Joy Reid of MSNBC is either incredibly desperate or completely insane. Maybe both.

Today, Reid suggested that if Biden survives his current case of COVID, that it’s just like Trump surviving an assassination attempt where someone nearly blew his brains out with a gun.

Are the people who run MSNBC capable of feeling shame or embarrassment?

NewsBusters has details:

Reid swerved into a conspiracy theory territory when she seemed to hint that the shooting was staged because of the so-called “photo-op” on stage. “Donald Trump is an elderly man who, for whatever reason, was given nine seconds to take a photo-op during an active shooter situation. Weird situation, we’ll figure that out one day,” she speculated.

She proceeded to whine that Trump’s “survival of that and bouncing right back and going right to his convention is being conveyed in the media world as a sign of strength.” That comment was followed up with her insane suggestion that Biden recovering from a bug 99 percent of people survived was somehow on par with surviving getting shot in the head with a bullet:

This current president of the United States is 81 years old and has COVID, should he be fine in a couple of days, doesn’t that convey exactly the same thing? That he’s strong enough – older than Trump – to have gotten something that used to really be fatal to people his age. So, if he does fine out of it and comes back and is able to do rallies, isn’t that exactly the same?

“It should,” former Biden flack Jen Psaki agreed. “It should.”

At the Republican National Convention on Wednesday, Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND) expressed his confidence that Donald Trump will make America energy dominant again.

“Biden’s war on energy hurts every American,” the former presidential candidate said. “Biden’s green agenda feels like it was written by China, Russia, and Iran.”

“Four more years of Joe will usher America into Biden brownouts and blackouts,” he declared.

“Energy dominance will be the big stick that President Trump will carry,” he continued. “Instead of buying energy from our enemies, we will be selling energy to our allies under a second Trump administration.”

“President Trump champions innovation over regulation,” Burgum said. “He’ll let all of you keep driving your gas-powered cars.”

Trent Conaway, the Mayor of East Palestine, Ohio, the site of a toxic train derailment a few years ago, spoke at the Republican National Convention tonight and bashed the Biden administration for abandoning the people of his town after the disaster.

Conaway noted that Donald Trump was there right away with supplies of fresh drinking water. He talked about how Trump shared a meal with first responders at McDonald’s and how Trump showed real leadership when the people of his community needed it most.

He concluded his remarks by saying, “We need a leader who values small-town communities as much as big cities. We need a President who loves ALL Americans. We need Donald J. Trump.”

The disaster in East Palestine was a tragedy for the residents and a test of leadership for the Biden administration. Biden failed that test. Trump passed the test, even though he had no obligation to do so.

Joe Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan led directly to the deaths of 13 American service members, yet he has never acknowledged tham by name.

Tonight at the Republican National Convention, the parents of one soldier decided to do just that. They said the names of each service member who was killed and called out the Biden administration for forgetting these men and women.

This was an amazing moment.

An emergency room patient at Butler Memorial Hospital in Butler, Pennsylvania captured the moment President Trump arrived at the medical facility following an assassination attempt.

“Oh my God! Oh Jesus!” one ER patient said as she heard Trump had blood coming out of his head.

“There he is! There he is! Oh thank God! He’s walking! He’s walking!” they said as Trump walked into the hospital.

Notice the female secret service agent struggling with her gun holster again.

A bullet grazed President Trump’s ear on Saturday during his Pennsylvania rally. One rallygoer was fatally struck in the head. Two other rally attendees were wounded, one critically.

The would-be assassin, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was able to climb on top of a roof next to Trump’s Butler, Pennsylvania rally and put Trump in his scope.

Trump defied death and raised his fist shouting, “Fight! Fight! Fight!” as Secret Service agents escorted him to safety.

Trump was escorted to his motorcade and taken to the hospital.

Mere hours after being released from prison, Peter Navarro, the director of the Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy under the former President Donald Trump, lambasted political prosecutions in his Wednesday speech to the Republican National Convention.

“This morning I did walk out of a Federal prison in Miami,” said Navarro, who was convicted of contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a January 6 committee subpoena. “Joe Biden and his Department of Injustice put me there.”

“I’ve got a very simple message for you: If they can come for me, if they can come for Donald Trump, be careful, because they can come for you,” he said. “If we don’t control our government, their government will control us. If we don’t control all three branches of our government—legislative, executive, judicial—their government will put some of us like me and Steve Bannon in prison and control the rest of us.”

“What these lawfare jackals don’t understand: When they put people like me in prison, and fire figurative and now literal bullets at Donald Trump, they also assault our families,” Navarro declared as his wife walked on stage to hug him. “On Election Day, Americans will hold these lawfare jackals accountable. Now here’s the sweetest thing that’s going to come off my lips: vote Trump-Vance in ’24 for Trump 47.”

Joe Biden has accused billionaire business mogul Elon Musk of trying to “buy” the result of November’s presidential election.

In what was obviously intended as a social media stunt following his latest COVID diagnosis, Biden started out by announcing on the X platform that he was “sick” before following up that his sickness was with Elon Musk.

“I’m sick… of Elon Musk and his rich buddies trying to buy this election,” he wrote. “And if you agree, pitch in here.”

The fundraising plea comes after reports that Musk would donate $45 million a month to a pro-Trump super PAC, having publicly endorsed his candidacy following the failed assassination attempt against him.

Also complaining about Musk’s influence is socialist Senator Bernie Sanders, who claimed his donations risked killing off American democracy.

“Elon Musk, the world’s richest person, is donating $45 million a month to the Trump campaign,” he wrote. “If democracy is to survive in the US, we need to overturn Citizens United and move to public funding of elections. We need a government that represents all, not just billionaires.”

Such complaints are deeply ironic given that Biden and the Democratic Party are largely funded by billionaire donors including LinkedIn founder Reed Hoffman, businessman Michael Bloomberg and the investor George Soros.

Some of the richest Republican donors include the physician Miriam Adelson, the businessman Marc Andreessen and the founder of Home Depot Bernie Marcus.

According to CNN, Joe Biden is “being receptive” to calls for him to step aside and allow Kamala Harris to replace him.

CNN dropped this new report after Biden announced he is canceling his campaign event in Las Vegas because he has Covid.

A leftist activist has been arrested for burning down a gun shop owned by Cornel Rasor, a Republican candidate for the Idaho State House of Representatives, on the Fourth of July.

The activist, Jennifer S. Meyer, is accused of burning down Cornel Rasor’s Army Surplus Store in Sandpoint, prompting celebrations from her fellow leftists.

Meyer has reportedly made signs for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and a local arts commission.

It appears the fire that consumed Cornell Razor’s Army Surplus store (located just 1 block away from where Sandpoint Pride is held) was ARSON, not a “stray firework.”

The Idaho Tribune reports that when police executed a search warrant on her house on Tuesday evening, they found “$1,000 cash, $1,200 of dollars worth of silver, a 9mm gun, car titles, birth certificates, college transcripts, and passports, indicating that Meyer may have been intending to flee the country.”

That causes a huge, huge risk to the public,” the Tribune quoted the prosecuting attorney saying.

Meyer’s bail has been set at $1 million.

The Post Millenial reports, “Store owner Cornel Rasor is running as a Republican for the Idaho House of Representatives District 1. He managed the Army Surplus store for 41 years and has owned it for the past two years. Rasor previously served as the county commissioner in Bonner County for four years. The candidate describes himself as a Christian conservative who is running on a conservative platform. He has three adult children and 16 grandchildren, according to his campaign website.”
