Newsweek Runs Dumbest Article Possible on Roger Stone, Reeks of Liberal Panic

This is what passes for “news” at Newsweek?

Former President Donald Trump’s supporters are determined to avoid the mistakes of 2020 and are preparing to use every legal method available to prevent Democrats from dishonestly changing the results.

And there are undercover recordings to prove it!

That was the sum total of an article Newsweek published Wednesday, piggy-backing off a similar report Tuesday by Rolling Stone.

Both reports are based on conversations recorded surreptitiously by liberal documentary film maker Lauren Windsor and an accomplice, with Trump backer Roger Stone at an event at the Mar-a-Lago Club in South Florida.

Windsor was making headlines last week with similar super-duper recordings of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito that, contrary to leftist fantasies, only proved how perceptive Alito is. That was also splashed big first in Rolling Stone.

Now, no one expects “journalism” from an outfit like Rolling Stone.

The supposedly anti-establishment, rock ‘n’ roll rebel magazine has been a Democratic shill — a house organ of the Democratic Party as predictable as The New York Times but with more colorful, if sophomoric, writing.

Newsweek, however, makes at least the pretense of being a serious publication, and by that standard, the article isn’t merely inadequate, it’s about as dumb as it’s possible to be.

First, here’s the recording — where Stone vows that Trump supporters are going to be prepared for the inevitable legal fights that are going to follow the Nov. 5 vote. It’s worth watching, not just for Stone’s words, but to understand how hyperbolic the leftist reaction is:

NEW UNDERCOVER inside Mar-a-Lago: Trump Ally Roger Stone’s Plan to Win Election Relies on Judges and Courts pic.twitter.com/SNdcdCqcl7

— Lauren Windsor (@lawindsor) June 18, 2024

In the recording, Windsor initiates a conversation with Stone with an ingratiating “you’re in a position to know more than anyone else….” then asks his opinion about the election.

“Too early to say,” he responds, reasonably enough.

When Windsor tries to goad him with the line “Biden can’t win again” he answers:

“No but it can be stolen again.”

Stone then goes on to talk about actual election-related material, especially the importance of turning out the evangelical vote for Trump and keeping Trump supporters from becoming complacent.

“Overconfidence is one of our giant problems right now among our own people,” he said.

“What are we going to to do stop it, though?”

Stone apparently took the question to refer to his earlier statement about the election being stolen — which it may have been. Participants in an in-person conversation generally know what the other is referring to better than eavesdroppers on a hidden recording device.

“We’re working on it,” Stone said. “Lawyers, judges, technology.”

In other words, the GOP is working with the weapons of modern election warfare — just like Democrats have become experts at (just ask Marc Elias).

And for Newsweek, this qualifies as news.

The Windsor video includes an earlier interaction between Stone and Windsor accomplice Ally Sammarco, in which Sammarco, pretending to be a fan, tells Stone she participated in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol incursion. Obviously attempting to bait Stone, she said point-blank that the 2020 election was stolen by Democrats.

His response was clear as day for what it portended for Trump supporters:

“We’re gonna, between now and then, we’re gonna work very hard and very smart to make sure that doesn’t happen.”

Again, nuts and bolts campaign work and nuts and bolts campaign law work. This is not the stuff of undercover recording legend.

“So far, given the incredible power they have and they will use ruthlessly, we are beating them as of today,” Stone said.

He cited the legal problems facing the Democratic prosecution of Trump in Fulton County, Georgia, and special counsel Jack Smith’s cases against Trump in Florida and D.C. as signs the offensive against Trump is stalling.

And he declared that Republicans would be ready this election to fight in a way that they were not in 2020.

If that’s news at all, it’s the kind that should hearten Trump supporters, tired of seeing Democrats abusing the American legal system in their quest for power.

That’s not the kind of “news” Newsweek’s editors saw, though, as the headline declared: “Roger Stone Secret Recording Sparks Fury.”

The “fury” was, naturally, made up entirely of Democrats who apparently see something sinister in the idea that Republicans can defend themselves in a legal fight.

If the goal of the Windsor recordings was to expose something supposedly secret, it was a failure. Nothing in Stone’s words were shocking, and only comforting for Trump supporters to know their side won’t roll over and die when the going gets rough in the fall.

The fact that liberal activists are going to such lengths, coming up so empty, and pretending the attempts are just shy of the Potemkin mutiny in their importance basically reeks of liberal panic.

If the goal was to humiliate Stone personally — which was almost certainly at least a secondary aim, considering the left’s fear and loathing for the man — it was worse than a failure. And Newsweek’s publication of such an embarrassing, ham-handed piece of polemics only humiliated the publication instead.

Stone probably summed up the situation best in his own social media post, calling the story a “NOTHINGBURGER.”

The video of me illegally obtained by @lawindsor in which I lay out the perfectly legal steps Republicans must take to ensure a free ,fair and honest election is a NOTHINGBURGER https://t.co/IMs4LRBZTi

— Roger Stone (@RogerJStoneJr) June 19, 2024

“The video of me illegally obtained by @lawindsor in which I lay out the perfectly legal steps Republicans must take to ensure a free, fair and honest election is a NOTHINGBURGER,” he wrote.

It’s a nothingburger all right.

But it’s the kind of news that passes for “news” at Newsweek.

Watch: Trump Drops the Hammer on Kamala Harris, Strikes Her with Brutal Reminder of Why She’s Loathed

“Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” — John F. Kennedy.

“Let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.” — Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

“Talking about the significance of the passage of time. Right? The significance of the passage of time. So, when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time … and there is such great significance to the passage of time.” — Kamala Harris.

One of these things is not like the others, as they might say on “Sesame Street.” Or, if Kamala Harris were visiting “Sesame Street,” it may be a little bit more like, “These things, right? They are — they can be similar. We have seen them be similar. But some of them are not. One of them, in particular, is — it needs to be more similar. It is different, as they might say in our communities.”

If these were the malapropisms of President Joseph Robinette Biden, we wouldn’t be surprised. But 59-year-old Harris was selected as vice president in part because of her age, since America could be reassured that if it elected a cadaver-in-waiting, there was a youthful, energetic, cogent young(ish) woman behind him to continue the work he was elected to do.

As it turns out, Harris has been just as coherent as her boss, which isn’t saying much. And if you think that Donald Trump’s campaign isn’t going to point this out — particularly since a vote for Biden is, actuarily speaking, a vote for Harris — you’re wrong.

In an 82-second ad highlighting some of the veep’s greatest hits — all capped off with her trademark cackle — Team Trump shared some “inspiring thoughts” from the woman who would be president if anything were to happen to the frail, 81-year-old Biden should he be elected to another term.

The ad began with that “passage of time” quote — taken from a March 2022 Harris speech in Louisiana touting the benefits of high-speed internet access.

Just in case you think this was a selectively edited bit — or a “cheap fake,” as the White House is fond of calling it these days — let me assure you that the quote doesn’t make much more sense in context.

“And there is such great significance to the passage of time when we think about a day in the life of our children and what that means to the future of our nation, depending on whether or not they have the resources they need to achieve their God-given talent,” Harris told the audience.

Then came Harris, just a few days ago, speaking on the importance of local financial institutions: “So the importance of community banks is they are, as they are called, they’re in the community, led by members of the community. People who understand the capacity of the community, the needs of the community, the culture of the community.”

Kamala Harris: “The importance of community banks is they are, as they are called, they’re in the community.”
pic.twitter.com/eQWHaJEHx1

— Valuetainment Media (@ValuetainmentTV) June 14, 2024

Also, a short but sweet morsel of brilliance from the woman one weak heartbeat away from the presidency: “Space is exciting!” (That one’s from 2022, if you’re keeping track.)

The full ad, which dropped Tuesday on the official X account of the Trump campaign, is some pretty brutal stuff — and a reminder why Harris is just as loathed as her boss is:

Inspiring Thoughts from @KamalaHarris pic.twitter.com/Tn1vqZdlDd

— Team Trump (Text TRUMP to 88022) (@TeamTrump) June 18, 2024

Indeed, some of this is practically zen-like, what with her response to NBC News’ Craig Melvin in 2022 about whether it was time to shift course on COVID policy: “It is time for us to do what we have been doing, and that time is every day.”

Or maybe another quote of hers: “I can imagine what can be and be unburdened by what has been.”

Use that as your pre-meditation mantra and your mind will be as clear and empty as … well, just look at the woman in the video.

Look, absent any other red flags, this would feel a little bit harsh. After all, verbal infelicity in a political candidate shouldn’t necessarily be disqualifying; while C-SPAN didn’t exist back in the day, Thomas Jefferson was reportedly such a poor public speaker that it remains part of his legacy two centuries later. It doesn’t besmirch any of his accomplishments.

However — to paraphrase the late Sen. Lloyd Bentsen, Democrat Michael Dukakis’ 1988 running mate — Vice President Harris, I knew Thomas Jefferson from my textbooks. Thomas Jefferson was a term paper subject of mine. Vice President Harris, you’re no Thomas Jefferson.

Besides being black and a woman (crucial qualifications in the identity politics of the Democratic Party), Kamala Harris is supposed to be much younger and much sharper than a president who barely seems to remember his own name.

The unspoken, morbid reasoning behind her selection as Biden’s running mate in 2020, and her presence on the 2024 ticket, is that for Democrats the choice is clear: Do you think Joe Biden will survive another four years doing the most demanding elected job in the free world? Do you not think, in the back of your mind, that a lever-pull for Joe Biden is basically a lever-pull for Kamala Harris?

The problem with this strategy, alas, is that using a younger politician as a backstop doesn’t work if, under the slightest intellectual pressure, Harris’ mind seems to descend into a doom loop where it produces nothing of intellectual or rhetorical value.

If the Democrats wanted that, well, they already have it. And, in 82 seconds, Donald Trump’s campaign displayed exactly why that’s a huge problem for America if Biden wins again this November.

Per KRON 4:

Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided property owned by Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao Thursday morning, KRON4.com has confirmed. FBI agents arrived at Mayor Thao’s property in the 100 block of Maiden Lane in Oakland at 5:30 a.m., according to sources.

As of 7:30 a.m., agents remained on the scene. An FBI agent at the scene confirmed to KRON4 News that the address was being investigated. A San Francisco FBI spokesperson told KRON4 that the agency is conducting “court authorized law enforcement” at the property.

The FBI declined to provide additional details at this time.

The incident comes on the heels of a recall campaign against the mayor advancing to the November ballot.

The FBI raid came after Oakland residents received enough signatures to force a recall measure on the November ballot.

A group called Oakland United to Recall Sheng Thao (OUST) stated that it has received 40,595 signatures in support of a recall effort to replace Thao.

Only 25,000 signatures are needed to force a recall election.

OUST stated they started the recall effort after crime “has gotten worse” with Thao as mayor.

Juicing?

Citing sources, CBS News told their audience to “expect some surprises” on Biden’s “physical performance” at next week’s presidential debate.

President Trump and Joe Biden will face off in the first presidential debate next Thursday. The debate will be hosted by CNN in Atlanta.

The microphones will be muted except when it is the candidate’s ‘turn’ to speak.

Campaign staff may not interact with the candidates during breaks and no props are allowed.

“I’m told that we should expect some surprises as well because this is such a critical performance for Biden. Not only on the content but his physical performance,” CBS News said.

The last time the public saw Joe Biden he was struggling to get into his presidential SUV.

Joe Biden Tuesday evening struggled to get into his SUV motorcade after an *exhausting* night of fundraising in McLean, Virginia.

The only way Biden will be able to function at next week’s debate is if he is doped up on a cocktail of meds.

MADNESS IN OAKLAND: Several Partygoers Shot and Police Officers Assaulted During Unsanctioned Juneteenth Celebration Involving THOUSANDS of Revelers (VIDEO)

Credit: Post Millennial

Multiple revelers were shot and police officers assaulted during an unauthorized gathering in Oakland, California involving thousands of people Wednesday night.

KTVU reported that the celebration, which had at least 5,000 people in attendance, was a mostly “peaceful” event until around 8:15 p.m. local time. This is when an illegal sideshow involving vehicles and motorbikes occurred.

Paul Chambers, the Oakland Police Department’s (OPD) strategic communications manager, said the shooting happened around 8:45 p.m. during a fight that broke out down the street from the sideshow and a crowd gathered in the area of the fight.

Raws Alerts captured partial footage of the incident on its page. In the video, people are seen screaming and fleeing in terror as shots ring out.

A few motionless bodies are also seen slumped against buildings and on the sidewalk.

KTVU revealed there was a significant police presence, with at least two dozen police vehicles and multiple ambulances on site. The OPD said 28 officers and four sergeants were at the scene to monitor the event.

Chambers told KTVU that as officers tried to get the crowd to safety, several people hit OPD officers. According to Chambers, at least one person was taken into custody for assaulting an officer.

Oakland police have not been able to confirm fatalities at this point.

When KTVU arrived on the scene, one man was being loaded into an ambulance. Police officers have gone out to local hospitals to determine how many victims self-transported themselves for medical assistance.

Oakland police say the investigation of Wednesday night’s shooting is ongoing. Anyone with video or information regarding the incident is asked to contact authorities.

“Biden Is Completely Wrong on Mass Amnesty Plan” – Spanish Immigrant and US Attorney Maria Herrera on FOX News (VIDEO)

Maria Herrera on FOX News with Bill Hemmer

US immigration attorney and Spanish migrant Maria Herrera joined Bill Hemmer on FOX News this week after Joe Biden announced his sweeping amnesty plan that will give millions of illegal migrants their immunity.

Maria believes this was a major mistake by the Biden regime. She also pointed out that a majority of Hispanics in the country today support a plan to deport illegal aliens in the country today.

Bill Hemmer: President Biden now rolling out a brand new executive action this week, shielding half a million migrants from deportation. That involves the spouses of US citizens… Maria Herrera immigrated the US legally from Spain, and she’s now an immigration attorney. Good morning to you, Maria… How did you get here legally?

Maria Herrera: Well, I immigrated. I had a scholarship to study in my doctorate in the United States. So I came here in 2008, and then I became a citizen in 2014.

I think President Biden is completely wrong about what he’s telling people. It’s just like we already have a lawful presence waiver in the United States that allow families to stay in the US and be able to adjust status, get green cars, as long as you show that there’s an extreme hardship to a US citizen or LPR spouse or parents. So what he’s saying is not true. I agree with Governor Abbott. It just makes no sense. This is not the time to make more concessions, especially now that we have the cartels and the organized crime running our border and ready to attack the US again.

Bill Hemmer: Well, there is several stories that have popped up, different parts of the country, where illegals are connected to crime, sometimes violent crime. You said migrants from Venezuela are a particular threat. How come?

Maria Herrera: Absolutely, because they are coming here. They belong to Tren de Aragua, which is an organized crime, and I totally disagree when Biden approved the TPS for Venezuelans. We know what will happen. We know what’s going on in Venezuela. We have seen how not only they kept together to commit fraud against the US, but they’re also helping other migrants to commit fraud in the US. That’s why I recommend the next President of the United States to establish, to set an office, a federal office, to combat immigration fraud. This fraud is rampant, and we are seeing it every day more than ever…

…You see the latest survey, over 53% of Hispanic Americans, they’re now in favor of deporting all migrants. Why? Because they’re scared. They face competition. They see that this is not the country that they aspire to live in. We’re seeing censorship. We’re feeling communism, Marxism. Now, they don’t want that. Biden is just like allowing hundreds of thousands of migrants coming without being vetted. That’s unfortunate. Not only that, when you come here, you go through the credible fear interview. It’s just like there’s not enough controls to make sure that who is coming has a legitimate path to become an asylum beneficiary and a green car holder. Over 80% of cases get denied in US courts. It’s for sure something that this administration is not concerned about. But this is a death sentence for migrants. For sure, the Congress is not going to pass an immigration reform, which, by the way, I don’t agree that the system is broken. They’re breaking the system every day.

Maria is an expert on this issue. Her interviews are always enlightening.

Rishi Sunak on Track to Lose His Seat

A new poll and seat projection show the British Tories losing Britain’s upcoming July 4 election in a landslide, with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak himself set to lose his own seat. This would be a first in history, as no sitting British Prime Minister has ever been voted out of Parliament.

The Telegraph’s projection shows Labour winning 516 seats, while the Tories would win only 53. By contrast, the Liberal Democrats would win 50, and, were they to overtake the Tories, then they would become the official opposition.

Ex-CDC Director: “We Will Have a Bird Flu Pandemic… Just a Matter of Time”

(Note: Thank you for supporting businesses like the one presenting a sponsored message below and working with them through the links below which benefits Gateway Pundit. We appreciate your support!)

Amidst the FDA and HHS publicly advocating and funding the development of mRNA vaccines for bird flu, Trump’s former CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield confirms the inevitable:

“It’s not a question of if, it’s more of a question of when we will have a bird flu pandemic,” Redfield told News Nation last week.

“Once the virus gains the ability to attach to the human receptor and then go human to human, that’s when you’re going to have the pandemic. And as I said, I think it’s just a matter of time.”

Better safe than sorry.

Dr. Redfield’s grim conclusion is prompting others in the scientific community to recommend immediate action.

Indeed, renowned Harvard epidemiologist Dr. Eric Ding gave this surprising advice that went viral on social media:

Sadly, most Americans don’t have a trusted doctor willing to supply their families with life-saving medications ahead of a crisis.

That’s why Dr. Peter McCullough, America’s leading cardiologist and COVID19 expert, created the pro-freedom Wellness Company.

Now, you can order an emergency stockpile of Oseltamivir (Tamiflu ) online today – without having to book an appointment with your old physician.

Budesonide 0.5 mg/2 mL – 5 vials (plus nebulizer included)

1 Medication Guidebook written by the Chief Medical Board for safe use.

Dr. McCullough said back in April 2024:

“Out of an abundance of caution, we are adding Tamiflu to the Contagion Kit. Tamiflu is a safe medication approved treat Influenza type A, viruses like avian flu. We will continue to closely monitor this situation and make further recommendations as warranted.”

You already have Tylenol and Nyquil on-hand – why not medications that could save your life?

JOE BIDEN’S AMERICA: Five Illegals Arrested in Kidnapping of 14-Year-Old Girl From Her Indiana Home

Joe Biden’s America.

Five illegal aliens on Monday were arrested in the kidnapping of a 14-year-old child from her Indiana home.

Marlon Aguilar, 44, from the Honduras
Arturo Eustaquio, 41, from Mexico
Noe Guzman Hernandez, 24, from Mexico
Daniel Ruiz Lopez, 19, from Honduras
Carlos Funez, 56, from Honduras

The girl’s father last saw his daughter getting into a black SUV and reported her missing to law enforcement.

Missouri State Troopers were able to locate the missing girl after her phone pinged a tower on Highway 36. The vehicle was heading west. Police believe the illegals were taking the teen to California to meet with a man she met online.

The illegals were tracked down in Macon County. They were all charged with second-degree kidnapping and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

KTVO reported:

Five men were taken into custody Monday morning in northeast Missouri after a teenage girl was reported missing from her home in Indiana.

The suspects are accused of kidnapping the 14-year-old.

The teen’s father had last seen her getting in a black SUV and reported her missing to police in Indiana.

Just before 2 a.m. Monday, Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers were notified that the girl’s cell phone was pinged going westbound on U.S. Highway 36. A short time later, a Shelbina police sergeant saw a black SUV with Texas plates heading west.

Just before 2:30 a.m., a trooper saw an SUV matching the description and initiated a traffic stop in Macon County.

Paul Sperry: War College: How a Berkeley Professor Inspired and Engineered Anti-Israel Protests

User: (WT-shared) Alel at wts wikivoyage, Wikimedia Commons

This story originally was published by Real Clear Wire

By Paul Sperry, RealClearInvestigations

Echoing the Muslim prophet Muhammad, Professor Hatem Bazian, a University of California, Berkeley lecturer, told his fellow Muslims: “The Day of Judgment will never happen until you fight the Jews.”

At the Santa Clara conference sponsored by the American Muslim Alliance, Bazian exhorted the crowd: “They are on the west side of the river, which is the Jordan River, and you’re on the east side until the trees and the stones will say, ‘Oh Muslim, there is a Jew hiding behind me. Come and kill him!’ And that’s in the Hadith [the sayings and deeds of Muhammad] about this. This is a future battle before the Day of Judgment.”

Bazian’s threatening prophecy from 1999 might be lost to history but for the central role he has been playing in the anti-Israel protests that have erupted at college campuses. Two groups he helped create, Students for Justice in Palestine and American Muslims for Palestine, have been instrumental in organizing the demonstrations. In recent months he has visited the encampments from coast to coast, exhorting students to condemn Israel for launching counterstrikes in Gaza after marauding Hamas terrorists attacked and slaughtered more than 1,200 Israelis in October and took hundreds of others captive, including several Americans. Bazian has urged students to call on administrators and national leaders to protect Palestinian civilians in Gaza, whom he claims are victims of a “genocide” carried out by the Israeli government.

Although many opponents of Israel’s war against Hamas deny that their movement is tied to antisemitism, critics say Bazian’s deep involvement in the protests and his long history of inflammatory rhetoric against the Jewish people puts that claim in doubt. “The campus unrest is being driven by people with a very troubling past,” said Jon Schanzer, a former U.S. Treasury counterterrorism official. “They’re trying to legitimize Hamas.”

Drawing on a wide array of public records, RealClearInvestigations found that Bazian has been agitating against Jews and Israel on college campuses for decades. His 1999 exhortation of Holy War between Muslims and Jews was part of a larger pattern of words and deeds in which he sought to radicalize young Americans against the Jewish people. Bazian’s history – and the top place he holds in the ongoing turmoil – also reveal the key role he’s long planned for America’s institutions of higher learning to play in mainstreaming and spreading ideas that many people consider hateful.

A Palestinian immigrant, Bazian was born in the West Bank town of Nablus and attended high school in Jordan. He graduated from San Francisco State University and then moved to Berkeley, where he chairs the Islamophobia Research and Documentation Project.

Upon arriving at Berkeley in 1993, Bazian helped start the first college chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine – whose national organization says it supports more than 350 “Palestinian solidarity organizations.” In 2006, he co-founded its umbrella organization, American Muslims for Palestine. “We support campus activism through Students for Justice in Palestine,” AMP states on its website.

“AMP is directly involved in the campus chaos,” Schanzer said, by helping coordinate protests at colleges where its SJP outposts operate. AMP provides funding and guidance for the chapters for, among other things, holding anti-Israel “teach-ins,” erecting pro-Palestinian tables, crafting media “talking points,” and creating flyers and placards for the campus encampments and occupations that demonize Israel and sanitize Hamas atrocities as “resistance.”

As AMP’s chairman, Bazian has visited several encampments, including at the University of Pennsylvania, San Diego State University, UC-San Diego, University of San Francisco and UC-Berkeley, where his acolytes have set up a “Gaza Solidarity Camp.” RCI’s review of videos posted on social media of his encampment talks reveals he’s instructed students not to be “nice” while protesting, because he said being polite won’t get the attention of college administrators or President Biden, whom he demands divest from Israel and pressure Israel to withdraw from Gaza.

Meanwhile, his organization, which employs a full-time campus outreach coordinator, is under both federal and state investigation for ties to Hamas, and is also a defendant in a major new lawsuit brought by survivors of the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attack.

A Richardson, Texas-based lawyer representing Bazian and AMP did not reply to requests for comment. After also reaching out to Bazian directly, RCI’s messages went unanswered. Bazian has a history of seeming to endorse, or even call for, violence, and then denying doing so. In 2004, while Hamas was leading a deadly resistance, or “intifada,” in Israel that included suicide bombers, Bazian reportedly called for an “intifada” inside America while addressing a largely Muslim crowd at an anti-Iraq war rally.

“Are you angry? Are you angry?! Well, we’ve been watching intifada in Palestine,” Bazian shouted. “How come we don’t have an intifada in this country?”

“They’re going to say [I’m] some Palestinian being radical – well, you haven’t seen radicalism yet,” he added. “It’s about time we have an intifada in this country!”

He later claimed his remarks were meant to incite only a “political intifada” inside this country, not violent revolt. Last month, while rallying protestors at a University of San Francisco encampment, Bazian again called  for “intifada,” asking students, “Can you all say intifada?”

“Intifada!” protesters shouted back.

Speaking to students gathered outside tents at the same USF rally, Bazian encouraged the forceful taking and “holding” of campus buildings as protesters did at Columbia University before New York police stormed the facility and removed them. Recruiting new protesters, he bellowed, “Let me say we welcome agitators for justice. We celebrate courage and continue to make changes because a free Palestine is a reality that is waiting to be actualized. Free Palestine! Don’t let anyone stop you from making history!”

Student protesters have echoed his rhetoric that Hamas has the right to “resist” Israel by resorting to violence.

On Oct. 7 – the same day as the horrific attacks on Israel which included the murder of hundreds of innocent youths attending a music festival – the flagship Berkeley chapter of Students for Justice In Palestine released a statement with SJP chapters at dozens of other colleges pledging their “unwavering support of the resistance in Gaza … We stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Palestine.” Bazian’s flagship group made it clear it was honoring “our comrades in blood and arms” fighting on the ground in Gaza – that is, Hamas – and warned that “what is coming is greater. Victory or martyrdom.”

Parroting Hamas’ rhetoric for annihilating Israel, they then pronounced: “From River to Sea, glory to the Palestinian resistance and glory to our martyrs.” Berkeley’s SJP chapter later held a vigil for “martyrs in Palestine” killed during and after the bloody anti-Israel incursion.

According to an FBI memo, one of the founders of Hamas has stated, “Hamas is a Palestinian Jihad movement that strives for the liberation of all Palestine, from the [Mediterranean] sea to the river [Jordan], from the north to the south,” a goal that would erase Israel from the map.

An NPR report earlier this month on the meaning of intifada – an Arabic word that can mean to “shake off” or “uprising” – quoted people who say it is inextricably related to violence and those who say it is not.

Basil Rodriguez, whom NPR identified as a Palestinian American graduate student at Columbia, told the network: “For me, it just speaks to liberation. To free Palestine from the [Israeli] apartheid regime, and the military occupation. For me it calls for freedom and for change.”

Eliana Goldin, whom NPR identified as a Jewish undergraduate and leader of a pro-Israel group at Columbia, said “The word ‘intifada’ was only associated with death and terrorism and destruction. So ‘intifada’ still feels just as charged as if someone were to say Holocaust. Or if someone were to mention any sort of catastrophe that happened against a people that you consider yourself a part of.”

Schanzer, the former Treasury official, agreed. “When they’re calling for an ‘intifada,’ they’re calling for a violent uprising,” he said. “These are things we commonly associate with Hamas rhetoric.”

The next day, Oct. 8, while pockets of Hamas terrorists inside Israel’s borders were still killing, raping, and kidnapping civilians, the National Students for Justice in Palestine, which is controlled by the AMP, distributed a “Resistance Toolkit” that celebrated Hamas’ war crimes as “a historic win for the Palestinian resistance: Across land, air and sea, our people have broken down the artificial barriers” separating Gaza from Israel.

Adopting Bazian’s language about “actualiz[ing]” the creation of a Palestinian state, the toolkit continued to exalt Hamas: “Our people are actualizing revolution. Palestine will be liberated from the river to the sea.” By our people, it meant “our people back home” in Gaza.

Then the toolkit rationalized Hamas’ brutal terrorist tactics, arguing “there is no ‘right’ way for Palestinians to fight.” It added that the Israelis who were murdered were not “civilians” and that their “death falls solely on the zionist entity.”

The toolkit went on to praise the “ingenuity” of Hamas terrorists for capturing an Israeli bulldozer and using it “to breach the illegitimate border fence” and for “neutraliz[ing]” the barrier “in hours.”

“This action of resistance shatters the illusion of Israel as an impenetrable, indestructible entity,” the five-page document gushed while marveling at the “large-scale” battle marshaled by Hamas, which it noted was ongoing. “The resistance fighters are still launching new attacks into [Israel].”

Advocating further violence, the NSJP toolkit advised students that liberating Palestine “requires confrontation by any means necessary” — including “armed struggle,” not just slogans and rallies, which it asserted is “legitimate.” It provided templates of pro-Hamas graphics for student protesters to use for campus posters and other propaganda, including one depicting the Hamas terrorists paragliding into Israel to carry out their mass slaughter.

“We will also be having a ‘how to organize a protest,’ including roles, security, media training, and more, on the national call-in meeting on Oct. 9,” it advised.

In a chilling closing remark, NSJP confirmed it wasn’t just supporting from afar the Oct. 7 actions of Hamas – a specially designated terrorist organization – but was actually a “part” of its movement. “We as Palestinian students in exile are PART of this movement, not [just] in solidarity with this movement,” NSJP averred.

The group’s toolkit spread through dorm rooms across the country thanks to social media, and soon anti-Israel protests broke out at major universities using the tactics and propaganda suggested by NSJP. For example:

Protesters at Tufts University called the terrorists “liberation fighters paragliding into occupied territory,” noting that Hamas had shown “the creativity necessary to take back stolen land.”

The rabble at Columbia University blamed Israel for the terror attacks, justifying the murder of women and children as provoked by Israeli “oppression.” Demonstrators could be heard chanting support for their “friends and brothers in Hamas,” and actually called on the terrorists to attack Israel again. “Never forget the 7th of October,” some taunted Jewish students. “That will happen … 10,000 more times!” The Anti-Defamation League, moreover, recorded explicit support for terrorism and violence at the Columbia encampment on April 17, when one protester declared: “We are Hamas,” while others chanted: “Al-Qassam [the name of Hamas’ military wing] you make us proud, kill another [Israeli] soldier now!”

At several other colleges, SJP-influenced protests featured chants such as “Resistance is justified” and “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” reflecting the same anti-Israel propaganda distributed by the Berkeley chapter of SJP in the immediate aftermath of Oct. 7.

Such militancy is the culmination of decades of grooming by Bazian. In a speech at the 2011 AMP conference in Chicago, he predicted college campuses would be ground zero in the battle for the “Palestine movement.” “The university is going to be the frontline and the pro-Israelis know this,” Bazian said. To that end, AMP expanded its operations on college campuses by founding the National Students for Justice in Palestine to better organize and fund chapters and recruit pro-Palestinian activists.

Some FBI veterans who have investigated the Hamas network of front groups in America say hard-core Muslim leaders like Bazian are brainwashing students into thinking they are part of a heroic struggle for “freedom,” but are merely co-opting them for their own anti-Jewish holy war.

“Bazian and other Muslim organizers keep framing these campus protests as a ‘human-rights’ struggle, when it’s clearly just another front in their religious war,” said former special FBI counterterrorism agent John Guandolo. “This isn’t about freeing Gaza or protecting Palestinian civilians,” he added. “This is about Islam and their hatred of Jews and fulfilling their scriptural commands. This is jihad.”

By hiding the religious element, he said, Bazian has managed to create an army of anti-Israel radicals at several hundred campuses across the country, many of whom are not even Muslim. He says they are being used as proxies in Hamas’ jihad, or holy war, against their Islamic enemy: the Jews. “Bazian is a senior leader in the jihadi movement in America,” Guandolo said. “He’s not on campus for the Chick-fil-A.”

A federal lawsuit recently filed by Oct. 7 families against AMP and NSJP alleges they “are not innocent advocacy groups, but rather the propaganda arm of a terrorist organization operating in plain sight” and “provide ongoing, continuous, systematic and material support for Hamas.” Acting as “agents” of Hamas in America, it claims, they are central command for the pro-Hamas campus protests and pose a dangerous threat to Jews in America.

It is illegal to provide material support to Hamas, a U.S.-designated terrorist organization that was founded in 1988 in the Gaza Strip to establish an “Islamic Palestinian State that encompasses Israel, the West Bank and Gaza,” according to the 51-page internal FBI memo. Its covenants call for jihad to achieve the goal of destroying the Jewish state, while asserting this “armed struggle” against Jews is the duty of every Muslim. The FBI memo, written in the wake of the 9/11 attacks, noted that the Hamas leadership has launched several bloody “intifadas” targeting the Jewish people and told Palestinians they can “do whatever they want against the brothers of monkeys and pigs,” a phrase borrowed from the Muslim holy book the Quran to describe Jews.

In a previous statement, Bazian dismissed the lawsuit as “an Islamophobic text reeking in anti-Palestinian racism,” while his attorney Christy Jump insisted, “AMP operates fully within the laws of the United States.”

However, state and federal investigators are looking into whether Bazian’s AMP has crossed the line between legal activism and material support for terrorism. Virginia’s attorney general is investigating allegations AMP “may have used funds raised for impermissible purposes under state law, including benefiting or providing support to a terrorist organization,” referring to Hamas. AMP has denied the allegations and called them “defamatory.”

AMP’s troubles deepened last month when the House Oversight Committee launched a probe into AMP and its sister organization, the National Students for Justice in Palestine, over their allegedly “substantial ties to Hamas.” House investigators subpoenaed AMP for all documents and communications related to its funding of SJP’s college hubs and its support for Hamas and the Oct. 7 massacre. AMP was told to comply with the order by June 12. Asked if the nonprofit group would cooperate, Jump did not respond.

The federal lawsuit alleges AMP and NSJP are radicalizing students by exploiting their passions for “justice” and “human rights” in the Middle East, while hiding from them their religious extremism and true motive of targeting Jews in general.

“Through NSJP, AMP uses propaganda to intimidate, convince and recruit uninformed, misguided and impressionable college students to serve as foot soldiers for Hamas on campus and beyond,” according to the court filing. Part of their goal, it alleges, is to “establish an environment where violence against Jews could be construed as acceptable.”

Others worry they are grooming junior terrorists and that their mass movement across campuses, which is becoming increasingly violent, could end in armed confrontation on U.S. soil.

“When college students see that their marches and protests aren’t achieving their goals [of a ceasefire in Gaza and divestment from Israel], they may consider their next steps – which will be influenced by the company they have been keeping,” warned Steven Stalinsky, executive director of the Middle East Media Research Institute in Washington, D.C.
