Over a Dozen Lawmakers, Including Pelosi, to Skip Netanyahu’s Speech

Dozens of members of Congress, most of them Democrats, have announced that they will be skipping the speech of Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu before a joint session of Congress tonight. This will be Netanyahu’s fourth address before congress, which is more than any other world leader will have made, breaking the earlier record of three addresses set by Winston Churchill.

Vice President Kamala Harris will not preside over the joint session in her capacity as president of the Senate, as she will be campaigning in Indianapolis. She will be meeting with Netanyahu later in his trip.

The former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi will not be present for the speech, although she met with the families of hostages taken on October 7 this morning. “Speaker Pelosi will not be attending today’s Joint Meeting of Congress,” Ian Krager, Pelosi’s spokesman, announced in a statement.

Also absent will be Senators Patty Murray (D-WA), Dick Durbin (D-IL), Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), and Tim Kaine (D-VA). Numerous representatives, among them Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), and Jim Clyburn (D-SC). “When it comes to that joint session, I do not plan to attend it, because I’m going to treat him the same way he treated Barack Obama,” Clyburn commented.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), a libertarian, is the sole Republican to announce that he will not attend. “Today Congress will undertake political theater on behalf of the State Department” Massie said in a statement on X, later adding, “I don’t feel like being a prop so I won’t be attending.”

Radical Pro-Hamas Activists Breach Security at Watergate Hotel Where Netanyahu is Staying: Release Insects and Maggots, and Trigger Fire Alarms

Screenshot: Palestinian Youth Movement

Radical pro-Hamas activists infiltrated the Watergate Hotel last night where Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is staying during his visit to the U.S.

The activists released insects and maggots and triggered fire alarms, causing chaos and disruption throughout the hotel.

The incident occurred on the eve of what organizers have termed a “day of rage,” with thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters expected to flood Washington D.C. as Netanyahu addresses Congress over the ongoing war in Gaza, according to the BBC.

This is the Prime Minister’s first trip outside Israel since the Israel-Hamas conflict began.

The DC, Maryland, Virginia chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement claimed responsibility for the hotel disruption on their social media platforms. Their post read:

Palestine protestors manufactured chaos at the Watergate Hotel last night so that Netanyahu, Israeli Mossad agents, and the Secret Service had no peace as they continue to terrorize our people.

Mealworms and maggots (not talking about Netanyahu) were left on their banquet tables, and crickets were released on multiple floors of the hotel.

Fire alarms were triggered for over 30 minutes on multiple floors to ensure that there will be no rest before Netanyahu and Congress disgrace themselves in front of the world for failing to achieve any of their military and political objectives.

May their dreams be haunted by the death of our people and decay of their society.

There will be no peace, there will be no rest, until the war criminal’s arrest.

WATCH: Israeli PM Netanyahu Delivers Address to U.S. Congress — Netanyahu Mocks “Gays for Gaza,” Likens It to “Chickens for KFC”

Screenshot: Washington Post/Youtube

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a highly anticipated address to a joint session of the U.S. Congress today.

The speech comes at a critical juncture in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.

In the early hours of October 7th, Hamas terrorists crossed into Israeli territory, targeting multiple communities near the Gaza Strip.

Hamas terrorists, armed with automatic weapons and explosives, targeted residential areas, schools, and marketplaces, showing no regard for human life.

Israeli authorities have reported that the Iran-backed Hamas terrorists slaughtered 1,200 Jews in Israel and took another 255 Jews hostage, with many more injured. The victims include men, women, and children, many of whom were caught off guard in their homes.

Before his address, Netanyahu walked past Schumer.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasizes the importance of the US-Israel alliance in the face of Iranian-backed terrorism and the need for both countries to stand together to combat it.

He draws a parallel between the 2001 attacks on the US and the attack in Israel, stating that October 7th should be remembered as a day of infamy due to the brutality and barbarity of Hamas terrorists.

Excerpt from his speech:

“Our world is in upheaval. In the Middle East, Iran’s axis of terror confronts America, Israel, and our Arab friends. This is not a clash of civilizations; it’s a clash between barbarism and civilization. [Applause] It’s a clash between those who glorify death and those who sanctify life.

For the forces of civilization to triumph, America and Israel must stand together. [Applause] Because when we stand together, something very simple happens: we win, they lose. My friends, I came to assure you today of one thing: we will win.

Ladies and gentlemen, like December 7th, 1941, and September 11th, 2001, October 7th is a day that will forever live in infamy. It was the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah. It began as a perfect day, not a cloud in the sky. Thousands of young Israelis were celebrating at an outdoor music festival. Suddenly, at 6:29 a.m., as children were still sleeping soundly in their beds in the towns and kibbutzim next to Gaza, heaven turned into hell.

Three thousand Hamas terrorists stormed into Israel. They butchered 1,200 people from 41 countries, including 39 Americans. Proportionately, compared to our population size, that’s like twenty 9/11s in one day. These monsters raped women, beheaded men, burned babies alive, killed parents in front of their children, and children in front of their parents. They dragged 255 people, both living and dead, into the dark dungeons of Gaza. Israel has already brought home 135 of these hostages, including seven who were freed during rescue operations.”

Netanyahu also made remarks regarding the “Gays for Gaza” movement during his speech.

“It’s amazing. Absolutely amazing. Some of these protesters hold up signs proclaiming Gays for Gaza,” he said. “They might as well hold up signs saying, chickens for KFC,” he added.

“I have a message for these protesters. When the tyrants of Tehran who hang gays from cranes and murder women for not covering their hair are praising, promoting, and funding you, you have officially become Iran’s useful idiots,” Netanyahu added.

“Day of Rage”: Pro-Palestinian Protests Erupt in Washington, DC During Netanyahu’s Visit

Washington, D.C. witnessed a wave of pro-Palestinian protests on July 24, coinciding with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress. Demonstrators gathered in large numbers, voicing strong opposition to Netanyahu’s policies and Israel’s actions in Gaza. The event, dubbed a “Day of Rage,” saw many participants prepared to face arrest to make their voices heard.

The protests were sparked by Netanyahu’s speech, which came amid ongoing tensions and violence in Gaza. Demonstrators, organized by various pro-Palestinian, chanted slogans and held signs condemning what they described as Israeli apartheid and genocide. The demonstration reflected widespread anger over the high civilian casualties in Gaza and U.S. support for Israel, which has been a contentious issue among activists and human rights organizations.

— Andy Ngô (@MrAndyNgo) July 24, 2024

A significant number of protesters were young people, including many university students who have been active in the pro-Palestinian movement. Their involvement highlights the discontent among some regarding U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East. Much of the funding for these protests came from notable Democratic donors and foundations, illustrating the complex web of support and opposition within American politics.

The atmosphere in D.C. was charged, with protesters setting up encampments and engaging in heated exchanges with law enforcement. The protests were not without controversy, as accusations of antisemitism and support for terrorist groups like Hamas were raised against some of the demonstrators. Iran has been accused of funding similar protests in the past.

HAPPENING NOW: A “Day of Rage” is underway on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.

— Stars and Stripes (@starsandstripes) July 24, 2024

Inside Congress, Netanyahu’s address aimed to solidify U.S. support for Israel. He emphasized the security threats posed by Hamas and defended Israel’s military actions as necessary for national defense. However, outside, the chants and banners told a different story, one of humanitarian crisis and calls for justice for Palestinians. The contrast between the official proceedings and the street protests was stark, highlighting the divisions not just in U.S. politics, but globally, regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

These demonstrations are part of a wave of global protests against Israeli policies,. The protests in D.C. are likely to add pressure on both U.S. and Israeli leaders to address the humanitarian issues in Gaza and reconsider their approaches to the conflict. As the situation in Gaza continues to evolve, so too will the dynamics of international protest and advocacy.

In summary, Netanyahu’s visit to Washington, D.C. served as a flashpoint for pro-Palestinian activism, bringing thousands into the streets to protest against what they see as ongoing injustices.

Meanwhile Jewish hostages are still held in Gaza.

Democrat Nadler Blames President Trump For Assassination Attempt on His Life (VIDEO)

Jerrold Nadler is a despicable liar.

Democrat Rep. Nadler (NY) blamed President Trump for the assassination attempt on his life on Wednesday during a hearing with FBI Director Christopher Wray.

On July 13 President Trump was grazed in the ear after a 20-year-old gunman named Thomas Matthew Crooks climbed on a roof and took several shots at Trump and rallygoers in Butler.

— tyler hogge (@thogge) July 13, 2024

The assassination attempt happened just one week after Biden issued veiled threats to Trump.

In a phone call with Democrat donors on July 8, Biden said “it’s time to put Trump in the bullseye.”

Joe Biden also issued a veiled threat during his interview with George Stephanopoulos just one week before a gunman attempted to assassinate President Trump.

Biden has repeatedly threatened Trump, referred to him as a dictator and spread hoaxes (‘Bloodbath,’ ‘very fine people,’ ‘suckers and losers’) about the former president.

But Nadler blamed Trump after the Secret Service allowed a gunman to take 8 shots at him from an elevated position.

“Donald Trump has quote warned there would be a ‘bloodbath’ if he loses,” Nadler said in his opening statement.

This is a lie.

Trump never said there would be a ‘bloodbath’ in the context in which Nadler is referring.

The SEC’s Climate Disclosure Rule Is a Dark Cloud Over Energy Abundance

Real Clear Wire

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) climate disclosure rule posts real problems for public companies. The SEC’s mission is to do facilitate capital formation and maintain market efficiency, but for the first time in its 90-year history, the SEC has injected political risk factors into its traditionally principles-based disclosure framework.

Leading up to the new rule, the SEC buckled under pressure from left-wing special interests to impose the first environmental disclosure mandate on public companies. If the SEC’s final rule is allowed to go into effect by the courts, it will be a financial disaster for the public markets.

My latest policy report illustrates many of the ways that U.S. firms will suffer under the SEC’s climate rule. The report was published on the same day the RealClearFoundation hosted its 2024 Energy Future Forum, where the SEC’s excessive overreach on climate policy was a point of contention.

The climate rule will require most large and mid-sized public firms to report annual and quarterly disclosures that account for an endless range of climate risk factors. This translates to approximately 3,488 firms spending upwards of $628 million on direct disclosure costs and millions on indirect costs.

Consequentially, firms will need to expend great resources hiring climate scientists, ESG experts, lawyers, and accountants to properly prepare their disclosures for SEC review, neglecting the time normally spent on enhancing their market value.

Corporate boards will lose much of their discretionary decision making, forced to prioritize environmental risk factors over purely financial concerns. In its place, corporate boards must infuse speculative climate science to determine which climate risks warrant inclusion in their SEC disclosure.

With the SEC’s 12 new climate disclosure categories, investors will be spammed with a flood of confusing and potentially contradictory environmental data. This will undermine the ability of investors to navigate the actual meaningful risks in the markets or assess the health of a company. The doom and gloom of climate risks will imperil sensible financial analysis.

But now the SEC has run headlong into a hostile legal environment, facing multiple lawsuits from a host of disgruntled organizations and concerned investors seeking to prevent the rule’s implementation. As many as 25 state attorneys general have pursued two lawsuits against the SEC for exceeding its statutory authority and violating the major questions doctrine by promulgating climate regulation.

The Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals was chosen by the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to consolidate nine challenges into one case against the SEC. Soon after, the SEC halted the rule’s implantation to fend off its legal challenges.

The SEC is in the unenviable position of  trying to defend the indefensible.

The SEC lacks any legislative authority to enforce its climate disclosure rule. In 1976, the SEC provided minimal updates to corporate disclosure requirements to reflect new environmental laws like the 1969 National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). This was so that companies could adhere to NEPA’s standards in their annual SEC filings and report executive expenditures.

This is in stark contrast with today’s climate rule, which was imposed with no proper regard to the democratic will of Congress.

Proponents of the climate rule rely on loose interpretations of Section 12 of the Securities Act of 1934 and Section 7 of the Securities Act of 1933 to wrongfully assume that Congress granted it broad authority for setting disclosure criteria.

RealClearFoundation’s Energy recent Future Forum challenged the financial shakiness and investor detriment posed by ESG disclosures like the SEC’s.

During the “capital (mis)allocation” session featuring Terrence Keeley (see the video linked at top to see his part), Chairman and CEO of 1PointSix, he raised the issue over how the SEC’s rule is backdoor environmental activism writ large. Mandatory climate disclosures represent an undemocratic form of ESG policymaking that neither Congress nor the U.S. electorate actually approved.

“There are a number of decisions that society needs to make in regard to the environment. Those things need to be made democratically,” Keeley said, “not by some self-appointed elite at the Securities and ‘Emissions’ Commission that has decided in a backway [manner] that we’ve got to do this about Scope 3 emissions. That’s just not the way to make decisions. And it’s going to unfortunately be a road to less abundance, less energy independence, and less energy cleanliness ultimately.”

In response to the notion of the SEC’s serving the best interest of investors by forcing companies to disclose their climate risks, Keeley mentions that most ESG fund disclosures do not justify their purpose or meet their environmental impact. The SEC’s rule would do nothing to rectify the lack of positive environmental impact emanating from ESG funds or ESG-oriented companies.

“None of them [ESG funds] make any claim to have any impact,” Keeley asserts. “All it is trying to do is beat the MSCI index, which by itself, was created to further this ESG industrial complex. And it’s not achieving its goals.”

Keeley and I both make clear that the SEC’s rule will artificially infuse environmental consciousness into the corporate board’s decisions. This undermines their discretion to conduct proper risk management for the company.

Additionally, the greenhouse gas disclosure will provide ample informational ammunition to climate activists, who will use this as leverage to “coerce them into adopting costly decarbonization targets,” Keeley explains.

The SEC’s finalized climate disclosure rule represents the greatest regulatory detriment to corporate freedom in the agency’s history. If the rule were to survive litigation or congressional intervention, many investors would suffer from lower returns and higher prices for goods and services. The last thing investors need is costly climate disclosure spam masquerading as corporate transparency.

FBI Director Christopher Wray Says Trump Shooter Looked Up JFK Assassination on Day He Registered for Trump’s Rally

FBI Director Christopher Wray revealed Trump rally shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks looked up the JFK assassination on the day he registered to attend Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Wray, while testifying before the House Judiciary Committee, stated, “Analysis of a laptop that the investigation ties to the shooter reveals that on July 6th, he did a Google search for, quote, ‘how far away was Oswald from Kennedy?”

Wray continued, “And so that’s a search that obviously is significant in terms of his state of mind.”

“That is the same day that it appears that he registered for the Butler rally,” added Wray.

Per Fox News:

FBI Director Christopher Wray says the investigation into Trump rally shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks has uncovered that he searched about the JFK assassination on the day he registered to attend Trump’s July 13 campaign event in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“One of the things that I can share here today that has not been shared yet is that we’ve just in the last couple of days, found that from our… analysis of a laptop that the investigation ties to the shooter, reveals that on July 6th, he did a Google search for, quote, ‘how far away was Oswald from Kennedy?

And so that’s a search that obviously is significant in terms of his state of mind,” Wray said. “That is the same day that it appears that he registered for the Butler rally.”

It was previously reported by the New York Post that Crooks’ final search on the inter was pornography.

Fatah and Hamas Sign China-Brokered ‘Unity Deal’

The two largest rival Palestinian factions, Hamas and Fatah, agreed Thursday at Beijing to form a unity government together. Twelve smaller Palestinian factions also signed the deal.

The summit was hosted and brokered by China, with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi present for the talks. “An agreement has been reached on post-Gaza war governance and the establishment of a provisional national reconciliation government,” Wang stated.

Ismail Haniyeh, Hamas’s political leader, and Mahmoud al-Aloul, the deputy head of Fatah, both took part in the talks. Haniyeh’s presence is especially noteworthy as he was one of those issued an arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in May along with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Beijing is not party to the ICC.

The unity deal contains four main parts: the creation of a provisional unity government, the establishment of a unified Palestinian leadership before the next legislative election, a free and fair legislative election, and a declaration of unity in the midst of the current conflict.

The agreement is aimed at preserving Palestinian rule in Gaza following the current conflict, precluding any separate deal whereby a single faction would work with Israel.

Hamas and Fatah, though historically rivals, have signed unity agreements in the past at Cairo in 2011 and at Algiers in 2022, though neither agreement was ever implemented.

It is unclear what immediate effect the scheme has, or whether it will be implemented. Israel’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz released a statement following the deal saying that “in reality this [joint control of Gaza and the West Bank] won’t happen because Hamas’s rule will be crushed and Abbas will be watching Gaza from afar.”
