Granholm (hesitates and stammers again): I don’t, I don’t honestly (pauses briefly). I don’t even know….I do know the Ford one because that was a conflict that’s why I ran…

Hawley: You’re here before this committee a year later after actively misleading us after denying and delaying, and now you won’t tell us?

You sat on the board of directors at Protera. You made millions. And then you promoted Protera stock and Protera products as Energy Secretary. Was that one of the stocks that you sold?

Granholm (flustered): No! No!

Hawley: Really? You are presiding over institutionalized corruption in your energy department. You have violated the Stock Act nine separate times. You have been referred by the Inspector General for violations of the Hatch Act.

It is institutionalized corruption that you are now the face of! I just want to know who really runs the Energy Department. Is it you, or is it the mega-corporations whose stock that you own that you’re making profits?

Granholm (flustered): Oh my goodness!

Hawley: Or maybe it’s the foreign billionaires who fund your conferences. Do you know the names of the foreign billionaires who fund the conferences you go to since you don’t know the stocks? Would you happen to know the names of the foreign billionaires?

Granholm (angry): I don’t know what you’re talking about!

Hawley: You don’t know the stocks, you don’t know the billionaires, you take no responsibility. Meanwhile, executives in your Energy Department are trading stocks in companies that they have direct oversight over.

Hawley: Madam Secretary, all I have to say is this record is just deplorable. It is outrageous that hundreds of officers in the Energy Department are trading shares. It is outrageous that you misled us…This has got to change, and frankly, you should go.

Scores of “Free Palestine” protesters across the United States took to the streets Monday to block major airports, highways, and bridges. Those who are arrested will receive bail money and legal support from a left-wing dark money behemoth funded by George Soros, an online fundraising page shows.

The protests, which took place in dozens of U.S. cities including San Francisco, Chicago, New York City, and Philadelphia, were organized by A15 Action, a newly formed group that worked to “coordinate a multi-city economic blockade on April 15 in solidarity with Palestine.” The group’s website directs users to a “bail and legal defense fund” hosted through ActBlue, the Democratic Party’s online fundraising juggernaut.

Those who donate to the fund, the ActBlue page says, are sending money to the Community Justice Exchange, which provides “money bail, court fees and fines” and other legal services to “community-based organizations … that contest the current operation and function of the criminal legal and immigration detention systems.” The exchange is a project of the Tides Center, a left-wing dark money network funded by Soros and other liberal billionaires.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the least popular German leader in many decades, has just made his longest bilateral foreign visit since he came to power, to China.

The Chinese did their usual humbling of an adversarial Foreign Leader by sending the deputy mayor of Chongqing – not even the mayor himself – to meet him, in a clear sign of contempt.

Scholz visit had a mixture of economic pragmatism with the old and frankly tired Ukrainian lobby.

Scholz was accompanied on his trip by senior German executives, including from Mercedes-Benz and BMW, in a demonstration of the importance that the Chinese market holds to Europe’s largest economy.

But while he lobbied for better market access for German firms in China, the talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping contained the inevitable call for the Chinese to exert pressure on Russia to withdraw its forces from Ukraine.

The three-day tour of China is the first visit since Berlin agreed a ‘de-risking’ China strategy, outlining the need to reduce dependencies on Chinese goods.

“Scholz, who met for more than three hours with Xi, before later seeing Premier Li Qiang, said he had pressed the case for China to guarantee German firms equal market access, the protection of intellectual property and a reliable legal system.

‘I expressed my concern … that unilateral economic policy decisions in China are creating major structural difficulties for companies in Germany and Europe’, he said, noting he hoped this would quickly lead to practical solutions.”

On the thorny issue of the EU anti-subsidy investigations against China, Scholz said the bloc should not act out of protectionist self-interest but competition should be fair.

“Xi showed little willingness to make concessions, saying Chinese green tech exports have “not only enriched global supply and alleviated inflationary pressure, but also contributed greatly to the response to climate change”.

‘(Germany and China) should be vigilant against rising protectionism’, Xi said.”

Xi believes China and Germany have ‘huge potential’ for cooperation both in manufacturing and emerging fields sych as ‘green transformation’ and digital artificial intelligence.

China has also – according to the Chancellor – lifted restrictions on imports of beef and apples from Germany, Scholz said.

“Regarding Russia’s two-year-old full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Scholz said he asked Xi ‘to exert pressure on Russia so that (President Vladimir) Putin finally calls off his insane campaign, withdraws his troops and ends this terrible war’.”

Xi dismissed the peace summit in Switzerland requested by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and scheduled for June – that Russia has made clear it will not attend.

Scholz also said he had discussed at length with Xi the supply of dual-use goods to Russia.

Some other outlets were more transparent about the tense aspect of the meeting between the leaders, with Politico saying that Scholz ‘got a slap’ from Xi Jinping.

Politico reported:

“Despite the state media’s portrayal of a friendly setting — featuring tea and a walk with the Chinese president — Beijing’s grievances over Europe’s looming war on green tech were obvious during his meeting with the leader of the largest EU economy. 

[…] He told Scholz, who was in China for a four-day visit, that “the two sides should beware of the rise of protectionism,” and hinted that Berlin should not go down the path of de-risking, as there’s no risk whatsoever in the bilateral ties. 

Stressing that Beijing ‘is not a security threat’, Xi said Chinese-German cooperation should not be construed as a risk.

‘Be it traditional fields such as machine manufacturing and automobiles, or new areas like green transition, digitalization or Artificial Intelligence, the two countries have huge potential for win-win cooperation yet to be explored’, Xi said, according to state media Xinhua.”

A pro-abortion extremist has been sentenced to 7.5 years in prison for firebombing the Wisconsin Family Action pro-life clinic on Mother’s Day in 2022.

Biochemist Hridindu Sankar Roychowdhury, 29, was caught by police using DNA from a half-eaten burrito that they left at the scene of the crime.

Roychowdhury had thrown two Molotov cocktails through a window he broke, set a bookcase on fire, and spraypainted “If abortions aren’t safe then you aren’t either” on the front of the building.

The arsonist was facing up to 20 years in prison but has accepted a plea agreement to reduce his sentence.

Wisconsin Family Action president emeritus Julaine Appling spoke at the sentencing hearing, saying, “May 8, 2022, is forever emblazoned on my mind. It was a very visual reminder that people who disagree with us can and will use violence to try to silence us.”

Appling had asked the court to sentence the arsonist to 15 years in prison.

“We recommended the defendant receive 15 years imprisonment,” Appling continued. “We based that on justice—on the punishment fitting the crime, not on retribution or vengeance. This was a serious, premeditated crime that was the first of nearly 100 attacks on prolife organizations across the country. In light of this, we are disappointed in the judge’s decision regarding a crime the judge called ‘terrorism’ multiple times. The US Attorney’s office had also recommended 12-15 years imprisonment. A civil society does not exist if violence is the default reaction to disagreeing with people.”

President Christine File added, “We are disappointed. The court missed an opportunity to strengthen the protection of constitutional rights like free speech and free exercise, rights that have themselves been under assault in recent years. The defendant’s act of domestic terrorism to threaten our people, our families and friends, our neighbors, and our greater pro-life community is unconscionable. Ultimately, the defendant—and others who attacked pro-life groups they disagree with—attacked our civil society and the constitutional rights foundational to it.”

“It is notable that nearly 60 people filled the courtroom to support this person who committed a violent, unprovoked, and hate-filled crime. Will the society-of-tomorrow support terrorism intended to silence people with whom we disagree? But perhaps most concerning, in the two years since the attack the defendant did not at any point express remorse to the people he targeted and harmed—until the judge asked him. We would’ve expected the court to have weighed this callousness towards us more significantly. Given the severity of his crime and the charges he pled guilty to, the sentence lacks proportionality. However, as we’ve said since the day of the attack, no act or threat of violence or terrorism will deter us from our mission—being a voice for the voiceless.”

Investigators found the DNA of two other people at the crime scene, but they have not yet been identified.

Roychowdhury was apprehended at Boston International Airport in March of this year. He had a one-way ticket to leave for Guatemala when he was arrested.

Orange County, California – A Newport Coast homeowner opened fire on armed home invaders early Tuesday morning prompting a huge police response.

Newport Beach Police received a 911 call from a Newport Coast resident at approximately 4:45 am on Tuesday regarding a home invasion in an exclusive neighborhood in Pelican Heights.

Two women, one man, and one juvenile were inside the home at the time of the invasion. They were not injured.

Someone from inside of the multimillion-dollar home shot one of the two home invasion suspects. Police found one suspect lying in the street with a handgun suffering from gunshot wounds.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department SWAT team was also on the scene.

A second suspect was located in the bushes nearby with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Police said he is deceased.

According to police, the home invasion was not random. The homeowner and the home invasion suspects knew each other. No further details about their connection were released to the public.

Newport Beach police repeatedly stressed that it was a targeted home invasion and that there was no threat to the community.

“We know that there’s a relationship between the suspects, the two suspects, and the victims, the residents,” said Newport Beach PD Sgt. Steve Oberon.

“Most of these communities, especially up at Pelican Heights – these are gated communities with guards patrolling this area 24 hours a day and police stress that these suspects had a connection to the homeowner – to the people inside the home and that’s how most likely how they were able to get in,” Fox 11 reporter Gigi Graciette reported.

Newport Beach Mayor Will O’Neill praised the homeowner for protecting his property and family.

“I can tell you right now if you come into Newport Beach to commit a crime, we will defend ourselves, and today is an example of that,” Mayor Will O’Neill said.

Police said Tuesday morning’s invasion was not connected to South American gangs and theft rings that have targeted homes in Orange County.

51-year-old Jose Alba stabbed his attacker several times in self-defense and now he’s at Rikers Island jail facing a murder charge.

Alba fatally stabbed Austin Simon, 35, a career criminal who violently attacked him behind the counter last Friday night.

According to reports, Austin Simon’s girlfriend got into an argument with Alba after her EBT card was declined when she tried to purchase a bag of chips.

The disgruntled woman then left the bodega, ran home and returned with her boyfriend – and that’s when the confrontation escalated.

That’s when Simon attacked Alba and the bodega employee stabbed him to death.

In July 2022, crooked DA Alvin Bragg charged  Jose Alba with murder when he clearly acted in self-defense during an attack by a violent thug on his business.

Jose Alba was thrown into Rikers Island jail for nearly a week after he stabbed his attacker several times in self-defense.

Bragg was later dropped the charges due to community outrage.

Trump will visit the bodega today.

Donald Trump plans to visit New York’s Harlem neighborhood Tuesday after spending his second day in a lower Manhattan courtroom as a criminal defendant.

Trump was expected to stop by Sanaa Convenient Store, a tiny bodega that sells chips, sodas and other snacks. Trump aides said the former president and current Republican nominee chose the store because it has been the site of a violent attack on an employee. He will also highlight consumer inflation under President Joe Biden, aides said.

The visit would be Trump’s first campaign appearance since his criminal hush money trial began, making the presumptive GOP nominee the first former president in U.S. history to stand criminal trial.

Trump will be confined to the courtroom on most days, dramatically limiting his movements.

A 45-year-old substitute teacher and the wife of a high-ranking Defense Department official has been arrested for having sex with a minor student in the backseat of a car.

Local law enforcement responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle parked on an isolated road.

Upon arrival, they discovered Erin Ward and a 17-year-old student from Burke High School, both undressed, in the backseat of a Honda sedan.

The panicked boy attempted to escape by driving away, but after crashing the vehicle several blocks away, he fled the scene on foot, dressed only in his underwear, t-shirt, and socks. He was later found hiding in a yard.

Both Ward and the minor were taken to the hospital to treat minor injuries sustained from the accident. During the investigation, Ward, who possessed an Omaha Public Schools ID, admitted to engaging in sexual relations with the student. She has been working as a substitute teacher at various schools, including the very institution the minor attends.

The vehicle in question has been identified as belonging to Ward’s husband, William Douglas ‘Doug’ Ward, a Deputy Director and Senior Advisor at the United States Strategic Command.

According to The New York Post, Doug Ward is a distinguished alumnus of Harvard Extension School and has been a dedicated member of the Strategic Command. This command plays a crucial role in identifying and preventing attacks against the United States and its allies.

The couple, who have three teenage children, one of whom is the same age as the involved student, reside in Gretna.

Since the teenager was over Nebraska’s age of consent, which is 16, the teacher avoided charges of statutory rape. However, she was still charged with a felony for sexual abuse by a school employee.

Erin Ward, 45, was visibly dazed and disheveled in a mugshot released by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office three days after her arrest.

She appeared in Douglas County Court on Tuesday, clad in an orange jumpsuit, to face one count of felony sexual abuse by a school employee.

‘Ma’am, you are charged with a Class IIA felony. That is punishable by up to 20 years in jail, up to a $10,000 fine, or both. Do you understand the possible consequences here?’ a judge asked in a clip posted by KETV.

Ward said ‘yes’ before the judge advised that she may have to enroll in the state sex offender registry if convicted.

Ward appeared alongside her attorney, Jerry Hug, for the brief hearing. She is due back in court in May.
