‘She-Hulk’ Actress Says New Law Requiring Parental Approval On Students Preferred Pronouns Are ‘Absurd,’ “That Isn’t a Parent’s Place” (Video)

There is no need to parent your own children because actors know what is best for them.

Tatiana Maslany, star of the She-Hulk series, which streams on Disney+, lashed out against the Canadian Province of Saskatchewan’s Parent’s Bill of Rights, which requires parental approval to address students by preferred pronouns, calling it “absurd” and an “overreach.”

The legislation requires parental consent for students under 16 to change their names or pronouns in school.

Maslany told local reporters, “It should not be in the control of parents how a child identifies. How a child knows them self to be. That isn’t a parent’s place – it’s an overreach.”

“It’s an overreach on the part of the provincial government to legislate that. It’s absurd.”

She continued, “Children have rights. Children are human beings who have knowledge and who know themselves and we should be taking cues from them. In so many ways, we should be taking cues from them. Listening to them, empowering them to know who they are and to name that.”

“It’s their right. It’s not the parent’s right.”

Biden: ‘I’m staying in the race. I’ll beat Donald Trump.’

In the midst of vivacious calls to step aside as the Democratic presidential nominee, President Joe Biden held a rally in Madison, Wisconsin where the president told his detractors he wasn’t going anywhere.

Biden, with the help of a teleprompter, addressed the crowd for about 20 minutes. In the president’s speech, Biden went hard after his opponent, former President Donald Trump. He openly mocked Trump for a number of claims, such as the former president’s claims that he is a “stable genius.” Unsurprisingly, Biden also went after Trump for what happened on January 6, 2021. “You can’t be pro-insurrectionist and pro-American at the same time,” Biden claimed. “This is so damn serious. You can’t love your country only when you win.”

The crescendo of the speech, however, was Biden’s unwavering commitment to staying in the race. “They’re trying to push me out of the race,” Biden said in his trademark shouty, indignant tone. The president’s voice got even louder: “Well, let me say this as clearly as I can: I’m staying in the race. I’ll beat Donald Trump.”

Big moment here: Joe Biden has added time travel to his politics repertoire, says he’s staying in the race and he’ll beat Donald Trump again in 2020. pic.twitter.com/6ueLS0HqMO

— Clay Travis (@ClayTravis) July 5, 2024

“I will beat him again in 2020,” Biden continued, before correcting himself by adding, “And by the way, we’re going to do it again in 2024.”

It was by far the most energetic Biden has seemed on the trail since last week’s presidential debate, his abysmal performance in which led to Democrats calling for Biden’s resignation. But Biden’s strong performance in Madison could be quickly forgotten if Biden’s prime time interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos looks like a repeat of last week’s debate.

“Is it Time For You to Drop Out of the Race?!” – Biden Heckled as He Boards Air Force One (VIDEO)

Joe Biden on Friday headed to Madison, Wisconsin to participate in a campaign event as the media hounds him over his disastrous debate performance.

Biden did two pre-recorded radio interviews following last week’s debate – one with Wisconsin-based WAUK and the other with Philly-based WURD.

Both interviews aired on Thursday morning ahead of his weekend events in Wisconsin and Philadelphia.

In an interview with Wisconsin-based Earl Ingram on WAUK, Biden conceded that he screwed up during last Thursday’s debate.

“I’m proud to be running for reelection as a president who’s made his promises and I’ve kept them,” Biden said to Earl Ingram.

“I had a bad night. A bad night. I screwed up,” Biden said. “But 90 minutes on stage does not erase what I’ve done for 3.5 years.”

Biden ignored reporters as he boarded Air Force One.

“Mr. President, is it time for you to drop out of the race?!” a reporter shouted as Biden shuffled along to the stairs.

Government Wants to Track Your Steak with RFID Tags

In a controversial move, the federal government, through the USDA, is proposing a new rule that would mandate RFID (radio-frequency identification) tagging of all cattle and bison crossing state lines. The aim of this rule is to enhance the tracking of livestock movements, ostensibly to improve food safety and manage disease outbreaks. However, the proposal has sparked significant concern among ranchers and privacy advocates who view it as another instance of government overreach.

The RFID tags, unlike traditional ear tags or tattoos, can be scanned from a distance, allowing for real-time tracking of livestock movements. Proponents argue that this technology will streamline the tracking process, making it easier to trace the origins of foodborne illnesses and respond more swiftly to outbreaks. This system is seen as crucial for ensuring the safety of the national food supply chain, especially in the face of increasing concerns about diseases like bovine tuberculosis and foot-and-mouth disease.

A proposed USDA rule would require RFID tagging of all cattle and bison that move across state lines. https://t.co/Iy22gMqGWq

— MCH (@MCH_Law) June 22, 2024

However, critics are not convinced. They argue that the costs associated with implementing RFID tagging are prohibitively high for small and medium-sized ranchers, potentially driving many out of business.

Additionally, there are privacy concerns about the government having the capability to track the movement of livestock in real-time, which some see as a slippery slope towards increased surveillance and control over the agricultural sector.

Mandatory RFID chips to track all cattle in the USA….for what purpose? pic.twitter.com/PdAypYvxyc

— GreatLakesLady (@GreatlakesladyM) March 8, 2024

One of the most vocal opponents of the RFID mandate is the R-CALF USA, a cattlemen’s association that represents independent cattle producers. They argue that the USDA’s proposal favors large agribusinesses that can more easily absorb the costs associated with the new technology. Bill Bullard, the CEO of R-CALF USA, stated, “This is nothing more than a means for the government to further control and monitor our industry under the guise of food safety.”

There is also a broader context of growing government surveillance that adds fuel to the opposition’s fire. The RFID proposal is seen by many as part of a larger trend of increased government intervention and monitoring, which includes everything from digital currencies to health regulations. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has previously criticized such measures, likening them to “a wolf in sheep’s clothing”. This sentiment is echoed by many in the agricultural community who fear that this could set a precedent for further invasive policies.

The USDA counters that the RFID tags will bring the U.S. in line with international standards, which could open up new markets for American beef and bison products. They also assert that the technology will lead to a more efficient and resilient food system, capable of quickly addressing any potential threats.

While the debate rages on, it is clear that the proposed RFID tagging rule is emblematic of a larger conflict between government regulatory efforts and the rights of individual farmers and ranchers. The outcome of this proposal will likely have significant implications not only for the livestock industry but also for the broader discussions about privacy, surveillance, and government overreach.

Border Crisis: The Graveyard of Dreams and Lives

The U.S.-Mexico border has tragically become a graveyard for countless migrants, highlighting the urgent need for comprehensive immigration reform. The harrowing scenes of human remains scattered across the borderlands illustrate the dire consequences of the ongoing border crisis, demanding immediate attention from policymakers.

A recent report exposes the grim reality of America’s border, where the remains of migrants are frequently discovered. The unforgiving terrain and extreme conditions of the border region have led to an alarming number of deaths. In 2022 alone, the UN Migration Agency recorded at least 686 deaths and disappearances along the border, marking it as the deadliest land migration route in the world.

The Sonoran and Chihuahuan Deserts, notorious for their harsh climates, are particularly perilous. Migrants, driven by desperation and hope for a better life, often succumb to dehydration, heatstroke, and exhaustion. The discovery of bones and bodies serves as a stark reminder of the human cost of the border crisis. Many of these deaths go unrecorded, suggesting that the true toll is even higher.

Local authorities in Texas report being overwhelmed by the crisis. Emergency services are stretched thin, responding to thousands of calls annually. The sheer volume of migrant deaths has created a logistical and humanitarian nightmare. County officials have called for federal assistance to manage the crisis, emphasizing the need for coordinated efforts to prevent further loss of life.

— EmmaBorosKidd (@EmmaBorosKidd) March 2, 2024

The border crisis has also strained local resources, with over two million migrants entering the U.S. illegally since October 2022. This unprecedented influx has pushed state and federal agencies to their limits, highlighting the urgent need for effective immigration policies and enforcement measures. The Biden administration’s handling of the crisis has faced criticism for its perceived leniency, which some argue has exacerbated the situation.

Humanitarian organizations have called for safer migration routes and better protection for migrants. However, without robust border security and clear immigration policies, these efforts may fall short. The tragic deaths at the border underscore the need for a balanced approach that addresses both humanitarian concerns and national security.

The ongoing border crisis is not just a policy issue but a moral imperative. The sight of human remains in the desert should compel lawmakers to find solutions that prevent further loss of life while securing the nation’s borders. It is a complex challenge that requires cooperation across all levels of government and society.

In conclusion, the U.S.-Mexico border crisis is a humanitarian disaster that demands urgent and decisive action. The grim scenes of migrant deaths serve as a powerful reminder of the need for comprehensive immigration reform and effective border security. As America grapples with this crisis, it must strive to protect both its borders and the lives of those seeking refuge within them.

The Fix is In: Washington State Abolishes Residency Requirement for Voter Registration

The state of Washington has effectively abolished its long-standing residency requirement for voter registration.

The decision, led by Washington Secretary of State Steve Hobbs (D) and Attorney General Bob Ferguson (D), is another attempt by Democrats to cheat on the presidential election.

The Center Square reports that through agency rulemaking, Hobbs’ office has removed a provision that has been a part of Washington’s electoral framework since the state’s original 1889 Constitution.

This move follows a consent decree earlier this year, settling a 2023 lawsuit that claimed the residency requirement violated federal law, due to a 2018 state law.

Article VI, Section 1 of the Washington Constitution mandated that a person must be a resident of the state for 30 days before the election to register to vote.

However, the Washington State Alliance for Retired Americans filed a lawsuit in November 2023, arguing that this requirement was in violation of the U.S. Voting Rights Act Amendments of 1970, which prohibits residency requirements for federal elections.

The lawsuit claimed that this “pre-election durational residency requirement” — which voters must attest to satisfying on voter registration forms — “is longer than the registration deadline and…therefore prevents voters who could otherwise lawfully register and cast ballots from doing so just because they moved into the state, county or precinct too recently.”

The plaintiff contends that Washington’s durational residency requirement disenfranchises voters who move to the state or within the state (to a new county or precinct) fewer than 30 days before Election Day.

As a result, these individuals are barred from voting in the upcoming election and cannot elect state or local officials who would represent their current residence. This regulation is crucial for maintaining the fairness of our elections and preventing voter fraud.

In response, the state Legislature passed Senate Bill 6021 in 2018, allowing voters to register as late as 8 p.m. on Election Day.

“Voter registrations submitted electronically or through the mail must be received eight days before an election for a person to be eligible to participate in that election. Voter registrations may be submitted in-person at the county auditor’s office, county elections office, or another location designated by the county auditor up to 8:00 p.m. the day of the election for a person to participate in that election. A person may update their voter registration information up to 8:00 p.m. the day of the election.”

The consent decree now states that Washington residents who have lived at a particular address for longer than 30 days no longer need to meet any durational limits to vote, while new residents still had to meet the 30-day requirement.

This decree stipulated the removal of the residency requirement not just for federal elections, but for state elections as well, unless the state imposes a new durational registration requirement by August 1, according to The Center Square.

Despite the constitutional mandate, the Secretary of State’s rulemaking session on June 25 adopted the change, eliminating the need for voters to attest to a 30-day residency. An archival capture from June 13 revealed that the SOS voter registration form had already been updated to reflect this change.

More from The Center Square:

The change has drawn criticism from some political candidates, including Dale Whittaker running for SOS as a Republican. In a post on his campaign website he wrote that “the Consent Decree is a backroom deal that bypasses the state constitution, legislature, and the citizens of Washington.

This is a power-grab by activists using the courts and willing supplicants to make wholesale changes to state election practices hoping it flies under the radar of public and legal scrutiny. The 30-day residency requirement is a constitutional mandate that cannot be disregarded, and the recent court action does just that.”

Kittitas County Auditor Bryan Elliot wrote in an email to The Center Square that “my biggest concern is the rapid implementation of this change in a Presidential Election year.

Our offices are agile, but this action has the potential to create further mistrust of the voter registration system, especially when state law and the state constitution both still contain language that is contrary to the consent decree.”

“Additionally, there are more changes needed than just updating the voter registration form, which are already provided free of charge to counties,” he wrote further.

“We will also need to update and replace our confirmation and acknowledgement notices to voters which all contain references to the 30-day residency requirement. This will be an unbudgeted expense for my county that we will need to prioritize to comply with the ruling.”
