Self-described “Catholic” and “Republican” senate candidate Larry Hogan is advocating for “restoring Roe v. Wade as the law of the land.”

Hogan previously served as the governor of Maryland.

“As governor, I protected the rights of Maryland women to make their own reproductive health decisions. I will do the same in the Senate by restoring Roe v. Wade as the law of the land. No one should come between a woman and her doctor,” Hogan wrote in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

The candidate also linked to an article from the New York Times headlined, “Hogan Backs Codifying Roe, Tacking Left on Abortion Ahead of a Tough Race.”

Hogan told the newspaper that he is “pro-choice.”

The Times reports:

Asked whether he viewed himself as “pro-life” or “pro-choice,” Mr. Hogan said, “Given the definition of what I’m supporting — women’s rights to make their own decision — I would say that’s pro-choice.”

It was a major tack to the left for Mr. Hogan, a Catholic who has long said his personal beliefs about abortion would not interfere with his stance that the issue is settled in state law. The move came as the former governor is heading into a challenging general election campaign in the solidly Democratic state of Maryland whose outcome could determine which party controls the Senate.

The Blaze notes that Hogan does not support former President Donald Trump.

“Hogan, who served as Maryland’s governor from early 2015 through early 2023, has never voted for Donald Trump but wrote in his father Larry Hogan Sr. in 2016 and the late President Ronald Reagan in 2020. He has said that he will not vote for Trump or Biden this year,” the report states.

Hogan has been openly courting Democrat voters instead of those from his own party.

“I am excited to launch Democrats for Hogan and have my good friend and former Democratic State Senator Bobby Zirkin on our team,” Hogan wrote in a post on X. “To my Democratic and Independent friends, you know me and you know my proven track record of reaching across the aisle to find common ground for the common good. You know that I have the courage to put people over politics and to put country over party. I will continue to be the same strong independent leader for Maryland that I always have been.”

Hogan added, “If you are completely fed up with the divisiveness and dysfunction and want a strong, independent leader who will fight to clean up the mess in Washington—then join us.”

Republican Senator Marco Rubio was on NBC’s “Meet the Press” with host Kristin Welker on Sunday to discuss illegal immigration, the 2024 election and abortion.

“If reelected, Donald Trump has said he is willing to build migrant detention camps and deploy the US military to deport the more than 11 million undocumented immigrants in this country. It would be the largest deportation operation in American history. Do you support that plan?” Kristin Welker asked Senator Rubio.

“11 million, that was the number 10 years ago. We are talking upwards of 20, 25, maybe 30 million,” The Florida Senator replied.

“To the question, would you support it?” Welker asked again.

“The answer to your question is yes, we cannot absorb 25, 30 million people who entered this country illegally. They are here illegally. What country on Earth would tolerate that? We don’t know even know who some, most of these people are. They talk about vetting, vetting them with what? They are coming from nations that don’t even have document systems in many cases,” Senator Rubio continued.

“Senator here is what you said about Donald Trump’s mass deportation proposal in 2016, take a look,” Welker said.

“I don’t think it’s reasonable to say you are gonna round up and deport 11 million people,” Senator Rubio had said previously.

“So why have you changed your mind now?” Welker continued.

“Because the issue has completely changed,” Rubio continued.

“This is not immigration, you ask me about immigration. This is mass migration, mass migration, this is an invasion of the country,” Rubio continued.

In just the past 3 years under the Biden regime, an estimated 10 to 12 million illegals have invaded the United States. This is not counting the millions that were here before. Senator Rubio’s claim of 25 to 30 million illegals in the country is realistic.

Rubio also hit back hard after Kristen Welker asked him if he will “accept the election results of 2024 no matter what happens.”

“Have you ever asked a Democrat this question on your show?” Rubio asked Welker as he blasted Democrats for opposing every Republican victory since 2000.

Three Americans were reportedly caught trying to help overthrow the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Government in the capital city of Brazzaville early Sunday morning, an incident that left several individuals dead.

As Reuters reported, the Congo’s military successfully thwarted a coup attempt near the presidential palace, around 4 A.M. Sunday. The incident reportedly involved about 50 individuals.

Another attack took place at the nearby home of Vital Kamerhe, a member of parliament who is in line to become speaker, during the coup attempt according to Kamerhe’s spokesman, Michel Moto Muhima.

Reuters reported that Moto Muhima also revealed two guards and an attacker were killed in that incident.

One of the detained Americans has been identified as a 36-year-old U.S. citizen born in Maryland. His passport has been circulating online.

Congo Military spokesman Sylvain Ekenge told Reuters that Christian Malanga, a Congolese politician based in the United States, was the mastermind behind the coup. Malanga was reportedly killed during the operation after he resisted arrest.

“Malanga was definitively neutralized during the attack on the Palais de la Nation, a certain Aboubacar was neutralized during the attack on the residence of Vital Kamarhe, and the others – around 50 including three American citizens – were arrested and are currently undergoing interrogation by the specialized services of the Armed Forces,” Ekenge said.

Al Jazeera reported Malanga previously appeared in a live-streamed video surrounded by several people in military uniform, warning Congo President Felix Tshisekedi they were coming to take him out.

“Felix, you’re out. We are coming for you,” Malanga said.

The U.S. Ambassador to Congo, Lucy Tamlyn, acknowledged reports of American citizens’ involvement in the failed coup and vowed to help Congo authorities hold those responsible accountable.

“Please be assured that we will cooperate with the DRC authorities to the fullest extent as they investigate these criminal acts and hold accountable any U.S. citizen involved in criminal acts,” she said.

Reuters noted the U.S. embassy earlier issued a security alert warning of “ongoing activity by DRC security elements” and reports of gunfire in the area.

A brawl broke out on the stage of a Tennessee high school graduation after a graduate flashed gang signs and another threw his diploma at him.

The incident occurred at the Hamilton High School graduation on Thursday evening at the Cannon Center in Memphis.

According to a report from the local News Channel 3, “a school security officer saw one of the students walk past another student and begin throwing up gang signs. That is when the student threw a graduation binder at the victim.”

“As the first student was being held back, the victim jumped over three rows of seats and began hitting him. Two other students jumped into the fight,” the report continued. “One of the students involved was pepper sprayed during the incident. There were no other visible injuries.”

The students involved were released to their parents after being given Juvenile Summons or Misdemeanor Citations.

“We are not going to stop our graduation. We are going to continue because this is the Wildcat way,” a school official announced after the brawl was contained.

An officer was injured during the fight.

“He has a big bruise on his left eye, they broke his glasses, the front of his foot looks like it is fractured,” his wife said, according to a report from the New York Post.

The Kansas City Star, a newspaper based in Kansas City, Missouri, ignited a fiery debate with its latest opinion piece, advocating for the Kansas City Chiefs to oust their star kicker, Harrison Butker, in favor of a female kicker.

This radical suggestion follows Butker’s commencement speech at Benedictine College, which has drawn both acclaim and criticism.

During the 2024 commencement ceremony at Benedictine, Butker took the podium with a robust defense of traditional values, emphasizing the dignity of life, the pivotal role of masculinity, and the sanctity of motherhood.

His comments included critiques of Biden’s stance on abortion and gender identity issues, contrasting them sharply with traditional Catholic values.

The editorial by Peter Hamm in the Kansas City Star didn’t just critique Butker’s “outdated” comments; it proposed a radical solution: replacing him with a female kicker.

The piece’s title is “The KC Chiefs should fire Harrison Butker and hire someone who kicks like a girl.”

The piece lists several examples where women have excelled as kickers in college football, drawing on the success stories from Liz Heaston in 1997 to the more recent viral sensation Sarah Fuller, who played for Vanderbilt in 2020.

Hamm wrote:

For poetic justice after Harrison Butker’s Neanderthal outburst — and because the pipeline of talent is real — the Kansas City Chiefs’ next kicker should be a woman.

This is not a joke. It’s not unrealistic. And it would be good for business. Just ask the University of Manitoba how ticket sales were last year.

The Chiefs need to make a strategic call about Butker’s future with the team. If he could agree to shut his mouth, the current story might fade. There are, after all, plenty of athletes with backward cultural views, but they’re tolerated if they can mostly stick to sports cliches in interviews. If they’re superstars, they sometimes can keep yapping and get away with it.

Harrison Butker is not Patrick Mahomes. He’s a special teams player. That gives him less leverage with the team. They could trade him for a solid kicker, or they could make a statement by signing a woman to kick.

Liz Heaston, Ashley Martin, Katie Hnida or Sarah Fuller might take a call. Maya Turner would likely give serious thought to an offer.

For reference, Sarah Fuller made history when she became the first woman to play in a Power 5 college football game. She scored her first career points by successfully kicking two extra points during a game for Vanderbilt University against Tennessee on December 12, 2020.

A 17-year-old rapper in Virginia has fatally shot himself while filming a TikTok video playing with a gun, according to reports.

The teenager uses the name “Rylo Huncho.”

According to a report from Hip Hob Vibe, “Rylo Huncho’s real name has not been disclosed. However, he was known for his energetic performances and promising music career…he was filming content for his TikTok account when the gun discharged. So, this resulted in a fatal injury.”

It remains unclear if the shooting was intentional or an accident.

Before he pulls the trigger, Huncho can be heard saying, “F*ck y’all, n****.”

The report adds:

Family members have since set up a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral expenses and support the grieving family during this challenging time. The page has seen an outpouring of support from fans and the community, reflecting the impact Rylo had on those around him.

The GoFundMe page was set up by a cousin of Rylo Huncho’s. In her description, she says that the cause of death was accidental/suicide. Also, she says the the family is still trying to figure out why. This is how the GoFundMe statement reads.

Rylo Huncho’s untimely death has sparked conversations about the responsibilities of social media platforms and the influence they have on young users. The community continues to rally around the family, sharing memories of Rylo’s passion for music and his bright future.

Over $2,000 has been raised on the GoFundMe fundraiser.

The description reads, “Hello , my aunt recently lost her 17 year old son from a self inflicted gun wound to the head . He was her only son ! She was a single parent but took care of her son the best she could. Suicide/accidental was the cause of his death we are still trying to figure out why . But anything I mean anything can help her at this time of need . He was her only child she was also an only child it was always her and her son . Anything can help ! Please keep my family in your prayers thank you so much.”

The Gateway Pundit has not been able to independently verify the validity of the GoFundMe or any claims made about the teenager.

A report from Biz Pac Review noted, “The brief viral clip raised questions about the fate of the rapper and at least one social media account suggested, ‘according to his family, he went to the hospital and died from injuries. his friend posted the video [because] people were saying the friend shot him. his family was also saying he was depressed but since he is gone, we will never know if it was a major accident or purposely done.’”

Joe Biden Sunday morning delivered the 2024 Morehouse College commencement address in Atlanta, Georgia.

Biden, a lifelong racist who once told blacks they “ain’t black” if they don’t vote for him, was given an honorary doctorate degree from the private historically black men’s liberal arts college.

“Congratulations, Dr. Joseph Biden,” Morehouse President David Thomas said.

Gov. Maura Healey’s administration in Massachusetts placed migrant children and their families in hotels with registered pedophiles and other types of sex offenders, it has now been revealed.

According to a report from The Boston Globe, hundreds of children were placed in hotels or facilities that housed or were staffed by convicted sex offenders.

The Globe reported:

Such findings serve as a harsh reminder of the risks that migrant children face when their parents or handlers smuggle them across the southern border.

The revelations come as Massachussetts drowns under the pressure of the tens of thousands of illegal aliens who have pitched up in the state, many of whom expect taxpayers to foot the bill for their accomodation, hospitality and living expenses.

Earlier this month, Healey approved around $400 million in additional funding to help provide for the illegals, the overwhelming majority crossed the border illegally and have no right to reside in the United States in the first place.
