Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has announced his intention to launch a legal battle against the State of New York, accusing it of an unconstitutional attack on the democratic process through its legal actions against President Donald Trump.

In a bold declaration on X, Bailey wrote, “I will be filing suit against the State of New York for their direct attack on our democratic process through unconstitutional lawfare against President Trump. It’s time to restore the rule of law.”

“We have to fight back against a rogue prosecutor who is trying to take a presidential candidate off the campaign trail. It sabotages Missourians’ right to a free and fair election,” he added.

This announcement comes in response to a series of investigations and legal actions taken against Trump by key figures in New York’s legal system, which Trump has characterized as a “witch hunt.”

These include Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, New York Attorney General Letitia James, and Judges Arthur Engoron and Juan Merchan.

J6er Treniss Evans, through his legal advocacy group Condemned USA, filed a Supreme Court petition earlier this month aimed squarely at halting the controversial New York case and sentencing against President Donald Trump.

Evans’ petition contends that allowing New York to proceed would create inconsistent interpretations of federal law across states, undermining national legal uniformity and fairness. The petition seeks an immediate stay of the trial proceedings in New York, requesting that the Supreme Court intervene to prevent further potential injustice.

Evans also requests a comprehensive review of the trial record, arguing that Trump may be entitled to a writ of habeas corpus — a fundamental safeguard against unlawful and indefinite imprisonment.

Spending on the homeless in the Portland, Oregon area has skyrocketed. Local governments and non-profits spent over a half a billion dollars in 2023 alone and yet the problem persists.

One has to wonder if the city would have been better off to just give the cash directly to the homeless people rather than using it to fund various programs that obviously aren’t working.

Of course, if that happened then all of the people who are making a living by ‘solving’ the problem would have to find new jobs.

Spending on homelessness spikes to a ‘shocking’ amount in Portland metro area

Local governments and nonprofits in the Portland area spent more than half a billion dollars fighting homelessness last year, a 70% increase from the year before, according to a new report.

“The number itself was shocking,” John Tapogna, a senior policy advisor at ECOnorthwest, which crunched the numbers, told KOIN 6 News.

Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties, which make up Oregon’s Portland metro area, spent $531 million on homelessness interventions in fiscal year 2023, according to ECOnorthwest’s analysis.

The huge increase was driven in part by nearly $90 million in federal pandemic relief funds, as well as a regional homeless tax approved by voters in 2020, the report shows…

About 7,500 people in the tri-county area are living in emergency shelters or on the streets. But the report also includes more than 13,000 individuals who have recently exited homelessness and now receive rental support, as well as more than 81,000 people considered to be at risk of homelessness due to low incomes and high housing costs.

This was the latest assault on Clark, the savior of the league, in a WNBA game in front of thousands of fans when the refs looked the other way and her teammates did nothing.

of course, this was not an isolated incident. We are getting used to these attacks on Caitlin Clark.

On Sunday, the anticipated rematch game between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fevers turned ugly when Chicago’s Angel Reese delivered a brutal elbow to the savior of the WNBA, Caitlin Clark, during a layup attempt.

The incident occurred during the third quarter of the match when Clark, showing her usual agility and speed, went in for a layup.

Reese, seemingly aiming to block the shot, swung her elbow with such force that it hit Clark’s head, resulting in the player falling.

The referees intervened, reviewing the video footage before categorizing the foul as flagrant 1. However, this decision has been met with criticism from fans and commentators alike, many of whom believe that the severity of Reese’s action warranted a higher penalty.

A flagrant foul, penalty 1, is when a player makes unnecessary contact with an opponent that could cause injury. This is considered a dangerous play that indicates a disregard for the opponent’s safety or an intent to harm.

According to the NBA:

Referees may use replay whenever they are not reasonably certain whether a foul meets the criteria for a flagrant foul.  Previously, the foul had to be called flagrant on the floor in order to initiate instant replay.

The definition for a flagrant foul is:

Flagrant Foul Penalty 1: Unnecessary contact committed by a player against an opponent
Flagrant Foul Penalty 2: Unnecessary and excessive contact committed by a player against an opponent

When a flagrant foul call is made, referees conduct a review and consider the following:

Whether the foul call be categorized as a flagrant 1 or flagrant 2 (thus ejection) or stay as a common foul or changed to a technical foul
Whether any other players committed unsportsmanlike acts immediately prior to and/or immediately following the foul.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has dropped nearly all charges against students during the recent anti-Israel protests at Columbia University.

The arrests took place as left-wing protesters occupied the building on the Manhattan campus of Columbia University back in April as they voiced their opposition to Israel’s war against Hamas.

Yet to the surprise of absolutely nobody, Bragg has decided to drop nearly all the charges against them.

It was Alvin Bragg’s office that dropped the charges against the criminals who took over Hamilton Hall btw.

NBC reports:

Of the 46people charged with trespassing in connection with the building’s occupation, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office dismissed cases against 31 people largely due to a lack of evidence. Prosecutors told 14 others that their cases would be dropped if they avoid being arrested in the next six months, but those defendants rejected that offer and will be due back in court on July 25.

The prosecutor said it would have been “extremely difficult” to prove the dismissed cases because the district attorney’s office lacks evidence, including surveillance footage from cameras that were covered up. The fact that some of the defendants wore masks also made it difficult to identify their specific actions.

The news confirms merely weeks after Bragg successfully executed the sham conviction of Donald Trump on charges of falsifying business documents at the request of the Democratic Party.

Last week, Bragg confirmed that he would testify before the House Judiciary Committee about his role in Trump’s prosecution, which may result in him finally being held to account for his attempt to subvert America’s democratic process.

MSNBC played audio of President Trump speaking with Variety journalist Ramin Setoodeh about the 2020 election.

MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace claimed there is a never-before-heard audio of Trump admitting he lost the election.

“Today, in a brand new tape, never heard before, we’re hearing that private admission in the ex-president’s own words – on tape. a remarkable slip of the mask…made during one of his half-dozen interviews with writer Ramin Setoodeh,” Nicolle Wallace said.

But the audio tells a completely different story.

Ramin Setoodeh asked Trump about Geraldo Rivera.

President Trump recalled when Geraldo called him up after the 2020 election.

“[Geraldo] is uh- after I lost the election – I won the election but when they said we lost, he called me up three or four times,” Trump said in the newly released audio.

Ramin Setoodeh has interviewed Trump half a dozen times since he left the White House. He has been trashing Trump all week and questioning his cognitive abilities.

Trump’s team responded to Ramin Setoodeh’s attacks.

A top California Democrat was nearly brought to tears last week during a brief emotional breakdown during a committee hearing on state slave reparations. The bill passed anyway.

California’s Leftist Committee Approves Bill for Reparations that Could Cost $800 Billion (VIDEO)

As the Daily Mail reported, Latina California Republican Kate Sanchez spoke to the committee.  Then the Indian-American chair of the Assembly Judiciary Committee, choked up after her comments.

The two politicians were debating Senate Bill 1331, which, as the Mail notes is just one of 14 reparations bills being considered by Democrat lawmakers after a state task force last year called for $1.2 million packages to compensate every descendant of slavery.

Sanchez, a businesswoman from the Los Angeles suburbs, started by emphasizing the astronomical cost of reparations and noting the horrific unfairness of such a scheme.

“The total amount (cost of reparations) could be as much as $800 billion, that is two and a half times the size of our entire state budget,” Sanchez explained. “To pay for that, you’d need a major tax hike, unlike anything this state has ever seen before.”

“The pains of our past should not be paid by the people of today,” she continued.

Sanchez then noted it was particularly unfair to force California residents to pay reparations when the state is majority-minority.

“The majority of our population is Latino and Asian, making up 55% of our population, she said. “Most of them, like me, are first, second, or third generation immigrants who had nothing to do with slavery, discrimination, Jim Crow laws, nothing.”

“It is fundamentally unfair to force these people to pay for this and because of that, I will be opposing today,” she concluded.

WATCH:

Kalra did not take the lecture well at all and had to pause during his response to hold back tears.

“At the end of the day, compensation is necessary,” he replied. “You know, I, uh, understand those of us in the legislature to make those commitments.”

“But no one asked Black families over generations if it was okay to take their wealth..if it was okay to,” he continued before suddenly stopping.

“If it was okay to force their children into generations of poverty,” he said while choking back tears as fellow Democrats applauded him. “We became a superpower based on free labor.

‘We still benefit to this day from what happened to our brothers and sisters in the black community, he elaborated. “I know it’s not going to be easy.”

“It’s not supposed to be easy to actually admit when you’ve caused pain.”

California was a free state during the US Civil War.

Did you know there are Big Tech employees (or former employees) that won’t let their kids use social media?

As technological insiders to how these platforms operate, some have gone as far as to say, “The foundation of what drives this industry is fundamentally against the safety of our children.” It’s not hard to see how social media may not be the best for the developing minds of children. Do we really think deeply about just how dangerous it actually is?

The concern on U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy’s mind is that we don’t give the harms of social media the attention it deserves. This led to his plea for Congress to approve a warning label for social media sites that gives users — parents and children alike — the chance to think twice before flippantly walking out into the electronic universe oblivious and unguarded.

But even with some compelling arguments Murthy laid out in an essay he published this week, many continue to scratch their heads wondering if such an action is worth it or will have any effect.

More pointedly, given that the surgeon general’s request requires congressional action, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins asked on Tuesday’s episode of “Washington Watch”: Is this a move Congress should even consider in the first place?

“Given the growing body of research that has uncovered the intentionally addictive nature of social media platforms,” Perkins said, there’s much to consider. “Obviously, parents should monitor what their children consume online and whether or not they should be online, but could some extra help in the form of a warning be warranted?”

Tim Clinton, president of the American Association of Christian Counselors, joined the discussion, urging first and foremost, “[W]e better do something, because at the end of the day, we’re losing our kids.”

Clinton acknowledged “there are a lot of factors related to” why social media is harmful. But ultimately, “we all know that those phones, those devices that we have in our hands,” are being manipulated through algorithms to target children.

Take a kid who’s already “discouraged, depressed, or getting bullied,” for instance. What happens to them when they turn to social media to numb their pain or distract them from worry? According to Clinton, they just “wind up getting targeted with messages and images and more that only drive them further and further in those kinds of directions.”

Not only do kids get sucked into a wormhole of cheap entertainment that makes existing symptoms worse, but Perkins said “there’s such a thing as instant gratification by the likes that someone gets … [and] the immediate response which actually releases dopamine … a feel-good neurotransmitter.”

As such, the final analysis reveals that a child who needs real interaction, real processing, and real life is simply putting a technological band aid over an emotional wound. There’s a real and oftentimes damaging “physiological effect on the users.”

Clinton took a step back to talk through “two types of real patterns that stand out” in the realm of mental health and addiction research. First, he said, “is substance abuse addiction,” which injects chemicals that “hijack the brain.” Not only is this “highly addictive,” but it’s also often not immediately recognizable.

Second, Clinton explained the concept of behavioral addictions, which include examples of gambling or viewing pornography. Similar to substance abuse, engagement in behavioral addictions also “hijacks the brain.” And Clinton underscored that, regardless of which route a person finds themselves on, “it’s intoxicating.”

He continued, “We’re finding that is happening with this whole online world,” and it doesn’t take much to see how “everybody, everywhere you go … [is] on their phone from church to restaurants … to school.” It’s almost hard to believe how dominant the use of technology has become, Clinton sighed. But “when you’re targeted, it’s consuming.” Perkins agreed, concluding it’s akin to a “vortex” that “just sucks you in.”

And what are children getting sucked into? Clinton described the three P’s of what kids are exposed to online: pressure, pornography, and predators. For a developing mind, the pressures that come from the comparison and hate that occurs on social media platforms are detrimental.

Additionally, Clinton emphasized that roughly 50 percent “of online sites are porn in nature,” which then reaches young children. Finally, there’s plenty of research and evidence of the countless number of predators that strategically use social media platforms to victimize unsuspecting kids. “We’ve got to do something,” Clinton said, “and we’ve got to help parents get control here.”

On that note, Perkins asked why so many parents are hesitant to engage. Furthermore, for those who choose to engage, what can they do?

Clinton first explained that a lot of parents’ choice to stay distant boils down to them doing what seems simplest. They say ignorance is bliss, and “it’s pretty easy just to let the kids have the phone or to let the kids go do their own thing,” he said plainly. “You’re tired. You’re exhausted. The pace, the pressure, the pain of modern-day life is chewing everybody up.” As such, it’s easy to just “let people drift away” online.

And it’s even easier, Clinton added, to keep it that way. “When people get consumed in it, they get defensive, they get grouchy. You try to get them off the phone … and the next thing you know, you’re in a fight.” Many “just don’t want to go there,” he noted. But then we have to remember “the tragedy” that “our kids are getting lost in this cyber world.”

So, what can be done? As for Murthy’s idea, Clinton said that a warning label may help, but “we’d better do more than that. We better figure out how to tell parents how to manage this well, so that we can see the benefit side and make sure we protect ourselves on the downside.”

When you see your child chronically online, and especially if you notice the birth pangs of depression such as defensiveness, grouchiness, and an overall disinterest in real life matters, that’s when parents can step in and get connected with their children.

“I’m big on relationship connection,” Clinton said. “There’s a beautiful word out there called ‘attunement.’ Can you see your kids where they’re at, what they’re going through? The busy, preoccupied parent misses all those cues or those opportunities to be in those special moments.” But “kids want a relationship with mom and dad, so we start there.”

Clinton concluded, “Let’s build that bridge back, and … make sure that they’re seen, that [they] know what you love about them. Make sure your kids know that. And figure out how to help them soothe that emotion regulation stuff, that chaos that’s going on in their life.” If parents “would just step in, the number one thing that still makes kids happy is a good relationship with mom and dad.”

More than 1,000 Muslims died during this year’s Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia likely due to extreme heat.

Nearly 2 million Muslims make the mandatory pilgrimage to Mecca every year.

At least 1,000 Muslims died during this year’s pilgrimage amid soaring temperatures. Temps reached 125 degrees Fahrenheit at the Grand Mosque in Mecca this week.

Saudi officials however are staying tight-lipped and refuse to disclose what led to the unusually high number of deaths.

In years past, Muslims have died at the Grand Mosque from stampedes and epidemics. Many are speculating the soaring temps led to the deaths during the five-day Hajj.

Family members lined up at a medical facility near the Grand Mosque to identify their deceased loved ones.

The death toll from this year’s hajj has exceeded 1,000, an AFP tally said Thursday, more than half unregistered worshippers who performed the pilgrimage in extreme heat in Saudi Arabia.

The new deaths reported Thursday included 58 from Egypt, according to an Arab diplomat who provided a breakdown showing that of 658 Egyptians who died, 630 were unregistered pilgrims.

Around 10 countries have reported 1,081 deaths during the pilgrimage, one of the five pillars of Islam which all Muslims with the means must complete at least once.

The hajj, whose timing is determined by the lunar Islamic calendar, fell again this year during the oven-like Saudi summer.

Louisiana is the first state in the country to require the Ten Commandments to be displayed in every public school classroom and unsurprisingly the left is outraged.

The Gateway Pundit reported,

Louisiana became the first state to require the Ten Commandments to be displayed in every public school classroom. But the battle has only begun.

As the Associated Press reported, H.B. 71, which was signed into law by GOP Governor Jeff Landry, mandates that a poster-sized display of the Ten Commandments in “large, easily readable font” be shown all public classrooms. This includes K-12 education and state-funded universities like LSU.

The displays will be paired with a four-paragraph “context statement” describing how the Ten Commandments “were a prominent part of American public education for almost three centuries” according to CBS News. They must be in place in classrooms by the start of 2025. The legislation further requires that the posters be paid for through donations, not state funds.

Legislators in other states, such as Texas, Utah, and Oklahoma, have proposed requiring legislation similar to Louisiana’s. But fear of lawsuits has prevented the measures from being implemented into state law.

The left is more than happy to celebrate the religions of critical race theory, modern gender theory, and Marxism being shoved down your child’s throat 24/7 but they take issue to God’s morality?

Of course they do.
