Secretary Hegseth Says Ukraine Can’t Return to Old Borders, Will Not Be Part of NATO – Europeans Must Bear the Security Burden With No US Troops Acting as Peacemakers (VIDEO)

While US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is expected to travel to Ukraine this week to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky, the position of Donald J. Trump’s administration has already started to become much clearer, with the speech by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in Brussels to the Ukraine defense contact group.

Hegseth made it clear that a return to Ukraine’s pre-2014 borders was unrealistic, and also that the Trump administration does not see NATO membership for Kiev as a viable outcome after the war.

Reuters reported:

“Speaking at a meeting of Ukraine’s military allies at NATO headquarters in Brussels on Wednesday, Hegseth delivered the clearest and bluntest public statement so far on the new U.S. administration’s approach to the nearly three-year-old war.

‘We want, like you, a sovereign and prosperous Ukraine. But we must start by recognizing that returning to Ukraine’s pre-2014 borders is an unrealistic objective’, Hegseth told the meeting of Ukrainian officials and more than 40 allies. ‘Chasing this illusionary goal will only prolong the war and cause more suffering’, he added.”

President Trump wants the war to end, as Ukrainian defenses are crumbling all over the frontline.

“He also told Washington’s NATO allies that they would have to step up and assume greater responsibility for Europe’s security. He said ‘stark strategic realities’, such U.S. border security issues and threats posed by China, prevented the U.S. from being ‘primarily focused on the security of Europe’.”

Kiev will have to abandon many of its key war aims, because the Trump administration will not support the unrealistic goals of regaining lost territory and securing a membership on the NATO military alliance.

Hegseth also stated U.S. troops would not be deployed to Ukraine as part of European-led security guarantees.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth told allies at NATO headquarters Wednesday that ending the war in Ukraine is President Trump’s top priority. Hegseth, speaking to the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in Belgium saying:

— Karli Bonne’ (@KarluskaP) February 12, 2025

“This is my first Ukraine defense contact group and I’m honored to join all of you today. And I appreciate the opportunity to share President Trump’s approach to the war in Ukraine.

We are at, as you said, Mr. Secretary, a critical moment. As the war approaches its third anniversary, our message is clear. The bloodshed must stop and this war must end.

President Trump has been clear with the American people and with many of your leaders that stopping the fighting and reaching an enduring peace is a top priority. He intends to end this war by diplomacy and bringing both Russia and Ukraine to the table. And the US Department of Defense will help achieve this goal.

We will only end this devastating war and establish a durable peace by coupling allied strength with a realistic assessment of the battlefield. We want, like you, a sovereign and prosperous Ukraine. But we must start by recognizing that returning to Ukraine’s pre-2014 borders is an unrealistic objective.

Chasing this illusionary goal will only prolong the war and cause more suffering. A durable peace for Ukraine must include robust security guarantees to ensure that the war will not begin again. Again, this must not be Minsk 3.0. That said, the United States does not believe that NATO membership for Ukraine is a realistic outcome of a negotiated settlement.

Instead, any security guarantee must be backed by capable European and non-European troops. If these troops are deployed as peacekeepers to Ukraine at any point, they should be deployed as part of a non-NATO mission, and they should not be covered under Article 5. There also must be robust international oversight of the line of contact. To be clear, as part of any security guarantee, there will not be US troops deployed to Ukraine.

To further enable effective diplomacy and drive down energy prices that fund the Russian war machine, President Trump is unleashing American energy production and encouraging other nations to do the same.

Lower energy prices, coupled with more effective enforcement of energy sanctions, will help bring Russia to the table. Safeguarding European security must be an imperative for European members of NATO.

As part of this, Europe must provide the overwhelming share of future lethal and non-lethal aid to Ukraine.

Members of this contact group must meet the moment. This means donating more ammunition and equipment, leveraging comparative advantages, expanding your defense industrial base, and importantly, leveling with your citizens about the threat facing Europe.

Part of this is speaking frankly with your people about how this threat can only be met by spending more on defense. 2% is not enough. President Trump has called for 5%, and I agree.

Increasing your commitment to your own security is a down payment for the future. A down payment, as you said, Mr. Secretary, of peace through strength. We’re also here today to directly and unambiguously express that stark strategic realities prevent the United States of America from being primarily focused on the security of Europe.

The United States faces consequential threats to our homeland. We must and we are focusing on security of our own borders. We also face a peer competitor in the communist Chinese with the capability and intent to threaten our homeland and core national interests in the Indo-Pacific.

The US is prioritizing deterring war with China in the Pacific, recognizing the reality of scarcity and making the resourcing trade-offs to ensure deterrence does not fail. Deterrence cannot fail for all of our sakes. As the United States prioritizes its attention to these threats, European allies must lead from the front.

Together, we can establish a division of labor that maximizes our comparative advantages in Europe and Pacific, respectively. In my first weeks as Secretary of Defense, under President Trump’s leadership, we’ve seen promising signs that Europe sees this threat, understands what needs to be done, and is stepping up to the task. For example, Sweden recently announced its largest ever assistance package.

We applaud them for committing 1.2 billion in ammunition and other needed material. Poland is spending 5% of GDP on defense already, which is a model for the continent. And 14 other countries are co-leading capability coalitions.

These groups are doing great work to coordinate Europe’s contributions of legal assistance across eight key capability areas. These are first steps. More must still be done.

We ask each of your countries to step up on fulfilling the commitments that you have made. And we challenge your countries and your citizens to double down and recommit yourselves not only to Ukraine’s immediate security needs, but to Europe’s long-term defense and deterrence goals. Our transatlantic alliance has endured for decades.”

McConnell Goes Off on Tulsi Gabbard After Voting Against Her For DNI

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell froze for about 30 seconds during a news conference on Wednesday in Kentucky. (@HannahPThomas / X screen shot)

Toxic RINO Senator Mitch McConnell on Wednesday voted ‘no’ on Tulsi Gabbard’s confirmation vote.

The Senate voted 52-48 to confirm Tulsi Gabbard as the next Director of National Intelligence. McConnell was the lone RINO who voted against President Trump’s nominee.

Recall that McConnell was also one of the three Senators to vote against Pete Hegseth’s confirmation as Defense Secretary.

Shortly after the confirmation vote on Wednesday, McConnell went off on Tulsi Gabbard.

McConnell said Tulsi Gabbard’s record proves she is “unworthy of the highest public trust.”

Per Fox News’ Chad Pergram:

The Senate’s power of advice and consent is not an option; it is an obligation, and one we cannot pretend to misunderstand. When a nominee’s record proves them unworthy of the highest public trust, and when their command of relevant policy falls short of the requirements of their office, the Senate should withhold its consent.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) is a key participant in the process that informs every major national security decision the President makes. The ODNI wields significant authority over how the intelligence community allocates its resources, conducts its collection and analysis, and manages the classification and declassification of our nation’s most sensitive secrets. In my assessment, Tulsi Gabbard failed to demonstrate that she is prepared to assume this tremendous national trust.

The nation should not have to worry that the intelligence assessments the President receives are tainted by a Director of National Intelligence with a history of alarming lapses in judgment.

Edward Snowden’s treasonous betrayal of the United States and its most sensitive lawful intelligence activities endangered sources, methods, and lives. Japan is among America’s closest treaty allies in the Indo-Pacific, and the risk of conflict in the region is the product of Chinese aggression, not western ‘threat inflation’. Russia’s escalation of its unprovoked war of aggression against Ukraine threatens American interests and is solely the responsibility of Vladimir Putin.

Entrusting the coordination of the intelligence community to someone who struggles to acknowledge these facts is an unnecessary risk. So is empowering a DNI who only acknowledged the value of critical intelligence collection authorities when her nomination appeared to be in jeopardy.

Beginning today, the brave men and women of America’s intelligence community will turn to Director Gabbard for principled leadership and sounder judgment in the service of America’s interests and national security. I join all of them in hoping that she rises to the immense responsibilities of her office.

On Tuesday, Marc Fogel, a 63-year-old Pennsylvania schoolteacher detained in Russia since 2021, finally returned to American soil under President Donald Trump’s administration.

Marc Fogel was released and returned to the United States following negotiations led by President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff.

President Trump secured Fogel’s release.

“Today, President Donald Trump and his Special Envoy Steve Witkoff are able to announce that Mr. Witkoff is leaving Russian airspace with Marc Fogel, an American who was detained by Russia,” said Trump’s National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.

The specifics of the exchange that led to Fogel’s release have not been disclosed. However, National Security Adviser Mike Waltz described the negotiation as a show of good faith from the Russians.

“President Trump, Steve Witkoff and the President’s advisors negotiated an exchange that serves as a show of good faith from the Russians and a sign we are moving in the right direction to end the brutal and terrible war in Ukraine.

“Since President Trump’s swearing- in, he has successfully secured the release of Americans detained around the world, and President Trump will continue until all Americans being held are returned to the United States. By tonight, Marc Fogel will be on American soil and reunited with his family and loved ones thanks to President Trump’s leadership.”

Marc Fogel thanked President Trump personally at The White House upon his release.

During the celebration, President Trump announced that another American hostage would be released on Wednesday.

On Wednesday morning, Belarus released three hostages including an American.

There is no word yet on the name of the American however he was reportedly detained while protesting in Belarus in 2021.

NEW: Senate Advances RFK Jr.’s HHS Nomination – Final Confirmation Vote to be Held Thursday

During a recent interview with CNN, independent presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. said that President Joe Biden was a greater threat to democracy than former President Donald Trump, sparking outrage from leftists. (CNN / YouTube screen shot)

The Senate on Wednesday voted along party line 53-47 to invoke cloture on Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s HHS nomination.

The final Senate floor vote to confirm RFK Jr. will be held 30 hours later on Thursday morning unless Democrat Senators give back their time.

Earlier this week it was reported that GOP Senator Susan Collins, a key ‘swing vote,’ will support RFK Jr. and vote to confirm him as Trump’s Health and Human Services Secretary.

Last week, the Senate Finance Committee voted 14-13 to advance RFK Jr.’s nomination to a full Senate floor vote.

Susan Collins, the RINO who voted against President Trump’s other cabinet nominees, such as Pete Hegseth, told CNN she would vote ‘yes’ to confirm RFK Jr.

Just asked GOP Sen. Susan Collins, key swing vote, if she plans to support RFK Jr for HHS. She says she does plan to vote for him — a big boost for his confirmation.

She said that Kennedy told her that he would “re-examine” the WH’s NIH cuts and he “seemed to understand the…

Ilhan Omar Fumes at Trump’s ‘Discriminatory’ Resettlement Offer to Persecuted White South Africans

Ilhan Omar / Face The Nation

Rep. Ilhan Omar is predictably upset with Donald Trump’s offer to resettle persecuted White South Africans.

In one of his first executive orders after taking office, Trump halted all refugee resettlement programs implemented under the Biden administration.

However, he has since announced an exception for Afrikaners, the White descendants of Dutch colonialists in South Africa, who face vicious anti-White persecution at the hands of the ruling regime.

This persecution mainly involves land seizures but also involves general discrimination, harassment, or violence.

Around 17,000 White South Africans, sometimes known as Boers, have applied for refugee status.

“I think making our refugee resettlement system into one that is discriminatory obviously is problematic,” said Omar, who entered the U.S. by obtaining refugee status, in an interview with HuffPost.

“It’s currently halted, and he wants to make an exception only for white people — that just is plainly wrong and ridiculous.”

Here is a video from inside the Afrikaner squatter camps in South Africa

Omar then suggested that those White people were to blame for apartheid in South Africa, despite the majority of them being only children when the racist regime was in power.

“I don’t think people who facilitated apartheid should be looked at as the ones that are being oppressed,” she complained.

“But Elon Musk is getting his money’s worth.”

The Executive Order, which also stripped South Africa of all foreign aid funding, took aim at “countless government policies designed to dismantle equal opportunity in employment, education, and business, and hateful rhetoric and government actions fueling disproportionate violence against racially disfavored landowners.”

BOOM! President Donald J. Trump Offers “Resettlement of Afrikaner Refugees Escaping Government-Sponsored Race-Based Discrimination” in South Africa

It also accused South Africa of taking “aggressive positions” towards the United States and its allies, namely Israel, by trying to bring genocide charges against them in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over their handling of the war against Hamas.

“The United States shall not provide aid or assistance to South Africa” and “shall promote the resettlement of Afrikaner refugees escaping government-sponsored race-based discrimination, including racially discriminatory property confiscation,” it continued.

The far-left South African government has reacted angrily to the move and suggested that the wealth of White South Africans means they can’t face discrimination.

“It is ironic that the executive order makes provision for refugee status in the U.S. for a group in South Africa that remains amongst the most economically privileged,” the South African Foreign Ministry said.

Archbishop Vigano Exposes Why Pope Francis is Pushing Back on President Trump’s Immigration Polices-It’s All About the Money

Former Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano and Pope Francis

On February 10, 2025, Pope Francis, who resides in the Vatican, a city-state surrounded by a formidable 39-foot wall, penned a letter to U.S. bishops, decrying what he describes as harsh immigration policies of President Donald Trump.

In his sanctimonious letter, Pope Francis calls on the bishops to defend the “infinite and transcendent dignity of every human person” amidst what he terms a “major crisis” with “mass deportations.”

Outspoken Catholic leader Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano has responde to the letter and called out Red Francis main concern is not about immigrants, but about losing the steady flow of American tax dollars into the Church’s coffers for immigrant “services.”

The recent exposure of the U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) funding of a myriad of NGOs shows just how much money is being siphoned from American taxpayers to enrich globalist causes.

According to Forbes, Catholic Relief Services (CRS) was the top recipient of funding from the USAID.

Per Forbes:

CRS, a nonprofit, received $4.6 billion from 2013 to 2022. Other top recipients include Chemonics International, a for-profit organization that received $4.5 billion; FHI 360, a nonprofit that received $3.8 billion; and Development Alternatives, a for-profit organization that received $3 billion.

.Archbishop  Vigano writes:

Jorge Bergoglio’s letter to the Bishops of the United States is the most obvious admission of the effectiveness of the measures adopted by the Trump Administration to counter the operation of ethnic substitution desired by the globalist elite through mass “immigration” from the Third World.

Bergoglio cannot allow the exorbitant flow of public money paid to the USCCB and to “Catholic” foundations and NGOs to be interrupted – starting with the American Jesuits’ JRS – and used, not to promote works of authentic Christian charity, but rather in support of the globalist plan for social dissolution.

For this reason, he seeks to give a doctrinal basis to the indiscriminate “welcoming” of illegal immigrants, even inappropriately invoking the Magisterium of Pope Pius XII.

The words of the Argentine Jesuit contradict themselves. If they were true and disinterested, we should have heard them much earlier, when the Biden Administration took away the wages of American citizens who did not submit to the inoculation of the so-called vaccine.

In that case, concern for the “infinite dignity of all” yielded to the diktats of the same subversive elites who planned the ethnic substitution; the same group of elites who use taxpayers’ money to fund the Vatican, the USCCB, the ultra-progressive Jesuits who support the woke Left, and the entire constellation of “charitable” organizations and NGOs.

Where were Bergoglio and the American Episcopate when Biden supported abortion right up to the moment of birth? Why did they not defend the “infinite dignity” of the innocent and defenseless creatures who are aborted?

Why did they remain silent about the criminal trafficking of violated minors, forced into prostitution, fed to the pedophile elite, and sold to the market of organ predation? Perhaps because the commitment not to talk about abortion and sexual morality is part of the programmatic points of the emails of Hillary Clinton’s advisor, John Podesta, along with the promotion of LGBTQ+ perversions, ecological madness, and ethnic substitution?

In the parable of the Good Samaritan, the man who is robbed by bandits and left for dead could today be an American robbed by an illegal immigrant, or a veteran beaten by a gang of teenagers.

Bergoglio does not stop to help him, because he is too busy obeying his masters. The one who stops to treat him, who takes him to the inn at his own expense (and not with taxpayer money), is not a Jesuit NGO or a progressive charity funded by USAID, but rather the Samaritan whom the new doctors of the Law consider a heretic, and who today wears a red hat with the writing MAGA.

Gabbard Confirmed as Director of National Intelligence

The Senate confirmed Tulsi Gabbard as director of national intelligence on Wednesday.

All Senate Democrats voted against Gabbard, a former Democratic representative of Hawaii, while nearly every Republican voted in favor. Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky was the only Republican to join the Democrats. Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, an independent who caucuses with the Democrats, also voted no, though Gabbard endorsed him for president in 2016. The final tally was 52 to 48.

Gabbard’s nomination stirred controversy because of her sharp criticism of the U.S. foreign policy establishment and “regime change” wars. Her confirmation represents a potentially major shift towards realism and restraint on the part of the second Trump administration.

“Our actions to overthrow secular dictators in Iraq and Libya, and attempts now to do the same in Syria, have resulted in tremendous loss of life, failed nations, and even worse humanitarian crises while strengthening the very terrorist organizations that have declared war on America,” Gabbard wrote in a 2016 op-ed.

Gabbard is a veteran of the Global War on Terror, having temporarily left politics to serve in the Army National Guard in 2004. She has been deployed to Iraq and Kuwait.

In 2022, Gabbard announced she was leaving the Democratic Party, citing the party’s support for anti-white racism, foreign wars, and open borders among the reasons for her departure. Gabbard joined the Republican party in October last year.

WATCH LIVE: White House Press Secretary Delivers Briefing Following DOGE Press Conference Revealing Waste, Fraud, and Abuse of Taxpayer Funds

White House Press Secretary gives press briefing – January 31, 2025

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will deliver remarks and field questions from the press today at 1 pm ET.

This comes after President Trump hosted the King and Crown Prince of Jordan on Tuesday and the Japanese Prime Minister last week.

President Trump has already hosted three foreign leaders at the White House in less than four weeks.

Leavitt will likely address President Trump’s meetings with these leaders, where he discussed Middle East relations with Jordan and announced new investments by Japan’s Nibbon Steel Corp. in U.S. Steel Corp.

However, the most urgent news is from yesterday’s press conference, where the President and Elon Musk discussed discoveries made by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

As The Gateway Pundit reported, President Trump, joined by DOGE Head Elon Musk in the Oval Office, signed the “Implementing the President’s ‘Department of Government Efficiency’ Workforce Optimization Initiative” executive order, meant to “restore accountability to the American public.”

Elon Musk took questions from reporters for the first time about his efforts to cut waste, fraud, and abuse from the federal government budget with DOGE and revealed several bombshell discoveries that his team made.

Some of the findings included likely dead people receiving Social Security at 150 years old and “quite a few” of the government bureaucrats are becoming multi-millionaires, which Musk says appears to be “at the taxpayers’ expense.”
