A group of European scientists calls for nations to ban boiling live crabs after discovering that crustaceans feel pain when boiled.

Scientists from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden have discovered that pain stimuli are sent to crustaceans’ brains during the boiling process.

PhD student Eleftherios Kasiouras shared, “We believe that boiling crustaceans alive should be banned, and other techniques, such as electro stunning, should be applied the moment that the crustaceans are caught.”

“There is more and more evidence emerging, including our research, that decapods [crabs] experience pain so we should treat them as we would treat other animals,” added Kasiouras.

Bringing a nice little storm cloud to rain all over your next summer seafood boil are these scientists, who have now declared that it’s cruel to boil live shellfish like crabs and lobsters because, they say they’ve recently learned, these little bottom-skitterers can feel pain, meaning they don’t appreciate being roasted alive next to your potatoes and corn on the cob.

In fact, the group of zoologists from the University of Gothenburg – which is in Sweden, not that you care – have called for an immediate ban on the practice.

Lead author and PhD student Eleftherios Kasiouras told the DailyMailOnline, “We believe that the boiling crustaceans alive should be banned and other techniques such as electro stunning should be applied the moment that the crustaceans are caught.

Co-author of the research Lynne Sneddon added, “We need to find less painful ways to kill shellfish if we are to continue eating them. Because now we have scientific evidence that they both experience and react to pain.”

One of America’s ugliest buildings will soon be named after former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

The San Francisco Federal Building, a 70-meter-tall, 18-story structure located in the city’s South of Market neighborhood, will next week be unveiled at an official ceremony as the Speaker Nancy Pelosi Federal Building.

Bay News reports:

Opened in 2007, the building houses offices for Pelosi along with the Social Security Administration, U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, U.S. Department of Agriculture and U.S. Department of Transportation.

Pelosi has represented California’s 11th Congressional District for 37 years. In 2007, she was elected the first woman to serve as speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.

The U.S. General Services Administration, the building’s landlord, describes the structure as an architectural landmark in San Francisco.

“The building’s shape and orientation maximize natural airflow for cooling and ventilation and take advantage of natural daylight for the majority of office interiors,” according to the GSA.

The honor bestowed to Pelosi is presumably an award for the nearly three decades she has represented the city of San Francisco in Congress, including two four-year stints as Speaker of the House.

However, the structure has long been ridiculed as an architectural monstrosity, including by Pelosi’s political nemesis Donald Trump.

In fact, Trump even issued an executive order back in 2020 which singled out the building as one of the ugliest in the whole of San Francisco.

The decree, titled “Executive Order on Promoting Beautiful Federal Civic Architecture,” sought to promote classic architecture rather than the modern designs that so many people dislike.

“[The General Services Administration] selected an architect to design the San Francisco Federal Building who describes his designs as ‘art-for-art’s-sake’ architecture, intended primarily for architects to appreciate,” the executive order reads.

“While elite architects praised the resulting building, many San Franciscans consider it one of the ugliest structures in their city,” it continued.

The executive order was rescinded soon after the Biden regime took office. It remains to be seen what Trump has in store for promoting architectural beauty in his second administration.

President Donald Trump has announced the nomination of Charles Kushner, father of former senior White House advisor and his son-in-law Jared Kushner, as the next U.S. Ambassador to France.

The announcement came through a post on Truth Social, where Trump hailed Kushner as a “tremendous business leader, philanthropist, and dealmaker.”

​Charles Kushner is a prominent American real estate developer and former attorney known for both his successful business ventures and his legal troubles.

In 2005, Charles Kushner was convicted of illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion, and witness tampering, charges that stemmed partly from hiring a prostitute to entrap a witness.

As a result, he served a prison sentence and was disbarred from practicing law in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. His legal woes culminated in a pardon granted by former President Donald Trump in 2020.

Despite these setbacks, Charles Kushner has remained an active philanthropist, contributing to various educational and medical institutions.

His donations have led to several facilities being named in his honor, including buildings at Hofstra University and the Shaare Zedek Medical Center. Additionally, Kushner has served on the boards of several prestigious institutions.

Ellen DeGeneres’s mansion in the United Kingdom has flooded just weeks after the former talk show host announced she left the United States following President Trump’s election victory.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi recently purchased a multi-million dollar property in Cotswolds, UK, and are determined to stay there through Trump’s second term.

On Friday, the 43-acre property flooded after a tributary of the River of Thames flooded after Storm Bert hit the Cotswolds region.

Images of Ellens’ property show her estate flooded with several feet of water.

Ellen’s house was not the only property impacted in the Cotswolds region.

The Daily Mail reported that several residents in the Cotswolds region have been stranded in their homes due to flood waters reaching nearly 5 feet.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s English farmhouse has flooded following torrential rain, a bombshell new report claims.

The couple recently purchased a multi-million pound property in the Cotswolds, about two hours outside of London, and are allegedly attempting to settle there permanently following Donald Trump’s election win.

But the 43-acre grounds are now underwater after the River Thames broke its banks in the wake of Storm Bert, the Daily Mail reports.

Numerous roads in the Cotswolds have been left impassable after being saturated in five feet of water.

This isn’t the first time one of Ellen’s properties has been damaged by extreme weather.

Ellen’s mansion in Montecito, California, was in danger of flooding last year after a storm caused her creek to rise nearly 9 feet behind her house.

One of the lone pro-Trump voices on CNN, Scott Jennings, has announced he has landed a new position with the Los Angeles Times.

Jennings has accepted an offer to join the editorial board of the LA Times, which will not conflict with any of his obligations to CNN.

In a post on X, Jenning said, “It’s true—I’ve accepted Dr. Parick Soon Shiong’s invitation to join the editorial board of the LA Times.”

Jennings added, “I plan to represent those Americans who believe they are often ignored or even ridiculed in legacy media and applaud Dr. Soon-Shiong’s move to bring balance to the editorial board.”

Jennings’s big announcement comes as Los Angeles Times owner Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong revealed last month that he wanted to make the newspaper more balanced.

In the 2024 presidential election, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, the owner of the Los Angeles Times, called for the news outlet not to make any endorsements, which sparked resignations among liberal journalists who wanted the outlet to endorse Kamala Harris.

Conservative CNN political commentator Scott Jennings confirmed through a post on social media Friday that he is joining the Los Angeles Times editorial board.

The move comes as the newspaper’s owner, Patrick Soon-Shiong, vowed to do a complete overhaul of the outlet ensuring that a clear distinction exists between reporting and editorials. Jennings became a contributing columnist for the Los Angeles Times in 2019. He joined CNN as a contributor in 2017 and was an aide to former President George W. Bush.

“I’ve written columns for the paper over the last few years and was honored to do so under such a storied and important masthead,” Jennings wrote on X. “I love newspapers and believe in strong journalism and strong opinion pages that represent a wide array of views.”

Jennings continued, “I approach my commentary jobs by starting with the truth and then providing my honest opinion based on my conservative values and experience. I think Dr Soon-Shiong is doing something important and groundbreaking and am honored he asked me to play a role in that.”

Actor George Clooney was a key participant in the coup to push Joe Biden out of the 2024 election.

Radar Online reports that Clooney is now said to have expressed outrage at “being manipulated by former President Barack Obama into lobbying for Kamala Harris.”

Following Biden’s disastrous June debate performance, Clooney kicked off the calls to put old Joe out to pasture with a column for the New York Times demanding that he step aside.

He wrote for The Times, “We are not going to win in November with this president.”

He continued, “This isn’t only my opinion; this is the opinion of every senator and Congress member and governor who I’ve spoken with in private.”

After Clooney’s column, the chorus calling for Biden to step aside became more vocal.

But, after Kamala Harris’s embarrassing loss to President Donald Trump, he has faced backlash from liberals for his key role in the ouster, and he isn’t happy with Barack.

A political mole told RadarOnline.com it was Obama who urged Clooney to call for Biden – his own vice president – to end his sputtering campaign, fearing the fallout if he did it himself.

“Obama and Clooney have been tight for years, and George became Barack‘s surrogate in leading the charge for Joe to step away”, explained the source. “Barack knew he would look like a traitor if he publicly called for Joe to be cut loose. And now, he’s trying to walk away from it all.

On Black Friday, when most Americans are shopping for Christmas deals, Joe Biden appears to have gone shopping for a little anti-Israel propaganda.

According to The New York Post, Biden was seen leaving Nantucket Bookworks clutching a copy of “The Hundred Years’ War on Palestine: A History of Settler Colonialism and Resistance, 1917-2017.”

The anti-Israel missive, written by Columbia University professor emeritus Rashid Khalidi, describes Israel as a colonial power in the face of Palestinian resistance.

In April, Khalidi penned an essay for The Guardian,  “‘A new abyss’: Gaza and the hundred years’ war on Palestine” where he suggests the war Hamas started with its October 7 massacre is simply “a new phase in a bigger conflict” rather than a terrorist attack on civilians that included kidnapping and rape as a tool of war.

Per The New York Post:

“I do not speak to the Post (or the Times for that matter), so this is not for publication, but my reaction is that this is 4 years too late,” Khalidi told The Post, which did not offer or agree to any terms conditioning that response as off the record or on background.

It was not immediately clear if Biden purchased the book or if it was given to him while in the shop — after he and first son Hunter Biden, 54, dined with first daughter Ashley Biden and other family members at the nearby Brotherhood of Thieves restaurant ahead of the island’s annual Christmas tree-lighting ceremony.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said he will give up territory to achieve an end to the war with Russia.

After two and a half years of conflict, since Russia invaded the country in February 2022, Zelenskyy said in an interview with Britain’s Sky News channel that Ukraine would need to be protected by the “NATO umbrella” in order to achieve peace.

“If we want to stop the hot stage of the war, we should take under [the] NATO umbrella the territory of Ukraine that we have under our control,” Zelensky.

“That’s what we need to do fast, and then Ukraine can get back the other part of its territory diplomatically.”

Such comments indicate a significant shift in position for Zelenskyy, who has long insisted he will not give up one inch of Ukrainian territory.

This included a return to Ukraine’s original borders, as well as the Crimea region that was annexed by Putin back in 2014.

However, Zelenskyy admitted that full NATO membership has not been offered, a proposal that Putin has rejected as being part of any peace agreement.

“No one has offered us to be in NATO with just one part or another part of Ukraine,” he explained.

“We need [NATO protection] very much, otherwise [Putin] will come back,” he continued. “Otherwise, how are we going to go to a ceasefire? So for us, it’s very dangerous.”

Zelenskyy’s shift in position is almost certainly linked to Donald Trump’s return to the White House.

Trump has long claimed that he will bring both sides to the negotiating table at the first opportunity and help bring the war to an end.

Following his election victory, it was reported that Trump had spoken to Putin by phone and urged him not to stop escalating the conflict.

However, Trump’s position is not shared by many in Europe. Just this week, a senior NATO official urged people to prepare for a “wartime scenario” as Britain and France considered the deployment of troops to Ukraine.

“If we can make sure that all crucial services and goods can be delivered no matter what, then that is a key part of our deterrence,” Bauer said at an event in Brussels.

Crazy socialist Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) loves to tell other people what to do with their money, but he also LOVES other people’s money.  And he has millions to prove it.

Sanders, who bounced around and didn’t earn a steady paycheck until he was 40 years old, wormed his way into politics and has grifted off the taxpayers who have paid his salary for decades.

During a recent interview, Sanders was asked how, despite his socialist rhetoric, he was able to afford three houses on a Senator’s salary.

Sanders said, “Now, how did I get the money? You’re right. I wrote two best-selling books, including this book on capitalism. It was New York Times bestseller for a while. And also another book was a youth book.”

“And I make, I don’t know, 175,000 a year. And that’s more or less how I became the zillionaire that I am.”
