At least two Republican senators are demanding Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resign following Wednesday’s briefing on the assassination attempt on President Trump where it was revealed the Secret Service was aware of a threat ten minutes before a would=be assassin fired at Trump’s head, yet Trump was allowed to go on stage at Saturday’s rally in Butler, PA. Trump was miraculously only hit in his ear. However, one supporter was killed and two wounded in the attack on Trump by 20-year-old Thomas Crooks. (UPDATE at end: ABC reports Secret Service snipers saw Crooks on the roof twenty minutes before the shooting.)

Cheatle admitted to senators there were “mistakes and gaps” in the Secret Service protection of the Trump rally, reported Juliegrace Brufke of Axios, “the Secret Service is responsible for a no fail mission. This assassination attempt was a failure. I acknowledge that there were mistakes and gaps.”

Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) told Hasnie Crooks was IDed as suspicious over an hour before the shooting, “He was identified as a as a character of suspicion, because of saw a rangefinder as well as a backpack. And this was over an hour before the shooting actually occurred.”

NBC News reported on the briefing, saying Crooks had visited the rally site several days before (excerpt):

The 20-year-old who shot at Trump on Saturday visited the site of the former president’s rally days ahead of the event to scope out the area, two sources familiar with today’s Senate briefing told NBC News.

Crooks was photographed as a suspicious person 62 minutes before he opened fire, and snipers spotted him 20 minutes before the shooting, the sources said.

NBC also reported Eric Trump said Cheatle should resign.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell called for new leadership for the Secret Service, “Last week’s near-assassination of former President Trump was a grave attack on American democracy. Law enforcement officials investigating the assassination attempt on Donald Trump told lawmakers Wednesday that 20 minutes passed between the time U.S. Secret Service snipers first spotted the gunman on a rooftop and the time shots were fired at the former president, according to several law enforcement officials and lawmakers briefed on the matter.

Officials said the snipers spotted the suspect, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, on the roof of a building outside the security zone at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, at 5:52 p.m. ET. The shooting happened at 6:12 p.m. ET, 20 minutes later, the sources said.

According to the sources, the timeline presented in the briefing was as follows:

5:10 p.m. Crooks was first identified as a person of interest
5:30 p.m. Crooks was spotted with a rangefinder
5:52 p.m. Crooks was spotted on the roof by Secret Service
6:02 p.m. Trump takes the stage
6:12 p.m. Crooks fires first shots

From the time Crooks fired his first shot to the gunman being killed was just 26 seconds, according to law enforcement officials. Eleven seconds after the first shot, Secret Service counter snipers acquired their target — and 15 seconds after that, Crooks was shot dead.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) reportedly told President Joe Biden in a private one-on-one meeting on Saturday that he should end his reelection campaign, according to ABC News.

ABC’s Jonathan Karl said in a TV interview on Wednesday, “Schumer forcefully made the case that it would be better for Biden, better for the Democratic party, and better for the country if he were to bow out of the race.”

After requesting comment, Schumer’s office told Karl, “Leader Schumer conveyed the views of his caucus.”

He added that he has been told House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) has also “expressed similar views directly to the president.”

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) touted policies to “drain the swamp” such as campaign finance reform and term limits for Congress during his Wednesday speech at the Republican National Convention.

“The swamp draining will re-commence soon, and I will be President Trump’s strongest ally in Congress to pass term limits, to stop taxpayer funding for political campaigns, to ban members of Congress for life from becoming lobbyists—and for the same reasons you don’t let the referee bet on the game, to ban members of Congress from trading individual stocks,” Gaetz said.

The Floridian disavowed any involvement with such activities. “I’m proud to stand before you; the only Republican in Congress who takes no lobbyist money, no PAC money; it’s not good for me. I work for you, not them,” he said.

Gaetz strongly endorsed the Trump-Vance ticket, saying that Vance “looks like a young Abraham Lincoln, but he’s from Ohio like General Grant, and like General Grant, JD knows how to fight.” 

“We ride or die with Donald John Trump to the end,” Gaetz concluded.

81-yearold Joe Biden was seen struggling to climb the short stairs boarding Air Force One in Las Vegas after he canceled a speech due to his testing positive for COVID. The White House said Biden would be flying to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware to recuperate.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre issued a statement on the multi-vaxxed Biden having COVID, again. along with a statement from “the President’s Doctor”:

Earlier today following his first event in Las Vegas, President Biden tested positive for COVID-19. He is vaccinated and boosted and he is experiencing mild symptoms. He will be returning to Delaware where he will self-isolate and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time. The President presented this afternoon with upper respiratory symptoms, to include rhinorhea (runny nose) and non-productive cough, with general mailaise. Given this, the President will be self-isolating in accordance with CDC guidance for symptomatic individuals. PCR confirmation testing will be pending. He will be self-isolating at his home in Rehoboth.

Biden’s COVID diagnosis came a day after an interview in which he said he might leave the presidential race, where he is trailing President Trump, if he were told he had a ‘medical condition.’

The View co-host Ana Navarro called CNN and said Biden was having symptoms and feeling “under the weather.”

The White House issued a statement saying that he is being treated with Paxlovid.

“He is vaccinated and boosted and he is experiencing mild symptoms. He will be returning to Delaware where he will self-isolate and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time,” the White House said.

The president’s doctor said he is experiencing upper respiratory symptoms, including a runny nose and cough.

As I look out at this convention, I see a party that is strong and unified behind President Donald J. Trump, and his pick for Vice President, Senator J.D. Vance.

And what about the Democrats?

They’re in disarray after shielding President Biden from a vigorous primary and gaslighting the entire country about his fitness to serve.

We still don’t know which puppet Democrat Party bosses will install as their nominee, but we know what their agenda will be: four more years of chaos and failure, both at home and abroad.

In my hometown of San Francisco, Democrat rule has turned the streets of our beautiful city into a cesspool of crime, homeless encampments, and open drug use.

Democrats—led by Border Czar Kamala Harris—have allowed millions of illegal migrants to invade our country. They tasked Homeland Security not with stopping the illegal aliens, but with busing them all over our country.

Democrats have recklessly spent trillions of dollars on wasteful and unnecessary government programs, setting off the worst inflation since Jimmy Carter.

But worst of all, the Biden-Harris administration has taken a world that was at peace under President Trump, and they lit it on fire.

First, President Biden botched the Afghanistan withdrawal, displaying incompetence and weakness for the whole world to see.

Then, he provoked—yes, provoked—the Russians to invade Ukraine with talk of NATO expansion. Afterward, he rejected every opportunity for peace in Ukraine, including a deal to end the war just two months after it broke out.

Now the war is deep into its third year, with no end in sight. Hundreds of thousands of people are dead. Hundreds of billions of our taxpayer dollars have gone up in smoke.

President Biden sold us this new Forever War by promising it would weaken Russia and strengthen America. Well, how does that look today? Russia’s military is bigger than before, while our own stockpiles are dangerously depleted.

Every day, there are new calls for escalation, and the world looks on in horror as Joe Biden’s demented policy takes us to the brink of World War III.

In the Middle East, America is now losing a war with the Houthis. And the administration’s policy towards Gaza has been so incoherent that the only thing that pro-Israel and pro-Palestine protesters agree on is the chant “eff Joe Biden.”

Rather than bolstering confidence in American leadership, as he promised, President Biden has become the symbol of an America in decline.

This may be our present, but it does not have to be our future.

We can replace the Biden-Harris cabal with a president who is strong and smart rather than sleepy and senile, or in her case, clueless and embarrassing.

A president who understands that you build the most powerful military in the world to keep America safe, not to play the world’s policeman.

A president who is willing to talk to adversaries, as well as friends, because that is the only way to make peace.

A president who will stand up to the warmongers, instead of empowering them.

My fellow Americans, we need a leader who commands respect and demands reciprocity from other nations.

We need strength and savviness in the White House Situation Room—even if the crisis hits after Biden’s bedtime.

We need a president who can be president and lead, not a puppet controlled by his or her staff.

We need order in our cities, order at our border, and order restored to a world on fire.

My friends, we need President Donald J. Trump back in the White House.

Butler Township Town Manager Tom Knights spoke to the media and issued a statement Wednesday afternoon on the contact one of their police officers had with Thomas Crooks, the would-be assassin of President Trump on Saturday, saying the officers involved had radioed a warning on a “blanket tactical channel” about the gunman.

Knight’s statement explained that the only role assigned to local police that day was for traffic control for the arrival and departure of Trump’s motorcade at his rally being held at the Butler Farm Show venue.

Several officers broke away from the post after Trump’s arrival around 6 p.m. to respond to a report of a suspicious man at the AGR building near the rally site. The officers did not find a ladder in a perimeter search nor see the suspect until one officer was hoisted up by the other so he could grab hold of the edge of the roof and peer over. Crooks pointed his rifle at the officer, who dropped back as he was unable to defend himself. Upon hitting the ground from the eight foot drop, both officers radioed in there was a gunman on the roof. An undefined “moments later”, Crooks started firing at Trump, wounding his right ear but killing one attendee and wounding two others near the stage.

Apparently no call went out in response to get Trump off the stage as Secret Service agents did not act to protect Trump until shots rang out and he fell to the stage after being hit and nearly killed by a headshot that miraculously only hit his ear.

Earlier Wednesday, the Washington Post reported Butler Township had told the Secret Service it could not police the AGR building (excerpt via The Hill):

Ahead of former President Trump’s rally on Saturday, local police informed the Secret Service that they didn’t have the manpower to station a patrol car outside the building a gunman later climbed to shoot at the presidential candidate, The Washington Post reported.

District Attorney Richard Goldinger of Butler County, Pa., the town where the Trump rally took place, said the Secret Service “was informed that the local police department did not have manpower to assist with securing that building.”

The Post had Goldinger’s account confirmed by a Secret Service official familiar with the incident.

The Secret Service official told the outlet the agency considered placing an officer outside the building to mitigate the chance that a shooter gets a clear line of sight on Trump via higher ground. The agency prepares for such a scenario at all public events.

…The Secret Service agent told the Post that there had been a proposal in advance planning to station a patrol car and officer outside the building complex, which had a large roof about 150 yards away from where Trump was standing.

Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle earlier this week said no agent had been placed on the building out of safety because it had a “sloped roof.”

As Gateway Pundit readers know, President Trump on Monday selected Ohio Senator J.D. Vance as his running mate. The Biden campaign responded to the announcement in predictable disgusting fashion.

Kamala Harris, who herself insulted Vance, agreed to three possible dates for a VP debate. A Biden campaign official released the following statement:

On May 16, Vice President Harris accepted the very first invitation we received from a television network to host a Vice Presidential Debate. She agreed at that time to participate in a CBS-hosted debate on either Tuesday, July 23 or Tuesday, August 13.

When asked about a potential debate with Harris, senior Trump campaign advisor Brian Hughes authored this savage and funny statement in response:

“We don’t know who the Democrat nominee for Vice President is going to be, so we can’t lock in a date before their convention,” senior Trump campaign adviser Brian Hughes said in a statement. “To do so would be unfair to Gavin Newsom, JB Pritzker, Gretchen Whitmer, or whoever Kamala Harris picks as her running mate.”

Great campaigns always seek ways to stay on offense and ensure news cycles that benefit their candidate. In this case, they are focusing on the chaotic Biden campaign, whose candidate refuses to depart the race despite a divided party and garbage poll numbers.

An illegal alien brutally attacked a woman in Broward County, Florida last Thursday with a machete and possibly a second weapon.

The illegal pinned down the victim and repeatedly stabbed her with a machete.

According to reports, the victim lost a lot of blood and underwent several surgeries to have a 3-inch blade removed from her chest cavity.

Cell phone video showed the chaos unfolding as police arrived to the victim’s residence.

A police officer tackled the illegal alien as another man kicked him in the head.

Neighbors said they heard a woman screaming and they called 911 for help.

The illegal was charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Democrat leaders Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries are now working behind the scenes to sabotage Joe Biden.

According to Axios, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries quietly convinced the DNC to delay its presidential nomination vote.

Nearly two dozen Democrat lawmakers have called for Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 race following his disastrous debate performance.

The rebellion took a back seat for a few days after a bullet grazed Trump’s ear at a Pennsylvania rally on Saturday.

It’s back to the drawing board for the Democrats.

The Democrats successfully sabotaged Joe Biden and put a stop to the DNC’s plan for an early ‘virtual roll call.’

The DNC scheduled a virtual roll call as early as July 21 to nominate Joe Biden before the convention in Chicago in response to Ohio’s ballot access rules.

Congressional Democrats this week circulated a letter addressed to the DNC. They argued that there is no legal justification for an early virtual roll call because the Ohio legislature changed the ballot rules to accommodate Joe Biden.

The Democrats want to leave room for ‘debate’ before the DNC Convention in August.

The Democrat National Committee said Wednesday they won’t hold their virtual roll call vote before August which leaves room for a coup.

Read between the lines: They want to replace Joe Biden and they may succeed!

The 2024 DNC convention will be held in Chicago from August 19 to August 22.
