WATCH: Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs Snaps at Reporter When Asked About Attorney General’s Investigation into $400K Pay for Play Scheme

Katie Hobbs screams at reporters asking about alleged pay for play scheme

Katie Hobbs lost it last week, yelling at reporters who attempted to question her further about an ongoing investigation into a possible quid pro quo.

“There is an AG investigation. I’m not going to comment further except to say that I look forward to the conclusion of the investigation and finding that we acted in the best interest of Arizonans,” said Hobbs before reporters attempted to press her. In response, she screamed, “That is all I am going to say right now!”

As reported by The Gateway Pundit, Hobbs is currently facing an investigation stemming from significant donations made to the Democratic Party and a dark money group that was used for Hobbs’ inaugural events, potentially influencing state contract decisions.

Hobbs’ ethical conduct was previously called into question by GOP State Legislators after she solicited donations of up to $250,000 using a 501(c)(4) nonprofit group for inaugural events. She reportedly received $400,000 from a company, which later made millions in return.

This came after Hobbs, who was Secretary of State at the time and responsible for elections statewide, stole her election by less than 1% of the vote from Trump-Endorsed Kari Lake with 60% of vote counting machines failing in the state’s largest county, Maricopa.

In response to GOP pressure, Democrat Attorney General Kris Mayes, who, like Hobbs, stole the 2022 election by 280 votes from Trump-endorsed Abe Hamadeh, recently announced she would launch a criminal investigation into Hobbs’ pay-to-play scheme.

UPDATE: Arizona Democrat Attorney General Kris Mayes to Launch Criminal Investigation into Gov. Katie Hobbs for Bribery and Fraud

However, many are concerned that Kris Mayes, a Democrat, has a conflict of interest. Additionally, the Attorney General’s office represents the Department of Child Safety, which may be implicated in the corruption.

Republican Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell sent a letter earlier this month to Mayes, signaling that she will open her own investigation into the matter.

Mitchell’s letter comes in response to June 7 letters to the Maricopa County Attorney and the state’s Auditor General, asking both agencies to stand down from the investigation and claiming that a separate investigation “could jeopardize the integrity of the criminal investigation that my office will now proceed with.”

“Mayes has been asked by State Rep. David Livingston, R-28th District, to recuse herself from the investigation over concerns that she would not be able to properly investigate a member of her own party. On Monday, Arizona State Treasurer Kimberly Yee, a Republican, requested Mitchell, a fellow Republican, conduct her own investigation to ensure objectivity,” reports ABC15.

Can the public feel confident that Kris Mayes will execute a thorough and unbiased investigation? Katie Hobbs is sure confident that her Democrat colleague’s investigation will find “that we acted in the best interest of Arizonans.”

Watch below:

Hobbs: I have always and will always do what is best for Arizonans. There is an AG investigation. I’m not going to comment further except to say that I look forward to the conclusion of the investigation and finding that we acted in the best interest of Arizonans. That is all I’m going to say about this.

That is all I am going to say right now!

After Winning NBA Championship Celtics Head Coach Puts On “But First Let Me Thank God” Shirt

Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazulla donned a shirt that read “But First… Let Me Thank God” shirt moments after winning the NBA championship.

Mazzulla, who has not been shy about sharing his faith, immediately removed his coaching shirt and revealed his God First t-shirt underneath after coaching the Celtics to a 106-88 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

Per OutKick:

Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla sported a shirt that read ‘But First Let Me Thank God’ across the front of it as he and his players celebrated winning the franchise’s 18th championship on Monday night.

Mazzulla, who speaks about his Christian faith often, wasted no time in giving praise following the Celtic’s 18-point victory in Game 5 in Boston. The 35-year-old head coach wore a black crewneck throughout the series-clinching game and appeared to come fully prepared with his ‘But First Let Me Thank God’ shirt underneath.

Mazulla went viral in a press conference before the Celtics victory in Game Two of the NBA finals.

In the press conference, Mazulla was asked how he felt about being the first black coach to face another black coach in the NBA finals since 1975.

In response, Mazulla shared, “I wonder how many of those have been Christian coaches?”

O’Brien Speaks: Trump’s ‘Shadow Secretary of State’ Weighs In

O’Brien Speaks: Trump’s ‘Shadow Secretary of State’ Weighs In

Trump’s former national security adviser files a Jacksonian treatise to Foreign Affairs. What to make of it?

“The Cold War practice of garrisoning large numbers of troops with their families on massive bases in places like Germany is now, in part, obsolete. Modern warfare is increasingly expeditionary and requires platforms with extended range, flexibility and endurance. While air bases and logistics hubs remain important, the Cold War-style garrisoning of troops makes less military and fiscal sense than it did in the 1970s,” the then-White House National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien wrote in the Wall Street Journal in 2020. With his name floated again as a potential national security adviser, O’Brien has written a long essay in Foreign Affairs about a potential Trump 2.0 foreign policy.

The crux of the argument is that Trump was a Jacksonian peacemaker who believes in peace through strength, as displayed in his administration’s efforts in Serbia and Kosovo and the crowning achievement of Abraham Accords. Another Trump achievement was his hesitation to launch foreign wars. “Trump was determined to avoid new wars and endless counterinsurgency operations, and his presidency was the first since that of Jimmy Carter in which the United States did not enter a new war or expand an existing conflict,” O’Brien reminds us.

He argues that Trump is different from traditional foreign-policy presidents in an old school way: He prefers diplomacy as a secretive personalized endeavor, as it was conducted in the 19th century (successfully, one might add).

“Trump has never aspired to promulgate a ‘Trump Doctrine’ for the benefit of the Washington foreign policy establishment,” O’Brien writes. “He adheres not to dogma but to his own instincts and to traditional American principles that run deeper than the globalist orthodoxies of recent decades.”

O’Brien provides three key foreign policy suggestions for a future Trump administration. On Ukraine, he thinks that Trump should keep the door of diplomacy open with Russia while pushing Europe to provide lethal military aid to Ukraine. “Trump’s approach would be to continue to provide lethal aid to Ukraine, financed by European countries, while keeping the door open to diplomacy with Russia—and keeping Moscow off balance with a degree of unpredictability.” This is different from the current Biden approach, as Biden is slow-rolling aid to Ukraine while shutting off the diplomatic route completely. “The Biden administration has since provided significant military aid to Ukraine but has often dragged its feet in sending Kyiv the kinds of weapons it needs to succeed. The $61 billion Congress recently appropriated for Ukraine—on top of the $113 billion already approved—is probably sufficient to prevent Ukraine from losing, but not enough to enable it to win. Meanwhile, Biden does not seem to have a plan to end the war.”

His second provocative plan is a complete decoupling from China, including moving toward a maximum tariff as well as rearming, retesting, and stockpiling nuclear weapons: “Washington must test new nuclear weapons for reliability and safety in the real world for the first time since 1992—not just by using computer models.”

He adds, “Congress and the executive branch should recommit to the goal of having a 355-ship navy by 2032, which Trump set in 2017. This modestly larger navy must include more stealthy Virginia-class attack submarines.”

The rest of the op-ed is Washingtonese-heavy and mostly concerned with tactical changes. There’s not much to disagree with it, especially if you are a foreign policy realist and understand that China, not Russia, is the key challenge, that the Middle East is a place best avoided—or, even better, dumped on local players as a curse to manage—and that Europeans will wax lyrical about democracy so long as they can leech American taxpayers’ money.

None of this is new or controversial. “The United States is not perfect, and its security does not require every nation on earth to resemble it politically. Throughout much of U.S. history, most Americans believed it was sufficient to stand as a model to others rather than to attempt to impose a political system on others.” What is there to disagree with? A certain foreign policy analyst recently wrote a short paper that made many of the same arguments.

Purely for the sake of concrete assessment, however, a couple of clarifications are required. First, a complete decoupling from China is fine in theory. How would one do that? What would be the economic impact? A worldview is as good as its implementation. Washington’s biggest power is not nuclear weapons, but the dollar. Currently, we are struggling to coerce Russia by sanctions as China, India, and even Europe are looking for ways to get away from dollar hegemony and find alternate reserve currencies and trade routes. Collapse would come to D.C. if the dollar ever loses to something else; and this scenario is too devastating to even contemplate.

Second, O’Brien doesn’t offer much about nearshoring manufacturing. Taking manufacturing away from China but giving it to India or the Philippines won’t help reshape the American industrial base. It would strengthen those country’s economies at best, and at worst would create a new monster with power to leverage against us (as in the case of India).

Third, it must be underlined that the most easily reformable foreign policy theater is Europe, the world’s second-richest continent but a parasite on the generosity of Americans. While a lot was said about Western European freeriding, not much is said about the Baltics or Ukraine and their attempt to chain-gang us to war. A student of history would remember that most modern great power wars were due to smaller protectorates dragging their benefactors to unnecessary civilization-destroying wars. The Danes are not the ones pushing for escalation in Ukraine. The Balts and the Polish are.

For what it’s worth, Western Europe is still more important economically and strategically to the American security architecture. Eastern Europe, not so much. Geography is destiny. The prudent strategy is, as always, consider the European Union as a trade and even ideological rival, and “divide and rule.” A Europe divided is beneficial to American trade and power. We can do business with every single of those countries individually, and we’d have the leverage. If we end up consolidating Europe under one army and one flag, then tomorrow they might side with China against us. Balance is to be the ultimate guarantor of European security, while having Europeans take the majority of their security burden. O’Brien is prudent enough to realize that, perhaps without putting it out on paper. But someone needs to say that out loud.

Not since Henry Kissinger has a national security adviser been so close to creating a foreign policy legacy of his own. Of the three theaters, a new security arrangement and architecture in Europe would be historical and legacy-building for a new president, and perhaps, of all the theaters in question, the most ripe for a restructuring. One hopes the next State Department is full of people who can realize what a golden opportunity they are presented with.

Putin Arrives In North Korea For First Visit In 24 Years, Vows To Fight US-led Sanctions

Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked North Korean leader Kim Jong Un for support in his war against Ukraine and vowed to work with the reclusive Communist state against US-led sanctions

Putin’s rare 2-day visit to Pyongyang on Tuesday for a summit with the North Korean leader is his first trip to the communist nation in 24 years. Kim has not hosted another world leader in his isolated country since the Covid-19 pandemic.

The trip comes days after North Korean soldiers breached the heavily fortified demilitarized zone, the border between North Korea and South Korea, for the second time this month, prompting South Korean soldiers to retaliate with warning shots.

In remarks published in an op-ed by North Korean state media, Putin expressed appreciation for North Korea’s support of Russia’s “special military operation” in Ukraine.

Russia and North Korea will continue to “resolutely oppose” Western attempts to “hinder the establishment of a multipolar world order based on justice, mutual respect of sovereignty, considering each other’s interests,” Putin wrote.

The Russian president also announced his country will join North Korea in developing trade systems “that are not controlled by the West.”

The Russian leader also commended Kim for defying UN Security Council sanctions.

Pyongyang had defended its interests “very effectively, despite the US economic pressure, provocation, blackmail and military threats that have lasted for decades,” Putin wrote. “We will develop alternative mechanisms of trade and mutual settlements that are not controlled by the West, and jointly resist illegitimate unilateral restrictions. And at the same time, we will build an architecture of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia.”

As Putin arrived in Pyongyang, “the streets were decorated with Putin’s portraits and Russian flags,” Associated Press reports. “A banner hung on a building said: ‘We warmly welcome the President of the Russian Federation.’”

Putin first met Kim Jong Un in September when Jong Un visited Russia.

Last week, the Biden administration and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a 10-year bilateral security agreement, including a deal on a multibillion-dollar loan to Kyviv defend against Russian invasion, and sanctions to impede Russia’s ability to continue its war in Ukraine.

MEDIA FAIL: Leftist MSNBC Contributor’s Claim that a ‘Feeble’ Trump Was Guided Off Stage During Rally Blows Up in His Face After Footage Emerges Exposing the Truth (VIDEO)

Credit: @NoLieWithBTC

The Gateway Pundit has extensively reported on unedited videos showcasing Joe Biden’s worsening dementia, including multiple notable ones in just the last few days.

The media and the Biden regime have responded by proclaiming such footage as “fake videos” doctored by conservative outlets. In the words of George Orwell, they are asking you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears.

Now, some are also trying to suggest that President Trump, not Biden, is actually the one with mental problems. Brian Tyler Cohen, an MSNBC “News” contributor and podcast host of an ironically named show called “No Lie,” decided to gaslight America by sharing a photo yesterday that he claims shows Trump being escorted off the stage.

The incident supposedly occurred during a Trump rally in Hialeah, Florida, in November 2023.

“Here is a photo of Trump having to hold someone’s hand to guide him off stage,” Cohen wrote. “I’m sure this will get just as much coverage as the daily “BiDeN oLd” story gets.”

But then a video emerged showing what actually happened. It turns out Trump was shaking hands with his eldest son, Don Jr., before exiting the stage without assistance.

If this is the best left-wingers can do to smear Trump as physically and mentally unable to handle another term as President, Americans have nothing to worry about. Biden, of course, is a far different story.

Smoking Gun Email: Burisma Owner Demanded Devon Archer Ask US Government to Stop Probe of Burisma – So Joe Biden Forced Ukraine to Fire Prosecutor

Hunter and Joe Biden golfing wit

A smoking gun email backs up Devon Archer’s previous testimony on Burisma’s pressure campaign to intervene and stop the Ukrainian prosecutor from investigating its owner Mykola Zlochevsky.

The email exchange, obtained by Just The News, came from a cache of documents Devon Archer gave to the House Oversight Committee.

“Target: Us ambassador communicates to Ukraine officials I.e. President administration formally/informally that he/U.S. government is ok with NZ, supports him and Burisma. Other U.S. High ranking officials communicate this message to President Administration. President Administration and other agencies ( general prosecutors office ) do not pursue NZ. NZ freely travels home. Ambassador Pyatt loves NZ,” Devon Archer said in a 2015 email to Blue Star Strategies general counsel Jesica Lindgren

“I think this might be a little too overt but this was the feedback below. Anyway to tone down but in operate would be useful,” Archer said Jesica Lindgren in October 2015.

Burisma’s owner demanded that Hunter’s business partner ask the US government to intervene and stop the pursuit of Burisma by Ukraine’s “President Administration and other agencies (general prosecutor’s office)”. Joe Biden then did just that.

Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s longtime friend, and Rosemont Seneca business partner who is facing one year in prison on unrelated charges, appeared before the House Oversight Committee to testify on the Biden Crime Family last July.

Devon Archer

Archer testified that Joe Biden was on more than 20 phone calls with Hunter’s business associates while he was serving as vice president.

Archer told lawmakers the ‘Biden brand’ helped Ukrainian Natural Gas Company Burisma Holdings from going bankrupt.

Devon Archer previously told lawmakers that Burisma pressured Hunter Biden to deal with the Ukrainian prosecutor investigating the company for corruption.

Recall, Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin was investigating Burisma and its CEO Mykola Zlochevsky for corruption and several homes and vehicles belonging to the oligarch were seized.

Viktor Shokin

A month later Viktor Shokin was fired after Joe Biden threatened to withhold $1 billion from Ukraine.

Joe Biden publicly bragged about bribing Ukraine with $1 billion to fire Viktor Shokin.

“I looked at him and I said: I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money. Well, son of a bitch. He got fired,” Biden said in 2018.

Shock Report: US Drug Shortage Reaches a Dangerous New High

(Note: Thank you for supporting businesses like the one presenting a sponsored message below and working with them through the links below which benefits Gateway Pundit. We appreciate your support!)

According to a shocking new report, prescription drug shortages are reaching new and dangerous levels. Per The Epoch Times,

Drug shortages are the highest in a decade, with 2023 topping the charts, according to United States Pharmacopeia’s first annual Drug Shortage Report (USP).

“The number of drug shortages has increased over a decade, with 125 active drug shortages monitored by FDA at the end of 2023. … This high number of shortages is a direct result of persistent market vulnerabilities,” the report authors wrote. “According to our analysis, over a quarter of drugs in shortage were new drug shortages (34 products) in 2023.”

These shortages are not short-term either, the report notes that the average drug shortage lasts more than three years.

Not surprisingly these drug shortages present a clear and present danger to the health of the American public:

These drug shortages indicate vulnerability in the market and affect patient care.

“Unexpected shocks can break the system and disrupt the supply of quality medicines,” Anthony Lakavage, senior vice president for Global External Affairs at USP, said in a news release. “This worrisome trajectory leads to more frequent drug shortages, prolonged scarcity, and more people at risk of not getting the medicines they need, when they need them.”

Drug Shortages Happening at the Worst Time

These prescription drug shortages aren’t happening in a vacuum – as prescription drug shortages have gotten more dire, our healthcare system has faced some truly epic challenges.

Over the last few years our healthcare system has been rocked by the COVID pandemic, dangerous experimental vaccines, government bans on safe and effective drugs, Disease X, the bird flu and the list goes on.

Mother and Brother of Connecticut Officer Killed in the Line of Duty Confront Town Leaders Who Refused to Fly Thin Blue Flag to Honor Another Fallen Officer

Debbie Gaften, mother of fallen officer Robert “Bobby” Garten, spoke to the mayor and town council of Wethersfield, Connecticut.

The Gateway Pundit reported that while the residents of Wethersfield, Connecticut, grappled with the tragedy of losing Trooper First Class Aaron Pelletier, who was killed in the line of duty, they were also confronted by obscene disrespect from town leaders.

Aaron Pelletier

Although Democrat Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont directed that state flags be flown at half-mast, Wethersfield’s Town Council refused to fly the Thin Blue Line flag to honor Pelletier and instead lowered an LGBTQ flag as an “honor.”

Yesterday, the mother and the brother of another fallen officer, Rob Garten, confronted the mayor at a public meeting about the blatant disrespect the town leaders have shown toward first responders.

Deputy Mayor Matthew Forrest spoke briefly and then Debbie Garten, the mother of Deputy Robert “Bobby” Garten, who was killed in the line of duty in September 2023, gave her emotional remarks about what the thin blue line represents to her and her family.

Robert “Bobby” Garten

Garten shared, “It was disheartening to witness the news coverage and hear the disrespectful and hurtful remarks being made by some town council members, especially as the wake and funeral for Trooper First Class Pelletier was going on.”

“The thin blue line holds a deeply personal meaning for me, as a tribute to my son’s service and sacrifice.”

“It symbolizes his honor, his strength and is a remembrance for all he stood for, representing the bond between fallen officers, their families, and the broader law enforcement community.”

Two weeks ago, during a pride event, the mayor and some members of the town council called the thin blue line flag racist and hateful.

Democratic Councilmember Emily Zambrello said, “That flag was either created or at least became prevalent in direct response to the Black Lives Matter protests. It’s viewed as antagonistic even if you don’t see it that way and I don’t think that’s a good flag to fly, especially not without further discussion.”

Deputy Garten’s brother Will stood up in the meeting and shouted at the mayor, “You didn’t say my brother’s name at all. You didn’t say my brother’s name at all.  You’re an idiot!

Will spoke to a reporter following the meeting and had strong words for the mayor.

“I thought the mayor’s speech was disgusting to not even mention my brother’s name, who has even been gone for nine months. He grew up here, and for the mayor not to speak Detective Robert “Bobby” Garten is a disgrace.”

Garten’s mother closed her statement with a request, “I formally request that the town of Wethersfield raise the police flag, either the black flag with the blue stripe or the American flag with the blue line, for two weeks in May, 2025.  The first week will be National Police Week and the following week for the Connecticut Police Memorial Ceremony.”

Is Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson Blaming Almost a Century of Democat Leadership for the ‘Systemic Racism’ Furthering the City’s Demise? (Video)

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson/Image: Video screenshot

Failed Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson seems to have found the reason that his city is a hell-hole of crime and violence.

It is all because of ‘systemic racism,’ and his recent speech places much of the blame on the city’s previous administrations.

Does the mayor know he is criticizing his own party?  The last republican mayor of the Windy City was William Hale Thompson, who left office in 1931.

Johnson made the absurd remarks at the announcement of his new chief equity officer for the task force on reparations during an event to raise the Juneteenth flag at Daley Plaza on Monday.

Johnson announced the appointment of Carla Kupe, who previously served as the first director of diversity, equity, inclusion, and compliance for the city’s inspector general, as the new head of the task force.

Kupe co-founded a law firm owned and operated by Black women and the founder and CEO of a “consulting enterprise focused on diversity, equity inclusion, and anti-racism colonialism.”

Johnson said during his remarks, “Chicago still bears the scars of systemic racism and injustices that have been inflicted on our committees.”

“We’ve seen them in highways that cut through Black neighborhoods. And the industries, of course, that flock to these neighborhoods, often contributing to increased pollution and poor health outcomes.”

“We see it in the trauma, of course, that is caused by gun violence. But we also saw it firsthand with the gross disinvestment that was intentional by previous administrations.”

“And so beautiful neighborhoods, like mine, the Austin neighborhood, has seen many health disparities.  The lack of nutritious food, the lack of employment opportunity.  The disinvestment in our communities has been intentional.”

“And of course, that is why it is imperative that is now the time to deliver good on reparations for people of Chicago, particularly Black people, the city of Chicago.”

“Because even as I stand here today as mayor, the legacy of slavery, the aftermath, still echoes today.”

“We saw it when previous administrations sold off public assets.  We saw the harm when previous administrations closed Black schools, and they shut down public housing.”

“When they raided the pensions, these anti-Black, anti-business endeavors that have caused tremendous harm and pain.”

CNBC Analyst Arrested on Federal Charges After Disappearing and Being Declared a Fugitive

After more than two and a half years on the run, federal authorities caught up with one-time fiscal guru James Arthur McDonald Jr. who was wanted on fraud charges.

Deadline described McDonald as a “perennial presence as an analyst on CNBC shows over the years.”

However, the high-profile commentator had been living under the radar since November 2021, when the initial fraud allegations against him were made, according to a U.S. Attorney’s Office, Central District of California news release.

The former Arcadia, California, resident was arrested Saturday at a residence in Port Orchard, Washington. He will eventually be returned to California to face the charges against him.

McDonald had been summoned by the Securities and Exchange Commission to address fraud allegations, but the news release said at that time his phone and email accounts were terminated and he told at least one person he planned to “vanish.”

In January 2023, a federal grand jury indicted McDonald on one count of securities fraud, one count of wire fraud, three counts of investment adviser fraud, and two counts of engaging in monetary transactions in property derived from unlawful activity.

McDonald was the CEO and chief investment officer of Hercules Investments LLC and Index Strategy Advisors Inc.

In 2020, the release said, he positioned clients’ investments to capitalize on what he expected to be a post-pandemic stock market drop. Hercules clients lost between $30 million and $40 million. According to the release, 2020 ended with clients upset about the losses.

In 2021, McDonald began raising money that the release said was spent on such things as a Porsche and designer clothes.

The SEC complaint said that in two separate schemes, “McDonald fraudulently raised approximately $5.1 million from about 23 investors and clients, misappropriating more than $1.5 million in investor money to fund his lavish lifestyle and making at least $1.4 million in Ponzi-like payments to investors.”

The complaint said that in one part of the scheme, $3.6 million was raised, but less than half was ever spent on trading.

While sending investors false statements, “McDonald also used $1 million of … investor monies to fund his extravagant lifestyle, including purchasing luxury vehicles, paying rent on his luxury home, and hundreds of thousands of dollars on personal credit card charges, as well as to pay expenses associated with operating Hercules,” the complaint said.

In a second scheme, the complaint alleged, “McDonald falsely represented” that investor funds “would be used to expand Hercules’s business, but he lied about the firm’s financial condition and failed to disclose that he had promised Hercules clients that the firm would repay earlier losses they had incurred as a result of bad trades McDonald had made in the fall of 2020.”

“McDonald also lied to the Hercules client investors telling them that their funds would be spent on Hercules business operations or be used to engage in securities trading,” the complaint said.

“In fact, McDonald commingled their funds with his personal assets, and used the money to make payments to clients and investors and pay personal expenses, including purchasing a Porsche,” the complaint said.

The news release said that if McDonald is convicted on all charges, he could face a “statutory maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison for each securities fraud and wire fraud count, up to 10 years in federal prison on the monetary transactions derived from unlawful activity count, and up to five years in federal prison on the investment adviser fraud count.”
