Kentucky Senator Rand Paul did not hold back in his criticisms of Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, accusing him of governing the country like a Democrat since assuming the role last year.

Paul made the comments in an interview with Maria Bartiromo, taking particular aim at Johnson’s willingness to support the passage of a $1.5 trillion spending bill.

“As I see it now, I’m not so sure there’s a difference between Mike Johnson being in charge and Democrats being in charge,” Paul explained. “The deficit this year will be 1.5 to 2 trillion dollars, and that’s Mike Johnson’s bill. He put it forward, he supported it with a minority of Republicans, with a majority of Democrats. This is not the using the power of the purse, this is abdicating the power of the purse.”

Paul also slammed Johnson for his willingness to reauthorize the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) without a provision requiring warrants in order to spy on U.S. citizens.

He explained:

People have to be strong in their convictions. He was seen as a conservative before he came to the Speakership, but now he puts a tweet out the other day saying they whispered to him about 702, how important it is, and now he’s completely changed and lost all his principles on the idea that we shouldn’t spy on Americans without a warrant.

The Democrats got everything they want in the spending and all the hawks got what they want too, this is a problem on the Republican side. We have people who want unlimited military spending, and then the Democrats want unlimited welfare spending and they get both.

But Johnson hasn’t held his ground. He has the power, he has the majority, use the power of the purse, Speaker Johnson. Do something to make us think you are different than a Democrat — but so far I don’t see a difference.

Earlier this week, Paul also revealed that 15 federal agencies were made aware back in 2018 that Wuhan laboratory in China was trying to create a COVID-19 virus that eventually paved the way for global lockdowns, vaccine mandates and rapid expansion of government authority.

German Transport Minister Volker Wissing.

The German governing coalition is an unmitigated train wreck, with a grand total of 17% of citizens polled favoring it.

Led by Olaf Scholz, the most unpopular Chancellor in recent history, the coalition spends most of the time fighting against itself.

Now, Transport Minister Volker Wissing has attracted backlash from within his own ranks after he ‘threatened’ to impose weekend driving bans in the summer.

The move would be meant to conform to the ‘climate protection law,’ and it’s yet another latest dispute within Berlin’s failing coalition over their climate alarmist obsession with ‘decarburizing.’

Reuters reported:

“Greenhouse emissions of Europe’s biggest economy fell to the lowest level in 70 years in 2023, but the transport sector has been consistently failing to meet its climate targets.

According to the current climate protection law, the ministry responsible for underperforming sectors must launch an immediate program to put them back on track.”

Wissing has resisted introducing such a program for the sector. He says incoming amendments to the ‘climate protection law’ allow the sector to ‘miss its CO2 cuts’ target if Germany’s total emissions target is met.

“The transport ministry said reforming the sector is more challenging than other areas of the economy because it affects people’s everyday lives which cannot be changed quickly.”

The ‘traffic light’ government coalition between the Social Democrats (SPD), Greens and pro-business FDP is negotiating the amendments but has not yet reached an agreement.

So Wissing is putting the population against his coalition partners – and he is doing that by actually disclosing out loud what their insane plans are.

Pushing his coalition partners to quickly approve the amendment changes, Wissing said he would have to enforce a ban on driving to meet the current climate law requirements if the amendments do not come into force before mid-July.

“‘A corresponding reduction in traffic performance would only be possible through restrictive measures that are difficult to communicate to the population, such as nationwide and indefinite driving bans on Saturdays and Sundays’, Wissing wrote in a letter dated Thursday to coalition parliamentary group leaders.

The letter was heavily criticized by the coalition partners and environmental groups as irresponsible scaremongering at a time when Germans’ appetite for more green policy has seemed subdued.”

The transport ministry said that the minister’s letter was not a threat, but an opinion that the parliament should ‘live up to its responsibility and agree upon the amendment’.

“‘It is not responsible for a minister to stir up unfounded fears’, Green Party parliamentary group leader Katharina Droege said on Friday, calling on the minister to make sensible suggestions for more climate protection in the sector.”

There is hardly any need for opposition when they are at each other’s throats like that.

The Greens were joined in their criticism by the Social Democrats (SPD) who said that ‘scaremongering through absurd proposals does not help climate protection in the transport sector at all’.

Ten suspected illegal immigrants were arrested in connection with child pornography charges in Chambers County, Texas.

The raid, which uncovered the group from Asia and Guatemala, was conducted at a residence identified as a hub for human smuggling activities, according to Homeland Security and local law enforcement officials.

The Chambers County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) executed a search warrant at 5118 Dripping Springs, located approximately 33 miles east of Downtown Houston, as part of an investigation triggered by a tip-off to the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

The intelligence received by the task force indicated that child pornography was being downloaded at the address.

Upon arrival, deputies were forced to make a forced entry when occupants refused to open the door. Inside, they discovered 10 individuals who are believed to have been in the U.S. illegally.

Homeland Security was called to the scene to assist with the unfolding investigation, and the suspects were subsequently transported to Chambers County Jail for processing by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

“This is an ongoing investigation looking into possible human trafficking and/or human smuggling as well as other possible crimes,” according to CCSO’s Facebook post.

Police confiscated numerous electronic gadgets from the location, but the specifics of what these devices contain have not been verified, according to Fox 26. Additionally, items related to restaurant operations were discovered.

“Those types of downloads are illegal and are heavily monitored,” CCSO Captain Bryan Baker told Fox 26. “We’re just not going to tolerate that in our county.”

White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby was on Fox News Sunday with Shannon Bream early Sunday.

Kirby was defending Biden’s record on Iran despite the fact that they attacked Israel in direct defiance of Biden’s “warning.”

“Why not support something that would have stopped that program or at least contained it in some way so it’s not launching at Israel and we aren’t having to get involved defensively?” Bream asked Kirby.

“Just look at the sanctions we put in place against Iran, look at the resources we put into the region. It’s hard to take a look at what President Biden has done and say that we’ve somehow gone soft on Iran,” Kirby responded.

Kirby continued and inaccurately blamed the Trump administration for Iran’s hostility.

Iran was broke under President Trump and became much wealthier under crooked Joe Biden by unfreezing billions of dollars.

Kirby also insisted that the billions of dollars that were unfrozen were not going to the Iranian regime, and blames President Trump.

“Is it not fair to say that there have been moves by this administration that have opened up cash and other opportunities for them which we know are fungible in ways that are not helping the Iranian people but are benefiting the elites and people there who chant ‘death to America’ and ‘death to Israel?’” Bream asked Kirby.

“You and I have had this fungibility argument before, I obviously take a different issue, take an issue with that characterization,” Kirby continued.

“The additional funds that have been made available to Iran due to sanctions relief program that the Trump administration put in place can only be used for humanitarian goods. It does not go to the regime,” Kirby continued.

“It comports with their language though saying we will use this money in the way we want to use it,” Bream continued.

“They can’t,” Kirby replied.

A dozen of America’s most prominent mainstream media outlets have published an open letter urging Joe Biden and Donald Trump to agree to debate before the 2024 election.

Letter signatories included ABC News, The Associated Press, CBS News, CNN, C-SPAN, Fox News, NBC News, NewsNation, Univision, NPR, PBS NewsHour and USA Today.

The letter calls on the two leading candidates “to publicly commit to participating in general election debates before November’s election.”

The organizations argued that debates have “played a vital role in every presidential election of the past 50 years, dating to 1976.”

“Though it is too early for invitations to be extended to any candidates, it is not too early for candidates who expect to meet the eligibility criteria to publicly state their support for – and their intention to participate in – the Commission’s debates planned for this fall,” the letter continues.

Trump has already vowed to debate Biden “anytime, anywhere anyplace,” but Biden has refused to commit.

Biden told reporters in February, “If I were him, I’d want him to debate me, too. He’s got nothing else to do.”

There is nothing like waiting until the last minute to file taxes.

The IRS office in Houston, Texas closed early on Saturday because a fight broke out in front of the building. Numerous people were lined up to get help with their taxes.

Tempers were out of control as impatient taxpayers were waiting for assistance. The deadline to file is Monday, April 15th.

HOUSTON – The Internal Revenue Service in Houston closed abruptly on Saturday after people say a fight broke out. It happened while taxpayers were trying to get assistance with filing their taxes.

Hundreds of people were lined up at the IRS building hoping to get help with their taxes. Instead, a field assistant from the IRS said they had to shut down early because of a riot that broke out.

Tempers flared outside the Internal Revenue Service’s building as hundreds of people trying to file their taxes and get identity verification were turned away.

“The Internal Revenue Service in Houston closed abruptly this weekend after a fight broke out. It happened during the IRS tax assistance event on Saturday. Now hundreds of people were lined up at the IRS building hoping to get help with their taxes, instead a field assistant from the IRS said they had to shut down early because of a riot that broke out,” Fox 26 reported.

“I see little kids out here, old people with canes,” said a taxpayer.

The event was on a first come first serve basis. They did not set up any appointments for the taxpayers.

“Unfortunately, they did everything as a walk-in, no appointments and that’s really what caused all these problems,” ‘said Henry Castro, another visitor at the IRS center,’” Fox 26 reported.

The IRS has many helpful tips on their website for taxpayers to prevent situations like the one that occurred at their Houston office.

A first-division Italian soccer match was abandoned on Sunday after a 24-year-old player suddenly collapsed with chest pains.

The match, a Serie A game between Roma and Udinese, was called off after defender Evan Ndicka fell to the ground in the 72nd minute and was taken off on a stretcher.

Following his collapse, Roma’s medical staff and emergency services came onto the field, and following discussions with the referee the, the match was abandoned.

In a statement on the X platform following his hospitalization, Roma confirmed he was undergoing tests in hospital.

“The team visited Ndicka in hospital,” the post read. “Evan feels better and is in good spirits. He will remain under observation for tests in hospital.”

President Trump on Sunday blasted the far-left judge overseeing the Stormy Daniels ‘hush money’ trial which is set to begin on Monday.

Recall that Trump’s lawyers asked for a 90-day delay so they can pour over the thousands of pages of discovery, but the judge denied their request.

Trump went off on Judge Merchan for giving his lawyers a short period of time to read through the hundreds of thousands of pages of documents that Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg illegally hid.

“Judge Juan Merchan, perhaps the most highly conflicted Judge in New York State history, only gave us a short period of time to read and study hundreds of thousands of pages of documents that D.A. Alvin Bragg illegally hid, disguised, and held back from us. Of course, and as the Judge knows, we need far more time than that. They could have started this Fake Biden Trial many years ago, not right in the middle of my campaign for President, and time would not be a problem. This is a blatant and unprecedented attack on Crooked Joe Biden’s Political Opponent (who is leading in every poll!), done in close coordination with the White House, that cannot be allowed to go forward!” Trump said in a Truth Social post on Sunday.

President Trump on Friday filed a motion requesting that the judge overseeing the Stormy Daniels ‘hush money’ case be recused because of his daughter’s political work.

The judge’s daughter, Loren Merchan, is a far-left political operative who worked for the Biden-Harris campaign. The media has infantilized 34-year-old Loren Merchan in an effort to attack Trump’s First Amendment-protected speech.

Loren Merchan’s firm, Authentic Campaigns, Inc., has received tens of millions of dollars from Democrats who want to take down Trump.

According to The New York Post, Loren Merchan helped Democrats raise $93 million off of her father’s case.

“In 2019, Ms. Merchan made public statements during a podcast regarding a conversation with Your Honor that reflect bias against President Trump from both speakers in that exchange,” Trump’s lawyers wrote Friday, according to Fox News. “Consistent with that conversation, President Biden and Vice President Harris are long-term clients of Authentic and Ms. Merchan, along with many other politicians and entities who are actively campaigning and advocating against President Trump right now.”

“Authentic’s clients disbursed more than $18 million to the company between the return of the Indictment and the present,” Trump’s attorneys wrote. “It is industry practice that Authentic would receive percentages based on funds raised and recipient engagement, and Ms. Merchan has had an ownership stake and leadership role in the company while this case is pending.”

Alvin Bragg indicted Trump last April on 34 felony counts related to ‘hush payments’ he made to Stormy Daniels.

Trump was accused of paying porn star Stormy Daniels, AKA, Stephanie Clifford, ‘hush payments’ through his then-attorney Michael Cohen in a scheme to silence her and stop the story about their alleged affair from being published in the National Enquirer.

The payments made to Stormy Daniels did NOT come from Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

The payments were made through internal business records – there was no tax deduction taken and there was no obligation to file it with the FEC, according to Trump attorney Joe Tacopina.

Trump pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Trump was hit with a criminal charge for every payment he made to his former lawyer Michael Cohen in connection with the ‘hush payments’ to the two women.

Alvin Bragg didn’t explain what exactly he wanted to convict Trump of in the charging documents.

Bragg told reporters he doesn’t have to tell anyone what the underlying felony is.

He’s just allowed to charge Trump with 34 felonies without explaining what the underlying offense was.

White House National Communications Security Advisor John Kirby was on “This Week” with George Stephanopoulos on Sunday morning.

Kirby avoided answering his question and went off on a tangent.

“The President also called on Iran not to retaliate, but they did anyway, what does that tell you?” Stephanopoulos asked.

“What it tells me is that we can make good on our commitment to defend Israel. It tells me that Israel does have superior military capability, just think about the hardware that Iran threw into the sky and how little damage it caused,” Kirby responded.

Although Kirby accurately described Israel’s advanced capabilities, he gave no response regarding Iran’s defiance of Biden.

Biden has not been supportive of Israel retaliating against Iran for the drone attacks. He told them to “take the win” referring to the drones that were intercepted.

Biden cut his vacation short and headed back to the White House to deal with the attack on Israel.

With public pressure and President Trump calling him out on Truth Social forced crooked Joe Biden to head back to the White House to deal with the situation.

President Trump also blasted Biden for the weakness of his administration which contributed to Iran attacking Israel.

“I want to say God Bless the people of Israel, they are under attack right now, that’s because we show great weakness. This would not happen, the weakness that we’ve shown is unbelievable and it would not have happened if we were in office, you know that, they know that, and everybody knows that,” President Trump said.
